absolutely has to be we shall be free; we shall find peace by @blorb-el; i’ve said it before but every time this fic updates i see multiple chats explode into action in real time. it spends the exact right amount of time embedding us in clark’s horrible situation while also weaving in A+ side characters and glimmers of future comfort/happiness, with the end result being me unable to think about anything else for a good 72 hours after each read (and reread).

On Sara and Grissom’s rehearsal dinner looks:

For the rehearsal dinner, I very specifically picture this for Sara’s look. It’s one of my very favourite JF looks. Earlier seasons Sara had some really good court looks (“Happenstance” (07x08), anyone?), so I totally think she could pull it off. 

Given the frequency with which both Gil Grissom and William Petersen wear all black, I was going to say that Grissom looked a little like when he said goodbye to Sara at the lab in “Immortality” (16), only with black dress pants and a long-sleeved black dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up a bit. But then I found this picture, from a September 22, 2015 press event at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills. So, yes, please; we’ll go with that latter one.

Now you just have to go listen to a little CCR (“Long As I Can See the Light”), as well as The Righteous Brothers (“Unchained Melody”), and everything will be perfect. 💕

FOR REALLLLL I’m still salty about Westallen being upstaged. Twice!! First Oliver proposed to Felicity during Westallen’s rehearsal dinner (and Felicity said “no”), then Felicity interrupted Westallen’s do-over wedding because she decided “no actually I do want to marry Oliver”!!

Like…can y’all play out your drama somewhere that isn’t at someone else’s rehearsal dinner and wedding oh my god

A list of things about my dad for Father’s Day

- wanted a daughter so badly that when I was born he burst into tears.

- saved me from a collapsing swingset when I was toddler. I don’t remember it but he will never forget it.

- his name in my contacts is Grande Chevo after the nickname the indigenous locals gave him during a charity trip to Chihuahua, Mexico where he helped vaccinate the livestock

- we have a running list of Non Sequiturs. the most recent addition is “No, that was a completely different gorilla.”

- he keeps an ongoing collage in his home office that started when I was a baby. (He gave up the one he had in college when he joined the ministry/got married/became a father because it was nsfw, so I’m told)

- the collage of now has a photo of him in front of the original collage, cigarette in his mouth and cowboy hat on his head, likely the most cool he’s ever looked

- calls his home office The Batcave

- every time I mention an opera title that’s new to him he asks, “Is that the one with the Barber in it?”

- he saves up his quarters to give me for my coin-operated laundry, and hands them off in recycled pill bottles

- prepandemic he had a career as an amateur Santa for several Christmases. So much that he owns his own suit

- had an enemies to best friends arc with my cat (they’re besties now)

- had an enemies to best friends arc with me*

*I was a Momma’s Girl as an infant and a bit of a misandrist but now my dad is one of my favorite people.

How do you feel about the arc now it’s wrapped? It’s such a mash I just don’t know. There was some great plotting and some terrible plotting and some dialogue that was amazing and some that left us all really confused. Some scenes are up there with the very best and I think that means I’m mostly ok but this has been such a rollercoaster and I don’t know if I’ll ever trust Tim again so it's like I've come away with trust issues lol but I also have even more respect for Ronen and Rafael as actors.

I feel absolutely everything you feel, I have nothing to add. Just this!
