Textile Flooring Market Forecast: Growth Prospects and Challenges Ahead
Textile Flooring: A Versatile Flooring Option for Your Home Textile flooring has become one of the most popular flooring choices for homes in recent years. With its wide range of styles, textures, and versatility, textile flooring offers homeowners an eco-friendly flooring alternative that can work well in any room of the house. Rise in Popularity Textile flooring has seen a huge rise in popularity over the past decade as homeowners look for flooring options that are softer, warmer and more comfortable underfoot than traditional hard flooring surfaces like wood, tile or laminate. Some key factors that have contributed to the increased demand for textile flooring include: - Comfort and Sound Absorption: Textile flooring has a soft, cushioned feel that makes it comfortable to walk or stand on for long periods. The material also helps absorb sound, making rooms feel less echoey. This is ideal for high-traffic areas like living rooms or bedrooms. - Eco-Friendly Materials: Many textile flooring options today use recycled, sustainable materials like jute, sisal, coir and seagrass in their construction. This makes them a more environmentally-friendly choice compared to other flooring types. - Durability: Advances in material science have made textile flooring much more durable and stain-resistant than in the past. Many brands now offer warranties of 10-15 years with proper care and maintenance. - Wide Variety of Styles: From flat-woven to twisted mono-filament textures, textile flooring comes in a diverse range of styles and patterns to suit any interior décor style. Design options allow it to work in any room from living rooms to bathrooms. Material Types The two most common material types used in textile flooring include natural fibers like sisal, jute, seagrass and coir as well as synthetic materials like olefin and polypropylene. Natural Fibers - Sisal: Harvested from the leaves of the agave plant, sisal flooring has a coarse, tightly woven texture that wears extremely well. It tends to look richer and develop a faded patina over time. Sisal is affordable and very durable. - Jute: Made from plant fibers, jute has a softer texture than sisal but is still hardwearing. It develops a subtle variation in color with use and age. Jute works well in high-traffic areas and casual living spaces. - Seagrass: Woven from grass reeds that wash up on shorelines, seagrass floors have a lovely natural appearance resembling sand and seashells. The texture varies from tight and closed weaves to looser styles. - Coir: Produced from coconut husks, coir provides a soft underfoot texture. It is usually woven in flat or twisted-strand styles and comes in both solid and variegated natural tones. Synthetic Materials - Olefin: A synthetic fiber that mimics theappearance and texture of sisal or jute, olefin is stain resistant and does not absorb moisture. It is very durable and affordable. - Polypropylene: Made from polypropylene fiber, this type of textile flooring is soft underfoot and contains no natural materials. It performs very well in high-moisture areas like bathrooms.

Moscow's Lower Presnya - factory workers' village built in late 1920s
Thank you for making it happen: K. T., H. W., T. B., m., @depetium, @transarkadydzyubin, S. R.
Presnya in Moscow was a district of factories since the 18th century. Some of the factories that were based here are the Prokhorov's textile factory (Tryokhgornaya Manufactura), Smith's boiler factory, Danilovsky sugar factory, Ossovetsky's chemical plants etc. Factory workers usually lived close by (some of the factory owners built housing, but not all) so there were a wide array of houses and buildings (some brick, some wooden). After the 1917 Revolution all of the factories were nationalised and workers' living situation rethinked.
Presnya was the first workers' village in Moscow rebuilt after the Revolution (began in 1926). Emerged a district of 4-floor brick houses in formations that created court yards (something that didn't really exist for apartment buildings before then). Court yards were there purely for comfort of the residents. The new buildings mostly consisted of standard sections of 2 or 4 flats per floor per entrance. The standartisation helped bring the costs down (the buildings themselves were all still different). Buildings stood far enough from each other to allow enough air and sunlight. Most of the flats had windows facing North and South - it helped with air flow and sanitation (tuberculosis and other diseases were on the rise, and having direct sunlight in the flat was detrimental for germs). Many of the flats (though not all) had kitchens and bathrooms. Every building had a built-in boiler room that provided heating in winter. Flats were equipped with their own boilers to cook and heat water. Some other "smart house" solutions in the flats: a pipe system that sent heated water from the kitched to the bathroom, oven-samovar connector (to simplify boiling a samovar), built-in "ice pantry" in the kitchen (served as a fridge in wintertime), air ducts in every room, floor air ducts that also served as water retractors and prevented flooding the neighbours downstairs.
It's important to note that while some families had a whole flat to themselves, most of them were kommunalkas [communal flats] with several families sharing one flat, one room per family. Typically, workers aged 40+ with big families were more likely to get their own flat that younger or unmarried workers.
Let's see some of the residential buildings!
First, some of the 19th century ones - originally built by factory owners as housing for workers.
