MASTERLIST | PROLOGUE | TO THE NEXT CHAPTER
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐥𝐟’𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐧.
People chattering about unimportant matters, taking swigs of saké, finally enjoying the gentle breeze of a summer night without drawing their blades to defend their lives were delightfully comforting. The Seireitei was gradually going back to restore its former beauty. Some buildings were still undergoing renovations, the injured soldiers and Captains were still recovering from the fierce battles they had fought, but that night people were, at least, leaving their barracks and homes to enjoy the jollifications of Yhwach's downfall.
No more battlecries and bloodcurdling screams of agony echoed through the streets, replaced by the unmistakable glee of a crowd of people who had survived the brutality of a war no one was prepared for. There was hope twinkling in the eyes of the kids playing around the Soul Society, looking for the officers who had saved their lives to thank them and proudly announcing they were soon going to enroll at the Academy. Their parents, injured and tired, watched them from afar, not frightened anymore by the idea of a Sternritter slicing their heads off of their shoulders.
You faintly smiled, your eyes searching for your friends to join them. You were pretty sure you had caught a glimpse of Renji's crimson hair in your peripheral, but you had been dragged in the opposite direction by the human tide marching towards the drinking stalls.
Perhaps, you should have accepted Rukia's suggestion to spend the day at the Kuchiki Estate and attending the festival together. Yet, the idea of bumping into her stolid, grumpy brother, who tended to pop out of no where and make you regret stepping into his manor every single time you wandered through the intricate corridors of his mazy house, sounded unappealing back then.
Still, the perspective of being humiliated by Byakuya's paternalistic way of chiding you did not seem that awful now that you were literally adrift and in need of assistance to find your way out of the flood of drunk and dancing people surrounding you.
You were genuinely frustrated, head whipping around erratically, yearning to spot a familiar face. Apparently, you were destined to spend the night alone. Or so you thought.
Hands sliding down your hips and dragging you out of the crowd made you both let out a pathetic screech and almost draw your blade. The risk of accidentally slashing someone, though, worked as a deterrent to unsheathe your zanpakuto and therefore you resolved on the self-defence lessons you had received from Urahara. Swinging your right arm on your right, you tried to backhand your kidnapper across the jaw. Missing your target, you scoffed and, when your feet touched the ground again, you were determined to knock your aggressor down.
His hand promptly wrapping around your ankle the moment your foot tried to hit his side, prevented you two from spending a most likely awkward night in the Fourth Division's hospital wing. Now, face to face with the stranger, your jaw went slack and you were glad he decided to break the ice first. Out of everyone you could run into, of course you had to meet your most recent fling.
"We need to stop meeting like that" Shuhei jested, cocking his head to the side upon letting go of your ankle and granting you the chance to lower your leg.
Your parted lips closed, hands tugging the hem of your skirt down, whilst the angles of your lips lifted in a soft smile "Definitely" you agreed, nodding your head and raising your hands apologetically.
"I think you owe me a 'thank you, Lieutenant Hisagi'. Maybe also a kiss, or two to idolatrize me like I deserve, you know?" he bantered, folding his arms against his chest, his dark grey eyes vainly attempting to fathom the layers of your mind .
But you both knew there was only one person around who could do that and, surely, it was not Shuhei Hisagi.
You scrunched up your nose and waved your hand at him dismissively, mentally cursing yourself for not having cleared things out between you two before the commotion caused by the war. How could you, though? With you living in the World of the livings and being a university student with a part-time job at Urahara's shop, you did not have much time left to visit the Soul Society.
On the other hand, Shuhei was always swamped with work and dealing with his new Captain was decidedly a challenge. After that one-night stand you had a couple of months ago, when you offered him a place to stay to spend the night after a mission in Karakura, you had not talked about your relationship anymore. What were you two? Allies and friends aside, obviously.
"There's no need to gloat. I'm not a damsel in distress. I would have found my way out of there anyway. — you replied, a tinge of feigned annoyance in your voice as you shot an arrogant look at him — Sorry about it, but no kisses tonight" you added, right before you heard someone calling out your name at your back.
You glanced above your shoulder quickly, eyes landing on Rukia and your younger step-brother, Ichigo, waving at you enthusiastically. It was refreshing seeing them smile again after everything you all had been through. It still felt surreal.
Shuhei followed your gaze, quirking a dark eyebrow up resignedly. Another day wasted in trying to figure you out, another chance to confess his feelings evaporating before his eyes.
"Just tonight? What about tomorrow?" he asked you, a small grin crossing his lips as you felt cold sweat collect on the back of your neck. He was undoubtedly giving it his best shot.
"You are persistent. The war changed you, I see" you commented, avoiding his question as you always did.
"I know what I want now. Or better, who I want".
His words caused you to falter, lips parting as you let the implications of his assertion sink in. He wanted you, he had really just thrown his intentions at your face and left you with the burden of making such a decision over a night, letting it weigh on your shoulders at the worst moment possible. Maybe you deserved it: striving and ripping your heart out of your chest, while everyone else cheered and celebrated the incoming years of peace and stability, was nothing but the law of retaliation you had ended up subjecting yourself to with your evasive way of handling love-issues.
You swallowed forcefully, but before you could even pronounce his name again, Ichigo's voice pierced your ears again and you shrugged in defeat, taking some lumpish steps back to join your crew.
"I really should go. See you tomorrow, okay?" you stated way too quickly for your own likings, hoping he would drop the topic for the time being.
Shuhei nodded his head at you, hands raising to give you the thumbs-up "No problem" he reassured you, but you could tell he yearned to spend more time talking with you. His gaze was longing for more than a frivolous chit-chat, just like it did that infamous night spent in talking on the small balcony of your flat, among the bittersweet scent of peonies.
