Summary -> Damon makes breakfasts for you with your daughter after he comforts her from a bad dream (1k)
Warnings -> fluff, mentions of Damon’s past and death, child abandonment

Life as a vampire deprived those turned of many thugs, the greatest punishment for Damon being unable to have children. He had always thought when he was much younger that when he met a nice woman he would have the ability to settle down, and give her the greatest gift of all in the form of a child.
But when he met you, the blessing of a child had already fallen upon you prior to meeting Damon. It hurt him knowing that he could never be a father of his own, but without Tiff having a male parent in the picture, it gave Damon the opportunity to step up. He awoke from his heavenly slumber from being shaken restlessly on his bare shoulder by a small hand that was no doubt pining for his attention.
As his eyes peeled open, as expected he was met with the sight of Tiff. Her wide blue eyes were staring up at him, and if he had no recollection of his past, from a few attributes of her appearance he would have been convinced that she was his long lost daughter. "Tiffy, why are you up so early sweetie?"
In her presence, he felt like a whole new man. He forgot all the terrible things he had done as his sole focus was on her. "I couldn't sleep Damon..." Her voice was small and it trailed off into a silence that scared the man before her. It pained him to hear her minuscule heart having a rave in her chest, yet simultaneously he was comforted that she found solace in her sleepless state in him.
You remained comatised in the depths of your dreams as Dam0n helped Tiff up onto the bed, she laid between the both of you, hugging on of the pillows on the bed. "I get bad dreams sometimes too."" He confided in her, reaching to hold her hand with his own. She gripped it tightly, fearful as though Damon would disappear from beside her.
"What are they about? Your bad dreams I mean..." Tiff was a very inquisitive child, and was well educated in her speech for her age. He would never answer her question truthfully, there were far too many sins he had partaken in. There was guilt wrapped around the remainder of his soul like a parasite, and most things he had done were too violent to share. The little girl before him deserved to keep her innocence, she was a the purest light in his life, and he refused to corrupt her.
"Well Tiffy, when I was younger, so a really long time ago, me and my brother would play around the garden with a football. Neither him or my dad if he dared dirty his clothes never let me win. And I miss my mom, she wasn't in my life then, she left us... me." To know Lily hadn't died but in fact abandoned him and. Stefan only pained him furthermore, it had been her choice to leave him in the custody of his neglectful father.
"Oh. Mine was you left mommy and me, like my real daddy did." His heart ached from hearing her words. "You're kinda like my dad, aren't you? You're here protecting us, and you make the bad dreams go away. Do you think mommy's having a good or bad dream?" To think she saw him as a parent figure made Damon feel proud about his journey, he'd come such a long way and finally, he had everything that he had ever wanted.
In reply to her enquiry his eyes trailed past Tiff and rested on his beloved. Your face was rested peacefully atop of the pillow beneath your head, strands of hair laying softly on your cheek. It was a rare occasion that you weren’t unconsciously kicking him, but he guessed that your maternal instincts sensed that your daughter was between the two of you.
“A good dream.” He answered her, thinking about how perfect his life was in the moment. “But it’d be even better if we woke her up with some brekkie.” He insisted as he laid a kiss on Tiff’s hairline, helping her clamber off from the mattress gently, as to not awaken you prematurely. They trailed through the hallway and down the stairs to the kitchen, Damon picking Tiff up and sitting her on the countertop. “What do you think we should make, kid?”
“Pancakes!” The child exclaimed, and Damon had to remind her to be soft with her voice as you were still sleeping upstairs. Or so they thought… your bare feet had followed the route they had taken some moments later, and as they made use out of the frying pan, you watched the two of them from the doorway. A small part of you had wished they’d woken you up so that you could join them and teach them some culinary skills that would deplete the mess they had made around them, however the sight you had was everything.
The three of you were one big happy family. “And the two of you are making what exactly?” Halloween costumes would have been your first guess for when they spun around, the flour that they had used as an ingredient illuminated the high points of their faces. Tiff gave you a toothy smile as Damon blew you a kiss before returning to the pan that was hissing for his attention.
“We’re making pancakes, right daddy?” You froze, and Damon ignored that the cooking breakfast required a flip to its other side when the title escaped her mouth. She had never called Damon that before, but it justified Damon’s appearance of flour on his face and a towel slung over his shoulder. “Is that okay baby?” Damon asked you with uncertainty tied around his tongue.
You stood there, remembering all of the milestones and moments that Tiffany’s biological father had missed but Damon had been there for. She loved drives in his Camaro, he’d take her out for ice cream after he collected her from kindergarten thinking you didn’t know but you did. It was difficult to be against Damon being her ‘daddy’, because in all aspects he was. “It’s more than okay. But I don’t think the breakf- sorry, brekkie is; smells like it’s burning.”

Christmas Eve with Elijah (Oneshot)
Warnings: none, it's pure fluff, so much fluff🥺, Kassie missed her big brother and he missed her too. They spend Christmas together, a bit of angst at the end, sorry, I had to 😭
This is set in 1995 so it's before the prologue where Kassie gets daggered.

1995, Geneva, Switzerland
As Kassandra sat alone in her house on Christmas Eve, a sense of melancholy weighed heavy on her heart, the solitude of the holiday season serving as a stark reminder of the years she had spent alone. Rebekah, Finn, Koll - all daggered. Elijah was God knows where and she didn't even want to know where Klaus was. "Hopefully as far away from me as possible," She thought bitterly as she downed another glass of red wine.
For over 50 years, she has been living in relative solitude. Her only human companions were her ever-changing maids and chauffeurs. She rarely ventured into town, preferring to keep a low profile, lest Klaus decided to pay her a visit. Her mansion was on the outskirts of the city of Geneva, secluded by a small grove growing around it. Her other companions were animals, mostly dogs or cats and over 5 decades she has adopted and nurtured hundreds of pups and kittens.
Lost in her thoughts, she was startled by the sound of a knock at her door, a sudden interruption in the quiet of her home. Too overwhelmed by her emotions to face whoever stood on the other side, Kassandra instructed her maid, Lucia, to answer the door in her stead.
"Buongiorno. Kassandra è a casa?" (Good morning. Is Kassandra home?) Then, as if in a dream, she heard the unmistakable voice of her older brother, and her breath caught in her throat. For a moment, she dared not believe her ears, the mere thought of seeing him after so many years too surreal to comprehend.
With trembling hands and a racing heart, Kassandra rushed to the front door, her steps echoing through the empty halls of her home. And there, standing before her, was Elijah – tall, dignified, and resplendent in a black, tailored suit, his presence commanding yet comforting. His dark eyes gazed softly at her and a small smile danced on his lips.
“Elijah?” Kassandra whispered, her voice barely above a breath, her eyes wide with disbelief as she beheld her long-lost brother.
"Hello, angel," Elijah greeted softly, his deep, calming voice washing over her like a soothing balm. At that moment, as their eyes met across the threshold of her home, Kassandra felt a flood of emotions wash over her – relief, joy, and an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the unexpected gift of his presence on this sacred night.
As Kassandra stood before him, her heart overflowing with emotion, she found herself unable to tear her gaze away from her brother, the sight of him after so many years leaving her breathless with disbelief and longing.
"È mio fratello. Fallo entrare." (He's my brother. Let him in.) She instructed Lucia to allow him entry, her voice trembling with anticipation as she awaited his arrival.
As Elijah stepped over the threshold and into her home, Kassandra could no longer contain the overwhelming rush of emotions that threatened to consume her. Without a moment's hesitation, she threw herself into his arms, her embrace so fierce and desperate that it momentarily took his breath away.
Staggering slightly under the weight of her embrace, Elijah quickly recovered and wrapped his arms around her, holding her close as she clung to him with all her strength. For a moment, they stood locked in an embrace that transcended time and space, the years of separation melting away in the warmth of their reunion.
Eventually, with a gentle chuckle, Elijah managed to pry Kassandra's arms from around him, though the look of reluctance in her eyes made it clear that she was not quite ready to let go. As he met her gaze, he found himself captivated by the depth of emotion reflected in her large, blue eyes – the tears that glistened on her lashes, the wide pupils that spoke of her overwhelming relief, and the look of disbelief that lingered in their depths.
"It's good to see you too, sweet sister," Elijah murmured, his voice soft with affection as he reached out to brush a stray tear from her cheek. "It's been too long."
At that moment, Kassandra knew that no matter how many years had passed, the bond between them remained unbreakable.
As Kassandra buried her face in Elijah's embrace, her tears soaking into his suit, she felt a floodgate of emotions release within her. For years, she had longed for this moment, the chance to be reunited with her beloved brother after so many decades apart. And now, as they stood together in the quiet sanctuary of her home, she found herself unable to contain the overwhelming rush of joy and gratitude that swelled within her heart.
For hours they talked, their voices mingling in a symphony of shared memories and long-held secrets, each word a precious thread that wove together the fabric of their shared history. With each passing moment, Kassandra felt the weight of the years melt away, replaced by a sense of belonging and connection that she had feared lost forever.
But as the evening wore on and the shadows lengthened, Kassandra found herself overcome with a desperate plea – a plea for just one more day, one more moment to spend in the company of her brother, to savor the warmth of his presence and the comfort of his love.
"Please! Just one more day, please!" she begged, her voice choked with emotion as tears continued to stream down her face. "I can't spend another Christmas alone with no family! I haven't seen you in so long! Please, Elijah!" She hasn't seen Elijah since 1919 - she won't be letting him go so easily.
After a moment's hesitation, Elijah's expression softened, his resolve giving way to the depth of his sister's plea. With a gentle nod, he agreed to spend Christmas with her, his own heart stirred by the depth of her love and the sincerity of her longing.
And so, with tears of gratitude still glistening in her eyes, Kassandra led Elijah to one of the spare bedrooms, her heart overflowing with joy and relief at the prospect of sharing this sacred holiday with the brother she had thought lost to her forever.
~
As Christmas dawned, Kassandra and Elijah found themselves enveloped in the warmth and serenity of the holiday spirit. After attending the morning mass together, they embarked on a day filled with shared laughter and cherished memories, each moment a testament to the bond that had brought them back together after so many years apart.
In the evening, they ventured out onto the ice, the crisp winter air filled with the sounds of laughter and the soft swish of blades against the frozen surface. As Kassandra glided across the ice with effortless grace, her movements fluid and elegant, she couldn't help but glance back at Elijah, a playful twinkle in her eye.
"Come on 'Lijah! Join me!" she called out, her voice echoing across the ice as she urged her brother to join her in the joyous celebration of the holiday season.
But Elijah, ever the dignified gentleman, remained seated on the sidelines, content to watch his sister's exuberant display from afar. With a polite refusal, he declined her invitation, his eyes following her every movement with a fondness that spoke volumes.
Kassandra responded with mock sadness, her bottom lip jutting out in a playful pout as she teased her brother for his reluctance to join in the festivities. But Elijah's gentle chuckle only served to deepen her resolve, and she continued to skate with abandon, her laughter ringing out in the crisp night air.
"You're no fun..." she teased, her words laced with affection as she twirled gracefully across the ice, her heart overflowing with joy at the simple pleasure of spending this special day with her beloved brother by her side.
~
Once Kassie got her fill of skating on ice, they walked through the park back to her car. Night had fallen, the air was cold and crisp and in the distance church bells could be heard.
The park was mostly empty, save for a person here or there. Kassie put her arms around Elijah's forearm as they walked. It started snowing and after a few minutes, Kassie's long dark curls were covered with hundreds of snowflakes, her nose and cheeks rosy from the cold winter air.
She looked like an angel, Elijah thought as Kassie giggled. "What?" he asked curiously. She shook her head adorably.
"Remember when we were little and Bekah and I used to chase you around the village, trying to throw snowballs at you, and then all of a sudden Kol hit Bekah right in the face?" Kassie recounted, the joyful memory vivid in her mind even after a thousand years.
Elijah smiled. "She was furious. She would've ripped his head off if allowed. Thankfully, Mother stopped her."
Kassie giggled once more, the sound echoing in Elijah's ears. Under the light of the moon, covered in snow, she reminded him of the normal human childhood they once had. At that moment, an image of a little girl happily chasing after him popped up in his mind.
He was so deep in thought he hadn't noticed Kassie moving away from him and grabbing a handful of snow. What brought him back to reality was a dull hit to his right shoulder.
He turned around only to be hit again, this time right in the chest. Kassie looked at him, her hand covering her mouth to prevent herself from laughing. He gave her an unamused look and she burst out into giggles.
Elijah couldn't help but laugh as well.
Tumblr media
As the day came to a close, they went back to Kassandra's house. After dinner, Elijah stood by the fire and watched as the wood burned. "I don't want you to go," Kassandra's voice, filled with desperation, shattered the silence that hung heavy in the air, her plea echoing with the depth of her longing and the fear of losing her brother once more.
Elijah sighed softly, his heart heavy with the knowledge that this moment had been inevitable from the start. "I don't want to either," he admitted, his voice tinged with regret as he turned to face his sister. "But if Klaus finds out..."
He trailed off, the unspoken implications hanging between them like a dark cloud, the threat of their brother's wrath casting a shadow over their fragile reunion. For Klaus, ever vigilant and possessive of his siblings, discovering Elijah's presence would surely lead to dire consequences for them both, consequences that neither of them dared to contemplate.
"But you're my brother as well!" Kassandra argued, her voice rising with a fervor born of love and desperation, her eyes pleading with Elijah to reconsider his decision. In her heart, she knew that the bond between them was stronger than any threat Klaus could pose, stronger even than the passage of time itself.
But Elijah knew better than anyone the dangers that lurked in the shadows, the ever-present threat of their brother's unpredictable temper, and the lengths to which he would go to maintain control over his family. And so, with a heavy heart and a sense of resignation, Elijah made his decision, knowing that it was the only choice he could make to keep them both safe.
"I'll find a way to come back and I will avenge our siblings for what he had done to them," he promised, his voice soft but determined as he reached out to squeeze Kassandra's hand in reassurance. "Until then, stay safe, my dear sister. You'll always have a place in my heart, no matter where I may be."
And with those words, spoken with a solemnity that belied the depth of his love, Elijah turned away from the fire and the warmth of his sister's embrace, steeling himself for the journey ahead as he prepared to face the uncertain future that awaited him beyond the confines of her home.
Little did he know, Kassandra too would fall victim to Klaus's temper.

Hi lovelies, just wanted to say I've decided to put this series on a bit of a hold. College is kicking my ass and the second semester is harder than I thought.😭 I won't be free until the end of June so until then I'll only be posting one-shots or headcanons since they're easier to write.
For my HOTD fanfic, I have four chapters prewritten so that won't be a problem but for this one, I already posted all the chapters I wrote lol. Hope you can understand and have patience until I free myself from the shackles of the exam season💀
Love you and thanks for reading! ❤❤
If you have any opinions feel free to comment.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Kol Mikaelson's soul manages to leave and travel while he still remains daggered in his coffin. While he wanders around and bitches about his life, he meets an unexpected friend. Warning(s): VERY HEAVY crack fic, technical crossover of fandoms, weird shit, Kol is a horny-ass gremlin, Druig & Kaety are obsessed with each other, Kol has a thing for witches bc he got mommy issues, Klaus is a bitch
Note: Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it! This fic came from an idea that I shared with @ethereal-athalia, and it is VERY much a crack fic. I don't have any plans in continuing this idea, but I wanted to write it out as a Christmas gift to @ethereal-athalia for how much of a good friend she's been to me. I never would have been able to do any of my fics without her in my corner. I own only my Hecate!OC. I do not own either Druig from Eternals, or Kol from TVD franchise. Also, Druig still very much exists in this fic and world bc I physically CANNOT write Kaety without Druig. Stay safe and hope that your upcoming year brings you all good health and happiness!

