They'd wear your style or even your clothes, they'd get into hobbies you used to have, they'd buy a mannequin and dress it up to be similiar to you and kiss it goodnight and goodmorning every time they fall asleep or wake up, and they're also gonna spray everything in their room or house with perfumes you used to use.

Mizuki would instantly go into protection mode whenever they see someone even being around you! So when you're having conversation with someone... they know to immidietly join it so they know what they're standing on here...

If it really is just a friendly chat, and they see a smile on your face, they MIGHT let you hangout with that person from time to time... but only if they're around too!!

If it's straight up flirting... they don't even wait for you two to be alone, they just start to make a scene for whole place that you're in, fake-crying that you cheated on them. So if the person won't walk away with shame, they will by you completely ignoring them. Because how can you not comfort your lover~?

As we know, Mizuki is manipulator, and they don't want to get there r hands dirty either! So they do something they're good at~ nasty rumors~ They're already seen rarely at school, if they spread few rumors here and there, people won't even suspect them! Because how could they, when they weren't on any lesson for 2 weeks and rumors vegan going a week ago? It can't be them! And to have even better alibi~ They pretended all 2 weeks to be sick, so even you can confirm it couldn't be them!

But sometimes, they may choose safer option and just create alt account, and if irl rumors won't break their target, they'll make sure that THEIR threats and photoshopped photos going all around internet would!

And they won't even comfort you much about it... they'll just tell you it's not important right now and you should focus on them instead to take your mind off unpleasant things!

Mizuki's trust is at a low level... they'll always be scared you're gonna leave them at some point, that's why they're always following you and being so clingy all the time.

Their trust may change a little bit with time... if you play your cards right and find a friend group that they accept and feel sure you'll be safe with them, they might let you hangout alone with them every now and then... but only if you won't spend TOO much time with them! You have a lover after all... and they can't be left alone for longer than 3 hours! Or you might never brush them off ever again...

i mentioned before, but i don't like leaving my things unlocked after the ai craze had started. my ao3 is locked for user-only too, and i know it cut off a sizeable portion of my audience (which is always a shame and a downer), but i'm not willing to back down on this one. some people reached out to me because they were interested in seeing what i had to offer, and i've sent them invitation links to ao3. now, they're quite avid users, there.

this is more of the same. i'm more than willing to share invitation links to pf, right now i have 50 to spare, and will be able to give more with time - if there will be a demand for even 50, in all honesty. if people want to check what's in the link, it's a rather easy fix.

said fix would require some effort on the reader's part, no denying that, but if they can't spare three clicks to see artists who are unwilling to budge on this ai shitfest and are moving elsewhere... well. then i won't be the one to blame for the lack of trying, here. i've offered ways how to find me and solutions on how to reach me. and based on how the poll is going, some were only here for reblogs. which is fine, too, in all honesty. i get it that writing is far less clickable than art, for example.

A content creation horror story

This is a long one, but my mind can only contain so much madness.

So yours truly decided to start an online presence.

I want to write and be a creative as a vocation, and it was time for me to build the bridges that would connect me to an audience.

My first bridge was built Wordpress, where I'm uploading a web serial currently. It's not terrible, check it out.

Degenerate self-promotion aside, I was quite excited to see who my first subscribers were, people who got to me through the Wordpress Reader, the feed of all the posts made in the platform.

A couple of human-seeming accounts, they had that soulful controlled randomness to them, along with the kindness to give my stuff a chance. I checked their blogs back, until I stumbled on a particularly canine one.

A pomeranian blog.

I have considered against outright saying the name of the blog or the name that the creator goes by because 1, saying their names might bring more power unto them and 2, I don't want to be cruel.

It's carnage trying to get the blind behemoth of the internet to set its eyes on your content. As long as their methods are not malicious, I am hard pressed to judge someone for how they do the grind. That's why I'm also pasting screenshots that are not too revealing.

It's all gray.

(This is all true for how creepypasta it sounds. I swear to god.)

But yeah, pomeranians.

Pom-poms galore.

