British people wanna be victimized so bad like I'm gonna keep making fun of gross british food when their colonization of my country completely erased the food culture and history and their landlords are the reason my countries in a housing crisis. Like sorry about the poverty but people make fun of the british because the british suck
i'm sorry that britain did that to you and your culture, but 1. do you think the average british citizen was responsible for that as opposed to, like, the people in power, who are not affected by stupid memes about 'disgusting food' and 'bad teeth' and 'ugly accents' and 2. stereotyping people by the country/region they're from (a large mass of land populated by millions of different people) is shitty regardless of whether that country is historically a "colonizer" or "colonized" country because it's more complex than that. ientifying strongly with patriotism and nationalism is divisive regardless of where or who you're making fun of. your anger at britain and the british is fair and justified, but making fun of stereotypes that primarily affect poor people who are also disadvantaged and oppressed is not helping anyone. there are better targets you could focus your efforts on.

i sure hope as a second mass exodus from twitter occurs (along with the overwhelming conservative nature of the world right now) we dont keep getting more people demanding purity culture. you cant demand every pervert on the internet 'kys' or else there will eventually be no one left on the internet. that window of acceptability will always swing back further and further until the idea of sharing a bed as a married couple is taboo once again.
this is one of the last bastions of peace we have where you can post queer or diverse or maybe just weird art without getting spotted by bigoted grifters trying to make money off outrage culture calling you a pervert or worse. and its entirely imperfect as a website with its own fucking problems, but i really hope the people on it dont start getting worse.
i dont care what you do so long as youre kind to others and respect their rights to exist, and their boundaries. that shouldnt be a controversial statement but i bet i lose followers over it again.
it should also go without question that this does not include people who celebrate fascism. those are the people you need to make clear do not belong in your spaces, people who wilfully wish harm on the more marginalized.
and i understand that i keep bringing this up, that i sound like a broken record and perhaps thats annoying, but im honestly worried about it. i think modern social media and the nature of needing to network to be found by an algorithm that doesnt like anything controversial makes everyone worse. makes you try to be as broadly acceptable as possible. but thats always going to be a losing battle as more and more things become less acceptable.
i think a lot of you just might not have been alive before 2008, but anonymity on the internet is so important. it keeps you safe. we lost that at some point, as the socials with your full name and phone number started forcibly adding your boss to your friends list. made everyone start locking down their shit, as a random meme about 'boss makes a dollar i make a dime' can get you fired.
theres a lot of outing and doxxing culture thats so fucking normalized, and as the world grows more hostile to people who make a stink about things, i hope you dont find any excuse to get them hurt just so you can separate yourselves from them. i want you to think about things like the hayes code, where being gay could get you labelled a pervert. so you might think 'its okay ive never done anything inappropriate on the internet' (which, i dont believe you about) maybe not yet, but as the ideals of whats socially acceptable turn back to the 1950s you will have. keeping at a witch hunt looking for anyone with immoral art is only feeding the fire that will eat you later.

