Who can do more push ups? Taka or Akane?
Tumblr media
Taka may be shredded under that uniform, but he hasn't got anything on me! You understand?!
Tumblr media
There was a charity fundraiser back at Hope's Peak near the start of my first year and at that time Akane, myself, and a few others ended up doing circuits as part of the fundraiser events.
Tumblr media
Needless to say, the Ultimate Gymnast outlasted all of us. I didn't yet know Akane's title so I was surprised by her performance, but it made sense once I learned she was an athlete.

🥀 - are you more of a pessimist or an optimist? or would you consider yourself a realist? why?
🪷 - would you consider yourself to be organized? disorganized? does being in disorganized spaces overwhelm you?
(I’m going to go with Taka since a f/o wasn’t specified)
🥀: I would consider myself both a realist and an optimist. It’s best to keep a level-head, but also to try and keep other’s spirits high as well!
🪷: Organized! It’s important to keep your personal space clean and to make sure that each item is in a location that can easily be recalled! And yes, admittedly it does stress me out to see a disorganized room.

hiii u think u could write a lil thing where the reader does their eye makeup to match gaaras eyes please and tyyy :33 (btw feel free to add anyone else if you’d like 💕)
A/n: okay, anon, here ya go 🤭
Warnings/content: nothing :)
Characters: Gaara and Sasuke
A/n: Since sasuke doesn’t have any face “markings” his will be skin care :) also these won’t be too long….
Tumblr media
Gaara
❀ You were always absolutely in love with Gaara’s eyes, even the black rings around them. You know he couldn’t control it but it was cute anyway. ❀
❀ One day you decided to try and replicate his eyes so you sat down in front of your mirror and attempted, keyword attempted to make your eye liner look like his. ❀
❀ It came out interesting looking and while you were sitting in front of your mirror Gaara came in. “Darling….what are you doing?” You were horrified and immediately tried to wipe it away. ❀
❀ You’re wiping only smudged it and made you look like a disheveled raccoon, you were embarrassed and refused to look at him for a bit. ❀
❀ “Hey, let me see….” He said quietly, grabbing your chin gently forcing you to look at him. He gently wiped away the smudged eye liner and redid in, making it look exactly like his own eyes. ❀
❀ “See? Much better…” he loved that you tried to copy his eyes, he felt flattered that his lover wanted to kinda look like him. ❀
Tumblr media
Sasuke Uchiha
❀ You never took your boyfriend as the type to participate in skin care, but when you walked in on him wearing one of those head band things and gently scrubbing his face with “sensitive skin cleanser” you just had to know more. ❀
❀ Your hands were immediately all over his face, now that’s how he got his skin so soft….he was embarrassed, he never thought his partner would find out about his secret hobby. ❀
❀ But when you told him you wanted to join him, he was kinda surprised you didn’t tease him for doing something considered traditionally feminine. But you were meet with a “Tell anyone and you’re toast” did he mean it? Maybe, but you might just tease him about this from now on. ❀
Tumblr media
Thank you for reading! I love you! I’m becoming more consistent with posting :) sorry for this being so short, but thanks for the request.

just found you and you're pretty neat! do you think that Taka and Mufasa had reasonable character arcs in the prequel that would lead them to become the lions we know and love in the original movie? It had its moments but I found it a tad lacking
also, do you have any friends/blogs like yours that you'd reccommend?
Hi! I can't answer this questions with "yes" or "no" because they couldn't pick a character arc for either Taka or Mufasa.
With Taka they halfheartedly start all these different arcs:
Needs to learn not to have everything his own way
Needs to learn what a real king is like because his dad is a bad example
Needs to learn bravery, or self-sacrifice
There's problems with these. Because 1) the Scar we see would never learn any of these lessons, but Taka does appear to learn at least how to be brave. 2) Each of these arcs are abandoned (except for one lazily-spun moment in the climax about bravery) the moment Taka meets Sarabi.
I think the one thing they almost landed really well was Taka's affinity for deception. Scar is a super-deceptive, manipulative character. He'll say anything to get what he wants, and that's what leads to the hyenas mauling him to death.
In Mufasa, one of the earliest decisions little cubby Taka makes is to pretend to lose the race with Mufasa, so that he can have a brother. His mom praises that decision, and Taka gets what he wants out of it. Awesome storytelling moment. It allows Taka to be likeable, without going against the core of his character flaws.