The blog howled till its chords were raw about the beauty and caretaking needs of the dog breed, to a point of an almost hypnotic suggestion of it's necessity.

Odd, but garden-variety odd. The internet has seen wilder bursts. I thought that until I took a closer look at the furballs.

Like stuck between mediums, not quite a photograph and not quite a digital painting. Both too blurry and too sharp.

A fraction more odd to my expectation, but still adhering to logic in function.

I can perfectly picture a Pomeranian enthusiast, with unbridled energy and capacity for writing of the children of the German Spitz, but incapable of illustrating their texts on their own. Perhaps wanting to avoid the legal headache of copyright with their incomplete understanding of it, they turn to AI (which is a copyright nightmare of its own, but I digress) in order to get their images.

Cut and dry.

But I wanted the character I had conjured to be real, their love for Pomeranians real, so I checked the posts' content.

I'm not an expert, but the text does have a mechanistic aftertaste to it. Huge amounts of fluff (heh) with aimlessly vague topics. No citations of experts of any kind. No personal experiences with their own pom puppies. No typos.

You've got around 3500 words a post, putting them in a word counter. So, how many posts?

I just wanna express my appreciation towards you.

You're an amazing gift to this community. I started feeling a lil uhhh scared? Reserved? Around you. Maybe cuz it's your theme being monochromatic and very aesthetic, and how you form your words and sentence. It's like... Very well thought out and trying to keep things neutral, which is very opposite of the chaotic me.

However, that aspect of you gives out a peaceful vibe as well. There's a slow sense of secured comfort, where people can just rest here and read your PACs with a cup of tea in hand.

I know we don't really interact much but I think (and feel) that there's a mutual respect that we have with each other. I mean, we do respect each other and other people, but maybe (just maybe) the mutual respect we share is slightly different? It's more than just mutuals, but we can take that further. Can we be closer friends?

I've been reading this as I woke up but I needed a little time to collect my thoughts (and go training) before answering you: I am not that used to receive so much appreciation from someone heh. This said, let me tell you you made my day: I've been smiling reading through the whole ask. :)

I'm sorry I'm not as good at expressing the emotions I feel as you are. It's something I still have to work on (yay emotional abuse!). Maybe this is what makes me look scary and closed off at first, or maybe it's also cause I don't really take too much part in the community either (not even from my other main account: sorry everyone, I am like this lol I tend do change my mind and follow my guts a lot). It may be because of a not so good experience back when I didn't have good boundaries (which made me come back with pretty strict ones before finding a new balance), and because that's what I realized I should do from the *often implied* feedback I get: people are here for what I can give them in terms of readings and advices or messages, they don't care that much about me as a person (and I accept that ofc! not judging anyone: this blog is about tarots, not about me), so I don't often share much of myself nor I tend to dm to too many people unless I feel there can be mutual interest of any kind.

Differently from you, I'm also pretty introverted I guess lol. But I am very happy that at least in my readings and answers you can find a bit of peace and comfort cause that's what I feel is my main job here and on my other blog too. Hi friend!! Sorry I haven't answered this, actually the same day you sent this I got dropped from the vet clinic I was interning at so that's the main reason I haven't answered yet lol, because I've been trying to process that for the past few days (and also had finals to deal with :P )

But just to clarify, I'm not a vet tech just yet - I have two years left of school unfortunately before I can graduate and take the VTNE but I can tell you how the program is going at least!! I'm about to start my fifth semester (out of 9) and it's gone pretty well so far, though my study motivation has gradually dropped throughout each semester so I'm gonna really try to lock in this coming semester lol. Whenever you start, DEFINITELY make sure to study a few hours a day!! Especially because there is a ton of information you have to learn, and it can be difficult to remember it all, so I think the best thing is just to review it over and over and over till you're pretty much sick of it. (Something I haven't been doing a great job at, but I definitely need to because before I know it I'll be taking the VTNE, heh). So yeah, definitely be sure to study A LOT!!

