Sorry, I wasn’t clear - I know that the winery posted the pic, but I’m pretty certain they wouldn’t have done so without Scott’s approval. Given that he hid J’s pregnancy and the existence of his child for 7 months afterwards, I just don’t see them sharing this pic unless he said it was ok. Also, the Canada’s Sweethearts tagline being used for Scackie was beyond gross.
oh def at least one half of scackie had to provide that profesh photo to the winery (for the 10% off they got).

I got to take photos (and video) of Mary Testa yesterday and she was as delightful off-stage as she is on. I kept it profesh and did not share with her how deeply in love I am with everything she’s ever done.

Hangliding, Favela jazz and more beaches
In the last few weeks I....
Turned 30 🎉
Tumblr media
Went hang-gliding. It was very chilled and felt a bit like flying but only lasts a few mins sadly. Still worth it for the views.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wasn’t listening properly when he explained he was going to unstrap my leg so this is me screaming because I thought I’d come loose, luckily I’m quite close to the ground.
Tumblr media
Obviously celebrated by having a nice coconut.
Tumblr media
Moved house to Leblon
It’s really fancy here and this is is my new local beach just around the corner. 😏
Tumblr media
Celebrated my birthday at a carnival style samba street party.
No pictures (I don’t normally take my phone out with me) so these google ones will do. If you ever come to Rio go here, it’s awesome. Bar do Nanam.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Watched live jazz in a mosaic maze in a favela.
The Maze is high up in a favela and once a month they play live jazz. The band were amazing (I wasn’t sure if I liked jazz, and maybe the band weren’t even jazz but it was really good whatever it was). The place is a hotel and was built by a British artist, but most excitingly THE Gary Lineker has been there. Read it for yourself here.
It’s a cool house made of mosaics. Here’s a profesh photo of it...
Tumblr media
And here’s a less profesh one but has me in it looking really happy with a toucan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The night ended with a long walk down the favela hill but onto the beach, before picking up a burger and beers on the way.
Tumblr media
So it’s my last full week in Rio and I’m feeling quite sad about leaving. There’s still so much I still haven’t done but I suppose it gives me more reasons to come back.
This last week will probably be an intense codey and boozy week with my Nerd Herd...so I’m sure it will be a good one 👊
Tumblr media
Things I’ve learnt this week
Do not get straight into bed after going to the beach without having a shower.
Do not go to Dominoes in Brazil. There will be no garlic dip so the whole thing becomes pointless.
Leblon supermarkets are better than Waitrose and it is possible to have a whole aisle with only olive oils.

Buyer Beware: Anna Chandler/Elise, Czechmix, Taleybone, Annaelisedraw, ect..
The one of many names of which many are already familiar. Tumblr isn’t a good place for me to post all the screen caps, but they are all posted on instagram and facebook in warning groups. Here is a link to one of the groups it’s posted to (Bjd World Market) https://www.facebook.com/groups/280417182022846/?ref=br_rs
and (BJD Addicts Feedback/Community Alert)
https://www.facebook.com/groups/974023212693715/permalink/1443803612382337/?notif_t=group_post_approved¬if_id=1506401287542825
It’s also fully on my instagram page. I’m posting here because I know how Anna is. She’s spreading her twisted version of the story around wherever she can, and she has confessed about me before on the blog TrueBJDConfessions. I do expect to see more from her.
I’ll post the verbal content of the warning, as there are 42 screenshots and they really can’t be posted effectively here.  View beneath the “read more.”
And I’m always happy to send you the screencaps if you can’t see them elsewhere. Just be aware that there...are 42 of them lol. But I’m all too happy to supply them.
!!!!Negative feedback for Anna Elise/Anna Chandler!!!!
*Note: This incident occurred on instagram. My username there is Bearcalledred. Anna Chandler/Elise has gone by numerous names, including Taleybone, Czechmix, Bunnyflavor, Ruddyrainbowdolls, annaelisedraw, ghostchildiv, bjdfairygiveaways, ninjaswordsparkle, and ninjakelpie.
