One week later…

You were outside your house, getting ready for a walk, when suddenly you felt someone touching your shoulder. You turned around and your heart skipped a beat when you saw him standing before you. His eyes were filled with pure desire and you felt very clearly that he wanted you again. He didn’t show any aggressive signs, but he seemed ready to feed on you.

“You…” you mumbled in a whisper.

He just smiled: “I didn’t think ya would forgive me…but I’m thankful for ya givin’ me a second chance!”

You closed the door and you talked without looking at him: “Look, it’s not a second chance, it’s just that I wanted to talk about…your bite!”

He seemed confused: “My bite? Ya wanna complain about that?!”

You stood in silence for a while and then you turned to him: “I don’t remember to have given you permission to do that!”

He chuckled: “Well, I think I got a lil’ carried away, but ya can’t blame me for a lil’ taste, c’mon!”

“Oh yes I can…I feel strange and weird since then!”

He smiled again: “Ya know why? Because a vampire bite it’s like a sweet addiction…so, in short, now that I’ve bit ya…you’ll crave my bite again and again!”

 “WHAT??” you asked in shock.

He tried to calm you down: “Look baby, it ain’t that bad…it won’t make ya lose control…actually I think you’ll find it sort of…pleasurable!”

“Pleasurable? What kind of a sick person are you? Oh yeah…sorry…you’re not a person, you’re a fucking vampire!”

He hushed you: “Don’t talk like that please…like I said, it won’t be so bad…it’s like a warm and fuzzy feeling!”

You walked away: “Look, I’ve forgiven you, but please, don’t look for me again, okay?”

He tried to protest, but then his face wore a big smile: “Oh don’t ya worry…it’ll be YOU to come looking f’me!” then he walked away, leaving you speechless and a little scared.

That night you went to bed and you fell asleep almost immediately, even if his words still echoed in your mind. Suddenly you woke up, as you felt your heart beating fast and you began to sweat. You felt cold shivers down your spine, but before you could do anything, that cold turned into something else. Your heartbeat slowed down and you felt a hot sensation spreading through your chest. That strange feeling took over your whole body, as you felt something you never felt before, something between excitement and anticipation. It was an amazing feeling, that grew stronger as a new wave of warmness hit you, filling your body with arousal and desire. Then suddenly it all vanished, leaving you panting on the bed, with your eyes pointing at the ceiling. Your hand reached for your phone and you wrote him a message:

“You were right…I’m sorry!”

He answered almost immediately, with a hint of arrogance: “I knew it! That wasn’t so bad, was it?”

“I got very scared…it was strange…”

“That’s just the beginning, it’s gonna be much more intense. Once you’ll feel it for a while, you’ll even begin to crave for it! Anyway, I won’t try to convince ya again…I’ll wait for ya!”

The following night you felt that sensation again and it was stronger than ever. With your own surprise, you grabbed your phone and you called him. He picked up the phone quickly: “Hello?”

You were breathing hardly: “I…I’m sorry to call you, but…”

“…let me guess…that feeling again, right?” he asked laughing.

And then those words rushed out of your mouth, like a bullet from a gun: “I need to see you…now!”

He smiled and his fangs popped out: “I’m on my way hun’!”

He got to your house in a matter of seconds and you almost jumped when you saw him beside your bedroom door. He smelled the air around: “I feel it…”

He looked at you, he noticed your red cheeks, your dilated pupils and the desire look on your face. Just the sight of you made him feel excited and he couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride.

You sat on the bed panting: “You’re here…” you got up and you ran into his arms, holding him tight. You were scared to death, but you felt that in that moment he was the only thing you desired. He held you back kissing the top of your head and he couldn’t think of anything he wanted more than to feed from you again, to feel your warm neck in his teeth, your blood flowing down his tongue. Then you whispered in his ear: “Please bite me!”

His breath dies in his throat. He couldn’t believe his ears. Your thirst for him was so intense, that you were actually begging for it. He grabbed your chin gently and he asked: “Are ya sure hun’? Is that what ya want?”

You nodded in silence, as the feeling grew even stronger. He pressed his body on yours as he lowered his head to your neck. You were so close that he could feel your breath on his skin. He felt his fangs sliding down, ready to sink into your neck again.

“Wait!” you stopped him. “The first time I was asleep…I didn’t feel a thing, but now I’m awake. Will it hurt?”

He smiled gently: “Ya worry too much, just lemme do it, it won’t hurt at all. I promise the only thing you’ll feel will be an immense wave of pleasure!”

He took your neck in his hand and he moved your hair away. He hesitated a little bit more, then he slowly sank his fangs deep into your neck, feeling your warm blood filling his mouth. You whimpered in pain, but it soon became a great sense of pleasure. He was right. Your neck felt so soft and he took his time and as he kept drinking from you, he slid a hand around your back and held you closer. He pulled back from you as he still kept holding you in his arms and he looked at the little marks he left on your skin. You looked at him and for a while you got really scared; his usually blue eyes were now red as fire.

“What the…”

In a second their deep-ocean blue came back. You cried into his arms: “I…I don’t wanna become a vampire…”

“Don’t worry…it was just a taste. Ya won’t turn into a vampire. The only way you’ll turn, is if ya let me feed again with a full bite, but if ya wanna stay human, I won’t ask again!”

“You mean it’s up to me?”

“Of course it’s up to you, that’s a pretty hard decision to take! I’ll stay out of it and I won’t bother ya again. But…if ya want a taste of a different life…all ya have to do is call me. And trust me, that last bite will change your life forever!”

“A full bite…you mean…” Yes. He meant that. He would have to drink all your blood, down to the last drop.

“Look baby, I know it sounds scary, but I promise it won’t hurt, I’ll make it very pleasant for ya. I wouldn’t bite ya in a way ya wouldn’t enjoy!”

You were about to cry: “Oh my God…It’s all so strange, so weird…can I…can I ask you a thing?”

You both sat down on the bed: “What d’ya wanna know hun?”

You had so many things to ask him, but you tried to make order in your mind and you chose your question: “That feeling…it’s the same for everyone? I mean…all the people get those cravings after a vampire bat?”

“Yeah, but in many different ways…it’s never the same! Most people actually ask for another bite pretty quickly after the first one…and for others it may take weeks! But the common thing is the desire. It becomes like an addiction!” he smiled “In your case it’s very strong and you could feel it again in a few hours!”

“So soon?”

“Yeah…I felt a strange connection with ya…that’s why the craving’s so strong! But like I said before, I’ll give ya time to make a decision. I’ll bite ya only if ya ask me to! I promise! But lemme tell ya something…you’ll know when the right time comes!”

You looked at him in his eyes: “Can…can you stay here tonight?”

He smiled: “Really? Ya mean ya don’t wanna send me away?”

“No, I…I would be happy if you’ll stay!” you replied. You were scared and confused and even if he was a dark creature, next to him you felt safe. “I want you to stay next to me…in case the cravings are too bad, but…I’m not ready to sleep with you yet!”

“I get it, don’t worry…I’ll sleep on the couch and I won’t try to do anything if ya don’t give me permission! Cross my heart!”

He picked you up and he laid you gently on the bed, covering your body with a light blanket and he gave you a sweet caress: “Good night my angel!”

The morning after you woke up and saw him sleeping on the floor, next to the bed. He didn’t want to leave you alone. As he woke up he smiled at you: “How was your night baby?”

You had a wonderful sleep, no cravings and no strage feelings. He was happy to hear that, but suddenly his smile disappeared and he sat close to you: “Hun I was thinking…ya should come to my place!”

You couldn’t believe your ears: “What? Why?”

“I think my home would be a better option for now…at least until ya make your decision. In my home I’ll be able to take care of ya and fully satisfy ya and ya will also feel much more comfortable!”

“That’s very nice, but…I don’t wanna be a burden…”

He laughed, holding your face into his hands: “Being a burden? My love, you’ll never be a burden to me!”

His offer was really tempting. You knew that close to him you would have been even more safe. You accepted: “Wait, let’s make one thing clear: If I accept to come with you, I don’t want you to think I already took my decision…I’m not sure yet!”

“Don’t worry…ya can leave on your own at anytime, nothing permanent!” he replied.

“You know…I read something about vampires lately and…is it true that you can’t lie? That everything you say is always the truth?”

He stood up and walked around the room as he explained: “Yeah…it’s true. Vampire cannot lie. And you’ve been able to verify that many times already, while talkin’ to me!”

“Wow, it’s wonderful but…I think it could be terrible too. I mean, people could make you say something you wanna keep for yourself!”

He nodded and turned a little sad: “Yeah…you’re right. Humans use this ability for the opposite effect. Sometimes they manipulate us into revealing confidential information that could harm us…it’s a double-edged sword…which is why we should always be cautious when talkin’ to humans!”

You listened to his words with a bit of sadness. You never saw him that vulnerable. He wore the face of an immortal and cruel creature, but deep inside you knew he was totally different, maybe he still had a bit of his lost humanity. You decided to ask him another question. Since he couldn’t lie, you knew you were about to know the truth: “Why did you chose me? And…why do you want me home with you?”

His face softened even more and his cheeks turned a little red: “I chose ya because you’re innocent and good…I felt ya deserved the chance to see another side of life. As for why I want ya home with me…that is very simple. I wanna take care of ya!”

“But…what’s your real intention? I mean…is your final goal to turn me into a vampire or…is the choice really up to me?”