Deception-For-His-Own-Gain comes back over and over.
Taka pretends to go along with Mufasa's last-stand plan at the waterfall, just long enough to lock his forelegs around his brother and throw them both bodily over the falls, because he doesn't want to fight but there's no other way to get Mufasa to jump.
Taka pretends to notice Sarabi's scent so he can connect with her—and it was his own idea to get that information from Mufasa, knowing he couldn't come up with it himself.
Taka betrays Mufasa to Kiros to get back at his brother for "stealing" everybody's admiration, and he pretends to still be on his brother's side so convincingly that nobody, not even Rafiki, notices. (Although we're not shown that. We're just told, in a travel-montage. 🙄)
There are two issues with the way they do deception-for-gain thing though. 1) Mufasa is apparently the one teaching Taka how helpful deception can be, at least twice. He lies and claims Taka is just a stray to try and save his life from Kiros; he also lies and claims Taka was the one who saved Sarabi's life to boost his credit in her eyes. It's not super awesome for Mufasa to be the lying one in these scenarios, ever. Taka should be coming up with these lies himself as often as possible—but I get that it would've crippled his likeability if he'd lied instead of Mufasa in those two examples, so that's okay.
But 2) There's a moment where Obasi tells Taka to lie about not saving his mother. And Taka specifically protests, "that's deceitful!" And then his father says something profound like "deception is the currency of kings," I can't remember exactly how he phrases it. And you can go, "oh, that's where Taka learned to lie." But no, he already lied, before that moment, when he let Mufasa win the race. So his character didn't need his dad to teach him that. And it weakens the consistency of him, as a character, to have the nobility that recognizes and dislikes deception...but then he overcomes that nobility? That weakens the strength of his personality and consistency of his character. If he starts out getting what he wants through deception, he shouldn't later demonstrate a distaste for deception that he needs to be talked out of.
Mufasa has some of the same issues, but I think they were much more consistent and stronger with his characterization.
There's at least one big flaw, though. The Mufasa we meet in The Lion King has inherited good kingly traits from the kings who came before him. That's very strongly implied about his character. One of the first things he says to Simba is cyclical: this idea that they're part of a long line of kings and one day his time will end and Simba's will begin, adding to the chain. Then there's obviously his lesson about the Great Kings of the Past, and how his own father is the one who passed that down.
So Mufasa isn't supposed to be disconnected from a lineage of great kings. He's not supposed to be "a nobody who became great." He's supposed to be the faithful torch-carrier of a long line of noble values, an upholder of a timeless responsibility, trying to pass that on to his son.
So it was already a pretty dumb choice to make him, functionally, a peasant orphan. I think making him a peasant actually would've been fine, but his parents should've been teaching him, in some way, what a great King is like, anyway. For some reason. But they don't. They teach him about a magical dream land, instead.
Other arcs they start with Mufasa, but contradict or fumble as the movie goes on:
Needs to learn bravery (or self-confidence; that's more of what the movie leans toward)
Needs to learn to have faith in more than what he sees
Needs to learn to take responsibility for what he can do
I like the third one, because it echoes Simba in the original movie. I like the first one, because, like the third one, it implies that there is a "Real Identity" inside of you that you need to embrace instead of stubbornly insisting you know better—and that, too, is like the original Lion King. I definitely love the second arc, because it's the whole core of why that lesson, "whenever you feel alone," from the original, is important. It was important for Simba, it needs to be important for Mufasa.
But they just sort of lazily do all these things. It's not clear that Mufasa struggles with self-confidence because that trait is so inconsistent. Sure, he struggles to jump to his mom in the beginning of the movie—he thinks he's not strong enough to make the leap—but he does not struggle with self-confidence when it's time to save Eshe from big bad lions. He rushes right in. You could say that's his Real Self pushing through the insecurity. But the counter-argument to that would be, "okay, then when he was a cub, why was he so self-confident about winning a place in the Pride when Obasi is threatening him?" He struggles with self-confidence when it comes to Sarabi. But then does not struggle with it when he rallies other animals to the cause. Then again, he struggles with his own worthiness the very moment they declare him their king.
