It all started a few weeks before Thanksgiving. They had all had been hanging out in the Wheeler's basement, the kids going on about their upcoming Thanksgiving break and what they were going to do during it. Dustin had brought up how much he loves this time of year because his mom makes the best Turkey. This quickly devolved into everyone discussing their Thanksgiving day plans.

The Wheelers had family coming into town, Robin was going to her grandma's, The Byers/Hopper family was having a little dinner on their own, etc. Everyone was spending time with their families, even Eddie mentioning that he and Wayne have a little dinner, and watch football together(despite Eddie not loving the sport, he didn’t mind it with Wayne.)

Steve, though, stayed quiet, not adding to the conversation, sometimes nodding as people spoke excitedly about their plans. Eddie notices that Steve doesn't say anything, because of course he does. He won't admit it, but he notices almost everything Steve does. He can't help it, he has it hard for the guy. But he keeps that to himself, there is no way Steve Harrington is into guys, let alone him.

He turns to Steve, "How about you, big boy?" He smiles. "What are you doing? Are your parents making you go to some big fancy Thanksgiving dinner?"

Steve's face waivers momentarily into a look of sadness, a blink and you miss it kind of thing. But Eddie saw. He saves that to the back of his head. Steve though recovered, an easy look about his face, speaking nonchalantly. Well practiced. "Nah, man. They go on vacation every year, so I just have a day to myself."

Eddie can't help to think that Steve Harrington seems to have a lot of days to himself, always being alone in that big house. It hurts to know that even on a holiday, that seems to be true. In reality, Steve's parents have never spent Thanksgiving with him, when he was younger, leaving with a nanny, and since he was 14, leaving him alone. They excused it as needing some couple time, as thier other trips without him were business trips. Steve stopped complaining to them at the age of 9, accepting they didn't care to spend time with him.

Eddie tries to match Steve's nonchalant tone, everyone staring at Steve with his revelation that even the holidays, Mr. and Mrs. Harrington were gone. Noone bothered to ask before, leading to guilt in some of thier faces, particularly Robin and Nancy. Eddie says "I mean, you can always come to my place. I'm sure Wayne wouldn't mind."

Steve shifts uncomfortablly, he looks around seeing the guilt and pity in everyone's face, hating that the attention is now on him. The last thing he wanted was to impose on someone else. He is supposed to take care of all of them, not the other way around. And now, the boy he is secretly in love with is inviting him over out of some sense of pity. He didn't want that.

"Ah...um thanks, Munson. But I'm good. I'm used to it, we never spend it together." He smiles. Eddie wants to push, knows Steve is not good, but also knows enough that Steve is stubborn, he is not going to budge. So he just nods his head and adds "Okay...well the offer is there if you change your mind."

That doesn't mean that he doesn't secretly hope that Steve will accept one of the million offers that come to him over the next few weeks. Everyone couldn't believe Steve was spending Thanksgiving alone. Even Mike tried to convince them to come over to the Wheeler's house. But every single offer, from every single person is turned down. Steve didn’t want to impose. But Eddie could see with every offer, Steve wanted to accept, a little light in his eye, but everytime it seemed like he talked himself out of it.

But that's something he noticed about Steve. Steve didn’t want to accept help, acted like he didn't deserve it. But Steve was always willing to help any of them. It killed him he couldn't help him in return, especially when Steve looked like he wanted it.

Thats how he ended up calling an emergency group meeting a few days before the holiday, minus Steve.

It was Thanksgiving day. Steve sat in front of the TV, still in his sweatpants and T-shirt he fell asleep in, his hair still messy from bedhead. He didn't even have his contacts in, wearing his glasses, it's not like he was going to see anyone, anyways.

He thinks about the numerous invitations he recieved the last few weeks. Maybe he should have accepted, maybe he wouldn't feel like such shit right now. But he couldn’t take thier pity. No one really wants him around for a family holiday, heck even his own family doesn't want to be around him.

He is terrified that if he lets himself be vulnerable, allow himself to accept help, be anything other than reliable, helpful to others, they will see how useless he really is.

He is worried that one day his tricks won't work anymore, and people won't need him, and they will get bored of him. Throw him away. Despite his best efforts, he feels a tear slip down his cheek. He doesn't want to feel this.

He decides he is just going to pop one of his mother's sleeping pills, and sleep off the rest of the holiday. Tomorrow he can go back to being useful, shuttle the kids around, pretend they'll always need him.

Just as he gets up to head to the medicine cabinet, he hears a bang at the door. He freezes wondering who can be here on Thanksgiving. He thinks about ignoring it, hoping they will go away.

But then he hears a familiar voice on the other side. "Open up, Harrington! I know you're here, I seen the Beemer in the driveway!" Eddie.

What is he doing here? Steve starts making excuses in his head, as he goes to the door, ready to reject any last minute invitations Eddie is trying to push. He opens the door and starts "Eddie, I told you, I'm fi..." He stops when he looks out at who is infront of him.

