I was looking up Tetsuji Tamayama for, uhm, research reasons and found these two pics. Is it just me, or do they scream "young Jigen"?

hey question do you have any idea as to what tags people blacklisting for the new Jigen Movie on tumblr? I wanna talk about it so badly but I dunno that tags people are using to prevent spoilers
I have been tagging my tags I want to keep as spoilers as just ‘spoilers’
I also used the actor’s name Tetsuji Tamayama in all my posts to not only use it as an indicator that it’s live action so if you want to blacklist him for me, be my guest
Other people have been using ‘jigen daisuke spoilers’
And if I don’t tag it as spoilers, specifically my videos, I just put everything under the ‘read more’ section to keep most of my thoughts spoil-free.

Last photoset from the 2014 movie! Including Fujiko just straight-up Indiana Jonesing her opposite number (they had a very protracted lingerie-vs-bathrobe catfight earlier), a reasonably good shot of their scruffy Zenigata because he is pretty attractive even if he's not who we're here for, and the only time we get the main five together with nobody else in frame.
Next, the little closing scene wherein Fujiko waltzes off with the loot, Jigen bitches briefly about it, Goemon Batmans out of the scene while nobody's looking, and Lupin and Jigen drive off laughing together, pursued by Zenigata. And then some Instagram-esque filtered shots from the credits.
(I have no fucking idea why they put both "Tetsuji Tamayama" and "Daisuke Jigen" in American name order, but used all-caps for the family name Tamayama and the given name Daisuke. One more baffling life choice for the road, I suppose, which is par for the course with this movie?)
Thank you all for following along! Check out the Tetsuji Tamayama tag on my blog for the rest of my Jigen screenshots from the Lupin III 2014 movie, and here's to seeing what he can really do with the role in October!

So this scene won't make any sense from just the screenshots because I didn't waste any space on the other guy, so here we go. This is Jigen's showdown (such as it is) with the bodyguard guy who actually killed his former boss way back at the beginning of the movie.
So Jigen, having shot up most of a small private army, is down to his last two bullets. (I know it's for drama, but I always have to wonder why he doesn't carry them in multiples of six. XD) This other bodyguard, whose name is Royal, has already been shown to have a shtick where he kills people while they're off guard -- has pistols that will pop out of his sleeves while he's got his hands up, that sort of thing.
So Royal, carrying an assault rifle, has Jigen pretty much pinned down behind this truck, and he yells "Out of bullets? Here, take this gun" and tosses an automatic pistol that slides over and lands at Jigen's feet. He's like "Pick it up, I'll give you five seconds, I won't shoot, I promise", and obviously everybody including Jigen knows he's lying.
But Jigen has two whole bullets, and him being Jigen, that's more than enough. So he kicks the automatic back over and yells "Keep it, twerp! I don't need it!" (The subtitling is very, very loosely translated. I don't have the ear to identify what insult is subbed as "twerp" here.) Then he waits for Royal to advance and try to flush him out of cover.
At just the right moment, as Royal passes in line with the gun of a dead soldier that happens to be aimed in the right direction, Jigen shoots the trigger of that other gun and gets it to fire, hitting Royal in the side. Royal does a complete 360-degree spin off balance, and Jigen steps out of cover, puts his left hand on his hat for badassfulness reasons, and calmly shoots Royal smack in the heart (I assume we didn't have the FX budget or perhaps the rating for a headshot).
Jigen, having now avenged his former master, closes the scene with the tiniest little smug smile, and that's the last time he'll do anything in this movie except stand around looking decorative. Which I will have probably one more post of, and then -- better luck to him and all of us in October! ^_^

I like the introduction of Jigen in Lupin the 3rd live-action movie. Lupin and Jigen's partnership(or friendship) isn't established until 30 minutes into the film. His appearance before the 30 minute mark does make sense if you take Jigen's background into consideration. In my opinion, Jigen in that instance isn't a thief but rather a bodyguard(or mercenary hired on as a bodyguard). The significance of Jigen's appearance in that moment is to establish his character's existence in the movie.
The Lupin the 3rd live-action movie doesn't start with Lupin's group existing already, but rather the formation of it.
It also explains why the introduction, unlike most Lupin the Third animated movies or television special, begins with thieves (including Lupin and Fujiko) instead of the group.
Lupin's connection with Fujiko and Goemon(before his introduction) are already established. Jigen is the unique one.