I had really hoped I would never have to post one of these! But up until now, my transaction with @annaelisedraw was ordinary. She has been known by many things and was @ruddyrainbowdolls at the time of commission. I actually received numerous warnings about working with this individual, but I took the commission because I thought we were friends and that she wouldn't do anything shifty to me. I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and look past her bad history. I was commissioned to make a pair of eyes, and then paint a doll of hers. I finished the eyes in a month, I believe. I can't check the exact date because the ruddyrainbowdolls account has been deactivated. So the eyes are done, and I'm waiting to hear back about the doll that she's finishing. She wanted to finish the mods on it before sending it. To this day I have gotten no communication regarding the doll, or any thing besides accepting the way the eyes look. I wasn't really impatient about the doll, so I didn't pester. All was fine! No indication that anything was wrong. In the meantime, someone submits to TrueBJDConfessions, which Anna seems to miraculously not know about?  Criticising me for that time my cat knocked a head off of a box into my lap. The buyer of the head knew about this and had no issue. Didn't know who it was, so I went on. Via her messages to me here, after we get into a disagreement on a photo of mine, she lets it slip. It was she who submitted a confession about me on the confession blog on tumblr. Nice! So profesh. "pets playing with customers items?" So that's never happened. I wonder what she could be focusing on? Our disagreement was about people who had been rude to me about one of my dolls' face. I posted the photo later saying "Idk that she really cares who dislikes her face." Because I was tired of people commenting that she looked like a blow up doll or that she was high. Naturally, I'm annoyed. I didn't notice that she had posted a comment later also on my box opening photo of her expressing her dislike of the sculpt. The comment itself wasn't rude, I would have had no issue with it. But what became rude was her comment on the picture of her afterwards. She then proceeded to assume entirely that I was talking about her, and began an argument. I didn't even know who she was, I have never heard of this account of hers. I won't go into detail about the argument. It's still up on the photo of Keeley mentioned before, you can read it. (for Facebook, I've included  a screenshots) I come to find out that this person, who I thought was some random person, is Anna. I feel betrayed and infuriated. I was going to initiate the refund to her myself after discovering this, because I could forsee many problems that I didn't want to deal with before I got this doll of hers. The eyes were a relatively small commission, but dealing with something complex like a doll was now something I did NOT want to risk. She has especially bad history in trading and shipping dolls in poor condition. I can actually vouch for that one. I traded for 2 minifee heads from her years ago, and they arrived unprotected with grocery sacks being the only thing to pad them. I didn't complain, they weren't damaged. I was going to sleep on the decision to refund her and end the commission, but I was awoken by messages from her, shown, asking for eyes or refund. I chose refund. I don't need someone like this posting a spiteful hate-review because we had an argument. This should have been the end of it, but she proceeded to be very nasty. I included the frequent "third picture of Negi" for reference. She apparently takes very high offense to my use of jointed hands. So in conclusion, this transaction and experience with Anna went from nice, ok, ordinary, to flaming dumpster fire so quickly. She is a very volatile client and I've heard this from many commissionable artist friends. Since posting the original warning, numerous people have come forth with their own stories about Anna. I have permission to post them. The fact that she had been banned and has numerous problem transactions on DoA should have been enough, but it was my mistake. She claims to have very little bad feedback, but that truly is not the case. She had a long history of bad transactions, including one now from me. She has been spreading the lie that I'm warning people about her because I "lost her sale." I actually had the choice to send the eyes. I terminated the commission and refunded out of choice. Btw, it was $40. I'm not slandering someone for a loss of $40, nor would I slander a client to begin with for wanting to end a transaction on reasonable terms. I may not have even posted a buyer beware, if she hadn't proceeded to be so vile to me. The thing that crossed the line for me was making fun of my illness. Saying that I "whine about my physical illnesses" and she doesn't, so I'm wrong. And also, gasp! I take sick days. How evil of me. So no, this isn't a simple matter of a lost sale. She's a terrible, abusive client, and I want people to be aware before they accept a commission from her. I'll answer any questions if someone should have them. I have screenshots of everything, and Anna may possibly be deleting her comments to make it seem like I have been. She mentioned one of her comments being deleted, but I was unable to find what she was talking about, and I'd been taking screen shots as the event progressed.

