I saw The World is a Beautiful Place and I am No Longer Afraid to Die on Friday, and they Fucked Severely.
Also, never thought I'd see a mosh pit at an emo revival show, but I'm sure not about to complain.
#the world is a beautiful place and i am no longer afraid to die#twiabp#emo#emo revival#live music#i desperately need everyone to know how much fun it is to mosh to January 10th 2014

Where do the echoes from the echoes go?
Where does the water flow once it leaves our homes?
I've been searching for this, something that I can run away with.
It's a life changing decision. Should I leave or try to beat this?
#i heard this song live twice and it was transcendent :)#love this album and all their early stuff so much#they also played my favorite two songs from illusory walls at both shows#twiabp#twiabp&ianlatd#the world is a beautiful place and i am no longer afraid to die#the world is a beautiful place#whenever if ever#picture of a tree that doesn't look okay#emo#music#audio#emo revival#4th wave emo

TWIABP @ Rock And Roll Hotel
The World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die returned to the DMV, after having just played The Ottobar in November, this time coming to D.C.’s Rock And Roll Hotel December 9 alongside local rock outfits Broken Hills and Two Inch Astronaut.
The emo experimental seven-piece (though there were six member this particular night) filled the venue with synth and angst, celebrating their politically-driven record, Always Foreign.
While tracks like “Gram,” “I’ll Make Everything” and “Marine Tigers” evoked introspective contemplation of America’s future, classics like “January 10th, 2014,” “Haircuts for Everybody” and “Getting Sodas” woven throughout pulled rich feelings of nostalgia from the audience.
In typical The World Is fashion, the set was brief and with the absence of an encore, however the performance wasn’t any less satisfying or cathartic. The guitar harmonics and billowing synth pleasantly rang in listeners’ ears for the days to come.
Written by Music Director, Jordan Stovka.

Tell us about the diy/emo bands you used to listen to
Oh I was into early fourth wave/Philly emo and adjacent NEPA scene stuff and pop-punkier/orgcore adjacencies. Into It. Over It, Modern Baseball, PUP, TWIABP, Tigers Jaw, Somos, Prawn, Joyce Manor, Microwave, The Hotelier, Cayetana, Petal, You Blew It!, The Menzingers, Captain We’re Sinking, a bunch of bands who’ve had outed sex creeps in them that im not gonna recommend, tinier bands like Weller and Fire Is Motion, all that Tiny Engines/Run For Cover/Topshelf Records stuff.
All of it is not strictly emo but it all lived in the same soup, mostly in Philly, and toured together relentlessly. I still listen to a lot of Menzos and PUP like they're still some of my favourite bands.

hah lmao ya when i was like 15 i was really into them, i think i saw them live like 3 times over the years, twice with twiabp. i loved the album the albatross, still dear to my heart even if i dont listen to them much anymore. i used to do a cover of the medic with my high school band. i dont like any other albums besides the albatross except for a few songs off of dealer. i have a cool foxing shirt i got from their show w twiapb where danielle almost got hit in the face w a guitar.
