Under the cut bc I feel like it’ll get really long

Amelia was my first ever OC and was apart of my first ever AU, TOF (the odd family [of mutants and Yokai])! I still have the MasterPost linked which has a good bit of info on all the involved characters (although that story is discontinued bc of LFMFS and SADA)

Amelia was a failed experiment of Draxum’s that was accidentally created when the lab exploded (the same time the turtles were mutated). Draxum pushed her way too far with her training and never held back his thoughts (that she was pathetic, a failure, etc) and eventually he became too busy to care for her, so he gave he made a deal with Big Mama. The deal was that Big Mama would care for, raise, and train Amelia until she was 14 or 15 (cant remember which), but when Amelia came to the age Big Mama grew fond of her. Because of this, Big Mama manipulated Amelia’s first ever battle nexus fight (which she was SO excited for). Big Mama switched her opponent from Graham, my other oc in the story, to a much bigger, more threatening opponent. That fight ended when Big Mama thought her plan succeeded, when Amelia was horribly injured, missing a horn, and unconscious.

After that fight Amelia felt ashamed of her broken horn, a constant reminder of what she knew her whole life, she was failed experiment… a failure. So, she covered it up. She did what she does best and made a small fashionable hat to cover it up. She practically spent every second of her days inside her room working for Big Mama (she sowed outfits for clients, warriors, and champions). Until her sister Kiki, a friend’s oc who isn’t on tumblr anymore, coaxed her into sneaking out into the city. That first night outside the city she became obsessed. She and Kiki began to sneak out more and more until eventually she had the confidence to sneak out on her own (which Kiki did NOT know about).

On one of her trips with Kiki she found a cat. The cat had a bit of its ear missing just like Amelia had her horn missing. That cat immediately bonded with Amelia, but Kiki in the other hand… they didn’t get along for awhile. Amelia couldn’t bring the cat home, but she could visit it every time they went out (part of the reason she started sneaking out on her own).

On one of these solo trips to hangout with Myla, the cat, she bumped into a strange who was already playing with Myla. She immediately froze up, she wasn’t supposed to interact with anyone in the city. Mikey, the stranger, stammered and apology, but when Amelia saw he wasn’t a human she came back to her senses (somewhat) and accused Mikey of stealing her cat. Mikey explained and apologized again then left.

This happened many times, but instead of yelling and shooing him away, Amelia began to just sit in silence as he played with Myla. Mikey would ask questions, talk about his day, and just talk to her while she sat without a word of acknowledgement. But eventually on one of these trips Amelia’s curiosity got the best of her and she blurted out a bunch of questions at Mikey, who was understandably shocked, but he answered them anyway. After that they started to talk more and more, becoming really good friends in only a few hangouts.

One day when Amelia was out, she saw Mikey being “attacked” by three other people. She immediately jumped in to help her new friend without a second thought. A little fight broke out, lucky for her she was the only one who attacked before Mikey explained the situation. Those people were his brothers, they weren’t attacking they were just goofing off.

Eventually through all of that, she truly meets the Hamato’s, discovers they’re are HER brothers, Kiki plot ensues, then Graham plot ensues.

Okay, I realize I just explained her whole arc and part of the AU… well I hope this counts as “more about Amelia” :D

Snak Eye Sky

Snak Eye Skies are a rare occurrence on the Tooth Islands. The sun will temporarily be replaced by that of a giant Snak eye (as most may have been told at least, some believe it’s something completely different), dimming the landscape, instantly turning a bright sunny day into that of dusk.

During this time, grumpuses must avert their eyes, bow down their heads, and whisper their praises and thanks for being able to survive on the island due to the plentiful Bugsnax. Grumpuses must not look directly at the Eye, or else judgment will occur, as well as a curse.

Once this short period of time is over, grumpuses are allowed to continue with their regular activities.

There are still many questions to have about this occurrence, but it’s said that one specific grump’s experience with a Snak Eye Sky had lead to possibly the most influential moment in Snaktooth Island’s history.

The Hunter

Hundreds of years ago, a Falls Valley grumpus was out hunting for Bugsnax in the blazing sun. They spent their time; perhaps too much of it, hiding perfectly in the shadows, waiting to ambush the next unsuspecting Snak that crosses their path.

