now, i dont know why the empire attacked intacia, as im not subscriber to desmond’s patreon, but i know a bit of what went down.

but primarily what i wanted to ask was, am i the only one who understood, if not AGREED with captain dolion when he was speaking to the baroness in chap4 pt1? having to adjust to imperial customs in your own country, i can understand how that could make people upset. all im saying, is that its not shocking or surprising that violence was met with violence. in a war, no one wins. you just survive.

but like i said, i understand both parts of the argument. am i saying either side is innocent? absolutely not, they both did awful things. ex: witch hunters attacking to empire, and ascendants burning things down.

what im primarily upset about is when the baroness had “said” or heavily implied, that intacia just needs to “get over the war”. very insensitive and disrespectful thing to say. dolion wasnt perfect either, and im not on any sides.

but in my opinion, the baroness shouldnt form any opinions on a particular controversial topic that didnt even affect her. again, saying that, “intacia needs to get over it”, without knowing what really any of them went through? yeah, shitty move.

I'm not certain if it's stated in Canon (as I actually haven't listened to Rhett's series yet until Desmond brings him out of that cliffhanger hell), but my theory is that the Empire was trying to conquer Intacia and meld it into the Empire.

So here's the things, right, personally? I get how Dolion felt. He and the rest of the Intacians have the right to be upset, and the Baroness was insensitive to the plight. Castin was also right; she can't just brush it off and demand that they all move on already.

But at the same time, she can't denounce her roots AKA the Empire. She can't go, "Yeah, fuck the Empire! The Empire's evil for waging the war against Intacia!" She's the Baroness! She has ties to the royal family, the family, ya know, who sanctioned the war!

So, the way I see it, the Intacians were in the right to be upset, and the Baroness was not only insensitive but also trapped in a very hard place, so she can't just react without consequences.

The Empire attacked, Intacia reacted accordingly and the war escalated. The lines get blurry.

You know what? Judging from Dolion's statement (which could be heavily biased), they nearly won the war until Rhett and his Queen threw a coup. Now I want to know what the Imperial Nobles have to say about that.

Do they think that they were the ones who were winning? Do they feel super salty that the war was stopped before they could conquer Intacia? How does the Empress felt about this?

I'm responding to this bc it needs to be said. Supergiant stated they will not be recasting and also they don't fall under the companies that can not be working or supported during the SAG- AFTRA strike.

Being an indie development company, they do not fall under the issues SAG is striking and possibly can not even sign said agreement because they are an indie company (i'd have to fact check that). This strike is supposed to affect larger companies like EA, Sony, etc who are pushing for AI. Below is a statement from Supergiant about the statement made by the VA.

I think the VA should've done more research or reached out to the company before speaking out. It shows a lack of awareness in their words or research in what the strike is about and what they should or shouldnt be supporting. Posts like this happen and create a "cancel culture" mindset where people read tweets and headlines with little to no research.

I love the VA, I even have their signature, but I believe they should do more research before speaking out. I hope SAG meets its goals soon and everyone grows from this situation a little wiser.

Also, Edit to add:

There are several comments about SG supporting Scabs. People need to do research on what exactly a Scab is. A Scab ISN'T any person working when a strike is happening. It's a member of SAID UNION who crosses the picket line or does work for lower pay then the Union states.

Unions have several levels of entry that not all people meet. Being under smaller workers unions for starters along with proof of employment and others.

Supergiant, being smaller and indie makes it so it can hire people who aren't SAG members and help promote them to be bigger names in the industry.

For example, Michael Kovach (famous VA for Jax from TADC, Several characters from Poppy Playtime, and most famously the original pilot VA for Angeldust from Hazbin Hotel) is not a member of SAG but supports the union and has been in multiple roles since the SAG strikes began.

While I have not done research into who exactly is being called a "Scab" in terms of the Supergiant controversy, please keep yourself educated about the term because it is super derogatory and may cause these people to never be able to join the unions. Being labeled a "scab", even incorrectly, makes it nearly impossible for people to join unions.

Hi. I love Hades and Hades 2 as much as everyone else but we NEED to make some noise because Supergiant is refusing to sign contracts with fair pay and anti-AI clauses. And they are straight up recasting VAs to punish VAs who are striking (sag-aftra has been striking for 7 months).

We really need to make noise here because this mistreatment will continue if we don't.

There are many things that I love about the understanding and interpretations for IT, and there are many things which make me so, genuinely angry.

This book is packed with so many themes and meanings with literary techniques which read on the same levels as classic literature. And people recognize this, they appreciate this, and that’s a good thing. They read between the lines and notice the parallels and draw connections and that’s good, that appreciation and understanding is good.

But what I truly and deeply hate is how so many of the cishet readers who recognize and understand the literary techniques which King uses will also proceed to pass off Reddie as being a new hype that rose up around the recent adaptations. They recognize how King gets his themes and points across but once Reddie is written about and implied in the exact same way with the exact same literary techniques as their beloved “themes” and “deep meanings”, IT is suddenly “just a horror novel” and you get ridiculed for “taking it so seriously”.

It’s hypocritical, it’s self-contradictory, it’s unfair, erasive, fucked up and hateful!
