It's just hit me all over again that it's Crozier who is the very first and one of the only people we see on screen actually touch Little with any kind of positive intent.

That fleeting wee pat on the arm that ends their very first interaction in Episode One.

The idea of Little expressing comfort through physical touch but seldom, if ever, receiving it in that way in return is - as we all know - enough to drive me wild.

But the idea of someone - specifically Crozier - understanding that about him? Noting the way he expresses himself and reciprocating in kind? Well, that's something else entirely and I'll never be over it...

i really love how in that scene in the brig Izzy asks Stede to give him his worst and then he does. Because what Izzy really need desperately is a fight, i think, shouting, outrage, something, because he is feeling so so guilty he just wants some repercussion, at least some sort of punishment for what he and the crew have done to Ed. But Stede (not consciously i think) denies him even that outlet for his guilt and leaves him swamped in self-hatred

Big Brother/Little Brother:

This musical is all about brotherly love, and the brothers in question are SO GAY FOR EACH OTHER. Little Brother (yes, they literally don't have names, their identities are entirely based around being brothers, which is a CHOICE) runs away from home, and Big Brother chases him down because he can't stand to be without his baby brother. When Little Brother starts flirting with sailors, Big Brother gets INSANELY jealous and literally drops to one knee in front of his little brother to try to win back his affections. They sing multiple duets together, usually while holding hands or cuddling. One of those duets includes the line: "Always remember there was nothing worth sharing / Like the love that let us share our name." They sing this line in unison while touching their heads together gently and lovingly. [Next sentences contain SPOILERS and also CW: DEATH, SUICIDE, CANNIBALISM.] After the ship on which the brothers are sailing is wrecked, they spend 45 entire minutes "spooning in despair" (actual quote from one of the actors) in a lifeboat. When it becomes apparent that cannibalism will be necessary for survival, Little Brother tenderly and passionately volunteers to die so that his big Brother can live. Big Brother can't handle the thought of this, and so distracts his baby brother by kissing him on the forehead and then kills himself instead. Little Brother has no choice but to eat his brother, engaging in gastronomic incest through this act of loving cannibalism. The incest coding is ASTRONOMICAL. The gastronomic incest is CANONICAL. This musical deserves to be enshrined in the halls of the Incest Tourney thank you and goodnight.

Little brother of a lifelong farming family runs away to become a sailor on a whaling ship except, oops, his big brother has chased him all the way from home and followed him here, and LB sure is getting close with that dangerous second Mate character, that guy is shooting him glances and smiling wolfishly at LB, and LB has started smiling back and tucking his long hair behind his ears and blushing whenever the Mate dances him around. As a deeply Christian older brother (who recently came close to admitting he doesn’t let himself want anything) should you have a normal response? No, you should act crazy possessive, clench your fists constantly, warn LB off him, get up in the Mate’s face, be nonstop touching LB, and then [REDACTED FOR SPOILERS FOR THE SHOW]. This is fully the plot. Ok that’s all byeeeee