He took a deep breath. He knew he couldn’t lie, even if he was afraid to hurt you with his answer: “Ya know I can’t lie hun’…my desire is indeed to turn ya into a vampire, sooner or later, and to have ya next to me for eternity, but that is only my selfish desire. Like I said, I’ll let ya decide and I’ll respect your decision, whatever will it be!”

“Wow…you know what? I think I could come with you, but…promise you won’t rush me to choose between you and my life!”

“Promise!” he raised his hand and then he gave you a little kiss. “Ya can stay with me for two days or six months…or even one year, but I’ll never force ya to stay. I’ll let ya choose based on the feelings in your heart!”

JSHK 76 Analysis

This wasn’t as dense as the last chapter but I still have some thoughts and theories. C: 

Starting off, Nene is so excited to get a hint at Hanako again. You can see the little wind up key just beneath him, and it’s hitting both of their shadows. I’m thinking that Amane’s key somehow connects the twins and Nene. 

The hug above looks an awful lot like Nene and Hanako’s hug during severance. I’m hoping they see each other again soon. Fingers crossed :D

They’ve already established that curses are a thing, yet boundaries are closed, so I’m pretty confused by the living Yugi baby out of the boundary. Maybe the Red House is similar to nowhere that leads to anywhere? That place is technically not a boundary, yet it leads to ...well... anywhere. Also, there’s a keyhole next to Hanako’s image and a stuffed bear right below it. I’ll elaborate more on the bear later.

Nene has no luck with wooden floors. 

Nene gets pulled into the goop pit when she tries to bring the baby out of the house.

It looks an awful lot like No. 6′s garbage pit. The same centipedes and butterflies are present. 

I made a whole post a little while ago about how I thought Hanako was a Kannagi/sacrifice but I wouldn’t be surprised if Tsukasa was either, especially since No.6 says this after he found out everyone fell into the pit. Those creepy eyeball butterflies are present in the first image as well. 

It’s the same rhyme! It definitely adds to the Kannagi/Yorishiro theory for Tsukasa. 

I wanted to revisit this scene from study camp. As I understand it, kids stay up all night to protect each other from the reaper (No.6) and that’s what the nursery rhyme is about. 

The rhyme at the very beginning of the arc pulls all of the concepts together for me. The first ghost led Akane and Nene to Hanako’s elevator, which brought them to No. 6′s boundary. The second “ghost” seems to be some version of Tsukasa. The first ghost looks like Sumire, No. 6′s Yorishiro, and Tsukasa is frequently theorized to be Hanako’s Yorishiro. 

With some convincing, Hanako helps Sumire out of her boundary. She’d been stuck in a time loop and unable to leave since she’d awaken as a Yorishiro.

“Tsukasa” mentions being unable to leave the Red House.

The Tsukasa we know hadn’t seen Amane in years and was rusty. Was he stuck in the boundary all that time? Sumire and Tsukasa are two similar characters, and they had to have a good reason to introduce No.6 and (probably) Hanako’s boundary in the same arc.

I’m impressed that Kou picked up on Tsukasa. I know he’s had some pretty traumatic experiences with him but they’ve been limited.

These two scenes parallel each other. 

Kou said this just after. Now, Tsukasa is surrounded by toys.

and Kou woke up in his toy room. I’m a little worried about the implications since Tsukasa seems to have at least some control here, though he doesn’t seem malicious. 

I like how >:O Tsukasa is about getting answers from Kou. Assuming the translation is correct, his choice in honorifics for Nene and Kou are strange. Usually, he doesn’t use any at all. 

A few reasons why these scenes are connected

1) Future romance subplot. There’s been more than enough implications that the love triangle will progress on.

2) Tsukasa wants to use Nene on Kou the same way I suspect he’s using Nene on Hanako and Kou on Mitsuba.

3) Kou is a Nene’s type, a prince, or someone with a royal bloodline. They talked about the Minamotos and the Akanes as being influential families earlier in the arc, so perhaps it’s something like that.

4) That’s our Tsukasa for sure. He knows Kou and Nene’s names, and hesitated when being confronted about Hanako, and this scene.

I WILL HOLD YOUR HAND

These two scenes remind me of each other. I wonder if it’s a deliberate connection we’re supposed to make because of the clocks/clock keepers. There’s water running but none is pooling on the floor, which makes me think it somehow connects to a boundary.

Also, the bear. The bear is dressed exactly like lil Tsukasa. I dug a little into folklore and found this.

Perhaps a reference to his Hanako?

There’s definitely some weird foreshadowing/symbolism with the twins happening here that I don’t yet understand

Mostly because Hanako and Tsukasa like holding hands and the previous bear comment

This is confirmation that it is the Yugi family home. I’m curious as to why Tsukasa is the one greeting Nene and Kou (and presumably whomever else walks into the house) as opposed to his brother/both of them.

First of all, the architecture/decor of this house is nice and I like it. Second of all, this makes me wonder if Hanako and Tsukasa’s parents are still trapped here.

I’ve always wanted to see Kou and Tsukasa work together because they’re really similar IMO. Both have sneaky older brothers they love, they do first, think later, and accidentally 3rd wheel like all the time. Fingers crossed that next chapter is longer =D

The Wicked Powers Theories

The Wicked Powers has recently been getting me excited WAY too much - which says a lot about how weird I am since Cassie hasn’t even started on it yet (LOL).

aND, so, I kind of thought it’d be nice to jot down some predictions and theories on how the series might go and maybe some thoughts on THE SHIPS (that really do be the real TEA).

So.Here we go.And do let me know about any thoughts you have on this topic as well - I read anything about TWP like a crazed creature these days istg.

1)The POV has already been envisioned to be from Ty, Dru and Kit. I absolutely love this settlement since they are all very intriguing characters. Ty is an interesting person and his actions are always unpredictable, so we might enjoy this one. And,I believe he is at The Scholomance while the story progresses, followed by Livvy (Ghost Livvy, I mean).It’s still unclear what Livvy’s situation is, so I can’t wait to know more about that - it’s bound to be something unexpected. And, as for Dru, it’s kinda obvious. We all know that WE HAVE A LOVE TRIANGLE COMING UP. But, other than that, we also know she attends The Academy and finally starts to makes some friends and even has that really close Italian (..or was it Spanish???) Shadowhunter friend who’s her age and Cassie also revealed that the two are really tight indeed. And I will be honing in on the Love Triangle soon - I told you I’ll be trying to spill whatever tea I’m guessing at.  And, as for the last character WE HAVE KIT! OMFG YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE OLDER BROTHER KIT.LIKE GOSH DARN IT HE IS SO ADORABLE AND MINA IS SO EFFING CUTE I CAN’T EVEN-                          AND KIT’S TRAINING WITH JEM AND HE IS GOING TO BE A WELL-TRAINED SHADOWHUNTER IN TWP, SO YAYYYY!! And, I absolutely CANNOT wait for MinaXKit interactions, they are the cutest siblings ever and I absolutely know that Mina grows up to be sarcastic. I can’t wait for the possible sarcastic arguments between Kit and 4-year old Mina. YOU THINK I FORGOT ABOUT KITxTY? NOPE.THE REAL SHET’S COMING UP.

2)Now,we know that the storyline is going to have something to do with that Faerie Heirloom that was from the Rosales Family. And, Cassie also said it was going to be kind of an Arthurian Legend-ish story. If you don’t know the Arthurian Legend, I suggest you read on it. I’m not sure if Cassie meant the characters and LOVE Aspect of it or the LEGEND aspect of it as in the stuff about Excalibur and all. But, for now we’ll view it in both and examine it, shall we?

King Arthur's reign ends after his wife and best knight have an affair.

This is the drama in the legend.But, there are no relationships with the MCs yet. So idk. I’m clueless. Like, maybe Dru has a relationship?? Okay I’m clutching at practically nothingness so don’t judge me. :/

So,it’s obviously something to do with the LEGEND.

I am afraid I cannot say too much about it, since I have never read too deeply about it. But, here’s some of the basics:

-He managed to pull out Excalibur from the rock it was stuck in.

-He wielded Excalibur for the people and not for his own self-interest.

-He gets help from a wizard named Merlin.

-The peeps go on a quest.

This last situation and the quest for the Holy Grail (the vessel used by Christ at the Last Supper and given to Joseph of Arimathea) brought about the dissolution of the knightly fellowship, the death of Arthur, and the destruction of his kingdom.

So,now I thought this was interesting- the destruction part. After all, it’s something I’m expecting about the Shadowhunters. Will the Clave maybe be destroyed? Or maybe Faerie will be destroyed? So,there were three things that brought on this uh Destruction.FIRST, his wife and his best buddy were going behind his back and doing them lovey-dovey stuff. And they all go on some quest to retrieve something important to them. So, this sounds like something plausible to be the plot of TWP. Maybe the Heirloom’s missing? And who goes on the quest though? Maybe they venture through Faerie? BLAH MY HEAD HURTS SOME THINGS ARE BETTER TO BE SURPRISED WITH ;)

-----I kinda scrolled back up while writing about Janus down there and remembered CLARY MIGHT BE TAKEN HOSTAGE LIKE YESS AND THEY GO FIND HER MAYBE?

