"g'day, mate!" you laughed as you kept the joint between two of your fingers. you almost fell over across the patio couch. you made sure not to hit the hot end of the joint against the wicker of the couch.
oscar rolled his eyes as he leaned up against the air of the chair he was seated on, "oh is that how i sound to you? do you expect for me to pull a kangaroo from behind my ear."
you took another inhale and said, "no. i hope for a wombat though. they're cuter!" then burst into another series of giggles.
"the accent gets to you, doesn't it?" oscar rolled his eyes and simply laughed at you. you were amazing, even when you were stoned. you laughed a little louder when he tried to mock your fake your accent of his accent.
it was summer break, time off felt good for the both of you. you had spent the last few races with him leading up to the break you both desired. it was nice in england this time of year, even when it was slightly drizzly. but tonight was a nice day. you knew that tomorrow was going to be rainy.
oscar had a beer in his hand while you smoked a joint. he tried not to think too hard about how you got your weed. but regardless, he was happy that you were feeling good today. smoking looked hot on you, even if the scent of weed lingered in his nose.
"i'm curious.. i've neevr tried some."
"ever smoked anything."
he replied, "smoked cigarettes a little bit for a few months. never quite caught on." of course it didn't oscar was too perfect to ever be a smoker, "can i try some?"
you nodded, "of course, never one to not share." you handed to joint to him. then carefully watched him inhale and then softly exhale with a bit of a cough. he watched him grin lazily.
there was nothing wrong with a little bit of weed. he was painfully hot a little stoned. he giggled a little when you took another drag. you leaned forward and blew smoke in his face which made him shudder. he relaxed against the patio chair. the soft birds chirping as you smoked.
"you look good, beautiful." he said with a smirk, "like really good. my beautiful girlfriend. brighter than the sun." he laughed a little bit as he spread his thighs a little bit. showing off the bulge in his basketball shorts. he patted his thigh, "i want a slower look."
you finished the joint before you put it out in the ashtray before you got up. you swayed a little from side to side and giggled loudly, "oh, you true seducer!"
you got into his lap on the chair. there was enough space on it for you to spread your legs on the seat of it to straddle your lover's waist. you licked your lips at him as you rubbed your clothed pussy against his clothed cock.
you kissed him on the mouth once before you struggled to get your shorts and panties off while in his lap before you straddled him once more. you shuddered as you felt his cock press against your entrance. you held onto his strong shoulders as he rubbed against you, "i forget how small you are sometimes. i sometimes wonder how you could ever take me."
you giggled a little, "stubborn." then got yourself fully seated on his cock. it made him shudder and say something in hushed whispers you didn't quite pick up on. you held onto his shoulders. the smell of weed was dissipating from around you as you moved up and down your boyfriend's cock.
oscar was a good boyfriend. the kind that would make anyone swoon. he remembered every birthday and anniversary. even the ones that you honestly didn't even remember yourself! he was caring and loved to make you feel like the center of his world.
he licked his lips, his gaze a little unfocused as you moved against him. he was for sure high, but then again, so were you. you held onto him as you worked yourself up and down his cock. he could feel the flash of heat in his body as he felt close to you.
your backyard was private, no one was going to know what you were doing. but your voices could carry, so to relieve that problem, the two of you kept kissing passionately. you whimpered into the kisses as he groped your ass with those strong hands of yours.
oscar was fairly stronger than you. the kind of build that turned heads. and he loved how small you felt in his grasp, that you were something so delicate that you could easily break in half. but he loved you too much to ever hurt you like that. he wanted to worship your body, feel you against him as his heart fluttered in his chest. you were painfully beautiful, even in the afternoon light as you rode him. both of you stoned
"i have to admit." you said, "your accent is really hot. one of the first things i noticed about you." you laughed as you continued to ride him, "it sounds really good when we're having sex. when you moan so much your voice goes a little hoarse. it's hot." you purred.
he felt a shudder through his body as you rode him. even his thin t-shirt felt like too much clothing on him. but he'd get it all off when you got inside. he didn't realize how good sex felt when he was a little buzzed, no wonder you enjoyed a good joint and some oral sex. everything felt heightened and it felt really good with your cute cunt wrapped around his hard cock.
you two continued to fuck on the patio furniture. your kisses grew more needy as the two of you moved together in a sexual passion. you hand onto oscar's hair as you moved up and down his cock. you felt hot all over.
he stretched out his legs a little bit as he felt the heavy heat in his stomach. he tensed up and gripped onto your thighs a little harder as he came inside of you. he shuddered and felt the heat spread through his body. and you in turn continued to move up and down his cock. you pushed your hair out of your face as you rode him.
"oscar."
"i know beautiful." he said as he kissed you once more. you came around his cock, your grip tightly on him as you hit your peak. it made everything feel hot in your body.
you slowed down your thrusts and rested against his chest. your breathing heavy and the intensity of your orgasm was overwhelming. it was very hot.
"i didn't know weed was so good." he chuckled as he held onto your soft hips and rubbed his softening cock up against you. he kissed you once more.
you chuckled, "be careful, honey. you get drug tested remember." you got off his lap with shaky legs and tried to find your panties on the ground. he watched you and even leaned over to give your ass a pat when you were close enough. which made you jump a little.
he said, "i think i've had a little too much sun. why don't we get inside and i can see you fully naked. i'm still feeling pretty girl and i want to see how easily you come still." then tucked his cock back into his shorts and got up. he rubbed his forehead at the intensity of the high. he was a little shaky as the two of you led him back into your home.
maybe he'd let himself smoke once in a while. especially if it was with you, maybe after another round inside you two could share another joint. so he could get a real taste of it. <3

omg I absolutely loved your recent smut about judge jonathan crane 😍 especially the bit of praise for his beloved wife, could you make a part 2 where he "gets back" at the reader after his courtroom blow job? with some extra praise please! thank q so much I really enjoyed reading Under His Desk & have an obsession for Jonathan Crane too, i hope you have a lovely day!! 😍
On His Desk (Judge Jonathan Crane x Fem!Reader) [+18]
Tumblr media
Pairing: Judge Jonathan Crane x female reader Summary: After your husband's work is done, you two can't be bothered to get to a bed before getting freaky. Word count: 2,538 Contents: (Minors DNI) Smut and fluff! Praise, p in v, unprotected sex, creampie Author's notes: I absolutely adore your idea, so here it is! Thank you for your message, I really appreciate it, it was so motivating, and believe me, I always need the motivation. (I'm such a yapper, this fic is double the size of the last one bye. Mandatory 'english is not my first language' disclaimer along with a 'this is my first time writing p in v sex' one, you know the deal.)
"Court dismissed!" Judge Crane announced with a slam of his gavel. Cheers of freedom that he could only compare to those of his students back in Gotham University over a decade ago filled the courtroom. People always loved being allowed to go home, even if those homes belonged to a reign of terror.
Despite that, Jonathan loved going home too. Bane had granted him the upper floor of the courthouse as a personal living space. A makeshift royal chamber for the King of the kangaroo court and his Queen.
You loved home too. You don't remember the last time you had so much freedom over your place of residence. You and Jonathan had been placed in Arkham or prison cells far too many times over the years. And obviously, the iron bars or the cheaply cared for hospital rooms didn't follow your personal taste and sense of style.
The entire Gotham courthouse, all its rooms, chambers, halls and offices were yours now. Your apartments were full of exquisite decorations and stolen fancy furniture that you had only dreamt of when you were doing time. You were the proud Queen of this castle of chaos, and every day, when your and Jonathan's jobs were done, you loved relishing in the fact that this was all yours.
In a high-morale, the attendees left the court. You watched over them, sat comfortably on your throne: Jonathan's lap. Just an hour ago you had been on your knees under your husband's desk, giving him some sneaky attention just to rile him up. And most naturally, you expected his sweet revenge after work.
"So... My sweet angel..." Jonathan murmured warmly into the crook of your neck, his hands pulling you impossibly closer.
"Yes, my perfect Georgia peach?" You asked in a playful but tender tone. The mischief of your previous actions still lingered upon you like his taste on your tongue. Jonathan scoffed and rolled his eyes with a smirk. His hands held you by the hips as he shifted you into a straddle on his lap.
"You're feeling silly today, aren't you, love?" His voice was soft and perfectly warm, nothing like the tone he'd use when announcing the death sentences. It almost seemed like Judge Jonathan Crane and your husband Jonathan were two different men who happened to be madly in love with you at the same time.
"Don't act like you don't love it." You retorted in flirtation. Your lips found him for a moment, giving him a teasing chaste kiss that made him grip your waist and groan.
"I can't fool you... I live for it, baby... And for you too." His hands helped you back into his kiss, this time adding passion into the mix.
Instinctively, your hips ground on him, on his lap. His grip on you grew tighter. Soon enough his tongue was asking for permission to enter your mouth.
Lips parted for him and he went in so slowly, savoring you like the most delicate of desserts. The hand that wore a wedding ring traced a path from your waist, over the fabric of your dress and towards the skin of your back. His hands were rough from the work on the farm he grew up in and the experiments and fights afterwards. The entire life story of your husband along with the smooth metal of his ring finally found your hair, and he held you there. At just a lick away from him.
You moaned softly into his mouth, and he echoed you. He had a firm grip on your hair and your waist, but nothing painful or aggressive.
“But what you did today… It was very very bad, love.” He broke the kiss just to murmur. His beautiful eyes heavy-lidded behind his square glasses.
“What? You didn’t like it?” You asked in a playful sarcasm. One of your hands ran across his hair, brushing an unruly salt and pepper strand away from his forehead. The other took off his glasses with care. Your husband had a mild case of myopia, he wouldn't miss a thing up close.
“I hated it.” He returned the sarcasm with a smirk. His eyes watched the care with which you set his glasses aside, adoration in such a small gesture and in the way he perceived it. His cock had grown harder in his pants. You chuckled with mischief when you noticed.
“Does that mean I’m getting punished?” It was a cheeky question with a hint of true background to it. Sure, your husband had his kinks and so did you, but you could tell in his eyes, in the way he was holding you that, right now, all he ever wanted to do was to be with you, to feel you and finish what you had started down on your knees.
“Maybe...” He chuckled before leaning in for another kiss, just as deep and slow as the previous one.
He held you really tight. The emptiness of the courtroom amplified every single noise you made. And he couldn’t get enough of it. His every sense had to be filled with you. Hearing, touch, sight, taste and smell. It all had been conquered a long time ago by his beloved wife and he strived to keep it that way.
His lips went further down, from the corners of your lips to your jaw. Open-mouthed kisses trailed their way towards your neck. He growled at the scent of your perfume, unable to resist pressing his face against you.
“Me neither.” You whispered back, your arms were busy wrapping around his shoulders, brushing past the ripped parts of his suit jacket, and he took it as a green light to act.
"Smells good." He purred in delight, nuzzling his nose against your neck once more. "Is that the perfume I got you, love?" Your dream perfume, to be exact. Jonathan had sent some of his men to raid the fanciest Gotham stores with a list of expensive gifts for you. In the anarchy money wasn't a problem anymore. Good old 'finders keepers' had played in your favor. Jonathan now made sure to bathe you in the riches his status as a wanted villain wasn't able to afford back in the day. You hummed your ‘yes’ with a proud, flirty smirk, drawing a smile out of Jonathan.
“It suits you so well… Makes me go insane…” He whispered, giving your neck a few more hungry nibbles and kisses. “I'm definitely not waiting until we get upstairs, baby.” Despite the seductiveness in his voice, he was being completely honest. And after all, the courtroom was empty, the pile of desks was strong enough, and he was too hard to handle being patient.
With you secured with the embrace, and with a gentleness intended for a fine piece of china, Jonathan slowly laid you down on his desk. Moving away any sort of clutter that could be an obstacle to your beautiful body before fully setting you there. His lips never once abandoned your neck, the sounds of his sucks and nibbles fusing with the sound of some paper sheets being tossed aside.
"Godammit, you're perfect." He whispered in fluent desire when he pulled back to take a good look at you. Once your head was safely laid on the wooden surface his hand traced the shape of your body over the fabric of your dress. All the way over to your thighs where the hemline rested, although not for much longer.
Reverently, he slid the dress up to your hips, his baby blue eyes already fixated on your lacy black panties that left nothing to the imagination.
“Oh, love… You’re perfect and you’re a perfect tease…” He remarked, the corners of his lips were tugged up into a smirk. His eyes reverently tracing the shape of your cunt. His favorite place to be in.
Not wanting to wait any longer, Jonathan yanked the panties off your body, letting them join the sheets of paper. He pushed the backs of your thighs down and hooked each leg on each of his shoulders hungrily.
In a moment, he gathered up saliva in his mouth and carefully spat over your pussy. Your wetness could be enough on its own, but he was a firm believer in having you completely soaked before taking him in.
“That’s it… Nice and easy…” He whispered with proud hunger, his hands were already taking his cock out of his pants for a second time today.
“Forgive me for not foreplaying you more, love. But if I don’t do this right now I’m going to cum in my pants…” He confessed and got a sweet laugh out of you that shifted into a soft moan when the tip of his penis pressed against your entrance.
He exhaled a hot, lustful breath of relief when his saliva and your own wetness eased his way inside you. You moaned again, your hands held onto the edge of the desk as the familiar sensation took over. Every vein and inch engraved in your memory, your pussy so warm and needy for him. He closed his eyes for a moment, his mouth opening for his own moan when he pushed all the way in. One of his hands caressed your cheek softly and his eyes opened to seek your permission to go on.
You nodded, your tongue darting out to lick his thumb mischievously as it brushed over your lips. He groaned at the sight and at the rush when he started to move, fucking you slowly and deeply into the desk.
“Ohh, love… My beautiful love…” He muttered, his breathing was starting to get heavier the more he pounded in you, yours was too. You moaned, you cunt getting even slicker. You clenched once around him, just to bask in the pretty sound he made. To get back at you, he plunged his thumb into your warm mouth, pressing the digit against your tongue. You diligently sucked it and clenched your walls around him again in playfulness.
With a groan that tested the edge of a moan, Jonathan pulled his now wet thumb out of your mouth. He found both of your wrists and held them down firmly but not aggressively, just in a search to hold onto you and return the banter. His hips bucked faster now, the sound of your skin slapping against his added to the lists of sinful sounds echoing in the courtroom.
“God, you’re always so tight…” He thought out loud, the pride in your eyes made him thrust into you harder.
“Jonathan!” You semi-complained, your wet throbbing pussy had nothing against him, but your remaining consciousness did just a little bit. It was more of a playful banter in all honesty.
“Told you you were going to be punished, love…” He explained himself with another hard thrust that made you yelp. “Just… Not as roughly… You’re far too gorgeous… To be treated like that…” Dirty liar. You had been spanked or facefucked for much less in the past, but Jonathan seemed so needy for you today, you decided to let it slide for now.
“Oh, God…” You cried out multiple times as his thrusts went on, his grunts and moans usually replying to you each time. His grip on your wrists was passionate, keeping you there and sinking his nails into your flesh, adding a soft hiss to your repertoire of sounds.
Your pussy kept clenching around him like your life depended on it, to the point where you started to do it automatically. You threw your head back with another moan that was driving your husband mad. Incredibly so.
The tip of his cock hit the right spot inside you, and he took advantage of the way your body trembled and how you let your guard down when your eyes closed to start his final attack. He left your wrists alone now, and your hands were free to return to your vicious grip on the desk. Something that you would definitely need.
The pleasure that boiled in your depths suddenly turned into an intense haze when Jonathan one-upped your clenches with skillful circular motions that he pressed on your clit. His body-hand coordination showed off as he maintained the fast pace with his hips but treated your bundle of nerves with a practiced care. All you could do was gasp and yelp, moan and hold onto the wooden edge and then moan again.
Jonathan kept abusing the hell out of your g-spot and your clit with pride and mischief, definitely taking his revenge on you. Still, he couldn’t deny just how precious you were to him, how beautiful you looked, how delicious your tight little pussy felt around his cock. You were his perfect angel, and he craved to treat you as such.
With love, he leaned in, holding the top of your head with his free hand and kissing you senseless, his tongue tasting yours and swallowing your moans straight from the source. He was going wild, his circles applied more pressure to your clit and his pace became faster. He had to push his body weight on you a bit harder now.
His left hand then traveled from your head to your face, and then all the way over to your clothed breast, cupping it and squeezing it. He purred and massaged it over your dress, a satisfied smirk formed against your lips when he felt your pussy’s reaction to it. You were so close to the edge for him.
Intelligently, he went all out. His hips pistoned so hard your g-spot didn’t have a single second to rest. His fingers moved so fast over your clit it felt like a vibration. You moaned out his name and probably left curved marks on the wood from your nails.
“That's perfect… So perfect, my love, you’re doing so good!” Jonathan struggled to speak in his own pleasure. He was so close to another orgasm but he held it back, even if his slapping balls felt tighter and tighter. He was not cumming until you did.
“Jonathan!” You cried out. You took a weight off his shoulders when, unable to take it any longer, the tension and heat that coiled in your insides snapped, making you come all over his cock before him.
His own endurance was affected with the feeling of your wet, thick orgasm. Your throbbing cunt eagerly milked his twitching cock. He pounded into you a few more times before groaning and finally allowing himself to release. Your slick and the remnants of his saliva now mixed with his cum. His body rested lovingly on top of yours, distributing his weight so he didn't crush your panting, post orgasmic form.
With adoration, he kissed your neck, his fingers allowed your clit to rest as he drew them back towards his lips, licking the digits that had touched it in both an act of desire and utter love.
You were his life, his love, his driving force, his literal partner in crime and most importantly, his wife. And despite the way things were now in Gotham, he was grateful that he had you here, in his arms, full of him like he was of you.

