Look at those colors! I love fall, my favorite time of the year with winter on its heels.

I’ll be prepping my patio for the upcoming winter soon. I’ve already removed the cushions. The least fun part will be the ceremony of the leaves aka raking the leaves. I know that this piece of information is something you will cherish - you’re welcome.

Another fun fact. There’s a dim sum place within walking distance from my daughter’s place. I’m not sure if this is a good thing. I came home with pork dumplings, shrimp shumai, baked char sui bao, baked egg custard bao, and lo mai gai, which is lotus wrapped sticky rice =:p

I asked my daughter if she was good with having roast pork instead of a ham or turkey for Thanksgiving. Her answer: “Hell yeah!”

I don’t know what I was thinking when I scheduled my annual holiday party the weekend after Thanksgiving. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I have 12 people showing up. I must admit, though, I’m a little bit excited about the party. Last year we decorated Christmas cookies. This year, we’re going to paint rocks. I did this a few years back and it was a hit. At last years holiday party, Cuzzy requested that I do a rock painting party for my next holiday party, so here we are :)

I went with my kid to her oncologist appointment. I really like her oncologist. She’s young, motivated, driven, and super smart. Add her kind and compassionate spirit to the mix, and she’s quite amazing. The kid admires her and is grateful that she’s her doctor. The kid’s treatment will consist of regular check-ups and digital monitoring for 2-3 years. She’s healing well and has been released to return to work.

The kid was strong man for Halloween. I love this.

I have a plan for Red Cup Day. Getting up at the butt crack of dawn. They run out fast.

I just watched a cheesy movie on Netflix. Blade of the 47 Ronin. Thank goodness my tolerance for cheesy movies is relatively high today.

Some quick life-updates from yours truly:

Realized I was, in fact, nonbinary. Being honest with myself and being away from the internet really helped me figure that one out. I'm still largely in the closet, but I'm planning on where I go from here. I know I'm going to get top surgery or at least a reduction eventually, but that's a Future Leigh thing.

I developed a shellfish allergy which is a thing that can happen. Your body can just... decide it's allergic to shit. I know it's an immune system overreaction but wtf wtf wtf we've eaten shrimp and clams and crab our whole life wtf wtf wtf There's the slight possibility it was a spice or the ramen I was eating them with but like. It's more than likely the fucking shellfish.

I'm currently outside of the US right now and FAR away from home. I'm not immigrating, I'm just helping a friend with some housework and also getting my first vacay in like a decade. Also I dealt with quite a bit of ableism and assumed misogyny (bc still in closet) with immigration to the point they had to bring two different women officers to deal with my sitch. Like I don't wanna spread the stereotype of men being insensitive and women being "more compassionate" or w/e but yikes. I'm struggling so hard right now not to let that asshole taint all men. I'm beating that sexism back with a fucking bat.

My cynophobia is in severe decline, at least with smaller and some medium sized dogs! Anything bigger than like a corgi still triggers me (shaking, crying, panicking, etc.) but smaller dogs are so fucking cute and fun and snuggly!!! I love when they curl up in your lap and when they roll over for tummy rubs!!! I really miss my mom's dogs right now 😭 but I have a cat here so it's kind of ok

Had some True Crime shit happen to my family. My aunt (who's always been in poor health) passed away in her sleep. Her husband had her cremated asap, threw out all of her stuff, repainted the room she slept in, and then waited a week to tell the rest of the family... by text. Originally it looked like she had died in her sleep while he was at work, but then he admitted to his daughter (who then told the fam) that he had been home all day, that he lied to police about being at work, and that he was glad she was dead. So it's looking more and more like he killed her, or at least let her die. Like... he's always been an asshole. It's totally believable he killed her, but I hope (for everyone's sake) that he didn't and he's just being a selfish jackass who doesn't understand how sus he sounds.

My mental health has been the best it's been in years. I still have bad days (esp right now bc of the shit that happened with the border officer) but I'm kind of in awe that I'm like. Alive? Like I'm entering my late twenties. My first suicide attempt was when I was 11. I never imagined I would make it past 21. Bitch I'm still here!!! Life is not my problem, I am LIFE'S problem!

I learned how to make stroganoff and became mildly addicted to it for like a month.

Lived to see cicadas in the summer! Saw SO many!!! I think about them when winter makes me sad. They're my light at the end of the tunnel.

I ALSO SAW A BABY (ok more like a young) POSSUM!!! My dad discovered him in a box of apples we had outside. He was havin a FEAST lemme tell you. Boy went through like four apples that were about half his body size. Hell yeah.

