Truly an unforgettable moment for all of us. Last weekend we managed to finally meet up for a 10+ people photoshoot from FFXIV in Germany, gathering people from four different countries and the results are breathtaking. I’m so happy that we managed to make it work, the weather was not kind to us on that day, but we persevered and made it work nonetheless. I’m so happy I can call all of you my friends after this experience ♥

Went to KupoCon Toronto today in Ameliance cosplay and had a delightful time hanging out with friends and making new friends.

I also got to meet Peter Bramhill (English voice of Thancred in Heavensward and subsequent expacs) and Gideon Emery (Balthier, Fenris, so many others)!

the idea of Cosplay can be really dangerous cause the line between "i love this character" and "i am going to steal his drip" is one impulse buy at the second hand shop away.

also!! i got the shoes for the bella cosplay and i’m still a little self conscious about doing the cosplay but kinda excited too. they’re just simple black stilettos but they’re super cute and i’ll for sure do a finalized makeup test once i get the tights and some makeup.

This guy has been living in my head for a year now. Shigure Sohma(Yuichi Nakamura JP VA, Fruits Basket 2019 best emotional drama anime), get out of my head. Gimme me back Thancred or at least Gojo sensei. Should I even be surprise he's the first NPC I attempt.

*Pokes brain If this is a thing with my other JP animes and games hijacking FFXIV folks. Can I request for Admiral in the Shell or Unlimited Ardbert Works or Metal Gear Gaius or Yorokobe Varis or Minfillia Knight of Rebellion? Beast III/R Kan E-Senna/Sadu/Ameliance/Hylnyan? "She's right, you know." And there the Gunbreaker went, voicing the very same thoughts aloud, confirming X'kijin's inner musings. "Otherwise, you would know that it's been a week since we've last spoken. Though I can't say that I really blame you for forgetting. My visits aren't particularly extraordinary when I drop by." There was an exasperated sigh, dramatic and overdone, as though he were PERSONALLY wounded by the other's words.

The smile to return to his face revealed the joke for what it was-- just that.

"As for my being here, well..." It's his turn to avert his gaze and settle them elsewhere, feeling a touch bit embarrassed. He could already hear Y'shtola's voice berating him for his impatience. "... I was merely going to pay Y'shtola a visit over at the Noumenon. You know how she is. She'd sooner make a bed out of the books themselves, than find a proper place to rest."

It wasn't entirely untrue, at least. The amount of times Thancred had caught the woman dozing off amongst piles of books had been the exact same amount he had come to visit with the same question: How fares the research? Only to be met with the same ANSWER: I know you miss her--

He just had to wait a little bit longer. Still, it had become routine by now, and despite the SCOLDING that surely awaited him at the library, someone had to ensure that she was getting proper rest, herself.

"And... I was hoping to hear an update, is all." He OUTED himself then, a hand rising to rub at the back of his neck.

Knee deep in a craft, X'kijin does not realize at first that he's the one being addressed when he hears a voice. Needle in hand, he's stitching one of the last seams when the voice returns, X'kijin's laser focus dispelled by the mention of the woman who'd asked him to come out to her boutique.

"Huh?" X'kijin says, sounding exceptionally intelligent before finding Thancred before him, the words he'd spoken slowly catching up to the man who's mind had been turned on only to the task at hand and not to the world around him. Crafting was one of the few times that X'kijin's desire to slack off and sleep seemed to evaporate—and Tataru certainly took advantage of that, convincing him to do tasks for his own good, as she so sweetly put it.

"Uh, just... This and that," he says, holding up the jacket he'd been finishing all the same. It was possibly one requested for combat, though X'kijin couldn't say with any certainty. The leather was stylish and warm. They had specifically requested a thermal lining, to keep warmth in. If it was for combat, they either expected very little of it or their fighting style required the speed that leather would lend to, rather than the protection of plate.

"A jacket, for now."

X'kijin raises an eyebrow, turning green eyes back to his work to continue his work while addressing Thancred all the same. "I'm stuck here pretty often. Tataru always says that if she doesn't get me to work, I'll sleep until I wither away, so..."

She was probably right, too.

"What're you doing here? Feels like I saw you here just a few days ago."

... But that was probably all the sleeping he did. Days bled together so easily.

Clive's Outfit in FF14!

Since we had the PAX East Panel for FF16 today, and we know it's coming in "early April" (FF16 Producer Naoki Yoshida didn't want to say more than that, as tomorrow there is a panel with FF14 Producer/Director Yoshi-P, who might get mad if Yoshida revealed more than he was supposed to and no, he is never getting tired of this bit) I hopped into Crime to check out Clive's outfit on various characters.

FF14-only players will likely raise brows at the set's name, "Metian", because "Metia" is used as a name for something in FF16's world, with a lot of significance to Clive and Jill from the very start. So this set's name (despite the clothes' origin in FF16's story) ties back to his lady.