After what felt like an eternity, they were alerted by the faint call of a strabby. At an instant, they sprung out from their hiding spot, and grasped the Snak in their claws. Finally, something to bring back home! But…thanks to this Snak, they had wasted so much time waiting around under a tree, and just for a small bug like this?

They’re lucky the sun’s still out…

So, in an act of pure spite and frustration, they dug their claws into the juicy flesh of the strabby, and yanked its wobbly eyes clean out.

The strabby was distressed, crying out and wriggling in their paws; it was probably the first time The Hunter had ever seen a Bugsnak in such disarray. They didn’t even act like this while being eaten! This odd occurrence hadn’t bothered them, though. They were going to eat it anyway, there was no use in worrying about whether or not it could see it happen.

They were finally ready to head back home, when suddenly the world around them seemed to get…dimmer? But it was the middle of the day? The sun was shining on their fur just a moment ago, what happened? Annoyed, The Hunter looked up to see if some grumpling was playing some prank on them.

But the sight they saw was no grumpling, or any sort of grumpus…

It was horrifying.

As if the sun itself had vanished right above their head. That blazing, bringer of day, was gone, replaced by some sort of ring of light surrounding pure darkness. Like an eye—a Bugsnak eye—staring down at them, judging them.

They were getting judged, by some higher being. The Hunter’s fur had bristled like a pine from The Woods, terrified yet entranced by the sight. They stood there, staring straight up until they ended up fainting from the shock of it all.

Waking up after who knows how long, finding their way back home was an incredibly difficult task. Their eyesight had degraded terribly, as if that Snak Eye had put a curse on them. But once they recognized that they were deep in the familiar territory of Falls Valley, they knew they had to alert their leader immediately, and that he in return should notify the rest of the island’s grumpuses as well.

An island-wide gathering was held deep in the night. Thousands of tired grumpuses were confused and aggravated, but The Hunter—The Cursed Hunter and their leader knew their experience needed to be shared to all of the island’s inhabitants. Once they had recounted their horrifying hunt, a number of grumpuses in the crowd were skeptical, but a vast majority were intrigued in their tale, with a few backing up their claim of that strange sudden nightfall in the middle of the day.

When asked what this would mean for the future of grumpus society, The Cursed Hunter exclaimed that this was due to the collective disrespect and selfishness of all the island’s grumpuses. That they have all; especially The Cursed Hunter themselves, had taken the Bugsnax for granted, and they must all pay their dues or else the island won’t stop at cursing one foolish grumpus. This explosion might might've just been a delirious, sleep deprived, post-supernatural-experience rant from The Cursed Hunter, but the Falls Valley leader agreed with everything they had said. He ended up making the call to set an island wide obligation to worship the Snax, as they now all know the immense power these creatures hold.

Many grumpuses were rightfully upset and shocked that he was willing to make a call that the entire island; not just his own territory, should follow, but the other territory leaders had chosen to go along with his decision. Both due to the power the Falls Valley territory has compared to the rest, and the possible power the Bugsnax also have. This wasn’t a risk they were willing to take for their alliance and their subjects.

While the rest of the territory leaders had openly agreed to these new laws, a few had doubts on how beneficial these will actually be for the future of the island and the grumpuses themselves. Specifically the call to hold monthly, day long ceremonies focused solely on the worship of Bugsnax and end with the sacrifice of a grumpus, which definitely shocked a number of grumpuses in the crowd and a few leaders as well. But the Falls Valley leader assured them all that it was a necessary precaution to take to insure the safety of the entire island from whatever power had harmed The Cursed Hunter. And that if any other Snak Eye Skies ever occur again, grumpuses will now know what to do to prevent the possibility of judgment and curses.

The island wide gathering was dismissed, and thousands of grumpus prepared to wake up to a completely new life the next day.