Also, the program I'm in is an online one, which...I would NOT recommend doing online tbh (could just be my experience though :) . I chose online because I thought it might be less stressful/expensive, and it's definitely more affordable, but the program I'm doing (and most online vet tech programs, from what I understand) requires you to take what they call "mentorships," and in each mentorship you have to film and submit a certain number of videos with ultra-specific criteria. This also means you have to find a vet clinic willing not only to teach you, but to also let you film videos with signed supervision from a DVM or LVT, and as an introvert that has been a nightmare 😭 The clinic I was interning at was...not the best environment, especially for a student. I started seeing and experiencing a lot of red flags the longer I was there till they finally dropped me without warning, so my experience in the field so far has been pretty sour and discouraging. However, I'm currently seaching for a new clinic that will be more healthy to be in, so I'm not giving up or anything!

But, I will say, vet med is a super difficult field to go into mentally, emotionally, and physically. I follow a ton of vet tech accounts on instagram and have read a lot of things about it online, and have therefore discovered that most techs don't last long in the field before burning out. LVTs are in super high demand right now because so many of them burn out quickly due to rotten clients, toxic workplaces/bosses, super low pay, compassion burnout, trauma from abuse cases and euthanasias, and a whole lot more. I knew this before I started my program, and still it was really, really hard to get used to, along with my first experience being in what I would probably say it's safe to call a toxic clinic. I guess it was a good thing I had such a terrible experience straight off because now I'm prepared for any similar experiences in future, but again, it's a really tough field to be in. I'm not saying this to scare you off or anything! Just that it's going to be really difficult some days, and you're going to come home sobbing at times and won't be able to shake images from your head for a while. But they do fade, and they do get better, and you grow and learn from them and become even more inspired to help. And there are definitely a lot of great clinics out there, so not all of them are toxic either :) (though I've heard many are because of stress/overwork/burnout, so I imagine you do have to be choosy in finding a good one)

But anyway, my very little experience in the actual field itself so far was mostly fun aside from all the above. In the few months I was at that clinic before it really started going downhill, I was shown various procedures/tests/etc and got to do a lot. I did very much enjoy all the things I got to do, and I think you will too, so keep working towards it! I'll have to make an update post sometime once I've found a better clinic, and I hope this post hasn't scared you off at all 😅 Just again, I would (personally) recommend finding an in-person program to do, because that way you'll be doing all your stuff on-campus instead of having to call/email all these random clinics till you find one that's willing to accept/teach you (unless you're an extrovert who's okay with that, lol, or unless you want a more affordable option!). Hi CS from ao3 again :) the baby will be a wonderful new beginning for declan and kai regardless of their gender so it's up to you (but you know what I'm partial to heh) so I'm excited about how you'll present that! Also looking forward to Timber's cameo because that will certainly be something... Dare I say the final step of the unknown in the monomyth... Regarding Declan: honestly, it's so fascinating how he is Everything and Nothing at the same time... It's hard to articulate what I think about him because it's such a delicate thing... Above all I'm evidently obsessed with his relationship with Kai because that's the setting where his character virtues and flaws flourish to their maximal extent just because of how complex their relationship is. I think Declan walks on eggshells around everyone he loves because he's perpetually scared of being "found out". Found out for what? He doesn't even know it himself. Found out for being a fraud, for being the villain, for being a bad husband, a bad person, a bad son, a bad brother, a failed son, a failed heir. Found out for not being the Declan (more like Declans, plural, the million and one Declans he created to make up for the fact that he's him) that everyone thinks he is and wants him to be. His relationship with Kai is both a release and a prison, and the only thing he needs to do for it to stop being the latter is to break free from himself which he cannot bring himself to do. There is soo much hatred that goes into his self-perception, he aids and abets every person that comes to swing at him. I think that this relationship with WDB is so interesting because that's his family but also he is in exile? self-imposed exile? The way he describes them at times it's like he's on the outside looking in but that's not true. He's there. He's wanted there. I think he finds refuge in the lighthearted moments with them because when he gets too into his head he reads into everything and bathes in the calamitous mistakes he's done (eg with Ben), but like, that's his family, he knows that, but family is fucked to him, like the concept isn't the most cohesive, it's too abstract, has too much teeth, not picture friendly, it doesn't make sense (that fucked picture of the family isn't being helped by the idea that the man he loves might be having the kid of the man he couldn't give up on). He'll kill himself before he goes to them because he thinks he's too much, I honestly think he sees himself as a burden in an empty room. 5) What's a fic idea you've had that you will never write?