I've currently been trying to exercise and strength train because I tried to climb a tree to get a cicada shell and yeah. I didn't even make it off the ground. Spaghetti ass arms. Right now I'm too sore from the travel (& stress & panic attack due to border issue) to see if my strength has improved, but I can definitely tell there are muscles in my arms and not just mush. Human bodies are so fucking weird and cool and shit.

I still remain uneducated and unemployed, but I actually checked out the GED study guide from the library earlier last year. I had a panic attack and ended up returning it, but... it's progress! A few years ago, I would've just passed it by. I actually opened it and looked in it and shit! Give me some more time and I'll actually be able to USE it and then get my GED and then bitche!!!! :D I've also decided I'm going to try to become a mortician. I doubt I have the patience to become a medical examiner, but I'd still like to work with the dead (not in a creepy way, I'm just better with dead folks) AND I got some family in the business back home (here's hoping I can use nepotism to my advantage teehee) so it's a good idea. I'm not saying it'll work out, but it's a plan.

I beat Pokemon Diamond again, and Skyrim. I made like four new characters but only ended up completing one (and they became a sneak archer because of course.)

I've done a little more sewing! I'm still kinda sucky at it and my brain can not figure out how the hell a back stitch works but I'm having a lot of fun!

Ok that's all I can think of right now but yeah. I'm surprised I haven't completely lost my mind yet but hey. There's still time 😌

I'll hopefully be more active on here in the upcoming days (bc I've missed my sweet little garbage trash site and all my gay little mutuals), but right now I'm just trying to exist in as little pain as I can. Very fatigued but also incredibly sore (shoulders, back, and legs).

I’m once again going to talk about the most insane Disney Channel Original Movie franchise

Hello, and welcome to me screaming about the latest movie in the most bizarre Disney Channel Original Movie franchise ever created, ZOMBIES 3. I’m a grown adult woman, and yet I can’t stop myself from going feral every time they announce a new one of these movies. Every time I think the last one was a fever dream, they make a new one that’s even more colorful and 10x crazier. 

Here are my thoughts with absolutely zero context:

Zed wants to be the first zombie to go to college when his best friend is a literal genius who works for a tech company who any real college would be begging to accept...what the fuck is this movie?

Not only is their school football team pro monsters, but they’re also co-ed!

I’m calling it now, the town’s “most precious thing” is going to be Addison.

DON’T MAKE THE WEREWOLF GUY LIKE ELIZA, SHE’S CLEARLY A LESBIAN! 

We got 10 minutes into the movie before getting a song??! 

THIS MOVIE THAT RELIES ON SO MANY CHARACTERS WEARING WIGS HAS ABSOLUTELY NO BUDGET FOR GOOD WIGS!

I love that no adult in any DCOM knows how to act.

Is one of the aliens non-binary?

Is the alien mothership voiced by RuPaul?

EJ FROM HSMTMTS IS IN THIS MOVIE!? AND HE’S BASICALLY THE SAME CHARACTER?! And Meg Donnelly is going to be in the new season that airs on the 27th...this is begging for a crossover or a meta joke. Something, I’m begging you people!

Okay for real though, No Doubt About It is a bop.

There is a rival school whose mascot is an Eel named Eely and they have a...friendship...rivalry...romance(?) with the Seabrook shrimp?!

Love that they imply that a teenage boy, (Jacey?), has had multiple nose jobs. Also the Aceys are definitely in a polyamorous relationship. 

They named the frozen yogurt place “Coach’s Froyo” 😆😆😆

I see we’re continuing the tradition of Addison punching Zed in the face whenever he surprises her.

I appreciate that we’re not dicking around and drawing out the realization that Addison is part alien. We all knew she was going to be after the second movie’s teaser.

I love that we get a song about aliens invading and a song about interviewing for college in the same movie.

We’ve gotten about 70% less Bucky, and Idk how to feel about that. Also his choice in hats has convinced me that he would be the ideal boyfriend for Ryan from High School Musical.

Why do the judges for this high school cheer off seem so awkwardly horny? Also do they know the aliens are actual aliens...or do they just think that’s their team name? I’m assuming they know...in which case, they seem pretty chill about it.

How does Seabrook afford to have different cheerleading outfits for every competition?

Does this movie have a different choreographer? The cheerleading sequences have so much less energy than the first movie’s. I know the song Addison’s singing has a slower tempo...but the moves are so bland. I guess this is what happens when Bucky isn’t the team captain.

If y’all thought Addison’s white hair wig was bad...get ready for her BLUE HAIR WIG.

Oh wow, Addison is the town’s “most precious thing” who would have guessed?