Currently, while the Bugsnak Worshiping laws have either loosened or intensified in certain territories, many grumpuses still pass on the story of The Cursed Hunter and the Snak Eye Sky, ways to remember how much power these strange creatures have over them.

okay sorryyyy long ramble about the dark beginnings teaser/sxs gens in general incoming. i feel like what we see in the teaser is . well "not real" probably isnt the right way to put it but i dont think its an actual direct flashback to shadows past. i think that shadow is trapped in his own memories. most obvious evidence for this is that the whole story of sonic generations is sonic revisiting his past adventures because of the time eater and eggman messing up the timeline so it makes sense that shadows story which is happening at the same time would be a similar situation. also theres these weird glitchy effects at certain points in the teaser which i think are meant to imply something isnt right here

also sidenote absolutely Haunting how maria grabbing his hand is what triggers it and we specifically see gun soldiers among the glitches. anyway. shadow also noticeably gasps/flinches when it happens which makes it seem like he saw it too

also based on all the promotional stuff we've seen so far black doom seems to be the main antagonist of shadows campaign. and its shown in shadows game that black doom has some level of access to shadows mind/memories and will use that to his advantage. like he literally made shadow watch the ark raid again and went "look what they did to you arent humans terrible". so this does feel like something hed be willing to do . or maybe its not Just black doom doing this maybe part of it is also caused by the time eater but the emphasis on black doom makes it seem like hes at least partially responsible

and speaking of black doom i dont think that he literally came back from the dead i think that the timeline being messed up just allowed him to show up again despite being dead. unless theyre gonna reveal that he survived somehow but idk him showing back up after all this time Specifically in a time travel related game makes me think he did die

out of the districts 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 11 what do you think the order is for who wanted to help rebel first or who wanted to the rebel the most, also the least willing rebels, because like I feel like maybe 1 person from a district didn’t want to rebel but their partner convinced them to, or the other way around. there was a fanfic where D5 F wanted to help the rebellion but her district partner didn’t want to and she respected that so she didn’t help, anyways your opinion on that?

So definitley have plans to get into that in TOFS, especially from D6’s side. So don’t think I want to go fully into this because it’s going to spoil future events of the fic :)

Can imagine the D8/D11 victors were some of the first involved in the plan though, seeing how rebelious those Districts are in the book. Definitley think that both of the District partners had to be fully in on the plan. But yeah going to touch on the whole rebellion soon in TOFS, so look forwards to that :)

Side note I remember I saw a post that questioned if the M.Morphling was even involved in the plan at all and in the context of my fic I just imagine this would have happened if that was the case

Divine Brands

Inspiration from @bonefall's honor titles. However, I'm bringing my own twist.

Divine Brands are names given to cats for incredible feats or surviving a situation that should've killed. Most often the latter.

These range from be named by the gods to after a guild's symbol to the event itself.

It's an honor to receive such a name. To receive one is to say you are a demi-god among the mortals. That the gods have given a piece of their power to these cats.

That by definition: you are best of the bunch and you have earned all that has.

To reject a chance at a divine brand is allowed however it is seen as rejecting the gods blessing and many cats can't fathom why a cat would do such a thing.

I an not sure if you are asking me about a romantic partner who would Also happen to be a best friend (kind of in the veins of what his brother and rubin have, or dankovskh has with burakh In My Beautiful Mind), or those as two separate entities....

Andrey has more lovers than he does friends, because he's good at being the former and kinda Bad at the latter. He finds his fulfillment in lovers in places, and in friendship in others. (And in general he's way easier to he a lover of than a friend because by God his ass is kinda sp annoying).

I'm a Vladrey enjoyer in my free time because I think it's Really Funny + since Rubin and Vlad Jr bond over like. Debilitating father issues Andrey cannot escape the 2meters tall motherfucker who's cozying up with his brother. Pretty funny. I think Vlad Jr fell hook line and sinker for Andrey's charm because it's the first person who made him feel like a cutie. Shock to him. Funny to me. I'm also toying with the idea of seeing him with the bartender but this part I think will be less reciprocated because Andrey is still like. His Boss. However that guy was there when he murdered Farkhad and started being like 😳😳😳[AFRAID FOR HIS LIFE] that's fun.

As for best friends as a Separate Thing, Peter is Andrey's best friend. For better and worse. Mostly the worse. I also do think he and Dankovsky are friends of course. Maybe not Best... and maybe the term "best friend" might be an understatement ("and so I am you!") but I think it fits. He does also deeply love Eva as a friend while she still fits under the lover category but I don't like Ship it as per your ask. Shipping is when you Want to see two characters together saur bad you might go goo goo gaga over them and I don't for Eva and Andrey [I acknowledge and am glad it exists I'm just not interested in exploring it or putting much of my attention on it].

