Episode 8 was such a different side of Nanno. The episode was so soft and could have made for a stand alone drama. I hope Nanno thinks of TK from time to time cause I truly believed she cared for him.

~Au Concept

Okay, hear me out.

Girl From Nowhere Hankisa Au...with Kisaki being a sort of Nanno/Yuri figure. (In all honesty, more of a Yuri and Junko figure but yk.)

I'm thinking either Hanma can be the stand in for Nanno and being the one to take interest in Kisaki (saving his life by turning him into what he is) or Kisaki being a Nanno like being (not in actions or thought but in literal species) and having a relationship with Hanma like that of Nanno and TK.

This totally came from rewatching GFN, wanting angst and an excuse to imagine Kisaki trying out different uniforms.

OKAY i was supposed to post this like. 2 weeks ago but never did lmfao these are my thougts on gfn s2 (SPOILERS)

my fave episode is probably 6 7 or 8 and least fave is probably 1 or 5 lmfao

the aesthetic choices for episode 6 own my heart and SOUL the way the whole chaos scene after the paper and yuri pushed nanno was done... GOD... and the flowers in ep 8 and just the whole plot really...

episode 7 (jennyx) hit really fucking hard for me but i think episode 7 really shows. nanno being flawed almost ? but also shows that she started caring because well.... i think she really did care about jane... yeah nanno started caring and well ... rip her immortality ig

also let's talk about yuri's introduction because holy hell you cannot tell me nanno wasn't thinking about tk when she saw yuri and her mom... like... that look on her face..

ik some ppl don't like yuri but yuri contrasts nanno pretty well and through yuri we get more of nanno as a character. like yuri was probably (?) designed to be more of a character that sees only right/wrong and not like. the in between than nanno.

the major themes of season 2 for me were revenge and like. a grey morality

a lot of the episodes focus on revenge but episodes like 3 (mostly the dream sequence) and 7 really raise the question - is revenge a perfect solution. it delves a lot into like. revenge and just how like. black and white it is, almost (this isn't me shutting down all revenge obv every case is different) but it's like... in jennyx (jane)'s words: "did i deserve this?"

compared to nanno, yuri is often more direct and black and white in her choices. nanno sort gets the person to dig their grave; yuri digs the grave then pushes them in. which is where the whole morally grey thing comes in. episode 6 and 8 are good examples, with nanno asking "can we really decide in this grey world" and yuri asking nanno which person is right or wrong. it's interesting because a lot of times, what the person being punished did is unforgivable, but at the same time, are what nanno/yuri doing better?

the morally grey areas are really. interesting to watch because. it just brings up so much to get into and i'm not coherent enough to like. get into it all but there's something so good abt it..

season 2 is more. about like moral thought ? than s1 and i really enjoyed that element like. season 1 has a special place in my heart bc the episodes are just That Good but season 2 is great too

im not sure that, even though im thankfully on your perm taglist, if im on the arcanum taglist so im just double checking bc i loved gfn a bit too much and you already know i go crazy for you, which brings me to my other point. what do you think abt yuri in the gfn season 2? personally i didnt like her and i definitely didnt like the ending (not spoiling it just in case someone accidentally reads this with plans of watching gfn but yk what who im talking abt)

if theres a 3rd season i absolutely need for that one guy to come back from season 1. he was the only person who nanno liked :(

honestly i just feel like yuri’s character wasn’t very necessary?? maybe i’m just biased bc i like nanno going around and doing her own thing but i didn’t like how yuri got in the way sm 😭 she was a nannoboo 🙄🤚 and what i liked ab nanno was she was a true representation of karma in that she went around and targeted ppl who were evil and tried to teach them a lesson, meanwhile yuri was just impatient and bloodthirsty. i think nanno’s gonna come back in s3 and teach her a lesson tho >:))

PLS IM SO HEARTBROKEN OVER NANNO AND TK :(( i’d write an “in another life” type story in my head for them. but i hope the writers can pull smthn together to reunite them somehow
