What is ur opinion abt Blot x Pepper?

Okay. So this one has a bit of a roundabout answer for reasons. so sorry in advance.

The first being, that I am sort of really eh... on this interpretation of the Phantom Blot. Even before I got into the comics, I found him very forgettable, except for one part (which I'll get to later). Then when I started to read the comics, I got SO invested in that Phantom Blot and realized how much of a missed opportunity the DT17 version was. It is hard for me to comment much on this version since he doesn't even feel like the Blot to me but a completely separate character. Now, I don't think it is the worst take ever and even in the comics he has many different and contrasting interpretations. But this one still felt like it missed the mark on what makes the Blot, Blot.

HOWEVER...

I will say there is one thing about this version of the Phantom Blot I did like and it was actually his relationship with Pepper. Oddly enough I found her and their friendship much more compelling and memorable than him alone. I really like how she really brought him out of his shell and how he went from a lone wolf to deeply caring about her. I'm also just a sucker for opposites attract in general. I really like the idea of them just being best buds and enjoying each other's company. Maybe even quitting Fowl to be their own dynamic duo. I also could see how they could eventually fall in love and end up a power couple... There's just one problem...

You see since I like this relationship so much, but not so much the Phantom Blot, I actually had thoughts on what would happen if a more "Blot-like" Blot met her and what their relationship would be like. I actually hope to be able to expand on that in my fanfiction series. However, I ended up going in a direction with them that would make shipping them a bit... well... weird.

I mean I did say that I see the DT17 Blot as sort of a separate character from the typical Phantom Blot. So maybe it wouldn't be as much of a problem. But it still feels kind of weird to me. I don't know.

So long answer short, I can see why people would ship them and normally I would find their ship cute too. But because of complicated reasons, I don't know if I can really hardcore ship them. But honestly, I am totally cool with seeing them as just the best pair of pals ever. Ridding the world of all magic with matching BFF bracelets.

I adore the way that the bracelet's power was still not enough to stop James from decorating their entire house in a way that he knew Cordelia would like. my youngest cousin likes to draw a lot. like, he'll bring his little college-ruled, 70-sheet notebook to family functions and draw in it. and like, he's not really a little kid anymore. this makes me sound bad, but i think he's like, ten or eleven? i'm not sure. the point is that i never saw either of my siblings or any of my other cousins draw as their "preferred activity", past maybe seven or eight.

and i'm ngl that makes me really excited because i have the chance to 1) instill some real appreciation for art in this baby, and 2) tell him the things it took me 27 years to learn about art-making.