Yearh.... andreys friends and andreys lovers tend to be separate things because he has one of more than the other... Peter's his best friend ever ever... his lovers are many but Vladrey makes me giggle the most... he's gonna try to absorb Dankovsky into the hearth of him like magma and dankovskys gonna be like Stop Behaving Like That You Are So Annoying ("keep your dumb head cool")

just finished listening to episode 34 of worlds beyond number, "something to remember you by," which is the end of arc 3 of the wizard, the witch, and the wild one, and i feel sick from how incredible it was. the physical reactions my body made to some of the words and music in this podcast really took me by surprise. i'm still reeling.

some thoughts:

i'm so happy that suvi is questioning the citadel, her reaction to silver's letter was inspired, and i LOVED her interactions with the quartermaster. she's so clever and intimidating (holy shit that was HOT), but i'm worried about what's happening to silver. i have an inkling that the witches may have already started making moves alongside the man in black, and i wonder how that will affect suvi going forward. and going to try and save silver before returning their "precious cargo" to the citadel... i hope suvi can keep questioning, and that whatever she faces, she doesn't let the justification machine run its course any longer.

eursulon meeting up with tefmet was really cool. i enjoyed the return of the strongest man in silbury immensely. it was extremely funny. and then, when eursulon asked to help and succeeded on his persuasion checks, it was solemnly touching. i love eursulon's power being in steadfast support and protection, and how to him, it's not about opposing the citadel in its entirety, it's about saving spirits, great and small, from those who would use them. and that's something he can do while still protecting his true friends.

ame let the chaos OUT this episode, and it was delightful and nerve wracking and thrilling to listen to. she's very bossy and it's so funny to hear how immediately eursulon goes along with it, despite not knowing what "it" is. growing up watching grandma wren, she seems to have gained a natural authority that makes people who love her listen to her when she asks them to perform innocuous menial tasks. but that's also interesting, because her chaos is focused, if imprecise. she knows what she needs to do and will do it, damn the consequences. as long as she can get away, who cares what she leaves in her wake? that's a problem for future ame.

they stole some brass knockers and a lion! they kidnapped nif to save her from being killed by indri! tof burned bright to free a vrock! suvi heads to war, eursulon and ame TO TOMA! (i almost cried when eursulon said those words and the music swelled. what the fuck, lou. what the FUCK taylor and jared. i'm not okay!!!)

and then of course, brockvale. holly hill. the resting place of sir curran of the hawthorn, who unknowingly sent eursulon on a quest that would lead him to our story. the man in black, the pilgrim under stars, the king of knight, the stranger, holds sir curran's shield. he comes to make an offer. will this poor old guard bid a weary traveler to step over this threshold?

this is why worlds beyond number feels so different to me from other dnd shows and podcasts. these artists have come together with the shared goal of not just playing a fun game that they all enjoy, but with the express aim of crafting a brilliant story. i love a goofy campaign full of shenanigans as much as the next person, but i adore how every choice in this show is given weight and meaning. there are no decisions made for laughs. it doesn't feel like playing a game. it feels like living in the story.

and there are also moments like the ending of this episode. a snapshot of elsewhere in the world, something the players don't know, but the audience gets to. it fills out the edges of the story and provides a richer tapestry of lore and reasoning behind the machinations of those who oppose our heroes. it gives life to the tale.

my heart is beating so fast. this show is incredible. thank you, @worldsbeyondpod , for the world you're creating.

I don’t think I’ve posted much about Future TOF so here’s a little idea I’ve had in my head for awhile

Through time travel shenanigans Graham and Casey jr are brought to the past to stop the Krang most things go similarly to the movie except instead of Raph being taken and Krangified it’s Graham

And I had this little idea of what if the Krang eyes were permanent?

Also I think the Krang eyes would be sensitive to light because they were in the prison dimension so long (which means Graham’s eyes are now sensitive to light as well)

And to deal with this Donnie made F!Graham special contacts to block out some of the light, But sense they’re annoying to put in he sometimes uses sunglasses (mainly if he’s just walking around)

(The Future Timeline Stuff mainly focuses on Graham while the Present TOF focuses on Kiki and Amilia)

I fucking love Shadowlands and I am tired of being silent

This is probably gonna be long. TL;DR at the end.

