Back on Form and Ready to Create!

I’m thrilled to report that I’m finally free of that pesky sore throat that had been bothering me. It’s always a relief when your voice feels strong again, especially when podcasting is part of your routine. Thankfully, I’ve been able to keep The Angry British Conservative running without a hitch, as I always schedule episodes in advance. That bit of foresight certainly paid off this time!

On another exciting note, you might recall from a recent post that I ordered the DJI Osmo Mobile 6. The good news is that it’s set to arrive this Friday! I’m genuinely looking forward to diving into some creative projects with it. 

My iPhone 16 Pro is already a fantastic tool for capturing stunning photos, and pairing it with the Osmo Mobile 6 will elevate things to another level. I am certainly gonna make use of my 1TB storage space. I can’t wait to explore its capabilities for both my side blog, TMC’s Gazette Photoblog, and my vlogs on my YouTube channel, TMarsh-Connors.

Photography has always been a passion of mine, and I’m itching to test this new gear out on some of my favourite themes—perhaps some macro shots of winter landscapes or cityscapes lit up by festive lights. And as for vlogging, I’ve been brainstorming ideas for content that will feel fresh and engaging for my audience.

It’s moments like these that remind me how much I enjoy balancing different creative outlets. Whether it’s podcasting, blogging, photography, or vlogging, each one allows me to express a different side of myself. I’m lucky to have platforms to share my thoughts and creations.

Here we go! My name is Thomas Marsh-Connors. I am known to be outspoken, blunt, sarcastic, loyal, honest, cynical, and determined. I have moved here from Blogger.com. I started blogging back in 2007 or 2008. I can't remember which year it was. I am currently the owner of four YouTube accounts.

So why am I on Tumblr? Well, my girlfriend recommended I join the site as it's far better than "Blogger.com" which she is right about. Chapter One: The Rising Tensions

It was a sweltering July morning in 2020 when the world awoke to a new reality. For years, tensions had been simmering between the United States and China, driven by economic rivalries, territorial disputes, and conflicting ideologies. The rest of the world had nervously watched as these two global giants squared off.

July 16, 2020, marked a turning point. It began with a seemingly routine maritime dispute in the South China Sea, where American and Chinese naval vessels had been shadowing each other for weeks. The dispute erupted into violence when a minor collision between a Chinese frigate and an American destroyer escalated into a full-blown naval skirmish.

The world watched in horror as the situation quickly spiraled out of control. Diplomatic channels, once conduits of cooperation, had become avenues of accusation and threats. Social media was flooded with images and videos of naval clashes, fiery rhetoric from both sides, and calls for calm from concerned citizens worldwide.

As the naval conflict intensified, reports came in of cyberattacks on critical infrastructure on both sides of the Pacific. Power grids, communication networks, and financial systems were under siege, and the blame game escalated. Each side accused the other of launching the devastating cyberattacks.

In the heart of Washington, D.C., President James Turner called an emergency meeting of his top advisors. The situation had deteriorated rapidly, and the world was on the brink of war. In the Oval Office, the President weighed his options carefully.

Meanwhile, in Beijing, President Xi Jinping held a similar meeting with his top military brass. The Chinese government, too, was assessing the gravity of the situation and preparing for all-out conflict.

In the midst of this crisis, global leaders scrambled to mediate. The United Nations called for an emergency session to address the escalating tensions, but their pleas for restraint seemed to fall on deaf ears as the American and Chinese militaries continued to clash on the high seas and in cyberspace.

In the days that followed, the world held its breath, waiting to see if cooler heads would prevail or if the American-Chinese Annexation War would continue to escalate into a full-scale global catastrophe.

The world had entered a new era, one where the superpowers of old were on the brink of a devastating conflict that threatened to reshape the geopolitical landscape forever.

GTA Vice City  22 Years On!

When Grand Theft Auto: Vice City dropped in 2002, it was like a portal into the neon-lit, crime-riddled heart of the 80s. This game wasn’t just about causing chaos (although, let’s be honest, that was half the fun); it was a journey into a world that felt brimming with style, atmosphere, and, most importantly, unforgettable characters.

At the centre of it all was Tommy Vercetti, and his iconic Hawaiian shirt voiced by the iconic Ray Liotta. Tommy wasn’t your typical silent protagonist; he was brash, calculating, and dangerously charming a man on a mission to carve out his empire in Vice City’s seedy underbelly. Characters like Tommy gave Vice City its grit, and his rise from a low-level criminal to the king of a sprawling empire remains a highlight in the entire GTA series. His voice lines alone made an impression, bringing a depth and personality that made every mission feel like part of a gritty 80s crime saga.

Yes I am aware that I used the word “iconic” twice it’s cause it is ICONIC!