3)We will defo see Christina, Mark and Kieran at some point- no worries, Emma and Julian too. Happy Couples! XD

4)So,then we can look forward to Dru and Jaime’s interactions. I am absolutely excited for this the most, as a shipper of the two. If you remember, we saw Jaime ignoring her for a while back there at the end of QOAAD and then he says “See ya at the Academy soon ig”. I really do hope they meet and hang out as friends, at least. I am excited to see what kind of trope it’s gonna be tho. Like, do they ignore each other and remain awkward until they start the adventure stuff in the book where they eventually have to talk to each other after years or smth. Or, maybe they’re really good friends rn. But, what I’ll warn y’all shippers is that they might not end up together, and could wind up as brother-sister-ish kind of best buddies. Which is equally cute a relationship imo. It’s a really sweet thing to be, really. I lowkey hope Cassie spins something beautiful for their relationship like a sibling-like best friends kind of thing. But, I feel like they might have feelings for each other in secret. Or maybe they date. Or maybe they suppress their secret-feelings for the sake of friendship later on in the book and end up having that really sweet friendship I was talking about.There are SO many options and that is precisely why I am so freaking excited.

5)JAIME ROCIO ROSALES.       Like, I have this gut feeling that he might end up being my fave male protagonist character in TSC. He’s got it ALL. Like, the sense of humour, the looks, the bubbly yet brooding personality, the quirks and OFC THE FRICKING NAME ITSELF IS CUTE AF LIKE BRUH I CANNOT WAIT TO READ ABOUT HIM.I have so much to say about Jaime but I’d rather we let ourselves simply wait for the crumbs Cassie might give us or maybe reread all his parts in TDA like I do everyday or just wait for the book to come out rather than simp for someone we know nothing about yet....

6)Ash Morgenstern.         He’s a cute lil bean.        That was random and untrue lmao. He’s not a ‘lil bean’. He’s totally badass with dem wings and all, but we know he’s soft inside for Janus and ofc Dru, I believe. I find him the most intriguing character, honestly. I would love to know what goes through his head. He’s actually, like, the one character in TSC that I don’t have all figured out. He gon surprise us all for sure tho. He is awesome. That’s all I have to say for now. And he looks up to Janus which is SO GODDAMN SWEET AHHHH. And THE WINGS I CANNOT WAIT TO READ MORE ABOUT THE WINGS IT SOUNDED SO BADASS ISTG I LITERALLY CANNOT WAIT GOSH DARN IT. But he really do be a cute lil bean lowkey tho.

7)Kit and Ty LOL. I have no words really. But lemme tell you how it might go. There is definitely going to be some kind of reunion. AND THEN THAT’S WHERE IT GETS CUTE. They could either be awkward and we know what tension that gets us-perhaps some whisperings of My Watson...(?  ;) and maybe they go all sad and brooding with dem looks later OR, they could be the sweetie-pies they were before and be happy and all HIII BUDDDYYYY MISSED YAAA LESS GO BE DETECTIVES YAY BURN IT UP MAH BUDDY!! Either way it’s going to be cute af and we know it . TRUST IN CASSIE Y’ALL.I trust Cassie to let this ship sail the seven seas and seven more like it deserves.

8)Ash and Dru So, Ash has a strange lil fixation on Dru and I believe he even thought she was ‘pretty’ or something. It was definitely a good adjective, but I think he said ‘pretty’. idk but we know he likes her. and I can imagine a nice relationship. I can picture them with her hair flying in the wind and they meet for the first time or smth. IHNI WHAT IM SAYING. But, there will be DRAMA. They are going to be real cute with each other YOU CAN BET ON THAT.And, by cute I do not necessarily mean ‘Oh, you have the loveliest eyes’ or some shet like that. I have a feeling it’s going to be a case of ‘Well,that’s not weird or anything YOU WEIRDO - NO U - NO U - NO U’ However this relationship is going to go, I know that it’ll be a sweet one.And, for all you shippers of these two, I have no assurances that HE IS THE ONE or anything but he is definitely a candidate. Jaime is going to be some competition I can tell. So, idk. It depends on the Jaime x Dru ship to decide things for Ash x Dru ship imo, since it might be a no-brainer if the two have feelings for each other- I mean,Jaime is an actually perfect love interest in TSC, while Ash is strong potential Best-Friend material, so it’s ONLY if Jaime and Dru don’t like each other that way that Ash could make it as a love interest. So, if y’all wanna find out what’s in it for you guys, ask Cassie maybe about how the Jaime x Dru ship might go, the next time u wanna ask her ;)

9)Tavvy and maybe the kid Helen and Aline might have had We were getting hints of another baby, so HERE WE GO.Tavvy might have a playmate. :D. YAYYYYYYYYYY

10)Janus  I’m honestly worried about him. He is a worrisome character. I hate empathising with the antagonist, personally. AAAAHHHH . I hope we see some character development in him. I really don’t want to see him as an antagonist in the story. He’s sweet and feels cheated, but he should realise that it ain’t Jace’s fault but SEBASTIAN’S fault. I would like for him to make amends with Jace :( And, also, he might get the story started in TWP tho idk. But, seriously tho, when he went home in that short story and Ash asked, “I thought you were gone forever?” or something of that sort and he shook his head sadly and Ash went soft for him. Like, that fricking broke my heart. I love this relationship tho. And, i hope Clary and him can be good friends. But, I feel like he might end up dying to save her or smth and make us all cry . T_T

She devil part 1

Photo not mine. Honestly, I was just listening to Dying by lil peep and it inspired this so I’m not sure which direction this story will go. I plan to make this a series, it depends on how I feel about this part in a few days. 

Bucky x Reader 

Summary: Y/n was a lone wolf assassin that Bucky found during a mission scoping out a hydra base. Even though Bucky convinced her to join the avengers, she doesn’t get close to the others. She hides her secrets well, and spends her nights getting high. Bucky wants to learn more about her but doesn’t expect it to be so hard even if he is the only one she talks to. 

Warnings: Weed (i refuse to write about hard drugs as I’m highly against them personally), minor depression, canon typical violence but it may include non-canon violence and gore later on, may include smut later on, cursing. This may include things that are triggering to some at some point, please proceed with caution. 

Bucky had found y/n scoping out the same hydra base as him and Steve. When they finally had an attack planned she had taken it upon herself to snipe multiple soldiers from the tree line. After that the two decided she could prove useful especially since she shared the same hate for hydra. She originally wouldn’t give her real name, “She Devil” is all she would give when asked. She was a woman of few words. Very rarely would you hear her say a full sentence unless she was talking to Bucky. 

Y/n laid down in her bed on top of her fluffy black comforter and sighed. She had just got done with some nightly training with Bucky. She refused to do training in the mornings with the others unless mandatory. She was zoned out when a knock to her door snapped her out of it. “Come in.” She said already assuming it was Bucky. The metal armed male walked in and leaned on the doorframe, “You know eventually you’ll have to train with the others and open up right? I’m not pushing, but they’ve been asking if it’ll ever happen.” 

“Maybe, I don’t know.” Was all she said. Bucky chose not to argue or push any harder, “Just something to think about Y/n.” With that he left closing the door behind him. She didn’t waste any time to lock her door and pulled out her dab pen. It was the easiest way to smoke without anyone smelling it. She took a few hits, after a minute the world around her became jaded. She felt happy, like everything from her past was nothing but a thought. She laid back down and let her eyes close. The world was spinning around her as she fell into a soft slumber. 

She knew she should stop doing this, it was the only way she could properly sleep without every noise waking her up. 

The next morning she woke up with a start, the peaceful dream she was having shifted into the vivid memory of her first kill. 

Deep inhale. Slow exhale. The scope of her carbon fiber cheytac m300 aimed onto her target. She didn’t know what he did wrong to get a hit on him in her organization, but she had orders to follow. 

Deep inhale. Slow exhale. Squeeze the trigger. He fell.

She hesitated a second, a child ran up to him. It looked like his daughter, she was bawling and holding him. She felt sick as she swiftly packed up her gun into a guitar case. 

She felt sick at the memory. She found out later that he had threatened to spill the whereabouts of her organization to police. It made her wish she hadn’t killed him, she would not have suffered 6 more years with them. Wiping away tears that had found their way down her face, she went to shower. 

Steve looked up, it was rare others were awake at 6AM like him. By now he was used to Y/n being awake too. He watched as the girl walked into the kitchen to make herself some coffee saying nothing to him but “Good morning.” 

“Good morning Y/n, sleep well?” She nodded pouring her cup. He caught the hesitation though, the split second it took her. The pause she took while pouring the dark liquid. The deep inhale and the raise of her heartbeat. 

He eyed her wondering if he should say something, but quickly decided against it. She would open up in time. “Just a heads up, you, Bucky, and Nat are being sent on a mission today. The debriefing will be at 9 o’clock sharp.” He was taken back when she said more than three words after that. 

“Where to this time Captain? Siberia is too damn cold, please don’t be there.” She surprised herself honestly. When she was around Bucky or Steve she felt welcome, like she could be herself. It was still a work in progress to hold a conversation with Steve, but she was trying. “South Africa this time, so it’ll be hot. I would pack light.” 

The debriefing went by fast, Y/n was nervous she had never been on a mission with Nat. Excitement of seeing THE Black Widow in action coursed through her veins, but she tried to hide it. The trio were in the quinjet, Bucky was in the bathroom when Nat decided to speak up. 