You two had an undeniable connection. But it was not enough for you. It would have never been enough, because you had, much to your dismay, molded your standards over the worst person ever. You refused to even say his name, to add another problem to deal with to your already plagued mind, even if you had to admit you had not been able to get him out of your head since you crossed paths again on the battlefield a few days ago.
That man, your nemesis, the achetype of everything you should have viscerally hated, was undeniably the only one who knew what secrets your eyes harboured. Your relationship with him was far from being healthy.
It was the antonym of healthy, actually.
A public enemy, an emotionally unavaiable man with a pretty evident god complex could never be able to show empathy to anyone, not even to himself. Surprisingly, though, your interactions had always been quite inspiring. Who was this man? A brilliant genius gone bad, alone, utterly alone. It was infuriating how he could read your mind the same way he read your body language during a fight. Drawn to him, you wondered why you had always had such a low sense of self-preservation and found yourself enticed by unreliable men with a debatable scheme of things.
"Gosh, what did Shuhei tell you? You look distraught" Rukia noted, furrowing her brows.
"Distraught? You've been way too kind. She looks more like a cantankerous granny who got rolled over by a car" Ichigo interjected, earning a kick in the shins by the short shinigami.
Or, as you loved to call her, his biggest 'what if'.
Fixing your attitude, you forcefully smiled, shrugging it off with a nod "Oh, it's nothing! I haven't slept well in that Inn. — you partially lied, albeit your back agreed with your complaint — It's more like I'm not used to sleep on the floor" you added, as the three of you took what you assumed was a short-cut to the village square.
"I will pretend to buy your words. Frankly, just because I heard there's a stall selling plushies of Chappy and I intend to purchase the limited edition one" Rukia saved you, tugging at the hem of Ichigo's sleeve to drag him along and leave you some space to clear out your mind.
You were glad Rukia had seen it in your eyes. You would have caught up with them later on. For the time being, all you needed was a distraction. A distraction in the form of saké and candy floss, to be precise. A weird mix, way too sugary and disgusting, but with your head in the clouds and your heart sinking into a sea of sorrow you did not feel like self-deprecating about your eating habits.
Distancing yourself from the jolly atmosphere around you sounded like a good idea and you therefore decided to venture towards the old barracks. You did not pay much attention to where you were going, your feet led you up through a wooden staircase, your hands occupied by your snacks, as you kept on brooding over your shortcomings. On top of that stood your inability of trying to be happy, for once.
"Fuck it all, fuck me and fuck him" you grumbled, gulping down the alcohol in search for a magical solution to your problem.
You were soon spent, the taste of the saké mixed with sugar left such a syrupy taste indulging on your tongue that you almost felt like puking. The Moon was no longer shining up above, ominous and dark clouds gathered on the horizon, ironically matching your mood. Not long after the first thunder rolled out in the distance, a droplet of water splashed onto the tip of your nose and you pouted. Rain. It was raining.
You could not make it back to your room at the Inn to find shelter and you were way too far from your friends's quarters to make it in time before it began to pour. Also, how would you have made it there in the first place, when you kept on stumbling on your feet and your vision was beginning to get blurry?
Cussing under your breath, you glanced at the doors at your right. No officers were there, or at least so you had been told. The idea of getting soaked not to barge in and wait for you to sober up out in the rain did not even crossed your mind for a second. Marching towards one of the doors, you sighed and raised your hand to slide it open. Your grip on the jug, thoug, loosened, your hands trembling all of a sudden making you frown, as the sound of pottery shattering into a million splinters made you flinch. How did it happen? Were you really that far gone?
What you did not expect, though, was for your knees to buckle as the wave of a familiar reiatsu hit you with such a force to make your rotula ungraciously hit the floor. You were drunk, there was no doubt about it, but you were not hallucinating. Your wary eyes flicked up, the sharp jawline of the man you had been cursing for years and longing for blessing your vision like a lucid dream. The eye-patch, the way his lips curled into a cocky grin upon watching you struggle onto the floor, even his posture gave away the fact that it was not a trick your mind was playing on you.
He was there, a palm away from you.
You gawked, the tall man in front of you peering down at you like someone who was inspecting a wounded animal at their doorway with unbridled curiosity. There you were, unable to move a muscle, out of your mind and puzzled by his presence. He was not supposed to be there.
"Fancy meeting you here" he chimed, hands behind his back, as he leaned forward just enough to make sure your eyes were staring deeply into his shimmering caramel one.
Your mouth had gone dry, it felt like chalk, a million of questions popping into your mind one after the other made your head spin. You were supposed to talk, to say something, to stand up and leave but all you did was whispering a name, his name.
"Sosuke" your vision darkening, as you eventually slumped down at his feet with a thud, unable to withstand the stress and his reiatsu in the poor state you were in.
How he had missed the way you, only you out of everyone, called him by his first name, even if he had almost killed your step-brother and your beloved father. There was no way he was going to leave you, the potential form of entertainment at hand, stay out there alone, unconscious, and miss his opportunity to get under your skin as he always had done.
“Pitiful” he uttered, rolling you over your back with his foot and bending down to hook his hands underneath your armpits to drag you inside the warm room.
You two could not know it back then, but this was the first link in a chain leading to a series of unfortunate events that were going to inevitably end in only one way. The day you were going to hold a pregnancy test in your hand, standing on the threshold of Kisuke’s shop, staring at him with a dumbfounded expression on your face, was not that far.
AUTHOR NOTE.
My dear readers, I am honored to finally introduce you to my Aizen Sosuke fan fiction. I had been thinking about this for months. I still have no idea of how many chapters long it will be. Stick around and find out yourselves. All I know is that the next chapter is going to be shameless filth. The same story will be uploaded on my Wattpad profile under the username of @/muzansfangs. As per usual, likes, comments and, mostly, re-posts are greatly appreciated.
Love, Luce ✨

