Does everyone have their popcorn ready for the finale of season 2? Tune in here tomorrow for the final episode!
I had a lot of fun lending a hand with the edits for the English fansubs this season, but all thanks goes to @cabalex and staro_sphere for making it possible in the first place! Friday's are gonna start to feel a lil empty now 🥲...

Got a new word count tracking site that I'm gonna use for my next writing challenge that I'm going to start November 1st! The site is TrackBear (https://trackbear.app/) and so far I'm into it.
You can create multiple projects:
Tumblr media
You can create goals and set the goals to update with either all projects, specific projects you select to count towards your goal, or progress updates that are tagged using a specific tag that would count towards your project:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I haven't tested the other stuff yet because I just created this account and am only going to start putting it to work tomorrow, but it just came out of beta so I'm sure someone else has opinions. The leader board page has a button where it looks like you can invite people to your challenges.
A friend tossed this my way as a replacement for NaNoWriMo, and I'm here for it.
Wish me luck, homies.

I have the Beyond Evil
page on Dramacool open, and I just love the way the URL reads the original title they were going for when this whole mayhem began.
https: // asianc . sh / drama - detail / freak - 2021
'FREAK' lol ... yeah that was the original working title wasn't it? Then it went 'MONSTER' Gaemul [in western korean]
Then the more western-ized name 'Beyond Evil'. I keep forgetting that the actual name of the show is 'MONSTER'.
Kind of like with 'The Crowned Clown' the original name is 'The Man Who Became King'.
Anyway... Just a very random observation. Here have a gif just for your troubles.
Tumblr media
yeah I made that. yeah you may use it however you want. I didn't take that video or did them photos. It's all good. Anyway... Yeo Jin Goo is hot, just thought I'd remind you of that too. hahah.

"BLJ" actually stands for Biden Long Jump <isnt sure if youre aware of mario 64 speedrunning technique backwards long jump
and if joe biden was put into half life 2 he'd do an "ABH", as in: Accelerated Biden Hop
#ask#catboygirljoker#oh of coarse i know the mario speedrun tech#i was doing that shit when i was like 6#i cant remember how we learned it but id have to imagine either before or after learning about gamewinners dot com#we used that site for like. everything. especially when we were trying to find blue coins in mario sunshine#speaking of mario. im reminded recently of something didyouknowgaming brought up in a mario 64 video#specifically that the 1-up hidden in whomps fortress's tower behind the breakable wall#and they were like ''oh this was found recently'' (as of the posting of that video) but me and my family knew about it when i was a kid#i couldnt tell you how we knew but. i remember breaking open the wall as a kid through my foggy memory#also as for hl2. recently been doing another run on my new computer.#specifically another gravity gun only run. this time on hard mode just to make sure its possible for me to humanly do#which. i got past the part i thought wouldve been an insane roadblock for me to get past#i have a lot of fun doing the challenge. this is like my 3rd or 4th time doing it.#granted the first few times i did it. it was more me trying to figure out the least ammount of weapons to finish the game.#which my goals with the first few times was like... me just playing through relatively normally without too much speedrun tech#which mainly avoided doing prop jumping. only because i thought it wouldve been much harder than it truely is.#i am a little sad that if i do happen to stream my go-through of the run that it may not be as magical to watch with me knowing what to do#i dont know if id feel confident in streaming at any point in the future. im hugely self conscious#but anyway thank you for your biden tech!!! :)

need to shell out for a new laptop before the end of the year - for a lot of reasons but mainly bc support ending for win8.1 makes fixing the current beast rather pointless :/ (and. admittedly. there is a lot to fix. she's old and she has suffered.)
but my current beastie is from the last gen of laptops with a disc drive and the thought of using an external/usb disc drive is enough to make me cry tears of blood
#really though it is time to upgrade#and i hate to say it because she /runs/ fine it's all hardware issues w parts that can absolutely be replaced#but if i can't use it to run the programs i need then shelling out the money for those parts would ultimately be a waste#but also the fact that this machine that runs fine is no longer worth fixing bc some google-based bullshit just won't support win8.1 anymor#is ALSO a fucking waste & a pile of planned obsolescence bullshit! and i hate it!#but uh. even though she runs fine and she totally does. she does need. uh.#new keyboard (only 1/3 of keys work; currently use usb keyboard)#new trackpad ribbon cable (trackpad does not currently work; using external usb mouse)#new power button and connecting ribbon cable (turning it on involves opening it up and causing an intentional short-circuit every time.)#(a problem largely solved by simply never turning her completely off- except she also needs)#a new battery (current battery does not charge at all; machine needs to be constantly plugged in or it shuts down immediately)#...ok i might be the 'this is fine' dog about this#but i am still upset! that i will no longer have a disc drive inside my damn laptop.#that's the disc drive's natural habitat; that's where it should be; it's weird and offputting to have it connected via usb!#ack. why do tech companies fuck everything up.#and that's without getting into the way new devices offer less harddrive space so people will use the fucking cloud or whatever???#yeah sorry no i'm not using your goddamn data mining corporate off-site storage i want to keep my shit on my own goddamn machine#go to actual hell if you're trying to sell me a pc with less than at least 500GB of storage i swear to fuck#...in essence you could say the whole process is leaving me rather grumpy

Malaysia Studies Sabah and Pahang as Potential Rocket Launch Sites by 2026
The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) is conducting a feasibility study to assess Sabah and Pahang as potential rocket launch sites. Minister Chang Lih Kang said the study will take time as it involves multiple aspects. He hopes construction of the launch facility can begin as early as 2026 to meet the rising global demand for satellite launches, needed not only for…