[September 2005]
There can only be a certain amount of restraint one can have before they snap.
You discovered that at a young age. You can’t put the entirety of the blame on growing up in Woodsboro, but it is most likely one of several reasons. The murders have been looming over the town since you’ve been born. Woodsboro, the city where Billy Loomis and Stu Macher went bonkers (that’s a kinder way to put it). Even though there hasn’t been another set of killings since that year in this town, there’s still a good amount of trepidation whenever it gets brought up.
According to your parents, Billy and Stu were like all the other normal kids.
Until they weren’t.
“It’s not something you should worry about, Y/n.” Your mother told you during the thousandth time you brought it up. When you try to say something in protest, she’d shut you down. You were a weird kid, your teachers say so. Attentive, sure, but maybe a little too much.
It wasn’t until the Jenny Willoughby incident that your parents started to suspect that everyone was right about you.
You were in a playground with the kids from your class as an activity to get to know each other. It was pointless, you thought. Everyone already knew each other from the previous years. There are already friend groups and bestfriends. And why did you have to be outside anyway? The classroom has enough space.
You kicked the rocks in front of you to see how far they can go, quite enjoying yourself before one of the rocks hit Jenny’s scrawny leg.
“Ow! Mrs. Bishop, she hit me! Y/n hit me!” She wailed, clutching her foot. Jenny looked like a kangaroo hopping around with one leg while the other was injured. You found it quite funny and laughed without a care in the world, which your teacher didn’t appreciate.
Mrs. Bishop looked at you through her glasses, “Why did you do that, Y/n?” She asked, frowning.
You liked Mrs. Bishop. She was nice. She always gave you extra time to nap and she was patient with you unlike the other teachers. So, seeing her look disappointed made you feel ashamed of yourself. You had let her down. “I’m sorry, Mrs. Bishop.” You mumbled.
“It’s not me you should be apologizing to.” Mrs. Bishop told you, nodding her head in Jenny’s direction.
“I know.” You pursed your lips, taking the courage to walk up to Jenny and apologize. Bowing your head, you say, “I’m sorry for hurting you, Jenny. I swear I didn’t mean to. I didn’t see you, so I-”
“It’s okay. I forgive you.” Suddenly, she sounded cheerful.
What?
You never understood how people can go from sad to happy in a matter of seconds. Analyzing Jenny’s face, you saw that her smile didn’t reach her ears. She is giving you the same smile she gave Samantha Carpenter when the girl accidentally took her bag that had the same color as hers. That smile sets an unsettling feeling in the pit of your stomach. Something is wrong, you know it, but you say nothing else except “Thank you. Again, I’m really sorry.”
And there was that.
You went back to your original position. Instead of kicking the rocks, you opted for counting the flowers in the bushes.
“Children, please behave yourselves! I’m going back inside the school for a few minutes because I need to use the restroom!” Announced Mrs. Bishop.
Too busy admiring the flowers, you failed to comprehend Jenny settling beside you with her group of friends. “Look at her. She’s such a freak. All alone with no friends. No wonder why she hurt me. She just wants something interesting to happen in her life.” Jenny sneered, acting like you weren’t next to her.
Kris, her equally evil twin, chuckled, “It runs in the family. Her parents are freaks too.”
At that, you recoiled. “Leave me alone, Jenny. I already said I’m sorry. Don’t bring my family into this.”
“Or else what? You’re gonna hurt me with a rock again?” Jenny taunted, showing off the gap in her two front teeth. She took a step closer to you while you stayed put. “Oh, I’m real scared of you, alright. Oh, no, she’s gonna murder me! Help!” She mocked, placing the palm of her hand against her forehead as if to show distress.
Shut up.
“Don’t be silly, Jen. She doesn’t have the guts to do it.”
“You’re right. She doesn’t. That doesn’t make her any less of a freak, though.”
Shut up.
“Speak, you freak!” Jenny shoved your shoulder as hard as she could, sending you tumbling backwards. Her figure stood over you, satisfied by the results of her actions. Bullies like Jenny thrive off of fear. They want to make you feel small so that they can feel better about themselves. Be the bigger person, adults say. Don’t give in.
“Go away.” You mutter, clenching your fists tightly as your palms begin to sweat.
“Why should I? Bullies need to be taught a lesson. Isn’t that right, girls?”
Shut up.
Shut up.
You close your eyes.
Shut up.
Shut up.
Shut up.
“Father said her family is full of losers. She’s one of them.”
SHUT UP.
SHUT UP.
“He’s right, you know.”
Your sprung to your feet, your fist colliding with Jenny’s face. Her sister and friends let out a scream of terror as you hit her. Over and over and over again. “SHUT UP!” Punch. “SHUT UP!” Punch. “SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!” She wouldn’t stop talking (the excuse you would give later on). I just wanted her to be quiet. Your knuckles were starting to turn red, you notice, and your entire fist was coated with blood that wasn’t yours. That’s what urged you on. The satisfying sound as your hand collided with Jenny’s face.
“Y/N!”
You were about to land another blow when four strong hands pulled you back.
You don’t remember what happens next.
-
“SHE BEAT SOMEONE UP!”
“She’s just a kid! Kids make mistakes!”
”THAT WASN’T A MISTAKE. THAT WAS ASSAULT!”
Your parents were in the room next to yours, arguing about what happened. Jenny was sent to the hospital. Fortunately, there wasn’t any permanent damage. Jenny’s parents wanted you expelled, but your father made a bargain to the principal. What kind of bargain, you know not. Just that your mother appeared to be bothered by it.
Eventually, the shouting became unbearable. A part of you felt guilty - not for hurting Jenny but for being the reason your parents are fighting in the first place. You twisted the rusty door handle of your room (your parents should really have it replaced), double checking to see if they heard anything. When the yelling didn’t cease, you took it as a sign that you were free to go.
It’s not the first time you snuck out. The first time you discovered that it was possible was when your parents grounded you because your grades were lower than the year before. They instructed you to stay inside the house. As the curious child you were, you made a careful analysis of every room. That’s how you found out that the backdoor had a faulty handle.
Putting one foot in front of the other, you let your feet lead you to the park a few blocks from your home. You weren’t worried about anybody bothering your moment of solitude. Most of the children have been told by their parents to steer clear from children like you - whatever that means.
Being feared has its perks sometimes.
When you finally arrived at your destination, you were baffled to see Samantha Carpenter on the swing alone. Her long dark hair cascaded down her shoulders in waves, paired with her blue jumper and white shirt. She spotted you approaching and waved, a small smile spreading across her face.
You raised an eyebrow, glancing back behind you, searching for someone else she could be directing the wave to. As you realized there was no one, you were disinclined to wave back. But you did so anyways.
Sam, no longer seated on the swing, came up to you, “Hey.”
“Hi.”
“Heard you kicked Jenny Willoughby’s butt.”
Your lips pursed into a thin line, “That’s none of your business.”
She raised her hands up in surrender, “Hey, I was going to say that it was pretty cool. It’s about time she learned her lesson.” Sam smiled without a care in the world - like what you did was no big deal.
You nod, your mouth unable to release a response to her statement.
Sam caught how tense your shoulders were and seemed to remember one important detail. “Oh. Sorry. I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Sam-”
“Samantha Carpenter. I know.” You shrugged, “You’re pretty hard to ignore.”
“Is that a compliment?”
“It can be.”
“Thanks… Anyway, you can call me Sam for short. All my friends call me Sam. My parents, too. Except when they’re mad at me.” Sam rambled, waving her arms as she spoke each sentence. Then, she took your hand in hers, leading you to the swing that she previously occupied.
You shove your hands into your jean pockets, unsure of what to do.
Sam seems to think two steps ahead based on the way she guided you to sit down. “I’ll push you now. Just lightly. I don’t want to hurt you. Is that okay?”
“I- yeah. Sure.”
True to her word, Sam began to push your body so the swing can move. Each time you go forward and back again, Sam makes sure to place a hand on your back to support you and to literally push you in the right direction. Although you weren’t sure what made Sam Carpenter act like you knew each other your whole life, you felt at ease being the kid that you currently are. Laughing in glee with Sam felt right. When she talks to you, you don’t feel the apprehension that others usually have. You decided right then and there that you were going to be her best friend.
-
[June 2010]
Sam slumped down beside you, back leaning against the tree you were resting on. Her eyes were red. There were bags under them. It didn’t take you long to realize that she’d been crying.
“Holy shit, what happened to you?! Are you okay?” You hastily take off your headphones, hands planting themselves on Sam’s forearms. Sam hasn’t been seen around town for two weeks. You tried calling. You even went to her house, but got no response except for when Christina told you that they were dealing with family matters and that it isn’t a good time to visit. Now, seeing her like this made you curse yourself for not trying harder to be there for her.
“My dad left.” She said, defeated. “He left because of me. It’s all my fault.” Sam sobbed as you took her in your arms. It was something akin to a chant. Something you knew she made herself believe.
It breaks your heart every time you see her like this. Even if it wasn’t often that the Sam Carpenter broke down in front of you, it doesn’t take away the hurt that it causes you everytime she does. You’re not mad at Sam. You can never be. You’re mad at the world. However, you can’t do anything about it except be there for her when she needs you the most. This is definitely one of those times.
So, you hold her; conveying using your actions that you will always be here for her to lean on when nothing or no one else could. You let her cry in your arms for as long as she needs since that’s what you do for the people you love and because she told you that your arms are the only place she feels safe in. And lastly, you tell her that it’s not her fault. You don’t do it because she wants to hear it. You do it because she needs it. “Sam, it’s not your fault. You hear me? It’s not your fault.”
Sam shakes her head indignantly. “It is. It is m-my fault. Billy Loomis is my father.”
Your blood runs cold at the mention of him. “What?”
“I was looking at my mom’s old diaries to see what kind of cute memories she had with my dad. Then I found out he wasn’t actually my dad at all and that my mom was seeing some other guy, Billy Loomis. He got her pregnant and told dad that it was his . . . When I confronted her about it, screaming, I… didn’t realize that dad was right behind me all along. He didn’t know. That’s why he left. I couldn’t keep my mouth shut. I… Mom is blaming me. So do I.
“There’s more. See, ever since I found out, I’ve been having these visions of Billy, my biological father. He says things and I can’t… I don’t know how to deal with it.” Sam finishes, turning away so as to not meet your eyes, afraid that there might be abhorrence occupying the space in them. The whole world could judge her and she wouldn’t bat an eye. Her only concern is you being a part of that as well. She fears that one day you’ll realize that she’s no longer worth the effort. She can’t lose you too.
The air lingered with words that are yet to be said, but both of you knew that now was not the time nor place.
“What kind of things does he say, Sam?” You ask gently, rubbing circles on her back to soothe her. By now, your white shirt was soaked in Sam’s tears, though you could care less. Sam is more important than a shirt that you could change out of anytime you want.
There’s a long pause before Sam gives a response to your question. “If I tell you, will you run away?”
“Sam, even if you killed someone, I won’t run away. I’ll even help you bury the body. And even then, I’m staying.” You say, instantly regretting your words once Sam visibly flinches. “Shit. Sorry. Bad take. Anyway, my point is, I’ll always be here for you. No matter what. Nothing you say or do will change that.”
Sam looks up at you, then. There’s something that shines in her eyes that you can’t decipher. Trust? Hope, maybe? “He tells me to just go out there and cut some throats.”
“Do you want to?” You ask, not out of judgment, but out of pure curiosity.
“No. God, no.” Sam shakes her head in the negative, face twisting at the thought of herself sending her peers to their graves. “I’m just scared.”
“Of what, exactly?”
“Scared that I’ll end up just like him. I’m scared that one day I’ll snap and I can’t go back.”
You hum, processing the information Sam just gave you.
“Y/n, say something.”
“You want to hear what I think?” You pull Sam away from you gingerly. For a second, fear flashes in her eyes, but it disappears as quickly as it came when you interlock your hand with hers. When you receive the green light from Sam, you look at her and say, “You’re not your father. I know that what you found out scares you, but Sam, I’ve known you for half my life. I know that you don’t want to hurt people unless they hurt the ones you love first. That’s one of the things I- that’s one of the things that makes you different. You have a heart. So, keep it. Fight for yourself and fight as hard as you can so that you don’t become the person you don’t want to be. Also remember that I’ll be here for you every step of the way to support you.”
Sam wipes away the tears from her eyes, chuckling lightheartedly, “You’re amazing, you know that?”
“Oh, I know, alright.” Your mouth opens in mock offense when Sam punches your shoulder. “That hurt!”
“Sorry.” Something in the way she says it tells you she’s not, showing from how her mood switches once more. “What if I can’t fight anymore? What if I go crazy? Will you still be by my side?”
You don’t hesitate to answer. “I always will, Carpenter. You’ll have to literally kill me to pull me away from you. It’s you and me till the end of time. We’ll go crazy together, I promise.”
Sam leans her head on your shoulder, letting out a breath, “Crazy together. Somehow, that’s oddly comforting.”

