Rumors about the new line continue to spread iPhone 16 smartphones may be equipped with an additional button, as Macrumors writes. In addition, Apple is also planning to move the mmWave antenna away from the left side of the smartphone to accommodate this change. The iPhone 16 Pro's "action button" is expected to be flush with the device as Apple is expected to switch to solid-state technology and ditch the current design. While the action button is expected to change, the volume keys and power keys will remain the same without any changes. These buttons are not currently solid state, although Apple's plans may change. iPhone 16 may get an additional button, and the action button will become solid-state [caption id="attachment_77874" align="aligncenter" width="780"] iPhone 16[/caption] The purpose of the additional button, which sources call the “capture button,” is still unknown. It is expected to be located under the power button on the right side of the device and will be capacitive. Macrumors claims that the new button will be introduced on all iPhone 16 models, including the base iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models. The announcement of the iPhone 16 is expected in September next year.

Social gaming: playing the crowd
Social gaming is a commonly known term to everyone, or at least anyone who has any form of connection to the internet. But the origins of social gaming and its makeup builds a strong basis for its wide spread usage in modern day society. Once a method of connecting small groups of people in its early days, it now has the potential to reach millions of people across the planet with its growth only growing bigger with developments in technology. But its ability to reach people is not the core reason of its popularity, but the capability to create a sense of fantasy through the use of avatars or the capacity to create online superstars through competition which doesn’t require a physical skill or gift is a growing concept.
An Avatar being a phrase created by Chip Morningstar and Joseph Romero in 1985 when designing the online roll playing game ‘Habitat’ (Morningstar & Farmer, 1990) is a concept of creating an online version of an individual which can be used in a number of different ways. It can be used in the simplicity of an online chat room or through video games such as the MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) World of War Craft, in which someone can be represented by an online character under an incognito name which creates a sense of fantasy away from real life. These avatar names a user can play under are what a player comes to be known as, with the better the player the more famous this avatar or user name may become. An example of how a user of a video game may become famous is through sites such as Twitch, a platform which allows viewers to watch streams of their favourite video gamers play. Twitch in a one month span in January 2017 received 146 million views (Quantcast, 2017), with viewers able to donate this creates a level of fame for elite video gamers to make a good living off playing games. The ability of an everyday user to easily access these social gaming platforms and the capability to enter this world of fantasy and potential is an insight to why social gaming is a craze around the world. Whether you enjoy playing video games with your friends or wish to share your gaming ability with the world, there is something for everyone and it highlights why video games are so popular.
I hope everyone enjoyed reading, especially if they enjoy insight into the potentially crazy online video gaming world! I hope people continue to read next week as I will be discussing a new topic in global social media. Have a good week everyone, talk to you again soon!

At least two platforms will change little compared to the current versions Apple will hold an event tonight where, among other things, it is expected to announce new SoCs for the M3 line. [caption id="attachment_77843" align="aligncenter" width="780"] Apple[/caption] And fresh data from a Bloomberg journalist suggests that the new platforms may not be particularly faster than the current ones. At least some huge increase in characteristics is not yet visible. If this data is correct, the M3 SoC will have the same configuration as the M2, that is, eight processor cores (four fast and four energy-efficient) and a 10-core GPU. Apple, aren’t we expecting a 5% increase like Intel? The M3 Pro SoC will have 12 CPU cores and 20 GPU cores, while the M2 Pro has 12 and 19 cores, respectively. That is, the change is very minor. The M3 Max, in turn, will have 16 CPU cores versus 12 cores for the M2 Max, which already looks very good. But the GPU will have 40 cores versus 38 for the M2 Max. Of course, you also need to take into account, firstly, the transition to a three-nanometer process technology, and secondly, possible changes in architectures. So new platforms may well be much faster than current ones even with unchanged characteristics. But, unfortunately, there is no data about this yet. It's also worth noting that the M2 Pro and M2 Max were only introduced in January of this year, and such a quick replacement for them suggests that Apple is still placing a significant bet on new platforms.

Will take place on December 14 Intel has already announced that it will introduce Meteor Lake processors on December 14, but only now has it announced the corresponding event. [caption id="attachment_77679" align="alignnone" width="780"] Core i. Intel[/caption] On this day, Core Ultra will replace Core i. Intel announced the AI Everywhere event It's called AI Everywhere, and the name tells us that Intel will place a lot of emphasis on AI when announcing new CPUs. Let us remind you that Meteor Lake will be the first Intel consumer processor with a hardware unit to accelerate AI. Some mobile Ryzen 7040 APUs already have a similar solution, but so far for most users this is a meaningless part of the CPU. However, according to multiple leaks, a big emphasis on AI will be placed in Windows 12, so perhaps then all these processors will reveal a new side. At the agreed event, Intel will also present Xeon Scalable processors of the Emerald Rapids generation.