hello, lovely lady! i had a question for you, and i value your opinion given the fact that you to know a lot about the series.
now, i dont know why the empire attacked intacia, as im not subscriber to desmond’s patreon, but i know a bit of what went down.
but primarily what i wanted to ask was, am i the only one who understood, if not AGREED with captain dolion when he was speaking to the baroness in chap4 pt1? having to adjust to imperial customs in your own country, i can understand how that could make people upset. all im saying, is that its not shocking or surprising that violence was met with violence. in a war, no one wins. you just survive.
but like i said, i understand both parts of the argument. am i saying either side is innocent? absolutely not, they both did awful things. ex: witch hunters attacking to empire, and ascendants burning things down.
what im primarily upset about is when the baroness had “said” or heavily implied, that intacia just needs to “get over the war”. very insensitive and disrespectful thing to say. dolion wasnt perfect either, and im not on any sides.
but in my opinion, the baroness shouldnt form any opinions on a particular controversial topic that didnt even affect her. again, saying that, “intacia needs to get over it”, without knowing what really any of them went through? yeah, shitty move.
but im curious, what do you think?
hello, lovely lady! i had a question for you, and i value your opinion given the fact that you to know a lot about the series.
Yo, awesome addie! Aww, you're very sweet. It's the obsession, really 😂
now, i dont know why the empire attacked intacia, as im not subscriber to desmond’s patreon, but i know a bit of what went down.
I'm not certain if it's stated in Canon (as I actually haven't listened to Rhett's series yet until Desmond brings him out of that cliffhanger hell), but my theory is that the Empire was trying to conquer Intacia and meld it into the Empire.
but primarily what i wanted to ask was, am i the only one who understood, if not AGREED with captain dolion when he was speaking to the baroness in chap4 pt1? having to adjust to imperial customs in your own country, i can understand how that could make people upset. all im saying, is that its not shocking or surprising that violence was met with violence. in a war, no one wins. you just survive.
So here's the things, right, personally? I get how Dolion felt. He and the rest of the Intacians have the right to be upset, and the Baroness was insensitive to the plight. Castin was also right; she can't just brush it off and demand that they all move on already.
But at the same time, she can't denounce her roots AKA the Empire. She can't go, "Yeah, fuck the Empire! The Empire's evil for waging the war against Intacia!" She's the Baroness! She has ties to the royal family, the family, ya know, who sanctioned the war!
So, the way I see it, the Intacians were in the right to be upset, and the Baroness was not only insensitive but also trapped in a very hard place, so she can't just react without consequences.
but like i said, i understand both parts of the argument. am i saying either side is innocent? absolutely not, they both did awful things. ex: witch hunters attacking to empire, and ascendants burning things down.
The Empire attacked, Intacia reacted accordingly and the war escalated. The lines get blurry.
You know what? Judging from Dolion's statement (which could be heavily biased), they nearly won the war until Rhett and his Queen threw a coup. Now I want to know what the Imperial Nobles have to say about that.
Do they think that they were the ones who were winning? Do they feel super salty that the war was stopped before they could conquer Intacia? How does the Empress felt about this?
I GOTTA KNOW, MAN.
what im primarily upset about is when the baroness had “said” or heavily implied, that intacia just needs to “get over the war”. very insensitive and disrespectful thing to say. dolion wasnt perfect either, and im not on any sides.
I share the same sentiment! The Baroness has a lot of character development to do and I hope that Desmond would deliver it one day!
but in my opinion, the baroness shouldnt form any opinions on a particular controversial topic that didnt even affect her. again, saying that, “intacia needs to get over it”, without knowing what really any of them went through? yeah, shitty move.
This goes back to my previous statement above.
Remember. She is an Imperial Baroness. Whatever she says, whatever she does - they all have consequences. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if she's branded as a traitor by a few of her noble peers because she married Castin! It's no surprise that she was immediately attacked as soon as she went back home with Castin!
And you know what? I also wouldn't be surprised that if she was killed, the nobles would immediately martyr the Baroness as a ploy to resume the war against Intacia and pin her death on Castin. Rally the loyalists of the Baroness, muster every last Ascendant and deliver one final, devastating blow against Intacia until they can no longer fight.
'Cause that's what I would do if I was a scheming noble.
I hope I answered your ask well, Addie!