[October 2014]
The call comes at around 3 am, precisely 10 minutes after you had fallen asleep. You had been up all night studying for an upcoming exam that in all likelihood would determine whether you have a shot at getting out of Woodsboro. Sam would have told you that it was too early, that you at least have one more year to figure things out. That is, if she bothered to be around. The older Carpenter sibling has been pushing you away lately, much to your annoyance. You can’t help someone if they don’t want to be around you. Nevertheless, that doesn’t dissuade you from coming to her rescue every time she gets herself into trouble.
You rub the sleep from your eyes, reaching for your phone from the wooden nightstand. This scene felt rehearsed. That’s understandable, no doubt, if you take in the events like this that took place too many times for you to count. You can recall each time, each cop that called, the reasons for Sam being in jail again without missing a detail. If you try hard enough, you can even name all officers on duty during the ungodly hours of the morning. That’s a clue to how often Sam got sent to the precinct.
You press the green button, accepting the call without looking at the Caller ID. “Hi, Deputy Hicks.” Clearing your throat, you sit up, turning the lamp on.
You hear Judy sigh on the other end of the line.
“Hey, Y/n. It’s about Sam.”
“Always is.” You mumble, already on your way to the front door. Since you fell asleep still wearing your jeans, you only had to put on a sweater before going out. Your parents were still asleep and if they heard you steal the keys to the car and start the engine, they don’t make it known. A part of you had a suspicion that they knew what you do every other night, but they couldn’t be more indifferent. As long as you kept your grades up and maintained your family’s reputation, they will allow you to do whatever you please. It was both a blessing and a curse. “What is she in for this time?”
“She got high and drove while intoxicated, almost running a boy over. Before she could try to escape, the boy’s mother saw her and called the cops.”
You went quiet, having nothing more to say. This was one of the stupidest things that Sam has ever done. You would rather have her defacing school property while under the influence than being so close to putting other’s lives in danger, including her own.
“Does the mother want to press charges?”
“Lucky for Sam, no. They don’t.”
“Okay, thank you, Deputy. I’ll be there as soon as I can.”
Arriving at the precinct in record time, you parked your car to the side and turned off the engine. The officer at the desk barely acknowledged your presence, used to your face showing up. One of these days, you may start joking that the police station has become your second home with the way Sam has been acting.
Deputy Hicks looked up from her paperwork when she saw you, “She’s over there.” She tilts her head to the side in lieu of hello.
You ignore the sympathetic glance she gives, “Thank you, Deputy.”
Sam sits in a chair in the corner of the room, looking up at the ceiling, hands folded above her lap. She’s still affected by the drugs. It’s as plain as her mud-covered shirt. She sees you and beams, “Y/n! You came.”
You try to ignore the fluttering feeling in your stomach when she directs her gaze towards you. You’ve had a crush on Sam for a while now, though, you don’t plan on doing anything about it, fearing that it might compromise your friendship. It’s not a right time for feelings either. The two of you will be off to college in less than two years and as your mother put it, it’s best to not be in a relationship when your future is on the line.
Wait, why are you entertaining the idea of possibly being in a relationship with Sam when it’s very clear that she doesn’t like you back?
“Y/n?” Sam waves her hand in front of your face, snapping you out of your thoughts.
Sam’s in the precinct, you remind yourself, you’re mad. This is not healthy anymore.
“Just get up, Samantha.” You say coolly, urging Sam to go ahead of you.
“Jeez, you look pissed.”
“That’s because I am.”
Sam rolls her eyes, “Okay, sorry.”
You’re starting to not believe the words that come out of her mouth. Even if Sam is sorry, she’s not exactly trying to get better.
Deputy Hicks grabs your arm at the same time you were about to head out with Sam. “Y/n, wait, I need to talk to you.” She sees you look towards Sam and adds, “Alone, please.”
“Go wait in the car.” You stare at Sam directly but you don’t look at her. Her breath hitches and you have to ignore how your heart clenches at the sight of her being crestfallen.
Sam holds her hand out. You gave her a questioning look. “Keys?”
You weigh out your options. On one hand, Sam is still experiencing the effects of the drug she took. On the other, you knew she wouldn’t put her life in danger - okay, well, that’s debatable. Sam is… Sam. She’s not completely irresponsible. You trust her. “Don’t do anything stupid.” You toss the keys, watching as she catches them effortlessly.
Sam lets out a sigh of relief upon seeing that your trust isn’t completely lost. “Got it.”
The moment Sam is out of sight, Deputy Hicks releases the grip she had on your arm, eyes softening after taking in your appearance. You don’t squirm under her gaze, having learned from experience that you don’t look so great when you don’t fix your hair before going out. “Look,” She starts, “You’re a good kid. You get good grades, you stay out of trouble, and I know you care about Sam, but-”
“With all due respect, Deputy, I think you should stop before you say what I think you’re thinking.” Your mood shifts, gaze hardening. When other people think of Sam as nothing more than a delinquent, they tend to make judgments based on what they see. They don’t think about what is really going on. They don’t know her. Deputy Hicks doesn’t like Sam. You know that much. But you’re not gonna let her talk shit about your best friend when she isn’t even aware of the full story.
Deputy Hicks doesn’t heed your advice. She goes on. “She’s trouble, that’s what I’m getting at. You have a bright future ahead of you, Y/n. Don’t let her ruin it.”
“She’s not ruining anything.” You argue.
“I know that you missed a test last week because you had to bail her out. It’s why - and I’m only assuming this - you stayed up all night studying for said test because the school gave you a second chance. I know that you will probably spend the rest of your morning taking care of Sam. You’ll go over to her house, take care of her and her sister Tara because their mother is barely around. I get it, trust me. However, I know how this goes. Trust me when I say that you’re better off without her.”
You don’t think too hard about what the deputy just said. “I know myself better than you know me. I’m not going to stay away from her because you said so. You’re not my mother.”
Deputy Hicks runs a hand across her face, knowing that she wasn’t going to get through to you. “Maybe not. But I am a mother. I know I wouldn’t let my kid go around like this.”
“Goodbye, Deputy.” You dismiss, turning to walk out the door with nothing more to say. Deep down, you knew she was right. You didn’t want to acknowledge it, though.
“If you find out who gave her the drugs, will you give us a call?” The deputy asks, changing the subject.
Your body goes stiff when the feeling of rage wakes the part in you that you so carefully hid from the world. It’s here again, stronger than ever. The blood in your body is boiling with anger, that urge to hurt someone in order to make it all quiet. You haven’t felt like this in a while.
Breathe.
In.
Out.
“Will do.” You plaster a fake smile. Needing to get out of this place as soon as you can, you sprint towards your car, opening the door, forgetting that Sam is inside. Ragged breaths come out of your body, throat clenching due to the never-ending thoughts swirling in your fucked up brain.
“Y/n?”
“SHIT!” You get startled by Sam’s voice.
“Hey, it’s okay, I’m okay.” She reassures, right hand resting on your shoulder. “Look at me.” When you don’t do what she says, Sam takes on a firmer tone. “Y/n, look at me. Listen to my voice.”
Her voice is soothing to your ears, driving away that anger; a remedy to whatever is happening inside your head. “Sam,” Your voice breaks when you say her name. “You can’t keep doing this. You have to talk to me instead of getting your hands on every stupid drug that ever existed. If you don’t want to explain it to me, then at least talk to someone. Please, Sam. You have to help yourself. There’s only so much I can manage and… I don’t want to do something I can’t take back.” Murder. The thing that’s left unsaid. You don’t want to have to murder the people causing this, but if it will help Sam, then…
Fuck. No.
You’ve thought about it for sure. You just never got to a point where you are actually considering doing the act.
Sam’s brows furrow, “You’re scared of saying shit to me? Is that what you mean? You don’t have to clean up my messes all the damn time. I’m not making you do this.”
“Sam, that’s not what I meant.”
“Then what did you mean?”
“I meant that I don’t want to be the person who tells Tara her sister is gone because she did something she shouldn’t have,” You lie. If you can’t make her understand things in your perspective, maybe bringing up Tara will make a difference. “Tara will be heartbroken, Sam. She doesn’t want to lose you too.”
That part is true. You spoke to Tara a few nights back when you saw her curled up on the living room couch, waiting for Sam to come home. After you guided Sam to her bedroom, you went downstairs to check on Tara, asking her what she was doing up. She told you everything she knew and felt, including how worried she was about Sam. It is not something a ten-year-old should have to feel, but then again, she can’t know why this is happening. She’s too young to understand.
Sam glances down, looking remorseful. What you said made her partially aware of how this was also affecting Tara. “I’m sorry.”
“Do better. That’s all I’m asking you. Promise me you’ll try.”
“I am trying. You have to know. I am doing better.”
“And what happened today was, what, a mistake? You say the same speech whenever you get caught. I’ll believe you when I see that you’ve actually been trying, because this? This is not what trying looks like.” The way you speak sounds harsher than intended. You should really listen to what your guidance councilor says. Bottling up your feelings will only make things worse. Word by word exits your mouth like a flood that you feel powerless against. Tears stream down Sam’s face as soon as her brain echoes what you were saying.
You were never this upset at her. Hearing you like this guided her in realizing how royally she fucked things up.
“I’m sorry.”
You can’t fight your own tears anymore. The two of you cry in front of each other, aware that although you were physically near, you could not be more far apart. You cry until there are no tears left, cry until your throat is aching and your heart feels like it has been sliced a thousand times by tiny daggers, leaving wounds that would take a long time to heal.
But it feels like a step in the right direction. Somehow, you knew you both were going to be okay.
You held that thought until Sam explained what went down last night.
“I swear I was going to get clean. But then, he approached me, said that he needed money. He didn’t look well, so I took the drugs. He said I didn’t have to take them - that I can throw them away and that he’ll pay me back as soon as he can, but I wanted it. The drugs. They were right in front of me. So, I told myself that it was going to be the last time. I was only fooling myself.” Sam said. “That’s not going to happen again. I’ll get help. For real this time. I promise.”
You stare at the roof of the car, closing your eyes in order to think clearly. “Sam,” You say nonchalantly compared to the tone you used earlier. “Give me a name.”
Sam’s eyes widen, “What?”
“Give me the name of the guy who gave you the drugs.”
She chuckles awkwardly, “Why does it matter? What are you going to do to him?”
“Nothing! I don’t kill people. You know that! I just want to turn him in, is all.” You were stunned by how convincing you sounded.
Sam seemed to believe you. Her shoulders relaxed a bit, the tension in them gone, “Jacob Parker.” She pauses, “Don’t let the cops be too harsh on him. He’s only trying to help his family.”
You purse your lips, “You know I can’t promise anything, Sam.” Sam appears despondent but she doesn’t speak another word. “So… Jacob Parker.” You repeat, testing how the name sounded coming from your mouth. “Thank you.”
Your smile is alarming. “You look psychotic.” Sam says plainly, shaking her head. “Stop that. It’s creepy.”
You put your hands up in surrender, “My apologies.”
“Get us home already.”
You don’t make a move to start driving, deciding to talk to Sam longer. “We’re not done with this conversation yet.”
“I know.”
“We still have a lot to work on.”
“I know.”
“But you’re going to be okay.”
“We’re going to be okay.” Sam corrects. “You and me against the world, right?”
“Damn right.”
You let silence go by on the way to the Carpenters’ residence. The air is lighter now, relieved of the tension that was around before your conversation with Sam. You were pleased by the outcome of this day, no matter how early it still is.
-
You shouldn’t.
You really shouldn’t.
If someone had told you two years ago that you’d be outside Jacob Parker’s house wearing a Ghostface costume, you would have shit your pants while laughing maniacally, but you’re here, doing exactly that.
It’s 4 am, which means that the sun will come up soon, giving you an hour to get the job done or else it will all be fucked and you’d have gone through trouble for nothing.
The house itself was pretty neat. It had a white picket fence and a yard three times bigger than your room. Sam was wrong. Jacob has it good. That motherfucker lied to her. You can’t blame Sam for having a kind heart. She got taken advantage of. That’s not on her. It’s on the guy who saw her vulnerability and turned it into a business opportunity.
Your disdain takes over whatever ounce of hesitation left within you. You have to do this. You have to protect Sam. You’re doing this for her. This is the only way you can protect her.
Plucking out a burner phone from your pocket, you dial Jacob’s number, the one you asked Sam for prior to leaving her house. You turn on your voice changer and press the call button, waiting for Jacob to pick up his phone.
It took three rings, but eventually, the boy answered, a bit disoriented, “Hello?”
“Hello, Jacob.”
You can hear Jacob shuffling around, dazed. “Who is this?”
“Let’s play a game, shall we? I give you ten seconds to hide and if I find you, I’ll gut you like a fish.” You say cheerily, moving towards the house. The back door is the most favorable option, seeing that it wasn’t locked. Idiot, you thought. There’s no car parked in the garage or in front of the house, which implies that his parents aren’t home. Is it this easy?
“Look, I don’t know who you are or why you’re having the Ghostface voice, but that’s not how they usually speak in the movies. They don’t play hide and seek.”
You’re positive he can see you smiling through your words even if you’re not in front of him, “Ah. A fan of slashers, I see . . . What’s your favorite scary movie, Jacob?”
“There. Now you got it.”
His breathing is too relaxed, indicating that he’s not moving, possibly not counting you as a threat. You slide open the door as quietly as you can, ambling through the stairway leading up to the second floor. Jacob’s room is very hard to miss. There’s a big sign on the wooden door that spells out his name in bold, cursive letters. Your eyes scan through details of this place, looking for one you can use to scare him.
A picture frame on the counter with him and a little boy. He has a brother. You remember, overhearing a gossip from school that his brother was sick. There’s a rumor that went around about how that is the reason why he’s selling drugs. His family is loaded, so it can’t be about money. It’s about finding a distraction.
You read the writing on top of the frame.
“Jacob and Barry”
That’s the same moment you notice another door next to Jacob’s room.
Bartholomew.
You walk over there first, peeking inside the room. On a bed lays Barry, wires hooked into his body, a machine next to him, displaying his heartbeat. You almost feel bad about what you’re going to do.
Almost.
“Give me an answer or else I’ll cut Barry’s head off! You wouldn’t mind if a few years gets removed from his lifespan, right? After all, he’s already sick. Might as well stop his suffering.”
“NO!” You hear hurried footsteps coming from the other room, no doubt that it’s Jacob on his way to save his little brother from his own end, not knowing that it secured his. “Don’t touch him, I swear to God! You better not! I’ll do anything, please!”
“I’ll ask again. What is your favorite scary movie?”
“STAB 5! THERE! I SAID IT! NOW LEAVE HIM ALONE!”
As soon as he steps out of the room, you shove him against the wall and plunge your knife into his stomach, twisting it until the blood begins to pour out. You use your free hand to cover his mouth, muffling his screams. “Stab 5 was the worst movie of the entire franchise! It’s no one’s favorite!” You pull out your knife for a moment before driving it into his shoulder.
You glance at the blood on your hands in awe. It was a dream come true. You could not apprehend how so much blood can reside in one body, taking your time in watching Jacob bleed out in front of you, the voice in your head quiet at long last. The rapture followed. He can’t hurt Sam anymore. “This is what losers such as yourself get.” You state, withdrawing your hand from his mouth.
Jacob’s eyes are silently pleading. “I don’t know what I did to deserve this, but Barry is innocent. Don’t hurt him. You owe me that. He’s my family.”
“I don’t owe you shit!” You laugh incredulously, “No one owes you anything! I don’t give a shit about your family. You messed with mine first.”
“W-what?”
You don’t give him a response, perforating his heart with your blade.
His head lolls to the side, staring at nothing in particular.
That’s one less person who can hurt Sam.
The thrill of the kill sticks with you long after you went home to clean yourself up, ensuring that you left no trace behind. You got rid of the body, of course, so the police doesn’t suspect that another psychopathic Ghostface is on the lose.
You’d do anything to protect Sam.
It’s all for her.
Unbeknownst to you, Sam saw the full extent of what you were capable of doing - adding another name to her list of fucked up connections.
-
[May 2015]
“It’s not gonna work, Sam.” The ghost or hallucination (depending on who you’re asking) of Billy Loomis states, standing behind Sam, their eyes locking in the bathroom mirror. He has a calm exterior, as if he knows what’s about to happen to Sam before the latter can begin to think. “You can’t avoid her forever. She killed someone. Acknowledge it.”
Sam opens a bottle, taking out an antipsychotic pill, shoving it into her mouth without hesitation. “I have acknowledged it. She killed the guy who gave me drugs.”
Billy shoots her a no-nonsense stare, “That’s not what I’m talking about.”
“Okay, then speak to me since you’re such a know-it-all.” Sam clenches her fists, “You’re not even real.”
“Aren’t I?” Billy challenges. “Wanna hear the truth, Samantha? Here it is: the murder is not what bothers you. What bothers you is the fact that it doesn’t. You would care if it was an innocent person, but Jacob wasn’t an innocent. He manipulated you, knowing damn well you have a problem. You feel relief that he’s dead, but you’re guilty because you think that his blood is on your hands, thinking that you’re the reason Y/n did what she did. You don’t want to destroy her.”
Sam’s throat clenches, knowing Billy was right. However, that doesn’t mean she’s happy about it. “Shut up.”
“You’re the one who wanted the truth. I’m giving it to you.” Just when Sam thinks he’s done talking, he goes on, similar to a man on a rampage (which he has really done before he died). “You did not corrupt her. It is not your fault. That girl you’re in love with - oh, don’t give me that look - has had a darkness inside her that existed before you came into her life. The same darkness that you and I have; the only difference being that she’s not doing it out of revenge like I did. She does it for you, which makes it difficult for you to understand your feelings because you believe that if you accept her for who she is, you will go crazy. That maybe she’ll convince you to kill for her or something. She won’t. You know that. You are just afraid.
“Crazy runs in our blood. One day you are gonna stop fighting and accept who you are. The only choice that is presented to you right now is you either accept her for who she is or push her away.”
“You say that as if murder is something simple.” Sam scoffs.
“You will forever have an argument against the things I say because I’m a murderer. That’s who I am to you. But what do you truly believe, Sam?”
Sam (surprisingly) simply shrugs defeatedly, “I don’t know.”
“Well, figure it out. Must I remind you that she’s leaving. Today.”
At the mention of your departure, Sam shows her father an emotion other than ire. “That’s today?” She blinks and sees that Billy was no longer there. Quickly, she checks her phone and see what the date says. “Fuck.” She grumbles, rushing out the house like lightning.
-
You look out your window for the umpteenth time, hoping that somehow, she will show up. The last time you spoke was three weeks ago. It’s like she’s purposely pulling away from you and you have no idea why. Though Sam was true to her word and stopped getting herself into trouble, she decided to talk to everyone but you. You gave her space while you thought about what you could have done wrong. When you bumped into her at school (which was unexpected since she has been doing a good job at using alternative routes to her classes just to avoid you), you told her you were leaving.
You got accepted at NYU and were leaving earlier than expected. New York is about as far from Woodsboro as you can get. You can’t wait to leave this place yet there is someone you don’t want to leave behind. You don’t want to leave Sam, but you know that eventually, everyone leaves. You would only be putting off the inevitable.
As for the Jacob situation, the cops never found out who did it. They assumed he ran away (you grabbed a suitcase with you that belonged to him and put clothes and essentials into it). That was all. Cased closed. Simple as that.
You don’t feel an ounce of remorse. Even so, from time to time, you get nightmares. You don’t remember much from them. The only things you know is that you wake up sweating, your heart racing, and tears stream down your face at the same time a name makes its way out your mouth, sounding like a prayer. Sam.
“She’s not coming.” Your mother says sympathetically.
You forgot she was standing near the doorway, watching you pack your things. “She will.” You’re sure. Sam was many things, but time showed that even if she was upset at you, she would still show up for the events that matter. And this, moving to New York, was a big change. She wouldn’t dare miss it. “I know she will.” You say, determined.
“Okay.” Your mother nods. She opens her mouth to speak, but Sam appears by the doorway, sweat dripping from her forehead, both hands on her knees as she caught her breath. “I stand corrected.” M/n grins, “Sam.”
“Good morning, Mrs. L/n.” Sam breathes out, chest rising and falling rapidly.
“I’ll leave you two alone for a moment.” M/n lightly shoves Sam inside the room so that she can close the door.
“Did you run here?” You asked, amused. Walking over to your nightstand, you grabbed an unopened water bottle and handed it to Sam, who downed the drink in one gulp.
“Sure did.” Sam wipes her sweat with the back of her hand. She sits next to you on the bed, shuffling her fingers, something you knew she does whenever she gets anxious. “I’m sorry for avoiding you these last few months…” It’s because I followed you to Jacob’s house without you knowing and I saw you kill him for me.
One look at her and you knew she knew. The one thing you’re good at other than stabbing is reading Samantha Carpenter. You’ve spent so much time memorizing her that you knew immediately. You don’t know what to say except “It’s not your fault, Sam. Please know that. It was my choice. You didn’t force me to do it.”
“Why did you?” Sam asks, unsurprised by how quickly you caught on. She didn’t make a move to step away from you because she wasn’t afraid. She never was. That never changed.
“You probably don’t understand, but there’s this… thing that has always been a part of me. I could control it most times but when I can’t, I hurt people. There’s so much noise going on in my head. The two things that can pull me out of that is by inflicting pain onto others or just being in your presence. I know it’s fucked up. I would much rather choose the latter every time, but I can’t. When Deputy Hicks asked me to give her a call if I found out who sold you the drugs, that anger came back. Maybe it never left. I don’t know. I did what I did because I thought that if he’s not there anymore, nothing can hurt you again. It’s stupid. I know. I’m sorry.”
Sam does the last thing you expected her to do. She kisses you, her hands going to the sides of your face, cupping them gently, afraid that you would break.
You freeze, unable to form a response.
What the fuck?
Sam kissed you.
You grin from ear to ear, surprised by the action, but not deeming it unwelcome.
Sam pulls away, mortified, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that. I thought you-”
You cut her off, “Shut up and kiss me again.”
She wastes no time in closing the gap, reconnecting your lips once more. Your hands went to her waist, needing her to be as close to you as possible. This time, you kiss her back passionately. You’ve had many roles in your life, but nothing felt as right as being the one to kiss Sam Carpenter. You were made for her.
Sooner than what you wanted, Sam pulled away. You open your mouth to protest but she presses a finger to your lips. “If we don’t stop kissing, we’ll run out of air.”
You scrunch your nose, “I don’t know, Carpenter. Dying in your arms doesn’t sound too bad.”
Sam shakes her head fondly, “God, you’re such a dork.”
“You like me, though, right?” You asked jokingly even though deep down, you were quite unsure.
“Yes, of course I like you.”
“I like you too.” You say immediately, satisfied with the answer.
After a while of kissing and… more kissing, you lay beside each other, doing nothing in particular except staring at the ceiling. You break the silence. “So what now?”
Sam ponders the question, “Now… You go to New York.”
You roll over to the side, propped up on one elbow, using your free hand to brush hair away from her face. “What about us?”
“We’ll see each other again.” She asserts, placing a kiss on top of your head.
“How can you be so sure?”
“Because I do understand. More than anyone.”
She rolls you over on your back in a mission to kiss you for as long as time allows it. Caught up in the moment, you fail to question what her words meant. Your mind fills with thoughts that consist of how perfect this moment feels. There was noise, yes, but they lie in the form of the most beauteous poems. Samantha Carpenter gives you clarity yet she is capable of bringing you down to ruins. The best part is that you’d let her. You would authorize her to bring out a sentence; to amplify the light inside of you or to let the madness consume you both. Regardless of the outcome, you would not mourn the debris that would rain down upon you. For the sweetest poison is in the form of her lips.

[August 2022]
You were scanning mountains of paperwork when your phone buzzes. Although normally, you would let it ring until whoever is calling realizes that you are occupied, the name that flashes on the screen makes you think twice. Pressing the green button to accept the call, you bring the phone to your ear, anticipation bubbling inside your veins.
The voice that comes from the device is not the one you were hoping to hear. It sounds eerie, sending a chill up your spine.
“What’s your favorite scary movie?”
[The End.]

would you mind making a mini fic of the photo booth incident with minchan with prompts #2 8 12 & 19???
Of course! I was actually thinking about writing it. I think Minho might have PTSD from all these photo booth incidents… Enjoy! (A little angst at the end I guess)
Tumblr media
•• ━━━━━━━ •• ❖ •• ━━━━━━━ ••
2 “wait! wait! i didn’t have enough time to prepare!”
8 “can you stop laughing? i’m trying to talk to you. how rude!”