This new elite residence is built over three 19th cent. buildings. They tried to save as much as possible. The building on the left is mostly as is (only an extra floor was added on top), the building on the far right was kept as part of the facade, and the middle one was in too bad a condition to save, unfortunately.
Corner house with the Kommunar store - designed by Aleksandr Kurovsky.
Another building designed by Kurovsky was initially supposed to have more balconies - see the project on the cover of Building Moscow (#4, 1929). Originally the colors were reversed: the building was made of red brick (befitting the red brick factory surroundings) and the patterns were made of lime brick.
Pair of buildings designed by engineer Osvald Kapran are very simple but have a distinct feature.
And finally the architectural dominant of the Lower Presnya - Mostorg [Moscow Trade] department store designed by Brothers Vesnin and built in 1928. It was their first constructivist building in Moscow. This was the first and only store of this magnitute in the district, a symbol of the new centralised trade as opposed to old style markets.

Adhesives from feathers
Adhesives are almost always based on fossil raw materials such as petroleum. Researchers at Fraunhofer have recently developed a process that allows to utilize keratin for this purpose. This highly versatile protein compound can be found, for instance, in chicken feathers. Not only can it be used to manufacture a host of different adhesives for a variety of applications, but the processes and end products are also sustainable and follow the basic principles underlying a bioinspired circular economy. The project, developed together with Henkel AG & Co. KGaA, addresses a billion-dollar market. Adhesives are found nearly everywhere: in sports shoes, smartphones, floor coverings, furniture, textiles or packaging. Even auto windshields are glued into place using adhesives. Experts recognize more than 1,000 different types of adhesives. These can bond almost every imaginable material to another. Adhesives weigh very little and so lend themselves to lightweight design. Surfaces bonded with adhesive do not warp because, unlike with screw fastenings, the load is distributed evenly. Adhesives do not rust, and seal out moisture. Surfaces bonded with adhesive are also less susceptible to vibration. Added to which, adhesives are inexpensive and relatively easy to work with.

i still hate my job so much but who cares about that right this minute i had a good weekend!!
1. our CSA has you-pick included with shares and it's berry season so we went & picked a pint each of raspberries & blueberries this morning & i saw so many beetles & it was lovely. may all people experience such bounty. thought of course about the horrible cruelty of current agricultural production & especially the evil of the piece rate as i stood there slowly & gently tugging ripe berries off delicate stems
2. reading romance novels again! the newest cat sebastian is good & it is about baseball like a present just for me, i finished the last binding trilogy finally (more romantasy than romance but i had fun), & now i'm reading kj charles' doomsday books. having a great time. romance conventions are so crunchy
3. just finished making dill pickles from CSA cucumbers! the fridge pickle jar is very promising but we will see tomorrow whether all my jars sealed. i want to send one to my friend who is having a baby because she is a known pickle fiend
4. watching soccer :) copa has been a huge mess of a tournament but it's really fun to watch with my partner
5. got local plums from the farmers' market + we stopped by a new booth that had lovely greens & snow peas, excited to go back. eating snow peas straight out of the fridge on my kitchen floor like a very fortunate goblin
6. weaving!!! i'm around a third of the way through the blanket project, and i'm having all sorts of warp tension issues but i'm hopeful it'll work out & i'm having such a good time working on it. weaving is so clever: warping the loom is a pain but once it's set up you can see how efficient it is at textile production, how flexible & quick & comparatively easy on your body. fascinating. plus i really like the yarn! i hope the finished product will serve
7. made an affogato with the nice on-sale raspberry sorbet. that's what it's about. also we found the good frozen pierogies in a little local grocery store (sauerkraut!!)
8. there are rabbits & geese & deer & robins all around & loud humming bumblebees & the weather is unbelievable. grateful & in love
may all people experience such bounty!!! i hope you are well or at least have good hopes & pleasant things
#documenting! the process!!!#good night & good luck#just remembered that it will soon be TOMATO SEASON

Forged Divinity Chapter 10: Leannan Meets Jeanette

~~~
Amos 6:4-5
You lie on beds adorned with ivory and lounge on your couches. You dine on choice lambs and fattened calves. You strum away on your harps like David and improvise on musical instruments.
~~~
Leannan didn’t see Phineas much for the next two days. The Council – minus the elusive fourth member – dined together, and Leannan joined them, eating fine meals of fish and potatoes with tart berries and cream for dessert. But beyond that, Phineas was off doing God-knows-what.
James visited Leannan once more, but seemed to lose his nerve before he could do anything, escaping with a lame excuse about ‘business to attend to.’
Leannan explored the Council building a bit. It was full of rooms, all connected by hallways, floored with time-worn linoleum. Some of the lesser-used rooms had sagging ceiling tiles, or were filled with little desks and chairs, stacked on top of each other in three-dimensional mazes of metal and plastic.