“So why “She Devil”? Iron man is obvious, Captain America was given, and Hawkeye is just fitting. What’s your name story?” Nat looked over at Y/n hoping she would respond. She was trying to trust the sniper more, but there was nothing about her. Her hometown, her parents, everything up until the last year and a half. But she the h/c haired girl had been with for almost a year of that. It was amazing how long she kept to managed to keep herself hidden from the team. 

“It’s a long story.” 

“We have the time, it’s another 6 hours until we land. You can trust me Y/n, truly.” 

Y/n knew better, it was easy to spot an interrogation. She couldn’t and wouldn’t spill her secret unless she had to. Silence. Nat realized she wouldn’t win this and stayed quiet after that. 

 A week later, the group was ready for the attack. It was simple after Y/n scoped the area. Go in through the unused back entrance, take out the target and get the hell out of dodge. At least it was going to be simple. Until Y/n heard a yelp from her red haired companion. She had grown to like the ex-assassin over the past week, even started to talk a bit more. Thats when she saw it, the crimson liquid leaked out of Nat’s side. Bucky wasn’t out of the building yet, and the girls were surrounded. “Bucky Widow was hit and there’s at least ten of them around us.” Y/n said low enough that the hydra agents could not hear it. 

“Can you take them? Keep Nat safe I’ll be out there in about 60 seconds.” They didn’t have that much time. Y/n knew what she would have to do, but it would spill her secret. She would have a lot of explaining to do later. 

Suddenly her e/c orbs turned a dark red. Two black devil horns sprouted out of her head, along with a long devil tail that had a triangle tip at the end from her tailbone. Her canines got sharper and longer. It was a fierce sight to see, but also terrifying to the poor agents who had to deal with her. It was all a blur to Nat, who was sitting leaned up against a wall her hand on her side. 

Y/n pulled out a pistol and with an unnatural speed shot two of the agents. Her tail wrapped around the gun in one mans hands and yanked him to her as she jabbed her dagger into his chest. She quickly took care of the rest, it was effortless for her. The form granted her speed no human could hope to have, and eyesight and hearing similar to a hawk looking for its prey.  

Bucky ran out right when it finished and was about to aim at the she devil. He froze when he recognized her hair. He looked at Nat, she was in and out and losing a lot of blood. He made quick work of picking her up as he and y/n ran to the quinjet. Y/n taking care of any hydra they came across on the way. 

Y/n stayed in her room for the next two days, it took a toll on her body to transform into the She Devil. Not to include she really did NOT want to have the conversation about what happened. She knew it was all caught on footage, she had plugged a usb into a computer at the facility that allowed Tony to go through their footage. Ranging from a few months before to the present. Everyone in the compound had to know about it by now, it was only a matter of time before someone dragged her downstairs about it. 

Those two days she spent high of her rocker, she wanted to feel something other than fear and disgust. She hated what she is, she was born a mutant. She had just taken another hit when a knock sounded through her room. She ignored it at first before Bucky barged straight in. 

“What do you want?” she tried to say to him but it came out kinda jumbled. He put two and two together when he saw the pen. “Are you high right now?” He asked already knowing the answer. Her half lidded eyes and slower responses were enough of an answer, “How’d you know Buckaroo?” 

He stared at her when she said that. Was this her? The real Y/n? He so badly wanted to see more of it, but he didn’t want her to push him away when she sobered up. The last hit she took caused her to relax too much as her horns sprouted again. “I know you don’t want to, but you need to come and talk to us about what the hell scene you made on the mission.” He walked over to her and attempted to grab her hand and make her stand up. She pulled away quickly, “Then what? I get kicked out?” 

That’s what this was about. The reason no one had seen her for two days straight. He sighed, “Look I’ll try to convince Steve to let it wait until tomorrow but you better be sober when I come to get you. Though you at least need to go visit Nat in the med bay today when you sober up. She wants to personally thank you. Oh and I’m taking this you can have it back tomorrow after the meeting.” 

With that he swiftly grabbed the dab pen and left. Leaving behind an upset y/n.

When she finally sobered up later that day she waited until she was sure everyone would be in bed. She finally left her room and went to visit Nat, they had got close during the mission. When she entered the room Nat looked up from her laptop, “Hey She Devil.” 

She was giving y/n a rare smile that no one ever got to see. “Hey Nat, How ya feeling?” 

“Much better than the other day thanks to your quick work of those agents. I’m actually glad in a way that I got shot. I got to see something new about you.” 

“So you don’t hate me?” Y/n had dropped her barriers around Nat. She knew she could trust her now, it was strange for both of them honestly. Y/n rarely opens up around anyone, and Nat barely knew anything about y/n a week ago but already began to trust her. “Of course not, you saved my life that day. I gotta admit, it’s nice to see the real you. I hope one day you’ll fully open up.” 

They talked for almost 2 hours before deciding it was getting late. When y/n woke up the next day, she finally left her room. She slept terrible that night due to Bucky forcing sobriety on her, so when Cap saw how tired she looked he was surprised. Surely she would’ve spent those days locked away sleeping. She didn’t say good morning this time. She didn’t even glance at him while she made her cup of coffee. “Meeting at 10. Be there y/n.” when he got no reply he continued, “It’s nice to see you out of your room again by the way. Mornings are lonely when the quietest person alive isn’t around.” 

That earned a small smile from the girl who stayed staring at her coffee. But it was gone within a split second and replaced with a straight face again. The morning went by slow as y/n dreaded the meeting, already knowing it was about her. She was seated in the living room next to Bucky on the couch when JARVIS alerted them that the meeting was in 5 minutes. “It’ll be ok Y/n/n, all you have to do is explain what happened, and what the She Devil is. There will be questions, but no one will condemn you for any of your answers. We all have red on our ledger, it’s about time you explain some of yours to us.” Bucky reassured her on the way there.

When they arrived, she sat in-between Bucky and Nat. Glancing around the room she saw Tony, Steve, Sam, Wanda, Vision, and Thor. Just then Fury walked into the room and he immediately put his gaze on her. Locking eyes, well eye to eyes, with her. 

“Y/n Y/l/n. It’s been a while. I believe you owe all of us an explanation on what the hell that was on the mission.” He sounded irritated but intrigued at the same time and y/n didn’t know how to feel towards it. Her anxiety spiked high and Bucky grabbed her hand reassuringly under the table, something that did not miss Nat’s attention. Then all eyes were on y/n when she began to speak. 

“I apologize for not saying something sooner about it. I owe all of you an explanation of my past. So here goes nothing.”

when push comes to shove (2019!Aladdin/Trust, 1371 words) It had started with Jafar grabbing fistfuls of Primo’s ass and a mocking comment about how thin his pants were, which somehow had led to Jafar assuming Primo wasn’t wearing anything under the blue trousers. He assumed correctly.

play us an encore (2019!Aladdin/2017!Beauty and the Beast, 2400 words) “Open your robe.” Jafar didn’t move from where he was standing in the bathroom doorway. Dressed in only his silk red robe, he stared back at Adam, who was smiling in a way that Jafar couldn’t read.

break the bubble (2019!Aladdin/2017!Beauty and the Beast/2015!Cinderella, 1092 words) “Love is like a bomb, baby, c’mon get it on…” The lights flashed as three gorgeous men walked onto the stage, lip synching with the loud lyrics of Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me" playing over the speakers. 

Analysis:

First of all, the fact that 11/20 of these are crossovers is pretty telling of what my favorite thing to write is. Most are either Aladdin crossovers or Marvel crossovers (and involve either Jafar or Loki, respectively) so there’s that.

This list goes back about two years, which is interesting because in the past two years I’ve been working on bigger projects most of the time. Notice how most of these fics are under 2k? Most of these started as small fic prompts or 2am spur-of-the-moment ideas and the longer ones are the more self-indulgent fics.

5 of these fics start with a line that’s mostly used to catch a reader’s attention before a tag, which is then followed by a bit of exposition or action. Twice I use song lyrics as a way of grabbing attention because the POV of the character is also having their attention grabbed.

Several times I just jump right into a character’s POV and begin with them thinking about something or essentially telling the reader “what is happening is normal” or “what is happening is not normal” depending on the situation. It’s also sometimes a quick recap or the statement of a fact about our POV character.

Most of the time, I just jump right into the action to get the story moving. I’ve noticed I prefer to do this over giving a description of where we are. If I do give a description, it almost always comes after the opening line. With the exception of Shadows, none of these opening lines are a setting description.

I really do have a thing for crossovers, especially the weird ones LOL I just love the idea of two different worlds connecting in some way and having the characters themselves connect on another level. D*sney’s been crossing over their stuff since well before I was even born, so while it’s not surprising to see a disney crossover fic, I do think there’s something to writing that odd lil ship I’ve written about 7 fics for (dang!)

I tend to deal with themes of forbidden love in various ways and how the characters make those connections despite the fact they shouldn’t be together. Whether it’s as simple as unrequited romance, or they’re enemies, or they’re not necessarily enemies but they really shouldn’t be together... and yet they always find a way. IDK maybe I’m just a romantic at heart who loves seeing love stories about love conquering all. But that being said, the obstacles these characters face aren’t typical ones?? Like, from this list at least, love triangles aren’t something I’m interested in, but if there is a third party (like in Violet Skies) the third party is never really considered to be a “threat” to the main couple. 

That’s probably another reason why I dig crossover ships, because they inherently shouldn’t be together. they’re from vastly different worlds with maybe one or two things in common (like genre or setting or a character detail or just a vibe).