Kol hated being dead. Truly dead. Dead in a way that he couldn’t move or speak or live.
At least when he turned as a gift Mother Dearest he could still walk, even if he couldn’t use the arcane anymore. But of course, he would still always find his way back to witches and their magic. He couldn’t help it if he exuded that charm that made him so irresistible.
Gods, just remembering how pathetically sex-deprived his physical form was currently almost made him weep. He couldn’t wait until the moment he got that fucking silver dagger out of his chest. Nik was going to get it when he finally got out.
Sure, he may have crossed a line when he stated that Nik had a pair of buttocks flatter than a sheet of paper. But was he the one that gave his brother such lacking assets? No. That fault lied entirely with their mother and his biological father, thank you very much.
But alas, here his soul was, walking in a forest in the middle of some mosquito-flooded country.
At the very least, his gorgeous body was safe from the onslaught of bug bites and sweltering humidity. Only in the fucking Amazon did winter feel like summer.
Kol audibly groaned once more at the thought of his immaculate figure rotting away thanks to Nik. He couldn’t bear to think about how his illustrious fair skin being that dull grayish hue from being confined by death. At least when Bekah got daggered, Nik had the decency to make sure that her body remained stored in proper conditions and carefully encased in magic to prevent any harm coming to her. He had no guarantee. No, such love and devotion only went to ‘Lijah and Bekah when it came to Nik.
Story of his life: always an outsider, even with his own fucking siblings. Gods, he wanted nothing more than have his powers return to him. At least with magic by his side he’d finally be able to show Nik he wasn’t the only one with threats, he’d show him, he’d –
“Well, well, well,” came a new voice, “aren’t you a strange sight?”
Kol immediately turned his head to locate the mindless idiot that dared to interrupt his thoughts. Did humans devolve so pathetically that they no longer understood that when they see a soul wandering alone, that soul would likely be uninterested in any attempts of conversation? But looking at the individual who spoke to him, he was shocked beyond himself to witness such a devastatingly gorgeous woman before him. She had dark almond-shaped eyes and tall with legs that went on for miles. And her thick and illustrious raven waves practically flowed down the middle of her back like a black waterfall.
Dare he say it, this woman was almost as beautiful than him.
But regardless of how pleasing her outward appearance may be, she still would not be spared from his fury.
Pity, he would have loved to wrap those legs around his waist if he were actually here.
The corners of the woman’s lips went upward, and the cupid’s bow of her mouth was slightly pursed as she smirked, making her lips look plumper and more bitable than how they had right to be in the Original’s opinion. It was only a few seconds before the succubus burst out laughing. Her entire body arched with her back as she simply couldn’t contain herself.
“I’m sorry,” she said once he began to calm down, “but I’m afraid that I happen to be very happily married. In fact, I have been for the past near seven thousand years.” After making a quick glance up and down Kol’s near transparent form, she continued with a cat-like grin. “And I highly doubt someone as woefully young as you could satisfy a woman like me.”
Oh, now he was offended. Not being able to satisfy– did this woman have any idea who she was talking to? The list of names of men and women that swore they only believed in Heaven when Kol fucked them was so long that it would wrap the Earth twice. And she better believe than each time was more than consensual – they were begging him very enthusiastically to say the least. Who was this lady to assume –
Wait, did she say seven thousand years?
As if she could hear his thoughts, all the woman did was smiled before extending her hand.
“I think I’d like it very much if you and I became friends.”
Extending his own, Kol was surprised to see that his hand didn’t just pass through like it normally would for most physical objects. He could actually grasp her hand and feel the warmth passing through it. For the first time in…forever, Kol felt warmth flooding through him. He stared into her eyes, wondering how on Earth someone could live for seven thousand years. Even if she had the gift of mediumship, his presence was too well-hidden for even the most gifted and powerful medium to sense him.
Kol had to know more of her. He’d go mad if he didn’t.
“What are you exactly?” he carefully asked.
He could sense that this person was a being of extreme power. In the top of her finger, she likely contained far more power than Nik could possibly imagine, even in his wildest dreams. It seemed that being an invisible soul floating in the wind had its perks after all. If he was alive, walking and about, he’d never come across this marvel of a woman.
“I’d prefer if you began that question with ‘who’ than ‘what,’ but I suppose that matters little in this situation. My name is Kaetlyn, I prefer Kaet for my friends, but you may know me better as-”
“Hekate,” he whispered in awe, “Goddess of Magic. Titaness Mother of Witches and Monsters.”
“Surprised in a good way I hope?” Kaet asked with one brow raised.
“More or less, but I did imagine you about 30 feet taller with the night sky for skin and two more heads.”
“Well,” she softly chuckled, “I hope I didn’t disappoint you with my appearance. Now I’ll forgive you just this once for interrupting me. But only if you allow me to take you to my home.”
“Oh?” Kol asked, a salacious grin spreading across his face. Now things were getting interesting.
“Save it Kol Mikaelson-” ordered the ancient goddess as she raised her hand to her face as she pointed at him in warning- “I am taking you to the village that I run with my husband. So, I suggest that you keep your hands to yourself because he has a nasty little habit of being showing exactly how off-limits I am to youngsters such as yourself.”
“I never told you my-”
“You were once a witch, and I am the mother of magic. All witches and their magic came from me, including you.”
It really was so unfair how good she looked while talking over him. Oh well, he might as well play along. Finally, something interesting was happening in his life.
“So, who is this husband of yours, darling? And how can you be so sure that your husband could be a threat to me? You know who I am, what I became. What makes you so sure that once I enter your village, I won’t use my ghostly ways to end him.”
When Kol finished, he immediately felt a shift in the air. It was as if the sun had disappeared and the jungle went silent. It seemed that the animals that served as their audience went dead silent as if they were in anticipation for his end. The kind and amiable mirth of the chthonic witch shifted to dangerous and cold.
Kol had lived for over 700 years and after everything he done and witnessed, he had never felt such chill run down his spine.
“Listen well,” she began – her tone laced with the power and authority that came from someone of her position, “I won’t try to humor you with answering that ridiculous question, nor do I intend to let you presume that my kindness can be mistaken for naivety. My husband is one with abilities as ancient and powerful as mine. If you truly knew what he was capable of, you’d be far more terrified of him than you ever were of your father. That being said, if you ever try to threaten my husband or even think about go so far to joke about it again, I promise you that I can produce torture and incite fear that would make the devil weep in pity for you.”
Oh fuck, even as a ghost, Kol should not have been as aroused by her threats as he was in that moment.
But soon the tension dissipated and warmth from the sun returned to pass through him once more.
“Now that we have that matter cleared up, we really should get going. The sun’s about to set and you never know what or who would be lurking at night.”
With that being the final word, The Good Lady of the Night and Shadows turned around and made her way back to where he presumed to be the location of her home village. And what else could he do but follow her by how the slight sway of her hips seemed to beckon him.
Threats and chills mixed a beautiful witch with magic more ancient than time itself, Kol couldn’t remember the last time he felt so alive.
Authors' Note: And when Kol enters the village, he tries to flirt with Kaet in front of Druig like a dumbass, and his soul gets a major ass-whooping.

Your P.O.V.
I was curled up in Damon's bedroom on the bed with Elijah watching Hamilton on the TV, the musical/play turned up to drown out the sounds of my father- sorry step-dad or whatever- screaming in the basement.
After I'd killed him- his blood had tasted amazing- he'd come back into transition. Klaus pretty much forced blood down his throat. After that, Marcel, Enzo, Kol, Klaus, and Damon had taken turns torturing him for hurting me.
What my dad had done to me had spread throughout the others. Freya, Bonnie, Caroline, Davina Rebekah, Vincent, and even Alaric had taken their own shots at him.
I hadn't expected Bonnie because she was sweet, but she was furious. And I hadn't expected Alaric, but I think he was thinking about his own daughters when he was punched dad in the face.
Freya had a little to much fun torturing dad with magic.
I hid upstairs with only Elijah for company as I wanted nothing to do with dad who wasn't really my dad and also because now I had mixed feelings. Every time I tried hating him, I remembered him flying me over his head at the beach in Florida and all the sweet things we had done before I turned fourteen.
Elijah was one of the only people who cared about me that didn't hurt Dad. Mostly, I think, because he understood I didn't really like it. So he indulged me in watching Hamilton and Harry Potter and Star Wars and whatever else I wanted to watch. We binge watched all the Marvel movies in three days.
"I have an idea." Elijah murmured as the play came to an end- I was crying of course because Alexander was dead.
"Hmm?" I asked, burrowing my head into his T-shirt. Over the few days, he had reluctantly been wearing T-shirts and sweatpants because I wanted him in comfortable clothes instead of fancy. It was definitely a strange sight to see.
I looked up at him when he didn't answer and smiled, tugging at his hair which he was growing out a little.
"I'm going to take you to Orlando." Elijah said, wrapping his arms around my waist. "We can go to Universal studios and your Harry Potter world. And we can visit animal kingdom and magic kingdom and I'll spoil you silly."
I was hesitant, even though it did sound immensely fun. "But all those humans. . . I don't know if I can control myself."
"I'll help you, I promise." Elijah murmured. "But you need to get out of the house."
I nodded because I knew he was right. "Let's bring Caroline and Ric so they can bring their kids too." I murmured. "Ric needs to get out of this house too."
Elijah nodded, "Okay."
We both stared at each other and I asked rather hesitantly, "And. . . Klaus and Damon?"
"We can't force them to come." Elijah murmured.
I fiddled with my daylight ring. The sapphire, emerald, and diamond fused together along with the colours of the bands along with some starlight so keep me from burning during the day. "Why are they still torturing him? It's been a week? Hasn't he felt enough pain?"
Elijah took my face in his hands. His chocolate eyes were so warm and his brown hair that was slowly becoming floppy again made me flush. How did I get gifted with my handsome men? "Personally, I won't touch him because I know you're unhappy with it. But if I could, I would torture him day and night for centuries for hurting you."
Why was my brain arguing with him? Elijah was speaking the truth: he had hurt me. But at the same time. . .
I burst into tears. "I don't understand! Why do I feel the need to defend him? I don't understand! Am I messed up? Elijah please help me!"
Elijah's face twisted in pain, gathering me in his arms, laying back to hold me to him. "He's your father. You loved him once and that's the part that wants to defend you. But Y/N, you know he's hurt you and he's hurt you in a way that you should never have been hurt. You aren't messed up, you're just confused."
"He's not even my father!" I said, pounding on Elijah's chest weakly.
"You believed he was for nineteen years. That's not something you forget overnight."
"Might take a hundred years, yeah?" I asked, smiling weakly, attempting a joke.
Elijah laughed softly, reaching up and cupping my face in his hands, "Yeah."
"When do you want to leave?" I asked, still a little nervous about being in large crowds.
"Well, I was thinking almost no one will be there in January, in a few weeks, cause everyone will be back in school. It would be relatively uncrowded."
I nodded, "That sounds nice. Do you want Hayley and Hope to come too?"
"No." Elijah said with zero hesitation. "But if you want to invite Freya, Vincent, Bonnie, and Enzo you can. They might like the magic of Disney and romance."
I grinned, "That sounds nice. I'll drop suggestions to Klaus and Damon. I would hate for them to think I left them out."
Elijah nodded kissing my temple.
Damon and Niklaus came upstairs as I was putting the next movies series on. I wrinkled my nose, hiding my face in Elijah's shirt at the smell of dad's vampire blood. Elijah put an arm around me.
They stripped their clothes and Damon laughed, "Twilight Y/N? Sparkling fairy vampires."
I scowled into Elijah's shirt.
"Damon leave it." Elijah said curtly.
"Is something wrong?" Klaus' voice was filled with anxiety and worry for me. I smiled a little, looking over at him.
"'Lijah and I were talking about all of us going to Disney as a family." I murmured. "Well at first, just us. But I thought maybe Ric would like to take the kids with Care. And of course, Bonnie and Enzo and Freya and Vincent might like to go as couples."
"Disney?" Damon cocked an eyebrow.
"And Universal studios." Elijah said behind me. "She's been wanting to go to Harry Potter world forever."
I smiled, nodding my head excitedly. "And 'Lijah promised he'd make sure I didn't feed on anyone."
"Well I'm all for it!" Nik said excitedly, clasping his hands together before reaching into the closet for a fresh T-shirt.
"Damon?" I asked hesitantly.
He looked so angry, not at me, but probably at dad. His eyes were distant and his head snapped towards me. "What?"
Elijah's arms tightened around me and I asked, "Do you- do you want to come?"
"I'm going to stay here." He extracted a stake from the top drawer and made his way out of the room again.
I felt sad, leaning against Elijah's arms and Nik read my face, "What's wrong? You know it doesn't mean he doesn't love you just because he's not going."
"That's not it." I mumbled, shutting the TV off and snuggling into Elijah to fall asleep. Nik said nothing more until they thought I was asleep.
"What is it Elijah?"
"She feels conflicted about how you're treating Y/F/N. She thinks he's been hurt enough." Elijah murmured softly.
Nik scoffed, "He hasn't felt enough pain for what he's done to her."
"Nik, if you and Damon don't just kill Y/F/N and get this over with, Damon is going to end up losing her. You might too."
Nik was silent and then said in a very angry voice, "He deserves to feel pain Elijah. He literally had his dick inside of her! He had hands tied behind her back! He had her gagged! And he had a knife beside him! If we hadn't gotten there when we had he might've killed her! He doesn't even feel guilty for it! It's disgusting!"
I peeked my eyes open to see his eyes were now yellow, boring into Elijah's chocolate ones. I quickly closed them again.
"Niklaus, you have to respect what she wants. You're angry that someone hurt her, fine. I am too. But it's also the man she grew up thinking was her father and I think it should ultimately be her decision of what wants to happen. Just rip his heart out and be done with it."
Nik was silent again until he finally muttered, "Fine. The sun's still out anyways."
"Meaning?" Elijah asked with a sigh.
"We'll have a bonfire. I'll invite everyone to come." Nik sounded delighted.
"Very well. I'll be staying here with Y/N." Elijah muttered, running a hand through my H/C hair.
"You don't want to see him burn alive?" Nik asked curiously.
"I do. But I don't want her to wake up alone either." Elijah muttered.
Nik sighed, sounding disappointed. "And here I was thinking you could be the one to light him on fire as you haven't had the pleasure of torturing him yet."
Elijah ignored him. Or at least, I thought he had ignored until he said, "Fine. Let me grab a suit. Maybe Davina will stay with her until I get back."
"I think Davina will like to watch." Nik said. "But maybe."
Nik walked out of the room and Elijah slid from the bed, tucking me under the covers. He kissed my forehead and murmured, "I'll be back soon princess."
And then even he was gone.
I sighed, grabbing a pillow and holding it like a stuffed animal. So they were going to burn dad? Elijah was going to set dad on fire.
No. Not dad.
I thought about what Klaus had said. How he'd been raping me, had tied me up, had possibly wanted to kill me. I sat up quickly. I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
Elijah P.O.V.
I fixed my tie in the mirror, green this time as Y/N had expressed a liking to me wearing green ties. Strange how I had taken into account all her opinions when doing things.
At the moment, Y/F/N was wearing a daylight ring, being held by Marcel and Niklaus. Davina had said she didn't want to miss out on this and so Y/N was left upstairs by herself. It worried me slightly, but Hayley, Elena, and Stefan were in the living room with Hope, Josie, and Lizzy so if she woke up, they'd tell her where we were.
Elena thought we were being absolutely barbaric and was angry with Damon, Caroline, and Bonnie. She blamed Klaus and Enzo for Caroline and Bonnie's eagerness for Y/F/N's execution. Truth was, Y/N was just their friend and they wanted to see her attacker suffer.
Freya and Bonnie bound Y/F/N to the wooden stake that was placed upright by Alaric and Vincent earlier that day.
"Let's get this over with." Rebekah huffed, eyeing Y/F/N with dislike. Alaric was leaning against the tree next to Damon, both of them had bourbons in their hands. They clinked them together.
I sighed, rolling my eyes at the theatrics. This was weird, it felt wrong, but as I looked into Y/F/N's eyes, I saw he had zero regrets there. I touched his hand, going to pull off the ring and saw into his mind. He didn't regret anything, his mind not even focusing on his death, but of all the times that he had fucked Y/N. Her pain, the way that she screamed and begged him to let her go. All because she looked like her mother.
That did it for me. I yanked the daylight ring off his hand, tossing it to Enzo who caught it in one hand, tucking it into his pocket.
Y/F/N started to burn and he started to scream and none of us watched in pity.
"STOP! END IT!" Y/F/N shouted.
Out of nowhere, there was a whistling sound, and a carved stake out of the same wood used to make Y/N's bed back at her own house pierced his heart.
The burning died down as his veins started to shrivel, blood draining as his heart was pierced, and turn gray.
We all spun to see Y/N standing there: blue jeans, purple T-shirt, red jacket, and white shoes. Her hair pulled back in a H/L ponytail. [sorry if you have short hair]. She had flung the stake at him. We all stared in a bit of shock.
"So." She asked with a bit of a smirk, "Can we got to Disney now?"
I relaxed, smiling, "Anything my princess wants."
~Two Years later~
"Y/S/N, get back here right now!" Y/N yelled at our son as he ran towards the road.
Damon swooped in front of him, picking him up under the arms, carrying him back to the house. Klaus, Y/N, and I all sighed in relief.
"You would think we could keep a better eye on him." Y/N grumbled.
The surgery that she had undergone gave her the ability to conceive, also making any children we had either Niklaus'- if we had sex on or around a full moon- or Damon's as he had also undergone the surgery.
Y/N had feared I would feel left out, but I didn't mind truly. In a way, they were still my children too.
She was pregnant again, one of the reasons that she couldn't move as fast as Damon. We found that as she was pregnant, it seemed to make her more human and her vampire senses were cut in half, though she still needed blood and could still move a littler faster than humans and also was still able to compel humans.
Y/S/N yawned in Damon's arms, closing his blue eyes- which he'd gotten from Damon- and fell fast asleep.
"Finally." Y/N muttered, leaning into Klaus' embrace. "I thought I'd have to stay awake for another few hours."
She thought it was her responsibility to take care of the boy 24-7, even when Niklaus, Damon, and I had all told her we would share in the responsibility of raising him.
"Come on love." Niklaus said, kissing the side of her head, "Let's go upstairs shall we."
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Damon asked with a grin.
"You two are insatiable." I mumbled, taking Y/S/N out of Damon's arms.
"They're not the only ones." Y/N grinned, strutting towards me and throwing her arms around my neck, kissing my lips. "Come on Elijah." She tugged on my tie a little.
"Caroline!" I shouted and Caroline appeared from the girls' bedroom.
"Elijah?" Caroline asked, raising her eyebrow, flinging her blond hair over her shoulder in annoyance.
"I thought you should be forewarned that we're heading into the bedroom and we also need someone to watch Y/S/N." I explained.
Caroline smirked, rolling her eyes, jumping over the banister and landing in front of me. "Insatiable bastards."
"Unnecessary comments." I muttered.
"Ric! We're going out!" Caroline shouted, dashing back up to the room.
"Let's go." I said, kissing the side of Y/N's head.