Eddie is holding a case of beer, while everyone in the party (kids and adults alike) stands behind him holding various side dishes. Even Wayne, Hopper, and Joyce are there, Joyce holding a full Turkry. Eddie clears his throat "Well, you going to let us in or what? It would be such a waste of food if you don't. " Eddie stays cool, even as his brain malfunctions seeing Steve Harrington with messy hair and glassess.

Steve is dumbfounded, silently stepping aside so they can all come him. Robin stops and gives him a hug, carefully balancing the pie in her hands. He whispers "What about your grandma?"

She smiles "Thought it would be more fun hanging out with this family instead."

He can't help but feel touched "Thanks, Rob."

"Don't thank me, this was Eddie’s idea. For some reason, he couldn't let this go." She winks, knowing about Steve's crush on Eddie. Steve blushes in response. Robin walks off to join the others in the dining room, where they are setting up the food.

Steve knows he can't fight this, they are already here, may as well enjoy it. He goes to the kitchen, getting out 15 plates, silverware, cups, etc. He hears someone coming up behind him.

"Need any help, big boy? Eddie’s voice is soft.

"Uh, yeah. Can you take these plates out?" Steve asks, words he wants to say trapped behind his teeth.

"Sure." Eddie gives him an uncharacteristically soft smile. As he turns around with the plates in hand, he feels a soft pull on his sleeve. "Eddie, wait." Steve sounds sheepish.

"What is it?" He turns back around.

"Why...why did you do this? It's not like it was that important. I told you I was fine. " Steve is looking down now, eyes on his socks.

Eddie lets out a breath through his nose before setting the plates back down. He gently reaches for Steve’s chin, pushing his face up so he can look at him and see all the pain and confusion in Steve’s eyes. He gently moves his hand to Steve's cheek, noticing how Steve instinctively leans into the touch.

"Because, you were lying and I could tell. No one should be without their family on the holidays...and I'm you family now. We all are. We love you, I love you. So yeah, it was important. You're important, Stevie..."

The name slips out as Eddie notices the glassy look in Steve’s eyes. Steve whispers "Thanks, Eddie..." Steve puts his hand over Eddie’s hand resting on his cheek. Eddie notices the way Steve's eyes flick down to his lips and then back up.

This gives Eddie all the courage he needs to lean in and softly place a kiss on Steve's lips. He pulls back slightly to see Steve's reaction, relief covering him when Steve smiles back at him, moving his own hands to the small of Eddie’s neck, pulling him into another gentle kiss.

He rests his forehead against Eddie’s. "Happy Thanksgiving, Eds."

"Happy Thanksgiving, Sweetheart. "

byler- yall know im an absolute sucker for the Writer Mike™️ and Artist Will™️ hc. they definitely leave hawkins ASAP and go to university together. they always wanted to live in a bigger city, both because of the art scene, and because larger cities are usually more queer friendly. the problem is that will absolutely hates the cold, but also doesnt want to go back to california, or live in the south. basically he’s just a picky little bitch. honestly fuck it, ik the winters are cold but lets stick em in new york. mike gets him through the winter, and they keep their tiny little shoebox apartment at like 80F. (thats a good bit warmer than room temperature for those of u who dont use Freedom Units™️)

dustin- goes to UI and gets his masters. he works in like communications engineering for a while (is that like a thing? like he engineers different radio waves and forms of communication.) he then moves to indianapolis and becomes ur insanely cool high school science teacher. his coworkers think he’s fuckin weird, but the students LOVE him. I THINK HE AND SUZIE ARE LIKE HELLA ENDGAME. they live together and have a bunch of weird ass pets, and like 2 kids MAX. hes just suburban and happy :)

lumax- california lumax. i always imagined lucas working a pretty standard 9-5. not because hes a dull character, but he grew up in a stable home, and after everything max has been through, he wants her to feel secure and happy, like he did before everything went to shit. i have no fucking idea what max would do. lowkey i always hc her as being crazy good with kids, OH MY GOD WHAT IF SHE IS LIKE A PEDIATRIC TRAUMA COUNSELOR. im fucking genius that is so max. NO BETTER YET SHES A SOCIAL WORKER. because the system fucked her over, and nobody ever listened to her, so she advocates for children the way she wished someone did for her as a kid. this is canon because i say so fuck you. lumax doesnt plan to have kids, max has witnessed too many tragedies involving children, and cannot handle having her own. but they foster teenagers every once and while. then they foster one girl who’s a bit younger than normal, maybe 8. and then they accidentally fall in LOVE with this kid and fuck it, we’re adopting her she’s one of us now. and theyre a little family and its cute and max teaches her how to surf :))

el- this always interests me because i dont know what her life could even look like? depending on s5 outcomes things could look like 10 different ways. ik she isnt a strong student, so i like to think she goes to community college to see what she likes, because shes never really had a chance to explore that. i hope she finds something that makes her happy i fucking love this bitch. i saw an hc where she worked at the library in hawkins, so maybe she does that while she does community college classes. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YALL THINK SHE WOULD STUDY I CAN SEE LIKE 10 DIFFERENT THINGS. eventually she moves to california, to the same city as lumax. lumax’s kid calls her aunt jane, and they have dinners together and are happy because they all deserve the world ok.

the party remains intact to an extent. byler lives together, lumax lives together, and el lives in the same city as lumax. everyone reunites for the holidays, when will brings mike with him, and el brings lumax with her when they go home for Hopper- Byers christmas. dustin typically makes an effort to stop by while he is in town visiting his mother. even tho theyre in different cities, el and will talk on the phones every damn day. usually once, sometimes like 5 times daily. mike and el talk about once or twice a week, and byler talks to lumax about every other day. dustin creates a little bit more distance, but he makes an effort to call each person for at least an hour a week. there’s a lot of love between all of them :)

The cafe afterwards is more suited for general first date questions as he just wants to know you better.

