something I've been thinking a lot this pride month is when I was questioning my sexuality and gender a couple years back, wondering if I was actually a binary, gay transman or something else entirely, my boyfriend at the time would tell me that I am who I am and that I shouldn't change anything. along those lines.

Now even when I did id as a gay man I still had crushes on girls and women, I just wasn't comfortable really admitting that and felt a sort of responsibility to keep the gay man image up to both my partners at the time (we were poly). Although I knew there was a big shift in my identity already, anytime I seemed to have brought it up it would be brushed off, ignored (by both myself and partners) or id basically pushed back into the closet again.

Now I'm open and sort of more properly out as 2spirit butch fagdyke. It's hard to get into the details of my identity but that's the easiest way to sum it up. I sometimes just wish I could've been my authentic self around the friends I had back then.