Or I’m just here to have fun and I’m dragging these characters into the fun zone whether they like it or not :P

But really, all of these are love stories in some way or another. Not that I’ve never written gen fic and I love reading gen fic! But I guess my fave fics to write are the shippy stuff. I just enjoy exploring these types of relationships, despite whether or not they “should” be together. Heck, a couple of these do not have happy endings nor should they. It’s really interesting seeing exactly how drawn to that stuff I am.

FAVE OPENING LINE This is kind of a weird thing to say, but I really don’t care a lot of my opening lines most of the time. I think they are what they need to be, but they don’t hit me the way they should? Some of these I kinda wish I could go back and change, though that’s mostly cuz out of all the lines in each of these fics the first lines I’ve read and reread the most. So it’s mostly me being my own worst critic, but I think my best writing comes more in the middle and ends of my fics, not the beginnings. 

That said, I gotta go with Violet Skies: Another day, another suitor. This one was from the far west with flowered silks and bright pastels. Prince Adam from France.

This is one of those opening lines I’d never change. The fic starts off from Jafar’s POV and he is bored of these princes coming and going and starting this big fic off with him being like “here we go again” with this basic description of Adam is exactly where the fic needed to start, so by the time the reader gets to the end of the first chapter, we know this is definitely not “here we go again” with Prince Adam~

looks like this party sure was a cautionary tale ! over the weekend, some were feeling oh-so pretty ( and gay ) while others were falling totally stupid in love… something’s coming, and it’ll have you seeing stars ! eat a cracker and stop by to read the latest scoop on CADY AND MARIA’S PARTY ! if you’re fearless, look beneath the cut for all the drama that happened tonight, tonight…

first off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our lovely ladies, CADY and MARIA ! we heard that the homeschooled jungle freak got w a y too tipsy  and made out with little LES… we wonder what her “ boyfriend “ thought about that… or does he not really care ? perhaps JD still has a bit of VERONICA stuck on his mind. either way, we don’t trust the guy. jd and cady might have made up and locked lips once again… but how long will that last ?

a party also would not be a party if there wasn’t some major “ drama “, right ? let us begin with our big bad shark leader BERNARDO – first a confrontation with his little sister’s lover-to-be ex-jet TONY only to go through yet another break-up with ANITA. quite the eventful night for you, huh, nardo… remind us, how many times have ANITA and BERNARDO broken up by now ? is anyone still keeping count ? and what about PEDRO and THERESA ? seems like our little fairy is throwing tantrums again… getting cozy with PEDRO, kissing JOHN, only to get jealous at PEDRO again… what’s up with that, THERESA ? indecisive much ? no wonder WENDY and her suddenly get along – these two aren’t all that different after all. 

talking about JOHN – one darling boy sure did have a great night, huh ? dancing with THERESA after all, flirting with ALIZ, kissing CHINO… not to shabby for a guy who is locked up behind his desk most of the time. you go, dude ! though ALIZ didn’t only get her flirt on with john: the party-planner slash club-owner did not only strike a business deal with LILY, she seemed to get quite cosy with HERO once again. what is going on there ? and are we the only ones who noticed HERO juggling not only aliz but also MEG ? we knew he was an athlete, but not that he’s a player ( see what we did there ? ).

SU rewatch- S1E8- Serious Steven

It’s this point of this season (both this ep and the last) where the characters, humor, and overall tone of the show first starts to truly mesh, I think, giving us a representative human-focused story and Gem-focused story.

This episode in particular is actually a personal favorite of mine, too- I always love the way the writers/board artists structured it, hinting towards the flashback sequence early on and then later returning to that thread to influence Steven’s outlook and decisions of current events. Starting with an out-of-context glimpse at Steven’s Funland disaster immediately acts as a curiosity hook to the audience and establishes his internal desperation to get this mission right.

Steven, probably: “Welp, I’m grounded!”

But on a more serious note, the context we learn later in the episode about what happened here is a prime example of Steven’s lack of focus on the consequences of his actions. He’s still very young, after all- only twelve. And like most twelve year olds, he’s more concerned with how he can have fun in the present than how his decisions will affect the future. It’s only to be expected.

Pearl: (about his ukulele) “Why did you bring that?” Steven: “I don’t know! I was excited, and it’s mine, and I like it!”

This episode, however, is where this kid makes his first steps towards maturity. Towards thinking before he acts. Towards letting his past inform his present. In my opinion, this is where his coming of age truly begins.  

Initially, just like the teacup incident, Steven seems to have chronic unwise decision disease- he’s far more preoccupied in keeping his belongings safe or running away from bugs, etc etc. He’s distractible, and it’s to the point where Pearl’s genuinely questioning his safety on this mission. After all, this is the first time they’re bringing him on a mission that involved legitimate stakes and danger- the Sea Spire doesn’t count, because they took him there as a test. Garnet advocates for him, though. She probably has been catching faint glimpses of the future, of a Steven who’s more well rounded, more focused- and gets the sense that whatever happens today will lead him towards this.

We gain our first glimpse of the Strawberry Battlefield! One of the most stunning locations in the show. It’s highly suggested that this is the first time they’ve returned to this place since the war.

Pearl: “Unbelievable! This was one a Gem battlefield. Now it’s wild strawberries as far as the eye can see! Oh, that’s what I love about the Earth.”

We’re also treated to our first major dose of Gem history, through the murals inside the inverted pyramid.

Both the new Great Diamond Authority symbol seem on the floor (the three clustered triangles design) and the subject matter of these murals suggest that this pyramid was constructed at some point during the height of the war, just after Pink Diamond was “shattered.” It’s to be assumed this structure was then intended as a death trap for rebel Gems.

These images laud White Diamond as Gemkind’s savior, with hands outreached towards her in celebration and worship. There’s an image of Rose Quartz and her army facing White- perhaps holding out Pink’s gemstone as if taunting her- but White is depicted in the more powerful stance in this mural, attacking in retaliation. Below are small glimpses of the trials our Crystal Gems face later in the episode. None of the little mural people survive in these, a hint of the danger to come

Overall, what we’re seeing here is Homeworld war propaganda.

Steven may not have fallen gracefully, but he’s pretty dang durable for making a belly flop onto solid stone like that and walking away. As many people have pointed out, this sequence is paralleled in Change Your Mind but with Steven lightly floating to the ground, representative of him both growing into his powers and confidence in himself.

I just think this screenshot is hilarious- Pearl’s carrying him under her arm like a dang briefcase! Helicopter mom alert.

Pearl: “But this could be the teacups all over again...” Steven: “Hey! I’ve put that behind me.”

The thing is, he hasn’t. I get the sense that internally, behind all the hammy goofs and his guise of confidence, he’s incredibly, self-consciously aware of the fact that this mission is imperative to his future as a Crystal Gem. It’s redemption for his first screw up, for his mistake at Funland. If he messes this up too, there’s every possibility that the Gems might not let him go on missions for a while longer, and that’s the last thing Steven wants. He looks up to these three so much and he wants to spend time with them, wants to learn more about this part of his heritage, wants to be like them.

A large part of Steven’s coming of age is also rooted in his realization that these missions aren’t just “fun times.”

Steven: “Woo-ho! That was, uh- seriously dangerous.”

Up until now, I don’t think it’s fully hit him exactly how life-and-death Gem missions have the potential of being for him yet. As the others are saying, he legitimately needs to take this more seriously- for his own safety.

Garnet: “But be careful. You might trigger a trap with that gun show.”

Garnet, I love you.

Steven: “Maybe there’s a clue hidden in these ancient drawings.”

SU theorists be like...

No, but actually though- that’s kinda a clever way to blatantly hint to the kiddos watching this show that they should pay attention to what’s carved into the walls. 

Even if this idea kinda backfires for Steven, it was at least a good idea!

Of course Amethyst can sleep on spiny teacup rides. And Pearl, what- what are you even doing. You’re not even- god, Pearl, what did you think this teacup ride was FOR?

Steven: “I think I need to get off this ride now-” (heckin... just... jumps off the teacup while it’s suspended in midair.)

Me internally: “YOU FRICKIN FRICKS! WHEN WILL YOU REALIZE-!! THAT YOUR ACTIONS! HAVE CONSEQUENCES!”

See, his issue here is that he only thinks as far as he can see- how can he solve his current problem? A whole lot of his personal growth is learning how his actions have ramifications, and beginning to recognize what those might be.

Garnet: “It’s okay.” Steven: “No! No, it’s not! You were all right about me. I wanted to do this so bad, but now I feel like I’m gonna throw up. This is just like the teacups!”

Despite his distractibility, one of Steven’s greatest strengths has always been his unique perspective. No Gem would ever notice what’s wrong with this pyramid because no Gem would get motion sick. But since he’s half human he’s able to feel its effects. Subtle but clever.

I can’t believe Pearl Gemsplained Steven.

Steven: Garnet, I need to get off the ride now!”

He’s taking a moment to warn her of what he plans on doing. Which means he’s also spent time considering his action’s possible consequences- for the first time, he’s taking the risk seriously! My little baby’s growin’ up! ;D;

Character profile: Meso

Meso is a small beastformer, somewhere around minibot size, whose alt is a hare. 