*Wipes brow* PHEWWWWW, it’s all over. Can’t fricking believe it. The bash consumed me for the last couple of months. So much so, I actually took an entire week off the blog… AN ENTIRE WEEK WITH NO POSTS… I KNOW. Try not to fall over. I was shocked too. I didn’t even put up a fight!
It was spectacular. I loved every minute and wanted to do a little reflecting on the event before I swiftly force ask the committee to start work on next year’s do. (I gave them one day off. I’m nice like that!) *snigger*
But it’s all over, I really can’t believe it. First and foremost, a massive thank you to all of you, we had an enormous 6331 votes cast this year, and that is all down to you, the bloggers for helping to share the awards. So thank you ❤
Before I review this year, I have two announcements:
First I wanted let you know there’s a mailing list for the bash. We I fucked up on several occasions not emailing the right people or forgetting people off the list. So we’re going all profesh and managing shit properly.
So if you’re interested in coming next year sign up here. PLEASE NOTE – don’t use a yahoo email address to sign up. We’re having some issues getting mailing requests come through. If you were at the bash and agreed to be signed up, you don’t need to sign up again as I’ve done it for you.
Second:
NEXT YEARS BASH DATE HAS BEEN SET, PEOPLE… HUZZAH!
If you’re interested in coming next year, the big bash will be Saturday June 10th, 2017.
Luca Sartoni, our fabulous due speaker, also happened to be a photographer. He took some stunning photos a selection of which are below and the rest you can see here. I am in the process of breaking the speech video into four so I can upload it to YouTube and share it with you.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
If you missed the winners post, you can find it here.
In other news if you didn’t catch my crazy celebration dance on Facebook, we, the bloggers bash hashtag (#bloggersbash) trended on twitter!
The BloggersBash trended! :O
IT ACTUALLY FUCKING TRENDED ON TWITTER. Excuse me while I pass out in excitement! I had no idea! If it wasn’t for the lovely Suzie Speaks dropping me a text with this proof, I’d have been clueless. SO EPIC thank you to everyone who tweeted and shared things over the weekend.
So I said a few words at the bash, I also forgot a few words, so here’s a less garbled summary of my key points without the fire exit and toilet directions for attendees!
SPEECH
Welcome… Welcome to everyone who has made it here. I know it’s a cliché and but It really does feel like yesterday that we were standing in an awkward circle outside the British library waiting for the stragglers to turn up. And now look at us.
An actual fucking army of bloggers have descended on London.
Many of you have thanked me on the run up to this event for all the hard work the committee has put in, but what you don’t realise, is that for me, (not sure about the committee I bullied them into this) for me… This is an honour.
In my eyes, this is as much your event as it is mine. If it weren’t for the hard work of each and every one of you here and (those who couldn’t make it), for the dedicated sharing, reblogging, the continual shout outs, the posts, promos and tweets, this event wouldn’t have grown. Without your help none of this would be possible.
So from me to you, I give you my deepest thanks, and if you enjoy today, ask that you continue to help support the event in years to come.
What I find magical about this event and blogging is the connectivity. The fact that people from all over the world are connected to each other. Momentary meetings that would never have been. Friendships that bridge miles of road, sea and land. Age gaps that are meaningless, because our connections are based on values, interests, passions and dreams.
So a special thank you to all those of you that have travelled from afar to be here today. I just want to take a minute to highlight the extensive distance some people have travelled to be here, we have bloggers from: Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Poland, Ireland our speaker has come from Austria. We have bloggers from all over the UK too, Aberdeen, Galway, Leeds, Birmingham, Yorkshire, Nottingham, Reading, Swansea and Newcastle to name but a few.
Thank you to Luca as well, for taking time out of his busy schedule to come and speak today. It was an amazing masterclass and we are really grateful to wordpress/automattic for allowing it to happen.
My final and biggest thank you of all, has to go to the committee. Who put up with me all year round, they deserve a fucking medal for that alone.