He stopped exploring after receiving one too many leering remarks from the guards dotted around the building. They weren’t allowed to touch him, by the Council’s decree, but that didn’t stop them from cornering and ogling him when they got the chance.
The only guard who offered a shred of kindness was the Captain, DuPont. He broke up one such gathering, snapping at his subordinates to get back to their posts, before looking Leannan up and down appraisingly. Leannan returned the look; DuPont was a barrel-chested man with dark skin and hair and a shadow of a beard, authoritative and burly.
“You good?” DuPont asked.
Leannan nodded quickly. “Yes, sir, thank you.”
DuPont smiled at him oddly, then reached out and ruffled Leannan’s hair.
“You let me know if they bother you again.”
~~~
What Leannan didn’t find while he was exploring was the fourth Councilman. He was close to cracking and asking someone who they were – but then he met her.
It was evening, and Leannan was walking back to his room after a long outing to Donda Island’s market. He was provided a small allowance of bartering chips, and today he had spent it on perfumes and rouge. It had taken him all afternoon, as he had stopped to talk to every vendor and passer-by who would humor him. He now knew more about Donda Island and its holdings, its imports of textiles and its exports of berry wine and leather; the ever-shrinking fishing business, the struggling dairy farms, and peoples’ anxieties about the coming second summer, when unimaginable heat would descend upon them.
He’d also learned that their view of Phineas was less than favorable.
He was sorting through this information in his head, trying to come up with the best way to present his findings to Phineas, when a sound made him stop outside his bedroom door. Drifting from further down the hall was an unearthly humming. He recognized it immediately, and it sent a flutter through his stomach: an organ.
He’d always thought that ‘organ’ was an appropriate title; the one back in Iowa City had loomed like a great living creature, breathing and singing through what seemed like hundreds of throats and mouths. Leannan had always stared up at it in awe, hardly able to keep singing along himself.
He stood frozen for moment before quickly entering his room and leaving his purchases on the vanity, then returning to the hallway to follow the noise. It lead him along the corridor, one silent step in front of the next, until he determined the door it was emanating from. He was loathe to interrupt the music, but he had to know. He knocked.
The drone stopped, and a woman’s voice called from beyond.
“Come in!”
Leannan opened the door, and stepped into a room far finer than his. The bed was larger, and had a grand canopy of fringed damask, and there were a pair of armchairs and a teatable, in addition to a wardrobe. There was no vanity, but instead two – two! – full length mirrors in one corner. There was a distinct smell; some sort of pine resin smoldered in a dish on the teatable, filling the room with pungent smoke. The main point of interest, however, was a very thin and wan woman sitting in the bed, propped up by countless pillows. In her lap was a long, flat, black box, with a row of black and white keys, just like an organ. It had blinking lights, and wires ran out of it to some sort of contraption sitting in a fading sunbeam on the floor. Electronics, Leannan identified, though he didn’t know much about the stuff.
The woman was staring at him, the bags under her eyes doing little to weaken her icy, piercing gaze.
“You must be the holy concubine,” she intoned.
“Yes, madam,” he replied, offering a little bow.
“I’m Jeanette Faverolle. The missing Council member.” A hint of bitterness tinged her voice. “But you’re not here to listen to me complain. You came for the music, yes?”
“Yes, madam,” he echoed.
“Please,” she waved a hand, “Call me Jeanette.”
“Yes, Jeanette.”
“Sit. I will play for you.”
Leannan perched in one of the armchairs, and Jeanette set her fingers to the keys. Leannan couldn’t help but be a little disappointed; what had sounded so unmistakably like his long-lost home through the muffler of doors and walls sounded tinny and small coming directly out of the electronic keyboard. But it was still the sound of an organ, and it was still music, of a sort; Jeanette moved across the keys at random, slowly drawing out one chord before moving seamlessly to the next, building an eerie soundscape. Leannan closed his eyes and leaned forward, as if he could submerge himself in the noise.
Leannan wasn’t sure for how long he sat and listened, only that he had relaxed fully into the chair, sprawled in it most unbecomingly and completely at peace, when Jeanette quite suddenly lifted her hands from the keys and plunged the room into silence.
Leannan sat up quickly, straightening his shirt. Jeanette was staring him down. The evening light from the windows had faded into darkness, and the room was lit only by a single lantern at Jeanette’s bedside, which cast eerie shadows over her gaunt face.
“You belong to the Council as a whole, yes?” she asked.
“Yes, Jeanette.”
“Therefore I am entitled to a quarter of your time, yes?”
“Yes, Jeanette.”
She nodded brusquely. “Return to me tomorrow, after lunch.”
“Yes, Jeanette.”
“You are dismissed.”