Dating Niklaus
♡ Klaus didnt believe it when you first agreed to go out with him
♡ He still doesn't but he is beyond grateful that you are
♡ He likes to show you how grateful he is always leaving you gifts, setting up surprises for you and holds you just that little bit tighter
♡ oh the dates he takes you on
♡ they are always so personal and intimate
♡ little picnics together surrounded by beautiful flowers, but obviously, he always mentions that your beauty is far superior in comparison
♡ Niklaus likes to tease you a lot, often finding it endearing and cute that it’s so easy to have you flustered and shy
♡ you both painting together in his studio and him standing behind you, guiding your brush with his large hand engulfing yours
♡ or you posing for him while you chat about any and everything...if you ever feel self-conscious under his gaze, he'll always reassure you by listing everything he loves about you
♡ He is obsessed with cuddles
♡ He loves laying on your chest, and when you wrap your arms around him or comb your fingers through his hair, it never fails to relax him
♡ he is always lovely and sweet with you, but to everyone else, he was the terrifying hybrid that kills without mercy
♡ not that he would let you see that side of him, he always tries to keep that part of him away from you
♡ the thought of you being even slightly afraid of him makes him feel sick

Legacies 1x04 Rewatch:
Just seeing all the comic book decor in MG's room makes me so sad that we never got to see him and Landon geek out together
The amount of (lame) TVD cameos in S1 was wild considering they did not keep that energy up
If I had a nickel for every time the Salvatore School made a fake exchange program with Mystic Falls High over a murder, I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice
"Who are you and what did you do with Hope Mikaelson?" Just you wait ...
The blatant use of TVD scenes for the exterior shots of MFHS and they couldn't even match the green filter of Legacies
Lizdon best friendism!!!
"Try not to deliberately alienate the entire student body." "I tried to be her friend when I was five and when I was nine and when I was thirteen." "I'm sorry we couldn't see why you were hurting back then." SCREAMING.
"Would you like to be the Robin to my Batwoman?" "Batwoman doesn't have a Robin." "Metaphor." FOR LESBIANISM.
"I'm working on offensive spells." Maybe we should've known she was blood thirsty from the start
Rosie and Finsie both have a breakfast scene BUT NOT JANDON OR POSIE. WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS?
No because how did Josie have Raf so wrapped around her finger and still manage to come up with a fake sob story about Lizzie winning him
Baby Handon, my beloveds
Hope 🤝 Lizzie 🤝 Accusing MG of failing at compulsion
Lizzie being so grossed out by MG's unrelenting advances and him STILL not getting the message. Oh I hate what this rewatch is doing to my best boy.
"Dana is dead." Oh no ... what are we gonna do ...
"I expect you to be with Hope when I do" hits so much harder knowing about 4x06
"You are a horrible liar." "I suck at lying." Okay Lizzie I see you
We were robbed of Cheerleader!Hope, even in an AU
I still need someone to edit "They're a gift from Cheryl" into a Hope Mikaelson x Cheryl Blossom edit
"Relax, Eeyore." Hope, your Lizzie is popping out.
"I don't even like any of you" but we all know who she's best friends with in the Human AU
Jed truly was terrible in the beginning. Like who is that? I don't know him. Bully!Jed isn't real unless you believe in him.
"I'm a feminist." You're a liar is what you are actually.
I really do miss S3 actual feminist MG. Bring him back to me already.
The casual Dana E.D. jokes were ... certainly a choice for a 2019 show ...
The Kaleb x Landon dynamic deserved more
"Years of practice with Lizzie" and we never once get to see it. Like??
"You're dead if you don't submit." I'm sorry but like has a werewolf student ever actually been murdered for not joining the pack? I feel like we would've heard about that.
"It's Sasha." Was Sasha even at the flag football game? How do they know her?
BASES IT OFF OF GREEK LORE. OH THE GREEK GODS SET UP WAS THERE. IT WAS THERE.
"My money's on your boyfriend." "He's not my boyfriend." She just wanted to hear you say it, sweetie.
"Whatever spun this is gonna come back and eat us." We couldn't be that lucky. Imagine how much better the series would have been.
I still ship Connor x Josie. I don't care.
Landon rushing in to save Josie. Oh Jandon serves whether you want to admit it or not.
The S1 Core 6 did not get enough scenes together
THE MOMENT IT ALL CHANGED FOR LIZZIE. OH GOD OH GOD. HOLD ON TIGHT.
THINGS ARE SHIFTING.
"I'm a twin. I don't do anything solo." You just spent the entire episode without Lizzie because being a hero is too much pressure??? You spent the whole last episode apart from her too???? It's only the fourth episode?????
It's almost laughable how much Josie lies. Like every other word out of her mouth is straight up false and she knows it.
Still think Jed x Rafael should have had a thing.
I miss this Handon angst. THIS. THIS IS THE GOOD STUFF. Not the circular conflict they got stuck in later.
"Being a hero is not more important than being safe." This is your suicidal daughter, my dude. She does not care about being safe.
"She thinks she's too good to give you the time of day." Actually it's
Tumblr media
"Don't disrespect her like that. We got enough monsters out here as it is. We cannot become one of them." MG YOU DIDN'T DIE THE HERO. YOU LIVED LONG ENOUGH TO BECOME THE VILLAIN. GOD DAMN IT.
Wait a minute. Josie was stuck in a spider web, almost dying, and Landon saved the day instead of Penelope Park making an appearance? Penelope would have never.
"If you threaten my kids, Sheriff, I'll be the one coming for you." No, maybe I get it. Maybe I do still get the attraction.

“Squirrel, tell me again how this will help you find your girl,” Crowley complains. Dean restrained him to a chair, even took his time to paint a devil’s trap on the ground and the ceiling. “Dean?”
“The demon wants us to hand you over, and we will do so,” Sam smirks when the demon starts to fight the ropes. “Crowley, relax. He only wants to play.”
“Let me out of the trap, Dean! We had a deal. Do not break a deal you made with the king of hell,” the king of hell growls. “I will kill you all.”
“Crowley, this is a set-up, okay. We will lure the demon in, find out where he’s holding Y/N hostage, and kill him. A win-win situation. You’ll be free of him, and we will get Y/N back,” Dean doesn’t give away he can barely think straight for days. His hands shake a little when he walks toward the window to check if the demon already arrived.
“What if he doesn’t show up?” the demon frowns. “Don’t tell me you didn’t think of a plan B, Squirrel. Now, free me.”
“He’s not wrong, Dean. What if the demon doesn’t show? We are running in circles for almost two weeks. I can barely sleep. I imagine all the things those monsters do to Y/N right now.”
“Sammy, can you just not,” the elder hunter starts to pace the motel room, frantically running his fingers through his hair, messing it up. “I don’t want to think about it. She’s tough, but demons are…”
“I get it, Dean. We both spend time in hell,” Sam swallows thickly. He prays the demons will not try to rip you apart as Lucifer did with him. “They need her alive, right? If they want us to cooperate, no one will dare to lay a finger on her.”
“Ya think so?” watching his brother’s poker face crumble Dean clutches his hands to his sides. “I will rip them apart if they dare to touch a hair on Y/N’s head.”
Tumblr media
“You can go home soon, sweetheart,” the demon uses Dean’s pet name for you, making your stomach churn.
You love it when Dean calls you like that, but right now, beaten, bloody, and barely conscious, you wish to never hear the word again. At least not coming from the monster cutting you open.
“Boss, they are at a motel outside of town. Crowley is with them, chained to a chair.”
“Good, get the girl ready,” the demon tosses the bloody knife he used on your body carelessly onto the dirty floor. “But be careful, she can’t die before we got Crowell. After that, you can kill them all.”
The demon leans over your body, grips the edges of the bed tightly. “Sweet Y/N, our time together is over. What a pity.”
“They will kill you,” you spit blood into his face, a victoriously grin on your lips when he loses his composure. He wraps his hand around your throat, begins to add pressure to your windpipe. “Do it, and I’ll haunt your days…”
“No, you will die in front of your fine friends, the Winchesters,” the demon pecks your lips, smirking against your bloody mouth. “Maybe I’ll give them a good show, cut you open and show your heart to them when I rip it out.”
“Do your worst,” you are afraid to die, but the last thing you want to do is to show fear in front of a demon. “I am not afraid to die, bastard.”
Tumblr media
“Hello boys,” Crowley sneers at the demon. “I see you brought me a gift. I’m glad you got the message and decided to play nice.”
“I will rip you apart,” the king of hell threatens. “Do you think Crowley, the king of hell will give up the throne he earned with blood, sweat, and terror?”
“Crowley,” Dean tightens the grip on the demon knife, ready to take any enemy crossing his path down. “This is not about you.”
“Where is Y/N?” Sam takes a step toward the demon, ready to rip him apart with his hands if he must. “We had a deal.”
“We brought Crowley, where is our girl?” Dean points the tip of the demon knife at the demon. “You better didn’t lie, demon scum. I want you to bring her here, right now!”
“Patience, my little ants,” the demon snaps his fingers at one of the minions. “Get me the girl. I want to hold up my end of the deal.”
“When this is over, I will hunt you down and cut you open,” watching his brother take another step toward the demon Sam tries to not give away he can barely tame his wildly beating heart.
“Aw, you believe you will get out of this alive, how cute,” the door of the motel room swings open again, and Dean’s breath hitches in his throat.
The demon pushes you into the room, snickering when you fall to your knees, hissing in pain.
You look like you went through hell. Your clothes are blood-soaked, your face swollen and bloody, and you can barely keep your eyes open.
“Sweetheart,” Dean chokes on his words when you struggle to get back up. “Let me help you, Y/N.”
“There she is, as good as new,” the brothers exchange one look when the demon dares to grip your arm, making you cry out in pain. “A little damage here and there, but nothing serious.”
The demon doesn’t care about what he did to you or that the Winchesters look like they are ready to commit murder.
“Sammy.”
“I’m on it,” while Sam frees Crowley, Dean storms toward the demon holding your arm in a tight grip. “Now, Crowley.”
“Hello, little demons,” the king of hell snaps his fingers, kills your kidnappers’ minions, a smirk on his lips. “Oopsie looks like you are all alone now.”
“He’s ours to take down—” the next moments are a blur to you. Somehow Dean wrestled the demon to the ground and you ended up in Crowley’s arms. “Get her out of here. We will take care of that bastard.”
“With pleasure,” another snap of Crowley’s fingers later you are outside of the motel room, in the backseat of Dean’s car. “I’ll stay here until your knights in shiny armor return.”
“D-ean, S-am?” you whimper in pain. “Sorry—they got me good.” Finally losing consciousness, you hope this is not another dream. You tried to be strong, prayed every day for your friends to find you, but now, you’ve got no strength left.
Tumblr media
“Dean,” Sam must drag his brother off the demon, “he’s dead, okay. You killed him. We got to check on Y/N now.”
“I will…let me,” Dean growls like a feral animal. He still rams the demon knife into the demon’s body, wanting him to feel the pain you felt. “I want him to suffer, Sammy. He touched Y/N! He hurt her!”
“I know, but he’s dead and gone. Dean, we need to take care of her now. Please, help me here. I—I can’t face her on my own,” the younger brother sniffs. “Dean, please…”
“Okay, okay,” looking at the dead demon on the floor Dean exhales a shuddery breath. “We need to check on her.”
The hunter cleans the demon knife at the demon’s shirt, hating he can smell the blood and sulfur all over his hands. It’s been a while since he lost control and now, Dean fears you will be scared of him getting to know he slaughtered the demon hurting you.
“She doesn’t have to know, Dean,” Sam places his hand onto Dean’s shoulder. “Let’s go now.”
Tumblr media
“Careful sweetheart,” Dean holds you gently in his arms while Sam drives you back toward the bunker. It’s the first time Dean asked his brother to drive his beloved car, and Sam, well he agreed. Even though, he wanted to hold you in his arms. “Fuck, we need Cas to heal her, Sammy. Where is he?”
“Castiel said something about looking for God to help us fight the Darkness or something. Honestly, I did not listen,” Sam tries to focus on the street, not you in the backseat, in his brother’s arms.
“Great timing, Cas,” you stir in Dean’s arms. “Easy there, Y/N. Do not move too much. We need to bring you back to the bunker.”
“D-ean?” you whimper. “Sa-mmy too?”
“I’m here, baby girl. Sammy and I are here. We were so worried about you,” you smile up at Dean as you knew, the brothers will find you.
“Knew you’ll find me,” drifting back into sleep you allow yourself to relax in Dean’s arms, knowing you are safe with the brothers. “My heroes.”
Tumblr media
“I know it hurts, but I need to clean the cuts, sweetheart. Sammy will have a look at your foot meanwhile, okay,” Dean carefully cleans your cuts whilst his brother bandages your foot. “We are sorry this happened to you.”
“Dean, that was not your fault,” you pat his hand, hoping the brothers know you would never blame them for anything happening to you over the last weeks. “I should’ve known better. The girl reminded me of someone I knew a few years ago. A homeless girl, a hopeless one…”
“She reminded you of yourself,” Sam watches you and his brother, feeling a pang of jealousy hit him hard. “We got tricked more than once too, Y/N.”
“Do you know what’s funny?” you rest your head against the pillow, closing your eyes. “The girl, she wasn’t a demon. I walked toward my car with her, telling her about me, my past, and that I was homeless a few years ago too.”
“She wasn’t a demon? But—” Dean watches you turn your head away from him, ashamed you let the girl trick you. “What happened?”
“Unfortunately, the demon you killed paid her well. I am so fucking mad,” you slam your fists into the mattress. “It wasn’t enough to her to trick me, no, she had to steal my groceries too, Dean.”
“Sweetheart,” for the first time since you disappeared Dean laughs loudly. Snorts leaves his lips as you are more concerned about the lost food than your condition. “We will get the groceries later, okay.”
“No, I paid for that stuff,” you argue, gesturing wildly at Sam. “I bought Sam’s favorite salad, and pie for you. I even got you the newest issue of Busty Asian’s.”
“Y/N, you are the best,” snickering you watch Dean lean closer to peck your nose. “If not for your injuries, I would hug you right now.”
“Dean, we should focus on her injuries now. Her ankle is bruised, and she has deep cuts all over her body. Y/N needs food, pain meds, and sleep.”
“A word?” Dean jerks his head toward the door. “Now, Sammy.”
“Fine—” the younger brother snaps and you wonder if they fought while you were away. “I’ll be right back, Y/N.”
“Oh—okay.”
Tumblr media
“You can’t do this, Dean,” Sam frowns when his brother lazily leans against the wall. Dean snickers, knowing all too well why his brother got mad at him. “What?”
“You love her, don’t cha?”
“I—uh, erm,” glancing at his feet Sam tries to hide his feeling once again. “I am worried about my friend, is all.”
“Sam, we should stop beating around the bush,” Dean never was the kind of man talking about his feelings or admitting he is in love with someone but right now, he’s got no other choice. “I love Y/N. Most of the time I suppressed my feelings but since she has been gone, I just couldn’t hide it anymore.”
“I love her too,” Sam falls silent for a moment, gives Dean the chance to let his words sink in. “What do we do now, Dean? I want to be with Y/N, but how can we tell her about our feelings?”
“We could try to talk to her and admit our feelings. Everything else is out of our control.”
Tumblr media
“One more for me, sweetheart,” while Dean feeds you with the soup he cooked for you, Sam fluffs another pillow for you. “Made with love.”
“I helped,” Sam adds. “Dean did most of the work, but I helped and, I got the groceries. I promise we will find the girl too.”
“I don’t want her to trick anyone else, is all. I thought about her while the demons tortured me. I was mad at first but now, I pity her. I was her years ago, but I had Bobby. He saved me and then, I met you,” you gently touch Dean’s hand. “My best friends. My heroes. My tall lumberjacks.”
“You love our plaids,” you nod eagerly. It’s no secret that you love to steal plaids from Sam or Dean. “…and to steal them.”
“We should talk about a few things,” Sam takes your hand to place a soft kiss on your knuckles. “While you were away Dean and I realized that we love you.”
“I love you too,” you pat Sam’s arm, smiling up at your friend. “You know I love the both of you. It’s not a secret.”
“No, I mean…shit,” watching his brother fight to find the right words, Dean smirks. “Dean, maybe you could help me out.”
You nod dumbly, still not getting what Sam means. You always talked about liking each other. The Winchesters are family to you since you met them and you love them dearly.
“Sweetheart,” Dean takes your hand to place it against his heart. “Sam and I, we love you.”
“You love me both? —Oh,” you feel your heart flutter at Dean’s words. You never dared to dream one of the brothers could ever requite your feelings, and now, both just admitted their love.
While the brothers look at you in awe, waiting for your reply, you tell yourself in your mind 'It’s okay to love them both' over and over again before you find your voice.
“I love you too...both...”