19 “i’ll never talk to you ever again.”

•• ━━━━━━━ •• ❖ •• ━━━━━━━ ••
“Yah, why are you being like this” the leader scoffed, shoving Minho off his shoulder.
No matter how surprising this might sound, but the second oldest had forced Chan out of his dorm to hang out with him. Who could’ve though that the Lee Know would be the one begging to go out? Wonder why he would do that…
To say the truth, the mischevious bunny had woken up in a massive lee mood. And he felt like only Channie could satisfy it. Hypothetically, he could have asked Han to wreck him, but Minho just felt like Jisung’s tickles would not do the job. He was just stubborn like that.
Thanks to his mood, the dancer could not help but be all cute and clingy toward the older “Let’s go get ice cream, Channie-hyung~” Minho whined straight into the kangaroos ear for the hundredth time.
“Alright, Minnie, that is enough. What is up with you?” the aussie finally ran out of patience “Huh? Nothing, hyung. What could be wrong?” the cat lover naively answered, his boba eyes big and mouth slighly open in confusion.
Even though the leader, eventually, agreed to eat the bunny’s desired desert, he still remained suspicious of his bandmate’s strange behaviour.
Soon, Minchan were walking out of the shop with a an ice cream cone in each one’s hand “Is it good?” Chan asked, looking at Lee Know’s cone “No. Channie-hyung, you have your own ice cream. Don’t even try to bite mine.” Minho angrily rambled “Where’s the cute, clingy Minnie that was here just 20 minutes ago?” The leader of danceracha turned red at the comment “Shut up!”
They kept on walking until something cought the wolf’s attention “Is that a photo booth? I haven’t been in one ever since I was a teenager!” Chan childlishly giggled, dragging his grumpy companion by his arm “9000 won(thats’s 6.3eur)… Hyung, that’s like, expensive.” the bunny mumbled, looking at the price table “What? That’s pretty average, Minho” the older furrowed his eyebrows, digging thru his wallet.
Once the kangaroo took out the neccesary amount, he agressively showed the cat man into the tight space “Yah! Calm down, what’s wrong with you…” Lee Know whined, rubbing his shoulder which had been smashed into the thin metal wall “Ugh, this we’re going to be so cramped in here. Finish up your ice cream, quick!” Chan said, sitting down himself and getting the bills and coins out of the jacket pocket.
Like Channie had mentioned, there was not enought space for two grown men. So, he did the only thing he could think of “Come on, sit on my lap.” the leader instructed “WHAT?! No! That’s so weird…” Minho dramatically yelled. Can you blame him? He was afraid to trigger his mood even more. One arm around his sensitive waist would make his jump so high that he would bump his head on the ceiling of the photo booth.
“Why are you making such a fuss? We can’t fit in any other way. Just put one leg on my thigh. You know, partially sit on me. This doesn’t have to be strange if we don’t make it like that.” the mischevious bunny gave in, situating himself on his hyungs lap.
“See? Not that bad, is it? Why were you so dramatic anyway~” the aussie teased, lighly poking the taller’s sides. Like I mentioned earlier, that did end up eliciting quite a reaction…
The younger violently flinched, pushing the older’s hands away “What was thahat…? I didn’t think you were that ticklish…~” Oh, Channie was going to take advantage of their current position so badly “D-Don’t please. Let’s just tahahake the pictures and goho, Channie-hyung.” said man just smirked, only pulling his victim deeper into his hold.
“You know, I don’t understand how you were being so silly and adorable all day long, just to chicken out now. Why don’t you annoy me now? Huh? Are you, perhaps, afraid of the tickle monster?~” Lee Know could feel his ears reddening up at the wolf’s skilfull teasing “No, I’m n-not.” this was his last chance to avoid what this situation could, pottentialy turn into “Come on, let me see that smile!” In a desperate act, he covered his hot ears with his hands. Unfortunately, he handn’t though about the vulnerable position he would put himself in after doing that…
Not even a second after the dancer accidentally exposed most of his torso, the kangaroo harshly dug into Minho’s sides“Wait! Wait! I didn’t have enough time to prepare!” Chan just snickered, switching to the younger’s ribs “Come on, you’re gonna have to try harder to hide the fact that you like this than that~” the tickler pointed out. He was right though, the cat lover handn’t really moved his hands from the spot he was covering.
“IHIHIHIHI DOHOHOHOHON’T LIHIHIHIKE THIHIHIS, STOHOHOHOP!” Chan stopped tormenting his ribs and instead opted for quickly spidering and switching between the younger’s side, ribs and armpits “YOUHU’RE CRAHAHAHAZY!” it all soon became a bit too unbearable for the poor lee, as he had to bring down his arms to protect his sensitive torso.
“Oh, so now you’re trying to stop me? And you’re calling me crazy? Let’s see how like this then~” the aussie gripped the rabbit’s thighs, squeezing so quickly that Lee Know honestly thought he was about to ascend “NOHOHOHOHOHO PLEHEHEHEHEASE CHAHAHAHAHANIE! MIHIHSTED BAHAHANG! CHRIHIHIHSTOPHER!” the poor boy called out every single name to make he could.
“That’s my name, don’t wear it out! Wow, I don’t remeber your legs being that ticklish… What do you think about your knees? Would those be bad?” the elder teased, never letting go of the sensitive body part “ANYWHEHEHEHERE BUHUHT MY KNHEHEHES PLEHEHEHEHEASE!” the bratty cat lover tried to maneuver his way out of the situation.
“Nah, I think I’ll go just for your knees!” the older’s crazy fingers latched on firmly on to the mentioned spot, which was crazy ticklish “ANOTHEHEHEHER SPOHOHOHOT, ANO-ANOTHEHEHEHER SOHOHOT PLEHEHEASE” the dancer begged, leaning back all the way onto Chan “I didn’t hear a stop~” the leader mumbled into his dongsaeng’s back, only making the whole situation even more ticklish.
The wolf kept on switching tactics. Sometimes he would tickle the soft bottom of the knee, then he would claw at the equally as sensitive top. The worst was when he would use both hands on one knee “BAHAHAHAHAHAHA CHAHAHAN, I-I CAHAHAHAHAHAN’T” Lee Know shined through his hysteric laughter “Can you stop laughing? I’m trying to talk to you. how rude!”
The way that the aussie’s fingers stuck to Lee Know’s kneecaps made the victim crazy. He was sweaty, giggly, had messy hair, tears running down his neck. Did I mention his wine-red ears and face? Every single vein in his body was popping due to the uncontrollable cackles that kept on leaving his throat.
“Alright, I don’t want you to actually die. Yet.” the kangaroo lifted his torturous fingers, switching from mercilessly squeezing the taller’s knees with them to massaging Minho’s back with them “Wait, c-cahan you not stop here? I-I was liking this…” Minho shyly admitted.
“Oh? You want me to continue?” Chan dug into the muscle of Lee Know’s back, which wasn’t as ticklish as anywhere else, but was enough to elicit some cute giggles and squirms “Yehehehes, juhuhuhuhst lihihke thahahaht…!”
“Wow, your ears are soooo red, mister Lee. You should cover them up and keep your arms there before the tickle monster get them!” the childish teases were making the rabbit’s stomach do flips. He did listen though.
However, obeying Chan’s orders was a pretty rookie move. Once his arms were ocupied with protecting his sensitive ears, the aussie dug into the dancer’s hips, making him mive and twitch like a tube man “CHAHAHANIE PLEHEHEHEHEASE! NOHOHOHOHO” his pleads were totally ignored. I mean, why would Chan stop? His victim’s hands were not even trying to disturb him. They were still stuck on Lee Know’s ears.
“I think that’s enough now, Minho. You’re gonna pee yourself…” the wolf giggled “Yah! I’m not six years old!” the dancer protested, slapping his only hyung’s chest “Nof a six year old? You’re the one that enjoyed every second of this!” the leader pointed out.
Apparently the older’s joke wasn’t so funny to the cat lover “You think it’s weird, do you?” Minho sighed, starting to get off the kangaroo’s lap, thinking he migh be uncomfortable now that he knows the truth “Wait, wait, wait! It’s nor weird! It’s sooo very cute. Like, Minho. That is the most adorable thing I’ve heard ever. I’m so glad that you like this!” the leader reassured, forcing Lee Know back onto his lap.
“I was scared for a second… Although I don’t think I’m gonna be safe from your tickles ever again” the mischevious bunny commented “Now that I know that you enjoy this, prepare yourself for at least 3 or 4 tickle sessions daily.” the second oldest’s eyes quickly filled up with fear, as he scrambled away as fast he could out of the vulnerable position he was in. “I’ll never talk to you again”
Or will he…?
•• ━━━━━━━ •• ❖ •• ━━━━━━━ ••
This one is shorter, but I think it’s pretty good! I live, laugh, love for lee!know. It’s even in his name! Happy holidays❤️🙂

“Hello, Traitor.”
How?
How, how, how? How can she be in here?
I just got used to the fact that my Bentley has angelic protection now. And that protection didn't fade away when my angel left for Heaven. Demons can't be in here; they’d have to be invited in.
Shax obviously can. “I was going to pull you down to my new office, as it seems befitting for my new position. But you’re so miserable already, I didn’t want to drag you out of your safe space."
No, you just wanna throw it right into my face that you can be in said safe space without any consequences. Don't think I don't recognize your tactics.
"Besides, Hell doesn’t need to know about our little talk, do they?”
"Oh, are we having a talk?" Slouching in my seat I lean back, giving her my cheekiest smirk. Oh, I can feel her new powers emanating from her and I don't know what she's capable of, but there's no way in Hell, I'll show her any fear. Two can play this game.
"We are. I brought chocolates."
"Chocolates?" My face freezes again, this time with astonishment. "You honestly think, I can be won over with chocolates?"
She eyes me from the side. "Well, my first intent was using death threats, but after watching you cry and whine and sob all these last months, I didn't think you would mind discorporation or even destruction so much. If I threatened you, you'd probably respond with something like: 'I don't want to live without my angel!' or 'Please kill me already.' So, I decided not to do you that favour.”
All these last months watching Crowley TV? “Oh, so glad, I could contribute to your amusement with my misery.”
“You couldn’t. Although my associate quite enjoyed seeing you like this... Oh, that was sarcasm, wasn’t it? I’m getting very good at spotting it.”
“Oh, are you? My sincerest congratulations on making Duchess of Hell, then.”
“Thank you.” Shax looks very pleased with herself. “Finally, the next step in my career. Beelzebub was right about their departure offering chances. It won’t stop at this stage, though. I have great plans for my future.”
“Lemme guess.” I take a closer look at the box of chocolates lying on the dashboard. “Grand Duchess of Hell, Princess of Hell, Mother of Demons…”
She brought schnapspralinen. What am I gonna be, a kangaroo? Oh, but there’s whiskey and rum and vodka and ouzo and eau de vie and sake... oh, my! Pity, they aren’t full bottles, just tiny sips covered in chocolate.
“You’ve been out of Hell for a while.” Shax frowns, her giant face hovering over me. “But you do remember that demons don’t have… Crowley, what are you doing?”
“Right.” It’s all just a question of size, isn’t it? I’ll think, I’ll start with that round piece of cherry brandy. Ngk… why does that stupid pen have to be so heavy? And… bam! Nice little holey hole! Keep the good stuff flowing.
“Crowley! Will you stop this nonsense?”
She reaches for me, but I’m quicker, jumping down on the steering wheel to evade her hand. “What? A gift is a gift!”
“I want you to work for me, Crowley. You’ll get to be Duke of Hell, once I’m Grand Duchess. And you can have your flat back.”
“The Bentley’s fine. Lots and lots and lots of space for me to enjoy.” I slide down on one side of the steering wheel (hey, this is fun) and start to climb over the radio to get back on the dashboard.
This time, she’s quicker. Her hand comes down on me and she grabs me between her gloved fingers. “I could just squash you like a bug.”
“Right.” Tiny little tears spurt from my eyes. “My angel has left me for Heaven, please be merciful and end my suffering.”
“No. Stop being so pathetic.” She sets me down and I reach for the pen again. Your vodka’s mine, you pear-shaped piece of brittle chocolate. Hand it over right now!
There’s simply no way in Heaven or Hell I’m having the rest of this conversation sober.

If you could book a flight tomorrow to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
日本 - Japan. Easy.
I have been in awe of the Japanese culture since 2006 if not even beforehand. Visiting Japan has been on my bucket list ever since. I moved across the country for senior year of high school, and the high school I ended up in had Japanese as one of the languages available to take. Once I graduated, I went straight to university where I took another year and a half of Japanese before my class schedule no longer held adequate space for me to continue.
My dream vacation would be during cherry blossom season as cherry blossoms are my favorite flower. The delicate pink blooming as winter turns to spring brings a sense of renewal and beauty that comes after so long without it.
Otherwise, I would love to visit during the summer months and attend as many festivals as I can across the land. Between Hokkaido and Osaka and everywhere else. I want to try the food, experience the ambiance, and just envelope myself in the culture.
During the summer, Hokkaido has these lavender fields that are absolutely stunning from the images I've seen. I want to go and just frolic (though I'm sure frolicking would be frowned upon). There's lavender Jell-O, ice cream, tea, and just all the goodies.
Visiting Japan is absolutely going to also be a foodie tour as well. I love me some good fish and sushi. I am usually ok with trying anything at least once (it's how I've had kangaroo, but that's a different story).
Don't get me started on the anime and Pokémon either! I would spend so much stuff. I've heard that if you ever plan to visit Japan that it's wise to bring a second suitcase (that has a 3rd one in it) when you go, just to have enough luggage to bring back all the goodies you'll buy while visiting. I really enjoy いせかい (isekai) anime - something about being dropped into another world with new powers and having to survive just seems quite interesting to me, even though I know that I absolutely would not survive if that happened to me.
But, I think that's enough of me going on about my dream trip. If I had the opportunity to go tomorrow, I would, but I'm still looking at probably a few years before I'll be able to afford such a trip. Gives me plenty of time to plan and prep though!
Thanks for reading,
Daxx

———  BASICS! ♡
(PEN)NAME:  Saro
PRONOUNS: she/her
ZODIAC SIGN: libra
TAKEN OR SINGLE: single
———  THREE  FACTS! ♡
1 - i love learning cool science and history things, no matter how random. random trivia or nerding out about things you find interesting are generally the way to my heart.
2 - it makes my skin crawl that so much of school is electronic based now. the thought of tablets instead of physical textbooks hurts my soul.
3 - i consider myself fairly adventurous, but there are three places you couldn't pay me enough to go. 1. deep sea (hahaha this is funny for reasons), 2. space, and 3. australia. [nothing against anyone from australia, but kangaroos are scary and there are too many large creatures that could and would possibly like to kill me.]
———  EXPERIENCE! ♡
PLATFORMS USED: tumblr. i dabbled in discord rp briefly after my original account was shadowbanned, but much prefer interacting here for the community feel and dash shenanigans.
PLOTTING / WINGING IT / MEMES: i generally do better with light to medium plotting, or at least having a general outline/idea where we want a thread to take us. (this isn't to discourage memes, but i find it's easier to tap into my creativity without hashing all the details out after i've been writing with a mun for a while.)
———  MUSE  PREFERENCE! ♡
GENDER: I don't have a preference here. I gravitate toward muse personalities and generally gravitate toward the quiet, broody, "many thoughts" introspective type.
MULTI OR SINGLE: both. historically muses have started out in multi settings but if i get to know and consistently enjoy writing one well enough, they're likely to become their own blog.
LEAST FAVOURITE FACECLAIM(S): I've never done anything with faceclaims.
———  FLUFF / ANGST / SMUT! ♡
FLUFF:  always, always, always!
ANGST:   USUALLY. Angst is probably my favorite thing to read or write, but it does inevitably build up and I have to switch gears from time to time to something softer.
SMUT : yes, but as i'm aggressively aro/ace irl, i tend to think of all of my muses as very adventure driven/not interested in sex until a relationship develops enough for them to be convinced otherwise. it's also largely dependent on how well i know the other mun.

Hey, do you have/do any platonic writing for Reader and Kaiba? I’m aro ace so I’m not into romance. (And frankly, Kaiba seems aggressively aro ace to me, but I understand that there are tons of girls with crushes who desperately want that to not be true, so obviously there’s a much larger market for romantic stuff.) But SOMEHOW, over the last year, I’ve developed such a squish (platonic crush) on this disaster of a man.
I just want to be friends. I want to help him make virtual reality games, and slowly grow to be friends because we have shared interests, mutually feel protective of Mokuba, and are both needlessly theatrical. Kaiba would show me the cool stuff he’s working on, and I would be suitably impressed and give good feedback like a sensible person, but also, when Kaiba tells me things like he wants to launch Duel Monsters cards into space so if there are aliens they’ll learn how to play his favorite game, I’m like, “That is ridiculous, but I love ridiculous things because I too am ridiculous. Also, that is a dope idea and you should do it immediately.”
I don’t want to fix him, I just want to largely ignore his past and have adventures and become someone he trusts. And we’ll have a great time helping each other out and problem solving for twenty years or so—at which point the Ener-D Reactor will blow up and ruin everything. I don’t know what you headcanon as happening to Kaiba at that point. Personally, I imagine he ends up being the public scapegoat for all the destruction, is bared from using his technological know-how to help the newly formed Satellite, and is found guilty in a kangaroo court. I can’t bring myself to accept that he would probably be executed, so I say he’s sentenced to live in Satellite for the rest of his days, separated from Mokuba and having lost most of his worldly possessions. (Maybe he owns a house in the area that became Satellite, and he gets to keep it and his cards?) And uh, realistically, that event will be my own downfall as well, because everyone knows I’m his friend, and heck, my name is probably in the documentation for the first Ener-D Reactor somewhere. But let’s be real, I knew from the beginning it was dangerous to befriend Seto Kaiba, and I did it anyway. 🤷‍♀️
Hi! *Waves* Thanks for reaching out! :) I can see an aro-ace reading of Kaiba. (Overall I try to be supportive of headcanons for Kaiba but an aro-ace reading is one that I can vibe with.)
First, I’m going to recommend a fic by someone else because I think it’s more what you’re looking for and I am reading and enjoying.
Acquaintances by JoeyTaylor is a reader insert focused on Kaiba and Mokuba that doesn’t have any romance at all.
Now as to me personally…
How to Trick a Sick CEO is a very short one shot that can be read as the reader being an overly meddlesome best friend. The idea was romantic partner but there’s nothing in the actual text that states that.
Maybe Someday has a reader who is Not Interested in Kaiba romantically. However Kaiba is interested in her so you might not vibe with that.
Here’s a link to all of my Kaiba centric work without any romance at all. It’s not Reader insert stuff though:
I also have some recs by other people if Kaiba centric is stuff you enjoy.
If you like my writing, I’m definitely open to writing a reader insert for Kaiba where the relationship is best friends. :)
ALSO, if you’re open to fics where the romance is Not the plot but rather a background that you can ignore, I would like to try to sell you on A Handful Of Bullet Shells. We are 50k into the story and you have to squint real hard for any romance. It’s more about the relationship developing between Kaiba and the reader ( who is working on one of his games). Right now they’ve gotten to a point where they’re friendly (and I don’t mean wink wink friendly). Eventually there will be romance but it’s not going to be the focus. (Disclaimer: I try to sell this fic because I think it’s my best work when it comes to Kaiba’s characterization but I also feel the lack of romance due to that makes it less popular.)
Also, Virtual Remains is a thriller and based on my current plans you can skip the last chapter because that’s the only place any hint of romance will show its face. (I’m not even there yet. I just don’t see any romance featuring in this until like the very very end and even skipped the romance tag because of it.)
Posting this publicly because my followers may have other platonic Kaiba recs?

