ok, so I got some very good financial news today, and so I decided to do a big splurge to treat myself. It's not a Devil because even with the good financial news, I still can't justify spending what I see any of the listings for. But I did order an umino, and one other rare Tama that I happened to find a good deal on. Let's just say that I no longer have to use my Tamagotchi Angel when I need a v-pet to run for Christmas season.

no billionaire "worked hard" for every dollar they have.
either they got lucky and started out with a lot of it from their parents, or they exploited others to get it.

Jesus: "It's easier for a camel to pass through the hole of a needle than for a rich person to go to Heaven."
Jesus: "A servant can't serve two lords, because they will love one and hate the other. You can't serve both God and Money."
Jesus: "That widow who donated two coins donated more than the rich person who filled the vase with money."
Jesus: "Don't store up treasures on Earth. (...) For where your treasure is, there will be your heart."
Jesus: "Don't worry yourself sick about owning things. God always rewards work with the means for you to survive (food) and even the little luxuries you need to express yourself (fine clothing)."
Jesus: "Don't be like that rich fool that worked so hard to accumulate grain and was so happy when he finally got to a point that he owned enough to never go hungry again. He died that same night, so what was all that for?"
Jesus: "Woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go hungry."
Jesus (to a pious rich person): "Oh, you observe all ten commandments since youth? Good. But if you really want to go to Heaven, sell everything you have, donate to the poor and follow me."
(and I could go on, but you got the point)
----
"Christian" leaders: "If you work hard you will make lots of money because having lots of money is a sign that Jesus loves and blesses you! :)"

Just wanted to let you know that I saw your Tumblr post about your Patreon and I immediately signed up! I didn't realize you had one, I get that you can't advertise it on Ao3, but you deserve to feel comfortable advertising it. Your stories and art are amazing and they are worth it. You deserve to be rewarded for all your hard work. :)
Ahhh that's so sweet, thank you so much!!!
I just, in general, try not to advertise my Patreon too much. It's listed on my pinned post, and I bring it up whenever there's a promo running, but I totally get being constantly bombarded by ads and I don't want my work to contribute to that. It's also why I don't use the tip feature on Tumblr, or mention Ko-Fi.
That being said, as I cut more and more into my savings, I may have to bring it up more often, and do apologize for that ;_; It really means so much that you saw my post and felt my work is worth supporting!

I haven’t complained abt this here yet but my computer lobotomized itself while I was recovering from surgery last week and won’t connect to the internet. We’ve tried everything - taking it apart for the WiFi chip, updating drivers, the whole shebang. Waiting on a backup from August to see if that fixes it; if not, I might need to actually buy a new PC :(

My brother said something the other day about how no-one could prove if the current anti-Israel boycotts are actually making an impact cuz there could be other reasons people aren't eating at McDonald's or whatever
But besides the fact that there are many articles easily find-able online saying that the companies are aware of and feeling the impact of such protests, and some are even making some changes, I needed to make a point to him about why I participate in boycotts whether they're successful or not
But my brother tends to get annoyed and stop listening whenever I talk real politics, so I tried to make a really simple analogy
Let's say there's a man outside our house, and he is just beating people to death with sticks. Not people from our neighborhood, but still, people. We can't call the cops to stop him, because they think he's doing a great job. And we can close the blinds and ignore him, but he's still there and we know it.
And he has a big pile of sticks, so when one breaks he can get another to beat the next person to death with
So one day you have to go outside and the man turns to you and says, "Hey. Can you pass me a stick?"
And maybe it doesn't matter if you do or not. Maybe someone else will give him a stick anyway, or he'll get one on his own, or he'll start punching people
But I don't want to give him a stick.
And maybe I can't stop him, but I at least don't want to help him
At this point my brother tried to make a joke (because that's what he always does in every conversation) and he said something like "What if you don't give him the stick and then he beats YOU to death"
And I was like, "That's a great point, actually, because the Yemeni wouldn't let weapons shipments through their waterways so Israel bombed them."
And the analogy was broken but. I hope I made my point
Maybe I don't have the power as an individual half a world away to stop a genocide. But I at least want to not contribute to it