OnePlus 12 may be noticeably more expensive than the OnePlus 11 Insider Yogesh Brar shared details about the future OnePlus flagship – the OnePlus 12. He generally confirmed what was said earlier (about a significant upgrade to the camera and a larger battery), but also noted that the smartphone will become more expensive. [caption id="attachment_68889" align="aligncenter" width="780"] OnePlus 12[/caption] It must be said that OnePlus 11 was one of the most inexpensive flagships at the time of release: the price of the version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory in the US was $700. A large upgrade of almost all systems will inevitably affect the cost, but the price was one of the main competitive advantages of the OnePlus 11 - and the OnePlus 12 may lose this advantage. Unless other flagships with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 rise in price even more. OnePlus 12 will get an improved screen, a bigger battery, and a completely new camera [caption id="attachment_68890" align="aligncenter" width="750"] OnePlus 12[/caption] According to the informant, OnePlus 12 will have a BOE screen - the same as the Oppo Find X6 Pro. OnePlus 12 will not be equipped with Tianma and Samsung panels, with which there were problems. As for the battery, its capacity, according to previous leaks, will be 5400 mAh, and in the camera, in addition to the main 50-megapixel sensor, there will be another 50-megapixel (with an ultra-wide-angle lens) and 64-megapixel (with a telephoto lens providing 3- multiple zoom). Yogesh Brar has already published details many times, which were later fully confirmed. For example, this was the case with Redmi A1, Pixel 7, 7 Pro, and OnePlus 11.

Based on Unisoc T606 Tecno introduced the budget smartphone Pop 8, which the manufacturer wanted to make similar to the iPhone. [caption id="attachment_78126" align="aligncenter" width="780"] Tecno Pop 8[/caption] Here this is expressed not only by the design of the camera module but also by the presence of an analogue of the Dynamic Island. For this money, the buyer will receive a device with a 720p screen with a diagonal of 6.6 inches with a frame rate of 90 Hz, SoC Unisoc T606, 3 or 4 GB of RAM, 64 or 128 GB of flash memory, stereo speakers, a 13-megapixel camera and a battery with a capacity of 5000 mA h with 10-watt charging. What is interesting is the presence of a version with eco-leather, which is not usually found in this segment.

With a large inch sensor, it would not be possible to use the latest variable aperture lens After the premiere of Xiaomi 14 Pro, many people had a question: why the company’s new flagship did not receive the inch Sony IMX989 image sensor, which the Xiaomi 13 Pro has? After all, it is known that the larger the sensor, the more light it captures and the better the pictures are, especially in low-light conditions. However, as it turns out, Xiaomi had a good reason. [caption id="attachment_77889" align="alignnone" width="780"] Xiaomi 14 Pro[/caption] Not a downgrade, but an upgrade. The fact is that with an inch sensor, it would not be possible to use the latest lens with a variable aperture F/1.42-4.0 and its stepless change (Xiaomi talks about 1024 levels, but for a mobile device with so many of them we can talk about almost complete smoothness of change in hole diameter). Therefore, the Light Hunter 900 1/1.31-inch optical format sensor was developed specifically for the smartphone line, which, in conjunction with a new high-aperture lens, ensures light capture at the level of an inch sensor. But at the same time, a very high dynamic range is provided (13.5 exposure stops), and the user, thanks to the new lens, has the opportunity to adjust blur and exposure. In general, Xiaomi regards replacing an inch sensor with a smaller Light Hunter 900 as an upgrade, not a downgrade.

Another obvious advantage of HyperOS over MIUI The new flagships Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro feature UltraSpace technology, which provides users with more space to store files (such as photos and videos). So, in devices with 256 GB of flash memory, 264 GB are available, and in the version with 512 GB, 528 GB are available. [caption id="attachment_77829" align="alignnone" width="780"] Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro[/caption] The unique UltraSpace feature in Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro gives users more space to store files How is this implemented? Each flash memory chip has an area reserved for Over-Provisioning features to improve memory speed and reliability. Over-provisioning performs Garbage Collection, Wear Leveling, and Bad Block Re-Mapping. For Over-Provisioning, 10 GB is reserved in the memory chip, so the actual volume of such a chip, with the declared 256 GB, is 266 GB. Xiaomi engineers have found a way to use the space allocated for Over-Provisioning without compromising the reliability or speed of the drive. It is important to note that UltraSpace is only available in smartphones with HyperOS, but, as you know, many of the current devices with MIUI will receive HyperOS next year. Then, in theory, UltraSpace will become available in these models as well.

In just 4 hours Xiaomi 14 series smartphones went on sale yesterday in China and beat the opening day sales of all domestic smartphones over the past year on four major platforms: Tmall, JD.com, Douyin, and Kuaishou. Interestingly, before this, the title of best-selling models was held by more affordable smartphones, including Redmi K60, Redmi Note 12 Turbo, and their competitors. It is also clarified that it took only four hours to set the Xiaomi 14 record. Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro became the best-selling smartphones of 2023 in China in a matter of hours [caption id="attachment_77819" align="aligncenter" width="780"] Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro.[/caption] Let us remind you that the Xiaomi 14 Pro smartphone received a very durable Xiaomi Dragon Crystal protective glass, which increases protection against falls by 10 times.