There have been lots of posts and write ups about the event, and if you haven’t seen or read any yet, then below are a selection of them:

Fall Checklist: Pressure Washing Away The Grime!
This blog mini-series is in partnership with Lowe’s! Thank you for supporting my sponsors!
Friends: I have picked up a new hobby. A passion project, if you will. The hobby is obliterating dirt and grime from various surfaces with water from a magic wand. Literally, it’s called a wand and it’s part of my new pressure washer!
Carrying on with the theme of trying to make the front of my house look presentable while it awaits restoration and I wrap up the huge restoration of the side of the house, I focused a little attention on the front porch!
From a distance, the porch looks…pretty OK? It appears to be mostly original, and the fact that it’s still there at all is the main bright spot. It’s going to need a ton of work eventually—everything from the cornice (which may or may not need to be at least partially rebuilt—the rot is bad), to the siding, to those gloriously large 6-over-9 windows, to the door, to the transom, to the floor, to the columns. Literally all of it! I used to think I’d tackle the whole front elevation of the house at once, but now I’m thinking restoring the porch may well take an entire summer to get right. Isn’t that center column crazy looking?
I think that’s what happens when a contractor temporarily supports the roof and removes the original columns to install a new floor (the original floor was almost definitely tongue-and-groove fir, not 5/4″x6″ pressure-treated pine decking!), and then doesn’t understand that the columns are tapered when he throws a level on the side of the original column to put it back. I’m presuming this contractor was male, because only a guy would be this dense. The column is tapered, genius! You’re doing it all wrong! It’s only super noticeable when you look at the porch head-on, but of course it makes me mad whenever I think about it. Poor beautiful house. Who hurt you like this?
IN ANY EVENT. I sweep the porch sometimes. That’s about it. To be honest it’s not like the porch is in constant use—looking out onto the street isn’t the most bucolic view in the world, but I do like to sit out there on warm days with a cup of coffee or a cocktail and my laptop, getting some work done and watching the world go by until I get bored of the world and want to go inside. Sadly over time I’ve definitely used the porch less, not more, which I didn’t think about much until I realized the reason for that is pretty simple.
OK fine I’ll show you.
Please be kind.
I’m sorry in advance.
GASP! I FEEL LIKE A MONSTER! Yes, for real: that’s how the vinyl siding under the porch looked until a few days ago. No, it hasn’t always been that bad. No, I have not doctored this photo for dramatic effect. Yes, I have completely neglected to touch it in five years because if I’m not actively renovating it, what is the point of doing even some light maintenance?
The point is this: restoring a house takes a long time, and in that time you constantly have to negotiate between quick and achievable solutions and long-term, more comprehensive work. Focusing only on the latter means that you’re ignoring the former (guilty!), and so everything starts to actually look way worse than it really is. When I look at things like this, my instinct is to just rip all the vinyl off the wall—can of worms be damned! But then I have to reign it in and remember that I will tackle that project someday, but not today. Today, I just need it to…not be disgusting. And if I’ve learned anything through working on the inside of houses, it’s that a good cleaning is the cheapest and fastest kind of makeover.
Just to cut myself a little slack, the whole house doesn’t look like this, I swear!!! The rest of the vinyl siding at least gets washed down a little when it rains, but these walls under the porch never get rained on, so all that road dirt and pollen and other dirt just kind of accumulates. Let’s try not to think too hard about what this may or may not suggest about my local air quality, seeing as I’d rather just keep living my life than figure out how to insert myself into a plastic bubble.
So. I described my gross situation to my fairy godparents at Lowe’s and asked if I could pretty-please have my very own pressure washer, and they obliged! #2blessed
As I have recently discussed, I have a deep and abiding aversion to equipment that needs gas or oil to work. Whether it’s a lawnmower or a weed whacker or a snow blower, in my mind they are all equally as complicated as an automobile or a fighter jet and I wouldn’t mess around with the innards of those either. I’ve had my car for like 4 years and only recently learned how to pop the hood…while I let the AAA guy replace my battery, which I’d sooner throw into the Hudson River than attempt to jump by myself. Way too risky. Are you nuts? I’ll stick to house stuff PLEASE AND THANK YOU and I just want my tools to work immediately and without hassle and this doesn’t seem like too much to ask out of life.