Kai Parker x Female Reader/Character
Word Count: 1918
Warnings: typical tvd themes, S.Assault hints, crying, soft kai, a lil boob touching, Stephan drives her off a bridge
Summary: She finds out the real story of what happened to her after a near-death experience. Kai agrees to comfort her in her own way.
(I wrote this with “she/her” instead of “V” because this is the last part I’ll be writing as a series, the rest will be written as one shot’s with she/her pronouns because if I continue to work on the series it’ll become an entire novel. So instead of writing a novel, I’ll just write the big plot points as one shots after this)
Another couple of weeks had passed since their ritual. Almost every day that would pass, they would go out and look for answers for what they saw and would come up empty handed.
One day they finally found something that could lead them to another lead for answers – an ancient necklace that was owned by a witch in her distant bloodline that could allow her to connect with the original owner. The only problem was that the necklace was worn religiously around Elena’s neck as a gift from Stephan.
That wasn’t really a problem for her. She didn’t really like Elena much, and Elena didn’t like her, but it wasn’t hard to get close enough to grab it since they both hung out with the same people.
That’s exactly what she did. She kept it with her for a week, waiting for a specific celestial event to happen for the spell all while dodging calls from Stephan and Elena accusing her of taking it.
She took to the woods by herself on the night before the celestial event to find the perfect spot under the moon to preform it. Just as she was about to make her way off the trail she was struck by a tranquilizing dart in her neck, knocking her out cold.
She woke up in the passenger seat of Stephan’s car, “oh, good, you’re up,” he said shutting his phone off.
Her vision was blurry, but she knew who it was and was annoyed to say the least.
“Have you seen Elena’s necklace?” He asked as if he already knew.
She blinked to focus her vision, “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she rubbed her eyes.
Stephan leaned in, “here’s what’s gonna happen… you’re either going to tell me where it is, hand it over, or I’m going to hold you here until you do.”
“You’re really about to do all this for a damn necklace?” she asked, still very annoyed.
They went back and forth for a while about how it’s “Elena’s necklace,” and how crazy Stephan was to host a hostage situation over it before he turned the car on, “ok, you don’t wanna tell me where it is, fine,” he slammed on the gas, “you’ve been a cosmic pain in everyone’s ass since you showed up in Mystic Falls by the way. We’re trying to rid the town of chaos and mischief and here you come…”
Stephan was driving at what seemed to be over 100 miles an hour with a crazy look in his eye, “so nobody wants to tell me where it is, I’ll drive you off the bridge and find it myself,” he spat.
“You’re bluffing. You wouldn’t drive someone off a bridge over a damn necklace, Stephan, plus if I do have it, you’d be losing your chance to get it back if you do,” she said unphased by his threat.
“That’s only if nobody wants to tell me. It’s really no sweat off my back if you live or die but… hey maybe Kai knows where it is,” he said as if he had just thought of the most iconic solution and dialed Kai’s phone.
As they approached the bridge, she began to take his threat more seriously. All she heard was muffled noises as adrenaline of being driven off a bridge kicked in.
She yelled panicked knowing Kai was on the phone, “Kai just tell him where the stupid necklace is he’s gonna drive me off the bridge.”
“Too late,” Stephan muttered with a smirk as the car flew into the water after he jumped out.
She tried to roll her window down before the car hit the water and was fully submerged, but Stephan had the window locks on, so she had to crawl over to the driver’s side to roll it down, throwing her against the wind shield and knocking her unconscious again as she got the window halfway down.
Just like the time she held her breath and an unknown entity came over her when she rescued Enzo, the same thing happened here. While she was unconscious the car fully submerged into the water for minutes until the entity awoke her and struggled to break the window open through the slowness of the water.
She remembered none of this. She awoke on the rocks only remembering being driven off the bridge and a replay of the things that had happened to her that Kai made her forget.
She sat there coughing up water and trying to catch her breath as the replays engrained themselves deeper. She knew she couldn’t deal with it right now though, she needed to get back to the motel for the necklace, so she started walking her way back to the road.
She walked expressionless until Kai drove up beside her and got out,
“What happened,” he asked throwing his hands up as he walked towards her.
“I don’t know, Stephan threw a fit about the necklace and thought it was reasonable to drive me and his car off the bridge,” she said silent and expressionless, darting her eyes not to look into Kai’s.
Kai looked at her, realizing that for the first time in probably forever, he was pissed about something because it had happened to somebody he cares about, but he still didn’t know what to say other than, “well, are you okay,” silently kicking himself for asking after he realized how big what happened was compared to the question he asked.
“Yeah, I just wanna get back,” she mumbled and went to open the door, but Kai grabbed it quicker.
She was silent the whole way back, something that was unusual for her normally.
They drove into the parking lot of their motel and Kai stopped her before she could open the door by grabbing her arm, “hey, are you good,” he asked, “you didn’t say anything the entire way back and you love to talk.”
She was still expressionless, “I’m good, I just need a minute,” her voice was almost robotic.
“Talk to me…” Kai tried to speak but was cut off.
“I’m about to freak out, and it’s not gonna be cute,” she spoke with a little more seriousness to her robotic tone, “so just give me a minute,” she began to walk towards their room.
He had never seen her like this before. They would usually make jokes the whole night whenever something that would typically be traumatic happened, but this time she seemed as though she was here physically but elsewhere mentally.
She made a beeline to the bathroom before Kai called out “let me know if I can do any—” she shut the door, “—thing.”
She stood at the sink and placed her hands on it to steady her balance as things began to look blurry and lightheaded. She tried rubbing her eyes to make the feeling go away but it kept getting stronger as her chest felt heavier, head felt heavier, and memories of that night months before screamed at her.
Kai leaned on the doorframe to hear what was going on but couldn’t hear anything.
She stood, taking deep breaths before it got increasingly harder to breath and gave into the onset hyperventilation and inevitable tears.
Kai knocked but she didn’t answer so he opened the door to find her with her hands in her hair, breathing fast, with a concerned expression.
She didn’t even hear him walk in at first until she felt a presence behind her as he went to touch her arm. She sat on her knees slowly before Kai could touch her, “Kai I can’t breathe,” he sat on his knees in front of her and put his hand on her head, unsure of what to say.
Grabbing his wrist to pull his hand into her lap, gripping it tightly she put her other hand on her chest and coughed, “I can’t breathe…. Why can’t I breathe…” she let the tears fall before placing her arms over her head and leaned forward until she was leaning against her elbows on the floor so she could catch her breath without having Kai see her cry.
Kai gripped her shoulders and pushed her up to look at him. She covered her mouth with one hand and squeezed her eyes tight, trying to return back to the position he moved her from before he stopped her by keeping his hands on her shoulders, “tell me what happened,” he spoke softly, gently removing the hand she had over her mouth.
“I remembered everything—” she sobbed harder and put her hand back over her mouth, leaning into Kai, “tell me it didn’t really happen,” she sobbed.
Kai knew what she was talking about now and pulled her to lean against the wall with her head on his chest as she sobbed more.
“Tell me I’m making stuff up, or that Stephan has sick humor, tell me someth—” she couldn’t finish her sentence before burying her face back into Kai.
He stared at the wall in front of him as if he could feel what she was feeling, “I can’t,” he whispered, causing her sobs to get louder,
“That couldn’t have happened… I wouldn’t have let that happen… it couldn’t have been me, maybe I just witnessed—”
He wrapped his arms tightly around her as she hid her face in her hands on his chest, “it did, V… I’m sorry, I wish I could tell you different… I’m sorry…” he had a look of remorse as she moved her hand to her scalp as if to cover her ears from what he was saying and placed his hand in her hair with her.
“I gave you different memories, I didn’t want you to remember but something must have triggered it earlier…” he spoke fast and buried his forehead onto the top of her head when she kept sobbing harder, “I should’ve been there…”
“What do you need me to do? Tell me and I’ll do it, anything… let me make it better,” he rubbed his hand on her back to comfort her, but she was too lost in her mind to notice, “you can’t make it better,” she cried.
He sat with her and let her cry until she couldn’t anymore before taking her to their bed.
She pulled his arm as she laid down or else, he wouldn’t have know if he should lay beside her or not. This whole situation was completely new to him, and he only wanted to make it better but had no idea how.
She laid on her side and pulled his arm around her for comfort.
Kai buried his face in her hair by her ear, “what can I do?” he asked again.
“Make me feel something else…” she teared up again.
“What do you mean?” he whispered and rubbed his hand on her upper arm.
“All I can feel is their hands on me and I cant get rid of it,” she choked up, “so maybe if I feel yours instead—” she placed her hand over her face to avoid crying again.
“shh… it’s okay,” Kai whispered surprisingly sweet and kissed her hair, “where do you want ‘em?”
She lifted herself up to place an arm under her neck, laying her head in the crease of his arm and slid the other to her chest.
She fell asleep as Kai gently rubbed from her chest to her stomach repeatedly, occasionally kissing her hair in between.

Game Night Confession Part 3
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Kai are ready to take your relationship a step further. Turning over a new leaf comes with some consequences though and trouble strikes the town.
Word Count: 3,364 (Its a long one folks)
Warnings: Swearing, temporary character deaths, angst, basic TVD violence
You and Kai had been dating for a few months now and you were ready to ask him the question. You both were close enough now in your relationship anyway with the apartment so there were no more noise complaints from Elena or the Salvatores. Not that they had much room to judge. Kai was in the kitchen making breakfast and he greeted you over his shoulder when you made the floorboards creak in the hallway.
"Morning baby girl, I made breakfast. Figured I'd surprise you and let you sleep in."
"Awww thanks, it smells delicious," you gave him a hug from behind and snatched a piece of bacon off the plate. "Mmmm," you moaned, bacon was truly a gift from heaven.
Kai looked over at you and grinned, "I'm glad you like it."
Kai absolutely loved making you happy. Knowing this gave you confidence in asking him for things and having heavy conversations. You loved him more than anything and he, you.
"Kai?" he raised his eyebrows, encouraging you to continue your question.
"Will you turn me?"
"You know I already love turning you, but maybe not with pancakes on the stove," he winked playfully.
"That's not what I meant," you giggled and ran your hand up his arm onto his bare chest, "Will you turn me?"
Kai froze, the pancake sizzling after just being turned over.
"Pleeeeease," you stuck your lip out, batting your puppy eyes at him.
He stood for a moment, his lips pursed. "Yes."
"EEEEK!" You squealed.
"But-"
You stopped squealing, you knew there would be something he demanded in return and you were ready to give him whatever he wanted.
"I want to surprise you when I kill you. I'll give you my blood but I won't tell you when or where, it'll be fun. I promise it won't be anything too painful. It will be quick." You felt nervous for a second but pure euphoria overtook the feeling in a heartbeat as you realized just how close you were to spending eternity with the love of your life.
"So for almost 24 hours you're going to let me live with the anxiety and suspense of dying unexpectedly?"
"Yep," he tilted his head studying your reaction to his proposal.
"Alright." you stood on your tiptoes and planted a kiss on his lips.
"Mmmmmmm" he hummed against your lips, breaking the kiss with a smile, "Is my baby ready for breakfast?"
You bit your lip trying to contain the joy screaming through your veins, "Yes! And thank you babe, for breakfast and for saying yes."
"Anything for my baby girl," he winked and set the plates of food down on the table. You blushed, hearing him call you baby girl always sent butterflies into your stomach. The nickname would never get old and you absolutely loved it. There was an excellent mood in the atmosphere as you both finished off breakfast. He cut his hand open and squeezed blood into a glass cup for you. The fluid looked so beautiful in the sunlight ad you grabbed the cup slowly, taking in what was about to happen. Raising the glass to your lips you squeezed your eyes shut, letting the iron flavored drink enter your body. Kai admired how fragile and beautiful you looked sitting there drinking his blood. It was weirdly attractive to see you like this. Standing up you head over to the bedroom doorway and look back with a devious smile.
"I'm going to shower, care to join?"
"Love to." Kai grinned back with lustful eyes.
--------Later at Lunch--------
"Y/N you can't be serious! This is not a life you want." Elena harshly whispered in the restaurant.
"I think it would be interesting to see you as a vampire," Damon said cooly but changed his tone and sat up when Elena shot him a glare, "Elena has a point though." He pulled her closer with his arm around her shoulder as a make-shift apology.
"Come on Damon, weren't you the least bit excited when Elena became a vampire so you could spend eternity together?" The couple looked at each other but remained silent.
"I think it's a good idea and I support you," Caroline stated. Elena's jaw dropped upon hearing Caroline of all people support you on this decision.
"Thank you Care! Thank you!" you leaned over and wrapped your arms around her in a hug. Caroline rested her chin on your head, "But Y/N?"
You looked up as she continued, "Just be careful okay?"
"I am, I know what I'm doing. Now all of you know not to be surprised if Kai kills me while I'm with you."
"Whatever." Elena mumbled and shook her head sliding out of the booth. Damon followed her lead but gave you a quick thumbs up and wink before disappearing. You were so excited, nobody could or should ever feel this way about being killed but to you it meant something different. Dear god, am I a psychopath for wanting this?
Stepping out of the grill, an arm wrapped around your throat and pulled you back. Instinct kicking in, your hands flew to grip the arm. You recognized the fabric and felt relief knowing what would soon be happening. Caroline looked on with a look of concern and possibly disgust on her face. With one swift movement his hand was on the side of your head and the world went black.
You woke up on the sofa in your apartment. Your head pounded, your lips felt cracked and your throat hurt like you hadn't drank anything in days.
"Good Morning sunshine," Kai grinned hopping off the barstool. He walked into the kitchen and grabbed a couple blood bags. "Here, drink up. You need it."
You fumbled and opened the blood bag as swiftly as you could. You could feel the black veins on your face appear. Downing the first bag in a minute you ripped open the second one and wolfed it down as well. You gave a sigh of relief as the headache and pain faded away. You must have been out for a couple hours, based on the amount of sunlight making its way in. It was almost sunset.
"Better?"
"Much." You smiled, everything felt so much more heightened. Tears started to fall down your face, "Oh Kai..."
Kai's face scrunched up in concern, "What is it baby girl?"
"I love you so much," you sobbed.
Relief crossed his face as he understood what was happening. "Your emotions are heightened right now with the change but soon you'll have them under control."
You nodded and leaned forward to hug Kai's waist who was now standing over you. His arms wrapped around you and he rubbed your back which he knew always helped calm you down. His hand traveled to your chin to tilt it up so you were looking at him.
"Baby?" he wiped the last tear off your cheek/
"Yes?" you whimpered.
"How about we go out and celebrate tonight?" your brows furrowed at his proposal. Kai noticing your look continued, "I don't mean let's go and feed off people, I mean let's celebrate and go out to eat." He tilted his head waiting for your reaction.
You stood and wrapped your arms around his neck, "Yes! Yes I would love that!"
"Good," Kai smacked your butt, "Now go get ready princess."
Kai watched you skip off to the bedroom and smiled, his heart soaring at being able to spend forever with you.
-----------Later that Night-------------
You were so angry, you could hear the bartender's heart pounding and her blood, delicious blood coursing through her veins as she continued to beam at Kai. You glared and cleared your throat, catching the blonde's attention. Upon catching your look she huffed and turned away to check on another attractive brunet down the row. Kai turned and studied your face bemusedly.
"What?" you tried to shake off the look but it was too late.
"Are you- jealous?" he smirked.
"Ugh, I- I am not jealous. I just need some air."
Kai cocked an eyebrow, "O-kay."
Stepping into the alleyway you took a big swallow of the cool night air. It was only 8 but it already felt so late. You started to pace, taking your frustration out on the trash.
"I am not jealous, especially of some stupid blonde," you grunted and kicked a bottle hard sending it smashing against a brick wall. The back door of the bar opened and you jumped, expecting someone to come out yelling about the racket. Instead the blonde bartender stepped out a little too coolly, moving almost mechanically.
"What are you doing here?" you snapped.
"I don't know. This guy told me to come out here and for some reason I listened." She looked puzzled and your curiosity started to grow.
"Was it the guy I was with?"
"No. It was some other guy."
"What else did this guy say?" You inquired, allowing yourself to walk closer and closer to her.
"He told me not to scream." The girls voice trembled with this sentence.
Dear god. She had the most beautiful throat, you don't know how you missed it before. If only you could have a taste. No. You promised Caroline to be careful, you were a new vampire with limited restraint. You wanted to kill her. With every fiber of your being you wanted to drink her body dry. Almost as if she were reading your mind she tilted her head, moving her hair and exposing her neck more. Slowly she took a knife out of her apron and brought it to her throat.
"No! Don-"
But your plea was cut short when you saw the bright red liquid start to dribble down. You could feel your eyes change and teeth pop out. With a hiss you lunged toward her, sinking your fangs into her warm beating flesh. After drinking for so long, you entered an almost drunk like state. Stumbling back to your apartment, you manage to shower and clean yourself up, tossing the dirty clothes in the trash before finally passing out in bed.
Meanwhile back in the alleyway, Kai storms out looking for you.
"Y/N?" He stops walking when his shoes squelch. "Oh shit..." He looks down to see the dead blonde bartender from earlier, blood surrounding her neck which looked like it had been sloppily torn open. Black veins appear under his eyes and he looks up fast, taking a sharp breath in. After gaining control of himself, he covers his mouth and nose with his shirt diving in to clean up the mess you made.
"They're going to freak when they hear about this," he muttered, dragging the girl backwards down the alleyway.
You woke up with sunlight streaming onto your face making you groan and pull the sheets up.
"Good morning sleepy head." A husky voice drawled.
You froze, afraid to look at the guest in your home. "What are you doing here?" You asked, blanket muffling your question.
"Heard you had a wild one last night, just wanted to stop by and uhh ya know, check on my buddy."
Smiling painfully you pulled the blanket down to see Damon sitting on a chair across your room.
"I don't know what you mean."
Damon's fake smile disappeared and he frowned.
"Kai called last night after you 'stepped out for air' and he found a dead blonde in the alleyway."
You stifled a groan and he continued, "But that wasn't all, nooooo you had to go and continue the party of one around town."
"What?" Your nose wrinkled. You remembered drinking from the bartender and coming home, not going around town. "I did not do that Damon, you have to believe me."
"I don't." He snapped, "I believe your bloody clothes you half ass attempted to shove down the garbage disposal." He shook his head in disbelief.
You groaned and plopped your head back down onto the pillow.
"Alright, I drank blood from the blonde but I didn't hurt anyone else, I swear! I came right home and tried to clean up."
"You killed her, Y/N. There are three other dead people around town and you don't think that looks a little suspicious considering the circumstances?"
You paused, a look of grief sat on your face. The bedroom door opened and Stefan peered in, Kai leaning over his shoulder,
"Knock knock." Stefan called.
"Just go in Steven. Geez." Kai said exasperated, making you chuckle.
Damon's stern face cut your laugh short.
Stefan stepped in and turned to glare at Kai, "I don't know what Kai was thinking taking you out when you've just turned and still need to learn to control your bloodlust."
"I didn't kill all those people, you know." You cut in gravely.
Just then it dawned on you, the girl. You sat up quickly and grabbed your head in pain. It was like having a hangover with booze and blood. Ugh.
"Guys the bartender last night, she was acting weird."
"Yeah because death by vampire is a little weird." Damon rolled his eyes.
"No, I'm serious. The way she came out into the alleyway. Someone compelled her to come out, she said she wasn't allowed to scream and then she cut her own throat to get me to feed from her."
The Salvatore brothers stiffened and looked at each other.
"What? Do you two know something?" You looked between them frantically.
Stefan looked down and asked, "Did she say who compelled her?"
"Some guy in the bar but nothing else."
Damon ran his hand through his hair and blew out air, "I think we need to have a talk with someone."
Stefan nodded in agreement and in a flash, the Salvatore brothers had left your apartment. You looked pointedly at Kai who was now standing in the middle of your shared room. He shrugged his shoulder signaling to you that he had no idea what was going on. Huffing, you pushed yourself out of bed and walked past him to the kitchen. You needed a strong coffee for a day like this.
-------------------------------------
"ENZO!" Damon bellowed,
Stefan followed Damon into the boarding house, ready to acknowledge the guest who had been staying with them recently.
"Hello there." Enzo stepped out from the kitchen wiping his bloody hands.
Stefan raised his eyebrows at the sight and Damon cleared his throat.
"Oh- sorry about the mess I was just prepping dinner." He smiled innocently.
"Cut the crap Enzo." Damon snapped, Enzo's smile remained plastered on unnaturally.
"What's the matter, Damon? You look like you've had a very busy night."
Stefan stepped forward, "Come on, we know what you did. Stop stalling."
Throwing the towel down the vampire sped over to Stefan, "You know what I did huh?" He sneered.
"You lot have known how I feel about Y/N. Since the beginning and I thought by now you would have gotten rid of the Parker bastard. So what did you do mate?" He spit out.
Damon put his hand between Enzo's and Stefan's chests to calm them down. Enzo had been Damon's friend long ago and he was still willing to stick up for Enzo and give him the benefit of the doubt.
"Okay, but why frame Y/N for this?" Damon shook his head in question.
"If I can't have her, then Parker shouldn't either. She'll leave him when she realizes he can't help her. I'll just keep going until she breaks."
"We can't let you do this," Stefan started to grab Enzo's shirt when Enzo vampire sped behind him and snapped his neck.
"Now what? Are you going to try and stop me too?"
Damon bit his lip and grimaced at his words. Enzo had been in love with Y/N's doppelganger long ago. This fact that she was a doppelganger was unknown to her and the Salvatores had hoped to keep it that way. But with Enzo's new fury and determination to have her, things could be taking a turn for the worst. Without another word, Enzo stormed out of the house leaving a dead Stefan and a conflicted Damon. A few hours later Stefan woke up to find Damon sitting by the fireplace in his chair drinking his favorite bourbon.
"Augh" Stefan groaned, "Did you stop him?"
Damon remained stoic for a minute before responding, "No. I froze. He used to be my only friend." He swirled his drink looking down into it for answers.
"I get that he used to be your friend, I do. But we can't let him do this to Kai and Y/N. It's not fair. So you need to help me and our friends come up with a plan to stop him."
Damon furrowed his eyebrows and looked up, "Okay."
--------------At your apartment-----------
Enzo had been watching your apartment for a while now. Waiting for the man he so despised to leave and give you two time alone. At long last, Kai stepped out into the crisp night and headed off into the darkness. Waiting until he was clear out of sight, Enzo stepped out of his car adjusting his shirt and pulling the lively bouquet of flowers out.
"Ding dong," Enzo called out, knocking on your front door.
You creaked the door open slightly to see who it was, the door chain stopping you from opening it much further.
"Who are you?" You raised your eyebrow. Kai had told you not to let anyone in while he was out getting more blood bags.
"My name is Lorenzo St. John but you can call me Enzo." He smiled.
"Okay Enzo...And what brings you to my apartment?"
"Well darling, I thought it was time we were properly introduced. Do you mind if I come in?"
"Okay..." you said hesitantly. You closed the door to slide the latch over and opening it slowly, allowed Enzo to stride in like a gentleman.
"I brought you flowers," he held them out for you to grab.
You smiled at him with a curious look in your eyes, "Thanks. I'll go put these in a vase."
He followed you to the kitchen, looking around and taking in all that was your apartment. Digging around under the sink you finally found the curvy glass vase that you always wanted to use. Your anxiety started to build. Why is Kai taking so long? He should be back by now. Something about Enzo seemed off to you and you prayed that Kai would be home soon to help you deal with the charming stranger. You were itching to reach for you phone on the side table but knew that if Enzo suspected something was up then he might do something rash. Turning to face him you crossed your arms to find him seated comfortably at your table. A little too comfortably.
"Can I get you something to drink?"
"Do you have any blood bags, love?"
"No, sorry." You smiled weakly, "My boyfriend went out to get some more."
Enzo raised his eyebrows begrudgingly, of course you would mention your boyfriend. "I'll take a beer then."
"Sure thing." He rolled his eye as you turned to the fridge.
Speeding up behind you, he grabbed you around the throat and whispered, "Sorry about this, love." All went black.
When Kai arrived home he found the front door open. Panic rose in his chest as he yelled out for you.
"Y/N! Y/N?! Princess this isn't funny, where are you?"
Walking into the kitchen he found the fridge door wide open. He shoved the grocery bag full of blood bags in a shut it quickly. Speeding around, he checked the entire house but you were no where to be found. He ran his hands through his hair and that's when the vase caught his eye. A vase full of fresh flowers and a note attached.
For the most beautiful of all flowers and with much adoration,
Love, Enzo
Growling, Kai crumpled the note in his hand. He was going to rip this man to shreds when he found him. No one gets to take you from him. You were his and his alone.