🦋 mila
─────•~❉᯽❉~•─────
“Adam, I’m home!” you shout into the hallway as you shrug off your coat and put aside your keys.
The clink of the keys hitting the glass bowl on the table echoes throughout the house without a response. You pause, listening to the silence to see where your husband might be. Hearing nothing, you step foot into the kitchen to get further into the house. As you walk quietly through the kitchen, trying to minimize the clicking of your heels on the hardwood floor, you start to pick up on some rummaging from the direction of the living room.
“For fuck’s sake,” you hear a mutter and can’t stop the smile that spreads across your face at the sound of your husband’s voice.
You round the corner between the kitchen and living room, your breath catching in your throat when you see the space. Adam’s decorated the entire area in the best, spookiest Halloween decor you’ve ever seen. He’s strung LED lights from the ceiling, which are glowing a warm, soothing orange. There’s a skeleton sitting on the settee in the corner wearing overalls and a cowboy hat, a cauldron positioned on the mantle with real smoke bubbling out of the top, fake cobwebs strung across the ceiling corners and the edges of the furniture, and a carved pumpkin in the corner with two eyes and a jagged mouth which are illuminated thanks to a flickering candle inside the pumpkin. As your eyes drop down to the coffee table, you see a spread of cheeses, meats, chocolates, and fruits. All of your favorite snacks, arranged in the most beautiful charcuterie creation you’ve ever seen. Two glasses of wine rest on the table, already full and ready to be enjoyed. For the finishing touch, candles are gently glowing around the room, flooding the space with notes of warm cinnamon and apple.
“Y/N! Shit,” Adam’s voice snaps your attention over to his figure. He’s dressed in his best fall outfit, with a pair of dark blue jeans and a red flannel that hugs his body perfectly. His beard is nicely trimmed and hair is brushed back. You bite your lip in happiness. “Oh, I’m sorry, lovely, you weren’t supposed to see this until it was ready.”
You chuckle at the disappointment on his face and gesture to the room.
“Adam, this is amazing!” you say, admiring it one more time. “The decorations! I love them so much and this food! I can’t even believe it. How long have you been planning this?”
“Since last year,” he says sheepishly. “Sorry it’s not quite finished, but I got started a bit later than planned.”
You hold your hands out for him to take, wiggling your fingers to tell him what you want. He immediately takes a step forward and slides his warm fingers into yours. You pull him closer to you, resting your hands on his chest and inhaling the spice of his familiar cologne.
“It’s perfect, Adam. I couldn’t have asked for more,” you reply, raising yourself up on your tiptoes to press your lips to your husband’s.
His arms wind around your waist, pulling you against him and holding you tightly. His hands spread across your back, taking up most of the area there. You smile into his soft lips, loving the way his beard scratches your chin and tickles the top of your upper lip. You pull back regretfully and let your eyes drowsily reopen to see Adam gazing down at you with his sparkling brown doe eyes.
“Well, I hope you’re ready for more,” he says, smiling goofily as he leans over to swipe the tv remote from the mantle of the fireplace. “Because I have one more surprise.”
He clicks on the tv and you watch as the pixels light up to show you the movie he’s queued up. Your favorite. Hocus Pocus.
“Oh Adam…” you breathe out, clamping your lips together to keep from crying. “Just when I thought it couldn’t get more perfect.”
You kiss his bearded cheek before pulling away and unzipping your boots to plop down on the couch across from the tv. Now that your attention is directed at the food below you, you feel your mouth salivating with excitement. Adam hits play on the movie and takes his usual seat next to you on the couch.
“A toast?” you raise your wine glass and Adam follows suit, tilting his head again to smile at you.
It’s a small thing, but he reminds you so much of a puppy when he does that. When he gazes at you with that little endearing head tilt, like you’re his entire world, like you’re the only thing in the world that matters, the only thing worth looking at.
“To all things spooky and to us, forever and always,” you say, clinking your glass against Adam’s.
“And to all the virgins who’re gonna light candles they shouldn’t tonight,” Adam squeezes in before clinking your glass again and taking a swig of his wine.
You giggle.
“Not a problem for us, I guess,” you say, raising your eyebrows.
“Definitely not. Happily not.”
You reach for a paper plate and load it up with your favorite items on the board before leaning back to enjoy the movie. You nestle into Adam’s armpit, absorbing as much of his warmth as possible. He drapes his arm over you as he snacks on his own plate while the movie starts. You watch in silence for the first twenty minutes or so while you both fill up with delicious food and wine. You realize that you might have maybe overdone it a little more than necessary on the drinking side when you start to feel a little buzzed before Max even lights the black flame candle.
You lean forward to reach for your glass and accidentally knock it over. A gasp rises to your throat but before it can escape and before the wine can spill all over the carpet, Adam deftly catches it and places it back onto the table. You glance over at him, blinking through a bit of drunk stupor.
“You’re amazing,” you say with a giggle. “How did you do that?”
“Spidey senses,” he responds, wiggling his fingers.
You laugh and nestle back into him, resting your head on his chest. His hand absentmindedly finds your hair and gently strokes through your locks, tickling the edge of your ear and the rest of your skin. You smile as you feel him press his lips softly to the top of your head. The way you fit perfectly into the crook of Adam’s arm, his intoxicating cologne floods into your nostrils, and his warmth absorbs into your skin finds you yawning repeatedly by the time Winnifred is singing at the Halloween party in the high school. You jerk awake after nodding off.
You lean your head up and allow Adam to kiss you softly, sweetly, passionately. His hand curls around the back of your head and neck, holding you against him. His plump lips are warm and maybe a bit swollen from all the wine and body heat. They slide perfectly around your own lips and pull against them firmly. When you separate, you hum contentedly.
“Good morning, sleeping beauty,” Adam says gruffly, his late night voice beginning to come out. It grumbles through his chest and you sigh contentedly at the satisfying feeling of the vibrations through his chest.
“Hi, prince charming. Although it’s hardly morning,” you quip.
“Nah see that’s the best news,” he gestures toward the tv. “It is morning and the witches’re frying.”
“Oh damn, I slept that long?” you ask, your attention jerked toward the tv. You sit up and stick your bottom lip out to pout. “Awww, I missed the whole movie. All the good parts!”
Adam’s already staring to turn the tv off and gather up your strewn belongings from around the living room.
“No!! We have to rewind!”
“Relax, darling,” Adam says, holding his hands out. “We can rewatch it a different night. But for now, we need to get you into bed.”
“No,” you say. “I remember I fell asleep after Winnifred sang at the party. We can just rewind-”
You can’t even finish your sentence without yawning, betraying how tired you really are to both you and Adam. Adam raises his eyebrows with a knowing look and a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. You sigh, pouting again.
“Come on, lovely,” he says, holding his strong arms around for you. You hop up and curl your legs around his waist, letting him carry you like a baby up to your bedroom. “Let’s get you to sleep. I’ll clean everything up.”
He lays you down on the bed, pulling the covers up toward your chin and leaning over you to press a soft kiss to your forehead. He pulls away but your fingers catch his.
“No, clean it up tomorrow. I want to fall asleep next to my husband,” you say, yanking him back toward the bed.
Although you can’t see him in the dark, you hear him chuckle and feel him climb into bed next to you. He wraps his strong arms around your stomach and pulls you back into him, pressing a kiss to your cheek before sighing happily.
“Goodnight Adam. I love you,” you whisper into the darkness.
“Sweet dreams, Y/N. I love you too, Roo. Happy Halloween.”