Look, Shadowlands is the second worst expansion this game has ever shipped, besides WoD. I know this is a WILD opening sentence for a defense argument, but I am a romantic, not fucking delusional. This is a fact. Point blank period. The content drought was absurd, the legendary system was completely fucked, the maw in general, the lore reduced Arthas and Garrosh quite literally to dust, The Jailer as the main villain and FUCKING THORGAST, the overall alt unfriendliness, borrowed power cranked to a million, and I have expressed how much of a fucking joke I think putting Pelagos as the new Arbriter was.

It was bad.

This has been stablished, not just by me, but by the entirety of the wow community.

But even though I agree, all these things made the game worse, I still enjoyed my experience, and I have a positive outlook on the expansion overall, which seems to be the greatest sin a World of Warcraft player can commit: I liked Shadowlands. I dare to say I liked it more than I did Dragonflight, if I think really hard about it.

You simply cannot say you liked Shadowlands in the any circle of the WoW community online, from what I have seen. I remember Kraken Latte put it in first place in a rank she made of all expansions and got shit on for days on twitter, with people failing to see what she saw in the game.

Now, I feel like I have pointlessly yapping till now, so without further ado, here are some of the Shadowlands features i like the most:

1 - THREADS OF FATE

I am a simple man, who likes to do 2 things in wow: Mythic+ and leveling. That is pretty much it. I don't PvP, I rarely raid and I occasionally indulge in RPing as a Tidesage on Moonguard. And let me tell you, this baby right here was lifechanging.

Threads of Fate is by far, the single best feature (before Warbands, lol) in my entire World of Warcraft experience. I loved it. I loved it dearly. I don't think I have ever had so much fun leveling 60-70 through Revendreth and Ardenweald with ToF. I still have the route I took memorized, it was SO good. So many bonus objectives back to back to back, world quests and that goddamn gorgeous blue forest had the FATTEST questing hubs in the game.

I was so excited to play this combined with Chromie Time, like IT WAS ON BETA, until it was ruthlessly taken away from me for no goddamn reason AT ALL. Like, what the actual fuck blizzard. Y'all don't understand how delightful it would have been to level like that in ardenweald in the mid thirty levels, right after clearing Loch Modan (or the Silverspine and Hillsbrad, for horde). I barely touched SL since it got removed.

BRING IT BACK BLIZZARD, I AM BEGGING YOU, JUST DO THIS ONE SOLID FOR ME.

2 - COVENANT CALLINGS

Speaking of features I thoroughly enjoyed that were pried from my hands, we have the best iteration of daily quests this game has ever had. They actually worked as good dailies that gave actual gold, was a good reliable source of reputation and was amazing for anima and cosmetics.

This + the recent nerfs to the Dragonracing WQs make me feel like blizzard doesn't like when players make their gold independently, like, jesus christ not all of us have time to be profession moguls.

3 - THE 4 ZONES

What inspired this post was the fact that SL raids are now on legacy loot (if you didn't know, now you do) and I had to go to Bastion to buy the weapons with the thingy that drops from Nathria and...look at this. Just look at this.

This place is one of the most beautiful things this game has to offer. Like, the entire zone is gorgeous byt seeing this for the first time since DF came out legit moved me bro, LOOK AT IT.

And while the covenants were kind of a shit show gameplay-wise, in EVERY SINGLE OTHER ASPECT, it was a 10/10 feature, argue with your mom. Aesthetics, themes, everything, simply gorgeous. Also, it got bonus points from me bcs i really do not like to use training dummies in current expansions because of the sheer amount of people blasting them at any given time, so each covenant having their own Dummy Room, was a ++++ for me.

4 - THE NECROLORDS OF MALDRAXXUS

The Necrolords were the best covenant, their campaign was the best and their characters were the best. Like, come on now.