I don't think I have had any ideas for Kathony fics that I will never write. If I have, the reason that I will never write them is because I have forgotten them. I did once send in a prompt to a Philoise prompt account, though. Because I love the idea, but I don't write Philoise, except as side characters/subplots to Kathony. A modern day high school or college AU along the lines of You've Got Mail. Philoise become email pals not realizing that he's the shy kid who only seems interested in plants, and she's the outspoken girl who never lets anyone get a word in edgewise.

I also, back in my Haylijah days, had this epic fantasy idea that basically followed the plot of the show. It involved the Mikaelsons being princes and princesses in exile. Marcel was the childhood friend that they thought had usurped them, but was actually just holding the kingdom together until their return. Hayley was the long-lost crown princess of a neighboring kingdom. There was this whole thing with Dahlia being a witch who kidnapped Freya as a child, and was after Hope because of a prophecy that if the Mikaelsons' kingdom ever united with Hayley's it would be the end of Dahlia. Except Hope couldn't unite the kingdoms, because Klaus isn't actually a Mikaelson, so Hope isn't in line for that throne – but Elijah marrying Hayley would do it. It was a lot, and seriously ambitious, and I never wrote a single word of it. LOL

But, if anybody ever writes that Philoise story, please send me a link.

She stared at him. Objectively speaking, he was a very handsome man. Even she had to admit that. And there was a kindness in his eyes, and a small smile on his lips. Lips that she was sure a lot of women would consider to be quite kissable. She had no such interest, though. “I have to say that when Agatha called me into her office, this is the last thing I was expecting.”

Mr. Bridgerton – Anthony, if she was going to do this, she had to start thinking of him as Anthony – nodded. “Same. When she came up with this idea to fix the mess I had made, I hardly expected her to actually produce a girlfriend for me. But, before we make any final decisions, we should talk about what we each expect, and why we're doing this.”

“That makes sense.” Edwina closed her eyes for a minute, trying to collect her thoughts. “I'm really doing it for my sister. His smile fell. “I fucked up. Quite literally, actually. My sister is going into Politics. There's a special election coming up. She has a real chance. Except that I managed to be photographed in bed with her opponent's wife. It was all a misunderstanding. I didn't know she was married. But, if it gets out, nobody is going to care about that. I've spent half my life taking care of my siblings. I refuse to let my sister take the fall for my mistakes. Agatha is hoping that if I fabricate a girlfriend I'm hopelessly in love with, even if Daphne's blackmailer goes public with the photos, nobody will believe that I would cheat on you. Well... her... you if you're really sure you want to do this.”

It was insane. Completely insane. But, she thought of the way Thomas had looked at Kate when they ran into him. He was still in love with her. They could make things work, if Kate would just let herself be happy, for once. She raised her chin. “I'm sure. So, I suppose we should get to expectations. I'll be honest, I'm not looking for anything from you, except that you be convincing for my sister so that she thinks I'm taken care of. Are you a good actor, Anthony?”

“I'm decent. I've been playing the part of a man who has all the answers for years. What about you? I only need to convince a country full of strangers. If I understand your reasons well enough, you're going to be lying to your own sister. Somebody who I presume knows you quite well.”

“Trust me, I'm a lot better than anybody could ever guess.”

“Good. As for expectations, other than the same thing you need of me – that you be convincing at least for the people who need to be made to believe it – my only other requirement is that you be careful to not actually fall in love with me. I'm not looking for anything real, here, and I don't want any misunderstandings between us on that score. Or to inadvertently hurt you because you catch feels when I don't.”