In root mode, he’s relatively average build, but slimmer through the torso than most. He has fur down much of his back, and in some areas on his flanks, thighs, shoulders, and a bit over the top of his helm. Cute lil white triangle on his forehelm. And ears! He has long bunny ears that fold up and tuck under the plating on his helm if they need to hide, but mostly he keeps them up and lifted to listen. They have a soft fuzz along the backs, and he twitches his legs real nicely if you scritch behind his ears. He also has long whiskers and wide, round optics. Basically, if one doesn’t mind beastformers, he’s cute as heck. 

His alt mode is a bit chubbier. His legs are fairly long and digitigrade, but slide down over themselves, the thighs telescoping a bit shorter, into alt mode. He walks a bit funky in root mode due to having bunny legs, and is incapable of walking on two legs in alt. Instead, he hops, moving on all fours on servos that transform into paws to protect his fingertips. That fur comes into play here- it’s rooted in thick, tough skin over some of his plating, and breaks up his silhouette a bit. Bots trying to spot another bot in the shadows don’t look for long ears and fur. He’s a bit faceless in alt, too- a visor kinda like a cross between Soundwave’s visor and one of those newer style gas masks folds down over his face, giving him a rabbit-head shape, whiskers peeking out of slits in its sides. He can retract his whiskers and close the slits if he needs to be absolutely as streamlined as possible. 

And he has a tail! A puffball tail made of fiber-optic lights, with lights around his lower haunches. If something tries to chase him, he can activate the lights in a blinding flash, giving him just enough time to dart out one way or the other or down a hole while his pursuer is blinded. All it takes is that one instant, and he can dive away. 

You know that quote from Watership Down? “All the world will be your enemy, Prince of a Thousand enemies. And when they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you; digger, listener, runner, Prince with the swift warning. Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed."

That’s Meso. Smoke bombs, sticky traps, tripwires, but mostly just his speed and that tail-flash trick. And Meso has never, never had someone catch him. He’s been trapped a few times, he’s been cornered, but he has never had a person catch up to and catch him. He’s a bit twitchy about things flying overhead, though. 

And he’s VERY twitchy about being caught. He’s had a couple of people get clever and set snares for him after he caused trouble, and laser-hardlight-reinforced wires will work if you chase him enough to get him going too fast to spot it properly. If he gets a snare around a leg at full speed, he will hit the ground hard, and he will panic. If he knows there’s danger, if he knows someone will be coming to get him, he panics beyond all reason and will hurt himself trying to escape. Little guy’s a spook! He can’t afford to get caught. 

If you spook him, or if he gets excited, he drums his hindlegs hard before running away. If given the chance, he’ll happily do a bit of a hopping dance on top of a steel drum or anything else that makes good noises. 

Most of his job is to scout, and to carry hard-copy messages. Little bit of spying here and there, little bit of opportunistic sabotage. He’s a clever little opportunist who takes advantage of anything and everything he can get ahold of, and is hard to keep ahold of if you somehow manage to obtain him. Lil guy kicks like a horse! And he will bite you if you make him. 

He comes with buck teeth, which keep growing, and he likes to gnaw. He may or may not gnaw at random objects if they happen to be offered. They’re not half bad for sabotage, either. Duck under computer consoles, strip the insulation real quick off a few wires, nudge them together, and run away while they short out. 

If you want him to like you, rub behind his ears, let him perch on you, and give him crunchy treats. If you’re big enough, let him sling a hammock on you. Meso loves him some vantage points, and big bots make great vantage points. 

He’s fairly sweet, but he’s a mischief boi. You can tell when he’s pondering mischief, too. His ears go up high and start quivering, his whiskers perk, and he does the :3c face at everybody. 

(oh, and he hasn’t quite figured it out yet, but he’s got a pretty major kink for being pinned and held still by a partner so they can grind on him. He likes being teased by a partner who’s showing him what he’s about to get)

hi do you think season 6 might be our last season. i know the fandom feels betrayed after how the writers killed fitz while telling us it was to be rewarding.I also feel that since whedons never really give their ships a happy ending, they are again going to split them but I'm still not ready to see AOS go.I really need our fandom to fight for the renewal and can the fandom also let the writers know at the cons that killing fitzsimmons is not ok, because that might secure fitzsimmons life.

If they already knew Season 6 was intended to be the last season it would have been billed as such, a prime example of a show doing this is Gotham.  They are getting a smaller run of episodes to finish their story and end for good.  

We also are not privy to whatever deals were made with the Season 6 renewal or how long until they would wait to even consider Season 7.   TPTB could like what they see and renew even before the show airs.  They could wait until next year after the summer run to decide.  Or for all we know a Season 7 has already been greenlit and will be filmed when they would normally film the back half of a full season (This option is good because it secures the cast).  I bet something is at the very least in place to secure the talent and make sure they can get who they need/want back when the time is right.  

Disney’s streaming service is set to launch in Fall of 2019.  I would not be at all surprised to see AOS move there or to have a spin-off or two head there after Season 6.  

For someone who does theories and predictions, last season was the season of “Doing the things I said they would never do.”  They had Fitz suffer a split to set up the team fracture and then didn’t properly address his trauma or resolve the relationships (Mack and Daisy especially).  They killed (a version) of Fitz because they had a loophole that would allow them too (they said they would have never done it without the loophole).  And they separated Fitzsimmons…again.  When by their own admission had been done too many times and the writers didn’t think they could pull it off again. 

And while I HATE that they have separated Fitzsimmons again, I’ve made no secret of that, I would have been better with it had I not known that could have been the end.  Looking at the finale as a SEASON and not series finale it made for one heck of a cliffhanger.  I could have dealt with that much better and it’s helping me deal with it now.

In my mind, Fitz is missing and when they find him it will be like he’s come out of the Framework, only this time has no memories of the life he lived there.  It doesn’t change the things that happened or that they were real, good and bad, but he won’t remember it.  How the writers deal with it can either be really cool…or really frustrating.

I also know this fandom, had they not addressed Cryo Fitz he would have become the new Gravitonium.  The thing that the fandom would constantly be asking about.  While the theory side of me would be constantly worried when they would drop that shoe.  Because believe me there are a lot more painful ways they could have taken care of that plot point.

None of that changes the sadness, betrayal, and frustration that many in the Fitzsimmons fandom are still feeling.  I know my faith and trust in the writers has been shattered.  I fought for them and I stood up for them very publicly, encouraged the fandom to have faith in them, to trust them and then they did what I swore they would never do.  Part of me always thought that no matter what they put Fitzsimmons through they’d get that happy ending in the very end.  And then the finale aired and that was very much not the case.  

They have the story they want to tell and sadly this season went with a lot of shock value plot twists.  There is a fine line when it comes to these things between fun and frustrating.  And many fans are to the point where it’s only frustrating and while they love Fitzsimmons they are just tired.  And you know what, I can’t blame them.  I watch this show as an escape and Fitzsimmons are characters I identify with, and I hate to see the crap keep happening to them.  

And it’s tricky to send feedback into the writers.  No one wants to get attacked saying their work is bad.  Nor are the writers like our amazing fic writers that accept prompts and give us 5K of Scottage Fluff.  

They are very well aware of how much Fitzsimmons means to their fans.  That is honestly partly why they are part of such major moments and twists good and bad.  

Fitz has always been one of their if not their favorite fake-out red herring character and in the finale, this went to the extreme his death the fake out to hide Coulson’s and they were going to find Fitz.  I have been at cons (I was in the room when they screened What If and heard the collective screams of horror with the Ophelia twist at the end) and seen interviews where these questions come up.  

They know they can’t do the break them up only to have them get back together trope.  They had to go to extreme lengths to do a love triangle trope…for both of them.   And its because those aren’t options that they go for the physical separations instead.

Both in feedback and in posts on Social Media emphasize WHY you love Fitzsimmons so much.  WHY you watch the show.

I’m not ready to let the show go either.  I’m not ready to let go of them or the fandom here.  I still have fun doing the asks, getting insanely excited about promo pics and news, or having a theory hit.  I’m looking forward to Fitzsimmons being reunited.  And I hope the writers paid attention to the feedback they got so far.   I will keep fighting for Season 7 and beyond.

s9 filming spoilers and speculations..... TWD RANTS

Timejump-capital /twd parade pics and Caryl-the skybound thing, & other-richonne. (this post is meh and confusing)

k so writing this long weird speculation and thoughts-post. I wanna like move on from the show. Like as usual it’s on hiatus ykno? But the s8 finale messed me up so much. And I wonder a lot about Carol and the ships. Unanswered questions. I guess I’m saying I’m gonna rant a lot...or I go big in this post. 

Now we’re getting filming spoilers. bits and pieces but s9 premiere is a big deal like because of the time jump. The time jump changes the story a lot right? So... just from spoilery things, I realized, it’s hitting me a lot that it’s so 50/50 on me for if I still like the show or not (with timejump, ships, different showrunner/writings, and who knows how TWD ends). 

I really don’t like how 50/50 that is. So shock value way? Anyways, this hiatus I guess is gonna be a really big roller coaster ride. :\ I feel more doubtful than hopeful about s9. ....I just want Carol to be in character (the way i see it) and I want Carol (anyone) to interact with team family more. Idk if I can trust the writers during the hiatus with some bits of spoilers because some arcs start off frustrating and end well. It’s like I also have to wait till they film the finale to know if I wanna watch s9. or it’s like I wait till s10 for an arc to end. Idk I’m bummed that it’s at that point for me to decide to quit or not. sigh stories.