Asteroid impact threat estimates improved for the Earth and the Moon
An international team is currently closely tracking the near-Earth asteroid 2024 YR4. The impact probability estimates for the year 2032 has been reduced from a peak of 3 percent to below 0.001 percent.
Asteroid 2024 YR4, first discovered in December 2024, triggered a first-ever notification from the International Asteroid Warning Network (IAWN) on January 29th 2025. The early calculations predicted an impact probability of 1.3% with Earth on December 22nd 2032 and estimated its size between 40 and 90 meters. These estimates gave the asteroid a Torino scale rating of risk level 3 in the range of 0-10, which meant a target meriting close attention by astronomers.
The global astronomy community quickly launched an international observing campaign, in which the researchers at the University of Helsinki have been at the forefront. Postdoctoral researchers Zuri Gray and Grigori Fedorets have been following the asteroid closely since January 30th.
They observed the asteroid using the 2.5-meter Nordic Optical Telescope (NOT) in La Palma, Canary Islands, which the Finnish astronomers have used for a long time to study asteroids close to Earth.
– We have been focusing on the asteroid’s precise position and motion, and to analyse its rotation, size and shape. This information is crucial for better predicting the asteroid’s future trajectory, and ultimately refining its impact probability, says Gray.
–  Our recent observations continue to demonstrate the vital role that NOT plays in planetary defence efforts on a global level, adds Fedorets.
Lunar impact as a risk
During mid-February, 2024 YR4’s impact probability peaked at 3%. It is the highest ever probability attained by any asteroid of the size range to pose a significant threat, in the recorded history of asteroid impact risk estimates.
The observations were briefly halted due to the full moon drowning out the asteroid’s faint signal, but the researchers in Finland were the first to obtain new data following the full moon. The observations resulted in a significant drop in the impact probability, which currently stands below 0.001%.
Meanwhile, the latest data and calculations have brought out a new, although a smaller risk: there is currently a 4 % chance of the asteroid impacting the Moon instead.
– Should the asteroid impact the Moon, the Earth-Moon system could be clouded with particles detached from the Moon and the asteroid, potentially threatening the human space infrastructure and operations, explains Academy Professor Karri Muinonen.
Infrared radiation refined the size estimate
The James Webb Space Telescope observed the asteroid on March 26th. The postdoctoral researcher Eric MacLennan is a key member of the team analysing the asteroid’s infrared properties. James Webb is currently the only telescope with the capability to measure thermal emission.
– The initial diameter estimate of the asteroid was limited to visible light measurements, which depend on both the size and reflectivity of the surface. However, thermal emission at infrared wavelengths is a direct indicator of the size. Our first attempt to observe the thermal emission on March 8 was not successful, so it was a relief when the images were transmitted back from the telescope, explains MacLennan.
After hours of work, the team arrived at an estimate: there´s 95 % chance the diameter is 46 - 74 meters. This size determination will help astronomers assess the potential consequences of an impact with the Moon.
Despite the reduced risk, Earth-based and space-based observatories will continue tracking YR4 through April or May 2025, after which it will be unobservable from Earth until its next close approach in 2028.
Persistent work paid off
In February, NOT was one of the most fast-acting and accurate data providers in comparison to other similar instruments for the global planetary defence community – a testament to the dedicated long-term work for the telescope by its staff, engineers, students, and scientists from the Nordics.
– We were able to very quickly observe the asteroid and refine the estimates for it. The flexible, high-quality, medium-sized astronomical facilities like the NOT are crucial for rapid follow-up of these type of potentially hazardous asteroids, says Associate Professor Mikael Granvik
– We have unique scientific know-how at the University of Helsinki for contributing to planetary defence, encompassing astronomical observations, laboratory measurements, theoretical and numerical research, and characterising near-Earth object orbits, rotational states, shapes, and surface structure and composition, summarises Muinonen for the background of the success.
In Finland, the governmental responsibility for the risk assessment of near-Earth objects belongs to the National Land Survey, and in the near future the Space Situational Awareness Center, which is currently being established. Monitoring the risks posed by near-Earth objects is one of the key areas of responsibility for the new Space Situational Awareness Center, in addition to the possible risks posed by space weather, space debris, and satellite operations.
– The comprehensive expertise of astronomers at the University of Helsinki in asteroid research is a critical part of the expertise needed at the governmental level to assess the possible impact risks caused by the near-Earth objects for Finland similar to other countries, summarizes Senior Research Scientist and Academy Research Fellow Anne Virkki.