Favorite City, Favorite Day
Elijah Mikaelson x Female!Reader
Prompts: “Since you’re visiting if I’m correct, why not let me show you around?”, “For the sake of curiosity, are you seeing anyone?”, and “You still have that gift from me? I figured you’d have thrown it away by now.” “No, I never would.”
Word Count: 1.5k
Summary: After half a century, you return to New Orleans, to feel the nostalgia of your favorite city, celebrate your favorite day, and encounter your favorite person.
A/N: My first TVD/TO fic is about Elijah! One of my favorite characters ever! I’ve been wanting to write during Spring break and here I am, publishing it on the first day after the break. Enjoy!
New Orleans had not changed.
As you took your first step back in the famous French Quarter, you immediately felt the feeling of home overwhelm you with vast joy and nostalgia. From left to right, there were colorful lights and ecstatic people, making what New Orleans was famous for: the busy yet festiveness day and nightlife.
One thing you probably noticed is how much more people there were today than the last time you were here, which was ages ago.
Somehow, Marcel and Klaus, the co-kings of the city, had brought in more people to the city, boosting its attraction level, which made you wonder how they did it.
But despite having a more crowded place, you could still tell who were supernaturals and who weren’t around the areas. As you continued walking, you observed the body languages of the people around you, scanning to see the vampires walking around.
These were the men who were most loyal to the co-kings of New Orleans, taking precautions around the surroundings, making sure they were doing their jobs well by being the eyes of Marcel and Klaus when they were not around the busy nightlife.
Too concentrated in finding more supernaturals around you, you accidentally collided into someone in front of you, feeling the glass they were holding spill on them.
“Oh my goodness, I’m so-”, “I hope I didn’t create much damage on your Armani suit,” you rephrased cooly, changing your emotional reaction as you saw who you collided into.
Elijah Mikaelson withdrew a handkerchief from his breast pocket, still not looking at you, dabbed his suit with the handkerchief, concentrating on the spill. “For having a good eye on my suit, think nothing of the spill, dear.”
Finally, he looked up, creating an astonished look on his eyes but a joyful smile on his face as he realized who he bumped into.
“I’d ask you to buy me a drink but this really isn’t my favorite part of the Quarter,” you smiled, trying to contain your happiness. But it was hard. “Oh, hello, old friend,” you laughed, finally wrapping your arms around Elijah, who hugged you back, chuckling along with you. “Y/N,” was all he said, but with pure delight in his voice, sounding like a person he hasn’t seen in almost a thousand years.
When you both pulled away, you looked at him from top to bottom, nodding in agreement with what you were thinking, “You, old friend, are looking ageless as ever,” you joked, earning a pleased smile from him.
“Likewise, darling,” he returned your compliment, “I take it that it’s been half a century already since you’ve last stepped foot into your favorite city?”
You nodded in agreement, “Yet nothing has barely changed here,” you noticed, looking around the street then back at him.
Elijah had a bright look on his face, hoping you were also talking about him, “Since you’re visiting if I’m correct, why not let me show you around?” he asked.
“Well if it isn’t a bother,” you cheekily smiled, “I’d love that,” you said, happily shrugging.
The noble Mikaelson beamed, gesturing for your hand which you gave said, “Wonderful.”
--
This evening couldn’t get any better.
There wasn’t a single specific destination yet that Elijah wanted to take you. At the moment, he was simply taking you for a stroll around the beautiful nightlife of New Orleans.
Ever since the moment he first asked if he could show you around, your hand and his have never parted, as they were holding each other tightly without notice from the two of you.
The two of you had forgotten how loud New Orleans could be at night considering the fact that the two of you were only considering each other’s presence, trying to contain the adoration and affections you two have secretly had for each other.
“So tell me, Y/N,” Elijah continued the easy conversation you two were having, “How has life outside New Orleans been responding to you?”
“You mean life without you?” you smoothly rephrased his question. He grinned, looking directly in front of the street you two were walking on, trying to hide his growing blush on his face. “I’m just kidding,” you reassured him, “It’s been quite adventurous, but of course you were missing all the fun I could have shared with you.”
Elijah nodded, furrowing his eyebrows as he imagined your life without him, “You may be true but there could have been a chance of me depriving you of your happiness considering I tend to presume a day would go terrible if I’m not with Niklaus.”
You shook your head, denying his statement, “Any day would be terrible with Klaus with or without you,” you joked, “But kudos to him and Marcel,” you said, “They’ve made New Orleans more notable than when I was last here.”
“You may want to know though that they terribly miss you. We all do. I do,” Elijah softly said.
“I feel the same way too, ‘Lijah,” you admitted, “Life was so much different without you. I’m really glad nothing’s happened to you much in a way where I don’t have to go into a state of distress with the drama that gets you involved!”
He chuckled to himself, approving your words whole-heartedly. Then suddenly, his face changed, he began looking at you with a serious note. He stopped his walking, which you quickly took in and did the same.
“Forgive me, Y/N,” he said sincerely, “For the sake of curiosity, are you seeing anyone?”
Your serious face that you have developed after seeing Elijah’s suddenly melted into a burst of laughter, causing him to tense down a bit with a smile too, “Seriously, Elijah?” you asked, still laughing. It was only a few seconds after when you eased down and took a halt at your laughing. “Sorry, but you got me so serious for such a lightweight question.”
You exhaled, “No, I’m not seeing anyone,” you admitted, seeing that from his body language that he had mellowed down, feeling relieved from the softness of his eyes. “I take it that you’re somehow satisfied with that answer,” you teased, nudging his shoulder, which low-key served as a way to withdraw the sudden feelings you were containing.
Elijah looked down smiling, retrieving something from the inner pocket of his suit and began saying, “You’re right, and I also wanted to give you something with good intentions in mind.”
He slowly extracted a wrapped gift, which had ribbons of your second favorite color, wrapped around gift wrappings of your first favorite color. “Do you remember what happened on this day half a century ago?”
You slowly nodded, still looking at the gift, “Yes, I gave you a map of the world, telling you which places in the world I wanted to see.”
“Correct, and inside this gift is the exact same thing, but with my wrappings now.”
Elijah handed the gift over to you, which you rapidly but satisfyingly unwrapped the wrappings from, seeing the map you had given him, still in the same quality from the last time you saw it. The memories that had happened that day overflooded your mind, getting you to recall yourself telling Elijah the sequence of places you were going to see. Oh, you were so excited to see the world.
“You still have this gift from me?” you said, looking up with a sweet and soft smile, “I figured you’d have thrown it away by now.”
Elijah strongly shook his head, “No, I never would,” he denied, “And now that you’re here, perhaps you could use it to tell me which places I could have seen with you.”
Before you could tell him how much you agree on his idea, he suddenly added, “Adding to that, perhaps you could see a significant change in me.”
“What would that be?” you curiously asked.
Elijah exhaled and said, “Considering that you’re not seeing anyone, would you give me the honor and finally request the pleasure of your company whenever you’re free for a delightful time with me?”
There were suddenly butterflies in your stomach as you heard the question you’ve been dying for Elijah to ask you your whole life. You could tell you were smiling like a child but nevertheless, you nodded with cheerfulness, “I couldn’t be more happy, Elijah.”
“Not to be too forward though,” you continued, “But I think now’s the perfect time. We’re surrounded by my favorite city’s nightlife and, I don’t know if you’ve forgotten but, today’s a special day for me.”
Elijah took a step closer to you and slowly kissed you on the forehead, hearing your heartbeat beat faster, which made him even smile more. When he pulled back from the soft and light kiss he placed, he looked you in the eyes and said, “I could never forget your special day,” which got you to grin, “Happy birthday, my darling.” he greeted.
“Thank you, ‘Lijah,” you thanked him.
“Shall we?” he asked, “I’d like to take you to your favorite part of the Quarter.”
“We shall,” you said, linking your hand with his as you began strolling the street again together, in your favorite place, during your favorite day.

I have a prompt for you if you can. Not sure if you watch Legacies, there’s an episode where Lizzie makes a wish to a Jinn that Hope is never born. In this alternate universe, Lizzie won the Merge, Klaus flipped his switch 2 years ago in grief and started a war with the humans leading to Triad publicly hunting all supernaturals. Enemy #1 is Klaus and his vampire wife Caroline Mikaelson. I’d like to see a Klaroline fic of this AU please.
Prompt part 2. I have some personal thoughts on this alternative universe but itS totally up to you if you go with them or if you come up with your own. No Hope means no Hayley, means no Elijah dying. So why was Klaus grieving? No Hope means back in TVD S4 the witches had no way of luring him to NO so he stayed in MF eventually wearing Caroline down into a relationship. Josie and Lizzie were like his daughters and when they merged he and Caroline both flipped the switch in grief of Josie.
 Tears Will Never Dry (angsty)
“I failed them.” Her voice was so small and defeated. Curled up as she was in the armchair, Caroline looked blankly out the window. Though she had a perfect view of Bonnie talking through some witchy herbs with a despondent Lizzie out in the courtyard, her eyes didn’t seem to register. It was like she wasn’t even there.
Klaus, who once proudly professed he had no heart, felt something break inside him for he knew nothing could truly comfort her. He had failed her. So he offered what little he could, what he held onto when she was so far away. “You love them so completely, you could never fail them,” he vowed, and he’d never meant something so much. It took all his strength not to pull her into his arms, to close the distance she wrapped around herself so tightly. “You will help Lizzie through this, and—” The lump in his throat made it hard to speak, not that he could bring himself to say the name she cried in her sleep. “—you loved her to the end.”
Tears trickled down her crumpled face. “It’s not supposed to happen that way,” she croaked. “Mom and Dad loved me to the end, too. Their ends. Now, I have to live with her being gone. Forever.”
It used to be a promise between them, sweet and tempting; on her tongue, the word sounded sour. Helpless and desperate, Klaus kneeled  at her feet. He pressed his mouth to her knee, hands wrapped around her legs like a lifeline. “Tell me what I can do. Please, sweetheart. Let me help.”
Blinking down at him, she let her fingers card through his hair. Her smile was sad, apologetic. “It just hurts so much.”
And he knew it was too late.
The club was a dangerous idea. They were meant to be in hiding, and it defied sense to flaunt their return to New Orleans in a favorite haunt. But the girls were having fun, and Klaus was loathe to break up the party with sense.
He was tucked into the quietest corner of the VIP lounge, high above the din. Lizzie and Caroline, meanwhile, danced in the crush of the crowd, the pounding beat far too much for even a vampire’s ears. They laughed as they bumped into each other, and a smile curled his lips. It was good to be home.
Their little family was still grieving Josie’s loss after two years, each in their own way. Caroline preferred enjoying the lighter side of life, aided by a lack of human sensibilities. Lizzie alternated between reveling in her magic and loathing it for the too dear cost, just as she hated her mother for flipping the switch and loved having her as more of a friend. Klaus...
Klaus was just trying to keep the game interesting.
“Careful, friend,” Marcel warned, offering him a fresh drink as he dropped into the next chair. “Your humanity is showing.”
“She’s not paying me any mind, we can speak freely.” He turned to his old friend, a son that was lost and found, then lost and found again. How he wished he could grant such a miracle to Caroline. “Tell me about Triad.”
Clenching his glass, Marcel looked grim. “My nightwalkers keep disappearing, and even the ones with the GIft,” he murmured with laden meaning, since vampires had learned to hoard the secret of lapis lazuli and the safety it provided, “have mentioned being followed. Davina hasn’t risen far in the ranks of the organization yet, but she thinks a big move is in the works.”
He grit his teeth. “And?”
“The ‘vampire wife’ is whispered around the place. Often.”
It was a fight to loosen the tension in his body, but a necessary one. He raised a toast to Caroline, who tried to coax him out to the dance floor. He shook his head, charming enough so as not to rouse her suspicion. “I assume a kidnapping then.”
“At the least,” Marcel agreed. “Whether they want information from her or to use her against you, torture is to be expected. The switch might be a benefit to her if it comes to that—”
"It won't." His tone was final, even as he held his smirk. The ladies were too busy laughing off those bold men trying to dance with them to read him from afar. "She's been through enough."
Noticeably quiet, Marcel just sipped his drink.
“What, Marcellus?” Klaus bit out.
With a measured glance toward him, he shrugged. “The switch... She’s not really going through anything, and she hasn’t for years now. And thinking you’ve flipped yours, too? You’ve created a comfortable little world for her to avoid the pain, maintaining it to keep her safe without her knowing. What happens when the illusion shatters?”
He gave a careless flip of his hand. “She can’t turn it off twice.”
“If you say so.”
It wasn’t a new argument to Klaus, not when Stefan, Bonnie, Elijah — even Rebekah — had implored him to rethink his grand strategy for Caroline to party away the worst of her pain. At the very least, he could be honest about his own, relatively intact humanity. Instead, he let her enjoy the lighter side of life without tempting a worse outcome should she feel the need to punish him for trying to fix her. After all, she’d done much the same when her mother died.
The subterfuge was messy but necessary, especially with credible threats against her in this war the humans insist upon waging. His ear was attuned to the array of heartbeats throughout the club, the loud music not enough to dull his hybrid senses. Vampires had a slow, dull throb when compared to the hearty pound of a werewolf, not that they’d find themselves in the Abattoir without some pressing business that was sure to involve him. Same with the witches, and only Lizzie’s let out the fast-paced thrum of both full blood and magic.
Humans, though, they seemed to be threading in from the edges of the crowd — and aiming for the blondes at the center. Feeling the world slow around him, Klaus launched himself down from the balcony, mindless to the vampires hurrying to get everyone out of his way. None of them caught the true danger, however, until the strobe light caught on the wooden stakes being pulled from jackets.
Klaus managed to snap three necks before they got close, but Caroline was too busy blocking access to Lizzie to notice the woman stretching a strong arm toward her. Feeling like he was underwater, he watched as Lizzie’s fear overwhelmed her, and the hand grasped around her mother’s wrist glowed red. Pain seemed to lance through Caroline, and she lost her focus to fend off the attack she still hadn’t seen coming.
The familiar scent of her blood filled the air, and all Klaus could see was red.
Later, he would confirm that the scratch down Caroline’s back healed perfectly, that she’d survived the bold offensive he hadn’t stopped. Even later than that, he would acknowledge his plan had been far from perfect, without even the veneer of success to defend it when her humanity was eventually restored.
But in the moment, the thought of losing her to his own carelessness was too much. Clearly, holding onto his humanity wasn’t working the way he’d envisioned; in fact, his rage at the sight of a stake piercing her skin felt like a liability. He processed this in the span of a second, and by the time the human’s bloody head hit the dance floor, his decision had been made.
The world already saw him as a ruthless monster. He might as well give it to them, and he’d make them bleed for daring to harm her. He didn’t need his humanity for that.
With his fangs bared and blood dripping from his hand, he certainly looked the part. When Caroline met his eyes, however, something must have alerted her to the change. Having torn the stake from her back and moved Lizzie to the safe space between them, her head tilted to the side as she appraised him with a new appreciation. She gave a sharp grin of joy and arousal, her tongue slipping from beneath her fangs to wet the corner of her lips. “It’s about time.”