Draka? Mother. Vashj? Mother. Emeni? Mother. Sin'dane? Mother Stradama? Grandmother. Like, are you kidding me? I know lore was one of the Weakest points of SL overall, but you are insane if you include anything involving these guys. Even the Korthia campaign was enjoyable when they had the spotlight. And I only listed the female characters lmao, don't forget The Primus, Krexus's meme death, the five houses, Morgraine, Grahmal, Marileth, like C'MON!

5 - THE DUNGEONS

Except for the Theater of Pain, and arguably the De Other Side (I personaly love it), Shadowlands has the best overall roster of dungeons in the entire game.

Sanguine Dephts is, in my opinion the second best dungeon in WoW, period, behind only Freehold, Tazavesh is the best Mega Dungeon they ever made. Mists is a banger, Plaguefall is a banger except for the tentacles, Halls of Atonement, Spires (controversial take, ik), Necrotic Wake is amazing, like, you can say whatever you want about SL, but you cannot talk shit about its dungeon design.

Except ToP.

Now, it's getting late so imma speedrun the rest of the items:

6 - COSMETICS

SL changed the transmog game, and all cosmetics from it (all the mounts and sets from all sources) look phenomenal, and if you disagree you are simply lying to yourself.

7 - ZERETH MORTIS

The zone was good and had tons of stuff to do and collect, plus, the introduction to the Catalysts was a plus.

also, nothing will be funnier than Taelia fucking Fordragon being the talking quest bubble for WQs in THE REALM OF ULTRA DEATH

8 - RAIDS

CN: Vibes? Immaculate. SoD: Horrible systems, cool mechanics SoFO: Cool systems, mid mechanics overall a positive for me

9 - CHARACTERS

Already mentioned a lot of characters from Maldraxxus, here are my other faves: Lady Moonberry, the gay unicorm, Denathrius, Theothar, basically ever steward, The Accuser, Kael'thas, General Draven, Remornia and many more.

There are probably more reasons to list to justify my love for SL despite all the bad it has in it, but I simply do not have the mental fuel to keep going rn, i need sleep.

TL;DR: I like Shadowlands despite it being bad and would appreciate it if ppl didn't throw a fit everytime someone talks about it in any sort of positive light. I then listed Threads of Fate, Callings, the first 4 zones, dungeon design, the fuckton of collectibles, characters and the beginning of the shift in game philosophy as positive and valid reasons to be a SL enjoyer.

This game is just perfect. For me, it has become better than other open-world games available (tof, genshin...), at least because of its graphics, plot and mechanics. she surpassed these games in everything, even though she just came out. It is a pity that it is very small, because I have closed almost the entire map, although it was released not so long ago....

and I'm also crying bitterly because Jiyan doesn't come home after 150 attempts 😭

I also really like the main character of this game, and the collage is dedicated to him. He is a very strong character (even, I would say, stronger than all the others at the moment ...), and very ambitious in lore. the large number of answers that can be selected is very pleasing 🥰

She would never harm anyone herself, but her constant presence around The Red Queen means she has seen her fair share of bloodshed. This only serves to fuel her need to spread kindness and joy, even in the dungeons below. So of course when she saw the poor, bedraggled Pearlcatcher all alone in a cell at the very bottom of the castle’s keep, Miss Piggy immediately whisked her away upstairs to castle kitchen, bringing the number of dragons tu ever taste the Queen’s special tea blend up to four: The Red Queen, Miss Piggy, Mallymkun, and The Sky Warrior, Alice…

Miss Piggy is based on the pig that briefly appears in the Burton film for the Queen tof Hearts to use as a foot rest

Here she gets upgraded to The Red Queen’s personal maid, royal tea-maker, and the pinnacle of “I could fix her”

Her and The Knave have ✨drama✨ but also this weird bond based on being in love with either Queen

Wait why are they making people able to quick start Natlan? I guess it can be argued that each region is kind of a self contained story? But even then, why the rush to get to Natlan?

In regard to "each region is a self contained story," I will start by pointing vehemently toward the Dain quests, which are all still part of their respective AQ chapters. So you're at minimum missing out on that lore and context. Additionally, I want to emphasize that Genshin is quite step by step about revealing its overarching plot elements. You're supposed to go into Fontaine and meet dragon sovereign Neuvillette after playing Nahida's chapter 2 and meeting other dragon sovereign Apep. And presumably, those dragon bits are meant to give context to the dragon situation that is being presented as a key part of Natlan. Casually skipping over that progression is...... A Choice(tm).