Top 8 Chess Strategies Every Beginner Must Learn to Win More Games
Chess is not just a game; it is intelligence and strategy. For beginners, understanding the basic techniques is the foundation to improve and succeed in many games. Once you get these basics right, you can transition into random moves and playing with purpose and accuracy.
In this blog we will discuss the top 8 chess techniques that every beginner should learn to improve their game Plus, see how KingCompiler, the first chess course, can guide you in making these techniques in the exact same way.
1. Control the center from the beginning The center of the board (squares d4, d5, e4, e5) is the most important area in chess. Controlling it gives your piece more strength and power.
How to do it:
Start by moving pawns to control the center (e.g., e4 or d4).
Rotate your knights and bishops to have a mid-field effect.
At KingCompiler, students learn the importance of central control through practical exercises and expert guidance.

Key tips:
Prioritize the development of his army and bishops.
Avoid moving the same piece repeatedly in the opening.
KingCompiler ensures that beginners understand the importance of progress and teaches effective ways to get pieces in play.
3. The King Puts Safety First (Castling) . Protecting your king is an important option. Leaving your king out can leave you vulnerable to previous attacks.
What you need to do:
Protect your king by the gates of the castle in the morning.
Avoid unnecessary pawn behavior with the king.
KingCompiler teaches beginners the importance of king defense and how to balance offense and defence.
4. Avoid moving the same piece repeatedly in the opening Repetition wastes time and gives your opponent a progression advantage.
Why it matters:
Any move should help create a stronger position.
Avoid “block-fitting” without a clear purpose.
KingCompiler’s class list emphasizes efficient block movement and proper programming.

5. Create a solid pawn system Your pawns are the backbone of your position. Weak pawn policies can lead to long-term losses.
Best Practices:
Avoid isolated, double, or backward pawns.
Target connected pawns helping each other.
KingCompiler trains beginners to avoid common pitfalls in order to build robust pawn systems.
6. Learn the basic checkmate system Checkmating an opponent is the main goal of chess. Beginners should focus on creating basic prototypes e.g.
Back-Rank Checkmate.
King and Rook Checkmate.
Checkmate in King and Queen.
In KingCompiler, students use this model until they create a second product.
7. Understand the relative value of each piece Each piece has a specific value (e.g. Pawns = 1, Knights/Bishops = 3, Rooks = 5, Queens = 9). Understanding this helps you make better decisions about change.
Key tips:
Avoid unnecessary changes unless they benefit you.
Always consider piece price and position.
KingCompiler provides guidance exercises to help players figure out when and why to swap pieces.

Character Bio: Amber
As seen on my OC Library (In Works)
Amber was six years old and in the midst of the fray when the capital city of Ariya was attacked by the combined forces of multiple daemon species and a select few of their own Hecathian people. Escaping with her family intact, one of the few to do so, did little to relieve her of the grief and trauma left by watching her home be destroyed. The screams from behind her as she ran with her mother scarred her soul, leaving her with haunting memories and nightmares.
As she grew older, and her father established the sanctuary of the Academy for their people, there was a moment of hope where she thought it was finally getting better. She threw herself into her studies and was highly dedicated to learning to defend not only herself but against the potential of another attack. As many older members of their small community were leaving the service, the younger generation stepped up earlier than their predecessors had, with Amber among them. Despite her young age, she rose through the ranks of the newly established observance defence systems quickly due to her diligence and skill. She took the leadership position of the second observance team at fifteen years old.
Her leadership was filled with ups and downs, as it was no easy thing to adapt to such responsibility at such a young age. For two and a half years, she solidified the bonds within her team, inviting both of her younger siblings under her wing in an attempt to protect them from the monster she knew her father had become. Meanwhile, for the majority of her time in that position, there had been periodic disappearances of members of the community. Chasing a suspicion, Amber began collecting evidence in an attempt to put an end to it. While it was unclear at the beginning, it was determined that these victims were indeed being targeted and killed for a reason that many couldn't identify.
In a move seemingly out of the blue, Amber stepped down from her position, instead signing on under Kesritae in the first observance team. Subsequently, she went on to reject her association with both her father and brother, thereby removing herself from her family. The scandal sent shockwaves through the Academy as their leader's daughter spoke out against him. This was quickly overshadowed, however, the body of a prominent war hero, and mother of one of Amber's closest friends, was found in her home. The discovery was swiftly followed by the realization that one of her former teammates had disappeared the same night.
Confirmed to be the work of the ongoing killer, the community was up in arms to find the perpetrator. The finger was quickly pointed at another in her old team and despite Amber's findings showing a different answer, her protests went ignored. Outraged and devastated by his trial and swift execution, Amber decided to dedicate her life to ensuring this wouldn't happen again and that the true perpetrator would be exposed and face justice. Being taken seriously was not a problem she anticipated, but the validity of her research and intentions were thrown into question by her father's supporters. Her concerns were shoved into the background, where she would continue her work, waiting for the moment when she has unquestionable proof to take down her greatest enemy.

