Another classic act of dark magic to pass on to the next generation! Nothing more petty than becoming an archmage just to waste all of your energy pouring that same pettiness into adventuring gear that causes those pesky adventurers who foiled your evil plot last tuesday to have fatal “Accidents”.
So sorry to hear that your monk friend’s boots seemed to trip him just as he tried to jump across that crevasse dooming him to fall forever. Slowly.

The Filamentalist
Created and Designed by Jocoso
Filamentalist
A string of light, glimmering with energy, threads through the air as a blade glows faintly with hidden power. A soldier hesitates, feeling their weapon hum with dormant magic, while their adversary stumbles as unseen threads bind their limbs. In the hands of a Filamentalist, the Weave itself is stitched into weapons, armor, and trinkets, spreading magic not just as a personal tool but as a gift shared with others.
Filamentalists are wizards who have sacrificed the immediacy of spellcasting for the art of weaving magic into the world around them. Whether infusing a blade with fire, binding threads of protection into armor, or stitching curses into their enemies, the Filamentalist is both a creator and a controller. Through their mastery, they transform mundane tools into magical instruments, empowering their allies and disrupting their foes.
They walk the line between scholar and artisan, manipulating threads of magic to reshape the battlefield with precision and artistry. A sword is no longer just steel, and a shield no longer just wood—they are conduits of their endless creativity.
Threads of Magic
The Filamentalist’s magic is unlike the blazing fireballs or arcane bolts of traditional wizards. They see the threads of the Weave, the fabric of magic that holds the world together, and they twist, pull, and bind these threads to their will. This magic is most evident in their ability to infuse items with spells: empowering weapons to unleash devastating effects, strengthening armor with shields of energy, and bestowing trinkets with utility spells.
But the Filamentalist is no mere enchanter. In battle, they summon threads of light or shadow, tethering themselves to allies or enemies. These threads heal and bolster, or bind and hex, depending on their wielder’s intent.
Weave and Will
To a Filamentalist, magic is more than a tool—it is a shared experience. Where wizards hoard knowledge and sorcerers channel raw power, Filamentalists believe in collaboration. Their magic is not cast for their benefit alone but stitched into the world, spreading its effects to others. A warrior wielding a Filamentalist’s enchanted blade becomes an extension of their will, a partner in their spellwork.
Whether operating as a commander in battle, a protector of their companions, or an artisan crafting items of wonder, Filamentalists are driven by the belief that magic belongs to everyone.
Strength of Threads
Filamentalists thrive in groups, their powers designed to amplify the abilities of others. By infusing weapons, armor, and trinkets with spells, they become indispensable allies, crafting versatility and adaptability.
Yet, they are not without their own combat prowess. Their eldritch threads allow them to harass enemies with forceful strikes or debilitating effects, while their unique ability, Weaver’s Meditation, grants them the focus to manipulate the flow of battle, buffing allies or weakening enemies with each passing turn.
A Life of Creation
No two Filamentalists are the same. Some are wandering artisans, offering their skills to those in need, while others are brilliant tacticians, commanding from the heart of the battlefield. For a Filamentalist, the act of weaving magic is as much about art as it is about purpose. With every thread stitched, every blade enchanted, and every ally strengthened, they craft a legacy—not through destruction, but through connection.
For the Filamentalist, magic is more than a force; it is a bond, woven into the hearts and hands of all they touch.
The Filamentalist Class
Weavers of the Weave. Guardians of Connection. The Filamentalist sees the threads of magic that bind the world together and uses their unique mastery to create bonds that empower allies, disrupt enemies, and infuse mundane items with magic. They are artisans of magic, sacrificing raw spellcasting power to share the gift of the arcane with others, crafting enchanted weapons and armor, and tethering the very essence of magic into physical form.
A Creator and a Controller. Whether weaving threads to hex an enemy or empowering a companion with their magical gifts, the Filamentalist thrives as a team player. They can bend the flow of battle by imbuing allies’ attacks with destructive spells or by hindering foes through binding threads that sap their strength and will.
Creating a Filamentalist
When creating a Filamentalist, consider your role as a magical enchanter and battlefield tactician. Is your character a wandering artisan, bringing magic to those who need it most? Or are they a scholar, dedicating their life to unraveling the mysteries of the Weave? How did you gain your abilities—through study, divine insight, or an accident that bound you to the threads of magic themselves?
Think about your relationship with magic and whether you use your abilities for personal gain, to aid others, or to disrupt the balance of power in the world.

THE LABYRINTH -
I now have character sheets, and some notes for the races and where they come from! I’m doing a lot of world building for this game. Hopefully I won’t overcomplicate things!
ideally it’s a simple system, I only want to use a d20 rather than lots of dice so it should! Be easy enough! For people to learn!!! Hopefully!!
Hi I am home from kokoro con btw 😅

Ah, the days of my youth. So many of this month’s selections remind me of my wild days before I opened this humble, interdimensional bazaar.
Reminiscing aside, Today we have the Lament Configuration, a special little item that unlocks doors filled with sights you couldn’t even begin to imagine. Guarding? Or Trapped? within those doors however are beings older than the wars of the Celestials and Demons. Older than some gods that you pray to.

Oh, I basically invented this move! Nothing evokes more fear on your conquest than summoning a towering symbol of walking death, and marching it through the center of town. Or several. “Summon Undead Giant” is kind of a lame name for a spell I used to conquer kingdoms, but I guess it has been made easier for consumption.

Ah yes, the Bellsnickle. You ever have that one really cool friend who bring their odd cousin around? I never really understood his whole deal, and I’m an elder - Totally normal supernatural salesman. I’m off topic. Today’s selection will get a definite chill in the air!

The item in today’s showcase is a beautifully crafted wooden box, containing a powerful little potion that grants a little side door in the passage beyond the veil. I’ve been sworn to secrecy beyond that little bit of information, but I can say that this item is worth every copper. If you know the pain of having a loved one pass.

Today’s selection is the grisly remains of the “Cult of the Dreamer”, a cult that worshiped a dark entity from the astral sea who was known to haunt the dreams of mortals. Sounds like him and I could swap some stories. Maybe I’ll send him a message… Huh? Oh. Yes, the gauntlet. It’s said to let the wearer enter the dreams of a sleeping mortal.

This brings back memories, not exactly fond memories but I've felt the sting of this staff. Little upstart god learned quickly.
Regardless, the Monkey King has apparently been separated from his favorite instrument of chaos, and you can now buy it!
