I hate being a person who loves bugs, I can't say anything without the person I'm talking to reacting with disgust. Today I had to literally beg a coworker for the life of a spider, and then after I put it in a nook outside she thought it'd be funny to show me a video she took of her killing one. Like idk man. Birds scare the shit out of me but I still get why people love them. They come in pretty colors and they sound nice and they're interesting to observe. I don't understand why people don't feel the same about bugs. The rich amber color of a cockroach, the iridescent glow of a fly, the intricate hydraulics that power their little legs, the chirp of a beetle, the art of the spider's web... It's all so beautiful. Why is it the habit of so many to destroy?

#its a 500 sheet pack of kokuyo paper in a4 size #im so excited bc its basically a huge stack of fountain pen friendly paper at the same price of any old printer paper pack #ALSO. IM SICK OF LETTER PAPER THIS IS AN A4 HOUSEHOLD FROM NOW ON. theyre so similar it doesnt MATTER #i like stitching up little books now and then and it always bugs me that the paper i have on hand doesnt fold up to a5 or a6 size #now i can make little journals that actually fit in a hobonichi sleeve or something!!! and are nice to write in!!!#my old handmade books did not take fountain pen well so they got relegated to The Shelf #stationery

Wasps get pretty used to the presence of onlookers! They just keep carrying out their VERY (!) important tasks uwu I once spent like 20 minutes looking at wasps fortifying their little rooms in a wall against the oncoming winter! They were very smart and pretty and very sweet about me standing there <3

not going to lie i do find it quite upsetting that so many ppl think that animals that arent immediately relatable to humans are completely incapable of thought or feeling. and thats the only thing that matters when it comes to animal rights arguments a lot of the time

#quilts for me #It's going to be a couch lap quilt #my first project was very ambitious and I'm finished piecing the top but I'm taking a break before I assemble it #a break being... working on my second project. What can I say #cutting and ironing and piecing is fun. at least for simple seams. when I do more complex stuff I'll probably feel the oppsite #quilting #well piecing but yknow thats the tag to use to share quilt wips #bug quilt #the colors are a little different than I'd usually choose but there are only so many bug themed fabrics that i like #not going for cartoon bugs or too simplified here. well except the snails but i cannot resist snails. alas. theyre still not that cartoony #got their eyes in the right places and everything #the red and green beetles have detailed feet and i Love that. the ants are also perfect