Note
cause you want supernatural stuff you can do a sf9 reaction to reader being a vampire or them turning into a vampire idk anything with vampires since i've been watching the vampire diaries this past week so vampires are on my mind lol
I LOVE TVD 😍 Although, my fav is The Originals 😋
Warnings: Blood. Vampire-y stuff. Killing. Mostly based on TVD vampires *flays hands vaguely*. Angst?
YB:
If you were a vamp- He's gonna be shocked
Moral conflict cause you need to drink blood to survive and shit
Wonders if you've killed people
Your relationship is a bit in danger 🥺
Once he accepts who you are, he's gonna break up with you and wishes you the best
Will be a whole ass mess for months tho
If he was a vamp- Honestly at first he'd try to avoid you and getting feelings for you
Because he thinks he is a danger to you
Of course if you do end up dating him, he will tell you the moment he know he can trust you
He won't force you to turn into a vampire if you aren't willing
If you want to turn into an immortal, he will be the happiest vamp in town
IS:
If you're a vamp- He'd be scared of you lmao
Kinda on edge with you around
See, he loves you, truly loves you but
You're kinda dead?
And he will not at all be willing to turn into a vampire
But will date you for a few more months then he will express his concern about him growing old and dying and you still being here without him
And he wants a family too, so inevitable heartbreak 😭
If he was a vamp- He's gonna be the Shakespearean type vamp
Smart and artsy
Elijah Mikaelson style you know?
He'd be super understanding with your decision to not date him or wanting to forget about him completely
Tbh he's gonna freak out if you say you also want to become one
Cause he sees you as pure, kind and not a killer
JY:
If you're a vamp- Thinks you're lying at first
Gosh how you also wish you were
In denial at first and then eventually he does accept it
Then he's conflicted cause he doesn't want to leave you, but he isn't ready to kill someone
When you tell him he doesn't actually have kill a person, he's more relaxed
Willingly ready to become a Vampire for you and spend forever with you
If he's a vamp- Promises to love you forever irrespective of your decision
If you wanna be with him, okay
If you don't, also okay
If you don't wanna turn into a vampire, okay
If you want to turn into one, super okay.
He loves you a lot, so he'll be happy with your every decision
DW:
If you're a vamp- He'll accept you, for who you are
But deep down he's scared
You know cause you hear his heartbeat
Puts on a pretense, cause he cares about you
But he can for only so long
Breaksdown suddenly and begs you to end it 😢
The only solution is to make him forget that he ever knew you
If he's a vamp- Like YB he'll avoid you
Just being happy for you from afar as you fall for a human and live your life normally, happily
Although if you do end up in a life threatening situation, he shows himself to save you
Displeased when you want to become one
Tells you all the bad things only so you don't ask further
As much of a gift it is, it's also a curse
RW:
If you're a vamp- Confused baby
No like genuinely confused cause you don't look dead
His morals are telling him no, leave them
His heart though, is wrapped up in the thought of being with you forever
And with his looks gee man
He'd be jumping when he finds out he can look like that forever and be with you while looking that godly
If he's a vamp- He's like Damon Salvatore
No doubts
But he is more caring and understanding
Truly loves you but tries to convince you to become a vampire a lot
Only so he can spend forever with you
ZH:
If you're a vamp- Terrified of you
Sorry, but he is
Can't look at you without feeling sorry for you
A lot of trust issues arise, he starts to overthink everything
The only solution is to make him forget 😔
If he's a vamp- First off, he refuses to let you become one too
Takes a lot of convincing, that is if you want to
If you don't want to become a vampire like him, he does what he thinks is best for you
Makes you forget, makes you move on from him
Feels empty forver :(
YT:
If you're a vamp- Scared baby
But he's practical
There should be a good enough reason for you to have become a vampire
Has so many questions
Curious
Won't actually want to become one but he won't leave you abruptly
If he's a vamp- The charming one, clearly
Perfectly okay with whatever decision you make
But secretly hopes you'd want to become a vampire for him
Spend all the time you'll have travelling the world together
HY:
If you're a vamp- *Blinks* What
Thinks it's hot 💀💀
Of course for practical reasons, he'd be upset
Upset because you've been alone for so long
Upset cause you're dead...
Won't agree to become a vamp but ready to spend as much time with you as you want
If he's a vamp- Wonder why you fell for him
Genuinely thinks you deserve better
Uses his skills for sex
His love for you blinds him enough to turn you, if you asked
CH:
If you're a vamp- This cutepie doesn't know how to process the information
On one hand, he's happy that a pretty person like you can grace this planet forever
On the other he's sad cause it means you're gonna be alone most of your life
Pesters you so much to turn him
Really takes a lot of convincing you, but he really wants to become your forever lover
If he's a vamp- A whole mess when you find out
Honestly, you're doing better
Scared that you'll leave him
But you wanna stay
Though secretly, he wants to leave you so he won't "rot" your life too
Sees you as too pure too good
Makes you forget about him and moves on
Takes a century to get over you 😭

Hope laid in her bed starting out the window as she absentmindedly stroked Crookshank’s orange fur. She had taken Cedric’s advice about not confronting her Uncle earlier in the evening. Yet Hope knew she wouldn’t sleep again without an explanation. Hope hopped out of her bed, slid her slippers on and made her way down the stairs.
Hermione was sitting with Ron and a miserable looking Harry. He had tried to apologize when she got back but Hope would not look at him. She was furious. How could he have thought she would have kept that from him. She knew the feeling that the truth was being hidden. She couldn’t do that to someone else. Even if it meant spilling the truth about her own father.
“Hope?” Hermione sounded optimistic that she was coming to sit with them. She was stomping towards the portrait hole in her sweat pants and a t-shirt. Hermione realize quickly that she was leaving. “Hope it’s after hours.”
“I don’t care Hermione. I need to speak with my uncle.” Hope paused to answer her friend.
“If you’re caught you could get detention.” Hermione tried to reason. Hope rolled her eyes.
“Hermione- there are worse things than getting detention. I don’t care.” Hope snapped. Hermione hadn’t expected that kind of reaction. Before she could say anything else, Hope was gone.
“That’s my fault.” Harry sighed miserably. “I was just so worked up...I shouldn’t have taken it out on her. I shouldn’t have assumed.” Harry felt a mixture of rage at the man that betrayed his parents, guilt for attacking his daughter...one of his best friends. He felt a deep affection for her, mostly, he thought, because she had an idea of what he felt. Harry was just happy that she had Remus and didn’t have to go through childhood like he did.
“That’s obvious.” Ron muttered, snapping Harry out of his thoughts. “Don’t take it personally Hermione. I’m sure she’ll apologize.”
“No, it’s alright. I shouldn’t have said that.” Hermione sighed. “I was just trying to think of something that would make her stay.  Should I follow her?”
“No, definitely not.” Harry shook his head. “She needs to do whatever it is she’s doing. Drawing more attention to her won’t help. She was lied to as well. I’m assuming she’ll be having a go at her Uncle. ” Hermione let out a hefty sigh and sat back in her plush chair. Harry was right. Hope needed space. Now they just had to wait for her to come back.
Hope’s anger was palpable. Her explosive temper was bubbling to the surface. It had to be a gift from her father. Remus had always told her that her mother had been infinitely patient. She blinked back tears as she made her way down the corridor. She didn’t know what she was going to say, but she couldn’t hold this in.
“Ms. Lupin!” Hope halted and slowly turned when she heard the cold voice.
“Professor Snape.” Her voice was clipped.
“What are you doing in the corridors after hours?”  Hope took a deep breath.
“I need to see my Uncle.” She wrapped her arms around herself. Snape eyed her curiously. Her distress  was clear. Snape saw so much of Evanora Lupin in front of him, but the look in her blazing grey eyes were the eyes of Sirius Black.
“I’ve told you before that your Uncle being on staff doesn’t exempt you from the rules.”
“I understand. If you feel the need to give me detention then I supposed that is your prerogative. I’m sure something in your dungeon needs cleaning. But I’m going to see my Uncle.” Snape felt a mix of anger and respect for the girl in front of him.
“I cannot let you go unattended.” Hope turned as she felt Snape grab her arm. For a split second Hope tried to pull her arm from his grasp but then she was hit with an onslaught of visions so overwhelming she grabbed her chest as she gasped. Snape raised his brows in alarm.
“Let- let go! Let me go!” Hope screamed. The images were overwhelming. There was a ponding in her ears but she heard McGonagall’s alarmed voice and then her Uncle’s.
“Get your hands off my niece.” Snape drew his hand back quickly and Lupin caught Hope as she stumbled.
“Severus- what is going on?!” McGonagall demanded.
“I came upon her in the corridor saying she was going to Lupin. I reminded her that being his niece did not exempt her from the rules. She insisted and when she tried to leave without being accompanied I simply grabbed her arm and well you saw the rest.” Snape was trying to hide his shock. He had never seen anyone react like that before. Lupin was holding Hope and trying to calm her down.
“You have no right to put your hands on a student.” Lupin was angry. He didn’t show anger very often, Snape knew that, but his eyes were blazing. Before either of them could say anything Hope had seemingly pulled herself together and shoved Remus away. “Hope?”
“You lied.” Her voice was horse but it still dripped with coldness, her eyes were hard. The color had darkened, the way it did whenever she was angry.
“Lied about what?” Lupin was running the gamut in his brain. There was nothing he could think of that they had discussed lately that would warrant her ire.
“About him.” Then it hit him. Lupin and Hope both knew what him she was speaking of. “They’re dead because of him and you lied and kept it from me.” Hot tears poured down her cheek. The look on Lupin’s face told her she was right. She had hoped that he would have denied it. Deep in her heart she couldn’t believe it, but her Uncle did.
“I did not want you to shoulder that. It’s not your job to make up for what he did.” It took McGonagall a moment before the realization hit her. “Who told you?” Lupin asked.
Hope scoffed and then turned to her Head of House. “You should take care, Professor, when you discuss sensitive matters in the Three Broomsticks.” Hope snapped. Never in her life would she have ever expected herself to speak to Minerva McGonagall in that tone, but she was so angry it was bubbling toward the surface. The exchange was interrupted as footsteps approached them.
“Hope, might you join me in my office?” Albus Dumbledore stood a few steps away. She nodded and stepped towards him. “Don’t worry Remus, I will get her back to Gryffindor Tower safely. You two can discuss the matter tomorrow. Hope, make your way to my office, I’ll be there shortly. The password is Jelly Slugs.”
Hope silently made her way to The Head Master’s office. Her mind was spinning at the images that had popped into her head when Snape had touched her. She was in such a fog she didn’t notice much of anything when she entered his office and there was a lot to notice.  In fact, she didn’t realize The Headmaster had joined her until she felt Dumbledore touch her arm as he went to take a seat.
“Hope- I need to know what you saw when Professor Snape touched you.” Dumbledore watched Hope closely.
“I’m still trying to work it out. I-I don’t understand. I normally don’t have this happen with someone I’m not close with. And quite frankly, with all due respect, someone I dislike so immensely.” Hope avoided the word hate. She saw a glimmer of a smile flicker on Dumbledore’s face. “Professor-“ Hope let out a sigh of frustration. “Why does that happen to me in the first place?”
“I suspect you, like your mother, are a rare legilimens. She too could see the thoughts and memories of others upon touching them. With practice she was able to become quite gifted at legilimency.” Hope let that sink in for a moment. Dumbledore took it as a sign to continue. “Like you, at first, it happened against her will and only with those who she had a bond. I also suspect that the reason it happened with Professor Snape is due to your heightened emotional state.”
“He was a Death Eater.” Hope started picking through the images in her head. “He was close with Voldemort. But he...he switched sides? There are so many memories.” Hope shook her head. She felt nauseated. She could feel Severus Snape’s internal anguish. It was hard to picture him as someone who had those feelings.
“There is much more to it than that.” Dumbledore sighed. “Hope, I must ask you to keep this to yourself. You cannot tell any of your friends, especially Harry.” Hope looked at the headmaster quizzically.
“Lily.” She whispered. Her hand covering her mouth. A young girl with startling green eyes was staring at her from her own mind. The same eyes she had seen before she knew they belonged to Harry. “He- he knew Harry’s mother. He loved her?” Hope’s nose scrunched as shesaw Lily through Snape’s eyes. “How could he love her and be so awful to Harry?” Dumbledore watched as Hope started piecing things together. “Because he hated James. And Harry is the physical embodiment of his father. But that’s no excuse for the way he treats Harry? For the way he treat any student that isn’t in his house?! You’re protecting him! You let him verbally abuse his students! How could you allow it?” Dumbledore sighed and pinched the bridge of his crooked nose.
“Hope, when Voldemort fell, Professor Snape was working as a spy. No one ever found out. I need that secrecy to remain. If he were to behave differently, someone would notice. Any remaining Death Eaters would question his loyalty. There will come a time where Lord Voldemort will return and it is essential that Professor Snape be able to pick up where he left off.”
“I understand that. But there is a big difference between favoring Harry for being Lily’s son and behaving like a decent human being! Did you know that Neville’s boggart is Snape?” Dumbledore held back the need to correct Hope and remind her to call him Professor. She was far too angry, and rightfully so.
“I did not know that.” Dumbledore watched the range of expressions on Hope’s face.
“So I’m supposed to keep my mouth shut to protect him. I think it’s only fair that maybe you have a chat with him on how he treats his students, at least Neville.” Hope huffed. Dumbledore smiled.
“I will talk with Professor Snape about Neville. You know Hope, any one else would extort something for themselves. It’s very admirable you are thinking of your fellow students.” Hope’s face turned red.
“I didn’t mean to come across as blackmail.” Hope’s anger deflated. “I just think that if Neville was given more guidance and patience he would have more confidence. It’s his lack of confidence that holds him back.”
“I didn’t think you meant it as blackmail. I think it’s a fair request.” Dumbledore reassured Hope.  “I’m sure you will have questions as more of his memories become clear to you. You are always welcome to come to me. You have a terribly powerful gift that carries a burden. I watched your mother struggle with it, but once she got the hang of it, she managed beautifully.”
“What do you mean by burden?”
“You see things that are coming, or could be coming. Often times, you must keep them to yourself. Fate is a funny thing.”
“I don’t understand.”  Dumbledore paused for a moment. He needed to decide how to tell her. He wished Remus had been more forthcoming.
“Your mother knew she was going to die. She saw it. She also knew it was necessary so you could be saved. She had your Uncle take you away and stayed behind. She was afraid The Death Eaters would take you. They wouldn’t know for sure if you had the same gifts your mother did, but they no doubt would have tried to hold you until you were old enough to show your powers. That is why your Uncle kept you from the magical community. Voldemort’s supporters are still out there. He was afraid they would come for you.” He watched as Hope silently blinked back tears. “Hope, I know that you are angry with him. You have every right to be. I also know your empathy knows no bounds. Try to understand his fear and his need to protect you. He knew the pain you would feel growing up without your parents. He wanted to spare you the pain of the full truth.”
“My Uncle won’t like it.”
“Well, we are past that point. If you don’t learn to control it, it will be much more difficult for you. He knows, deep down, you will need help that he can’t provide. Hope I ask that you remain patient with him as he slowly unburdened himself to you. He is still your guardian and he will balance the truth and your safety. I know it’s frustrating, but you have to give him time.”
“I know. I’m just so angry right now and confused. I’m angry at Harry for accusing me of lying to him. But I know it’s because I told him I thought there was more to what happened with my father. That him being a Death Eater doesn’t make sense. But I wouldn’t lie to Harry. Not when I already told him so much of my truth. And then to find out like that and not from my uncle, it hurts.” Fawkes had perched on her knee and was nudging her hand with his head so she would pet him. He apparently didn’t like to see her upset.
“Give yourself time to be angry. You have every right to feel what you feel, but don’t stay angry too long so that you miss out on the people you care about.” Hope nodded. “Now, I know it is past curfew, but you’ll find Mr. Diggory waiting for you right outside my office. I have instructed Mr. Filch that you both have my permission to be out of your dormitories. But don’t stay out too late, you look very tired.” Hope felt her heart jump slightly. “But I feel some cheering up is most important.”
“Thank you Professor.” Dumbledore gave her a kind smile.
“We will start meeting after the Christmas Holiday. Oh and Hope- Happy early birthday.” She grinned at quickly made her way out of his office.