“Yes, Jeanette.” Leannan stood, hesitated, then inclined his head to her. “Thank you.”
Her lips pursed, and her eyebrows pinched.
“Thank you,” she said quietly.
Leannan nodded again, and quietly left.
He walked slowly back down the hallway, dying of curiosity. What ailed the Councilwoman? Why was she never at any of the meetings or dinners? Why had Brochard and James never mentioned her?
His thoughts were cut short by Phineas, fast approaching. Leannan stopped walking and lifted a hand to wave, but Phineas reached him in a rush, catching his waist and fisting a hand in his hair.
“Hej, stranger,” they purred, and kissed him.
Leannan wondered why Phineas was suddenly so touchy after two days of ignoring him, but Phineas explained.
“I shot a deer,” they murmured, nipping at Leannan’s ear.
“Congratulations,” Leannan giggled.
“Come with me.” Phineas practically dragged Leannan to their room, and Leannan spent the next twenty minutes with his head between Phineas’ legs. Afterwards, Leannan crawled up to lie next to Phineas and tried to tell them about what he had learned at the market, but Phineas shoved him off the bed.
“Shoo!” they said unambiguously.
Leannan tried not to be disappointed. Maybe Phineas had more important things to do – but Leannan still felt that the information he’d gathered was valuable. Regardless, he left, returning to his own room – and bumped right into James, who was leaving it.
“My apologies, Master James!” Leannan said immediately.
“Leannan – I was looking for you, I…” James grabbed Leannan’s upper arm and pulled him further into the room, closing the door. He had a wild look in his eye that set Leannan on edge. “I was looking for you, just – hold still…”
James’ hands closed around Leannan’s throat and squeezed.
Leannan had no warning, no time to prepare, and was hit with a jolt of genuine fear. James was supposed to be timid, he was supposed to be all bark and no bite… and yet. Leannan grabbed the Councilman’s wrists and tried to speak, but James was already crushing his throat closed, and it hurt. Horrible little squeaks and croaks were all that could escape Leannan’s mouth. James’ jaw clenched and his eyes were crazed and his arms shook as he clutched Leannan’s neck as tightly as he could. Leannan felt his head growing hot with trapped blood, and knew his face was turning red. Ordinarily when being hurt unexpectedly he would take in air, calm himself, and breath through it, but that wasn’t possible now. His vision started to go gray and fuzzy, and he found himself struggling instinctually. His feet dug into the floor, his shoulders twisted, and his hands yanked on James’ arms. It all only made James grip him tighter, growling something threatening in French. Finally, a coherent thought made its way through Leannan’s adrenaline-soaked and oxygen-deprived brain and he forced his body to fall slack, and rolled his eyes up into his head as if he were passing out. At this, James cursed and threw him to the floor, where Leannan spasmed and sucked in a painful breath through his battered throat. He wheezed helplessly as James stood over him, panting.
“Fucking peasants!” James shouted, “Think they’re above it all! Think they’re better than me?” He lifted his foot back to kick Leannan, tapped it to the ground as he hesitated, then shot it home into Leannan’s gut with a shout of rage. Leannan couldn’t stop the ragged cry that was forced out of him, and he curled up into a ball.
James began to pace, rambling in French.
“Ils demandent toujours ce qu'ils ne peuvent pas avoir!” He punctuated his last word with a second kick, this time to Leannan’s shin. Leannan flinched and whimpered, still disoriented. He didn’t have a plan. He couldn’t handle this.
“Taxes this, taxes that, maybe if you worked a little harder!” James circled around and kicked Leannan in the back, just below his ribs. Tears sprang to Leannan’s eyes, and he urged them on, sobbing.
“Master James!” he wheezed, “Please...”
“Oh, what, are you going to ask for something you don’t deserve too?” He loomed over Leannan, chest heaving; but then he seemed to deflate a bit as he took in Leannan’s pitiful figure on the floor.
“I suppose you do deserve some thanks. That was very… refreshing.” James rolled his shoulders, and his hand drifted to his belt. “Very… helpful.” He contemplated the thought a moment longer before stepping over Leannan and walking to the door.
“I’ll send someone to check on you,” he said, almost sounding regretful, and left.
Leannan rolled slowly onto his back, allowing himself to cry for real. He hadn’t liked that. Not at all. He kept misjudging James, and getting caught off-guard. He lifted a hand and pressed probing fingers to his throat. He didn’t need to look in the mirror to know he wore a necklace of handprints. He sat up, tears rolling down his cheeks. He wanted to go back to Phineas – but he knew Phineas wouldn’t be interested in his whining.
He had to do his duty. He had to endure.