Yeah so this reminds me of s8, where the biggest change to the show happened with Carl’s death for me and the fandom. So I(and like most people too apparently...show is still going) keep watching TWD because Carl’s death doesn’t bother me that much, I feel the writing is still fine, and I see it as Rick’s show. So ..idk what im saying. I just think if they screw up Carol’s character and her interactions, then I feel it’s pointless to keep watching the show. I want charactery bonds, interesting arcs, and parallels. I know TWD can still be fine, but s8′s bad finale ep made me doubtful on the writing (or editing...there were good deleted scenes in s8 finale). 

Time jump

Wow those pics of the cast at the capital and on horses. “twd parade” The pics also tells a lot or so what 9x01 will be like/time jump. It’s overwhelming. It got me excited and then I worry the show will suck and mess up my faves.

The time jump in 9x01 looked like not like Carl’s dream/5 years(?) where Rick had a cane, white hair, 6 yo Judy, and Negan gardening with TF. This time jump in s9 so far looked like one year went by. Also looked like the characters got one thing changed on them. Rick-short hair, Carol-hat, Jesus-manbun, etc.so it’s like it’s not that much of a time jump.

Oh man, I can’t help it but I want to compare TWD and The 100. (They’re different ofc, one’s pace is fast and more violent/survival-like. It’s also like it’s ok to watch more than one show even tho one is better or whatever. It’s frustrating tho T100 have way more interactions/girl power.) Both current survival-shows. Right now, The 100 just had a six year time jump(I think) and TWD in s9 there will be a time jump too. So The 100′s current season, I really liked how they did set up the time jump and informing us how the characters are doing and see the changes in them and their looks. Even their previous season, there was a good understanding foreshadowing to the time jump plot. ...TWD didn’t, I mean Idk why, it’s like easy writing they should’ve done..to keep fans interested to what’s next on the show. I noticed in The 100, is that there were flashbacks and bottled/centered episodes. It’s also quick but partly because The 100 have a short season too and the writers want to focus on the upcoming different plot.

Anyways, so now that I think it’s been like a year later in TWD story. My theories are like everywhere and changed. I’m also like being an annoying comic fan..wants to be exact way but it’s a show and they can remix stuff. Whatever, we all want good stories! It’s kinda following the comics like usual. ok. Time jump and whisperers are coming. Idk why, I’m really excited for ‘old man Rick’ hair cut and horses, when I’m like wtf Rick’s curls tho. lol  Also just..9 seasons...and do I still like the show and will I like what’s next based on comics? (I actually figured AOW in s7-8 would be boring or come off different in the show. It’s all battle scenes and comics goes quicker..Idk I figured it would be boring but I think the war story on show and comics did alright. It wasn’t like a boring action movie that I see most of the time with action movies :P So I think this arc in s9 people will like this. More charactery stuff, well based from the comics. But we don’t have Carl and Maggie(for certain)?... Yeah usual tv flaws.)

So, I think it’s just one year later and that’s it. Also, I don’t mind seeing flashbacks and bottle episodes, as long it’s done well and entertaining. I think in s9 bottle episodes are needed.

So since I think it’s one year later, then we probably get the same Judith girl in s8, as 3 yo?, Hershel Jr as -months old, and I don’t think there will be a Richonne-baby...unless Michonne got pregnant right after the war and Hershel Jr and Richonne-baby are about the same age. 

Skybound mailbag/Caryl/ E&Z

I read some speculations and from C/E shippers, just to get more info on Carol. (I gotta stop that. I’ll know about Carol when I do and they’re really anti-Caryl. It’s annoying. ugh ship wars.) I realized from the spoilery pics and speculations, I just don’t want Carol with anyone or C/E in s9/s9A. I just want to know what’s up with Carol again. Unless Carol being with E is a very minor thing. Like in The 100 show where two times fans suddenly learn Bellamy has a gf. There was a time jump and the relationship’s build up and being canon was all offscreen. The relationship didn’t last or some other thing important was gonna happen. I just want to know what’s Carol’s thinking and feeling. Idk I just feel if C/E happens,I just feel like Idk Carol anymore. :\ Idk what Caryl is anymore. They’re best friends (crushes) right...and still is? I really don’t like in s8 finale where Carol didn’t talk to any TF member/Daryl about why she wants to stay at Kingdom. Just any moment to see TF knows too. Also, Idk if Daryl is staying at ASZ or Hilltop and does Rick knows Daryl doesn’t agree with his decision on Negan.

‘If C/E happens like a - a surprise ship in s9. I find it bad writing because they didn't set it up in s8 or should add more romantic tone in it and obviously put a C/E moment in the finale. But they didn't. So..bad writing. Or just idk maybe it's for plot reasons (E’s death). Maybe there will be a love triangle? It makes Carol out of character or strange for me. Who/What does Carol care about and why? Idk.

 It’s also something that TWD has to do too...from s8 finale and time jump/season premiere it means s9 premier ep gotta be a very well written episode to explain to everything and well reasons. But man...the s8 finale was so wacky and frustrating. It made me lose hope on the writers. I did like s8B but wow finale wtf. And finale is important ep of the seasons..and also it was before the big time jump. sigh. //It reminds me something, it’s kind of TWD’s style or Gimple’s, that premieres are more important than finales. So I hope s9 premiere is good. So yeah if Caryl is just gonna be friends and also just gonna like nod at each other like they don't have that special (continuity) bond anymore. Then that show is over for me. It's also not Caryl’s connections too, I miss Carol’s connections with Team family so much! OMG just looking at Carol and Rick edits, I just sigh.. I know some don't like their relationship. But I like theirs and they got that history, interesting dynamic. I don't wanna see Carol and Rick like they're just acquaintances now. (um like remember their history and trying to save Sophia. etc.) I want Carol or anyone to interact and be team family. The show gotta focus on their main characters and interact them. Too many side characters...too many separations.’

Once I thought about this idea, I’m like gaaah I really hope TWD does this. I really want and hope Rick have these moments to remember Carl by and to do it every season. I really like this idea I have where Rick could write a letter to Carl or talk to Carl’s grave in every season premier/finale. It’s something that merge the old TWD and the new TWD story...even though it’s Rick’s show, it’s still a father and son show.

Richonne!

I have some speculations and thoughts. I just wanna say that I hope Richonne in s9 is more interesting than comic R&A in the comics in the point of the story. Just be like on the show, power couple and all. I really like how in s8 finale, they were like co-leaders. Together. Idk I’m curious how Richonne will go in s9 and on. It’s seems real different than in the comics/R&A are doing. 

So, in the comics, Andrea was like focusing on protecting Carl and co-leading etc. and then she dies at the end of Whisperer war. I find her death and end of her journey boring and disappointing. So Idk, I hope Michonne’s journey is interesting and I have no clue how this comic-Michonne and/or Andrea remix thing works out since Carol is using comic-Michonne’s too. %) Anyways, so I don’t think Michonne will die like comic-Andrea because tv-Carl got the death. After the Andrea’s death, Rick bonded and grieved with Mikey (Carl’s friend) while Carl is at Hilltop adulting. From the comics, I felt like Kirkman wished he had Rick and Andrea to have a child together but he didn’t so he got Mikey more into the story and w/Rick. So I’m like maybe we will get a Richonne-baby? But, then I also thought maybe Judith is like comic-Mikey. Grimes 2.0 grieving and missing Carl. So yeah.. I’m suspecting Richonne won’t have child together or at least in s9. From the twd parade pics, Idk, I don’t think there will be a baby. I really hope they do someday though.

 Another thing is, I really want Judith to call Michonne “Mom” and Rick to point out to people that Michonne is his wife.

Grace, Jonah, Maya, Zig, and Tiny is a really logical friend group. Like you have the band the rubber room kids with a huge overlap in the venn diagram so it all sorta works out and it doesn’t seem like Jonah is there just for being Grace’s boyfriend. Like he seems to actually be friends with everyone and it’s nice

so, as promised, i’m continuing to post every file that i have of lucas looking at riley because apparently you guys all want to suffer and i want to suffer right along side you !!! it’s been like three weeks but i kind of forgot that this one was in my drafts but i hope that you all enjoy it!!!!! this post covers the rest of s2 (cory & topanga - legacy) and then the next (and last) post will be covering s3. so enjoy this one fam!!!!!!!! it’s painful but it’s worth it i promise!!!!! 

here’s part one. 

alright fam let’s kick this one off with lucas’ iconic eyebrow raise to riley in cory & topanga, there is no reason for him to be lowkey flirting with her in the middle of class and yet..here we are 

when riley gets a text from her bully, lucas looks so concerned like he doesn’t even know what’s happening yet and he’s concerned 

“someone gets hurt” now i don’t know exactly why lucas looked right at riley when he said this but needless to say it’s got me fucked up

72 HOURS OF “RESTAURANT WEEK CHICAGO” LATER I’M A NEW WOMAN...

Because when you have very little funds after traveling for five days and have food poisoning that just won’t even let you eat crackers, you should go out for 3 really nice multi-course meals. Logically. It all makes sense. 

