Text- from Walking Distance Brewing Company
Happy Pride month! We are here another year to celebrate Pride with you! Thank you for your love and support through a difficult year of slander and harassment. Your support has not just kept us afloat but has made us thrive! Our inclusive community isn’t here just for Pride - we’re here all year. It's not always easy being inclusive in town. The library, community organizations, and yes, even Walking Distance have been targets. In this post, we're going to discuss the attacks against the library and against us. Last June, the library had a pride book display [1]. On July 3rd, (now ex) city councilmember Deb Groat wrote an email to the library at the request of the Union Faith Family Coalition [2]. In this email, she wrote: “I am deeply offended by explicitly sexual material on display in the children’s section of our library. Shame on you and your staff for pandering to any social agenda in displaying reading material to children.” [3] Later on in the email she wrote: “The library may well want to pass a levy in the future, or have input in a community TIF.” [3] On November 27, 2023 - Deb Groat was joined by city councilmember Mark Reams in voting for a TIF that would divert money away from the library for 30 years. Luckily, the extension did not pass. [4] According to Union County Faith Family Coalition’s founder, Mark Reams is a member. [2] Deb Groat and Mark Reams vote together to divert money from the library. Let’s move on to us. In June 2023, we had a drag show. On July 8th, Mark Reams’ wife, Leslie Reams posted on Facebook calling Walking Distance “Little Epstein Island” [5] joining in the same rhetoric spread by the Union County Faith Family Coalition, who nicknamed us, “Walking Distance Grooming Co.” Additionally, on April 15th, 2024 - while on-shift at her job, Leslie Reams called us a “den of depravity bar [that] preys on children,” and called our bartenders and customers, “pedophiles” and “drunks.” Let’s be clear. Leslie Reams, the members of the Union County Faith Family Coalition, and their followers have never called law enforcement (to our knowledge) - something we would expect and want to happen if pedophilia was happening. Law enforcement has never been called, we suspect that even they know that it’s not true. We have heard many rumors, as bad as, “Walking Distance is full of pedophiles” to more innocuous rumors that hurt our reputation. Our guess is that the same people who don’t believe we’re pedophiles, but want to demonize queerness, also know their audience and are able to tone it back to do the damage they can. We saw sales dips directly following Leslie Reams’ statements. We have heard city council members echoing similar rumors. Last summer, we had around 10 citations against the owner’s house and the business from the city and council - none of these citations asked us to remedy anything (except for the one about mowing…oops), and in fact there were instances when the local officials said that we were doing everything right, but they are only reaching out to us because they had so many calls. The year prior, Walking Distance and the owner's house had 0 citations. We’ll never know exactly how much business we lost due to the slander against us. We do know, we lost a lot. Similarly, we’ll never know exactly how much the support of our community has meant. We do know, it meant a whole lot. The support has kept us afloat, and with time, it's made us thrive. We know that we have survived to see another June. And we are ready to celebrate it, in the face of the hate. There would be no pride with no hate. Looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday for drag BINGO; Saturday for drag brunch; and also visit us on Saturday during Marysville Pride. We have more Pride events this week and month, keep your eyes peeled! And even if it's not a pride related event, we are always inclusive. Oh, and there's a city council meeting next Monday, June 10th at 7PM.
[/text]
Here's some photos of the extremely offensive library display:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They haven't given a call to action yet.
So anyways, that's what's happening in a nearby town. Marysville's pride event is this weekend and if you'd like to show up for local queers its going to be a very fun time.
I'm thinking of grabbing some of my local gays and giving them our patronage, of course. Its somewhat unrealistic to ask strangers on the internet to do take a hike all the way to Ohio for drag bingo.
So I think I would just like to call attention to it- if this is happening in our area, its probably happening in yours too. If you were thinking of attending a drag show but were on the fence about it, I think you should. They're a fun time.
Being involved in the queer community can be as simple as attending a drag show. Or going to a silly queer-focused event. Or supporting a queer-owned business. Every little bit of support for your queer community counts!

