Weird dream entry: August 16, 2023

Background: Yesterday, my officemate had cheeseroll from Bag of Beans in Tagayatay and I was slightly reminded of our family trips to Tagytay

Dream: The dream began with me drinking cold coffee. As I was getting off the front seat of the car (seeing 2 empty coffee cups on its floor), I was complaining that I wasn't even done with my coffee and yet we were to dine again. Then the whole scene froze…

Someone telepathically told me, "But did you even purchase a single one of those three cups? See! You were given those for free so you shouldn't be complaining and instead you should have been thankful. You've been taking things for granted without even realizing it."

Then it unfroze. We got off the car. As we got there, it rained so bad the passage from the reception area to the main dining area got flooded so we had to climb by the boulders by the side. I was so tired half way that when a man in ragged shirt, who notably looked suspicious, volunteered to hold my ipad for me. I was about to give it to him but again the scene froze.

Someone telepathically told me "Look at you, you are so focused on yourself that you didn't even recognized the presence of everyone before and after you. You're selfishness and desperation is your weakness. Just look by your right. There's an open window where staffs are assisting those ahead of you and they were smiling with gratitude as they moved on. Look right further. You now realize that the end is just a leap away and you're family who are already seated by the corner."

Then, it unfroze again. I approached my family complaining of how much of a bad idea it was. Then, the scene froze again..

Someone telepathically told me "See! Again, you didn't realize that they have gone thorugh the same thing you did. In fact, your hardship was even cut into half because they got the table for you. The ego is tricky. Not being money or title motivated doesn't make you selfless. In fact, you use it as an excuse. You resist, you complain and waste energy. Open your heart, be humble, be present, serve fully and learn from everything around you.

Then I woke up acknowledging the truth… while I am an honest public servant, there is I also have selfishness and laziness which is why I keep avoiding going for higher positions with responsibility, leadership and management.

#FACTElections2019: Know Thy Candidates (Francis Tolentino)

TOL, a new monicker who is known by many as the Mayor of the famous vacation spot and Chairman of MMDA. But, who is the person behind this monicker?

PROFILE Francis Tolentino, a Bicolano, was born on January 3, 1960 (almost Senior Citizen) in Guinobatan, Albay. His brother Abraham ‘Bambol’ is the successor after his 9-year tenure as Mayor of Tagaytay City. His parents were Isaac and Elena Tolentino. His father passed away in 2016 thus he was the Mayor of Tagytay during the late 80′s and early 90′s. He went to Elementary in his hometown Tagaytay, and eventually to Pasay City and Mandaluyong City. He finished High School in the All Boys Lourdes School of Mandaluyong. He even attended Far East Military Academy for a year. He finished college in Ateneo De Manila University with 2 of his degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 1980, and Bachelor of Laws through the Ateneo Law School in 1984.

He was migrated to London, United Kingdom for his education commitments that earned his Master of Laws in the University of London with his specialization in Public International Law. Back at home, he earned a Master of National Security Administration at the National Defense College of the Philippines, and later on, he went to New York and earned his Graduate Diploma in Public Administration by the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, New York University.

In his military service, he is a Philippine Army Reservist with a rank of Colonel which later became Brigadier General. He studied at the Military College of South Carolina in USA, and graduated from the Command & General Staff College, National Defense College of the Philippines.

His political career began in 1986 when he was appointed by President Corazon Aquino as the OIC-Mayor of Tagaytay (then a Municipality in Cavite) which later handed over to his father. He was the Mayor of Tagaytay for 3 terms that he ran unopposed in the 3 elections (1995, 1998, and 2001). Under his administration, he created the Tagaytay Office of Public Safety which is his requsite work prior to his top post in MMDA. He also initialized the Character First program that became popular to residents and tourists.

After his 6-year break, he was appointed by President Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III as Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman, thus he was the first appointee from a non-Metro Manila resident to do so. In 2013, he launched the Integrated Bus Terminal, and the Outdoor Advertising Regulation teaming up with various ad agencies and groups. In 2014, he relaunched the Pasig River Ferry System to ease traffic congestion. He is also the brains behind the revitalization effort of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) by making some improvements in the Christmas Movie Extravanagza held from December 25 to January 6 each year.

In 2016, he ran for Senator but he was lost via a large margin by its 12th winning Senator Leila De Lima as he placed 13th.

In 2017, he was then appointed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte as Presidential Adviser on Political Affairs.

He also hosted a radio program ‘Tolentino On Line’ via DWIZ 882 with Wheng Hidalgo as his co-host.

PERSONAL VIEW I voted for him in 2016, but after all, this guy must be a big help to the people. He even led an intensive mercenary operations when calamities came in. he must live and enjoy a life of a Public Servant. This guy will win for the people by the people.

If you think Francis Tolentino is worthy to be in the Senate, vote for him on May 13. His number on your ballot is 60, and he belongs to Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP Laban).

Binubuo ng taon ko ang pagdayo at pagtuklas ng mga lugar, kultura, at paniniwala kasama ang aral sa lugar na aking pinupuntahan. Kasama na rin ata talaga ito sa buhay ng tao. Buwan ng hulyo araw ng 27 taong 2018 ay napagpasyahan naming magkakaibigan na makilahok sa retreat na gagawin ng simbahan sa lugar ng tagaytay.

 Isa sa nagpakulay ng aking taon ang karanasang napulot ko sa pagdayo ko sa st. scholastica’s center of spirituality. Isa itong retreat house na matatagpuan sa tagytay. Lulan ng isang jeepney nagtungo kaming magkakaibigan upang saksihan ang lugar na ito. Mula sa aming bayan inaabot ng isang oras ang biyahe,at dahil malamig sa tagaytay at preko ang hangin hindi nakakatamad ang pagbiyahe dito. Pag dating sa lugar kasama ang aking kaibigan nilibot naming ang lugar. Ito ay mayroong dalawang malaking building at isang simbahan sa gitna.

 Ako’y namangha sa ganda at katahimikan ng lugar. Mainam sa mga taong naghahanda sa kanilang buhay pagpapari at pagmamadre.Ang gusali, mga pader maging mga painting sa ding ding ay talaga naman mapapamangha kung sino ang pupunta dito. Napakaraming matatayog na puno sa lugar, mga bagay banal, at bilang nangangapa sa lugar akin ng pinuntahan ang isang kuweba kung saan ay may istuwatwa dito ng birheng maria na aking binulungan ng aking dasal na pinaniniwalaang tumutugon sa mga dasal. 

  Napakaraming aktibidad sa loob na aking naranasan. Ito rin ang lugar na kung saan maaari kang magmuni muni  sa kung ano na ang nangyayare sa buhay mo.  Kasama na sa aking karanasan ang takutan na ginawa naing magkakaibigan sa loob ng aming kuwarto. naging masaya ang aming pagdalaw dito at makikita din ang galak sa taong mamuno saamin habang kami ay nasa loob.

Napakasuwerte ko at napasok ko ang ganitong lugar kaya’t ikaw na malapit lamang dito at parte na rin ng pilipinbas puntahan na ang tahimik na lugar ng st. scholastica’s center of spirituality sa tagaytay.
