how many times do you think patia or laerryn offered to teleport for a visit? how many times did zerxus almost ask?

i love finnish slang culture so much like for example somehow we think "mielipide" (opinion) is too long of a word and just shorten it to mp (and not only just in text but out loud too), and then we just simply disregard any inflections for the next word

so instead of "[mikä on] mielipiteesi tuoleista?" ([what's your] opinion on chairs?) we would only say "mp tuolit" (opinion chairs) and i love it

why does every article reporting on idf war crimes go "hamas, who started the war on october 7th with their brutal terrorist attack slaughtering innocent israeli civilians, has condemned the idf's use of-"? like, nearly verbatim every single time. we know about october 7th. we know by now. half the time, hamas isnt even relevant but they gotta find some way to sow doubt and numb any potential compassion responses. will you get fired if you show sympathy for murdered palestinian civilians without first adding a disclaimer saying its all their fault for being born in gaza? if you call "palestinians under 18" children? if you use the words "murdered" or "brutal" or "massacre" for acts that didnt occur on october 7th? if you call a spade a spade? why are israeli reports front page news without proper fact-checking but palestinian reporting is always "allegedly" even when theres video evidence? why does the idf not get the hamas treatment of reminding everyone that theyre biased before treating their words as law, like they havent been caught bold-faced lying again and again?

Explanation of image/astronomy metaphor under the cut:

The image shows the binary star system (two stars that orbit each other) Sirius A and Sirius B. Sirius is one of the most well known stars (colloquially known as the Dog Star) as it is the brightest in the night sky, while Sirius B is 10,000 times dimmer than Sirius A but is still detectable via telescope and through its gravitational attraction to Sirius A.

Sirius A is what's known as a main sequence star, a star that is still fusing hydrogen into helium and is considered "alive". Sirius B is a white dwarf, a star that no longer produces fusion. It's at the end of the star life cycle, a "dead" star.

Sirius B was initially more massive than Sirius but used up its fuel, expanding into a red giant as the layers were blown apart, before eventually collapsing into a white dwarf. None the less, they remain gravitationally bound to one another in a binary system.

Fun fact: the material ejected from red giants often helps form new stars!

does anyone else constantly worry that when writing fanfiction and such that you’re somehow accidentally copying someone else’s idea/writing style even if you never even saw the original persons work and didn’t even know it had been done before and it was all completely unintentional but you still feel as if you somehow stole it or are you normal

ok i want to ask this in a nonjudgmental way and space but how do we feel about people who are literally living off of tumblr donations? like i'm not saying people who signal boost "oh a medical expense happened out of nowhere", but like specifically people who are living on their own and openly admit they have no income besides donations from tumblr users. before anyone accuses me of making up a person to be mad at: i am thinking of a specific situation that i've seen for months if not years now.