He brushed the tears off his face and forced on a smile, but it only lasted a few seconds before he sobbed again. He didn’t want to have to endure anymore.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered to God, “I’ll be okay in a minute, I swear, I’m sorry. I can do it, just give me a minute!”
He pulled up his knees and hugged them to his chest, hyperventilating slightly as he looked around. His room – the room that was supposed to be all his – didn’t feel safe anymore. He hadn’t even realized that he’d felt safe there in the first place until it was taken away. It felt wrong, now. It felt… It felt a way he couldn’t name. It felt bad, that was all he knew.
So he sat, and cried, and slowly calmed down. He was just starting to struggle to his feet, wincing as muscles flexed under new bruises, when someone knocked on the door. He wiped his hands across his face and straightened his clothes before going to answer it.
It was the pale, frizzy-haired woman, bearing a tray with a steaming earthenware mug on it.
“Yes?” Leannan said, then balked; his own voice shouldn’t have surprised him, but it did, coming out painfully hoarse and low.
“Councilman Faverolle sent you some honeyed tea, monsiuer,” the woman explained, her eyes running up and down Leannan’s figure. Not in the way people usually looked at him, though. Instead of lustful, she looked concerned; her eyes flitted particularly around his neck. She had a sharp, nervous gaze, like a small bird.
“Oh!” Leannan spoke through the pain, “How thoughtful of him!” He lifted the mug from the tray. “Thank you, madam…?”
She tucked the tray under her arm, tilting her head a little funny at being addressed with madam. “Just Maeve.”
“Thank you, Maeve,” Leannan rasped, smiling as best he could, “You should call me Leannan, then.”
She looked at him a moment longer, then nodded.
“You’re very welcome, Leannan. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.”
Once she was gone, Leannan walked to his bed, nearly limping from the pain in his lower back. He set the tea down on his bedside table and stripped, dropping his clothes carelessly to the floor before crawling into bed. He took up the tea and hunched over it, enjoying the warmth despite the summer night.
He was being rewarded. He could endure.
Random worldbuilding question #9!
re:
What aesthetics are considered “advanced” or “futuristic” in your world - canvas wings, shiny chrome, smooth plastic? How has this changed over time?
Okay so realizing after the fact that I’ve got at least three different relatively thought out settings each of which have multiple cultures/groups who probably have different answers for most of these questions, so! Lets pick semi-randomly and then lose track of the question and write seven hundred words of vaguely related free verse.
In most of Abhari, to be ‘advanced’ is to be similar to the latest fashions of the Sublime Commonwealth – the Committee on Industry and Progress is almost universally considered the most important body of state below the Grand Secretariat itself, after all. To be advanced means to be godless, the harvests and tides governed by mesmerisingly complex arrays of mirrored bronze directing aether in accordance to the dictates of Universal Reason. It means rectangular fields and ubiquitous canals, and government by sexless bureaucrats in grey coats and red hats, without family name or native tongue. Schoolhouses and conscription, and architecture that’s long on geometric patterns and short on portraits or idols.
‘Futuristic’ goes a bit beyond that, and the palette to draw with is clockwork and light. Pocketwatches and orreries and everything in between, automota doing the work of couriers and carriages on immaculate city streets, or self-propelled artillery crawling along mountain passes on spidery legs. Grand, illuminated libraries where the secrets and histories of the entire world have been transcribed into a single comprehensible tongue for any member of the public to peruse. Mirrors and lamplight and eyeglasses, and endless, endless reams of paper; every page full of facts and figures, or carefully transcribed reports.
Outsider the Commonwealth, there’s more variance. The artificers and guildmasters of the Holy Illyrin Empire and its sprawling array of vassals and dependencies would, as a rule, take being called ‘futuristic’ as a grave insult, to imply that their work is in some way distinct from their august predecessors is very nearly the same thing as calling them a fraud. Every worthwhile secret of craft and artifice was discovered by ancient masters centuries ago, even if it has perhaps only been unearthed and put to use quite recently by an appropriately respectful modern disciple. To be advanced in the positive sense in to be similar to the Imperial Court, and when the seasons change aristocratic fashion filters out across the land with some delay but enough force to make up for it.
The most impressive and famous workings are full of pomp and ceremony, ancient ritual and treasured heirlooms. The fashion at the moment leans towards ostentatious luxury – floor length cloaks and gowns, proudly displayed tokens of divine favour or noble patronage, cloth of gold and magnificent jewellery, a whole language of gems and patterns to advertise how ones sabre or necklace is enchanted. The most glorious are waited upon by called and bound devils, the right to command the labour of a condemned spirit and set the terms of its parole proof of their honour and lineage.