Actually I’m gonna go more in depth here. Tags were before I wrote this part.
Even with a basic savings account, the 10million will quickly outsize what the 1k a day is capable of.
1k a day, may as many have said, reach 10million in 27 years.
But the 10million in those 27 years, even from just basic interest, could reach a lot more.
Like this:
I’ll put the interest rate at 3%. Modest conpared to some, but reasonable. It’ll partially account for how interest rates fluctuate form high at 5 to 6% to lows of 1%
Lets say you spend 1 million to get a house, pay off loans, decrease your weekly expenses.
9 million stowed away for interest.
After 1 year, 9 million becomes 9 270 000 (increased by 270 000)
The second year, that becomes 9 548 100 (278 100 increase)
Third year: 9 834 543 (286 443 increase)
Fourth Year: 10 129 579 (295 036.29 increase. Im lazy and ifnrinf the .29 tho)
At least point you have officially recouped the money you spent paying off loans/buying a house or using as simple spending money.
Fifth year: 10 433 466 (303 887 increase)
Sixth Year: 10 746 469 (313 003 increase)
Seventh Year: 11 068 863 (322 394 increase)
Eighth Year: 11 400 928 (332 065)
Ninth Year: 11 742 955 (342 027)
Tenth Year: 12 125 243 (352 288)
Eleventh Year: 12 489 000 (363 757)
And after 11 years the interest alone almost matches the amount you get each year from the 1k a day.
And with each year the bench mark to match the lump sum amount shifts ever farther.
(By 27 years, the lump sum person with a modest interest rate of 3% could potentially have gotten to 20 041 171$. Double the original sum, and double the ‘goal post’)
All this is with a more reserved interest rate. If you had a higher interest rate or were actively investing, this would be rather different. A 5% interest rate would’ve matched and surpassed the rate of 1k a day in the first year at 450 000 a year (not accountjng tax on the interest) even a 4% on 9 million puts you just under at 360 000 per year, meaning the bery next year youve surpassed it.
Additionally, if you are still working a job, you likely have saved additional money due to not having to pay off loans/pay rent or other stuff. Obviously i habe not accounted for that variable.
Any bad marhs is cause a) its 8 am and i havnet slept wheee (also probably did this a harder way than i needed to)
And also maube just me funbling them keys and numbers fjjfjf.
Explain your reasoning plzzz
#im surprised how many people are choosing the 1k a day#when like doing the math you wont even fet close to the 10 mill at once#and with a limp sum at once you xan more quickly get a house and defrease your weekly/monthly expense of rent#cs havibg to wait a year or more to save up enough (or howver long yous beed for just the loan so maybe only a few mobths)#plus with 10 mill youd get interest#i do wish these thibgs would say what currency like usd or whatever your own currency is?#cause like 10mill usd is#16 627 000 ish nz dollars so#vs 10 mill nz being like 6013000 ish in usd so#but even so lump sum defibitely#and interest rates even if it was like 1% youd get like 100 000 k or sone shot for it#and then that gets taxed but youd still be getting more in retunr#which you could donate and use to help epople in shit#can help more people with 10 mill than#well lemme do the actual maths for how mcuh youd grt with the 1k a day#im dumb i did my maths wrong#you would get more in the end with the 1k a day oops#why did i matth so pooorly noooo (i missed a 0 on the 1k lol)#so with the 1k a day youd get 365 000 a year#over 60 years thats 21 900 000 so yeha better than the 10mill just over a long amount of time#oops my math did a fuck up wheeee#and im too lazy to delte my tags#even so having a lump sum at the start would help some people oit of having to pay rent and shit constantly and pay off loan interest and#but idk if the interest on the lump sum would beat out the total over the uears for the 1k a day#plu witj 1k a day i suppose you always habe the security of knowing youre gonna get that money even if soneone hacks your account or some s#tho depending on the interest rate with the 10 mil if you dont touch it for a bit#you will end up making more interest per year than youd get per year with the .1k a day#fuck im almost at tag linit. but anyway if youre ahove 3% per year for interest youll get the same amount back basically#then interest gets taxed but even so within a few years youll be getting more interest than with just the 1k so long as you dont touch stra#dont touch it straight awya