Daily Wrap Up May 8-10, 2023
Under the cut:
A Ukrainian military unit said on Wednesday it had routed a Russian infantry brigade from frontline territory near Bakhmut, claiming to confirm an account by the head of Russia's Wagner private army that the Russian forces had fled. Later in the day, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, who heads Ukraine's ground forces, said Russian units in some parts of Bakhmut had retreated by up to 2 km (1.2 miles) as the result of counterattacks. He did not give details.
The Kremlin-backed authorities in the occupied Ukrainian city of Kamianka-Dniprovska in the southern Zaporizhzhia region are evacuating families and public sector workers further into Russian-held territory, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement.
Russian shelling has killed a woman in Kherson oblast’s Kakhovskyi district on the Dnipro river, the Ukrainian prosecutor general’s office reported on Wednesday.
The UK foreign secretary and US secretary of state have urged Russia not to use global hunger as a tool of war in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, as discussions continue about the resumption of the Black Sea grain deal.
The May 9 Victory Day parade in Moscow's Red Square highlighted the equipment and strategic communications challenges the Russian military has faced during its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, according to the U.K. Defense Ministry. Over 8,000 military personnel reportedly participated in the parade, but most were auxiliaries, paramilitary forces, and military academy cadets, the ministry wrote in its latest intelligence update. An old T-34 from a ceremonial unit was the only tank on this year's Victory Day parade, which is a substantial downsize from the usual number of vehicles shown at the event held annually to commemorate the Soviet Union's victory against Nazi Germany in 1945.
Wagner units have led a months-long Russian assault on the eastern city, but Ukrainian forces say the offensive is stalling.
Moscow has not commented on reports that its 72nd Separate Motor-rifle Brigade had abandoned positions on the southwestern outskirts of Bakhmut. Reuters was unable to independently confirm the situation on the ground.
A Russian brigade is typically formed of several thousand troops. Bakhmut is the primary target of Moscow's huge winter offensive and scene of the bloodiest ground combat in Europe since World War Two.
Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar, writing on Telegram, said pro-Kyiv units had not lost a single position in Bakhmut on Wednesday.
Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin, who has repeatedly accused Moscow's regular armed forces of failing to adequately support his men, said on Tuesday the Russian brigade had abandoned its positions.
"Our army is fleeing. The 72nd Brigade pissed away three square km this morning, where I had lost around 500 men," Prigozhin said.
'SITUATION REMAINS DIFFICULT' In a statement, Ukraine's Third Separate Assault Brigade said: "It's official. Prigozhin's report about the flight of Russia's 72nd Independent Motorized Rifle Brigade from near Bakhmut and the '500 corpses' of Russians left behind is true."
Ukraine's eastern military command said the Russian brigade had been heavily damaged, although it said Russia was still trying to capture the rest of the city.
"Unfortunately they have not destroyed the whole (Russian) brigade yet," Serhiy Cherevatyi, spokesperson for the eastern military command, said in televised comments.
"The situation (in Bakhmut) remains difficult because for the enemy, despite all the white noise Prigozhin is trying to create, it (Bakhmut) is (still) the main direction of attack," he said.
Early on Wednesday the Third Separate Assault Brigade, which was formed last year from the nationalist Azov Battalion, reposted a video of one of Azov's founders, Andriy Biletsky, who said his forces had "defeated" the Russian brigade.
"The attacks were implemented within a territory 3 km wide and 2.6 km deep, and this entire territory is completely liberated from the Russian occupying forces," he said.
Since last week, Prigozhin has repeatedly threatened to pull Wagner out of Bakhmut unless Russia's regular armed forces send more ammunition. In his latest remarks on Wednesday he said his troops were receiving only 10% of the shells they needed.
As well as clashing repeatedly with Russia's defence ministry, Prigozhin has also expressed concerns about a long-promised Ukrainian counter-offensive to recapture some of the territory that Russia occupied after the 2022 invasion.