Conversely, no genius or savant of the Free Cities would object to having their work called futuristic – the heroic figure wresting some world-changing secret from an ancient tomb or the mind of a demon or the depths of their own imagination and winning fame and fortune for it is exactly what all of them are aspiring to be. If a well-read traveller’s image of a ‘city of the future’ isn’t one of the Commonwealth’s idealized and efficient geometric grids, it is surely Celmy or Khasal, sprawling and three-dimensional, full of unmapable paths that cut across each other at nonexistant angles to create impossible shortcuts.
To be advanced is to be rich, to sit at the heart of a globe-spanning trading empire whose markets are full of spices and textiles from continents away, to live in a city that others fight for the chance to visit, where the mere fact of citizenship is enough for magnates to woo you with feasts and festivals for your support in the Assembly. Little distinction is made between a novelty unearthed in a foreign land and brought home and one invented in a workshop down the street – the fact of something being an exotic novelty makes its presence as futuristic as any truly new innovation, and as worth showing off. The aesthetic is spectacle without much thought for restraint or modesty – silver and flame, strongmen and fleshweavers, ecstatic communion or sadistic demonbinding, monumental architecture or a more efficient mill; anything at all that demonstrates a personal surpassing of ones natural state.
“Discover: Types of Loom in Textile Manufacturing”
Loom? What are They? What Do They Manufacture?
Looms is the weaving machine which converts the yarn into a fabric. There is no history of when looms were discovered but one thing is clear that it was before the birth of Jesus christ. There are 2 types of looms: Shuttle Looms and Shuttleless Looms. Below we are going to learn about various types of looms. The end result of this machine is fabric and wholesalers and retailers buy t-shirts in bulk made out of those fabric.
Learn About Shuttle Looms
This is the most primitive loom in the history of loom. In this machine there is a shuttle which contains bobbins and around bobbins there are yarn wounded. In this weaving machine the shuttle travels from one corner to the other and hence the fabric is made. The speed of this machine is 110-225 ppm [Picks Per Minute]. It is quite noisy and inefficient.
Fabric Weaving Without a Shuttle in the Loom Is It Possible?
Projectile Loom
Projectile loom is a shuttleless loom, in this looms instead of a shuttle projectile are there. Projectiles are made out of stainless steel and hence it was light weight. As the projectile lightweight this saves lots of energy and increases the efficiency of the machine. This loom speed was 300 ppm. The weaving takes place when the projectile goes across the width of the loom with the yarn.
Rapier Loom
This loom is also shuttleless. In this loom the weft is carried by a rapier which is a long rod like structure. Many kinds of fabric could be made using this loom and it is highly efficient. The range of GSM things loom could weave is 20-850 GSM. From home fabric to industrial fabric can be made using this loom. There are 4 types of rapier loom in the market.
Single Rigid Rapier Loom
Double Rigid Rapier Loom
Double Flexible Rapier Loom
Telescopic Rapier Loom
Air-Jet Loom
In this loom the yarn is transferred from the force of air, it does not have any shuttle. This loom is highly efficient and versatile. This loom does not make noise because it does not have many moving parts. As the moving parts are less then the floor space requirement and maintenance is low. The weft travels with the help of air pressure and once it reaches the shedding area interlacement takes place. This machine can be used in manufacturing Denim fabric, polyester dress material and cotton shirting fabric.
Water Jet Loom
Water pressure is used in this loom to transfer weft from one end to the other. It is a shuttleless loom machine. The speed of this machine is 600 ppm. This machine is highly efficient but we can use yarn which is hydrophobic, like polyester, polyamides etc. Hydrophilic yarn can not be used.
Papa's Little Helper
Summary: Morgen takes his youngest daughter out to run an errand. Genre: general Word count: ~600
..........
The market was slow the day Morgen went to run errands. Most people moved at a leisurely pace and seemed more interested in the atmosphere of the shopping district rather than the act of buying. He was amongst those easy-going shoppers.
Morgen did have a specific goal in mind…
“Love, I know it’s your day off, but—”
“My heart, there’s no request too grand for me to do for you,” Morgen interjected before pecking Josele on the lips.
Josele giggled then finished her question, “Could you buy new fabric for me? I keep on making clothes for the kids and I’ve finally run out of a few materials.”
“Leave it to me, dear,” Morgen replied. “You go on your new mission without worry. I’ll get that fabric.”
Still, Morgen felt no need to rush.
“Ah, there’s the fabric store,” Morgen mumbled to himself when he spotted the right building.
A soft babble sounded in front of Morgen. Isolde, the newest member of the Faust family, was held against Morgen’s chest in a baby carrier. She cooed again when Morgen smiled at her.
“Yup, we found the palace we need to be to help Mama,” Morgen told the baby. “Now let’s head inside.”
Josele had given Morgen a list of colors and specific textile types she wanted to buy but also added that Morgen can pick a few randomly so she has something to be surprised by.
