Goh's Pokémon really have it made, don't they? Never have to worry about food, the pleasant environment they live in is climate controlled and protected from the elements, plenty of other species to play with... Goh has given them such a good home (with a little help from the professor, of course... but hey, I'm sure having all these Pokémon around is great for his career, so he's getting something out of it too!😆)!

It may always be cloudy in the Galar region, but it doesn't matter to Ash and Goh. These two boys are each other's sunshine. 💕

We all know what Goh is looking at, but Ash? He's. Not. Even. Looking. At. The. Rotomphone. Ash, you're in the Galar region to study Tairetsu, not Goh! Focus!! 😂😍

Yeah, Goh sometimes goes on catching sprees, but episodes like this one highlight and reinforce that his heart is every bit as big as Ash's when it comes to caring about and helping Pokémon in need. He really is learning more about Pokémon as he's catching them. It's good character growth for him and it helps bring him closer to his goal of catching Mew. It's a very meaningful goal too because it's molding Goh into a better person as he pursues it; he's becoming more confident, more independent, and his skills in both understanding Pokémon and battling with them have deepened.

They say it's more about the journey than the destination and I think that very much applies to Goh.

I've watched Pokémon since the Indigo Saga and episodes where Goh spends time helping/bonding with a Pokémon are a lot more interesting than battling a wild Pokémon until it faints and capturing it that way. Goh doesn't do this with every Pokémon he catches and that's ok; sometimes he just chucks a Poké Ball at it (Pokemon Go is a big part of the franchise after all, so it's only fair it gets represented somehow) and occasionally he's battled it and caught it that way. I like the variety. I like that there's more than one way to catch a Pokémon. Ash didn't always catch his Pokémon the exact same way, so why should Goh be held to a different standard?

Also, as much as I enjoy a good Pokémon battle (XY/XYZ really did raise the bar so much so nothing before/after it really compares - but that saga of the anime also reportedly cost a lot more money to produce), I also enjoy Pokémon Journeys' approach of where there's more direct character interaction with the Pokémon and the focus is on building a bridge of trust and friendship. Honestly, I think there's room for all kinds of storytelling in Pokémon; I'm personally fine with the difference in approach/style in how the sagas are handled. That's not to say Pokémon Journeys is perfect... this saga has a number of weaknesses, but for me its shortcomings aren't enough to ruin my enjoyment.

Summary

Satoshi and Go have gone to the Galar region in order to research Tairetsu. There they find a group of Tairetsu that's completely out of sync. It turns out the Tairetsu accidentally got separated, so Go goes to help the brass, the leader, while Satoshi helps the other troopers. It appears the brass is depressed because of its inability to command the troopers well.. so with no leader around, Pikachu makes a surprising decision..?!

overall impression... hmm. same as kai=kai, nothing stood out to me in particular, if you throw them all into a playlist i couldn't tell which song belongs to what album or most of them apart, tbh. both previous solo albums had outstanding acts to me (wisiwi, tetsugiri uta, adios, qualia and avatar alone in hologram, and zalinero, genshou no hana, hananokage, and shinnyuusha from genshou no hana) but in this one while most are good they all just feel brand hirasawa sound hirasawa with nothing catching my attention in particular. not thrilling. then again i am exhausted out of my mind so maybe that's why... i'll give it another couple listens on a fresh mind