I started off with Dalamud dye cuz that's what Aeryn happens to have on her jacket, hands, and feet at the moment:

Unfortunately, hyuran men at present do not get quite the bulky chests Clive and his comrades sport in Valisthea. Maybe the update will make them look more filled out.

Meanwhile, if C'oretta doesn't look she won't have to see it's not pink.

This also really pulls in Punchy's bust; she's maxed on the slider, while Aeryn and Dark are mid-ranged, and Iyna minimal. But in this, they're all looking pretty similar. And similar to the guys, actually...

Finally added color for Iyna; Celeste, and the pants are Deepwood. She doesn't want to be here today. Also yes I put Thancred in this outfit, what of it?

(Now if only they also gave us Jill's amazing outfit, then I could really cosplay...Uh, nevermind. Moving on!)

I dunno if it's the angle I used that makes the legs look funny on Iron Summer (more on the legs/feet in a moment). But Roe men do, in fact, have the chests to make this outfit work like a Valisthean gentleman. And I shamelessly used @driftward's Zoissette as an elezen example.

Now, Clive is obviously wearing long boots, right? Well...

Have to click the legs pic, but it's plated pants and ankle shoe things (in Celeste Green here). Blergh.

Extra Details!

Clive famously fights with giant swords, but also carries a short blade for a backup weapon; very historical of these nerds. The other side of the belt shows his pouches. The back cloak is missing any kind of device or hold for his giant swords, which is very video game of these nerds.

The belts are part of the vest.

Glamtober 2024, Day 9: Melee

Let's just say that Thancred wasn't too impressed when Ena decided to dress up in an outfit inspired by his HW/SB days.

For some reason the first thing that came to mind about this theme was HW/SB Thancred. So I made Ena cosplay him >:) Glam details below the cut.

Head: Scion Rogue's Bandana Body: Sky Pirate's Vest of Aiming (changed the colour of dye rows 4A and 7A which only affects some small details) Hands: Eastern Lady Errant's Gloves Legs: Scientist's Breeches Feet: Expeditioner's Thighboots, Jet Black & Bark Brown dyes

Dungeon Meshi Characters as FFXIV Players

Laios -FC leader because no one else wants to do it -Started at Paladin, swapped to Samurai once Nemari and Shuro left the FC and Senshi joined. Senshi won't play anything but Warrior and they needed another DPS. -Owns every lore book -Always in the chat during hunt trains -Working on blue mage but it's going slow because nobody wants to help him -Ask him about his Lightwardens designs (do not) -Favorite Character: You think it's gonna be Hermes but it's Midgardsormr. The next ten minutes are him infodumpng about dragon lore.

Senshi: -Warrior main just so he can do stuff solo, but his gathering/crafting is maxed out - God tier omnicrafter but doesn't really care about glamours - His apartment at the FC is designed around sustainable building and farming practices. He has opinions on these. He will tell you the opinions. -Hangs out in the Diadem for fun -Has not been paying any attention to the MSQ -Favorite Character: "I dunno. That girl from the new content has a good appetite?"

Marcille -The only one playing for the plot. Laios lets her design the FC house -Ask her about her Azem (do not) -Strong shipping opinions -White Mage 4 Life -Favorite character: G'raha Tia. Don't ask why she has a lot of suggestive Y'shtola/WoL and genderwap Raha/WoL fanart commissioned.

Falin -Plays Black Mage so they can have a caster in the team -Isn't actually muted in the voice chat but speaks so quietly nobody hears her - Originally played as a Hyur but her account got hacked for a while and she came back as an Au Ra later. -Listens politely to Marcille's shipping opinions -Favorite character: Alisae

Chilchuck -Plays the market board like it's the stock market -Shot-caller during raids but doesn't want to be FC lead so Laios does it -Palace of the Dead/Heaven on High veteran -Ninja main -Mad people call him cute things just because he plays as a Lalafell -Favorite character: Thancred, 'because he's cool, I dunno.' (This is lies, he cried during the dad arc in Shadowbringers.)

Kabru -Always knows the spiciest FC drama -Multiclassing - has Scholar as his healer, Paladin for tank, Bard for DPS. -Favorite character: Will pick what he thinks your favorite is to relate to you better. (The true answer is Ardbert.)

Shuro -Samurai obviously -Had a crush on Falin and somehow nobody but Marcille noticed -Mahjong champion but doesn't tell anyone about it -Favorite character: Lord Hien (yes he's got a cosplay)

Namari -Pugilist main -Also does crafting but only to get the best armor sets - Does not give a fuck about glams -Will grind for relic weapons like no one's business -Favorite character: Estinien

Our hunt for the Light Warden of the Rak Tika Greatwood continues. What secrets will the ruins of Ronka reveal? Also is Thancred okay? Is Minfilia okay? Are any of us okay?
