Which Witch? 

This moment in "Donnie vs. Witch Town" has repeatedly caught my notice, and I’ve now recovered enough to break it down! 

First off, here’s the list verbatim:

Unfamiliar names plus cursive plus a lack of high-quality stills meant decoding this took a little longer than expected.

I have attempted to minimize spoilers for the mentioned horror movies when possible, but in pursuing two contradictory goals, I have accomplished both imperfectly. C'est la vie!

Please note: I am by no means a film buff, so feel free to add any relevant context! 

Oh, the Horror . . . [films]!

"Suzy Bannion" would be a reference to the 1977 film Suspiria in which Suzy, a ballet student, finds herself investigating a supernatural coven of witches.

"Heather Donahue" is a homage to the 1999 "found footage" movie The Blair Witch Project*, wherein three student filmmakers investigate a legend of a witch in the woods.

"Nancy Downs", from the 1996 R-rated film The Craft, is one of a trio of students rumored to be dabbling in witchcraft.

"Minnie Castevet", on the other hand, hails from the dark 1968 film Rosemary’s Baby (based on the book by Ira Levin), wherein Minnie’s character is suspected of being a member of a coven. 

"Katia Vajda", originates from the 1960 film Black Sunday, (loosely based on Nikolai Gogol’s short story "Viy"). Katia was accused of being a vampiric witch and executed by her brother—but that isn’t the end of her story.

"Miss Anjelica Ernst" simultaneously references Roald Dahl’s 1973 novel The Witches and its 1990 film adaptation of the same name. One member of the notorious child-hating coven is the Grand High Witch, Eva Ernst, who was portrayed by Anjelica Huston on the big screen.

"Samantha Stephens" lives the life of a "good witch" in the 1964 television series Bewitched.

Special Bonus!

"Abigail the Good", founder of Witch Town, may be an allusion to the character "Abigail Pershing" from the 2015 television show Good Witch. 

I’ll go ahead and credit my dad as my research assistant; he described these references as "deep cuts".

Day Five : OC screenshot

You’re probably wondering and asking “why is there two posts of the same screenshot but the same OC” well I do have an explanation for that🌸. Finally reaching to this day of the week art challenge, I was excited to paste my adorable axolotl ROTTMNT OC in the screenshot, but when I did so I immediately thought “why does she look like a character from another show?” Since she was supposedly to be an OC for well… the Rise of the TMNT🌸✨ I eventually asked for help by my friend @ye-it-is-skeet (you can go check their drawings out🌸) and they said that they can draw Viney in the ROTTMNT art style and so they did, they had some issues with sending the drawing to me, but in the end we were able to send it. They suggested I could post one or post two and credit them (which I am) The drawing ended up to take hours because of how detailed the background is. So yeah, that’s my reason why and thank you @ye-it-is-skeet for helping me with this project ^w^

Quick quick, does anyone have any gifs of when April messes with the screen and it looks like a comic book panel!? She does it in Purple Jacket when she's flying the jetpack, and in Donnie vs. Witch Town when her and Donnie are hiding behind a building, and there's possibly other moments as well I'm just forgetting. I'm trying to describe this to someone who's never seen the show, but I can't, so I need a visual example but all I can only find is this single image, please help 😭

Loves witchtown to death. Enjoys visiting and watching the magic displays. Also likes dragging Pedro along because one, it annoys him, and two because they know he wants to keep them all safe 

Has definitely gotten in trouble for making random concoctions (gets the needed items from witchtown and has several books on the making of potions). Has gotten to the point to where they now have a small dedicated space (lab) for this. (mostly has made non lethal stuff) and will def ramble on about a new project or something they’ve learned recently. Loves being experimental. What happens if i mix these two together? Probably another explosion. 

Sometimes has to be drug out of their lab to get meal breaks/naps/etc. Will  hyperfixate on a project or reading for hours at a time

When overwhelmed after they get their much needed alone time they need Pedro and quiet time. Will send him a text to let him know