As promised, there stood Cedric. His hair slightly tussled and his grey blue eyes shining. He was wearing flannel pajama pants and a hoodie. Like always, his smile took her breath away.
“Hey Lupes.” She felt a sudden wave of emotion and felt tears spring to her eyes. “Hey- hey, it’s okay.” He rushed to her and pulled her to his torso and wrapped her in his arms. Like a reflex, she wrapped her arms around him and rested her head on his chest. As she inhaled deeply, the familiar scent of sandalwood drifted into her nose. The rich sweet smell was beginning to remind her  of comfort and safety. After a few moments, Cedric pulled away so he could look at her. He wiped her tears and smiled softly. “C’mon, let’s go. It’s not very often we get permission to roam the castle this late. I know exactly where to go.”
She was beginning to realize she would follow Cedric just about anywhere. She nodded to give him the okay. He slipper his hand into hers and led her through the castle. Soon Cedric was leading Hope up a set of stone steps. She knew it wasn’t the Owlery. When they reached the top of the stairs, Cedric led her into the circular room. It was the Astronomy Tower. As it was a clear night, Hope looked around at every star that was illuminating the sky.
“This is…wow.” The chill in the night air nipped at Hope’s skin and she felt a shiver run through her body. Cedric pulled his hands from hers. He slipped his hooded Chudley Cannons sweatshirt off and handed it to Hope.
“You’re freezing.”
“What about you.”
“I have a thermal shirt on. I’ll be fine.  I can see the goosebumps on your arm. Why do I have a feeling this late night stroll wasn’t planned. Hope what happened?”
“I…I was laying in bed and I was just so angry. I wanted to speak to my uncle and then I bumped into Snape and it was a whole thing.” Hope rolled the cuffs of Cedric’s sweatshirt. He was staring down studying her face.
“You’re leaving something out.”
“What?”
“Hope- you were with the headmaster after hours. He sent an owl to Professor Sprout for me to meet you.” Hope wouldn’t meet his eyes. She wished she could tell him everything, but she had made a promise to Dumbledore. She felt him hook his finger under her chin and tipped her head up to look him in the eye. “It’s okay if you’re not ready to talk about it. You don’t have to say anything. You can tell me when you’re ready.”
“Cedric…” Hope started, but was stopped by his lips lightly pressing on hers.
“Don’t say anything. I’m here to make you feel better, not worse.” He ran his thumb over her cheek. She felt like the air in her lungs was sucked out and her heart was pounding. “Is it working?” He whispered and when she nodded he kissed her again, only not as softly this time. She was breathless again when he pulled away. “Good.” He smiled down at her again. “C’mon, let’s sit.”
He sat down on the floor and leaned against the wall. He motioned for Hope to sit in front of him with a grin. She sat down and he pulled her so her back was against hischest. They sat quietly for a while. Hope desperately wanted to tell him everything but she wasn’t sure how he would react. She felt him rub his nose against her neck and she felt a fresh batch of goosebumps erupt all over her skin.
“Thank you, Ced.”
“For what?”
“For not pushing me to talk. There are things that I can’t tell you. I made a promise that I wouldn’t. I want to tell you, but I Just can’t.
“Hope, you don’t have to explain anything I understand. Maybe you could think of something you could tell me that I don’t know.”
“My birthday is tomorrow…well in a couple of hours that is.”
“Winter Solstice baby?”
“Least amount of daylight all year.”
“I’m betting you make the day seem a bit brighter. You make every one of my days brighter.”
“That’s quite a line.”
“It’s the truth.” Hope leaned her head back and rested it on Cedric’s shoulder. She felt him kiss her cheek. “I should get you back to your common room, it’s really late.”
“True- at Midnight I might turn into a pumpkin.”
“Pumpkin? What?” Hope laughed.
“It’s a Muggle fairytale, sorry I forget you wouldn’t understand the reference.” Cedric dropped his forehead on her shoulder and laughed. Hope sat for a few more moments enjoying the heat of Cedric against her. He groaned as she stood up. She put her hand out to help him up.
“Just one quick thing before I take you back.” Before Hope could say anything Cedric was kissing her again by cupping her face. When he pulled away he gave her another boyish grin. “Early birthday kiss.” He put his arm around her shoulders and led her out of the Astronomy Tower. They walked in a comfortable silence as they made their way to Gryffindor Tower.
“Here you go M’lady, safe and sound.” Hope laughed.
“Thanks Ced.“
“For walking you back to your tower? I mean I’m quite certain you could have found it on your own.” She was pretty sure the way he was looking at her was going to make her heart explode.
“For making me feel better. For not trying forcing me to talk.”
“Hope, I’ll never force you to do anything you don’t want to do or can’t do. But can I offer some advice?”
“Always.”
“Don’t stay angry at Harry or your Uncle for too long. I can’t imagine how it would feel to have you angry at me.”
  “Cedric…”
“Hope- you love them, both of them. They made mistakes, and you have every right to be mad. I just feel like it’s going to hurt you more if you stay mad.” Hope sighed.
“You’re right.” Cedric gave her a satisfied look. “Don’t get used to hearing that.” She pointed her finger at him.
“Wouldn’t dream of it. Speaking of dreams, only good ones Lupes.” Cedric leaned down and kissed her one last time. “Birthday Breakfast tomorrow?” Hope nodded. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Hope watched as he walked away. Half way down the corridor he turned and gave her one last grin. When he turned back around, she gave Sir Calogen the password and climbed into the portrait hole. She hoped The Fat Lady would be back soon.  As she looked up Harry jumped up from his chair. He, Ron and Hermione were seated near the fire.
“Hope! Where have you been?! It’s almost midnight.” She gave him a scathing look. “Whose sweatshirt is that?”
“None of your business.” Harry grabbed her arm as she tried to stalk back. She yanked her arm away.
“We were worried. I- I was worried.” Hope felt the ice around her heart crack slightly, but she wasn’t ready to relent.
“I’m sorry I made you worry.” And she continued up the steps up to her dorm room and left Harry gaping at the bottom of the stairs.
Hope pulled Cedric’s sweatshirt up and took a deep breath in to smell his cologne. She didn’t ever think she would feel like this about a boy.
“Hope?” Hermione called from the doorway. “Are you okay?” Hope turned to face her.
“Yes…and no. I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to snap at you or make you worry.”
“You don’t need to apologize. You were just gone for a really long time. We were afraid that you got caught.”
Hope sighed as she sat down on her bed and patted next to her so Hermione would sit with her. Hermione listened with attention. Hope left out the details about Snape that Dumbledore asked her not to tell to herself. It wasn’t her place to share anyway.
“Wow…that’s a lot.” Hope nodded. “I can’t believe that he had Cedric waiting for you. And The Astronomy tower sounds very romantic. Oh! You’re blushing.”  Hermione grinned. “You’re falling for him.”
“Stop it.” Hermione grinned again.
“You will try and forgive Harry won’t you?”
“I will. I just need some time.”
“What about your Uncle?”
“I just, I knew there were things he wasn’t telling me, but this is huge. I need him to be honest with me.”
“Hope, he loves you so much. He just wants to protect you.”
“I know. But sometimes protecting someone is worse for them than the truth.”
“I know, but Christmas is this week. You don’t want to be fighting.”
“Hermione…I promise that I will make up with my uncle AND Harry before Christmas. I just need some time to stew in it.” Hermione nodded.
“I can’t believe you didn’t tell me it’s your birthday.” Hope waived her off. “I don’t want anyone making a big deal.”
“Well I suppose it’s good that your Uncle let it slip to Harry.” Hermione grinned as Hope moaned. “So you really need to make up with Harry tomorrow morning.” Hope gave Hermione a scathing look.
“After my breakfast with Cedric. He leaves tomorrow for the Christmas holiday. Now go to sleep. I’m exhausted.”
“Probably all of the kissing you did.” Hermione teased. Hope glared at her one last time before hastily shutting her bed curtains.

Hope swallowed as she walked down the stairs to the common room. She knew the walk to the Great Hall would be awkward. She paused at the bottom step and took a calming breath and made her way into the common room. Ron grinned at her when he saw her.
“Happy Birthday!” He yelled. She rolled her eyes and made her way over to Ron and Hermione.
“Thanks Ron.” She looked around slightly. “Where’s-“
“Harry is running late. He’ll meet us in the Great Hall.” Hope nodded at Ron.
“C’mon- don’t want to be late for your birthday breakfast with your boyfriend” he teased. Hope gave Hermione a dirty look. Hope followed Ron and Hermione out of the portrait hole and looked towards the steps of the boys dormitory. She had a feeling Harry wasn’t running late but wanted to spare her.
Hope tuned out Ron and Hermione’s bickering about Scabbers and Crookshanks. Hope stopped in her tracks. There stood Cedric leaning against the wall in front of The Great Hall. He had two long stemmed lavender roses in his hand. He was wearing a navy blue v-neck sweater that Hope knew would make his eyes stand out. His smile beamed when he saw her walking towards him.
“We’ll uh, leave you to it.” Ron wiggled his eyebrows and then groaned when Hope elbowed him in his stomach. She heard Cedric’s laugh ring out. Cedric watched as her eyes sparkled as she approached him.
“When did you have time to get flowers? You found out about my birthday not even 10 hours ago.”
“You do know my head of house runs the Herbology department. She also happens to be very fond of you.”
“Which is surprising because I’m dreadful at Herbology. And how did you know lavender roses were my favorite?”
“Your Uncle. I sent him and owl last night. Right after I sent one to my mother. You didn’t give me much time.”
“Your mother?” Cedric grinned and placed his hand on the small of her back and led her into The Great Hall. He had clearly gotten there early to snag two seats at the end of the Gryffindor table. There was a present wrapped and placed at the end of the table between the two seats. There were balloons at the end of the table as well. Hope felt the heat rush to her face as everyone stared at them. Cedric pulled the chair out and helped her into her seat. Her plate was filled with an omelet and toast. She could tell it was filled with sausages, peppers and onions with extra cheese, her favorite.
“Also your Uncle.” Cedric pointed to her plate when he saw her look of surprise.
“Cedric, this is, wow.”
“Happy Birthday Lupes. I wish I had more time.”
“I can’t really think of what else you would need more time for Ced. This is amazing.” He beamed.
“I guess you’ll find out next year, won’t you?”
“Confident I’ll keep you around huh?” Hope could listen to Cedric laugh forever.
“I just wish I wasn’t leaving today for two weeks.”
“You could stay at Hogwarts you know.”
“And miss my family Christmas party? My father would come get me himself. You going to be okay here?” Concern flooded his face.
“Yeah I’ll be fine. My uncle is here. Hermione and Ron are staying too.”
“And Harry?”
“Yes and Harry. His Aunt and Uncle are horrible. He was the main reason the 3 of us decided to stay. Uncle Remus had suggested going to my cousin’s house, but I think I’d rather be here.”
“It’s nice that he has friends like the three of you. Did you talk to him last night when you got back?” Hope sighed.
“No. I just need a little more time. I did promise Hermione that I would forgive him before Christmas. C’mon let’s eat. That way we’ll have a little time before you leave.”
“Open this first.” Cedric handed her the wrapped gift. Hope took it from him and slowly opened it up. It was a leather bound copy of “Grimm’s Complete Fairy Tales”. Hope blinked for a few seconds and looked at Cedric.
“One of my roommates is a Muggle. He explained the pumpkin reference. I just thought that you might like it.” Hope ran her hand over the soft black leather and the gold embossed writing.
“I love it. I love fairy tales.”
“Well then I guess I just got lucky.” Hope felt the breath leave her lungs again when she looked at Cedric. He had that effect on her. He took her hand and squeezed it.
“Thank you, Cedric.”
“You are more than welcome. Maybe we can ask Hermione to bring this stuff up to your room. We can go for a walk and then I can grab my trunk and you can maybe walk me to the carriages?”
“I’d love that.” Cedric jumped up and walked over to Hermione. As Hope looked up, she saw Harry starring at her. He mouthed “Happy Birthday.” and looked away.
Hope’s face was still burning as she walked back into the castle. She and Cedric had strolled the corridors as he told her about the Diggory Christmas party. While he was an only child, he had a rather large extended family. They had ended up at their window and they sat closely together.
“So, I know we’ve only had one date.”
“Well today kind of feels like a second date.” Hope mused.
“I suppose it is.” Cedric ran his nose up her cheek and kissed her temple. Hope was certain her new skin tone was blush. “Be my girlfriend. Give me something for my mother to tell my gossip hungry aunts.”
“Well if it’s to help out your mother. She did help get me a lovely book and balloons for my birthday.”
“I mean we can break up after the Easter holidays.” Hope laughed.
“I’d love to be your girlfriend Ced.”
“Really?”
“I mean I’m solely in it for the gifts…” Cedric interrupted her with a kiss.
“Now I really wish I was staying here for the holiday.”
“I guess this will give you time to miss me. You have to get going Ced. You’ll miss the carriages to the train.”
“I know. Do me a favor?”
“Anything…well almost anything.”
“Make up with your Uncle and Harry. You’ll feel better.”
Cedric was right of course. So she promised she would. Which was how she found herself on her way to her Uncle’s office. She hesitated before she knocked.
“It’s open.” She hears his tired voice ring out. She slowly opened the door. She felt her anger ebb away when she saw how strained he looked. When he saw her he jumped to his feet.  “Hope! I’m so glad to see you. I’m so sorry-“ Hope held her hand up to stop him. She rushed over and wrapped her arms around his torso and hugged him. She felt his body relax as he hugged her back. “Come sit” he finally said. She took and Remus sat next to her. He sighed. “I know that you’re angry. You have every right to be. There is just so much that you don’t know. And I know you want to know everything and I know you think you’re old enough to know it. The Minister was concerned about you and Harry when your father broke out from Azkaban. He wanted the details of his arrest kept from the both of you. He was worried and quite frankly so was I that you or Harry would leave Hogwarts and go look for him.” Hope nodded. “Hope I love you very much. Your mother asked me to keep you safe. I told you before, I can’t lose you too. You’re all I have left.”
“Uncle Remus, I know. I promise you that I won’t go look for him, but you have to promise to tell me more. I need to know.”
“Darling, I promise you someday I will tell you more. Unfortunately, there isn’t much else I can tell you about what happened with your father than what you know. I wasn’t there. All I can tell you is that he grew increasingly paranoid and had pushed me away. Your mother tried to keep us close. But, she was unsuccessful. She may have known more than she let on, but she must have had her reasons for keeping it to herself.”
“Dumbledore called it a terrible gift. And that she had to stay quiet about a lot of things and something about fate.” Remus wiped a stray tear from her cheek.
“Hope, I’m begging you to let this go. Please. Nothing can change what happened. I will share more about your parents with you, when I’m feeling better.”
“Oh Uncle Remus…I’m so sorry. I can’t imagine reliving this is easy for you. I’ve been so selfish. You had to live through all of this and I’m asking you to go through it again.”
“Hope, Darling, you don’t need to apologize.” He waved her off. He studied her face. “So you’ve been spending quite a bit of time with Cedric.” He smiles as she blushed.
“He asked me to be his girlfriend.” Hope wasn’t sure how her Uncle would react. He did tend to be over protective.
“He is a very nice young man and he’s very lucky if you have agreed.” Remus laughed at her expression. “Don’t look so shocked Hope. Anyone that makes you as happy as I have seen you lately has my blessing. Now wait here, I want to get you your birthday present. Though I’m not sure I can beat that breakfast.” He winked at her and laughed as her face grew red again. “Now, I had Arthur help me with this, so I hope it works the way it is supposed to.” He handed Hope the package. Hope smiled at her Uncle’s inept at wrapping a present. She pulled out a Disc Man that seemed to have some odd attachments.
“Uncle Remus…I, I’m confused.” He smiled.
“Well I know how much your music quiets your mind, I also know that yours hasn’t worked since we’ve been at Hogwarts. Arthur is rather talented at enchanting non magical objects- oh!” Hope had flung her arms around her Uncle.
“Thank you so much. I’ve missed my music so much.” Hope cried.
“You’re welcome Darling, Happy Birthday. Now you should get back to your common room. I feel there might be some other surprises waiting for you and I need to rest.” Hope kissed her Uncle on the cheek.
“I’ll come check on you tomorrow. Do you have your potion?”
“Yes, Professor Snape brought it by earlier. You don’t have to worry.” Hope hesitated. “Hope- go, enjoy the rest of your birthday. I will be fine.” Hope beamed at him one final time and rushed out of his office and headed toward the Gryffindor common room.
Harry watched as the fire crackled. He was miserable. He couldn’t stop kicking himself for what had happened the night before. He was quick to anger and Hope was quick to hang on to anger. It was his own fault. He was tuning out Hermione and Ron bickering as they hung up decorations for Hope’s birthday. They had a few presents piled up for her. Fred and George had assisted by getting food and a cake. Harry had no idea where and how they had gotten all of it. Harry knew Hope would be pleased with the chocolate cake. He had given up on watching her on the Maurader’s Map. He had tortured himself enough by watching her and Cedric moving around the map. He assumed Cedric had left already.
“Oh you guys!” Hope cried as she clamored through the portrait hole.
“No! We weren’t done yet!” Hermione protested.
“Well, I’ll go sit over here and you can finish hanging the banner.” Hope grinned. She wandered over and sat near Harry. He could feel her gray eyes studying him, waiting for him to say something. She sighed. “Harry, please look at me.” He slowly turned to look at her. Her heart cracked at the look on his face.
“That was some birthday breakfast.” He commented. “You seem really happy.”
“Harry.” Hope took his hand. His green eyes met her gray ones.
“I’m sorry. I am so sorry. I shouldn’t have even thought you would ever lie to me. And I certainly shouldn’t have yelled at you. I’m also sorry for ruining your date. But what I’m mostly sorry for you finding out the truth like that. I found out a similar way.”
“I accept your apology. It’s okay, really. You weren’t thinking straight. I had a similar moment last night.“ Harry grinned as Hope gave him a run down of her hallway flip out.
“I kind of wish I could have seen you yell at Snape.”
“Yeah he didn’t know what to do. I have a feeling it was a first.”
“Well a first that he didn’t tear you down.”
“Well I feel my Uncle may have taken him out. His friendly demeanor tends to go away when I’m involved.”
“Oh good! You’ve made up!” Hermione exclaimed when she came over.
“I did tell you last night that we would be fine. I have a feeling that this won’t be our first spat on the account we both have horrendous tempers.” Harry bumped Hope with his shoulder.
“So…how’s your boyfriend? Pretty fancy breakfast.” Ron teased.
“He’s good. Almost home I bet.” Ron’s eyes widened.
“You didn’t say he wasn’t your boyfriend!” Hope shrugged.  Ron wiggled his eyebrows.
“Shut it.” Hope threw a pillow at Ron. Hermione noticed how quiet Harry had gotten but didn’t comment. Ron made a few more obnoxious comments before Hermione intervened with presents.
“So Fred and George’s gift is the food and the enormous cake. They also told me to make fun of you and Cedric.” Ron handed her his gift that was filled with sweets from Honeydukes. “I wasn’t sure what to get you so I figured replenishing your sugar supply would be appreciated.” Ron was pleased with Hope’s happiness. Hermione handed her a rather heavy package. Hope was not surprised by the Arithmancy book on her lap.
“I figured it would help you catch up from missing the first couple of weeks of class.” Hermione was sheepish.
“Hermione, this is perfect.”
“I still can’t believe you dropped such an easy class to take Arithmancy.” Ron scoffed.
“I could not handle Trewlawney and her hack of a class.”  Ron shook his head. Harry leaned forward and handed Hope a beautifully wrapped package. She looked up and smiled at him. Apparently it was the day for leather bound. Harry had gotten Hope a gorgeous royal blue leather bound sketch book with her initials embossed on the lower right hand corner. He had also included some new charcoal pencils and watercolor pencils.
“Harry, this is beautiful. How did you manage this?”
“Hermione helped. I knew what I wanted to get you, so she found it for me.” Hope hugged him.
“I love it. It’s perfect.”
A while later, Hope was stuffed with great food and a magnificent cake. She was putting her gifts away when she noticed a small present on the end of her bed. Confused, she sat down and slowly opened it. It was an antique looking silver ring shaped like a rose. Underneath was a small note.
Hope- this was your mother’s and I thought you might like to have it. Happy Birthday, I wish I could have been there for all of them.
Hope felt tears spring to her eyes. Underneath the note was a picture. It was a photo of her being held by one of the most handsome men she had ever seen. Her eyes  were looking back at her in the form of her father, Sirius Black.

