the silt verses treats all of its characters with so much respect and love it's actually genuinely surprising to listen to. even when faulkner's death feels horribly unfair and cruel, it still feels like the only way for him to end. anything else would have been a disservice to his character. carpenter and paige's fates being left ambiguous feels so correct too, because carpenter is a survivor but she deserves her rest, and paige is a revolutionary but she deserves to see her people walk forward without her. hayward taking back his autonomy with his last words, declaring that his death is not a sacrifice to a god or a cause, it's for him and him only.

carson and val, both antagonists actively harming the main cast, would have been so easy to just kill off quickly, the fans would have been satisfied with that. but no. they get their moment too. we're forced to consider their humanity too. she wanted to be a ballerina. he wanted to be a milkman. they die telling each other beautiful lies about lives that were kinder to them, lives where they were kinder to others. it's a beautiful moment, and i genuinely do not think any other podcast has ever given its antagonists this kind of grace and love.

the children of the woundtree leave a memorial for adjudicator shrue, because even though they never got the chance to become a true part of their cause, they died holding tightly onto the same values, and they deserve to be remembered as one of them. in the end, they did find a god that describes them as a candidate after all.

no other podcast, hell, no other piece of media truly and thoroughly loves each and every single one of its characters as much as the silt verses does.

Can't stop thinking about Faulkner Siltverses...After all he went through, all his scheming and manipulating, all his self aggrandizing, i'm not even sure he'll be remembered...Who will pass down his story? Certainly not the legalized parish, trying its best to move on from schism that nearly destroyed it. Certainly not the legislatures, who did their best to blame his atrocities on an unrelated scapegoat. Certainly not his own followers, who are either dead or trying to forget the madman that gave them false hope. Not Sibling Rane or Sister Thurrocks, dead by his hands. Not Brother Flicker or Brother Fade, dead for his cause. Not his enemies, the Katabasians, all killed for his ambitions. Not his sister, perhaps the last one who would have told his story, but her life was cut short before she could.

This man gave up everything, broke a faith in two, killed thousands of people, and for what? Who will even remember his name? He'll be little more than a footnote in the newly sanitized Silt Verses. A charismatic fool. A boy who thought he was special.

Dudes that final episode HURT. I don’t think I can move on, I don’t think I’ve ever consumed media as beautifully written and crafted as tsv.

Saw someone on here comment that they hadn’t seen any art of drowned Faulkner as gruesome as described by Carpenter. So here ya go, bloated face, river lice, crabs and all haha.

that part in the silt verses finale where carpenter is describing how she takes care of faulkner's body then releases him to the river and méabh de brún starts crying broke me.

OOOHHHH THE HAYWARD AND PAIGE OH THE HUMANITY!!!! The fact that Hayward reaches the Grace, sees that it's empty and the first thing he feels out of every possible feeling is relief. All that matters to him is that Paige got away safe and he is willing to do everything to keep it that way. They're last interaction was HEARTBREAKING, I was completely devastated, and the fact that no gods let him be sainted not even the one he helped to make with his own hands and in the end he died in service to no god; the only one that he served was Paige.

listen i know shrues speech was definitely not the only thing that led to val’s final lie, it was just one of the final dominos to fall in her arc for her to come to the conclusion she did, but all that said i think. i just think. i just.

adjudicator temerik "babydoll" shrue really just showed up, served spineless moderate, and promptly got horrifically traumatized while making some of the most miserable, pathetic noises ever recorded. and in the very next season, they were essentially trapped in a torture maze of loneliness and humiliation until they were successfully radicalized, got named anathema by the state, and then just fucking. died on live tv while advocating for mass deicide.

and ever since then, i've been fantasizing about carrying them off into the sunset in my arms bridal style

The Silt Verses... what a show, what a goddamn amazing show. I feel fucking shell shocked, I don't know what to do with myself, besides cry which I've been doing basically since I hit play on the last episode. I have no comprehensible thoughts right now other than the Silt Verses is in my opinion, a high water mark for modern audio drama. Very few other shows come close to doing what this show has done. I'm truly in awe at how Muna and Jon took on such a complex and ambitious project and executed it so beautifully. I can't wrap my head around how much work must have gone into it.

This show is going to remain in a special place in my heart. Jon and Muna deserve a huge fucking break, but when/if ever they start a new project I will be on board on day one.