literally can't believe this homophobic shit... i read that Cemetery Boys book because my trans (tif) friend loved it and asked me to read it, it basically tells the story of a teenage tif from a family where women and men have different powers who wants to prove her family that she is a boy and so that she has the powers men of this family have. she keeps calling herself gay which is fucking annoying but the worst thing is that she meets a GAY boy and they end up together 🙃 like you have that scene where the boy comes out and says that he never had a girlfriend because he's gay, the tif is happy because of course it means that he can be attracted to her right? and in that same scene she does her coming out too, in a very emotional line she blushes, is nervous and says "er... well, i, i like boys too" as if it was an intense moment and an important annoucement lol. everyone listen, this teenage girl says she's attacted to boys, how touching! later in the book he falls in love with her and they kiss and start dating 🙃 calling their relationship gay 🙃 so in 2024 it's totally normal and accepted to write a book that is basically homophobic propaganda saying that gay men can fall in love with women... great 🖕🏽

follow-up to the ask regarding Tif saying she knew Jan 2024 Luke was serious about Antonia. Ok, if that was the case why was she making edits for Nic and Luke being in love and being a shipper? If she knew this about Luke, she would have said, I’m making cute Polin edits but Nic and Luke are friends. Bc she did not do this. Her fan based grew bc she was a shipper of Nic and Luke then changed. Which, is fine if you change your mind but it’s not ok to lie. For the longest I have been trying to figure out why people didn’t like her other than being creepy but now I see she is a liar. She just lied on this post but people, I mean her minions, just believe what she says. She does not now Nic or Luke but likes to give the impression she does.
🎯🎯 right on the spot anon! Exactly! If they were so in love and she was so sure about them being together why make Lukola edits? Im sure at the start she was a shipper but as she grew a bigger following she started doing it just to gain likes. Since then she does whatever is popular in the moment and has an ego the size of the sun. What’s worse is that not only does she act like she knows them irl but she puts Nicola in jeopardy by exposing her real time location. She’s not a fan. She’s in for the attention and thrives off of it, whether it’s positive or negative.

FEATURE: Anik-anik to Win it: Ang Kwento sa Likod ng Koleksyon
Anik-anik here, anik-anik there, anik-anik everywhere!
Tumblr media
(friendship over) na kami."

I have a sort of conspiracy theory about liberal feminism that I need to get off my chest. The whole "pick me vs girls girl" culture is actively creating TiFs.
Women who don't fit into certain standards society holds have been shamed for it since the beginning of time, but now rejecting femininity is being seen as anti feminist. Girls who aren't even putting down other women are called nlogs and pick me's just because they're awkward and kind of tomboyish.
Look at Jlaw. She was shamed out of the public eye for acting like an actual human and not a walking caricature of womanhood (eating pizza and falling down on the red carpet). There's an audio going around being mocked on tiktok where a woman rightfully says "I don't like makeup. I think it's bad for women". I've seen nasty comments under Korean feminist insta posts where the women in question are smashing their makeup or wearing comfortable clothing and talking openly about it.
I genuinely think this is the reason why a lot of girls believe themselves not to be female. Since it's shameful and cringy to not be feminine as a woman in the year of our Lord 2024, it would logically be better to think of yourself as a man or some in between thing. Tomboys are basically an endangered species at this point and it's really really sad. Little girls aren't climbing trees or playing in the mud. They're playing with skincare and makeup. I truly feel like I'm living in a black mirror episode and it's scary.
Sorry for the long winded rant. I'm semi crypto on main and wanted to put this out there. I dunno why I sent this to the "I want to make a milkshake out of copia's cum" account but I don't really know anyone else who gets insane anons like you do. x
i think youre right though, there is definitely a backlash against feminism right now that comes in the form of hyper femininity and capitalism.
if you dont wear makeup, youre a childish loser who needs to learn how to put on eyeliner. if you dont shave, encourage other women to not shave, youre bombarded with women with "sensory issuee" and are just as bad as a patriarchal man. if you dont like pink, you have internalized misogyny. if you say anything about how high heels damage your feet, youre shaming women. if you talk about how womens clothes are made worse than mens, just go shop in the mens section! stop doing anything, stop going against the quo, let women do what they want! dont question anything!
and in more recent years, ive been seeing the evidence of this seeping into girls younger and younger. we now have little girls begging for drunk elephant and sephora items, to shop where the adult women shop. honestly i didnt even know what drunk elephant was until i saw a girls christmas list on here. theyre spending adult with a job money on products, whether it be from saved allowances and or from their parents. i just saw a video about a 9 year old girl getting bullied for having a tumbler from walmart and not one of the expensive trendy stanley cups. there was always an issue with bullying over not having name brand but i feel like its gotten so much worse. and thats not even talking about the "skincare" aspect of it.
theres so much to say about this but they really did rebrand capitalism as being woman positive though.

Tif is pushing lutonia love story so much for some reason. The theory of her being in cahoots with A could be true.
Very strange tif is talking a lot about how in love Lutonia are. And says they have been in love since pfw 2024 🤔 I think she’s cahoots with A too.
