We pod about Leverage's The Bank Shot Job
Yall! Amanda here, I totally forgot to post here about our latest Show Off pod that dropped Saturday bc to be completely honest my TV brain has been 1000% on Agatha All Along... but I digress! (Follow me @shutupineedtothink for AAA content and theories!)
Let’s go steal a podcast, thieves and grifters! Welcome back to a new round of The Show Off, where we’re talking about episodes of our all-time favorite shows, starting with Amanda’s pick — Leverage, created by John Rogers and Dean Devlin for TNT in 2008.
We chat all about this excellent heist and con procedural and break down a fan favorite episode: The Bank Shot job. We’re talking about some great (and very hot) set design, the unmatched found family dynamic with our Leverage crew, Technical Jargon: Competence Porn and Other Writer’s Room Terms, relationship and character dynamics, interesting costume design on a budget, a whole lotta show don’t tell moments, defeating the villain with their own hubris, a show tagline worth remembering, just a few ridiculous ransom demands, and everyone’s favorite Cowboy Batman.
We hope you enjoy the pod! Leave us a comment/review, and make sure to subscribe for many more Show Offs to come. :)
You can also follow us on Tumblr (yes, really, we needed somewhere to post gifs, cmon): @theshowoffpod
And finally, join the conversation and email us at [email protected]. With your permission, we just might read your email on a future episode of the pod!

WE DID IT!!! In 24 hours, with no marketing help from Amazon or QCode, we got The Edge Of Sleep to #6 on Amazon Prime’s TV page and #9 overall in the USA!!!
This is huge but we can’t let up! If nothing else, we need to honor Markiplier’s request to dethrone Judge Judy from her spot. Also we don’t want Amazon to think this is a fluke if the numbers suddenly drop off. So keep watching TEOS, keep getting your friends/family to watch it, keep posting and hash-tagging it. And definitely watch it on the “official” release day, Friday October 18th, in case Amazon only decides to care about “official” release numbers.
Well done everyone but let’s keep going! Stay awake and keep edging your sleep!
IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM OCTOBER 18th!!!
In a YouTube stream, Markiplier said that the powers-that-be (Amazon, I’m guessing?) are going to be looking at the show’s average performance over a whole 30 days.
So we’ve done a great opening performance for the show’s debut but we’re not out of the woods yet. It’s not a sprint but a marathon. Mark said it’s to be expected that the numbers fluctuate from day to day but the average of the next month will be what’s important.
So now that we have a clearer guideline, we’ve got a month of sleeedging ahead of us. Hopefully it will open internationally at some point (he made it sound like that was in the works) to boost numbers even more. But don’t lose faith! We’ve got this!

walker really wasn't lying when he said that percy was a double edged sword and every side of him had an opposite side too. there are times percy acts very slow, and some times he is the most brilliant strategist in the series. there are times when he cannot understand the other persons feelings, but there are times when he is the most emotionally intelligent character ever (like when he figured out the core dynamics of the legion members by one session and he was the only one in cotg to not lose his maturity when he turned seven). there are times when hes a humble and nice person, but there are times when he lashes out out of short temper. there are times when there are also times when he's acts like a giggly teenage girl dreaming about his kids, and there are also times when he's the most pessimistic bitter person with the whole 'im going to die in a few days, so what?' attitude. percy jackson really is a double edged sword