I think you could stretch, and say, "Mufasa's confidence only makes an appearance when he has to fight for something bigger than himself. Being King was about his own worthiness, so he got insecure. But rallying the animals was more about how he could help them, so he didn't think about his insecurities in that moment." But I still think they could've made that much clearer.
The "Faith in more than what he sees" arc, he never really struggled with. He learns it from his parents when he imagines Milele, instead of being able to see it. Then he uses it to imagine what other animals are like instead of focusing on his own experience or just lions. Then he uses it practically when it's time to learn to hunt. Then it helps him observe things nobody else can see, like prey in the snow or how close their enemies are. Then he uses it to trust that Milele is out there somewhere and his dreams are more than dreams, thanks to Rafiki. Then he uses it to notice a rock that kills the bad guy.
The thing is, as great as that is, it just wasn't sharp and clear enough in the movie. It's a very strong characterization, but there's not enough tight focus on it. There aren't any scenes where Mufasa is believably struggling with believing that Milele is out there. There aren't any scenes where he decides to go in a different direction because he just doesn't trust his dreams. There aren't any scenes where the lions with him make a point of ridiculing him for trusting the empathy he feels but can't see in other animals.
There's just a few halfhearted stabs at all those potential scenes, but they're too fast and feel like they come out of nowhere. Also, Mufasa's never shown to be believably fighting faith. He just mumbles about his doubts in like two scenes, but all his actions are immediately faith-based and rewarded.
He also doesn't struggle with taking responsibility. He has one throwaway line to Eshe which nobody, including the audience and Eshe herself, is convinced by: something like "maybe I like being a stray, I don't envy Taka the responsibility of being King." But he takes responsibility immediately any time the opportunity comes up. No hesitation.
Thanks for the question!
Edit: I don't follow many other blogs, and the ones I do don't post analyses-only. But @doverstar is my sister and does great posts about lots of things, and so does @sunkissedliterarylightofchrist

Heh….
I’m not busy….
😼
Casually makes something happen…..
[there was a black portal ripped open right in front of (Taka’s current location), the sound of booming tears and trickling with faint whispers and flickering. Multiple eyes opened up along the rim, white jagged spirals spawning and twirling out in a large opening as the portal gaped wider.]
[from there, the sound of grunting and rustling could be heard as a large black to white tipped hand/paw reached out and took step onto the ground with a soft thump. With it, followed the head that belongs to it.]
-
[Mokomokuren stepped the rest of the way through once she assessed it to be at the very least safe enough, from what she could tell at first. Cautiously, she allowed the portal to close behind her and she perked her ears up, looking around as if looking for something . . . ]
Taka was talking with Flicker when Momo appeared. Take hadn’t noticed the new presence despite his snakes nipping at his rays.
He had his audials all the way down to where he was basically deaf, mostly because he didn’t want to hear Flicker’s excuses for why it was working for two days straight.
Flicker on the other hand heard the booming sound and saw with partially dark vision the creature that stepped out of the portal.
They grabbed the shorter animatronic and pulled him into its chest. Taka hissed before adjusting his audials and hearing the soft paw steps of Momo coming out of the portal.
Flicker was the first to speak, but as they did so negative star power built up into a ball in its hands in warning.
Step back. Now.
Taka pushed at Flicker’s chest to try to get out of it’s hold but he only succeeded in getting thin lines of dark star power twirling around him, forcing him to stay still in Flicker’s hold.
NEXUS WHAT-
He was very clearly bristling in anger before even his snake turned against him with hisses and bites at his rays.

Between Taka and Mondo who's stolen the most clothes from the other? Also any specific movies or tv shows you think they'd watch together?
i mean, if we’re talking canonically, then-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(but also my answer is mondo because taka’s clothes make his muscles look bigger because they fit tighter on him. taka is annoyed because it stretches his clothes.)