“So how do we go about picking surprise fabrics?” Morgen asked, looking at Isolde. “I know a few things but I’m not as knowledgeable as Josele. We probably don’t need any more of the sheer fabrics… Maybe we can pick out colors that Josie’s never used before? Ah, but she might hesitate to experiment…”
As Morgen whispered his thoughts, Isolde reached out her hands towards a fabric rack. The rolls were all different shades of purple. Isolde seemed most interested in the lavender-colored roll. Morgen stepped closer to the rack, allowing his daughter’s fingers to brush the material. She let out a pleased gurgle.
Immediately, Isolde began waving her arms and trying to touch the other fabric rolls.
“Oh? You think you’re qualified to judge, is that it?” Morgen joked. “Alright then. Show me what Mama taught you.”
Morgen carried Isolde around the store again, with the goal this time to explore instead of to find predetermined choices.
Walking the floor and between different types of fabrics, Morgen noticed that Isolde tended to focus on the soft, pastel colors. She cooed at a baby blue cotton then looked between it and Morgen. She must’ve recognized that the shade was similar to that of Morgen’s eyes.
Morgen added the baby blue cotton, an azure silk, and navy velvet to his purchase.
Isolde favored grasping at the bolts of fleece, too. Morgen attributed that to Josele wrapping Isolde in a fleece blanket nearly all the time and the baby recognizing the feeling. At one point, she pinched a corner of fleece in her hand and brought it closer to her mouth.
“Wait wait!” Morgen yelped and fumbled to pry his daughter’s hand off the fabric. “That’s not your blanket, Isolde!”
“Guuuu…” Isolde pouted at Morgen and he pouted back at her.
“Don’t give me that attitude, baby,” he mumbled before breaking out in a smile. “Oh, I can’t stay mad at you…” Morgen blew a raspberry into Isolde’s cheek.
A few colors of fleece were bought too.
Morgen called it a day after that.
“Hopefully Josele doesn’t think we went overboard. But if she does, you’re to blame for not stopping me.”
To that, Isolde giggled and clapped her hands.
Melamine Market is Expected to Grow at a CAGR of 3.87% during the forecast period until 2032
The melamine market has witnessed remarkable growth and diversification in recent years, propelled by a myriad of factors shaping the global landscape. Melamine, a nitrogen-rich organic compound, finds extensive applications across various industries, including construction, automotive, textiles, packaging, and food service. Its unique properties, such as high flame resistance, thermal stability, durability, and chemical inertness, have made melamine a versatile and indispensable material in numerous manufacturing processes and end-use applications.
One of the primary drivers of the melamine market is the increasing demand from the construction industry. Melamine-based products, such as melamine formaldehyde resins and melamine foam insulation, are widely used in construction applications such as laminates, decorative panels, flooring, countertops, and insulation materials. With rapid urbanization, infrastructure development, and construction activities on the rise globally, the demand for melamine-based construction materials is expected to surge.
Read Full Report: https://www.chemanalyst.com/industry-report/melamine-market-812
Moreover, the automotive sector represents another significant market for melamine, driven by the increasing demand for lightweight, durable, and aesthetically appealing materials. Melamine-based components, such as automotive interior trim, dashboard panels, door panels, and decorative parts, offer excellent properties such as scratch resistance, color stability, and surface finish, thereby enhancing the overall aesthetics and functionality of vehicles. As automotive manufacturers focus on improving fuel efficiency, reducing emissions, and enhancing passenger comfort and safety, the demand for melamine-based automotive materials is projected to grow substantially.
Furthermore, the textiles industry presents lucrative opportunities for the melamine market, particularly in the manufacturing of melamine-formaldehyde resins for textile finishing and coating applications. Melamine resins impart crease resistance, wrinkle resistance, and color fastness to textiles, thereby enhancing their durability, appearance, and performance. With the growing demand for high-quality textiles, home furnishings, and apparel, the demand for melamine-based textile additives is expected to increase.
Additionally, the packaging industry represents a significant market for melamine, driven by the rising demand for lightweight, durable, and eco-friendly packaging materials. Melamine-based products, such as melamine-formaldehyde resins and melamine foam packaging, offer excellent properties such as thermal insulation, moisture resistance, and shock absorption, making them ideal for packaging applications such as food packaging, electronics packaging, and industrial packaging. As consumers increasingly prioritize sustainability, recyclability, and environmental friendliness, the demand for melamine-based packaging solutions is expected to grow.
Despite the promising outlook, the melamine market faces challenges and constraints, including fluctuating raw material prices, regulatory compliance issues, and environmental concerns related to formaldehyde emissions. However, industry stakeholders are actively addressing these challenges through initiatives focused on product innovation, sustainability, and regulatory compliance. Moreover, strategic partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions are driving consolidation and market expansion in the melamine industry.