Edwina laughed, nearly hysterically. “No offense, but you... aren't my type.”

“Should I be insulted?”

“Not at all. Just...” She took a deep breath. There weren't very many people who knew what she was about to tell him. But, he was putting his sister's entire Political career in her hands. The least she could do was give him honesty in return. And if he turned out to be a bigot, then she would put an end to this, and he could find somebody else to help him save Daphne. “You... Aren't my type. Though, if you have any sisters that look like you, things could get interesting.”

Anthony frowned, and Edwina shook her head and stood to leave. Before she could say anything, he grabbed her wrist. “I don't have a problem with that. Makes things easier, honestly. But, how is this going to work if your reason for doing it is to get your sister off your back?”

“Like I said, I'm a lot better actress than anybody could suspect. If I could pretend not to be in love with my uni roommate, I can pretend to be in love with you. Not even Kate will know any different.”

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Generally I don't write unhappy endings, since I write what I want to read and I want my characters to heal once I shatter their souls in a million pieces <3 but oh boy am I the king of ambiguously-angsty endings. One that stands out is lost in your drunken haze, or maybe The Sorriest Stage (from Good Omens and Star Trek, respectively).

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Hmmm, most of them have really happy endings!! Or at least content ones. I like wrapping my blorbos in fluffy blankets and giving them hot chocolate heh. wood smoke and sugar and Pride Of Place are pretty euphoric, though :]

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Thankfully not much, so far. Constructive criticism that is more 'criticism' than 'constructive', certainly, but not outright hate.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Oh, absolutely! It's not a main focus of mine, but I've written my fair share of characters knocking boots. Usually only as part of longer stories though, not stand-alone fics. Always consensual and sweet (but hopefully hot too!). I like writing gender-diverse characters exploring those parts of themselves, as well as tackling themes of sex-positive asexuality in my works.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Crossovers have never really appealed to me, so I haven't publicly posted any. I've started a couple, but they never went anywhere.

I only have one abandoned WIP right now (wahoo! here's to stubborn author's guilt) and I don't think I'm ever going to finish it. Looking back, the plot isn't great and it feels slightly immoral writing about real-life people who I no longer ship together, so I think that one's gonna stay unfinished. At least I left it on a good note so nobody gets mad about a cliffhanger. lol

I think I'm pretty good at writing evocative descriptions, and I'd say I'm alright at doing scenes of cuddles/casual intimacy (my favourite tropes in the history of forever)!! And I'm pretty stubborn, so once I set my mind to something I'll generally finish it.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I'm impatient, so I tend to miss things or not edit enough once I've completed a draft. I also have a million ideas, barely any of which actually get written. I've filled notebooks upon notebooks with plots and motives that will never be expanded upon or even looked at again.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Personally I don't do it very often. My native language is English but I know a bit of Spanish and Italian, so I feel relatively confident if I ever need to add dialogue in those languages. Usually I'll add context within the fic as to what the character has said, or write it out in italics at the end of the paragraph. For alien languages I'll use a translator, since there isn't much of a direct comparison. If I need to write dialogue in a language I'm completely unfamiliar with, I'd probably go to someone more knowledgable than me and ask for their help so as not to screw it up and be insensitive. :)

19. First fandom you wrote for?

I believe it was She-Ra and the Princesses Of Power (reboot). Thankfully those fics never saw the light of day. First fandom I wrote for and posted was One Direction (I shudder thinking about those dark days lol).

5. Do you respond to comments?

I try to but I always get really busy/tired and then it's been so long it feels like it would be weird if I did. Plus, sometimes my answers by nature of the comments can get repetitive and then even though I'm being sincere I feel insincere which sucks. However, if a comment has a direct question or something I actually have like, something unique to say about, I'm much more likely to respond sooner rather than later/never. I appreciate every single comment soooo much though literally my motivation to get through the day like 80 percent of the time

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I'm going to stick with Ted Lasso fics here since I have so many fics posted and this is my Ted Lasso sideblog and say... well, most of the time I have a bittersweet ending and then some sort of hopeful epilogue (such as with ink sunset and make a mess of you) but I guess betrayal's sting / absolution's balm or something to get off my chest may qualify?