Brightly Shone The Moon That Night. A Dark-Cream Christmas story.
Tumblr media
The following is a slice of life story about my Dark-Cream family at Christmas. It exists in a universe different to @zu-is-here cannon. In this universe positive emotions are not fatal to Shattered so Cross and Dream didn't rush to break the curse. It splits off around 'things will never be the same' or 'the price of happiness'. The twins were created before the last 3 chapters of Dark-Cream were drawn. Any changes to the story or changes to the characters should be accepted as being part of an alternative timeline. Thank you. Enjoy. Original cross and dream belong to jakei95 and joku blog. Original shattered dream belongs to @galacii. This design for shattered is based off the one by @zu-is-here and the Dark-Cream story is also by @zu-is-here. Most of the Story will be under the cut.
"isn't this a bit much?" the gloopy one said, as his partner wrapped a scarf around his neck.
"nope" the former guard replied "can't have you getting frost bite my love"
Dream simply rolled his eyes. "but I can't really get cold? Or even hot for that matter"
"what are you talking about? you're always hot" Cross replied with a sly smile. This earned a confused look from the smaller skeleton, as Cross carefully tied the scarf and gently folded it under Shattered's jacket. Though it became clear to Cross that Dream had twigged what he'd meant a moment later, evident by the creeping gold blush spreading across his face.
The golden guardian playful punched Cross in the shoulder. "Shush you, keep in clean in front of the little ones"
At that Cross couldn't help but smile and turn his head to his two daughters. The two were in their cot, all dressed in snuggly winter clothes, waiting for their Dad's to be done getting ready. Celest was dressed in a cosy jumper with a little bobble hat, while Luna wore a full bodied coat. Their consistent look of confusion and wonder changed into toothless smiles when their dad looked at them. (idk how teething works for skeletons..... Teeth magically form or something......also tbh they should start teething soon) it warmed Cross' soul.
His attention was drawn back to dream by the sound of metal being placed down on wood. He looked to him, seeing that he'd removed his crown band and set down on the bedside table. Dream then sighed and sagged his shoulders. "it.... It feels wrong not having something on my head"
Cross chuckled.
The 4 of them where taking a trip out today. This was something both Dream and Cross had agreed was a good idea.
Cross' eye lights travelled back to the little ones. They seemed so innocent right now, as if recent events hadn't happened. As if the last two weeks hadn't been difficult to get through.
Celest's code had been burning her a lot, to the point where she'd screamed when either of them had tried to hold her, or even touch her. As for Luna, her throat had become clogged with more gloop then ever before. So much Shattered had to use a tentacle to pull some of it out. She had surely been 5 seconds from suffocating.
It had been a fortnight of sleepless nights, screaming babies and a large amount of arguing. The stress of the situation had pushed them very far apart. Many things had been said, old wounds jabbed at, tears shed. But after a lot of long talks they had sorted out each fight. They were a lot stronger then some petty arguments. There was no room in their relationship for emotional strain......not anymore. The two loved each other, it had just been a difficult time.
In recent days, the twins seemed to have recovered to a stable state. Back to the laughing, smiling, Cow lovers. Cross never thought he'd be so happy that they'd started playing with their cow collection again.
After a long talk with his finance, the two concluded that they'd all been stuck in the void space for way to long. Even with the few rooms and furniture, it's not like there was much to do there and a serious cabin fever had developed. So while the twins were in a good place, they had to take the opportunity to spend some time together as a family.
Cross once again looked back at his partner. Only to need to do a double take. Dream was wearing a hat now. A festive white one with golden stripes running across it. It was reminiscent of a classic Santa hat, other then the colours. The fabric had black stains in several places due to where Dream had touched it. Though despite that Cross recognised it all to well. To his dismay, he felt his face slowly get warm. Their first kiss.
He could remember it clearly in his mind, the mistletoe, the hotel, Gaster sniggering in the corner. But mostly, Dream. The sweet, positive skeleton from back then was very different to the one who stood before him now. But he wouldn't have it any other way.
Remembering that day caused his blush to darken. It had truly been one of the most embarrassing, but best days of his life. Though a part of him wondered how Dream still had the hat. After everything, the hat had been saved.
"you've still got that hat?" he said, in a half teasing tone.
Shattered smirked at Cross' flushed face "of course, so many good memories".
A stream of positivity ran through him and with it, it brought a sudden, but expected twinge in his soul. It was a sharp pain, like a knife being slowly pressed in. Dream tried to ignore it but he visually flinched causing Cross to come over.
"positivity again Dreamboat?" he questioned.
Dream nodded "it's alright, I'm used to it" The guardian sensed some sadness from Cross, even if he kept a natural face.
"I'm OK Crossy, promise!"
Cross sighed and gently kissed Shattered's forehead. "if you say so my love"
With that he walked back over to the twins so that he could get their carriers. Dream sighed slightly. It was strange seeing Cross in an outfit different to his guard uniform. So much so that Dream already kind of missed it, not that Cross didn't look handsome is what he was currently wearing.
The last time the family had left the void to go shopping, (which is really a story in itself) they had been stared at from all angles. Every man, women and child. Monster or human, had taken part in watching them. Like animals in a zoo. Cross had insisted that it was the twins they were staring at, since his children were so beautiful that of course people would stare. But in the end both him and Dream knew the real reason.
They were staring at them.
He couldn't really blame them though, how often do you come across a monster with heterochromia wearing what was best described as fancy dress, accompanied by a slime covered skeleton in heels and a crown? Many things had changed since the apple incident, but people staring as he passed had not.
Today they both wanted a peaceful day with their babies, so they had opted to wear more normal clothes. Cross had traded his normal cape and jacket for a puffy white winter coat which he wore a red jumper under. Dream had opted for something similar, though a deep brown colour as to not show the stains so much. It felt odd being in a new outfit, but also very nice. There was only so long someone could take being in tight trousers and shirts with big collars.
The former guard straightened up, clutching a harness in his hands.
"these were definitely a good buy" he said, as he walked back to Dream.
Dream raised an eyebrow "did you really 'Buy' them Cross?" he said is a inquisitive tone.
Cross' body tensed and his partner gave him an sharp stare. Even without his emotion sensing ability, Dream could read Cross like a book.
"uhhhhhhh.......yes?"
"sure" Dream replyed, with slight amusement in his voice.
A nervous chuckle came from Cross. "look they were a good thing to get ok?....... Very helpful for the little ones"
Dream gave him an unsure nod. He still wasn't exactly well versed in child care, so he wasn't really sure what these harnesses where even for yet. Since he figured that the answer was probably obvious, he didn't ask.
"want me to help you get it on?" Cross asked, raising an eyebrow. Shattered wasn't the only one who could easily read his partner.
Shattered said nothing but nodded. His golden blush reappeared when Cross started to run his hands across and around his body to get the harness into place. His soul gave a tiny learch for a moment, but not one of pain.
He knew there was a part of him that wanted Cross to touch his soul again, It had been such a close experience for them both and had brought about a lot of pleasurable feelings. It was truly something he wanted to experience again. A feeling he almost craved. But he knew all to well, as his eye sockets fixed onto the cot to his right, that the potential consequences made it impossible. He was just going to have to live with these unmet desires. Just as he was sure that Cross lived with similar ones.
"there all done"
Dream jumped. Snapped out of his thoughts by his future husband's voice.
Now the harness was all attached. Not too tight, but not too lose. He could see that he now had a pocket on his chest which he guessed the baby sat in. Clever. It was kind of like a kangaroo pouch.
Cross strapped a identical carrier around his own chest and walked over to the babies cot to collect his daughters.
Luna smiled wide at the sight of him. The older skeleton matched her smile and slowly picked his child up. Luna giggled and kicked her tiny feet out as he did. Her tentacle flickered around the corners of her mouth as she laughed. Cross could feel his own joy fill him at the sight. But he nullified it for his partner's sake.
Speaking of which, he turned back to Dream.
"you wanna take Celly or Lu Lu?" he asked.
"I'll take Luna" the smaller skeleton replied "since you are already holding her". He held his arms out in an awkward, slightly unsure way.
Cross gave a soft, knowing smile "Its OK Dreamboat, I'll help you get her in the carrier"
Shattered sighed, irritated by his own incompetence and nodded.
With that Cross carefully attempted to slip the wriggling baby into her carrier. Which wasn't easy, as she cheerfully shifted her legs around. In fact Cross had a slightly hard time keeping hold of her.
After much difficulty, Cross managed to feed her legs through the leg holes and sit her safely inside. The whole time, Dream remained mostly still, he didn't want to do anything in case he ended up hurting Luna.
Once she was buckled in, Cross took a slow step back to admire his handy work. Luna bounced excitedly in her carrier and her Papa looked almost comically uncomfortable by all her movement.
"do you want me to take her Day Dream?" Cross said, upon noticing Dreams unease around the wiggling baby. Dream shook his head "no, its fine" he replied as he relaxed his shoulders. "you get Celest and we can go"
Cross gave a nod and turned back to the cot. As he went to pick up his slightly younger daughter, he noticed that she had in fact fallen asleep. Cross sighed - not again....
For most parents, the time when the children slept was a time of bliss, and after a fortnight of little sleep, Cross almost agreed. But his child had a habit of falling asleep suddenly and for long periods. Dream had told him that when this happened her energy levels were low, showing that her body couldn't regulate itself fully.
With another sigh, Cross carefully picked up the sleeping baby and slipped her into the carrier. It was very hard to wake her when she was like this, but he was still extra careful. Not waking a sleeping baby was basically a universal law, though he would have to if she was asleep to long. After double checking that she was safely inside and her head was supported, he walked back over to Dream.
"any particular preference for an au Dream boat?" he asked
Shaking his head, Dream replied "Not really, just try and get a pacifist timeline"
With a nod, Cross extended his arm. There was a spark of magic at his figure tips and his knife materialised. He dragged it through the air in a fluid motion, as he did it split the air as if it where a piece of cloth. It was a causal splitting of space and time. Simple.
Luna watched her dad with a look of wonder. Her silver eyes where wide and bright.
"gahhhhh daaaaag" she cooed and reached for him.
Cross glanced back at her with a smile "just you wait Princess, when you are older I'll teach you how to do this"
These words hung heavily in the air for a moment, as Cross carefully finished opening the portal. The same thing was on both Cross and Dreams minds.
If you get older.
With a sigh and a snap of his fingers, the knife was gone and the portal was open.
"After you" Cross said, stooping into a slight bow and winking at his fiancé.
Dream covered his mouth with his hand and fake giggled. "Oh what a gentleman" he said with a large smile across his face before walking forward and entering the portal.
The first thing that hit Dream as he reached the other side, was a cold crisp breeze. The chill made him feel grateful that he was wearing his boots, even if they were old and an obnoxious shade of yellow.
The breeze blew lightly causing Luna to shiver. There was no wind in there home, so this brought a welcome change to Shattered. He took a deep breath into his non existent lungs.
It was evening. Strange? He figured that their sense of time must have been thrown out a little. They did live in a void after all. However it was a pleasant evening, with sky littered with stars and a full moon.
Shattered allowed himself to bask in the fresh air for a while, as he heard footsteps behind him and the portal close.
"Oh it's good to be outside again" came Cross' voice from behind.
With a nod, Shattered turned around to face his partner. Luna wriggled more in her carrier, looking around at all the new things she'd never seen before.
"someone is excited" Cross said, leaning down and kissing his daughter on the forehead. She giggled and very nearly headbutt him as he did. Chuckling, he pulled away.
The guard looked around "looks like we're in a small town... If I had to guess its the surface"
The two of them started to look around, trying to find something to engage with. It wasn't long before they spotted something.
Both skeletons attention was caught by something in the near distance. A large crowd of people. Among them were people in hats, jumpers and coats, carrying bags and cups of hot drinks. A vast amount of stalls and stands were among them, not to mention fur trees in fancy dress and lights. Hundreds and hundreds of lights.
"a Christmas Market!" Dream said, his voice hinting an excitement "I've never been to one! I forgot that it was this time of the year"
His excitement felt like a balloon filling inside him. Only to be burst when his soul gave a sting inside his ribs.
But Dream couldn't help but feel a little happy, this was such a good thing to come across, perfect for their trip out.
Cross tilted his head "how do you know what Christmas is my love? It's more of a human custom".
"well that's easy" Dream said, a slight smugness in his voice at the fact he seemed more knowledgeable then Cross about something.
"Christmas is a time where positive emotions take hold, even in the darkest of times, positively rules here"
He eye lit up slightly as he spoke. Even if Dream was corrupted, and technically not the positivity guardian anymore, he was still happy to talk about it. It reminded him of easier times.
"as the former positively guardian it was only natural for me to learn about the festival...." his voice turned somba for a moment "Heaven taught me...... remember?"
There was another heaviness in the air at those words. A unspoken guilt and regret and then a thought. Dream now possessed the very power that had killed him.....
The gloopy one sighed and straightened the baby carrier. Luna gurgled as he did so.
"he would have loved to meet these two wouldn't he" he spoke, his voice twisting in its somba state.
"yeah... But it's ok" the guard replied, taking Dreams hand.
"in a way, he is here" he said in a soft tone, running his finger across Dreams ring. A smile ran across his face before he realised Shattered's hand.
After a short moment of silence they were disturbed by a soft noise. Celest had woken from her sleep. She wriggled and shifted against Cross' chest, her tiny voice gurgling.
"Nice of you to join the party Sweet pea" Cross said, upon noticing.
"we should probably get going, before she falls asleep again" Dream stated in reply. Cross nodded.
The family started to walk together towards the market. As they approached the air was filled with the smell of food and the sound of cheesy pop songs. The emotions of the people around them where starting to fill in.
The first thing that Dream felt was a lot of emotion around him. He was going to need to take a moment to get used to it. From what he could feel it was primarily positive, but then he felt something else.
To his right he felt anger and frustration. That wasn't the kind of thing that he expected this time of year, so he turned his head slightly. There was a human and a monster stood in the huddle.
He caught a few words of what they were saying.
"typical every year you leave gift buying to the last minute" said one.
"it's not completely last minute" said the other.
"it's the 23rd! How is that not last-" and then he was out of ear shot.
"23rd?" Shattered said to himself "huh.... It was my birthday 2 days ago". He counted on his fingers for a moment, trying to figure out how old that made him.
"it was!? Oh my goodness that's right!" came a voice from his side. It was slight panic from Cross. Uh oh.
Dream waved his hands in a jazz hand fashion "woah woah woah, before you go flying off the handle, we both didn't realise-
"I'm so sorry my love!"
Shattered groaned. Here we go.
"I can't believe I forgot! I'll make it up to yo-
Dream cut Cross off with a peak on the teeth. Cross jumped and his face flushed.
"......... Cross, I'm going to have hundreds more birthdays... Its OK if we skip one" the guardian whispered before nuzzling his gloopy face against him. "presides.... We had more important things to worry about"
As if on que both twins cooed.
A little smile creeped on to Cross' face. Dream mirrored it.
"now let's stop standing here go to the market" he held his hand out "it's waiting for us".
With a soft smile, Cross took his hand and they started walking again. It wasn't long before they finally reached the market.
The market was busy.
Both humans and monsters were walking around, talking happily. Children of all ages were rushing around with chocolates in their hands and candy canes in their mouths. Positive emotions were swirling like the snow in the wind. A warm blend of joy, song and family.
The smells of cakes and and pies were everywhere. Hot wine, ginger, cinnamon, dried fruit and nuts. Coffee, chutney, jams and cheeses.
For Dream it was like being spun in a giant bath of spice. The smells did not help his developing headache. There where positive emotions everywhere, every angle.
He let go of his partner's hand and stumbled slightly. The emotions were threatening to make him collapse as they came at all sides. Being in a void space for so long meant he'd gotten used to only Cross' emotions being around. But now there must have been 100 people at lest.
With the surrounding area becoming a blur, the sky and ground became one and he felt something hit his back and press it.
After a moment of silence he could hear the sound of a baby crying from off in the distance. Someone was calling his name but he could hardly hear it as the crying baby got closer. But eventually both got clearer.
"Dream! Dream are you OK!? Can you hear me?"
It was Cross.
"C.... Cross?" he said, looking for his partner's face. He eventually found it, hovering above him.
"why....." he said reaching his heavy arm up "why are you flying?"
The former guard gave him a confused expression. A moment later, Dream realised that the pressure on his back was in fact the floor and he was laying on it.
"you collapsed" said Cross with a pained expression. Cross' worry and stress washed over Dream and snapped him back to reality. The crying baby was very close. In fact it was coming from his chest.
Dream pushed himself onto his elbows and looked down. Luna was crying and wriggling in her carrier.
"oh.... OH!" Shattered said as a sudden and huge instinct hit him. Something he'd not really felt up till this point. Caring not about his state, he pulled her out of the carrier and rocked her in his arms.
"shhhh shhh it's ok, I'm sorry sweetheart, are you hurt?"
If Dream hadn't just collapsed, Cross would have felt happy at the sight of him comforting Luna. The tiny skeleton quieted down, but her non-existent lip was still trembling. Shattered inspected her, happy not to find any marks that would indicate she'd been hurt by the fall. Probably just scared.
"what happened my love?" came Cross' voice again.
"emotions" Dream bluntly responded, before attempting to get to his feet. He hadn't gotten far when he felt his partners hands grip his and help him pull up. He'd barely just gotten to his feet when things started to blur again and his head started to once again throb.
He fell forward slightly into Cross' chest, the guard put his arms around him to support him and keep him steady. He had to be careful to make sure the babies didn't get squished.
Cross' fiancé give out a low, pained groan and Luna give a wine of discomfort.
"Keep hold of her Dreamboat, I'll find somewhere where you can sit down" he softly said, looking around to find a seat. Luckily he spotted a park bench not to far from them.
Cross slowly and gently guided Dream backwards until Dream's legs brushed against the bench and he was able to slowly sit down. He sank his weight against the wooden frame, his limbs felt heavy and his head felt horrible. After a short time he started to adjust. Feeling himself coming back into reality, Shattered adjusted his hold on Luna to make sure he didn't drop her. Cross kneeled in front of them both.
"we can always go home if it's to much for you"
Immediately Dream shock his head, which he regretted a second later as the dizziness ramped.
"no Crossy, we both agreed we needed some time out of the void. ...im sorry that I'm ruining it"
The tall skeleton lightly gripped Dreams shoulders and looked him dead in the eyes.
"you are not ruining anything"
He kissed the bridge of Dreams nose.
"you have made everything in my life better, don't forget that"
A smile ghosted Shattered's face at those words.
"you know.... You're blind, unconditional love for me is really cheesy" he said, his smile turning into a smirk.
"I do try"
The couple shared a laugh and Dream felt himself feel a bit better. He didn't feel great though. The emotions around him where still dizzying.
Behind Cross he could see the market. It truly did look like fun and he felt bad that he'd soured the mood. He continued to rock Luna and she turned around in his arms to burry her face into his chest.
"you should....." Shattered paused as another wave of dizziness hit him "You should go ahead of me, I'll catch up"
"Absolutely not" Cross stated firmly "I will not leave you, I refuse"
"Cross" Dream said in an equally as firmly manner "I can look after myself for 10 minutes, it will be fine..... I want you to go have some fun"
The guard's expression softened and he stood up again, running his hand across the back of his skull unsurely as he did. "I.... I don't know"
Dream rested Luna in his lap and reached his hands out, Cross took them.
"Cross, I want you to go ahead, I'll join you soon, I promise"
Letting go of Dreams hands, Cross sighed. "Alright..... But I'll come back in 15 minutes, if you are still here then we are going home"
Dream nodded slowly "Deal"
After a few more unsure moments Cross started to back away from Dream. He went slowly in order to give Dream time to tell him to stop. After he didn't, Cross turned and walked in the direction of the market.
As Shattered watched Cross walk into the market, he felt his daughter start to fuss in his arms. His golden eye travelled down to her again. She looked a bit confused or upset. Her emotions weren't developed enough to be easily readable by Shattered. But from what he could sense she was distressed by her dad walking away.
He looked back at Cross again, as the guard inspected what seemed to be a stand of various pastries and cakes. There was a sad, yet nostalgic smile on his face.
Shattered watched as he exchanged some words with the vendor and took Celest's little hand and waved it. Clearly he was introducing them. The vendor seemed to coo at the baby a little and Cross straightened up proudly. Probably bragging about something cute Celest had done recently.
After a few more words he put some coins on the counter and was handed a paper bag, containing what Dream had to assume was a pastry of some kind. He waved good bye to the vendor and started to walk away.
As he did, he took his food item out of its bag and went to take a bite. He locked eyes with Dream mid-bite and gave him a slight deer in the headlights look. After finishing taking his bite, he smiled and waved to his lover. Dream waved back.
It was clear from Cross' expression that whatever he was eating was very tasty and it caused Dream to wonder how much food Cross was going to buy tonight.
Luna fussed again as her father and sister got further away.
Luna and Celest had been almost inseparable since day one, Shattered was still a little unnerved by it. They were always most comfortable when together. Knowing this, Dream told himself that Luna was fussing because she was parted from her sister. But another thought came to him.
What if she was sad about Cross leaving?
It was a stupid thing to think, both babies had been apart from Cross before and not responded this way. Yet the thought wouldn't leave him. It was the kind of thought that bounces around your head and burrows into you the moment you try to forget it.
The first time he left them with me for an extended period of time, I'd tried to....
A chill ran over him followed by a long twang of guilt, which caused him to tighten his grip on his daughter. Cross still didn't know about that night and he wasn't sure he could ever tell him. What was wrong with him? He acted like he cherished them these days (or at lest most days), but how could he when he'd thought of doing such a thing? When all he'd felt upon seeing them for the first time was nothing. His eyes stung and threatened to start crying. In that moment he felt tempted to call Cross back and have him wrap his arms around him. But he couldn't. Not while Cross didn't know.
"I'm sorry that I'm not the best parent to you Mi hija"
The words left his mouth as barely even a whisper. They sounded if he'd not been aware he said them. As if he'd not fully intend to say them out loud. His throat was dry and his soul was burning and twisting.
Cross says you are getting better.
One part of him said
But who's to say they will live to see you be better?
He answered to himself.
He felt the fabric of his jacket get tugged slightly. This drew his attention back to Luna.
She had turned in his arms slightly and was looking up at him with wide eyes. If Shattered hadn't known better, he'd have thought he could sense her worrying. Her tiny fist was curled in the fabric of his coat.
"paaaaaa gaa?"
Dream sighed.
"I get a lot of things wrong..... And I'm going to keep getting things wrong, I might be wrong most of the time"
The former guardian continued to speak in a near whisper, his finger stroking the tiny creature's cheek.
"but I'm going to get some things right as well...... And I'll make a deal with you"
Luna's face scrunched up a little. It was almost amusing to see, as if she was thinking really hard.
"if you and your sister keep on fighting, I'll keep on trying" Luna turned her face into his hand and chewed his glove.
"if you stick around long enough, you'll see a day when I get things right most of the time.... You want to see that right?"
"maaaaaa"
"deal?"
"gahhh gahh"
Dream laughed slightly "I'll take that as a yes"
He looked away from her again. Cross had completely disappeared from his view now, probably off stuffing chocolates. Since Dream wasn't someone who needed to eat, he didn't fully understand, but the sweet and warm smells in the air were very pleasant. He'd not eaten a thing for at least two and a half years, maybe he could try a little something. Carefully he slipped the tiny skeleton back into her carrier and fastened her in.
"Should we go check out the market mi pequeña estrella?" he asked, finally getting back to his feet. His daughter gave a gurgle of approval.
"then let's go shall we"
The atmosphere of the market was all together jolly. As he walked into the heart of it, his head throbbed again, but he didn't feel dizzy. He'd adjust to it fully soon.
Despite what he would want to admit, he felt a very slight anxiety without Cross by his side. He was in no way dependent on Cross, but he was so used to having him near, it was strange to have him absent. To not be able to feel his energy or be able to hold his hand.
No Dream! He thought. Don't be such a baby.
He patted his daughters head with his hand absentmindedly, feeling the fabric of her bow slip down slightly as he did. She giggled and a smile creeped onto Dreams face as she did.
A stand caught his eye. It was a stall of what seemed to be jewellery. As many of the stalls were, it was adorned with colourful lights and decorations of all shapes. Though this one in particular stood out to him. He wasn't sure why, but he decided to approach it.
The monster running the stand stiffened as he approached, but he paid it no mind. He could see the jewellery much closer now. Each piece seemed unique and hand made. There were bracelets, earrings, rings and necklaces, shimmering in all different colours. He greatly enjoyed looking over each individual piece, until his eye socket landed on one.
It was a necklace. Gold, set with a blueish purple stone. There was a small crescent charm on the chain as well. Dream stared at it and knitted his eyebrows. For a moment he wasn't sure why it caught his eye. But as he moved his hand up and traced his thumb across the stone, he realised. He then retracted his hand is if he'd been shocked. He stepped back and folded his hands together, but his sight remained locked on it.
Where are you? Are you even still alive?
A long sigh left his mouth as he forced himself to think of something else. But as he turned to walk away, he glanced at it again. It was almost like he couldn't bare to leave it.
I'm being silly, I'm a man, why would I need a necklace anyway?
With that, he tore his eyes away and proceeded to the next stand. As before the monster running it tensed slightly.
This vendor was selling what seemed to be plastic toys and figures. These weren't home made and seemed to be just the same old toys you could buy anywhere. There was doll house items, human figures and animals. He was so busy looking over the collection, that he didn't notice as his daughter reached for her favourite animal. He was only alerted to what she was doing by a slobbery squish sound.
She had suck the head of the toy into her mouth and was chewing on it.
"Luna no!" Shattered said "I don't want to have to buy that"
Carefully his pulled the plastic cow from his daughters mouth. A thin trail of a mix between gloop and saliva followed it. He had no idea how one baby could produce so much spit so fast. He wiped some off on his coat, but it didn't come close to cleaning it. Yeah....... he was going to have to buy it. He had a small purse of gold coins that Cross had given him. He hadn't asked where Cross had gotten the coins, it was probably best not to.
As he handed it to the seller and asked for the price, the slimy coating ran onto his fingers. Yuck. Not that he could really talk though, he was almost completely covered in something worse.
Dream expected to feel anger or disgust come from the stall owner. But instead he could only sense fear. His eye locked with the eyes of the monster behind the counter. It didn't take long for him to realise. Cross might have treated him like he was the most beautiful and sweet skeleton in the multiverse, but that didn't stop his appearance from being...... Striking at best.
He grimaced and handed the monster the money he owed and took back the toy.
"have a nice evening" he said, trying to sound friendly.
"y-you too sir.... Merry Christmas"
He turned away from the stall and walked back into the market. After inspecting the toy to make sure there was nothing small that she could choke on he handed it back to Luna. She happy put it back in her mouth, flicking his hand with her mouth tentacle as she did.
Shattered felt a burst of joy from his daughter, which made him light headed for a moment. After collecting his bearings he smiled.
"Adorable idiot" he said leaning over and kissing the top of her head. "now let's go find Daddy shall we?"
It wasn't a market that was too large, just a fair amount of stalls and stands and a handful of people. There was no doubt that he and Cross stood out, so it shouldn't be to hard to find his partner.
If I where cross.... Where would I go?
The answer came to his mind not even a second after asking it.
Chocolate...
As he'd noted before, there was a vast amount of edibles all around him. Mostly foods of the sweet variety, commonly fruity cakes and pies. But it wasn't long till he saw what he wanted. Out of the corner of his eye socket, he spotted what he was looking for. Just as he'd expected, chocolate.
Humans and normal monsters, seemed to be fascinated in forming chocolate into many different shapes. Animals, people, stars and bells. Shattered supposed that they got more pleasure consuming the sweet substance when it involved biting the head off of a defenceless reindeer, or mutilating a Santa or two.
He approached the stall of chocolate items. It was a pleasant smell, reminding him strongly of Cross' coat. There was no doubt the guard would have come here. He just had to find him.
Meanwhile, as Shattered looked for him, his mate was busy in a hearty conversation with his daughter.
The guard slipped a snowflake shaped chocolate into his mouth, having finished off the pastry long ago.
"now what should be get for Papa as a late birthday present hmm?" he asked Celest as she blew a spit bubble. "Something simple, you know he doesn't like flashy things"
Celest continued to blow a spit bubble and watched it as it expanded. "why is it that he must be so difficult to shop for....
His voice trailed off as he continued to ponder the question. What to get someone who didn't like material things. Other then his scarf, his ring and his crown, Dream never held onto things. Maybe he could get him a new accessory, like a new piece of jewellery or something. He continued to think and slipped another chocolate into his mouth. As he did this, without him noticing, the tiny skeleton had popped the spit bubble and was now reaching for the candy cane sticking out of his shopping bag full of goodies. She grabbed it and without hesitation, plunged the bright stripped stick into her mouth without a care.
After not even a second her face screwed up and she recoiled. She let out a wine of regret and disgust, which alerted Cross that she was distressed.
"No sweetie , that's pepper mint" the guard sighed, plucking the now sticky candy from his daughters hands. He put it on the counter of the stand they were stood next to. A stall selling Christmas fauna such as Holly, pinecones and mistletoe.
As he set the candy down, he saw daughters face still looked unhappy. "that must have tasted horrible" he said, dabbing the spit from around her mouth with his sleeve.
"we'll get you some nice warm milk when we get home ok?" he said in a baby voice, bouncing her slightly to try and cheer her up. It worked and she giggled. Cross sighed in relief, crisis averted.
He thought back to his question about presents. About Dream. It had been a little while since he'd left him. It would probably be a good idea to go back.
"Now if you are done sampling my treat bag Celly, maybe we should go check on-
"hey" came a voice from up close to his left. He jumped. After a second he realised he recognised the voice and turned to meet Dreams gaze, some chocolate still on his cheek. He was about to say something about how it was go to see that Dream was feeling better, when Dream spoke.
"wanna prove you aren't just a 20g wager?" the golden guardian said, with a slightly sly smile.
For a moment Cross was confused. Had the emotions caused his partner to go loopy? Before he could ask, Dream pointed his finger upwards. Feeling more confused, Cross glanced up. He could now see that they were in fact stood under a mistletoe. Quite a few actually. The sight of the white berried plant made his cheeks flush. He'd fallen right into Dream's trap. How had he not noticed.
He swallowed what was left of the snowflake the chocolate in his mouth "uhh um.... Uh"
He locked eyes with Dream again, finding that he'd taken a step closer. Taking a gloved hand and cupping Cross' cheek, he said.
"I'll take that as a yes"
With that he gently pulled Cross' face closer, till the gap was closed between them with a soft kiss. Cross' soul fluttered as Dream leaned in more to kiss him stronger. The taste of chocolate in his mouth was soon replaced with the flavour of bitter apple sauce. But he didn't mind it, he much liked apple sauce. Unfortunately the kiss wasn't long lived. The two were forced to separate after feeling their daughters starting to fuss, since they were being pressed between them. Dream stepped back slightly, giving his children room and took a breath of winter air. The euphoria from the kiss surged through him, as it had been a while since they had and therefore felt really good.
In fact, It had been a while since they'd done a lot of things. Including telling Cross that he........... That's something he needed to fix and fix straight away. His eyes locked on Cross.
"Te quiero, mi soldado" Dream said, with his face dusting gold. He looked away and pulled his scarf over his face slightly.
Cross returned his blush and smiled "yo tambien Te quiero, mi sol"

