This may sound like such a stupid thing to worry about, but I have no idea what kind of wedding dress I want. I plan on sewing my own, but every single dress on my pinterest board is completely different, and I have no idea what kind of style I want.

I just want a nice dress that makes me feel happy :(

+ i do think he'd be a prolific love letter writer.  or, if not always full blown letters, at least love notes.  you know, things tucked under tea saucers for them to find.  occasionally things tucked in a book they were reading.  you know, stuff like that, just ardently passionate little things to tuck away for a rainy day, i guess.  especially if it's like…an in it to win it kind of relationship where the ardor is mutually present.

+ flowers.  like it's cliche, sure, but there's just something about being given a particularly perfect bloom plucked just for you just because someone was thinking about you.  a partner gets bonus points if they press them in a journal or dry them to keep them.

+ words of affirmation are part of it, for sure, he's not exactly shy with praise or encouragement, is he?  and it's not like he's shy when it comes to talking about feelings, either (which is ridiculously refreshing and i won't lie about that, good for you, emmrich).  yes, this undoubtedly transfers to, you know, more amorous stuff, too, won't lie, so praise kinks beware (or why aren't you knocking down his damn door).  

+ quality time is another one with a label that applies in its own way.  like…personally i think - his fidgeting about where to take strife if he's unromanced aside - someone he can actually enjoy spending time with in…just normal little ways, the boring stuff, or the not-date stuff, is just as important as being, like.  romantically or sexually compatible.  like i literally cannot imagine emmrich being happy with someone he can't talk to.  or someone that's just generally not super comfortable with what he does as a mage and as a member of the mourn watch, that bone of contention, i think, would kind of end up putting the final nails in the coffin (ha! seewhatididthere) of any relationship.  in other words, you gotta be down to clown and understand even work can be a date if you're with your significant other (i mean, iykyk).

+ he's a little too restrained, i think, to be into public displays of affection and he's not twenty anymore, there's no need to sloppily make out in front of the maker and everybody.  this is a guy secure enough in himself and in his relationship he happily sends rook off (with one of his mother's tea cups even) with davrin (who is a whole lot of hot elf) on a picnic (which could be easily misread) and doesn't bat an eyelash, makes the tea for them to take with them.  so i don't think that kind of thing is on the table with him, i don't think for him there's a thrill in publicly being like that or the thrill of possibly getting caught or anything.  

+ which isn't to say he's not exceedingly comfortable with that stuff in private.  hell, half of y'all have romanced him, you know how that goes.  and you can read between the lines enough to know the physical is important to a relationship with him, too.  idk how to say it any other way, honestly, but:  emmrich fucks.  and i think when there's a deeper emotional connection hand in hand with being intimate is where he'll be happiest.

+ i think what's actually important, when it comes to traits he's looking for, is going to be kind of simple, actually:  you don't have to be an expert and you don't have to have the technical vocabulary of something, but at least being more curious about the things around you than a teaspoon is a must.  this is a well educated guy, right, and he clearly loves teaching and learning (because he's inquisitive about people and places and forthcoming with all kinds of fun information whether you want it or not), so someone that matches his vibe on that at least in spirit is kind of…well, necessary.  it's why, while i get while the mw rook thing is so popular, i think someone from a different background is a great fit for him, especially if they can express curiosity without judgement about his own field, because it's a mutual sharing of passions that are different from his and a learning experience for both of them.  loving someone through learning about what they love.  i do think a genuine kindness is also a must, as well as an open-mindedness about things like spirits in a way the rest of thedas outside of rivain don't exactly express.