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Uhhh, honestly, most of them are happy endings. I think trick & treat and matters of the heart end on particularly high notes?

Oh, yeah, baby. So much. Not sure what "kind" means in this context. It sure is explicit smut. I have tended almost exclusively towards hot transgender sex the last few years because. yknow. hi. but somehow I don't think that's the intention in the question.

I do, but I haven't posted a lot. Only one on this account (a Gravity Falls x The Mysterious Benedict Society crossover that started as a joke because of a shared actress) although I had an interesting Shadowhunters x The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess fusion on my other account. I've written some pretty weird WIPs, though. And I've got some posts about Ted Lasso crossover/AUs, like a Sarah Jane Adventures AU, a Pushing Daisies AU, a Stardust AU... You can find that kind of thing in this tag on my blog.

Yes. Not in this fandom, though, as far as I'm aware.

Oh, man, I don't know if I can decide. Magnus/Alec (TV version only I'll die on this hill) will always hold a special place in my heart, but I've got other "obsessed with this when I was a kid" ships and also recency bias/current hyperfixation means Trent/Ted screams as an immediate answer, and so on and so forth. I'm bad at picking favorites. Overall, I'd probably say one of those two, or both.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Sticking to Ted Lasso again (I have. so many MBS WIPs. god.) I'd say lost sight of (who you are) (lost motivation, want to finish, fuck!!) or sweeter than heaven (hotter than hell) (got mad at it), or!! oh!!! ink sunset (stuck) and possibly the next installment of matters of the heart. Yeah, I have a problem

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think I'm pretty good at being funny and also at eloquent but perhaps a little too verbose metaphors. I love me an elaborate metaphor

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

It's hard for me to focus and get what I have in my head out sometimes, even when I really want to. Whether it's being unable to organize or just my brain flat-out refusing to cooperate and do anything. Also, I'm way too like. easily discouraged with lack of feedback, and even a little negative feedback can kind of ruin my week and make me never wanna go back to that story ever again.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I just realized. The questions seemed familiar but I wasn't sure why and now I know, now that I've gotten to this question. I have done this game before and I remember bc of this question. I was confused bc it was under a different name, I think the questions were in a different order, and it was sometimes slightly differently worded but nope! This is the same one! Weird Anyway, just for this particular question, I'm going to copy-paste my old answer because I'm lazy. I’m extremely bad at linguistics in general, so if I must include someone talking in another language in my fic, I think I’d tend to cheat and do italics or some other indication that this is ‘in another language’ (ie “Where are you going?” she asked in Russian), but that’s admittedly a lazy approach. But I also think it’s probably better than butchering it with an auto-translator? Also, when people just include the translation in the end notes, even with a link (although that makes it marginally better) it breaks the flow of the story and makes it hard to read. Making an effort to at least match grammar is good (which I would do if it was for longer than a single scene, probably) but I think the best solution is when people know what they’re doing and like, have an actual translation with a little html code so you can click on it and it reveals what it means? Or if you’re clever, revealing what it means using context around it, but that has its own limitations. So that both like, uses the actual language and doesn’t break up the flow. It balances accessibility, flow, and respect for the other language in question well. But you’ve got to both know what you’re doing with the language (either asking someone/hiring someone/knowing the language yourself) and the html (although there are guides for that you’d have to spend time figuring it out + know it exists in the first place to look). And this is fanfiction, something we ultimately do for free in our spare time, so the lazy approach, I think, can be understandable. Maybe not in every context, but it’s not worth stressing a lot over in a few random lines or anything, you know? It is really cool when people do know a language well enough to include it properly in a fic, though, it can say a lot about a character or dynamic; and their background(s) and like. it’s neat :)

With quivering breath, he read the message his son had for him.