Fidaa is very dear to me. I saw the video she took of the bombs. We cannot imagine the horrible nights she suffers with her innocent children. We cannot imagine her daily hardships. We cannot possibly fathom the depth of her heartbreak.
YET SHE HAS HOPE. SHE WILL SHARE HER FAVORITE FOODS WITH ME AND WE WILL WALK THROUGH BEAUTIFUL GARDENS TOGETHER. THIS IS A REALM I *CAN* IMAGINE. BECAUSE IT IS MY HOME. DARLING SILA SHALL HAVE DOGGIE FRIENDS TO PLAY WITH AND LEARN TO SWIM AND THE TINIEST MAN HAMMOUD WILL BE A BIG HANDSOME AND HAPPY GUARD OF THE INNOCENT. PERFECT STRENGTH AND GENTLENESS AND HIS MOMMIE'S WISDOM.
Our dear friend el-shab-hussein has told us to be helpful and adopt a family to assist their fundraising. I have made some of the dearest friends I have ever had, some I am honored to even THINK of as my family. That I should be so lucky makes me ashamed sometimes. And truly, I wonder if I'm not partly compelled to share all my good fortune as quickly as possible to defy this feeling. Feeling undeserving or greedy or selfish or wasteful. Or god forbid, feeling guilt that can never be lessened.

you may have seen me post about fidaa’s campaign @fidaa-family2 (this is a verified campaign)
graphic by @fading-event-608
fidaa is a 29 year old woman from gaza with two very young children, muhammed and sila, one of whom was born during the war. her home was destroyed and she’s been displaced many times, and is currently separated from the rest of her family- her husband, her many siblings, and her parents. i can only imagine how nerve-wracking this is.
she’s doing her best to take care of her children by herself, despite facing hunger, thirst, widespread disease, and the threat of death. the other day, there was intense bombing near her and another family close to her was killed. life in gaza right now is hell and she told me they feel like they are just waiting for their turn to die.
fidaa and i talk often, and i feel lucky to know her. she’s an incredibly strong person, she travels long distances to find limited supplies for her kids and helps her siblings raise money even though shes separated from them.
but she needs help. the situation in gaza is so bad right now, the idf is preventing aid from entering and the food, water, and medicine available are extremely expensive. please share and donate to help her and her children survive and eventually leave gaza

i need to find somewhere to work a second job that would be a flexible schedule and let me work like 4-6 hours a week (I don't think I've got energy for more than that), not a conflict of interest with my full time gig and nearish to my house so I can make an extra $300 a month

NO TIME LEFT FOR A PALESTINIAN GIRL AND HER FAMILY
Last spring, Laila contacted me asking me for help spreading her family’s campaign. It’s been over six months and it still hasn’t met it’s goal. I don’t even know what to say anymore to convinve peoole to care- I feel like everyone who’d be motivated to help already is. Literally any amount of money helps, and even if you are genuinely too broke to donate a dollar, spreading these campaigns so someone who can help matters. I fear for Laila every day, even before my account was terminated (which I can only assume was related to the spree of deletions occuring while people accused Palestinians and their supporters of being scammers) I hadn’t spoken to her in weeks, and I can only pray that she’s still alive- along with her pregnant mother and the rest of her family. Her cousin, Tala, had her account terminated, and her gofundme has closed. We’ve failed Tala, but it’s our obligation to help Laila before it’s too late as well. I’m offering commissions in exchange for donations of at least $15, examples below, and if anyone else has something to offer in exchange for commissions, I encourage you to sound off in the reblogs.
Every day there is a new massacre, a new atrocity, a new act of inhuman cruelty. We need to help those whose genocide is funded by our tax dollars. Laila is such a sweetheart, she’s an eighteen year-old girl who should be studying and beginning her life, not hunkering down in a tent while bombs fall around her like rain. Please spread this and donate whatever you can.
€32,195/€45,000- €2,815 TO €35K