Restaurant Week in Chicago is like a frenzied Olympics of the mind, stomach, and Instagram (especially when you’re a food blogger) because the goal is to eat at as many places as possible, and you want all those places to be new and exciting so you can write fresh takes on fresh foods for the followers. And to show other bloggers, “I am relevant and cool.” So I did JUST THAT and even though one of the three places I tried a Restaurant Week menu is a long-time favorite, I strayed from my usual choices to expand my taste bud horizon. If you know me, this is rare, because once I find my favorite menu item at a repeat location it’s probably never going to change unless I experience a horrific interaction with it (aka &Pizza in D.C. a couple weeks ago, RIP to the mushroom-truffle pizza sauce that was my #1 Saturday night and then caused me to sleep in the bathtub so I could vomit freely Sunday night. Why do I tell you this? Because years from now I’d love to read this and laugh, even though now I still just gag at the remembrance of it. Oh, &Pizza... the shortest love affair ever had). 

ANYWAY, since I am one to not back down from a challenge of the food variety, the first Friday of Restaurant Week I was lucky enough to be taken out for dinner at Fleming’s Steakhouse in River North, and then had a lovely early dinner Saturday night at Ema, also in River North, and ended the weekend at Siena Tavern... in River North. There’s a theme here- it’s almost like there’s a section of the city that houses some realllyyyyyy good restaurants... hmmm. I’m going to walk you guys through the menus and what was had by all, and hopefully since Feb. 8 was the last date to try out the pre-fixe menus you can store these places in your brain until next year! It’s always fun to treat this week like a reason to go out and get a little bourgeois, because most of the places on the Restaurant Week Chicago list are a killer steal for the $44 set price. 

Here we GO:  

1. FLEMING’S STEAKHOUSE 

Fleming’s was a choice that shook a lot of people because they follow up, “Wow that sounds so nice!” with “But what does a vegetarian eat at a steakhouse?”

Well, I’m a girl who tends to eat my weight in sushi multiple times a week, and I will never turn away from a big plank of salmon dripping in sauce, which is exactly what came my way course #2... and oh my god, that salmon was so good that I almost didn’t feel guilty it wasn’t still swimming in a creek somewhere. (Whatever, a bear probably would have gotten it before me anyway). 

Fleming’s is a somewhat modernized steakhouse off Ohio Street that has an incredible wine bar on the first floor, worth sitting in for a pre-dinner drink for SURE, and their upstairs is a plush, warm environment that gives you steakhouse vibes while still being slightly intimate and even “cozy”. It might have been the entire bottle of red wine we drank but I recall the room being all orange, red, and gold colors so you’re for sure not sitting in some dark cave ripping into a steak (which is how some of the suburban ones can feel- Morton’s in Northbrook is literally a dimly lit daddy cavern). Our waiter couldn’t have been nicer, even when we quizzed him on his age because he looked like a rather tall fifteen year old to be handling wine (he was 25 and engaged- wow), and he made sure our meal was entirely to our liking. The meal was as follows:

Course One: Bread + various butters, all delicious. Then, a lobster bisque that was super creamy, rich in color, garnished with herbs and crème fraîche, and worth every single calorie since it was clearly made with an entire cow’s worth of cream. Not to mention a whoooole lot of butter, however when you’re committing to a bisque, you want it to be so heavy that United makes it pay for it’s luggage, and this bisque did not disappoint. 

Course Two: A whole salmon smoked + grilled perfectly, giving it a robust woody flavor but then slathered in a BBQ sauce that had just the right amount of molasses in it to make it sweet, savory, and even a tad salty. This slab of salmon was the first real plate of food I’d had in what felt like years, and WOW did my body need that iron. I asked for it well-done to give it that meaty texture and they made it the most perfect, succulent salmon ever, however most steakhouses blow my mind with how they can make a wiggly fish into a 5-star meal. My now-boyfriend (Fleming’s was a pivotal turning point for us) got the steak and entered a new dimension upon eating it, so for all you carnivores try the steak because it looked + smelled beyond awesome. Can’t give you more details on the taste tho! 

Course Three: A couple of sides that can’t really be counted as a separate course, but given how long it took me to enjoy the mashed potatoes it turned into a 20-minute flavor endeavor. We got the Fleming’s potatoes that have jalapeños stirred in- delicious - and then the good ole mashed potatoes that I knew would absolutely kill and THEY DID. A pound of butter, some salt, and the red potato skins mashed in there for texture... job well done. They deserved every single minute spent on them, which were a lot of minutes, because I was so full but my love of mashed potatoes meant leaving a little behind as possible. 

Course Four: DESSERT! Because it’s stupid to have two of the same thing on any table, I got the carrot cake and he got the cheesecake, and then I proceeded to eat two bites of the carrot cake and then eat most of the cheesecake since that was easily the star of the show. Everything was delicious though so there was no wrongdoing!!! Fleming’s is worth it even not during Restaurant Week, so go check it out if you want to have a fancy lil night out. 

2. EMA

So Ema is somewhere very familiar but I’m never sick of, given the atmosphere is literally perfect and the food is insanely flavorful and fresh for its price! It’s normal to start the meal with a spread or dip anyway, so getting to pick two for the first course for Restaurant Week?? I was sold on heading back there for a girl’s-night dinner to see if anything new peaked my interest. 

Course One: Anything with their fresh, hot house pita bread that has olive oil, salt, and rosemary sprinkled on top is a friend of mine so I got the spicy hummus and the charred eggplant spread as my two appetizers... AND WAS SHOOK. Usually I’m a hummus girl but sometimes it can taste a little too much like nuts (due to the chickpeas) and that evening, the hummus was sooo overshadowed by the charred eggplant. I’d never had that before and since eggplant can be slimy, I was nervous, but near the end I even started eating the eggplant with a spoon since the bread was gone and I couldn’t fathom wasting the flavor. GET THE CHARRED EGGPLANT SPREAD. It’s so smooth and has a lemony punch that plays with the savory nature of “char” flavor very well. 

Course Two: Risotto! They had a butternut squash risotto on the Restaurant Week menu which I’d somehow never noticed on their usual menu, and my #1 choice for dinner at Ema is always the octopus because it’s a huge serving and comes with even more delicious sauces. However, on a wintery afternoon, butternut squash risotto with parm and crispy sage seemed much more appropriate. Then- the flavor punch NO ONE SAW COMING- SQUASH VINAIGRETTE DRIZZLED ON TOP. It all played together beautifully and had the rich, oatmeal-like texture of risotto but with a light kiss of balsamic and then the punch of sage that is so unexpectedly important. This dish felt like a blind date that ends up being your life partner... yup. 

Course Three:  DESSERT AGAIN!

I got the small chocolate cake that was a thick dark-chocolate gnache with a very smooth vanilla whipped-cream dollop on top, and it had chunks of freshly-ground sea salt sprinkled on the plate so if you got the perfect bite it would be like jumping into the ocean on a hot day. Refreshing, insanely pleasing, and then that flicker of salt on your tongue. This dessert did a lot for me and was only the size of a granola bar, so it wasn’t overly indulgent.

3. SIENNA TAVERN 

Oh Sienna Tavern, how I adore you. After going once freshman year for an over-the-top date with a friend to avoid the bars, I really got hooked on the intimate restaurant experience this place gives you. It’s low lighting, plush leather and dark wood accents, and upscale Italian-inspired food- what more can you want??? On Super Bowl Sunday this is where my sister wanted to celebrate her 18th birthday so away we went, enjoying the empty highways and empty restaurant since everyone was watching the Patriots get their ass handed to them, and my final Restaurant Week menu commenced. 

Course One: Since main courses at Sienna Tavern are delicious pizzas and pastas that you don’t want to miss out on, starter was a kale caesar salad that had truffle mixed into the dressing and made kale not taste so much like dirt. I loved this salad and the portion was huge, so everyone could take a little and it was ideal for sharing since the dressing was decadent. Eating kale makes you feel healthier too, so when the pasta laden with pasta came to the table we all felt slim + like we could bear to splurge. 

Course Two: BUTTERNUT SQUASH PANSOTI! It’s like triangle ravioli! To be fair this wasn’t on the Restaurant Week menu, but my sister got a pizza selection off it and I ordered this pasta so it all worked out. This pansoti is astounding: the al-dente pasta alone is at least 1/2 centimeter thick, which makes it a voluminous shape when also filled with sweet butternut squash paste, and then five of them are plated and covered in a heavy brown-sugar-butter “Alfredo” of sorts that you just want to coat your whole body in. And the black cracked pepper on top? Beautiful. It is easily the most filling, indulgent dinner on the menu and you can fight me on this, but it’s worth being uncomfortably full after finishing it. 

Course Three: DESSERT FOR THE THIRD NIGHT IN A ROW! We HAD to get their house favorite, the bombolini donut holes that you get to FILL WITH FILLINGS YOURSELF. These fat, meaty potato-based donuts are deep fried and coated in sugar, and then come in a little paper bag with caramel, chocolate, and raspberry syrups to infuse with. The raspberry is easily the most delicious since it’s a crisp, fruity finish to an otherwise dense meal, and the crunch of sugar makes the citrus in the syrup pop. OOOO SO GOOD. 

Sienna Tavern, you can do no wrong. 

So there you all go! I ate so much fucking food in one weekend that I genuinely don’t know how I made it to the gym without passing out the following Monday, and I want to thank each and every one of you who helped me accomplish this horrifying feat! To my boyfriend, thank you for one of the best meals + company to enjoy it with, to Luzi, I’m always thrilled to spend the evening with you and your beauty, and to my family, thank you for teaching me to love food and a good dining experience from my childhood through right now.