The Kremlin-backed authorities in the occupied Ukrainian city of Kamianka-Dniprovska in the southern Zaporizhzhia region are evacuating families and public sector workers further into Russian-held territory, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement.
“On May 8, the Russian occupiers began to evacuate preschool and school-age children with their parents, as well as teachers and other public sector employees from the city of Kamianka-Dniprovska in Zaporizhzhia Oblast,” the statement read. “There were not many willing participants.”
Late Thursday, Yevgeniy Balitskiy, the acting governor of the occupied parts of the Zaporizhzhia region – who is backed by Russian President Vladimir Putin – announced his administration would evacuate people from places near the war’s southern front line.
Yesterday, Yurii Malashko, Ukraine’s governor of Zaporizhzhia, said in a television interview that he understood some Moscow-backed officials were leaving occupied towns, and offering to evacuate people with Russian passports, ahead of the anticipated Ukrainian counteroffensive.
“We have also heard that they take civilians, including children, to Berdiansk first of all. Then they go either to Crimea or towards the [occupied] Donetsk region,” Malashko said. Ivan Fedorov, the Ukraine-elected mayor of Melitopol — a city in Zaporizhzhia — told Ukrainian TV that it was not a “mass evacuation,” but rather “some hundreds evacuated for show.” He claimed that Russia was sending more forces to the southern front line and that, in Melitopol, troops had started mining administrative buildings, kindergartens and schools.
Fedorov advised people in the occupied areas to be prepared for the counteroffensive by finding shelter, charging power banks and stocking up on food and water.

The UK foreign secretary and US secretary of state have urged Russia not to use global hunger as a tool of war in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, as discussions continue about the resumption of the Black Sea grain deal.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Washington, James Cleverly and Antony Blinken spoke about the war, as well as relations with China and the recent evacuation of nationals in Sudan amid the country falling into civil war.
Speaking first, Blinken said: “We are urging Russia to extend and expand the Black Sea grain initiative. In recent days, Russia has once again returned to blocking ships from sailing to Ukrainian ports to pick up grain. A cynical action, that directly results in less food getting to global food markets and to human beings in Africa, in the Middle East and around the world who need that food.
“While we are grateful for the tireless efforts of [UN] general secretary Guterres, our colleagues in Turkey, working to break this impasse, the world shouldn’t need to remind Moscow every few weeks to stop using people’s hunger as a weapon in their war against Ukraine.”
The UK prime minister, Rishi Sunak, will visit the US in June, where he will meet Joe Biden in Washington. London will host the Ukraine rebuilding conference in the same month, in an attempt to examine how cities, towns and infrastructure will recover post-conflict.
Cleverly struck the same tone. After thanking Blinken for his remarks, including congratulations sent to King Charles III on his coronation, the foreign secretary said: “Just as we did with Sudan, we remain focused on the needs of some of the poorest people in the world. I echo your comments on the Black Sea grain initiative.
“It is completely wrong that Russia uses the hunger of some of the poorest people in the world to pursue leverage in this conflict. They should resign the Black Sea grain initiative and do so immediately, they should unlock the supply of food to go to those people around the world who need it most and it is perverse that they are using hunger in the developing world as leverage in their conflict in Ukraine.”

"The only personnel from deployable formations of regular forces were contingents of Railway Troops and military police."
An old T-34 from a ceremonial unit was the only tank on this year's Victory Day parade, which is a substantial downsize from the usual number of vehicles shown at the event held annually to commemorate the Soviet Union's victory against Nazi Germany in 1945.
"Despite heavy losses in Ukraine, Russia could have fielded more armored vehicles," reads the ministry's update. "The authorities likely refrained from doing so because they want to avoid domestic criticism about prioritizing parades over combat operations."
Earlier, six Russian regions, Russian-occupied Crimea, and 21 cities had canceled their parades due to security concerns. The traditional March of the Immortal Regiment, where families show photos of fallen veterans of the Second World War, and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's reception after the parade, were also canceled.
In 2022, large-scale parades were held in Moscow and other cities in Russia despite the full-scale war raging in Ukraine.

Russian soldiers are preventing employees of the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant from evacuating a nearby frontline town with their families, Ukraine's military said Wednesday.
"In Enerhodar, the Russian occupiers organized a so-called 'evacuation' for family members of Zaporizhzhia NPP employees — yet employees of the power plant are not allowed to leave the city," Ukraine's General Staff of the Armed Forces said in a statement. Russia-backed authorities have ordered the evacuation of thousands of civilians along the southern front as a Ukrainian counteroffensive looms.
Enerhodar, where most of the nuclear plant’s staff live, was among 18 settlements whose residents were evacuated over the weekend. The evacuees were moved to recreation centers and hotels in the southern towns of Berdiansk and Kyrylivka, while others were taken to Russia's Rostov region, Ukraine's military said.
Remember: The Zaporizhzhia plant is Europe’s largest nuclear power station and has been held by Russian forces since early in the invasion last year. It is mostly operated by a Ukrainian workforce.
The plant's position on the front lines means shelling in the surrounding towns and near the facility is common. The UN's nuclear watchdog again raised concerns earlier this week about safety at the plant, describing the situation as being "increasingly unpredictable."