Papa Arc: (Reading) "...I miss you, Dad."

hey howdy hey! first off, i wanna say that ive been following dialtown since it was a wee baby demo and i have loved to see every inch of progress it has made. i love this game to bits. i can't accurately express how much of a comfort game it is to me, or compliment the writing enough, but rest assured that i believe it's a fockin masterpiece (even if that means i am damned to hell. i welcome u, phone-satan)

that being said! woe be upon ye, i have lore questions for ya (and i'll probably ask more at a later date)

i would love to hear more about callum crown. literally any detail(s) you can comfortably give that wouldn't spoil a potential sequel or that 30-page lore doc (tho , gotta say, i wanna see that lore doc real bad).

you've said before that you'd like to expand on the singular timeline (how all of the routes coalesce in chapter 3) in dialtown, but that it's tough to put the words you have on paper into words on tumblr. i've got time. lemme read info on the timeline i beg of you

is there any particular reason that phonegingi's head resembles callum's, to the point that callum's 3D model head uses gingi's as a base?? there are hints (i use that term loosely) on your blog that gingi might have modeled their head after callum's. is there anything to that?

moreover, i'd like to know if there's more of a connection between callum and gingi than the heads alone. i mean, gingi literally hears callum's voice before hearing anything about the guy, and they can also somehow read his postcard (without the narrator) DESPITE being illiterate?

finally, a silly one, since winter is upon us! how does norm handle dialtown's winters, being a native arizonan/texan and all? as somebody who lived in arizona, lemme tell ya, the folks there don't take kindly to winter.

Some really interesting questions here. I could write an essay in response to some of these questions, which means you’ve undoubtedly asked some good questions heh. You're a sharp one. Lemme answer these as best I can without anticlimactically revealing essential lore in this random tumblr post heh heh

The stupid thing about that lore doc is that it should be even LONGER. While parts of the Dialup are explained, parts are left out, because I realized that explaining it would require adequately explaining a piece of very strange context regarding another character. Long story short, it connects to something that should ordinarily be very far removed from Crown's tale, so I left it out. I actually left entire pages out to avoid having to explain who someone previously unmentioned in the doc was. Crown's story is funny in the sense that so much of it is why Dialtown (both the game and the city) is the way it is, but the main story of Dialtown is so far removed from it, the only connections to it remaining being Mingus/Norm's beef. Norm's account of Crown's life isn't exactly inaccurate, no one thing he says is technically incorrect, but it misses vital context that completely changes parts of it. Norm missed the end of Crown's presidency, so he also had to learn from revisionist/secondary sources. Some parts are overly detailed, while other parts aren't. EG: Crown's early life has a LOT of focus, but as the timeline gets closer to the end, the detail slows down. Crown's two years of 'honorary leader of the UN' is brushed over, a title that implies he had control over the entire world briefly. As Norm's extras menu implies, Norm is (just like in Mingus) in partial denial about aspects of Crown's leadership and is also in the dark about the behind the scenes stuff from Crown's presidency. Crown's vice president (and best friend, Milton R. Wallace) ended his life after falling out with Crown over the Dialup, and the postcard read in chapter 3 heavily implies that Marla had returned to Dialtown without Crown after he left office. Since Mingus exists, we know Marla + Crown had at least one kid together. Could you imagine trying to raise a young family with the most powerful man in the world, a man who plans his day down to the hour, all without even having a permanent address? Crown’s final days were lonelier than Norm knows and I’d love to discuss them more one day.

Any instance in-game where time seems to be falling apart, there’s common visual signs that reality itself is tearing apart at the seams, hell, even outside of the main endings. Only one character in the cast seems to be really aware of this and... Well, seeing God binge-drinking on the curb is usually a bad sign of what’s to come. Hitchcock’s advice for writers who wanna add suspense to a scene is to make people unaware of something significant that’s about to happen. Example: Two men sitting at a table in a diner, talking about something, say, like football... Not a massively suspenseful scene. However, add a live bomb underneath the table, and establish that neither of the men know that it’s there, and every second of that scene will feel like hours, as you hope to GOD that one of the men will look under the table and notice the bomb before it goes off. The bomb under Dialtown’s ‘table’ has a long fuse, but the clock’s ticking down. A lot of what people have noticed regarding Dialtown’s time fuckery is a symptom of something (or someone?) desperately trying to plug up holes in a sinking ship. Anyway, I think I’ve said enough.