The Christmas holiday wasn’t as relaxing as she had hoped. It had started with Crookshanks going after Scabbers and grew worse when McGonagall confiscated The Firebolt for testing. Harry and Ron were furious with Hermione. Hope understood where Hermione was coming from and actually agreed that it should have been looked at. That made Ron and Harry angry with her as well, just not as angry as they were with Hermione.
Hope had kept the gift from her father to herself. At first, it was to process it and then it was to obsess over it. By the time she was ready to talk about it, McGonagall had taken Harry’s Firebolt. There was no way she was going to risk anyone taking that ring or the note and photo her father had sent. She knew, even I’d be was after Harry, he wouldn’t do anything to hurt her. Her Uncle had been recovering from the full moon so she didn’t want to bring it up and worry him. Her only option was Cedric, but she didn’t dare put it in writing. He had sent her a letter and some chocolate on Christmas morning stating he wanted to give her the gift he got her in person. Hope had spent her holiday with Hermione trying to find a way to save Buckbeak and working on a sketch of the Astronomy Tower. Her Uncle had helped her get a really beautiful silver frame to place it in. She was also able to order a really nice cerulean sweater. It would look perfect with his eyes.
She screeched as she felt a pair of arms around her waist and spin her around in a circle. Once her feet hit the ground she spun to see Cedric grinning like a Cheshire Cat. Cedric had managed to get his father to set up him coming back early. He had arrived by Floo. Hope had written to him about how horribly her vacation was going and so he came back early.  Hope had her hand on her chest as her heart pounded. She swatted at him and then laughed.
“Sorry Love, couldn’t help myself.”
“You didn’t have to come back early. I feel bad that I pulled you away from your parents early.”
“Are you kidding? It was my mom’s idea. She’s absolutely smitten with you.” Hope rolled her eyes.
“She doesn’t even know me.”
“She knows you like I know you. She can’t wait to meet you.”
“Well now she’s going to be disappointed when she actually meets me. I’m sure you exaggerated.”
“Well, then so did Arthur Weasley when he told my father how wonderful you are.” Hope groaned. He put his hand on her cheek and kissed her lightly. “I missed you.”
“It’s only been a week and a half.” She joked. “I missed you too. It’s been kind of awful.”
“It sounded so from your letter.”
“And I down played it.”
“What’s the matter?” He studied her face.
“What do you mean?”
“I can tell by your eyes. You have the same look that you did when you told me about your dad.” He watched Hope look around nervously. She grabbed him by the hand and dragged him over to their window. Cedric sat down and watched her pace for a few moments. “Hope, you’re making me dizzy.” She sighed and reached into the front pocket of her hoodie and handed him the ring, the note and the photo. He scrunched his brow at the ring after he examined it for a moment. He looked at the photo and then she watched as his eyes went wide and he looked up at her. She was pacing again.
“Have you shown this to anyone else?” She shook her head no and continued pacing. On her way back in front of him he grabbed her arm and pulled her to him and sat her on his lap. “I take that as a no.”
“I needed some time to process and then by the time I was ready the whole thing with Harry’s new broom happened. And then I was afraid they would take the ring, and it was my mother’s.” Cedric rested his chin on her shoulder.
“I understand. Not even your Uncle?”
“He would go mental. I can’t. I can’t do that to him. Plus I don’t want to fight with him.”
“I understand.”
“There’s more…”
“Hope you’re killing me.” She reached back into her and pulled out another card. Cedric read it out loud.
“Merry Christmas Sweetheart” Cedric read aloud. “Well if it wasn’t in the same handwriting I would be jealous. Did it come with a gift?”
“A really beautiful cashmere sweater. It’s this bluish-purple. It fits perfectly. I lied and said it was from you by the way.”
“Hope…”
“I know, I know. I don’t know how he was able to buy anything or get his hands on the ring or get it into my dorm. I just..”
“It’s all you have from your father. I understand. You’ve been holding this in for almost two weeks so you’ve had plenty of time to over think and brew.” She leaned her head against his and took all of the items and shoved them back into the front pocket of her hoodie.
“Like a strong cup of coffee.”
“Your favorite.” Hope smiled.
“My favorite. I’m really glad you’re here. I can’t take any more time in the library with Hermione.” He chucked.
“She’s pretty intense.”
“She is. And with how upset she is, it’s even worse. I can’t take the fighting between them. And I refuse to share my opinion. It’s been awful. Kiss me?” He laughed and pressed his lips against hers. They jumped apart when they heard a throat clear. Her Uncle was smiling at the two of them.
“I was hoping you would be together.”
“Hi Uncle Remus. What’s going on?” Hope felt her cheeks blazing and Cedric looked like he was going to throw up.
“Well I heard that Cedric came back a little early. I was hoping the two of you would join me for dinner tomorrow. I figured it might be nice to get together before everyone else comes back from break.”
“That, that would be great, sir.” Cedric stuttered over his words.
“Oh Cedric I don’t think we need to be so formal.” Remus mused. Hope held in a laugh. “Tomorrow at 6pm in my office?”
“That sounds great Uncle Remus.” He nodded.
“Well…carry on.” He gave Hope an amused look before he turned to leave.
Hope sat down on the windowsill and started laughing. Cedric crossed his arms in front of himself. “Sir?!” Hope continued to laugh.
“I was trying to be respectful.”
“I’m pretty sure that Professor would have been just as respectful.” Cedric’s face turned crimson. “I’m just teasing. It’s just, it’s my Uncle. He would be perfectly happy with you calling him Remus. It’s how he is.”
“Yeah…well…” Cedric huffed.
“Don’t be mad…I really needed that laugh. I mean I suppose it’s only fair for the way you scared me when you got here.”
“Okay truce. So…feel like breaking some rules?” Hope raised her eyebrows.
“Well…no one from Hufflepuff stayed behind for the holidays. I was thinking I could sneak you in so we could exchange gifts and be alone?”
“Why Mr. Diggory I am SHOCKED.” Hope made a mock gasp. “I’ll go get your gift and meet you outside of your common room?”
“Sounds like a plan.” He grinned.
Hope rushed down the steps of her dormitory, Cedric’s gifts in hand. She was happy to see Harry and Ron playing chess.
“Harry!” Hope exclaimed. Both he and Ron jumped.
“Surprised you’re not in the Library with Hermione.” Ron snarked. Hope rolled her eyes.
“Don’t start Ronald. I’m not picking sides in this stupid fight.” Ron scoffed.
“Could have fooled me. You’ve been avoiding us and spending all of your time with Hermione. And it’s not stupid.” He argued. Hope felt the anger in her bubbling beneath the surface.
“So I should what? Leave her by herself all break. You know, I expect this from you Ron. But not from you.” She gave Harry a pointed look. Ron started to protest, but Hope continued her tirade over him. “She stayed here for you, Harry. She could have been on Holiday with her family. And while I don’t agree with how she handled it, she’s not wrong. There could be something wrong with that broom. We watched you almost fall to your death in your last match. The two of you are so blinded by Quidditch and winning you don’t care what you risk. You’re being childish. The pair of you. Though I’m sure you’ll be over it by the time you need her help with lessons.”
Hope turned on her heel. She had planned to ask Harry to borrow the Marauders Map, but she didn’t want anything from him. She was satisfied with how ashamed Harry looked.
“Wait where are you going?” Ron called. Hope stopped and turned back.
“Cedric came back early when he heard how miserable this break has been. I’m going to spend the evening with him.” And with that, she stalked out of the portrait hole. She wasn’t paying attention and walked right into Cedric. His strong hands gripped her so she didn’t fall.
“Easy Hope.” Cedric slowly removed his hands from her.
“I thought I was meeting you outside of the common room?” She felt out of breath.
"I got worried when you didn't turn up." She gave him a sheepish look.
"My temper got the best of me again." He quirked an eyebrow. "Harry and Ron...Ron made some stupid comment about Hermione and I kind of yelled at both of them. Like I get it, I really do. But we watched Harry almost die...if there's something wrong with that broom-" Cedric cut her off.
"Hope, you're a very good friend." He smiled. He put his arm around her.
"C'mon...let's sneak you in." Hope looked back towards her Common Room.
She really had to get a grip on her temper. She and Cedric walked through the corridors and past the Hogwarts Kitchen. For most of the students being gone, there was still wonderful smells coming from the House Elves inside. She knew that Fred and George had a way in there, she needed to ask them how, she wanted to visit the elves and thank them for their kindness before the start of term. Hope was barely paying attention as Cedric tapped on one of the barrels a handful of times. Her attention was grabbed when the barrels opened up to the Hufflepuff Common Room. As much as Hope loved her own Common Room, this one was also beautiful.
The bright yellow and black were a wonderful contrast and the highly polished, honey colored wood shone. True to Professor Sprout, there were colorful plants and flowers all over the common room. There were a handful of Cacti on wooden curved shelves. Plant holders dangled as ferns and ivies brushed as you passed underneath them. Over the Mantelpiece that was decorated with carved badgers was a portrait of Helga Hufflepuff.
"Cedric...this is incredible." Hope was awestruck as she looked around. He seemed pleased at how much she loved the common room.
“Come sit.” He led her over to one of the couches. She looked uneasy. “What’s wrong?”
“Just- what if Professor Sprout comes in here? Students from other houses aren’t supposed to be in common rooms that aren’t there’s!” Hope’s hand flew over her my. “I’ve been spending too much time with Hermione. She just came out of my mouth.” Cedric laughed.
“Relax. Professor Sprout doesn’t come in here unless there is an emergency.” “I think the only time I’ve seen Professor McGonagall in ours was when I was here before term.”
“Okay, open your present.” He handed her a small square box. She pulled the ribbon off and opened the box. Inside was a silver bracelet with stars. “I thought it would remind you of the Astronomy Tower. Why are you laughing?” Hope handed him his gifts. Cedric gave her a quizzical look and opened the drawing of the Astronomy Tower.
“Great minds and all.” Cedric grinned.
“Hope, this is gorgeous. I can’t wait to hang it up.”
“Really?”
“Yes, really.”
“I thought you might think it was lame. So I got you this too.” She handed him the sweater. He set the wrapped gift down.
“Hope- this is all I need. This is perfect. I could never think a piece of art you made was lame.” Hope rolled her eyes.
“You’re trying a little too hard.”
“Do you want to come with me while I hang it on my wall?” Hope grabbed his face and kissed him. “I thought we were arguing?” He laughed.
“I’m going to have you watch Ron and Hermione and see what arguing is really is. C’mon, open the other present. I picked it out specifically for you.” She waved at his other gift. He opened the sweater and she held it up to him. It had just the affect on his eyes as she suspected. “Perfect.” He put his arm around her and pulled her into his side.
“You’re very good at pretending to be okay, you know.”
“I am okay.”
“Hope.”
“Okay…I’m freaking out. I just…I just want…” She pulled away and put her face in her hands.
“You just what Lupes?”
“I just want to see him. And talk to him, just once. I have so many questions. And is it so bad that I just want my father to hug me, once, so that I can remember? And that makes me so traitorous. My Uncle has given up his entire life for me. And here I am longing for someone else when he was the best father anyone could ever ask for.”
“Oh Hope…” He wiped the tears from her face. “You are NOT a traitor for wanting to know your father. That doesn’t take anything away from how much you love your Uncle or appreciate him. Hope, he loves Hope. He didn’t sacrifice his life for you. He made room in his life for you. You made his life more full.”
“You couldn’t possibly know that.”
“Yes I could because he told me.”
“Wait…what?”
“Well, after I found out about your birthday I went to see him. I asked him about the pumpkin thing. He told me. And we got talking…and he wanted to know more about me since we were getting closer. And so we spoke for a while after I sent the owl to my mother to send me everything for your birthday. You act like he did this huge favor by taking care of you…but he needed you as much as you needed him. You were all be had left. You saved him as much as he saved you.” Hope started crying harder. “What? What did I say.”
“I’m horrible. I promised him I wouldn’t.”
“Hope…what are you talking about?” Cedric had no idea what she was talking about.
“Well…no ones been around because of the holidays so I figured no one would notice. And I knew he had to be close…the gifts and all…”
“Hope…I need you to say more words that make sense.” Cedric watched as Hope unraveled before his eyes.
“I wrote a letter to my father.”

Sirius was surprised as a black tiny owl bounced around in front of him. The letter attached was addressed to him. He didn’t know who in their right mind would send him an owl. He could wish that Remus would realize that Sirius would never had betrayed James. He needed to get his hands on that rat. He tried to push down the bitterness, but it was too hard. He pulled the letter off and saw his name written in impeccable handwriting. If he didn’t know any better, he would think it was from Evanora. His Nora. He would never get over losing her and God help the Death Eater that snuffed out that bright light. Sirius took a deep breath and opened it.
Dad…Sirius…I don’t know what to call you. All I know, is that for as long as I can remember, I just wanted a Daddy. Uncle Remus has taken amazing care of me. He…he’s been everything, so please don’t worry. As much as I have missed your presence and my mother’s presence, I’ve been so incredibly loved. I want you to know that. I’m like mom. I know she told you I would be. I, am not as successful as she was, I’m hoping Professor Dumbledore will able to help me. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that since you escaped that I’ve seen nothing but darkness. After everything I’ve heard…I just have this feeling in my gut that you’re not what the say. That you didn’t betray us. I have felt your frustration, your anger and your sadness. I know that this is you. Thank you for your gift, it means more to me than anything and I will cherish the  pictures of us always. Dumbledore gave me one of Mom and Remus and then a group shot of the three of us with Lily, James and Harry. Harry and I have become great friends. I guess the only thing I can ask is that you don’t hurt Harry. I’m begging you not to. If I can help you clear your name, just say the word. I know that it’s been over a decade and I don’t remember you, but deep down I know how much you loved me and I love you. I will always love you. Please take care of yourself. I’m worried that you’re on your own.
All of my love-Hope
Sirius felt tears in his eyes. Some of happiness and some sadness that he had missed out on Hope growing up. It didn’t matter what he had to do, he would prove his innocence so he, Harry and Remus could be their oven version of a family. He held the letter to his chest. All he wanted was to know his daughter and for her, Remus and Harry to know he was innocent. That was all that mattered. He knew he had to find a way to get to Hope.

To the fans, thank you for it all we would have never been on this journey without you. To all who made this show possible- we did it. 8 years, wow. Thank you all. Love, Ian