Match Review: Manchester United 2-1 Brentford
Football, bloody hell.
Tumblr media
Since we're quoting Fergie, I'd like to pay my respects to the Ferguson family and give my condolences on the passing of Lady Cathy Ferguson. She was a remarkable woman and gave crucial love and support to a man who provided so much joy to Manchester United football club and its fans. May she rest in peace.
Tumblr media
How apt though that it was one of Ferguson's academy kids Scott 'McSauce' McTominay who came off the bench and rescued United from despair with not only the equalising goal but also the winner.
Tumblr media
Not just that, but the winning goal was assisted by Harry Maguire; an almost loathed figure amongst the fan base at present but one of our best players today. He had a very resolute game in defence and quietly got on with his job. Perhaps he was aided by the veterancy of Jonny Evans and that calm support and guidance. Perhaps he simply cannot play with Victor Lindelöf.
Tumblr media
We should roll back to the earlier parts of the game though, and what for 90 minutes was simply dire football. United seem to constantly suffer lapses in concentration, which meant we conceded a silly goal to Jensen in the 26th minute after Casemiro lost the ball and Lindelöf failed to clear properly. Onana could perhaps have done more to save it, but he is looking behind a crowded box of United and Brentford players, and should he not expect one of his seasoned defenders to be able to successfully get rid of a ball?
Both Casemiro and Lindelöf appear to be devoid of form, and Onana's not far behind. After the international break it will be interesting to see if other players force them out of the side. Starlet Kobbie Mainoo is close to a return, Hannibal Mejbri has impressed, and if a left back can return to fitness then Amrabat can stay in midfield as the anchor or pivot.
Tumblr media
United's play seemed to lack not only intelligence, but also energy. Are we unfit? Are we tired? What is going on? Because at this rate I'm more inclined to put our poor performances down to a lack of willing or desire, and simply put that isn't on at Manchester United. You fight for the badge or you sling your hook.
Tumblr media
Confidence is blatantly lacking though, and that's definitely impacting United's composure to retain possession and perform habitual passing patterns, whether triangle moves, give and go, one-touch retention... it's sloppy and uncoordinated and very frustrating as a fan.
For all United failed the eye test, the statistics show we were the better team which (Thomas) Frankly is embarrassing for Brentford. 64% possession to Manchester United, 21 shots, 8 on target, 7 corners... the intent was there but it's about the execution, and that comes from confidence and synergy.
Højlund looked poor today, for example, but he's still young and new and bedding in. This is why he was talked of as a second-fiddle for a star signing like a Harry Kane - he will take time.
Tumblr media
Erik Ten Hag is as culpable as the players for poor results, and many fans will say we got away with it today and decry the lack of standards from other fans for enjoying a 2-1 win. That was, after all, the first time United had trailed in the 90th minute of a Premier League game and then won it.
To the bitter fans I say go boil your head, because if you can't enjoy United winning then what's the point of you. We're not owed success. We're owed a desire for success - from players and coaches. We're owed a determination to do well. That's where we should rightly be criticising people. McTominay's heroics at the end of the game bagged us two goals in under 5 minutes. Now imagine if we play with that urgency earlier in the match. We could have snotted this lot and given them the sort of rodding that would boost any ego and make Gary Neville or Jamie Carragher think he had a chance at pulling Beyonce.
Tumblr media
I also believe that Erik is as deserving of praise when things go right as he is of criticism when it goes wrong. His choices to substitute Casemiro for Eriksen, Rashford for Garnacho, and Amrabat for McTominay proved to be excellent decisions. We know he has tactical intelligence, we saw it at Ajax. He's been on camera and broken his style down in interviews. The issue is players, man management, and in-game decision making. We don't know the whole picture, but fuck it, at least today he got the decisions right.
The man is under huge pressure at a club owned by people who only care for money. He will get some things wrong. He also has to let players try and prove their worth, which might cost him and United. How many fans would have been happy at McTominay coming on as a sub to try and win the game? Honestly? The answer is not many. Yet he bangs in two in Fergie Time, the Old Trafford crowd roars, and McSauce pulls off yet another textbook knee slide. Fuck yes.
Tumblr media
United are in a bad way. The players are playing like shit, and the manager has made some dumb mistakes, but we have to be fair and give them time to fix up. That doesn't mean they are exempt of criticism, but there's a balance to be had that isn't just TEN HAG OUT, SELL RASHFORD, TAKE AWAY BRUNO'S CAPTAINCY, BENCH ONANA. Honestly, go and watch United in the early days of Fergie, or even before that in the void after Sir Matt Busby. Understand that there will be bad times - yes, even more than a decade - and that it's on us as fans to be loyal and support the club.
What next though... I already jumped the gun and said that the Burnley win might be the turning point, and the Palace cup match seemed to prove that, but we're still faltering. We need a good international break now and to regroup with fresh ideas and renewed confidence ready to go on a run to Christmas. We have the talent, but do we have the mental fortitude and that drive to bounce back? Now's the time to show up.