But it wasn’t just Tommy who made the city feel alive. Vice City’s underworld was packed with memorable faces from Lance Vance, Tommy’s partner in crime with a flair for the dramatic, to Kent Paul, the British music manager with questionable connections. Even minor characters, like Ricardo Diaz, a volatile drug lord, added layers to the city’s story and made each mission an unpredictable thrill.

Beyond the characters, Vice City was the perfect blend of neon-soaked 80s style and open-world freedom. The vapourware colours, palm trees, and retro cars all worked in sync to create an experience that felt immersive and timeless. Add in that unforgettable soundtrack with tracks from Michael Jackson to Laura Branigan, and you had an atmosphere that’s still tough to beat.

As we gear up for GTA VI next year, there’s a sense of anticipation for what Rockstar will bring back from Vice City’s legacy. Will we see nods to characters like Tommy, Lance, or Kent? Will the game revisit that unforgettable neon style? Only time will tell, but Vice City remains the high bar thanks to the vivid world, unforgettable characters, and that immersive 80s spirit.

Until we get the next instalment, Vice City stands unchallenged as the epitome of cool, daring, and everything that makes a game memorable.

Solitude of the Night Sky

I’ve spent countless hours staring up at the night sky. You know that feeling when it’s just you, surrounded by the vastness above, with nothing but your thoughts to keep you company? A silent world where thoughts unravel and wander freely, far from the noise and distractions of everyday life.

The night sky has always pulled at something deep within me, almost as if those distant stars and the quiet expanse of space give permission for a rare kind of introspection. I’ll catch myself considering everything from the small details of the day to grand, nearly outlandish, ideas about life and purpose. It’s as though my mind mirrors the night’s openness, allowing thoughts to drift and take shape, sometimes quietly chaotic, sometimes intensely focused.

There’s a strange paradox to it all feeling both minuscule in the face of the universe and yet profoundly connected to something bigger. And, of course, the absence of daylight brings a clarity that only the night offers. Ideas seem sharper, thoughts a bit more honest, and my sense of self, more certain.

I’ve found that these moments alone with the night sky are like a reset. It's a solitude that doesn’t feel lonely; rather, it feels like a moment of reunion with the quieter parts of myself.

I’m Opinionated and The State of the UK

If you’ve followed my blogs for a while whether it’s here on *TMC’s Gazette*, *Tales*, or the Photoblog you already know this: I’m opinionated. I’ve always been. I won’t apologise for it, and frankly, I don’t see why I should. Having a strong opinion is not a crime. It’s a right a natural extension of free speech. 

For the most part, I keep to myself. I’m a private person, content with my own company, free from the unnecessary drama that fills the lives of so many others. In my world, privacy is peace. I prefer to focus on my own life rather than be dragged into needless conflicts. It’s quieter that way, and trust me, quieter is better. But when I do speak out, when I do choose to weigh in on something, it’s because I care deeply about the subject at hand and I won’t hold back. 

Which brings me to this blog today. I feel the need to vent my frustration and say what I think so many others are feeling but either can’t or won’t express: The United Kingdom is broken.

Yes, you heard me right. I believe the government is systematically dismantling everything that made this country great. And before you think I’m simply being dramatic because you know I’m a Conservative, and proud of it—this isn’t just about party politics. It’s about common sense, or rather, the complete lack of it that seems to pervade both sides of the aisle these days. 

You can talk about the U.S. or Canada all you like. The so-called “woke” agenda, the cultural erosion, the left-wing nonsense it’s everywhere. America is grappling with it, Canada has been sucked into it, and unfortunately, the United Kingdom is not immune either. 

I’m tired of the spin. I’m tired of the virtue-signaling. I’m tired of the endless obsession with appeasing every special interest group while the average British citizen, the hard working families, and the older generations, are left wondering what on earth happened to the country they grew up in.

I look around, and I see a nation where priorities are skewed. Our healthcare system is on its knees, crime rates are climbing, and there seems to be a growing sense of entitlement that has replaced the values of hard work and self-reliance. The government. Our government is more concerned with virtue points and optics than with practical solutions to real problems. And all the while, left-wing nonsense is seeping through every crack of our society, encouraging division, resentment, and weakness.

I hate it. Yes, I said it. I hate the direction we’re heading, and I can’t stand to see the country I love being torn apart by reckless policies and ideological insanity. There was a time when being proud of your country wasn’t controversial, when defending your culture, values, and traditions wasn’t something you had to apologise for. I’m not interested in the apologies. I’m interested in preserving what’s left before there’s nothing left to preserve. 

So, if I seem harsh or blunt in my views, it’s because I care. I care deeply about this country. And I’ll continue to speak my mind, to criticise when I see fit, and to defend the principles I believe in, because I refuse to let this nation go down without a fight.

I’m a private person, yes. But when it comes to the issues that matter to me the survival and success of the United Kingdom I’ll never be quiet.