How to Balance Fixing Performance Issues and Adding New Features in Web Applications?
In today’s digital landscape, web applications are essential for business operations, marketing, and consumer involvement. As organizations expand and consumer expectations rise, development teams are frequently confronted with the difficult task of balancing two key priorities: addressing performance issues and introducing new features.
While boosting performance improves the user experience and increases efficiency, new features are required to remain competitive and meet market demands. Prioritizing one over the other, on the other hand, might have negative consequences—performance concerns can lead to a poor user experience while failing to innovate can result in a competitive disadvantage.
This blog delves into how to balance improving performance and introducing new features to web apps, allowing firms to satisfy technical and market demands efficiently.
Why Balancing Performance and New Features Is Crucial
A web application‘s success depends on both its performance and its features. However, relying entirely on one might result in imbalances that impair both user happiness and business progress.
Performance:Performance is an important component that directly influences user retention and happiness. Users can become frustrated and leave if the application has slow loading times, crashes, or problems. Ensuring that your web application runs smoothly is essential since 53% of mobile consumers would quit a site that takes more than three seconds to load.
New Features:On the other hand, constantly adding new features keeps users interested and promotes your company as innovative. New features generate growth by attracting new consumers and retaining existing ones who want to experience the most recent changes.
The dilemma is deciding when to prioritize bug fixes over new feature development. A poor balance can harm both performance and innovation, resulting in a subpar user experience and stagnation.
Common Performance Issues in Web Applications
Before balancing performance and features, it’s important to understand the common performance issues that web applications face:
Slow Load Times: Slow pages lead to higher bounce rates and lost revenue.
Server Downtime: Frequent server outages impact accessibility and trust.
Poor Mobile Optimization: A significant portion of web traffic comes from mobile devices and apps that aren’t optimized for mobile fail to reach their potential.
Security Vulnerabilities: Data breaches and security flaws harm credibility and user trust.
Bugs and Glitches: Software bugs lead to poor user experiences, especially if they cause the app to crash or become unresponsive.
Strategic Approaches to Fixing Performance Issues
When performance issues develop, they must be handled immediately to guarantee that the online application functions properly. Here are techniques for improving performance without delaying new feature development:
Prioritize Critical Issues:Tackle performance issues that have the most significant impact first, such as slow loading times or security vulnerabilities. Use analytics to identify bottlenecks and determine which areas require urgent attention.
Use a Continuous Improvement Process:Continuously monitor and optimize the application’s performance. With tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, you can track performance metrics and make incremental improvements without major overhauls.
Optimize Database Queries:Slow database queries are one of the leading causes of web app performance issues. Optimize queries and ensure that the database is indexed properly for faster access and retrieval of data.
Reduce HTTP Requests:The more requests a page makes to the server, the slower it loads. Minimize requests by reducing file sizes, combining CSS and JavaScript files, and utilizing caching.
  5. Leverage Caching and CDNs:       Use caching strategies and Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) to deliver content quickly to users by storing files in multiple locations globally.
Why Adding New Features is Essential for Growth
In the rapidly changing digital environment, businesses must continually innovate to stay relevant. Adding new features is key to maintaining a competitive edge and enhancing user engagement. Here’s why:
User Expectations:Today’s consumers expect personalized experiences and constant innovation. Failure to add new features can lead to customer churn, as users may feel your web application no longer meets their needs.
Market Differentiation:Introducing new features allows your application to stand out in the marketplace. Unique functionalities can set your app apart from competitors, attracting new users and increasing customer loyalty.
Increased Revenue Opportunities:New features can lead to additional revenue streams. For example, adding premium features or new integrations can boost the app’s value and lead to increased sales or subscription rates.
  4. Feedback-Driven Innovation:       New features are often driven by user feedback. By continuously developing and adding features, you create a feedback loop that improves the overall user experience and fosters customer                 satisfaction.

Anything new about Bill S 210?
From what the Parliament site says, it hasn't been touched since June. But between now and sometime next year there's probably going to be an election so that can change at any time, especially if they begin to rush things.
#What I find funny is the lack of conservative blowback.#They were soooo against Digital ID in Canada like what - half a year ago?#And now here's a bill that can be used to force Digital ID for any site that may lead to adult material#which is pretty much the whole internet except children's websites#and they're silent!#And people want to elect them here next time. Ahaha.#Canada#Politics#Bill S-210#Keeping their kids safe from online harm is mommy and daddy's problem.#If they give their brat a tablet as a babysitter and never check in or don't implement child safety measures...#Then they're failures as parents.#Young kids should need to earn online privacy.#My dad would always sneak up and look over my shoulder until I was like 15-16 to make sure I wasn't up to something stupid#and it annoyed me at the time but I get why he did it.#I wasn't allowed my own computer until I was like. Mid-teens.#After I'd proven that I could be trusted with it - that I wouldn't get into legal trouble or overshare my info to strangers.#Online access isn't a toy it's a public space with strangers on it.#It's like letting your very young kid go to a public park in a sleazy city alone.#The park is nice but there's a sex shop on every corner and anyone can be in the park.#And my dad - the main parent that raised me - was in the fucking military. He wasn't some guy that was never busy.#But he was able to make time. He was able to familiarize himself with new tech even though he was in his 40s-50s.#It's called having an interest in your own fucking kids.#I guess.#I just wish he'd have practiced what he preached when he taught me how to clear the browser history#lmao