Callum Crown’s fame makes it impossible to tell if there really is any connection between him and Gingi’s appearance outside of an eerie coincidence. If Gingi’s head resembled a frankensteined JFK, I don’t think anyone would think for a moment that it meant that JFK and Gingi shared a direct connection, of course, and same for say, Mr Bean and the like. But Crown himself also being connected directly to Norm + Mingus makes it strange. Maybe it’s just the universe’s weird way of doing things, or maybe caused by an intrinsically unknown force? Maybe whoever built Gingi’s phone head just felt that it should look like the most powerful man on earth? Lotta possibilities. I mean. Like, I know the answer. But, for you guys, maaany possibilities!

The big issue with the question, of course, is how utterly abnormal Gingi is. God outright implies that Gingi is some sort of time anomaly, since he’s never seen anything quite like Gingi before, and with some of Gingi’s 4th wall breaking dialogue, it seems Gingi has some fleeting awareness of events in other timelines, somehow. That’s excluding Gingi’s weird biology or the fact that Gingi can hear sentient voices. Gingi is unique. You’re right that Gingi being able to hear Crown is abnormal, and combined with, like you said, them having similar appearances (and hell, I’ll add fuel to the fire: how transfixed Crown was with Gingi in that memory Mingus tearfully recounts during the climax, the one where Crown stares at Gingi while Gingi rummages through the garbage outside his window at the nursing home), there’s enough of a connection to be weird, but not enough of one to say anything conclusive. In my eyes, though, I reckon that some universal force could be drawing these two weirdos together, almost like a moth to a lamp. Birds of a feather.

You said to yourself—grumbling as you continued to fail on putting eyeliner on your fox eyes. Attempting to speed up the process and only failing miserably.

“Ugh.. C'mon, just—make that nice curve and let's finish!” You growled, grabbing your make-up remover and wiping the failed stroke on your lids, not noticing that your boyfriend who has been watching you the whole time walking towards you.

“Babe, you almost done?” Suna asks with a chuckle, whispering to your ears, sending shivers down your spine—and causing you to whip your head to him.

“....Rin! You shocked me there... Anyway, give me five more minutes—!” You huffed, only to be pulled by your boyfriend to his lap on the bed.

“H..Hey, Rin, we're gonna be late, no time for, uh, this.” You muttered, averting your eyes away from his—receiving a smirk from the male.

“What are you talking about, babe? I'm just...” Trailing his words, Suna reached for your eyeliner with one hand, while the other stayed on your hip, holding it firmly and lowering you near his crotch.

“..Gonna do your eyeliner.” He continues, waving the product in front of you with his usual lazy look, while your cheeks heat up in embarrassment—thinking of something else.

“Ah, uhm, is that so? T..Thanks, I appreciate it. Do you know how to, though..?” Stumbling on your words, you placed your hands on his chest and asked him if he could—doubting your lover's skill in doing so.

“Of course, I'm a pro at it, heh..” He cooes, a finger taking your chin and pulling it close to his face. A quick kiss given to your lips before he opened the eyeliner. Preparing to make your fox eyes even more prettier.

“Just wait and see what I can do. I'll make you more prettier, babe. Prettier than you are now.” Smiling, he scanned your other eye that has an eyeliner before going to the other—drawing a quick stroke that matched it while you still sat on his lap. Amazed by your boyfriend, as per always.

“So, how's this?” Handling you a small mirror, Suna presented his work to you smugly, as you gasped—loving it.

“It's perfect! Thank you, Rin!” Leaning forward, you embraced the male who buried his face on your neck, drawing circles on your back.

“Mhm... Now we match. Fox eyed couple, yeah?” Suna says, kissing you once again and looking at the mirror with you—comparing your fox eyes with his.. “Yes.”
