Tim Cook previously announced record sales in September International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said iPhone shipments in the Chinese market fell more than expected. He added that iPhone shipments in the Chinese market will continue to decline in 2024, which means that the Chinese smartphone market will continue to change due to the return of Huawei. Based on previous financial reports, Apple expects revenue in the fourth quarter of 2023 to be the same as in the fourth quarter of 2022, meaning Apple's performance will be weaker than expected. Ming-Chi Kuo said that the main reason is the decline in demand for iPhone in the Chinese market. Apple is losing the Chinese market: iPhone shipments fell more than expected [caption id="attachment_80747" align="aligncenter" width="780"] Apple[/caption] Analysts at Counterpoint Research said last month that they estimated iPhone 15 sales in the first 17 days of its launch in China were down 4.5% compared with iPhone 14 sales in the same time period. iPhone 15 sales were lower than expected, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, because many Chinese consumers began returning to the Android camp, such as the Huawei Mate 60. Apple CEO Tim Cook previously said the Chinese market is seeing strong demand for iPhones, with iPhone sales in the September quarter setting a quarterly record in China.

One of the films presented in 3D at the event was Avatar: The Way of Water. The film is available through the Apple TV app (iTunes) and Disney+. To enable 3D movies in Apple Vision Pro, you must update one or both applications. This week, FlatpanelsHD discovered that the updated Apple TV app in tvOS 17.2 beta has added support for 3D movies. The app also lists several movies with a 3D headset-like logo. At least two platforms will change little compared to the current versions Apple will hold an event tonight where, among other things, it is expected to announce new SoCs for the M3 line.  [caption id="attachment_77843" align="aligncenter" width="780"] Apple[/caption] And fresh data from a Bloomberg journalist suggests that the new platforms may not be particularly faster than the current ones. At least some huge increase in characteristics is not yet visible.  If this data is correct, the M3 SoC will have the same configuration as the M2, that is, eight processor cores (four fast and four energy-efficient) and a 10-core GPU.  Apple, aren’t we expecting a 5% increase like Intel? The M3 Pro SoC will have 12 CPU cores and 20 GPU cores, while the M2 Pro has 12 and 19 cores, respectively. That is, the change is very minor.  The M3 Max, in turn, will have 16 CPU cores versus 12 cores for the M2 Max, which already looks very good. But the GPU will have 40 cores versus 38 for the M2 Max.  Of course, you also need to take into account, firstly, the transition to a three-nanometer process technology, and secondly, possible changes in architectures. So new platforms may well be much faster than current ones even with unchanged characteristics. But, unfortunately, there is no data about this yet.  It's also worth noting that the M2 Pro and M2 Max were only introduced in January of this year, and such a quick replacement for them suggests that Apple is still placing a significant bet on new platforms.
