This was a doozy, honestly. Not only did i choose so many scenes I wanted to include, I also chose the ones that caused me the most emotional damage and spent A LOT of time drawing these. Which means I also spent a lot of time staring at reference pictures of Tom Glynn-Carney's Aegon almost crying and being absolutely miserable.

This is fine.

But I'm pretty happy with the end result, especially the last illustration.

Aemond being out there, putting the "slay" in kinslayer. Have you noticed his speech boxes have turned from white to black to symbolize his "fall to the dark side"? Yes, I know he's killed Lucerys before, but this story is explicitly about his relationship to Aegon.

Just woke up from a nightmare genuinely distressed and sweating that my tumblr was hacked and they changed my url to will graham’s sock and everyone unfollowed me except for neil gaiman who kept on commenting ‘flop post’ on everything, I dreaded seeing the 1 note on my posts knowing it’s mr. gaiman himself bullying me. I think I’m going to log off for a while.

An elidibus piece I made for an event back in august, went a bit experimental on this one bc I wanted to capture that crystal/glass-like look to reflect the crystal tower where his trial takes place

I think i rushed this piece a lot bc i needed to move onto other things i wanted to sell for the booth and there were some ideas i had to discard during the wip stage but overall i'm glad i got to do a little tribute to my favorite unsundered :')

thinking about the fact that the lyrics of the "open arms" chorus are polites' final thoughts and polites' final word spoken aloud is "captain" (desperate, hurt, pleading) and how that means even as he was at the mercy of the cyclops, even as he was probably terrified but all too aware of what was about to happen to him, he was still thinking about all of the guilt he knew was already in odysseus heart. how much more guilt was GOING to be in odysseus' heart after his death.

and how he spent those final seconds wanting to tell odysseus to still, despite it all, greet the world with open arms.

I'm hugging Sunny, Pomme, and Dapper tightly right now because man, they're just kids, they should just be kids, going on adventures or building projects with their parents without worrying that something bad is going to happen to their dads...

But something bad did happen. Something very, very bad. And now they're just kids but they're doing everything they can and travelling to the ends of the earth just to get them back. They're just kids, but they're doing everything they can to save the person they love the most, no matter the cost and no matter how harrowing the journey may be.

Dapper and Pomme literally went to the deep dark and defeated a fucking warden just for the mere chance that they'll acquire a compass that had little to no chances of bringing their father back. They risked their lives for a compass that didn't even work, and they'll risk their lives again and again just to bring their dad back.

And little Sunny is literally out there, in a small wooden boat, alone in the ocean somewhere- maybe looking for her dad's body? Trying to look for the purpose Creation said her pa needed? How do you even start, where would you even look for that??

It doesn't matter because they will get them back. They will return. They have to...right? All they have is hope and love and they're just kids. But if they don't try to save their parents, then who will?
