I had a more thorough response written weeks ago when I first got this ask, but fsr it was deleted n' then my phone broke while at a concert so I haven't been as active. Sorry ya'll.

I honestly have too many favorites to count, but I certainly have some I admire n' adore more than others; but I believe in my heart n' soul that all these little furry friends are created equal in some way or another.

Shepherds, huskies, danes, boxers, spaniels, St. Bernards... I especially seem to have a fondness for rottweilers, bulls/pits, n' hokkaido inu. ...I also enjoy a cavalier, samoyed, shiba inu or corgi now n' then, but don't...;; don't go sharin' that with everybody, aight?

It usually depends more on their loyalty- as you mentioned, yep.

Any dog is a good dog. Full-stop. You train them, you love them... but even if they have a rough time- pun not intended- that doesn't mean they're goin' out of their way to be a "bad dog"; in fact, a lotta the time they've probably just been through some tough experiences in the past that made it hard to trust others. ...Maybe that's why I feel like I resonate with them, hah.

Lol okay so Tegiri's lusus is a monkey-dog with opposable thumbs named "Tadashi Inu", which is a common Japanese name (humans being monkeys?) and the Japanese word for dog. But if you shift the spacing over a syllable the name becomes more like "tada shinu" which means "just die". Very lawyerly.

Also Tegiri says he was watching Full Metal Alchemist last week so the primate-dog combo is absolutely referencing Nina and Alexander, same as Elwurd ("Edward") and the dog jokes sprinkled into her route.

Obviously I'll need to revisit Hiveswap to gauge its engagement with Orientalist stereotyping at some point but based on memory alone 1. the corn motifs around Mallek (which marked him as Native) now seem related to his being based on Egyptian-American actor Rami Malek and 2. Homestuck's apparent fixation on stoning as a reply to gender deviance makes me wonder if the lawyer Tegiri's name is a reference to another legal stereotype of Islam: his name could be rendered in East Alternian as 手切り, literally "hand-cutting"

The bane of Tegiri’s existence is that Tadashi Inu will bark his head off whenever there’s a slight breeze, but Polypa can climb in through the window while tegiris sleeping, make herself a pizza, rearrange all of his furniture the way she likes it, eat all of his Cheetos, leave a note telling him to get more, and leave before he wakes up, without his lusus so much as scratching his coop to let him know his crush is over.

Has multiple accounts per social media platform, always at least consisting of one for his public persona and second for his online activities

Holds meetings to the Eastern Alternian Animation Appreciation Society on alternating weekends so they can watch romcoms Polypa wants to check out / rewatch during the off weeks.

Grew up to an older fox/possum lusus; didn’t go out often because she always worried whenever she was out too late.

The thing she’s most protective over is her journal as it’s the last thing she’s completely honest to; Tegiri is bound to destroy it if something happened to her

Fluent in 2 additional languages and is currently trying to see if Tadashi Inu could potentially pick up sign language

Realized God Tier is Maid of Breath; she can hardly be backed into a corner (physically or verbally) and capable of turning the tables quickly when given the chance

Has grown paranoid of being discovered ever since she got close with Tegiri; eventually discovery of the secret still ultimately bring them closer