Welcoming The Family ~ Lee Felix
Tumblr media
“See, perfect,” you hummed as Felix walked into the living room, propping the tree up as best as he could against the fireplace. His expression failed to match yours, you could see perfectly how exhausted he was as he brushed the pine from his hands.
“I perform on stage for hours but getting that through the front door was harder than anything I’ve done before,” he groaned, sitting down on the arm of the sofa.
As he did so, you pulled several boxes from around the sofa, whilst he went to pick up the tree, you went on a trek around your home to find all its decorations.
Felix’s exhaustion was heard as he let go of yet another groan, spotting just how many decorations the two of you had somehow managed to accumulate over the years together.
“Don’t even think about getting yourself comfortable, we need to finish this off before your parents arrive tomorrow,” you scolded, passing him one of the boxes to rip the tape off of and open.
The effort it took just for him to lift his arm was huge as he opened up the box, peering in he spotted all the decorations his parents had sent over for your first Christmas together, each one was still in a pristine condition.
“If we don’t put these ones up, I promise mum will never speak to us again.”
You nodded, placing the box down in your keep pile, whilst you discarded a box of much less appealing ones to send off to the charity shop. In a few minutes, the two of you had managed to sort through every box of what you wanted to keep.
“You know, I’m sure even if we closed our eyes just for a few minutes we’d still get this done today,” Felix whined from beside you, staring hopefully into your eyes.
Your head shook, grabbing his hand and pulling him down from the sofa to continue giving you a hand. “It was your idea to invite your parents, and your idea to leave everything until the last minute, so you’re helping.”
His eyes rolled, feeling the weight of a box crash into his lap. “It’s not my fault I was busy with work and couldn’t get things done, this isn’t fair.”
Whilst he was right, the last minute raid for decorations had been because of how busy he’d been at the studio, it was too late for now for you to get everything done by yourself, and just like Felix, you wanted to make sure everything was perfect for his family.
Felix began to untangle all the knots in the ribbons of the decorations while you started hanging them around the tree, keeping a keen eye on all the colours so there was no mixes or too much in one space.
Felix had always admired your eye for detail, your house was always decorated so perfectly for Christmas, everyone would always compliment what a good job you’d done.
“Are you excited to see everyone?” You absentmindedly asked him as you hung a bauble, glancing down at his face of concentration.
His head nodded immediately, it had felt like forever since he last got to see his family, and even longer since he got a Christmas with them too. As tired as he was, he kept reminding himself that all of this was for his parents who were on their way.
“I can’t wait to give them all a massive hug,” he smiled, pausing for a moment. “I just have such a good feeling about the next few days being together.”
After all the decorations had been placed, you stared down at the knot of lights that you’d also found. Felix was quick to grab it and start untangling it, knowing how stressed these things made you.
“I keep thinking if there’s anything that we’ve missed or that your parents would like,” you told him, adjusting a few of the little bits you’d found around the tree.
His head shook, his family didn’t expect anything from the two of you, they were just thankful that you’d invited them to be with you both and giving them the time to spend with Felix. Anything past that was just a bonus to all of them.
“Nothing is forgotten, trust me, they’ll love what we’ve done with the place,” he assured you, passing you the fixed end of the lights.
“I just want to be sure,” you mused, feeling his arms wrap around your waist as he dropped the lights, scattering several reassuring kisses along your jaw and to your cheeks.
He knew that you felt the pressure to do the perfect job, he was anxious too, but it was Christmas, there was no way his parents couldn’t arrive at your place with a smile.
Once all the lights were untangled the two of you worked together to wrap them around the tree, dodging each of the baubles you had meticulously placed on each branch of the tree.
“Now all we need is a topper,” Felix spoke, reaching into one of the boxes and pulling out the traditional one you used everywhere, “I’ll let you do the honours as most of this is your hard work.”
You took the ornament before stretching up on your tiptoes to place it to the top of the tree. The both of you sighed in relief as finally the job was done, one less thing for the two of you to worry about before his family arrived tomorrow.
“Looks good,” Felix hummed as you both took a step back, “I don’t think I’ll want to take this down at the end of Christmas.”
“It’s bad luck if you don’t,” you reminded him, feeling his arm wrap around your waist, “maybe we just take a photo instead so we can remember what to do next year?”
It was a huge relief for you to get the tree done, you still had a mountain of things that you wanted to sort out, but Felix was right beside you to get it done, even if was absolutely knackered from fetching the tree in the first place.
“You know, I actually bought something else to go on the tree this year,” he whispered to you.
“Yeah? Go on then, show me what it is.” He didn’t move away from you, but stuck his hand into his pocket, rummaging around for what he was looking for. You could hear the money and keys in his pocket too clattering around as he felt around for it.
“We can’t have my family here without a little something for them.”
Your eyes lit up as you watched him pull out a small kangaroo attached to a piece of string with a Santa had sewn to the top of its head. It was exactly what you tree needed as Felix hung it on a small space that he could find that needed filling.
As soon as he saw it in the store a few days ago he knew it would be the perfect addition to your tree, and your parents would love it. You reached across and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek, watching as he dimples appeared.
“That’s super cute.”
A light blush appeared on his cheeks, he wasn’t always into grand gestures or anything like that, but when he was, he always managed to take you by surprise in the best possible way.
“The tree’s perfect now,” he remarked, nudging against your side, “I just can’t wait for them all to get here now and really start celebrating Christmas.”
“Less than twenty-four hours left, it’ll fly by.”
“I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep, I feel like a kid all over again having my family back with me,” he honestly told you, resting his head above yours. “But now I’m the grown up one who’s hosting Christmas.”
You chuckled lightly, resting your hand against his chest, “I bet they’re just as excited to be here, and enjoy Christmas without any responsibilities.”
“I’m sure mum will still get involved.”
You knew exactly what Felix’s mum was like, and he was probably spot on. “I’ll probably be thankful for the help; you’ll be too busy entertaining guests to give me a helping hand anyway.”
“Well someone has to make sure that everyone’s drinks are always topped up.”
Your eyes rolled at his comment, but it was that, that so often made you both such a great team. You were always in sync with each other, whilst he did one thing, you did the other, and in that case, everything would work out perfectly. The next week would be no different as you coped with having all his family round.
“It’ll all be alright, you don’t need to worry,” he assured you, feeling your body tense up. “Nothing can go wrong, I promise.”
“I know, I’ll feel better when they’re all here,” you assured him.
“Less than twenty-four hours and they’ll all be here.”
“I know, I’m so excited!”

It was one of those random family outings, one of those moments that Damian was reluctantly dragged to
He just wanted to stay home and train for the upcoming fencing tournament in his school, one of the few things that Damian looked forward to in the school year
Yet here he was, being held captive and listening to Garyson talk for the umpteenth time about his daughter’s latest adventure
Finding an opening, Damian slips off, walking through alleyways to escape his family, eventually arriving to the fashion district of Gotham
He decides to enter the first store he sees, seeing as his hands were starting to get cold
He hated Gotham’s chilly and cold seasons. Spring was his favorite season.
As he ventures inside the store, he starts to look at the fabric inside, now wondering why fashion designers were so picky with their fabrics
It was when he saw two identical rolls of fabric that he decided to investigate for his answer
As he runs his hands across two white fabrics (linen and velvet), he notices the slight differences, not noticing that he was starting to mumble his observations
It was then that his hand bumps into someone else’s Damian turning to see a girl his age.
“Sorry! I didn’t mean to bother you!” She quickly apologizes. “You were probably in your zone and-”
“I was simply looking at them. You didn’t interrupt anything.”
Damian watches as the girl relaxes and smiles at him.
“I see. Well, if you need any help, I’d be happy to help! Is there a certain reason you’re-”
“I was thinking of hiring someone to make me a suit for an upcoming event-” Damian attempted to lie (although he technically didn’t as his family was looking for one...not like he was going to tell them about the one he just found), taken aback when the girl looked at him with twinkling eyes. What was going on
“A suit? So I’m guessing a tux, but if you want something to make you standout- but I think you don’t want that, huh?” She begins to look him up and down, quickly mumbling some numbers to herself. “Black or any dark color would suit you, but having emerald accents-no! Gold accents would suit you better.” Damian remains silent as she circles him, not once placing a hand on him. “Shawl collars, traditional or modern could work. Definitely single breast, maybe tail-oh god no. No tails.” Damian watched as her eyes filled with happiness. “A cumberbund would definitely suit you. That’s where I can place the gold!”
Damian kept listening as the girl kept listing ideas to herself, watching with awe as she kept the ideas coming, eventually snapping out of his trance when she presented him a card.
“If you don’t mind, I’d like to make that suit. Of course! The decision is yours if you’d allow me to make it.” He watches as the girl points to a phone number and email address in rose gold. “Give me a call, text or email if you decide to accept my offer. See ya!”
Damian is left dumbfounded as he watches her go and pick some fabric rolls, purchase them and then leave.
“What just happened?”
Damian looks at the all black card in his hand. On one side was the phone number and email. On the other, the letters M D C were on the card, a single line going through the three letters. Simple, yet elegant.
Damian ends up accepting the offer, setting to meet the girl that Friday afternoon after his classes.
When his family attempts to tag along, he tells them no, setting on going alone.
“Welcome to my humble home.” She greets him after picking him up (she insisted despite Damian saying he had his own mode of transport) at the rendezvous and then to her flat. He was faced with one of Gotham’s most expensive penthouses, Damian wondering who exactly was this girl who can afford one of his father’s expensive hotels.
“Do you...live by yourself?”
“Yup! Although my uncle- oh! How can I forget?” The girl says, closing the door behind her. “Sorry for the late introduction! My name’s Marinette. The one behind the upcoming brand MDC. I’m currently here for a commission. Although, by the looks of it, I might end up staying here in Gotham.”
He’s heard of her, the decade’s youngest designer in the fashion world, or so he’s heard.
“Now, let’s start with getting your measurements, shall we?”
One visit became two, to then various
And they were mainly never about his suit that she was making him.
He didn’t know why he found him attracted to her place...to her
But simply felt at home with her
He quickly learns everything about her. Her old school life, her friends, her ex, her parents, hobbies, and old commissions.
At first he thought she graduated early from highschool because of her bully, but it turns out that it was because she already had all her requirements done and seeing that there was no other reason to stay, she left. Also, having more time is what she needed if she wanted to succeed in the fashion world. So when her uncle (who he learns is Jagged Stone) offered her a hand, she took it and came to Gotham.
But Damian didn’t just listen, he also talked about himself
About Titus, his family, his fencing tournament. His opinions on Selina. His mixed feelings about his mother.
His family kept trying to follow him, but they have yet to figure out where he would go every other afternoon and evening.
Months pass, the suit already done and ready to be worn, but it still wasn’t the day of the Gala yet. But even then, Damian still stopped by, often times letting Marinette use him as a mannequin and dress form
Sometimes they would continue to talk about their mundane lives or things from the past that still ate at them, anything for Damian to simply listen to her voice because while he didn’t fully accept it, he knew he had feelings for her.
A scene that happens:
“And the worst part was that Alya knew she was lying. Lila was definitely not there because Alya was there. She was the one who saw Ladybug capture the akuma not Lila. Lila wasn’t anywhere near Paris when it even happened!” Marinette huffed as she tippy toed to make sure she was measuring the correct portion of Damian’s back.
Damian felt her presence ever so close to him, causing him to panic. Yes, he only allowed her to invade his personal space, but this was too much for his heart.
The aroma of baked goods always radiated from her and being this close only made Damian want to become obsessed with the smell even more.
“So even with that in mind, this Alya decided to take the other girl’s stance?” Marinette let out a sigh, walking in front of Damian and throwing the tape measure around his neck, causing him to tense up.
“Yeah, and I guess that’s what really made me snap to reality when it came to Alya.” Mari frowned at that, tightening the tape closer to each other to get a collar measure.
Lord, did she have no idea how much restraint Damian had to put himself under for just wanting to kiss her right now, but he knew better than than.
He took her hands away from the tape, noticing her eyes lacking that shine they usually carry when she’s in the crafting zone. He looked at her hands, covered in calluses and a few sewing mishaps. Even when they were covered in painful memories, Marinette hands were still gentle. “What’s gentle?”
Damian’s breath hitched, realizing that he said that last part out loud.
“You are.” Damian said, bringing her hands to his lips to kiss. Damian couldn’t help but feel victorious at the sight of Marinette glowing pink. “You’re a gentle and kind person. She doesn’t deserve your kindness if she was willing to quickly push you aside like that.”
Marinette looked straight at Damian before throwing herself into his chest, almost causing him to tip back. “Thank you, Damian.”
A few days were left until the gala, and it just had to be that time when his stupid brothers found out about his meetings with Marinette (and him coning to terms that he absolutely loves her)
“A girl, huh?” Jason would tease while Dick tried to gathering more information about Damian’s “friend”
“She’s simply designing my suit for-”
“The gala. Sure Lil’ D.” Grayson would say before wanting to pry more information from him.
“Why don’t you invite her to the gala?” Bruce proposes, Damian no thinking about it
“Maybe I will.” He regrets saying
And Marinette ends up saying yes, now panicking about what to wear
“What about that dress?” Damian points to her almost completed black dress.
A high collared black dress with long sleeves was what Damian was referring to. With an open back and skirt that fell to the ground, it’s golden accents by the collar that ran across the chest...it would match his own all black suit with golden accents at the shoulders and cumberbund.
“That.. that could actually work.”
Time skip to the gala, where when the two arrive, they steal the spotlight because not only did Damian arrive with a date, but she was stunning. Despite being three inches taller than him, Marinette was perfect by his side
“So Damian, what’s her name and how’d you meet this girl?” Jason asked first, but to Dick’s annoyance.
“Her name’s Marinette Dupain-Cheng, the one behind both of our attires.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Miss Dupain-Cheng.” Bruce manages to say despite being surprised by Damian’s new development.
“So how-” Tim attempted to ask, but marinette cut him off.
“We met at a fabric store. A fabric roll brought us together.”
The night goes on, with it ending by Marinette asking Damian to be her boyfriend. (Damian then also reveals that he was also going to ask her to be his girlfriend)
“Of course.” He says, having to stretch to kiss her, glad to have gone into that fabric store that day.
Sure, it was weird, but Damian was glad to day that a single fabric roll decided their fate of meeting each other.