So anyway! My pressure washer is by Stanley, and it’s a plug-in model! And when you go to turn it on, it does so immediately and without hassle! It’s everything I ever wanted! Unfortunately it’s currently out of stock, but I got the inside scoop and they’re working on restocking them AS I TYPE THIS VERY SENTENCE so all is not lost. There are a bunch of electric pressure washers available, though, including this Greenworks one that’s evidently equally powerful, a little cheaper, and looks much more compact! Why didn’t I just get that one? NOT SURE. I felt like branching out into yellow machines. Like most new tools I buy, I generally don’t need the biggest, baddest, most powerful one out there, but I also don’t want the cheapest one because that often results in disappointment (and needing to replace it sooner). My Stanley machine lands in the middle/upper-end of available options, and seems more than sufficient to do the things I want it to do!
ANYWAY, back to my very disgusting siding. My basic strategy was to start up at the top of the wall and work my way down, concentrating on each horizontal run of siding on my way down. It took a few minutes to kind of get comfortable with it, and then it was ALL I WANTED TO DO for the rest of the day. I mean how satisfying, right? Included with the machine were a few different interchangeable nozzles for the end of the wand, which are helpful for different kinds of cleaning projects.
After giving everything a first pass, which maybe took about 20 minutes, things were looking about a thousand times better! DEFINITELY way more than a hose alone could have done, and way faster and less hassle than trying to do this by hand with a sponge and some rags which was my previous plan I’d been putting off forever.
Not all pressure washers have them, but one of the things I like about mine is that it has a separate chamber for detergent if you need something with more cleaning power than just pressurized water. It uses about 1 part of cleaner for every 10 parts of water, so concentrated cleaners that aren’t too gel-like work well. After I got most of the grime off, I filled the detergent compartment with regular white vinegar and went back for a second pass, figuring it couldn’t hurt and might help lighten some of the deeper staining. Lowe’s also sells a full line of cleaners for different applications—next time I want to add the Krud Kutter House and Siding Cleaner and see how that does! The regular Krud Kutter has become one of my indispensable cleaning products around the house, so I’m optimistic.
SO. TO REVIEW. BEFORE:
LIKE LITERALLY AN HOUR LATER:
I thought it would be cute to switch the coffee out for a cocktail and add a festive little lantern. This backfired because a) you can’t tell that the stupid candle is lit and b) my friend dropped by while this very profesh photoshoot was going on and I had to explain that I was not, in fact, fixing a cocktail to drink at 1 in the afternoon but rather to just take pictures of for the Internet, which I realized as it came out of my mouth just might actually be more embarrassing.
I TRY. But the point here is not my lackluster prop styling. The point here is my now positively LUMINOUS walls of vinyl siding that no longer look like they’ve been left to steep in a swamp for years on end.
It looks SO much better. One thing I didn’t totally know about vinyl siding is the extent to which it really does stain—you’d think plastic wouldn’t but it totally does. Most of the nastiness was surface dirt and staining, but even blasting at the highest pressure couldn’t get the deeper staining out. So it didn’t exactly achieve “it looks brand new!” kinds of results, but I blame the old vinyl (and MAYBE a certain someone’s years of deferred maintenance), not the washer. But this kind of improvement for a very little amount of work? I’LL TAKE IT! In fact, I really think this is a chore I can add to my seasonal to-do lists and do again a couple times a year to maintain it, and I know having my very own pressure washer will come in handy for ALL SORTS of things. I’m already giving my fence, garage and sidewalks side-eye. Also the street. Also my neighbors houses. What if I just start rogue pressure-washing things in the dead of night? Like I know I probably shouldn’t but just…WHAT IF? Watch out, world.

Life as told by... Mrs Cleaver.
Wow! So hasn’t a lot happened since the last post. I stopped sending Insta to my blog too so I could have a real catch up the next time I had the chance, which is now!