Addison’s dad is so chill with his wife and daughter being descended from aliens XD These adults went from being extremely racist/species-ist to just shrugging and accepting an alien invasion.

The werewolves in this movie can barely enunciate while wearing their fangs!

I literally don’t care about any of this alien finding utopia bullshit, I just want to see Zed and Addison in college together.

It’s not a ZOMBIES movie without a reprise of Someday.

Addison’s best friend sings literally one solo line in this movie and it’s enough to make me want a whole musical with her as the star. 

Seabrook must exist in a vacuum because these aliens would be real disappointed to find out that Earth sucks as much as it does. 

Werewolf leader and non-binary alien are going to be a thing!? I’m here for it!

Omg Zed and Addison singing the last song around the lightbulbs as a callback to the first movie 😭

I don’t know whether to be happy at the expectation subversion of getting aliens in this town before vampires...or sad that I don’t get to see this universe’s take on vampires.

The message of this movie is that conflict doesn’t have to be bad. Love perseveres, conflict can make us stronger if we come together to face our problems. This makes sense in a vague, idealistic way, but the conflict that the town was facing originally was essentially racism. So...I feel like they might want to rethink that one a little bit. 

I also want to appreciate how non-binary alien’s (I should really remember their name by now) “feelings” for Zed were purely used for comedy and no real drama comes from this. Addison and Zed are a supportive power couple and have literally no conflict with each other throughout the entire movie, even when Addison believes she has to leave him behind.

Overall, the songs are better than the second one’s but still not as good as the first’s. And I wish we’d give up on these movies having a plot and focus on this crazy cheerleading obsessed town again. 

Anyway, I want a million more of these movies. But this one went straight to Disney+ so my fever dream might end here...

Just a little character description of a Batfam OC I’ve been working on, nothing to see here.

Power: Phoenix/hand to hand

Occupation: vigilante/adopted daughter of Bruce Wayne

Appearance(physical): short dark brown hair (kinda mullet style but diff yk?) dark forest green eyes. MUSCLE FUCKING MOMMY BRO 😍😍🥵🥵🥵 basically super buff hot woman, has a septum 🥵. She has got a burn scar covering quite a bit of her right eye because of the extensive “phoenix” training she endured, along with a good sized burn scar spanning across her upper back slightly in the shape of wings from her past. When she becomes Phoenix she does actually grow wings but they are literally made of fire, they are no longer flesh/bone because of a certain someone (👀) she also gets horns to match her fae heritage, she got to keep those 🙄.

Appearance(behavior): River as a civilian or in this case one of Bruce Wayne’s adoptive children is genuinely a kind and loving person which the batfam especially Bruce are extremely proud of considering her and all the other robins pasts, how they could keep their humanity though all they went through was honorable, doesn’t really have beef with anyone other than the villains of course (although Damian did eat her last instant ramen). She enjoys painting/drawing and is often found engrossed in a novel in the library. Her favorite food is instant ramen and she has a personal vendetta against people who eat the shrimp flavor, she is closest with Jason Todd and Cassandra Cain. If you can’t find any one of the trio you could probably find them all talking a nap together in Rivers room because she has a huge pile of random blankets and pillows in her room that she created specifically for this situation. She is VERY protective of all her “siblings” she is the 2nd oldest tied with Jason, (dick is still the oldest 🙄🤚) when Jason died she got extra protective and is always keeping tabs on each person at all times because she has a crippling fear of failure and takes losses very personally. Based off her past she actually was selectively mute for the first 3 years of living with the batfam but with some therapy and reassurance she broke out of her shell and the first words she said to them were “I love you guys” 🥺(my baby). She likes to help Alfred cook food (probably cause she is the only one who is not a liability in the kitchen).

Backstory: Rivers mother is a jungle fae and her father works for a mob gang, her mother and father were never kind to her, they were told they would make an extremely powerful offspring so they came together for the benefit of both of their sides. Rivers mother took her for the first years of her life, training her in the ways of the fae and how they fight/work, she grew up with red and orange wings (ombré) her mother found out about a special prophecy stating that River would grow to be one of the most powerful fae in a history, but to do that she would need to say goodbye to her wings. Her mother was a bit of a sadist in the fact that she slowly burned rivers wings from the base when she was 10, she now has a permanent burn scar in the shape of wings spanning her upper back. Her mother than believed that she needed to do nothing more so while they waited for rivers father she abused and neglected her to “teach her the importance of strength” because “pain is weakness” and rivers mother believed there was no room for weakness in her life. When rivers father took her he was no better, teaching her how to become an assassin deadly enough to topple governments like it was nothing, while training with her father she unlocked the power to access her phoenix, in true Author fashion it’s incredibly painful 😁🤚 basically because burn scars kinda make the skin more taught and less flexible, when she moves a certain why in a sudden movement these scars can “snap” basically the scars tear and transform into flame style wings while her tears (cause imma tell you rn there will be tears) turn into scorching embers and she has completed the “transformation” mind you her scars are actively bleeding and the blood is like trailing down her back but she’s unfazed like a badass (self projecting there, Oop- 😨). River doesn’t necessarily like transforming into phoenix (for obv reasons) so she doesn’t do it often but the batfam actually isn’t aware of her powers they are only informed on her “special training” which landed her the spot on the team.