I don't really have a wide range of experiences with live service games, so I've only really seen this twice, and only one of those times was actually similar.

FGO lets you skip EoR, but EoR was explicitly a kind of filler from the start. It's called "part 1.5" because it's just stalling between the part 1 story and the part 2 story. It's very different from just dropping more than half of your storyline thus far.

So the actually similar example I've heard of is... Tower of Fantasy. A review video I watched fairly recently mentions that, when ToF launched its 2.0 update, they made everything from 1.X past the prologue optional. Presumably this was because they wanted to get new players into newer content faster, but my impression is that this is because ToF's original content just wasn't that good and also it's always been struggling to maintain any relevance.

Is Genshin's situation that bad...? It still ranks super high in the gacha earnings charts, so like... what is going on...

But also, if they are doing badly, they are also putting in the least effort possible for appeasing the playerbase and tempting in new/returning players. Like, if you break down what they were saying, there is so little that's actually changed come 5.0 and the only new reward is... the 5 star standard character selector... of the standard banner that hasn't been updated in 1.5 years... Thanks for the 10 starglitter, I guess??

Idk if it helps but I could definitely see a lot of potential in a Zeke and Hykros Reader. Like, the reader is affiliated with Hykros in some way (being a normal worker there or an executor, whatever would work the best Ig) and accompanies best dad Franz to the Astra Shelter. Ofc he's distrustful, but still polite at first because of his past, his dad-

But seeing them help around the shelter, hanging around with Shirli eases him and makes him warm up to them? God, I just want to see Zeke happy, man deserves so much 😭

The Astra story broke my heart, I just finished that yesterday and 1. the ending made me sad, and 2. King deserves more screentime, he got done dirty with us only seeing him like one time

an: I'm unsure if this is an ask or a ramble, but I'm making something for it because it includes Zeke and oh my god that's perfect because my main character, I hc her lore to be like that too! More notes at end of the post because I'm gonna rant..

ZEKE X EXECUTOR/HYKROS WORKER

Zeke was always unsure, a odd taste at the back of his throat knowing you, a Hykros worker was here at the shelter. Did they have news? Did something happen? He grew weary with his thoughts but he kept a calm exterior. Didn't help that Franz was also with you. They knew Franz, both him and Shirli, quite a bit, but what was truly happening? Something had to be happening.

They seemed nice though, waving to the people and coming here to just help. .. help, huh? They were good on their own, right? Why would they need help? It was nice, but he was of course weary, his face tense. Shirli swore his eyebrows would stay furrowed with how he always had them such a way!! Zeke grew a bit more softer with his sisters nagging.

Astra Shelter was getting the extra help it needed, Shirli also talking with you and you keeping her in check..unless you and her were also secretly going out the shelter? Oh, how he seemed like a mother hen. You seem trustworthy though..he couldn't help but wonder more.

You had a few conversations with him, he didn't really seem too talkative though. You do meet up a bit more often as Shirli likes to have you as a trio, a group of friends. That brought you two to talk more, Zeke slowly warming up more and more. Maybe, just maybe, you were trustworthy, someone to lean on when his work gets too stressful. He was the leader basically, he has so much on his shoulders..he wants to keep everyone safe, but most importantly Shirli safe.

It was yet another time of having some fun as a trio, fun being taking care of some plants. Shirli was chatty as ever. Zeke could only watch you two giggle and laugh about something, a joke she made. Somehow, Zeke felt himself slowly smiling, faint. Seemed he grew attached and comfortable after the weeks, maybe a month of getting to know you and trust you.

Maybe, just maybe, you'll be the help and friend he'd need. Maybe even more? Now he feels more hopeful. He internally thanks you, for making Shirli more brighter than she already is and also coming here at a right time, when stress was high. Who knew a Hykros worker would be such a saving angel? He looks back down at the soil, internally thinking..

“ Thank you. ”

notes: Zeke..Zeke...he's so amazing as a character I always sob about him he changed me forever, my favorite character in ToF. The story was so sad and then how he is, a bit stern but he just wants the best. He'd be the best friend and/or lover.
