#m #dumbassery #I've been making do with some rather crappy ones I got from work since my old ones stopped charging months ago #and then I lost the left ear bud of those.#which finally pushed me to get new ones #they're great!#the ones I got from work claim to have noise cancelation but it's a stinking lie #these ones actually do and god I've missed it #also quite a nice equalizer #and fucking finally they're letting me set controls individually rather than the stupidest preset combinations #I never want to long press to change a continuous value what is wrong with you.#especially when you give no indication of when the long press ended and the volume increase started

I work every other Saturday which means I am working today, my bday, but I actually love my Saturday shifts. The area is unusually lively due to the Saturday farmers market, the students and profs are lovely, and I get to work in a more comfortable environment than the office (sofa outside the classroom). Also, without any officemates around, I can work at my own pace, which means intense bursts of productivity followed by long periods of messing around. I feel bad about visibly not working when in the office, so I get very fidgety and stir-crazy by the end of the day.

#my supervisor keeps making sympathetic faces about my saturdays #and I'm trying to convince her I'm not just being polite about enjoying them #they're great!

Obsessed with characters who portray themselves as worse than they are. Who are lying to everyone including themselves about it. People generally assume if someone's lying about themselves they're trying to look better but sometimes they're trying to look worse. They attribute agency to where they had none, add intent to accidents, try to convince everyone that this is something they did instead of something that happened to them.