and movies and tv shows???? hmmmmmm…
thing is taka is so hard to pin down on what media he likes because he canonically doesn’t care enough about that kind of stuff to have favorites. i think mondo shows taka whatever he likes or whatever he thinks taka will like to get him into that stuff. i could literally say anything. the possibilities are endless thanks to taka. i don’t know… movie musicals. they watch movies musicals together. mondo secretly likes them and it took taka a while to get behind them (i just feel like he’d be the type to not have the suspend his disbelief enough to get behind the breaking into song thing)

About the fanon Ishimondo thing you were talking about, I feel obligated to talk about it because I also HATE IT SO MUCH
I feel like there's a lot to unfold here about how problematic and mischaractezing fanon Ishimondo is, like Taka being kinda autistic coded and people infatilizing him to no end acting like he doesn't know about anything and how he is such an "innocent beam" sounds kinda ableist to me? That's the same guy that joked around Makoto about a dead corpse in his bathroom, told him AND Mondo to get naked, and also canonically called Monokuma a son of a bitch??? He is NOT innocent 😭 he probably only keeps that stuff to himself. Plus I also feel like Taka being treated as so feminine is so.... trying to make them fit into heteronormative roles, dammit Mondo and Taka are both MEN!! Just because Taka is like. centimeters (I don't know about inches and I refuse to learn it) smaller than Mondo people make him super feminine????? HELLO????
And about Mondo..... You're so real for saying that it takes away from Mondo's character, Mondo is like that character that you look and immediately assume things about him because he looks like the typical bravo man character, but only looking at him that way is wrong, because he is NOT like that, Mondo struggles so much with his self esteem, he is an anxious insecure mess and he hides that side from others using his anger and what he thinks would make him manlier. Looking at Mondo as just the strong man character is like failing to look at what he truly is, AND THAT'S WHY FANON ISHIMONDO GETS HIM SO WRONG!!! BECAUSE PEOPLE FAIL TO LOOK AT WHAT'S HIDDEN BEHIND HIS MANLY PERSONA. No one can look at me and say that the same man who got rejected 10 times because he shouts when he gets nervous is a fucking playboy who dates different people every single day. MONDO IS A LOSER, he definitely doesn't get bitches, that's a pathetic loser bottom and no one can convince me otherwise
In this household we hate fanon Ishimondo, we should actually gather everyone who thinks the same way and make our own content because I am TIRED
MOOT!! YOU ARE SO REAL FOR EVERYTHING YOU SAID
i can’t believe i didn’t touch on how it’s lowkey ableist to make taka (one of like 7 or 8 autistic coded characters in this god forsaken dogshit franchise) just an “uwu soft submissive baby 🥺” like HOLY FUCK this guy literally says to makoto “omg i’m so sorry your girlfriend died anyway RIP OFF YOUR CLOTHES AND SHOW ME YOUR C*CK SO WE CAN BOND LIKE MEN 💪💪💪” saying taka is just an innocent bean who doesn’t know anything about sex and needs his big strong boyfriend to teach him everything is just?? wRONG?? listen if taka is a model student and gets top grades in every subject that INCLUDES sex ed (please laugh i’m hilarious)
and mondo… his WHOLE STORY IS ABOUT HIM KEEPING UP A FALSE PERSONA OF BEING MACHO AND STRONG TO MASK HIS INSECURITIES BECAUSE OF HIS TRAUMA!!!!! mondo what did they DO TO YOU 😭😭 he is literally one of the most sopping wet cat pathetic characters in not just thh but the whole fucking franchise. an. and you’re making him the stupid playboy. not to rant about leon but it’s a similar problem with him where in a sense, if you make them just dumb playboys who just want to fuck bitches or whatever you’re. erasing their trauma. mondo’s self esteem is so awful, how are you gonna actually fucking say “well since he puts up a mask of being confident, he must actually be confident!” media literacy isn’t even dead you’ve cremated it doused it in gasoline and lit it on fire at this point. just making him yell occasionally because he’s nervous does not equal him being a genuine nervous wreck. like mondo buddy i get you and i think that’s why it makes me so so angry to see people literally make a brand new character so they can write their hot yaoi fanfic 😍🥰 i know this is a serious conversation with serious undertones about mischaracterization of two fan favourites but MONDO IS NOT A TOP!! HE IS A BOTTOM!! HE IS A PATHETIC LOSER BOTTOM WHO SHOULD BE GETTING FUCKED IN THE ASS!!!!!!!!!
and like i don’t wanna touch on what i put at the bottom of my huge rant but… cmon. i have such a huge problem with how taka is characterized especially as someone who’s. yeah. you can still write that but completely ignoring it just so you can write more hot yaoi sex is. come on. fuck off
moot you’re very correct i don’t trust anyone outside of like tumblr and a couple other people on other platforms with these two. fuck fanon ishimondo all my homies hate fanon ishimondo

Kiyotaka as the Ultimate Ballerina? HAVE YOU SEEN HIS POSTURE-
NO BC YOU'RE SO RIGHT ON THIS ONE ANON
When Taka first saw ballet and understood how much effort and work it took to achieving something great from it, he knew that was what he wanted to dedicate his life to.