Imagine standing in the uniform you’ve always dreamed of, saluting the national flag with pride—your journey doesn’t start at the academy; it starts right here, with the right coaching. If you’re planning to crack the Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam, then choosing the right coaching institute isn’t just a decision—it’s your first strategic move.
And if you’ve got your eyes set on Dehradun, congratulations—you’re already on the right path. Known for its military aura, disciplined lifestyle, and academic excellence, Dehradun is the place where defence dreams are nurtured and transformed into reality.
In this comprehensive guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about choosing the Best CDS Coaching in Dehradun, and why Dehradun Military Academy (DMA) could be the training ground that shapes your future.
Tumblr media
Why Dehradun Is the First Choice for CDS Aspirants
Dehradun isn’t just a city—it’s a mindset.
It’s home to the prestigious Indian Military Academy (IMA), National Hydrographic Office, and other defence establishments that inspire thousands of aspirants every year. The peaceful yet motivating environment makes it an ideal hub for CDS preparation.
What really sets Dehradun apart?
A strong defence-oriented culture

A competitive, focused peer group
Lush green surroundings that foster discipline and clarity
If you're serious about cracking the CDS exam, there's no better place to begin your journey than Dehradun.
What Makes a CDS Coaching Institute “The Best”?
Before you commit your time, energy, and resources to a coaching institute, ask yourself: What exactly makes a CDS coaching institute stand out from the rest?
1. Experienced Faculty
The backbone of any coaching institute is its faculty. The right teachers don’t just deliver lectures—they mentor, guide, and prepare you for real-world challenges.
At Dehradun Military Academy, classes are led by:
Retired defence personnel with years of service and experience

Look for a course that includes:
Weekly and monthly study plans
Complete syllabus coverage with revision cycles
Targeted mock tests and performance analysis
Integrated SSB interview preparation

The SSB interview is where many candidates fall short. It tests your personality, confidence, and leadership.

Psychological tests (WAT, TAT, SRT)
Group discussions & public speaking
GTO tasks & obstacle courses
Interview techniques & personality development

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Guides Defence Science Research Work
Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) --Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, guided the defence science research work of the Unmanned Aeronautical Technology Complex and the detective electronic warfare research group on March 25-26.
Accompanying him were Pak Jong Chon and Jo Chun Ryong, secretaries of the WPK Central Committee, Ri Pyong Chol, general advisor for the munitions policy of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Yong Hwan, president of the Academy of Defence Sciences, and other senior officials of the WPK Central Committee and defence science research institutes.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un learned about various kinds of reconnaissance and suicide attack drones, newly developed and being produced by an institute and enterprises under the Unmanned Aeronautical Technology Complex, and oversaw their performance test.
The test confirmed the innovative performance of a new-type strategic reconnaissance drone with the detective ability to track and monitor different strategic targets and enemy troops’ activities in the land and sea. And it fully demonstrated the striking capability of suicide drones to be used for various tactical attack missions.
Kim Jong Un made an important assessment of the military effectiveness and strategic value of the strategic reconnaissance drone with improving performance and of the suicide attack drones to which new artificial intelligence was applied.
Expressing his active support for the new plans of the complex, he agreed on its proposal for expanding the production capacity.
Saying that the field of unmanned equipment and artificial intelligence should be top-prioritized and developed in modernizing the armed forces, he stressed that it is important to work out a correct long-term national plan for promoting the rapid development of the work to use intelligent drones and perseveringly and dynamically propel it as a medium- and long-term project, in keeping with the trend of modern warfare in which the competition for using intelligent drones as a major means of military power is being accelerated and the range of their use is steadily expanding in military activities.
As already stated, a lot of objective changes that come with the rapid sci-tech development call for updating a large part of our military theory, practice and education, he said, adding that it is an important task facing our Party at present to adopt a correct, appropriate line and solution.
Saying that the WPK has advanced a clear line for perfectly combining unmanned weapon and equipment systems with operational plans and fundamentals of battle, regarding it as one of the important components of the armed forces modernization programme to put weapons and equipment on an unmanned basis, he reiterated the scientific and practical orientation and ways for accelerating the continuous qualitative and quantitative and technical transformation in the development and production of unmanned weapons and equipment and for putting operational ability on a highly-developed basis.
He learned about the performances of reconnaissance and intelligence gathering means and electronic jamming and attack systems newly developed by the detective electronic warfare research group and its long-term plan.
He said that our special means with the application of up-to-date technology would play a big role in monitoring potential threats and collecting vital intelligence and that they would give full play to their might in enhancing our army’s capability of conducting various kinds of intelligence-gathering operations and neutralizing the enemy’s combat means of various missions.
Expressing great satisfaction over the fact that new electronic jamming and attack weapon systems have been developed and gone into production, he spoke highly of the fact that the stages of the WPK’s line of modernizing the army are being qualitatively attained thanks to the clear brains of our younger-generation defence science research group.
Saying that the Unmanned Aeronautical Technology Complex and the detective electronic warfare research group have a very important role to play in coping with the development in modern warfare of today characterized by confrontation between intelligent hi-tech weapon systems, he gave an important task related to the immediate duty and the long-term goals to be attained by this sector.
