dhfk to spoil the videogame music track I could write a whole essay on why Sea of Stars makes me as angry as it does but ffft

the main thing it boils down to is it's a game that's so enamored by old rpgs (big Chrono Trigger, Golden Sun, early Final Fantasy etc etc vibes) but made by people who cannot write and are not interested in writing interesting characters or much of a plot at all. A lot of attempts at poignant moments are undercut by lack of characterisation, little grounding for an idea of the stakes at play, meme dialogue (: and a reoccuring NPC who's whole job is to go "hurr hurr hurr that's just like gaming trope number 365 where someone is betrayed, will we get trope number 5 or 63 next I wonder?"

It's a shame because the music absolutely rules and Bryce Kho's designs are rendered goooorgeously into pixel art. The battle mechanics are neat for a bit until you get locked into doing the same fight over and over because a lot of how your fight will go is determined by the RNG of the enemy's responses.

Hello everyone, I have another campaign to share.

Muhammad, his wife, and their free children are fighting to survive in Ghazza. They've been displaced and are living without the most basic resources. Their youngest, Lara, doesn't have any milk to drink; their son Abboud has contracted hepatitis which they cannot treat.

This family's source of income was the children's clothing store that Muhammad ran, however it was destroyed in the bombings. They now have no way to earn money, no roof to sleep under, and no access to clean water or food.

In order to evacuate from Ghazza, rebuild their lives, and receive necessary medical care, they need to raise $40,000 CAD. As of writing, they've only raised $894 thus far.

Please help this family in any way that you can. Donate if you're able to donate, and share their campaign. Anything you can contribute will help them survive and rebuild.