Even though there was slightly less competition that for female ballerinas, Taka still worked just as hard as any of them in order to maintain his position as one of the best.
More than anything, ballet represented a kind of discipline to him. Not in the way that it was generally viewed, but the kind of discipline that kept him on a rigid schedule in other areas of his life.
Despite being hyper aware of how short of a lifespan he could generally have as a ballerina, Taka set out to try to lengthen his career for as long as he could get it.
Some of his classmates were surprised to find out he was a ballerina, but he was proud of that talent and never sought to hide it. After all, he didn’t put in years of his life for nothing!

Will you be watching the Mufasa movie when it comes out? I personally don’t think I can handle it. They already demolished Lion King in their Live Action version so I don’t trust them to do right with this one.
I think I might just for one reason: they added more facial expression to the animation.
If I had to expand on that and say “I’ll go for two reasons,” it would be “this is a new story, not a remake.” There are different dangers to adding-on-to an established story, and I prefer those kinds of dangers to the ones that come when you’re trying to re-tell something that’s already been perfectly told.
I’ve said in other posts before, they changed The Lion King’s Main Point from: “Remember who you are: a King takes responsibility for the care of others.” to:
“I have self-worth.”
Tumblr media
Which, you may notice, is pretty contradictory. It’s another one of those “let’s capitalize on a franchise everybody already buys into by re-telling it—and while we’re there, retelling it, let’s completely take back the message that the original had, and give it a completely new message based on whatever the current culture thinks is ‘correct.’”
So, selflessness out. Self-obsession in. Responsibility out. Self-validation in. Self, self, self.
Anyway.
That’s the danger of remakes. They use a “retelling” opportunity to “remake” everything that made the original good. And by remake, I mean, erase and make-worse. I digress.
This new movie won’t have those same sets of dangers. They can’t exactly ruin the original origins of Mufasa, the character, in the same way the ruined Simba—because there’s never been a really canon story about Mufasa and his brother.
(What I mean by that is, the original The Lion King film did not spell out Mufasa and Scar’s relationship or backstory in great detail within that film. The printed media and fan theories and even The Lion Guard versions of events, which came later, I don’t count, when it comes to evaluating this new movie.)
But, I will say this. It looks like, from the trailers, Mufasa and Taka aren’t blood-related. That raises my eyebrows. Why are they doing that? The fact that Scar is Mufasa’s brother in the original makes his betrayal and motivation for killing him and trying to kill Simba much more impactful. Why take that away? Also, it makes it look like Taka was supposed to inherit some sort of leadership role, and maybe choosing to adopt Mufasa winds up putting events in motion that rob him of what was otherwise his rightful rule. So that sort of further justifies Scar’s bitterness later on.
All of that is dumb. You should not make a prequel that weakens every story that comes after it. See Star Wars.
I’ve also said: Mufasa, as a character is the ideal Strong, Selfless Father/King. And he specifically states that he got his ideals from his Father, and clings to them because of a heritage, something Outside of Himself. He’s not special. He’s not the Chosen One. He’s one in a long line of good, strong men (Lion, whatever) who pass down valuing others as more important than themselves. He submits and obeys those ideals. He is the opposite of “getting my way all the time.”
Do you see why it’s important that Mufasa did not come up with those values himself? He has to get them from an authority figure who came before him. He has to be submitting to someone—even though he’s a King.
They have a high chance of ruining that.
Because it’s not very popular right now for the Western Culture to say “give your life up for others! Sacrifice your interests for the big picture! Submit yourself to someone else’s authority and wise advice, whether you feel like it or not!” But the powerful truth is, that is what Mufasa is, as a character.
I already outlined how in this post.
So this new movie has new dangers. I might go to see how it handles them. Because if they could listen to people enough to make the lions’ faces move more animatedly, maybe they have stopped and thought about how to make a good story that fits in with the original Lion King’s values. Maybe it’ll be a fix-it for the 2019 movie.
Not likely. But I’m going in with an open mind, even if I watch the trailers with skepticism. So we’ll see!