I'm the anon who sent you the long message that apparently came off "pompous & infantilizing" and more to your followers.
I find it interesting that that message sparked such a flood of defenders, when I did not send it in bad faith at all. From your answer it seems I'm lacking context so sorry if I took some of your statements the wrong way, but nonetheless I just found the parental love addition strange and reacted to that, that was all there was to it. I clearly stated (three times) I'm not taking any issue with your headcanons.
By saying they are far removed from canon I did not mean to say they are "too unrealistic" or something is wrong with that, I literally said the opposite. I meant just that, that factually, this will not be a common interpretation for someone who is familiar with the source material but not your blog. This is not a statement that I made with any judgemental value and I thought I made that very clear but apparently not.
So I'm sorry for the additional ask.
Have a nice day.
Thank you for the response.
I was fully aware you said there was no issue with what I drew, but the way you wrote everything else sort of negated that statement. At least that's how me and many other people saw it.
If someone finds what I drew strange or confusing then they could always just... block me or ask me about it (and btw I expected people to be confused, otherwise I wouldnt have labeled it "non-coupling" as soon I posted it lol)
Someone did ask me about it, and you seem to have already seen that response, yet you still felt the need to send another message basically implying that an explanation wasn't enough (turns out it actually wasnt enough because people said I was lying and in denial) and that my explanation was weird too? Which is whatever I already ended up clarifying that, English is not my first language and I type things with the help of a translator (I wish people could actually keep this in mind. I only type in English because it'll reach a wider audience and it's the language most of my followers know. Often I have to google words people tell me online, or I ask my friends fluent in English to explain things for me)
You can say "that's not what I intended" but that's how it came across... you wrote a lot of nice words while also saying it was understandable that people were ganging up on me over a drawing, it seemed patronizing.
That's why me and others took offense to it, but I think it's difficult to tell tone through text so I don't want to keep nitpicking this any further. If you say you had no ill intent then I believe you.
The following will just be me adding more context and not necessarily aimed at you: Again I understand the lack of context of my account can make people confused about my art, Ive made that clear many times.
The art I made where I said "if your parents didnt love you then it's obvious" was a direct response to people who were mocking me specifically for tagging the art as "non-coupling" because they didnt believe me. They got the context and decided I was trying to hide a fetish because a kiss on the cheek was "obviously shippy". They proceeded to compare this to drawing NSFW of Mob and Reigen by labelling it "non-ship" as if it was comparable to tucking a child into bed, that's what upset me. I did absolutely nothing to these people, I dont know them, if they said this privately I wouldnt care but it was public, and they also targeted another friend of mine for no reason.
All Im gonna say is that my drawing shouldnt have caused this much controversy in the first place. I labeled it "non-coupling" as soon as I posted it, which should've been enough honestly. It's not like I posted porn or anything like that, I got the idea from something Ive experienced in my family as a teenager and I could easily google stock images of the exact same scenario to use as reference, like I really didnt think it was that bad.
Anyways I think I've explained myself many times already. Im not gonna be hostile and say to people "roh t9awed dont ever send me anything else related to this" but just.. check if Ive already answered your question so that it doesnt end up being repetitive. If you have a question about this that I havent answered yet, then feel free to ask.

A lot of ppl here post a lot about what other ppl are or arent allowed to enjoy or write about and like??? Genuinely im unsure what yall’re talking about or like. Intending to do with posts abt this topic.
Like idk i get that a lot of ppl take “i personally dislike this thing” as “i think this thing should be outright banned” both bc. Some ppl conflate the two positions, and bc some ppl are used to understanding that the former means the latter.
And like again I can only rlly see. What ppl say broadly bc im just NOT in fandom spaces i have no clue what ppl rlly mean bc i havent seen the posts theyre reacting to?? But also like theres something in between which is the reality that there is a level of sensitivity ppl should have when approaching certain topics and especially when making mass media, bc there rlly isnt a lot you just outright Arent Allowed to Publish even as Fiction in the US, at least; but if you’re like, say making a tv show thats going on netflix i feel like a lot of ppl were in agreement that shows like 13 Reasons Why and Dahmer did handle their subject matters inappropriately in a way that Could Cause real Material Harm.
But thats the thing right. Most ppl talking abt “you shouldnt do x or y in your stories” are talking about Indie Media like it has the same intentions or ability to shape public opinion like mass media does; and its just weird to me to treat both as the same- and I do know a lot of ppl get rlly uppity when indie media isnt able to do the kinda of things mass media can bc they dont realise that difference.
But all this is still different from Censorship. I think “all media has a right to exist regardless of subject matter” is honestly an awful blanket statement, bc even if true from an anti-censorship pov, it kinda leads into the similar “my thing that i enjoy shouldnt be criticised bc it has a right to exist” and like??? Thats the issue, you can still object to media on a personal level and engage in criticism of it without wanting it Censored by some hypothetical government you have influence in to this extent. Idk why this is so polarised, either This Thing is Cancelled or everyones just a bootlicker for not liking this controversial thing like??????????

