Alright so I just want everyone to know I saw the new DnD movie last night and it SLAPPED

It was so funny, the characters were well written, and it had some beautiful practical effects. I know enough about DnD to understand some of the in-jokes and nuances, but background info isn't necessary to enjoy it. Also the costumes and set design were gorgeous.

I went in expected some Marvel overly CGI'd quipfest but was so pleasantly blown away by an absolute masterpiece. It was so FUN!

I cannot recommend this movie enough, especially if you enjoy DnD or just like watching actors having so much fun. 10000/10

i hateeee jokes about arab parents only wanting sons and not wanting daughters because 1- when it's like that, that's an awful thing and not something to be joked about and 2- it spits on the face of every arab parent who consistently has to put their middle finger up to the world and say fuck you my daughter is my greatest treasure and i'd rather have her than a thousand sons and i won't hear a word against her!! because in my experience these are the most loving parents to be found in the whole wide world

#like. for all my parents' faults and the ways they screwed up as parents #they DID pick a fight with a nurse over this!!#the nurse was like 'i'm so so sorry :/ but it's a girl :/' when my mother was pregnant with me #and they yelled at him 'why are you sorry??? DON'T BE SORRY FOR A BLESSING!'#also my extended family is. uh. very old school. so my parents straight up passive aggressively announced #'if anybody implies that this is bad news they're dead to us thanks <33'#like there's this genre of arab parents who are 100% aware of the society that they're bringing their daughter into and the problems in it #and they KNOW their daughter will have to put up with so much crap. so they try to compensate by openly loving her so strongly #and always boasting about her and telling everyone they're proud of her #so she never ever feels less than anybody else #it's very heartwarming when it happens and it's a direct resistance against the misogyny in our culture #and i hate that these jokes kind of spit on that effort #AND makes light of something so awful too

#A nice episode :) I have a lot of headache tho and forgot everything I wanted to say #The ss/kk is nice :) It's nice every time Akutagawa spontaneously saves Atsushi seemingly with no reason to #The animation was very nice! It's evident a lot of money and effort went into this season and these last episodes in particular #And I like the art style a lot better than the one in the other seasons. Even season 4 where the animation is comparatively as good #What more. The Kyouka screentime is nice. The whole Guild aftermath celebrations section is very nice and heartwarming to watch #I still take a lot of issues with the entire way Kyouka's entrance exam was conceived but I think they're fairly self-explanatory.#Also fundamentally coherent with b/sd's general worldviews so #But even then there's a line that bothers me to an unexplainable amount from the first time I watched it to now.#The “it hurts” when she's hugging Atsushi. And I've reflected over that line so long from the moment I first heard it...#I think. Its meaning is to symbolize how being in the light sometimes will still result to be too overwhelming for Kyouka–#to the point at times it will still end up hurting her. But that doesn't make it any less worth it #So to say‚ there's no such thing as perfect happy endings. But she is going to be okay nonetheless #BUT IT STILL BUGS ME. I feel like it's part of a school of thought for whom we should just accept the fact that there's evil in the world–#that we can't eradicate. And nothing can be done about it. Which I don't think is a functional or useful way of thinking?#ALSO I know it's. Most definitely‚ 99% not how the scene is supposed to be interpreted #BUT ATSUSHI IS THE ONE HUGGING AND THUS HURTING HER and you know how there is this very slight narrative that seemingly–#frames Kyouka and Atsushi as romantic partners and like... Idk.#In that context the line almost feels expression of a narrative of wives having to bear pain that is natural and unavoidable.#I know this definitely wasn't the intended meaning it's just a bad impression for some reason I can't be able to shrug off even after years #But don't listen to me #I don't think there's anything else to add. Overall a very good episode.#Take a shot every time someone says “all according to Dazai's plan”#random rambles

#everyones seen my 'if you see my ex-husband at pride' post. thinking about that sort of thing #like yeah i know y5 said they werent exactly on bad terms (though i think that was vague and debatable considering the way she #recounts her backstory with haruka not really painting him in a great light- for understandable reasons mostly dont get me wrong- but my #point is . i think there may have been more passive aggressive animosity lingering in there than what was presented in the romanticized #retelling of the story later on in the game basically). but come on. you cant tell me they'd get along just fine if she were to have lived.#say what you will about her and her intentions and etc but regardless she DID tear kiryu's family apart and guilt trip the SHIT out of him #to do so. knowing majima. and knowing how majima feels about kiryu. do you think he'd be like. cool with that #like if/when he heard the whole story i do Not think mirei's Heartwarming Vicarious Dreams would be enough to excuse the damage she did #and its such a wild coincidence itd be hard not to think- at least just a tinnnyyy bit- that she somehow found majima's weakpoint #(kiryu) and attacked it on purpose out of spite or something.#yeah all that and i think their relationship mustve been inevitably Very toxic and fucked up considering. everything about both of them #especially at that point in time. plus the very weird and not great gap in maturity (18-19 vs 27-28) and all that. no way that ended just #totally chill and amicable. no fucking way. she had fair reason to harbor resentment towards him and i wouldve liked to see that honestly #anyway so i mean you see what im getting at. perfect setup for the most toxic but kind of hilarious divorced dynamic Ever #if she were to ever come anywhere near kiryu again majima would be there in 0.2 seconds to sheild him from impending psychological warfare #rambling #majima #mirei #y5 #yakuza 5 spoilers

Idea for the Moth in Hisui thing with the issue of the ArcPhone, one of two things to help fix it: Either a magic scroll that acts like Tom Riddles Diary from Chamber of Secrets, or...Arceus would enter his dreams in another form to ensure he didn't get suplexed by Markoth mistaking him for being the Radiance.

Both are weird, but I hope these can help with getting an idea about the arcphone conundrum?

Both aren't bad suggestions at all tbh, another thought I had would be a modified tablet like the ones Ghost encounters that refer to Higher Beings - since written tablets are already a thing in Hollow Knight. Except like, a small portable one that receives text messages.

Part of me also just wants to use the ArcPhone itself for funny points, because he's not got a clue what this device is or how it works - and Arceus trying to text this man who has never seen such a structure before would just be really funny-