In conclusion, the melamine market is poised for continued growth and innovation, driven by its versatile applications, inherent properties, and compatibility with evolving market trends. By leveraging its strengths in construction, automotive, textiles, packaging, and other sectors, the melamine market can navigate towards a more sustainable and prosperous future, ensuring its relevance and competitiveness in the global marketplace.
So we got to the factory and met the Turkish family company ppl that we had met in Vegas. N it’s like silly that I’m thwre bc of course im like a kid and like have no involvement in this n like yeah I’m just always there. So then we were in this like conference room for like two hours I’d say? Maybe more and like they were obv talking about business n shit n I don’t understand half of it so I’m zoned out most of the time thibking about u. Did I tell u about how I thought about about that time I ran away to u😭 I just don’t know if I alr talked about it n I don’t wanna repeat myself. Ok so yeah I was just there n like whatever and they were always offering Turkish tea or Turkish coffee and I loveeee Turkish tea it’s soooo good I just know u would like it I’ll try to buy u some. I took a pic of it for u and they also gave us son Turkish snacks n they were yummy I think u would like them but they were good I just don’t like nuts at all. It reminded me that i wanted to eat Colombian empanadas with uuuu😩😩😩 So then they gave us a tour of the favors which was like an hour n a half it was rlly cool it reminded me so much of my grandpas factory in Colombia I wish I could take u there n like I rmb they would put me to “work”in the factory but all I ever did was like sort some cables or smth just so they could keep me busy n shit. But yes I’d love for u to come. So yes ok so there were sooooo many puzzles everywhere like on the walls like paintings u can see In Some of the pictures I sent. So basically the owner was the one who made all of em he loves puzzles n they’re huge n there was like thirty of them hung. So ofc he was my grandpas age and then their sons were like my moms age and then they have a son who is my age around but he wasn’t there n like ofc it’s just like Ik we don’t give a fucj we too young n whatever. He is in college in amstwrdamn n I kept thinking about us visiting there it would be soooo good. So yes then we went down to the factory on the first floor oh wait we went to the top floor first that was the view it’s so cool. So basically where the factory is is an area where only automotive companies can be so alllll of that area is auto part companies which is cool as fuck to me like a land with only factories and only auto part factories. Well turkey is the country with the best and biggest auto part like industry. It used to be textiles but I think it’s now china or somewhere in Asia. But I’m pretty sure it’s china. This factory supplies to European ford and Renault. That’s called smth like oem Idk what it stands for but yes that means like to the automotive company’s themselves and then there’s another one that’s called after market and so in the auto parts industry it’s either oem or after market. So this company was oem and ours is after market which means to places like o Reilly and other popular ones I forgot the name of. Basically we’re not as “successful”? As them id say? I think they have like more and stuff but it’s all by region so basically they’re rlly good in turkey and in Europe and so ours is like “America” and in Colombia Ik it’s like a “leading” auto part company. But I mean it’s just Colombia. So basically what everyone wants is a “door” to America. Everyone wants to get into the United States industry like that’s why hay everyone wants. If ur in the United States and leading that means ur very successful. And my mom I’ve told u before is in charge of that. My grandpas company is in Colombia but she is like in charge of like the distribution in the United States I’ve kinda mentioned that before. I’m rlly just trynna explain what I understood😭 so Ik I’ve also told u that they want to make a factory in Mexico rmb we talked about monte rey? That ur parents could move there? So the thing is u probably know what nafta is already but if u don’t just know case idk if it’s like an American thing I learned in like middle skl😭 but it means North American free trade agreement and basically Canadá United States and mexico Can trade without like tariffs n stuff. N that’s why “we” don’t like china like
For some reason I kept coming across markets this time around.
First set of pictures are from Borough Market. Borough Market is a wholesale and retail market hall in Southwark, London, England. It is one of the largest and oldest food markets in London, with a market on the site dating back to at least the 12th century. The present buildings were built in the 1850s, and today the market mainly sells specialty foods to the general public.
The following picture is from Neal’s Yard. A cute courtyard I stumbled upon on my way to Seven Dials Market from Covent Gardens.
The last set of photos are from Seven Dials Market. The market take its name from the Seven streets that converge at the roughly circular central roundabout, at the centre of which is a column bearing six sundials – with the column itself acting as the seventh sundial. The seven dials that serve as the foundation for this center represent the last remaining relics of the once-vibrant medieval textile industry. The Site of the market once housed bananas. Whole palette loads were picked green, shipped over from Central America and then stacked floor to ceiling to be ripened under this steel-framed glass roof. The first commercial refrigerated shipment of bananas arrived in Britain in 1902 and were an astonishing proposition for the Brits, who up until this point knew only of apples, pears and other homegrown fruit.
