2024年も日々更新状況を公開しながらまとめていたので、1月中にベストトラックを公開することができました。

以下の段階を経てベストトラックを選んでいきました(それぞれプレイリストとして公開しています)。

2024年全曲

毎週火曜日と金曜日に公開されるSpotify公式の新曲プレイリストで気になった曲、知人や有識者がSNSでお薦めしていた曲、音楽ニュースサイトの記事で気になった曲、日々の生活の中で耳にした曲、そんなちょっとでも気になった2024年リリース曲からカバー曲、リミックス曲、現時点で再生できない曲を除いた1686曲。

2024年全曲から、改めて聴き直し「今だったらプレイリストに追加しないな」という曲を除外した1580曲。

2024年ベストトラック候補から「信頼できる音楽好きの友人6人に聴いてもらいたい曲か？」という観点で選んだ790曲(なんなら全部ベストでいいんじゃないかというくらい良曲ばかり)。

2024年ベストトラック候補(2nd)からそれぞれ最低10回は聴き直して選んだベストトラック157曲(ベストトラックで157曲って多すぎでは････と思うかもしれませんが、これ以上は削れません)

例年、間を置いて聴くとスキップしたくなる曲がいくつかあったのですが、流行りものだったり、居もしない誰かに対する忖度だったりで削り切れていない曲が含まれていたからで、今年は絶対に何年でも聴き続けられるように絞りに絞りました。

Triola new release "Scapegoat"

2023.10.20 New release from Constructive (UK)

波多野主催の弦楽プロジェクト、Triolaの新作がイギリスConstructiveレーベルより、LP,CD,Download,配信にてリリースされます。国内のご予約が開始されました。

「架空のオペラ」として仕上げられた今作には、全てのインスト曲に詩が存在し、１つの大きな物語のもと制作された。前作「Chiral」同様、メンバーの須原杏と共に録音を行う。ゲストにはyumboの澁谷浩次、山本達久、石橋英子、千葉広樹らが参加。 ぜひ、歌詞と共に前編を通して聴いていただきたい大作です。

Triola, a string project organized by Hatano, will release a new album on LP, CD, download, and distribution through the Constructive label in the UK. Domestic pre-orders are now available.

The new album is a "fictional opera" in which all the instrumental pieces are accompanied by a poem, and were produced under the theme of a larger story. As with the previous album "Chiral" the recording was done together with Anne Suhara, a member of the band. Guests include Koji Shibuya of yumbo, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, Eiko Ishibashi, and Hiroki Chiba.

It is a great work that we hope you will listen to throughout the first part of the album along with the lyrics.

Giovanni is an excellent pianist and composer and here he is with some favorite musicians. Long pieces that skew towards an ambient/soundtrack-y feel. Music for your workday.

Speaking of Eiko (above), I’ve been re-listening to this one quite a bit. Eiko is also a composer that creates soundtracks (check her recent music for the award-winning film Drive My Car). This one is an ode to her favorite Law & Order character. Essential.

Bonjintan, 'Dental Kafka' CD (Trost)

Wow, this thing is a great beast all the way around; from the wonderful album art (featuring some really nice JO snaps and a band photo with O'Rourke looking like a total badass at the bass), to the amazing gatefold CD cover Trost has been rocking these past years, to the masterful (direct to 2 track!) recording, to the utterly fantastic playing contained within, it's all winning. I have and had heard the Delivery Health albums that preceded this (this album is that trio plus Akira Sakata), but they're not nearly as engaging as this, with its fierce mixture of wonderful, out improv-y extended playing and ECM-ish groove-ish based sections; the group mind on display here is truly staggering. On a personal note, I picked up from his sound and technique that this *must* be the same drummer as the one on the last JO songs album, 'Simple Songs' - I had not memorized his name yet - and I was happy to discover it is in fact the same guy, which also made me realize that he's the Delivery Health drummer too, therefore creating another pleasing little whorl of personnel in the JO world; what an album - may not make a thousand repeat listens, but truly great.

What others call a “band”, Von Spar see as a modular system. The creative community of Sebastian Blume, Jan Philipp Janzen, Christopher Marquez and Phillip Tielsch is in a state of constant flux. Von Spar is an interface, providing access to rediscovery and fresh experience of, to all intents and purposes, the familiar. The inspiration for 'Album l' and 'Album Il' began with a performance by Japanese musician Eiko Ishibashi at Cologne's Week-End Fest in 2019. For this appearance the renowned experimental musician and composer of the Oscar-winning film „Drive My Car" was joined on drums by Tatsuhisa Yamamoto and Joe Talia; both integral members of the top-level improvisational/ experimental scene in Tokyo. While in town for the festival, Ishibashi met up with the members of the Cologne-Berlin based group Von Spar who featured Ishibashi on their then new album "Under Pressure".