you will probably murder me in a painful way for saying this (based on the anger you leashed out in the previous asks) but saw 1 should be a stand alone film all along. even leigh&james who wrote the first 3 films think like this because theyre not involved in making the rest 7(?) films.
im not sure what u mean by anger in the last one? i think i kind of just answered their question about the screenplay as thoroughly as i could. who knows im a know-it-all whos dogshit with tone so its entirely possible. the first, sure i see it. i think its p obvious by my acc that im passionate about saw lol. i could see the whole 'the idea of disagreeing w this statement is insane' or 'i have eyes' are a bit rude! but also consider, i exaggerate to prove a point and be a little silly. a little joke, even.
honestly im not sure why im being asked these questions? dont get me wrong, i definitely enjoy them. clearly, given how long my responses are. im not an authority on saw, but i AM someone who thinks hes right abt everything so i do have a lot of things to say about it. i never claimed to be polite or personable, which is why i tend not to post my opinions unprompted. not everyone agrees with me and i have some pretty controversial opinions but different opinions rarely bother me. though, mark x amanda is just kind of strange?
i know a few ppl who agree that the mark saga was not... the best. and people are upset that leighs wishes were ignored in order to continue making sequels. i know he wasnt too happy abt the extra tape and stuff, which makes sense bc this is their franchise, but if they were not happy with it... im not sure why they bankrolled the rest? theyre producers on all of them after the first iirc. leigh might not like hoffman, his bastard child, but he seems content with us enjoying it so thats fine by me. if they truly hated it, i dont think theyd attach their names to it. that just looks like an endorsement. i think theyre just content with us enjoying it, leighs never seen them and probably never will but that doesnt mean he thinks we shouldnt see them either
i think a lot of horror would benefit if people were able to do things like this with franchises after people are done with them. theyre not always for everyone but i think a lot of people are fond of horror sequels. theyre just kind of a genre staple and i like what the rest of the films contributed to the lore. imagine if every horror franchise had a more open patent, like great gatsby? i think itd allow for more creativity. horror as a genre has so much world building bc it has to justify sooo much suspension of disbelief which means theres usually a lot to work with! imagine michael myers as a free character. id love to see what other writers think of his whole "fear personified" thing. if we allow more leeway with horror and less criticism at its imperfection, i think ppld enjoy it more. theyre cunt, theyre camp, and theyre fun and i consider myself a guy who likes fun
my favorite saw film when i first got into it was saw v for about a month and a half. its basically been a year since then and i would sacrifice the other films in a heartbeat for saw 2004, but i think theyre neat

"afabs who cant let go of their afabness" is a really weird way to say people who acknowledge that their gender isnt a magical shield to protect them from misogyny because of their assigned sex. that is very obviously who youre talking about. the nonbinary ""afabs"" who hold onto their assigned gender because its "safe" and demonize amab people in the same sentence dont fucking exist. EVERY time this word is used, its against people just trying to talk about their oppression and not wanting that to be erased by people in their own group. stop making shit up lmfao
this shouldnt be a controversial statement but all trans people are treated as whatever genders most convenient at the moment for our oppression. its not some weird threshold based on your gender and how much you pass that flips a switch and suddenly youre treated like [x] gender. (a framework that never ever actually works in the real world for a multitude of reasons, not just because of the existence of nonbinary, multigender or intersex people)
whatever rhetoric that can get weaponized against you will be weaponized against you, whatever rights can be stripped away from you will be. it is not a shock that your assigned sex plays a role in that, because yknow, its transphobes who cant let go of ones 'afabness'
"afab people still face misogyny" does not translate into "therefore amab people have male privilege" because! they dont! want us! to have privilege! we're all being fucked here!!!
(also ofc all of this is at anon not you)
All very good points! All trans people are treated as whatever genders most convenient at the moment for our oppression.