As She Falls
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3
Chapter 4
Her wings pointed to the sky as she was pulled into Earth’s gravity. Her limbs were also pointed up, except for her head and torso. She watched as clouds passed her, the rough wind trying to crush her non-existent body into molecules. Even though she wasn’t in her physical body, she could still feel the wind? How weird. But she was uncaring of this, as she crashed into her hospital room. She could finally see how her body was, after all this time. She looked at it, finding her body looking pathetic. It was thin, overly thin, and covered in bandages. She was hooked up to so many machines, it was a miracle she was still alive. But while observing this, she heard the door in front of her open. Glancing up at it, she saw something surprising.
“Chloe? What are you doing here?” She asked, shocked. But she didn’t get an answer, since she didn’t have vocal cords or a way to voice her thoughts. Chloe stood in the door way, her expression pained. She started to mumble things, things that didn’t make sense. Chloe seemed crazy and possessed at that moment, but it didn’t matter to Marinette. She raised her hand to try and get Chloe’s attention but was covered in light. She was forced into the older girl’s body, into the girl’s very soul.
When she opened her eyes, the light had make her close them earlier, she was surprised to see a little girl in a hotel’s lobby. She was gripping a teddy bear, but seemed upset, maybe a tad sad. The girl stayed still for what seemed like days before she turned around and passed through Marinette. The girl stormed out of the room, tears leaving her angry expression. Marinette ran after the girl, finally recognizing her as Chloe. She found the girl again in a hotel room, where items around her seemed broken. Then a door sounded behind her and worried screams rang out. As this happened, everything warped and twirled, ‘til she saw  her Chloe, the teenaged Chloe. She was sitting on a couch, her expression somber. This time, though, she could see that Chloe was able to spot her. As she had glanced over at her.
“Chloe? What’s happening? Are you okay? Do I-?”
“How pathetic, Dupain-Cheng even haunts my dreams. Great.”
“What? This isn’t a dream Chloe! I’am really here, I’m fin-“ Chloe’s crazied laugh sprang out, startling Marinette.
“No need to lie, you illusion. I saw her dead body myself, I know she’s not alive. Not anymore.”
“But I’m fine Chloe! I’m just fi-“
“SHUT UP!” Chloe screamed, throwing a teacup at Marinette’s face. It hit her, causing blood to stream down her face. Chloe stormed up to her, her rage filled expression being the main focus. The blonde girl raised her finger up and pointed at her, her elbows bent.
“NOW YOU LISTEN HERE! MARINETTE IS DEAD. SH-she left me. SHE’S JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE! LEAVING ME AT THEIR BEST CONVENIENCE!! JUS-just like mama. She’s ju-just like her-r.” Her screams became stutters as her voice became pathetic. Marinette’s eyes softened and she reached her hands around Chloe, hugging her tightly. Chloe started to sob, falling to her knees, bring Marinette down with her.
“WH-why?! WHY am I noT ENOUGH?!?! WhY-“
It was hours before the emotions inside her seized, leaving her feeling empty.
“I’m sorry Chloe. I promise I won’t leave you again.”
“Y-you promise?”
“I promise Chloe. I swear that I will wake up and you won’t be alone.”
As they hugged tighter, everything went white.
She was suddenly transported back to the hotel room, where she was not alone. On the ground, holding her hand, was Jon. He was sobbing, and looked as if he would collapse into a coma soon.
“Oh Jon! What happened?”
There was no response as she looked over his shoulder, he just kept crying. She laid her hand on the boy’s shoulder, where the familiar bright light surrounded her.
This time, she was alone in a house. But there was noise some where, it sounded pained. She rushed around, opening doors left and right until she found the cause. Jon.
She found Jon huddled in a corner of a kid’s room, sniffling. Her face lost it’s tension, as she sat beside him. She was ready to hear his tale.
“Did you know I can always tell when someone lies to me? That everyone does it a lot? Even ma’ and pa’ lie to me. Only you and Dames don’t lie that much, at least not to me. You tell me when you can’t tell me something, you try to be honest. But now you’re gone. And now Damian lies. No one tells me anything true anymore...”
“But it’s fine. It’s just like before I knew Dames! I can handle it...I hope. I’m used to you both being honest, so I don’t know if I can handle it now. So much has changed, some much is different...why can’t it go back to before you jumped? Everything was okay then- I could fix it! I could help you, I could at least try. But reality doesn’t work that way, right? Yeah. So I can’t save you, I can only imagine that in my wildest fantasies. Did ya’ know I used to think of you and Dames as my parents for a bit? I know you aren’t, but I just wanted to imagine it. Having a mum that’s not running off to get the latest catch, one that comforts me. Having a pa’ that’s not off saving the world every 5 seconds, but is beside me, even if a little reluctantly. But who cares? I’m just being ungrateful! I mean- who else wouldn’t want Superman as their dad? And Lois Lane, the famous and renowned reporter, as their mom? If anyone else knew of my position, they would want it! So why? Why don’t I want to be their child? Why do I want to be normal? To not tell when someone’s lying? I know it’s wrong and I’m just being ungrateful, but-“
“Jon.”
“...”
“Listen to me. Nothings wrong with you. I would love to be your mum, and I’m glad you think that way. It’s not bad to feel this way. Your emotions are valid. You are valid. I love you, I love you so, so much. So please, don’t think this way. I’ll be your mom, I’ll be anyone you want me to be, okay? ‘Cus I love you. I love you like a mother would love their son.”
Marinette raises Jon’s hand to her chest, smiling at him.
“See? I’m not lying, am I? I promise to never lie to you, no matter what.”
Jon stares at her, tears gathering in his eyes. His mouth twitches, he looked pained, sad.
“MAMAAA!” He screamed at her, lunging at her. He gather her into a hug, sobbing. He cried, cried for hours. He wouldn’t let her go, as he collapsed on to her. He cried into her hair, as she pat his back. Marinette hugged him back, caring for him like a mother would.
“...thank you..” Jon mumbled. Marinette only smiled in return, watching as he faded away. She looked up and reached for the sky, a bright light covering her. It felt right. She felt happy.
Marinette appeared back in the hospital room, now with a new person.
‘Damian?’
He said nothing as he grabbed her human body’s hand. His face was remorseful and sorrowful, his scowl now including tears and forced look. He was holding back sadness, she could tell. She wouldn’t let this continue though, so she walked up to him. She stopped right beside him standing straight. She bent over, and reached for his shoulders. She gave him one last hug in this form, before zipping into his body, ready for her next conformation.

Best Villagers from every species in Animal Crossing
Only my personal opinions here, nothing else. Might even change my mind in the future.
Aligator - I have to pick Gayle as my favorite alligator. While Drago is cool, Gayle just looks so nice and friendly.
Tumblr media
Anteater - Pango has such a cool color scheme that I really like. She’s also got a peppy personality which I really enjoy.
Tumblr media
Bear - Grizzly was one of my first villagers when I started playing New Horizon. He reminds me of a grandpa! A grumpy grandpa!
Tumblr media
Bird - While at first I was kinda unnerved by his white eyes I soon started to really like him! I like his pink beak and feet.
Tumblr media
Bull - How can I not love Rodeo? He looks like an edgelord but he’s actually just a lazy villager. I would trust this dude with my LIFE.
Tumblr media
Cat - While yes, Raymond is nice, Kabuki is awesome. He just has such a cool and unique look.
Tumblr media
Chicken - Ken is kinda cute! He’s got his dark color scheme but then there’s the pink dots on his cheeks that makes it look like he’s blushing!
Tumblr media
Cow - While the cows are not the most interesting looking villagers I do like Patty. She’s got this calm and kind look to her.
Tumblr media
Cub - Call me basic but I love Stitches. He’s the most unique looking bear and I love the concept of him being a stuffed animal.
Tumblr media
Deer - Oh dear, I’m gonna bet a few comments on this one... I pick Bruce. He just looks cool, ok? And I have a weakness for cranky villagers.
Tumblr media
Dog - Lucky! My poor, tragic good boy! He’s either an undead or he’s simply covered in bandages because he’s gotten hurt. Either way, he’s unique.
Tumblr media
Duck - Ketchup is cute and I like her orange cheeks, they are what really makes her whole look come together for me. It also looks like she’s wearing boots.
Tumblr media
Eagle - Avery has these really cool patterns on his feathers and I like his more discrete color scheme.
Tumblr media
Elephant - I like Tucker because he’s the most unique amongst the elephants as he is the only mammoth. Plus I like his caveman theme.
Tumblr media
Frog - Raddle is hands down one of my favorite villagers. I like how he looks and his doctor theme. Would legit scream if I got him as a villager.
Tumblr media
Goat - Billy was one of my two first villagers and he grew on me, ok? He doesn’t look bad and his personality is great.
Tumblr media
Gorilla - Had to choose Boone, just had to. He’s very unique looking and just looks great overall. Cool dude.
Tumblr media
Hamster - EASY CHOICE. Marlo is so fucking cool and one of my favorite villagers. Another one where I would scream if he joined my island.
Tumblr media
Hippo - Rocko looks like the kind of character that would start out as a bully but would later apologize for being mean and become your friend. I love it.
Tumblr media
Horse - Papi! He looks so polite! He says ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ when ordering at a restaurant. A good boy, 10/10.
Tumblr media
Kangaroo - It’d have to be Kitt. She looks like a tired mom trying her best and she gives me the impression that she’d give the best hugs.
Tumblr media
Koala - You know I had to go with my boy Eugene. I mean, look at him! Such a cool dude. I want to have what he has.
Tumblr media
Lion - Look at this dude. Such a bastard gremlin man. He looks like he will steal my credit card information and commit fraud. Lionel is so funny.
Tumblr media
Monkey - While she does look a little scary at first glance, I actually like Tammi’s design. Looks like she’d give you great advice.
Tumblr media
Mouse - While only recently revealed, I really like Petri! I like that she’s got a scientist theme and her different colored ears are a nice touch!
Tumblr media
Octopus - Octavian constantly looks like he’s pouting and it’s really charming. I like that he’s really interested in space, it’s such a neat detail to his personality.
Tumblr media
Ostrich - Sprocket looks cool! Him being a robot is a cool idea (I like all robot villagers) and his color scheme is pretty neat!
Tumblr media
Penguin - Now Tex looks like someone I’d want to be friends with. Seems super chill and nice, the perfect dude just to hang out with.
Tumblr media
Pig - Agnes looks really good. I love that she’s wearing pastel colors since it goes so well with her black and white fur.
Tumblr media
Rabbit - I was so close to choosing Coco but Ruby has recently stolen my heart. She’s not only cute but I like her personality and interest in the moon.
Tumblr media
Rhino - Azalea has a nice color scheme and I like the detail of her horn being the center of the flower pattern on her nose.
Tumblr media
Sheep - Normally I am not a fan of clowns but I really like Pietro! He’s a fun character and I would genuinely like to have him as a villager.
Tumblr media
Squirrel - There are some really good squirrel villagers but I like Marshall the most. He just looks like someone I’d like to befriend if I were in high school.
Tumblr media
Tiger - Bangle was one of the first villagers I encountered in New Horizon and she’s gained a special spot in my heart.
Tumblr media
Wolf - BEST FOR LAST BECAUSE MY FAVORITE VILLAGER IS DOBIE! I looked at this dude and instantly knew I’d die for him. He’s my grandpa now. I’d listen to him tell tales of his youth and I would love to go fishing with him or tending to his garden. I want to hug him so bad. Dobie is a king and if he arrived on my island I’d start to cry.

Daminette December Day 7
@daminette-december2019-2020
((Note: If you’re a confused little muffin who saw our ship in the top 100 list and you want to know what in the ever loving fuck we are, feel free to dm me or mention me in a post or even to send an ask. do be warned tho that if u send me hate i will block and report u (and not just to tumblr, to everyone I know who is part of this fandom). our little sub fandom is not a toxic space and no one is allowed to make it one or there will be a fucking war))
And we’re back to our anxiety induced in denial Damian. I love this kid. Tho I do wanna make him slightly more… how do I say this… like cold? I dunno maybe I can bring that in with other people and his interactions. I just wanna write him with his proper grammar and what not and like lbh this boi is already a simp for Mari. But I don’t wanna let things happen too quickly, y’know?
Anyway, maybe I should make the theme of this chapter the fact that he has absolutely no chill. Lmao, I think that’s hilarious ngl. Also I’m just gonna pretend certain things existed back then for the sake of my sanity I can’t keep coming up with words that make sense for explaining what a thing is without saying the actual word because it didn’t exist yet. The hologram in that one chapter was hard enough bruh
Ok here we go, thanks for reading! I hope u enjoy it
Princes and Pedestals
Chapter 7 – Chill
Previous
Next
Damian rolled the ring between his fingers as the morning light filtered through his windows. She’d put the choice in his hands, it was a kind thing to do, smart too. It made sense, if this role was as important as she made it sound it needed someone who could commit to it.
The miraculous was the kind of black that seemed to stretch on forever. It had a bright green paw print on it. He hadn’t put it on yet but from what he could gather it’s kwami would appear as soon as he put it on.
He'd be one of the leaders of an entire Order. He had no idea how big it was. His mother had raised him to lead but that was an entirely different organization. How would Marinette react to that? Could he handle the responsibility?
These thoughts had been plaguing him from the moment he picked up the ring.
But that wasn’t what got to him the most. She was just so… good. She had even agreed to move her entire court to Gotham for his sake. To uproot her entire life and move everyone involved just so that he could stay with his family.
There had to be a catch.
There always is.
He sighed, overthinking everything wasn’t going to help him make this decision.
There was only one thing he could do.
He put on the ring and a bright light caught him off guard. A small floating cat like being appeared in front of him.
“Kid?” he kept his eyes closed as though he didn’t want to see who was in front of him, his voice breaking slightly.
Slowly, the kwami – Plagg if he remembered correctly - opened his eyes. Damian stared at him as disappointment flitted across the creature’s face.
He lifted his brow and asked, “Hope to see someone else, Plagg?”
He chuckled slightly, sadness lacing the sound, “My previous holder, thought maybe I'd get the chance to say goodbye this time,”
Damian frowned, “What do you mean?”
Plagg frowned, “You don’t know about my previous holder? Who gave you my miraculous?”
“Marinette did,” he said, simply, “She actually just gave me the chance to consider the offer of the position, I have the rest of the day to get to know you and make my decision,”
Plagg seemed to consider what he said, he then sat down on the bed in front of Damian. He explained the basics of the miraculous to him, the phrases he needed to use as well as what those phrases would do. The things he’d need as well as what behaviors he might pick up.
“Purring?” Damian said in a disbelieving voice, “You’re telling me I might start purring in my civilian form?”
Plagg cackled, “Yeah, don’t worry it’s not that bad,”
“Tt, what exactly is the purpose of it? In fact what exactly is my purpose? It seems like she has the leadership thing under control,”
Plagg seemed to sober up at the question, he flew up right in front of Damian’s face and looked him in the eyes, “Her job is to lead and look after her court,” his look sharpened and he narrowed his eyes, “Your job is to look after her, your job is to protect her, your job is to see her. Your purpose is to make hers as easy as possible. Don’t get me wrong, you’ll have other official responsibilities and you will rule alongside her, but your real job? Your purpose? You have to help her remember that she’s only human and that that’s okay,”
Damian stared at Plagg, the kwami stared back. It couldn’t be that simple, could it? There had to be something. Some kind of catch.
Before he could grill the kwami, Dick burst into his room.
Damian could see his brother’s clear panic and immediately stood. Dick’s eyes found his, “She’s gone,”
Damian felt himself spiral, memories flew through his mind. All the times he or any of his siblings had been taken. Cass didn’t speak for a month after the last incident. Jason’s “secret" panic attacks had increased tremendously. Tim stayed up for nights on end, only sleeping when he passed out. Damian sparred for hours and hours, hating the feeling of being useless.
His father and Dick weren’t in Gotham at the time and Selina was helping Harley with one of her ‘projects’.
When they got Steph back after a week, she was so shook up that she kept waking up screaming from nightmares for months.
They all blamed themselves.
“Her kwami showed us a letter she left but someone could’ve faked it to buy time, they’re searching the village,” Jason said, coming into his room, holding a piece of parchment.
Damian barely registered the way Plagg seemed to study his reactions. They needed to find her, it was already afternoon, who knows how far gone she could be?
They spent hours scouring the castle. Before he knew it the moon was rising and they were all gathered in the living room, going over possibilities.
“I’m going to go get Alfred and Bruce, this has been going on long enough, it’s time to call in back up. It’s already passed nightfall and she’s not back yet,” Dick walked out of the room, barely two seconds passed before he shouted something to them, “Guys I found her!”
They were out quicker than a lightning bolt. He ignored his siblings as they all flocked around her. He took her in.
She was wearing a cloak, which Jason quickly took and gave to a passing maid. She wore one of her black dresses. Her hair was in a braid.
But the cloak was dirty, the dress had tears and the braid was messy.
But it was her eyes that got him. The blue irises looked like someone had taken every drop of sadness in the world and left it in them. They were red rimmed and puffy and there were black bags under them.
She’d been crying and she hadn’t slept. It didn’t take a genius to figure it out.
Somewhere along the line, they moved back into the living room. Cass was sitting next to Marinette on the couch and the others were arguing.
Damian couldn’t take his eyes off of her. She was here. She was safe. She wasn’t taken.
Cass tapped his arm, he turned to look at her and she started signing. (a/n ok yeah I know that sign language might not have existed but do I really care?)
Get her out of here, she’s tired, Cass signed.
Damian nodded and after asking her permission and scolding his siblings, he escorted her to her room.
Plagg whispered something to her that he couldn’t hear.
Then she apologized for scaring him and he explained his thought process. She explained that he would’ve been able to know via their miraculous whether she was in trouble or not. He made a mental note to ask Plagg more about that.
When they got to her room he opened her door. She was about to go in but he grabbed her hand, stopping her. She looked at him expectantly. He searched her gaze, he had so much he wanted to ask her, why she’d been crying was at the top of that list.
But she looked so tired, and Damian just couldn’t get himself to form the words. Instead he bid her goodnight and went back to the living room where his siblings were waiting.
All eyes turned to him when he entered. He didn’t know what to say. Instead of thinking his words through he blurted out the first thing he thought.
“She didn’t flinch when our eyes met,” he said. They all stared at him for a few seconds. Usually they would’ve laughed at his bluntness, Damian is certain, but there was something about the haunted look on her face that sapped all humor out of the situation.
Jason was crouched in front of the fire. Stephanie sat on one of the chairs while Dick leaned against its armrest. Damian was next to Cassandra on the couch and the five of them sat in silence.
Millions of questions danced through the air, the answers all just out of reach.
Little did they know that they weren’t the only ones with questions.
Outside, three pairs of eyes were watching the oblivious siblings closely.
Damian felt a chill go down his spine and turned towards the window. He walked over and stared out into the forest, he didn’t see anyone but the uneasy feeling wouldn’t leave him.
He closed the curtains.
The smallest of the three chuckled slightly, “She got herself a paranoid one, huh?”
“We need to head back,” the only guy out of the three said to the others.
They nodded and followed him deeper into the forest.
