Optimus wasn't a fuzzy baby most of the time but sometimes he simply refused to fall asleep unless Alpha Trion came by to tell him a story. Prima learned to recognize and accept when this happened and how to deal with it (and was only mildly bitter about not being the favorite. again </3), he just wishes his other siblings would listen to him when he said so :/

if anyone asked Orion why he insisted on sneaking into the archives despite the amount of trouble it constantly got him into, he would say he's trying to find the matrix. and he wouldn't be lying!

but... he also wouldn't be saying the whole truth either.

it's just. he wouldn't know how to explain how those old recordings almost make the grief and longing for something he can't put his finger on go away, if only for a moment. how for barely a second he can almost feel complete despite the gaping hole in his chest.

it never lasts, but even a glimpse of relief is better than sadness that feels never ending.

(he just wishes Alpha Trion's voice didn't make him so goddamn sleepy. he wouldn't get caught nearly as much if he didn't get lulled to sleep half of the time :/)

Villain: Tivvverrriiik, Lord of the Hundreds

Born from the nobility's fear of peasant uprisings, this demon represents not the plight of the dispossessed but the irrational terror that the unwashed masses will upend civilization and burn it all down in a spasm of brutish hatred and hunger.

Taking root in the walls of draconian prisons and fine manor houses, the Lord of the Hundreds bides his time only to explode into action when some act of paranoia or cruelty sets light to the tinderbox of petty tyranny.

After proving themselves to the resistance, the party are tasked with covertly vetting an alchemist who's willing to supply the freedom fighters with black powder for a reasonable rate. Too reasonable in fact, blackpowder by the wagonfull, pennies on the barrel, so much black powder they'd struggle not to use it. The alchemist an agent of Tivvverrriiik, looking to corrupt the resistance from agents of change into a mob of aimless destruction. Worse yet there are factions within the resistance who are all too tempted by the offer, creating fractures in the already fragile movement.

There's been a breakout at a notorious prison, made all the worse by the fact that a cult to the Lord of the Hundreds was spreading among the worst of the condemmed. Once simple thieves and highwaymen emerge unwittingly or not with demonic patronage, and a sinister influence that drives them to a violence beyond the need for survival or revenge. The magistrate has put bounties out for the escapees that wants them killed without question, but in their travels the party meet a priest of Erathis who presses them to delve further.

Tivvverrriiik's influence starts subtly at first, disastrous fires and inexplicable infestations of rats. From there it grows into itching fevers and delusions of skittering shadows, stoking the fear of contagion and uncleanliness. Just prior to his full manifestation, those possessed by him begin to see those around and beneath them as filthy, monstrous things, transformations that can become all too real once feardriven bloodshed becomes a sacrifice in his name.

Ash rats, flame-prone fiends, and wererats are obvious minions for the demon, but perhaps most awful are the Rylkar, monstrosities of the deep earth that spread blight as they go and breed through the use of fire.

Who knows—but it totally takes Hugo off guard to hear the other alchemist say it out loud directly at him one particular time when he was exceptionally pissed at his lil shit antics. He truly never fails to surprise the blond

Where Hugo and Varian had an argument and they broke up, later on Varian got sick bc uhhhh

And then Hugo got misinformation abt Varian from Yong and without double checking with anyone else, he just run to Varian's home while it was raining lmao

And Eugene still doesn't like his Little's brother boyfriend, so they got into an argument and with all the noise Varian natural curiosity went outside to see what was all that noise!

And Hugo was just so scared Varian was about to die jejsufjekerjkt

So then Varian gets into a sloppy agreement with Eugene to allow Hugo to get something dried to wear and stay to take care of him... Eugene was NOT happy

But they let Hugo stay and Varian was getting more sick for plot convenience again don't perceive me

And then this happens
