this post and my undying yearning for Tekken 8 gave me an idea last night that GRIPPED me with HERCULEAN STRENGTH until 6AM THIS MORNING so. if anything sounds weird it's because I'm running on less than 4 hours of sleep whoops--

I love the idea of a backstory swap for these two! I actually used to have an OC/SI who was part of the Manji clan but never had any ideas for her beyond that. So what better time to finally put her to use than this!! :D

this also gave me the perfect excuse to share my headcanon for what Yoshimitsu looks like beneath the mask kdjfhg

Story under the cut 👀

Seppenmitsu is the leader of the infamous Manji clan, modern-day Robin Hoods who steal the wealth hoarded by greedy individuals and corporations and distribute it to those less fortunate. She was blinded in battle during a heist, but was saved by the doctor whose building she and her clan raided. He fitted her with a special mask that restored her sight (...somewhat - she can still only see vague shapes and no color), and she's been a close friend to him ever since.

Despite her new equipment, she still dedicates much of her time to senses training, teaching herself to know her surroundings even without the mask. Though she's trained for quite some time, it's not perfect - she could get around fine without the mask, but fighting would be significantly more difficult due to all the noise that happens during battle, especially in loud places like arenas or anywhere else with big crowds.

She enters the King of Iron Fist tournament with the goal of robbing the Mishima Zaibatsu of more than just the prize money. Throughout her matches, she learns of another participant but doesn't ever get to meet him directly - a man named Yoshi, whose combat skill was originally honed solely for self defense, but eventually became a hobby of his. From what she hears, he runs a humble repair shop in a little corner of a nearby town, able to fix all sorts of things from electronics to furniture and machinery, even prosthetics.

This knowledge comes in handy when one day during a fight, Seppenmitsu's mask is broken. She makes her way to this man's repair shop, and is flattered to learn he had actually watched all of her matches, admiring her fighting style and the way she presented herself during battle. He says he'd be delighted to take on the project of fixing her mask, feeling it is an honor given who she is.

She finds Yoshi sweet, albeit a bit eccentric, but that just adds to his charm - not to mention he's rather humble and his praise flatters her greatly. It all seems to be more than just professionalism, and admittedly she finds herself a bit smitten. So much that even after her mask is repaired, she starts bringing him anything that's broken as an excuse to keep meeting with him - the handles of her weapons, pieces of her armor, and...a gaming console? (that one surprises Yoshi - what are the odds that such a strong and noble woman shares his gaming hobby??)

Eventually she comes to Yoshi's shop for her mask once more, but he points out that it's perfectly intact, and she's caught in her little ruse. She confesses her intentions, thinking he'll find it strange...but he's actually very flattered that she's been going to such lengths just to see him, and so they start hanging out more regularly~

We’re all talking about what makes Cecil worthy of tumblr sexyman. But the outfits, the outfits. We know his tunic and furry pants; but the capri pants and a cummerbund? How about the professional radio hosting unitard? Or the yellow sponge clogs, cat ears, and tights? And we can’t forget the black plastic poncho, cat ears, and galoshes; or over look the black tuxedo, white bow tie, open-toed polished black shoes, a burgundy velvet cape, earrings made from repurposed car keys, and a top hat with furry tassels hanging from the brim that he got married to Carlos in. And last but not least the honeycomb hat, a Hawaiian shirt, and leather pants.

And he creates these masterpieces without looking in the mirror.

Watched a playthrough of Tekken 8's story mode (cause my broke ass can't afford to play it myself gjdhg) and decided it was time to give my self insert a fresh new look! and it totally wasn't just to stave off the pain of the homie Yoshi having next to zero screentime or dialogue or prevalence come on man he's in every game so far let him speak 😭

Cecil hails from North America and runs a tiny repair shop out of her home to make ends meet. She can fix all kinds of stuff - electronics, toys, household appliances, and even prosthetics! She's also an avid gamer and once entered the King of Iron Fist tournament to fund her expensive hobby with the prize money. She didn't win but she DID get to see a certain masked swordsman in action and later got to fix his hand! and between then and now, they sort of...became a thing? yeah not sure exactly how that happened yet, I'm still working on a proper backstory. come back later gjdhgkg

okay yknow what quick analzation chz j need to get it off my chest

spoilers for unordinaey (up to like ep 160ish?)

hhH i realy could word this better but its 10 and tired and this really isnt flr anyone but myself

what i really like about tbe webtoon is how it shows that people aren't 100% good or bad.

take john, for one. he came to wellston tk start over after almost killing his entire class at his old school. why'd he pretend to be a cripple and take all the beatings he did? because he didn't want to be a monster. but he did end up becoming a monster. because arlo kept pushing for him to ,take his place, as a high tier.

john didn't want that. respectable. arlo was the ass for pushing him to that extent. HOWEVER, john did ,not, have to go as far as he did. it only turned him back into a monster, back into that mindset of ,everything is against me and i need to fight everyone to keep myself safe,(although i cant be 100% sure becuz we dont know his entire backstory).

alao he's quite hypocritical. despite hating high tiers he also kinda hates low tiers, as proven with the way he reacted to sera asking to introduce him to her new friends.

arlo. he's obsessed with hierarchy. as a high tier, it's been ingrained into him that it's the job and burden of high tiers to keep order. he doesn't care if low tiers are trodden on. that's just the way things work to him. he wants things to go his way because he genuinely believes his decisions are the best. some kind of control freak, as well as an inferiority complex to those who are stronger than him.

yes, he was in the wrong for pushing john. but he owned up, albeit too late, and he's paying the price dearly

remi. remi is a good person, actually. she sees a problem and does her best to fix it. precious sunshine girl i love her so much. her brother's had a lot of good influence on her. she helps low tiers when she can, and even went as far as to try and come to an agreement with john. she has a strong sense of justice.

elaine. anotjer hierarchy centered person. she obeys whoever's highest up. she's afraid to think for herself because she fears the repercussions.

seraphina. actually, she's kind of naive. she keeps thinking that it , couldn't possibly, be that bad to be a low tier until she experiences it firsthand. alright, she's been high all her life, thats probably to be expected. but she also idolizes john quite a lot, keeping his ,teachings, in mind all the time. after being stuck in this hierarchy for so long, John probably felt like fresh air. its no wonder she jumped at the chance to break free from her burden. i wanna go more in depth to her chaarcter but theres more i wanna get to. shes represented as the ace, which, depending on the game, can be either useless or the most powerful card.

+ the moment she realized joker is john and , everything she thought she knew, shattered, she reverts back to her old way of thinkjng. from ,if you can do it, why can't i?, to, ,i dont have an ability and therefore contribute nothing tk society,

isen. info gatherer. he's quite careful with the things he digs up, and knows when to stop.but he's also kinda prone to giving up when things dont go as smoothly as he expects.

blyke. protective of his friends. supportive. i think remis justice rhing is rubbing off on him. ... idrk what else to say but theres def smth else im forgetting.

cecile. switches loyalties according how how she'll benefit, and how secure they are in their power. she switched from arlo to john as soon as she could on e she realized john was stronger.

So the way I decided to draw Steve made my brain refuse tk allow me to draw more than two other figures because I couldn't figure out like... how to get them in there so I ended up only drawing Abby and Cecil. But it felt right.

I wanted to capture the frantic "I care about my brother in law actually" vibe there because it's important

Has anyone drawn the scene where all the Palmers (Cecil, Abby, Janice and Carlos) hug Steve to prevent him from becoming a stranger because I can't stop thinking about it now.
