Something that i love from both dib and dipper is that they aren't the typical "nerd" stereotype

Dib by not having the same cliche interests and having an unhinged and a bit crazy personality and dipper by being(at least at show ending) a confident person with no fear of telling the harsh truth or being sassy/sarcastic

Alex sometimes just stares at Lankmann.

Not in a weird way, Alex is pretty sure that old man is allergic to anything more than strictly business, but just staring. Sometimes the sharp ends of his metal hands poke out his gloves and his joints creak like metal, everyone knows but is too polite to point it out.

Though, Alex wonders sometimes, if they had metal limbs would they be so obvious? It doesn't seem like Lankmann cares if people know or not. Would they be so uncaring too?

Alex sometimes sees him with a cane, its an old thing that theyre sure is made mostly of tape at this point. They wonder why he doesn't replace it.

Alex has also been looking around for cane designs, going through magazines and researching the different types of cane. They won't tell anyone why, but some closer acquaintances have suspicions.

i was debating with a friend and we were talking about the dynamics within valdangelo and solangelo, and it got me thinking about how similar leo and will are like:

both are head counselors who bear a lot of responsibility within cabins that have dealt with the deaths of previous counselors (charlie, lee/michael)

both are really insecure and anxious

they get frusturated when they can't fix other people's problems because they believe that [insert their main ability] is their only skill, and that if they don't use that skill to help solve problems, it means they have no use at all (mechanics, healing)

both have upbeat, cheerful personalities

both smile to hide their true emotions (leo in literally every book; will forcing smiles in multiple instances, especially in toa)

they have a lot of trauma that they don't exactly talk much about, not wanting to be a bother to the people around them

both aren't great at using weapons

both have a tendency to overwork themselves

have one ability they once avoided using (fire, glowing ability)

both struggle to understand loved ones (except will and nico work it out and...i don't know what the fuck caleo is anymore)

i honestly feel like the main differences between them is that while will's job revolves around helping others and connecting with them, leo is, deep down, not really a 'people person' and has a hard time knowing how to help them - as said in tlh, "he was better with machines than people."