Chris and I got married! It was absolutely the best day of my life. And his too - he told me so. I have just never been so happy. I felt so unbelievably loved by all my friends & family (apart from my Nan who ducked out early lololol) and I felt just incredible. I think I looked bomb. That was the goal and with the power of Reagans magic hands and paint + a pretty expensive dress, beauty was achieved! Tick! My bridesmaids just looked fucking sensational. There is no other words for it. I would have taken any of them home. They just shone. Lynne had done all my flowers, FOR FREE might I add as a wedding present and when she brought my bouquet in to see, that was the first time I almost fell apart that day. It was absolutely beautiful. She is so talented!
My first look was probably when I was the most freaked out/nervous. I had to walk from the house to where Chris was in the Kauri trees and all the groomsmen and their wives could see me walking out and started clapping (instantly more nervous!) He turned around and was so Chris about it. All smiles, couldn’t give me one little tear Mr Heart of Stone! But really it was awesome, he didn’t need to. Rose snapped away at us being all lame together. Then I got the groomsmen over for a shot with them. I love all those boys. The photos are cute because a few of them are looking off to Chris on the side - as am I - he was pretty fly that day.
We then had a few more quick clubs made by fantastic Mum. Mad props to her for organizing and making most of the food for that week. She’s a superstar. She also looked so fab! Then it was time to head off for photos. We went to Pukehina which was cute because it was where Chris proposed and we’ve spent a lot of time together there. I remember when we got engaged then we went and got a Pizza from The Store and it just felt surreal that we were doing something so mundane as getting a pizza and I just wanted to tell the shop people but they would not have cared haha. Anyway I digress.
The beach and the colours were phenomenal. I don’t know how we did it, but we got the most perfect weather that day. Not even too hot, or a cyclone as predicted.... We took beach photos then went to the estuary for some shade and sultry. Back to the venue to hide out before the ceremony started.
Dad provided shots for himself and the bridesmaids which was much needed I think before we walked out. Gill lead the way, nervous as anything. I actually felt quite zen. I don’t know if it was the no glasses thing or just a bit of booze and rescue remedy but I felt so good. Dad, as predicted, had to tell Tudi (the dirty, shaggy family dog) to “GET IN THE SHED” as he tried to follow me down the aisle. Apparently the guests didn’t even hear it! Dad handed me over and counted his goats and I got to tell everyone how much I loved Chris. Donna missed our vows. How hilarious. Her one job. But it was fine. Chris’ birthday was wrong too so it meant we weren’t officially married until that was fixed up on the following Wednesday. #romantic.
I then had about 100,000 hugs from everyone. It was nice but I was also quite over it by the end haha. We took a few more photos on the swing and then it was time for the entrance into the marquee which Matt convinced me to do. We walked into Kesha - Tik Tok “Cause the party don’t start till I walk in” which was amazing really. Then we got to eat. The food was so good! Brownie delivered. We got served at the table and I barely ate. A bit of meat and salad. Chris ate enough for three people so that was good. The gravy was heaven. I pretended to go get desert but actually just got up to look at desert and chat to people, then we were sitting down for speeches.
All of our speeches were amazing and everyone told me so after which is nice! You don’t usually enjoy speeches. Well I mean, you can but usually people ramble and even Michael kept his under control - it was awesome! Dirts spoke so cleverly and well. Bailey loved me and I love her but she made me sob. Adrienne made me cry and Grandad forgot the words to his song but it was still so lovely. Especially when everyone joined in to help him. Dad ad-libbed to the speech I wrote him and ended up saying nice things. Zoe, my pal - cried during hers & Johns was short and sweet but he was super emotional too! Teryll & Sarah didn’t speak but sat at the end weeping their way through it all!
After all that, it was time to quickly cut some cake and then for Chris & I to do our first dance. It felt sloppy and awkward to me in my big dress but apparently came off as flowy and sweet. We even got a few tears #profesh. Then everyone joined in and it was boooggayyy time. Sarah caught my bouquet! I danced ALL night. I talked to homies, but mostly I raged because it was all my favorite music the whole night. A few people got too drunk but it didn’t matter. It was just awesome. I want to do it all again. Bring on my 10 year Wedding Anniversary. Same shit, different day!
