Taking the visage of a mortal in this moment (lest he be witnessed), Stolas takes it upon himself to visit the Earl with gift in tow. He sets a navy blue box down with golden astrological designs painted and etched into its surface. Within, there is a series of carefully rolled lunar charts, and a series of other celestial maps. Additionally, a very small leatherbound journal featuring a few pressed flowers with their names and other notes penned by the demon prince himself. He doesn't linger long enough to be found or thanked - he merely wanted to show his appreciation for the boy's interest.

There was the sound of shuffling right outside his office door, either it was Sebastian about to check up on the progress of his work or Finnian playing around again. However, even the movement of these ones didn't match the familiarity of the others ; and he's noted every servant's steps by now for his own peace of mind. Putting the ink back into it's holder, he decided to get up from his seat.

Just as he opened the door, whoever it was disappeared from view. Even sticking his head out into the hallway didn't provide any context, but something told him to look down ; and that he did.

At the earl's feet was the most visually stunning box, decorated to an all too familiar aesthetic. Ciel never found a gift done so beautifully, even when he knelt down to pick up the box he wondered if this was a joke from his butler. As he approached his desk, he set it down to gingerly remove the top off. His head tilted curiously as he carefully removed the contents, sprawling them across his desk.

"These are beyond any map maker's capabilities-- and the detailing, it's something I've never seen before." He would open the leather book, noticing how the pressed flowers remained in place neatly and by category based on family written in neat cursive. "But, who would leave this for me? Maps of the stars? Pressed plants? It makes no sense--"

That's it! It was a gift, but not just any gift -- one from a demon he knew all too well.

"Stolas!"

Steve gets really into birdwatching after patrolling the woods around Hawkins for upside down creepy-crawlies and then accidentally joins the Hawkins Community Birdwatching Society, and rightfully doesn’t tell anybody about it because he still wants the party to think he’s cool.

However. Eddie brings his uncle around the party for the first time and before he can introduce him, Wayne’s like, “Hey, Steve. Diana tell ya that she saw a pileated woodpecker outside of Melvards last week?”

When Steve doesn’t respond with confusion, a record scratches inside Robin and Eddie’s brains at the same time because

“This is Wayne? Your friend Wayne??” Robin asks at the same time that Eddie exclaims, “Steve from bird club is Steve Harrington?!”