Spelling/grammar mistakes

Dazai hated fancy parties. That was never any secret. Prince Osamu Dazai would rather do so many other things he greatly dislikes than go to parties, especially balls. Yet, he understood the importance of them. It helped strengthen ties with neighboring kingdoms and the nobility by inviting them to the castle. Luckily, his parents only hosted one once a year. Unless there was something big to celebrate. Like a special anniversary or birthday. So he put up with it for one night. He'd make sure to be on his best behavior as he greeted guests. After he disappeared most of the night. He'd make perfectly timed reappearances to socialize or dance with the daughter of a noble or a princess, then disappear again. It worked well and no one complained. He did plan his timings perfectly the morning of the ball.

And then he saw her. A princess he hadn't met before. He didn't greet nor her parents or escorts - he wasn't sure which the princess had come with. The young princess could only assume that she was one of the guests that were known to arrive later. He wouldn't normally greet latecomers. Most would be people he didn't know so it wouldn't hurt if he didn't greet them.

This new Princess caught his attention though. With her stood his Prince Chuuya Nakahara, his childhood best friend, and Princess Sky, Prince Chuuya's betrothed. The three were laughing and having drinks together. The way she smiled was beautiful. He found himself wondering if he could make or smile like that. If he could make her laugh. Prince Dazai found himself determined to try.

Prince Dazai only knew two things about the third person of the trio. That she's a princess and that she's shorter than him. And so, using all the manners he was taught as a prince, he walked over to the trio. As politely as he could, he interrupted their conversation and asked the unknown princess, "Excuse me, would like to dance, Princess Shrimp?"

FIRST OF ALL— the idea of Dazai being so overwhelmed by such beauty brings me happiness to my heart. I understand his emotions and feelings at first when it comes to gatherings and parties, and his reactions, omg. I just might faint, how could you do this to my heart? I'm not complaining, actually, I'm in love, with all of this, and the sweet laughter that you and Chuuya shared with each other got my heart melting into pieces 😖💖 that's absolutely adorable, AAAH, of course Dazai, I would love to dance with you.

I'm sorry I'm so late on this but truly, this just made my night. I wasn't feeling well but what perfect timing I read this and it brings butterflies to my stomach, aaah 🥺🤍 thank you so much for writing this. Happiness is truly what Dazai deserves and seeing him enjoy himself even in the little bits of recognizing a beauty of another (and you added me in here too?! I just might faint, seriously) is just so, aaah, my heart. I'm melting, help. 😫💘

It’s easy to talk about the last two because honestly, I like them for the food HAHAHAHAHA like please, I think about the gumbo pot and the ratatouille dish at the end a lot when I eat dinner. I’m not gonna lie, I always wanted to try gumbo as a kid, but I got my heart shattered recently when I found out that there’s shrimp in it 🤡🤡🤡 ergdhhdddhdhd life is so cruel. But at least I can eat ratatouille 😭😭😭 I really really want to try the Disney-styled ratatouille. I can’t remember if the dish has eggplant though, but if it does, well fuck me too because apparently, I’m allergic to eggplant too 🥲

Coco,,, oh God, this is a whole essay. I just love music in general, so Coco already got my heart from the first ten minutes. The whole family tradition of not being allowed to enjoy music is just so so sad, and I felt so bad for Miguel.

I super love the whole concept of the Land of the Dead. It’s just, something about the afterlife kinda gets me. Like, where do we go? Do we go to heaven? Hell? Purgatory? Nirvana? Or is it something else that humanity has never even thought about?

I already talked about La Llorona and Remember Me here, so you can already read my thoughts on the last part of the movie more or less. But just mANNN Coco gets me in ways that most movies cannot. OK but to seriously answer this question, I actually don’t have a set favorite character? Like, Disney is such a vast franchise with so many compelling stories (that aren’t live action) that it’s just so hard to choose.

I suppose if I have to answer, Remy from Ratatouille? I just love his sense of taste and I really want him as a chef LOL and plus, he worked really hard to achieve a seemingly impossible dream. I stan that 😩
