Happy STS! I hope you’ve had a great week :D If you were to create a “comfort corner” for your OC, what would you put in it? Who deserves one the most?

Daniel has one it's his whole unused bedroom--

However.

Isaac deserves one the most so.

It's a very small space, somewhere Isaac can see all the corners of, big enough the fill with pillows, blankets, and with a couple of shelves on one wall so it can be lit by candlelight only.

A small collection of well loved, often read books. Dog eared and clear taped and barely holding together.

There is an electric kettle shoved in one corner, only sized enough to make about 16 ounces of tea.

I imagine there's a small speaker up on the candle shelf, it's playing very quietly, not enough to distract from reading, but enough to keep Isaac from being alone with his thoughts if he puts the books down. It's mostly video game soundtracks.

Speaking of video games. There's a scuffed up looking gameboy advance with only two cartridges: Fire Emblem Sacred Stones, and Spyro: Season of Ice/Fire

I'd like to think he would feel safe there.

Maybe get away from his own head for a bit.

i turn 24 today. To celebrate, I made this comic to be a spiritual successor to lead balloon, a comic in which I talked about the darkest period of my life so far.

A lot has changed since my 23rd birthday and this one. My priorities have shifted a lot, in ways that I think are mostly good. But i think the best part about today is that suicide has gone back to being a far away notion. I'm really lucky, and I'm grateful for that.

Hey fanfiction writers: If no one's ever told you this before, it's not just fanfiction.

It's something you spent hours, days, maybe even months on, pouring your heart out onto a page because you were so full of passion and thoughts about a story or characters, you felt like you were going to explode if you didn't get it out. Maybe you lost sleep because your mind was racing with ideas or you forgot to eat or drink water because you were so focused. Maybe your back aches from being hunched over for so long, unmoving. Maybe you even felt like you were going a little feral because you were so excited about what you were creating, or were frustrated when you got stuck. Either way, you put your heart, mind, soul, and body into making something.

It's okay to want people to read it, and it's okay if you're disappointed that they don't or it doesn't get as much of a reaction as you were hoping for. Humans are social creatures. Sure, we write for ourselves, but we also share because the joy of doing so is just as powerful as the joy of the process. Of having created something.

We all experience that joy and that disappointment, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

So it's okay. It's not just fanfiction.

Welcome to the reverse verse! This is part 1 of 2 of a commission for @i-am-as-normal-as-you-are and I can't wait to tell you all about it, because I'm incapable of being normal and chill about these concepts, so I ran with it.

Charles Rowland was born in 1900, his mum was from India and moved to the UK after marrying Charles' dad, a soldier who was not... very loving. Charles' heritage gave him some problems, but none as bad as that one time in 1916 when he was sacrificed to a demon and spent the next 7 decades in Hell. He doesn't like to talk about it, except when it can get him what he wants. He was always an angry boy, or so he thought, but after his time spent in Hell, it became so much worse. He's explosive and unpredictable, and so he mostly avoids conflict. He doesn't need to fight anyone, as his charming personality and sweet smile (plus a few smart calculations) always seem to be enough to convince people to give him what he asks for. And when the fight is inevitable... well, he has Edwin for that!

Edwin Payne grew up very sheltered, in a deeply religious home, and he is proud of that. Don't try to argue with him, because he surely has a Bible verse that will help him win (and if not, he is not above using his croquet mallet now that he has someone to keep safe). Unfortunately for him, he realized at a quite young age that he felt attraction towards other boys. Even worse, somehow other people could tell as well, including those peers that ended up killing him for it (the rumour spread throughout school was that he had died due to AIDS, and most people just accepted it). He never acted on those unnatural urges of his, but when he met this ghost who had just escaped Hell... he decided not to risk eternal damnation, and to stay here with Charles, instead. Edwin has no interest in the supernatural or in magic, and sort of looks down on them, but luckily his friend's got that covered.

"..Umm... I..." The thought was jarring, and left his mind reeling and scrambling a bit, cheeks tinting pink with hints of shame. Then he shook it off, regathering himself.

"No one! Nobody! Jeez... Dumb question..." The teen scoffed, until the silence fell and immediately he felt too suffocated with his swimming thoughts. "I mean... I know it probably looks bad if you think about what my whole family did..."

Ethan scoffed again, though the noise sounded far more forced. "Like- my whole family aren't famous or anything, but they did a LOT of stuff. All of 'em got badges. Some of 'em even managed to battle the Champion! A-and, my uncle..." His gaze felt to the side, "He's like- a genius researcher, making life better for Pokemon. So is my cousin. And- even my lazy brother! He sleeps all the time! Seriously, he sleeps more than his Slakoth, and he STILL got almost half way through the Elite Four...

"I don't even have one badge even though I'm 13- I don't even battle right, cuz I can't, I'm too slow and-" Ethan cut himself off, looking frustrated, "...I shouldn't worry about what people think. I... I should just focus on myself, so I don't care about disappointing anyone."