trying to draw 1:1 comparisons between racism and transmisia is never going to work. Queer politics cannot be copy and pasted onto other forms of oppression like racism.
It's not a problem to say that some people don't experience racism. You are arguing in the notes that saying this basic fact would somehow mean saying that mixed race people are "racism exempt" and comparing them to nonbinary and intersex people who experience bigotry regardless of identity, and that's literally just not how this works.
All you have to do to dispute the original racist argument is say it's racist and it's absolutely failing to understand anything about how racism works to pretend that the way Queer people are oppressed can be 1:1 mapped onto how people experience racism.
"some people don't experience racism" is not even remotely on the same level as radfems insisting that trans people don't actually experience transmisia.
As the person in the notes you're arguing with pointed out, this is just basic anti-racism. You cannot keep just responding that it's 100% exactly the same thing as transmisia and intersexism. That's not how this works.
The oppression Queer people face is not a universal experience of oppression and you can't just copy and paste it onto racism and call it a day.
This is just circling all the way back to white fragility. It is not a problem to aknowledge that some people are not oppressed by racism. It is 2024. Why are we having this conversation and why are you acting like the most basic anti-racist statement in the world is controversial??
All you have to do is call the people being racist racist. Not insist on trying to 1:1 map Queer oppression onto racism.
Editing to add the conversation in the replies for accountability and archiving:

trans-female said: luxiomahariel like this isnt a trick question. surely we all agree that mixed race people are affected by racism? this is basic anti-racism stuff, come on
i think talking about how some people dont face racism doesnt mean you have to say anything about any specific irl person and it’s fucking weird that you think it does

luxiomahariel said: trans-female no because this is exactly where this theory fucking leads when you start saying “all x dont experience y” and you have someone telling you to your face “actually im perceived as x and i experience y” you will be so in ur fucked up reality that u dont see their experiences as valid

I understand being upset and defensive about the endless shit The transrad fenders spewing, but you literally cannot allow their behavior to turn you into a reactionary racist like this. Your reaction to them co-opting The language of black people cannot be to also do that and claim that the basic factual statement that some people do not experience racism is somehow violently exclusionary when it is literally fucking not It is literally just a fucking fact that has nothing to do with you and impacts you in no way.
Other people being racist first does not mean that you get to be racist in your reaction to that. You cannot go around saying that you're a bad person if you understand that some people do not experience racism. That is just pure reactionary bullshit and you need to stop it and take several very large steps away and actually think this through logically instead of literally just reacting like a wounded animal that is now lashing out at everyone else, and being racist in doing so. You have people in the notes of this post calling someone stupid repeatedly for trying to explain to you the most basic facts about racism.
This kind of reaction to transrad phones being racist helps no one. You cannot fight racism with racism, and you cannot help trans people by doing racism and insisting that every single person on this planet is oppressed by racism when that's just flat out not fucking true.
You do not have to choose to die on the hill of insisting that every single person is a pressed by racism and that understanding the fact that some people do not experience racism has absolutely no bearing upon whether trans people are oppressed or not.
The appropriate response to other people being racist is not to double down on their very own racism and make it yours and then repeatedly call people who try to explain this to you stupid and chronically online and other frankly absurdly immature insults.
alright i think i can finally put words to why that "tma/tme is the same as black/nonblack" is utter bullshit
no, ur not actually saying "nonblack", what ur saying is more equivalent to "racism exempt"
basically implying that everyone who is nonblack, including mixed race people, including asians, including indigenous people, dont experience racism and grouping them in with the white people who oppress them
thats exactly the same thing ur implying with "transmisogyny exempt"
every single one of those groups has their own unique struggles with racism and to boil them all down to "racism exempt" is so extremely dangerous in and of itself

i guess to give my final thoughts on the matter, while it was his reaction that was the problem and he really shouldve just apologized (mostly to save face), the thing he actually said wasnt racist and is just a reflection of how how kr ppl living in kr society literally dont know what racism is.
to them racism is an offensive word or attacking someone based on their appearance, they dont have an understanding of the intricate layers of how racism works in a racially diverse society and as a result their only understanding of it becomes "negative thing + race = racist‼️" which is just extremely stupid
multiple times ive seen kr ppl on socmed call things racist when they were objectively not, and in the process just showing that to them, racism is just whatever they dont like
like "going to sk to get plastic surgery" shouldnt be a controversial statement bc sk is known to be a leader in it and even markets it liberally. but because plastic surgery isnt deemed positive by kr ppl (which is its own lengthy issue), saying the above becomes "racist" by associating smth krs deem bad with sk. idk im not explaining this too well but anyways this is a dumb as fuck rant blog filled with unhinged posts so what the fuck ever