Why: Beverly loves hearing you talk on what you love and even if she doesn’t really understand what you mean she’s the first person to ask questions and the first person to tell Richie to shut up and listen. She doesn’t mind your short temper and learns what to do to calm you down if you’re willing to share that with her. The fact that even under stress you can find solutions to things makes her awestruck because while she may be a quick thinker it’s hard to do anything under pressure for her.

First Date: Dinner and the arcade! She’s been saving up for weeks before the date so she has enough as she’ll insist on paying because it seems like the kind of thing you do on a first date. And also because she wants to make sure you can stay at the arcade for awhile. There’s not too much to do in Derry but you’ll end up walking around the town just to talk and get to know one another better. She might even drag you into an art store just so you can start talking to her about painting and why that’s something you’ve gotten into.

Why: Jonathan is a bit of an introvert and he loves you’re the opposite. He has to admit that coming out of his shell and being taken to parties is, actually pretty fun. He loves getting to talk and share his photography with you, plus he can’t get enough of your paintings, he thinks it’s an amazing talent and even if you think they’re not good, he sees the beauty in them. Loyalty to friends is a huge plus with him as he values loyalty when in a relationship and among his family and friends.

First Date: Jonathan takes you out driving around Hawkins, stopping at different spots to take photographs. If you don’t have a camera of your own then he’ll bring one of his old ones along for you to use. It’s fun to see what you’ll take photos of because you’ll see things differently than he will. And don’t be surprised if there’s a few candid shots of yourself found when you’re developing the photos. Afterwards you two will grab dinner and he might even have a first date mixtape ready to go.

god you KNOW i do!!! first of all i celebrate christmas and i dont rly know anything about other holidays this time of year so im just gonna... work on the assumption that they all celebrate christmas, but if anyone who doesnt celebrate or celebrates something else wants to reblog and add their own hcs i encourage it!!! okay this is gonna be so scattered but:

steve never really liked christmas very much. it was always just stressful and he hated having to spend time with his family and he always got like the most generic expensive boring gifts from his parents and it just wasn't really fun... the first christmas he really got into it was the christmas he spent with nancy and after they broke up, he was like oh christmas just fucking sucks!! but then...

that next christmas dustin invites him over for christmas eve and he brings a pie that he bought from the grocery store and claudia thanks him a million times and he wishes that he'd baked it himself so he didn't feel so guilty

dustin gives him a little baseball bat ornament and claudia is like "oh i thought you played basketball!" and steve is like "oh uh i do but i like baseball too :)" and he and dustin kinda smile at each other and steve ruffles his hair and they watch rudolph on tv and steve is like oh christmas.... is good......

speaking of dustin he always starts thinking about christmas gifts in like october but somehow ends up with absolutely nothing on december 20th and he has to run around in a panic finding gifts for the party

he drinks hot chocolate like a maniac... he doesnt drink water the entire month of december it's hot chocolate or it's nothing

hes one of those people who will say "come on it's christmas!!!" on like the tenth

lucas loves christmas!! he just thinks that it's a day and not a whole fucking month!!! he thinks anything before like december 15th is too much

the only thing he hates about christmas is that his parents always make him and erica pick out gifts for each other with no help from them... and since erica is an evil genius she always gets lucas the perfect gift just so she can hold it over his head for the entire year when he accidentally gets her a toy she already owns

she literally watches him open his present like >:) and lucas is pissed when it's this extremely specific action figure that he's wanted for a long time but he swears he never even mentioned it to anybody

and then he just sits there feeling like a stupid asshole as she unwraps a random doll that lucas figured she might like since its hair looks kind of sort of vaguely like erica's and she's like "thanks lucas :) i think i have this one already but it's sweet" and his parents are like "hey it's the thought that counts! erica see your brother knows what you like :)" and she's like "yeah :)" and then as soon as their parents aren't looking she sticks her tongue out at lucas and he sticks his out back at her

the sinclairs have such a disgustingly perfect christmas like they bake cookies together and shit it's adorable

speaking of adorable families the byers house is so full of love on christmas

almost all of the ornaments on their tree are handmade little crafts from when will and jonathan were younger and they buy tinsel at the dollar store and just go fucking ham with it their tree always looks like a hobby lobby threw up

growing up joyce would usually try to get them some things they need on christmas and then like one or two special things for each of them and she could never buy the fancy new toys that were in all the ads on tv and in magazines but she knows her boys.... jonathan got his first camera on christmas and it was from a secondhand store and kind of dinged up and definitely old as shit but he loved it..... will always got some new construction paper and crayons or markers so by the end of christmas day joyce would have new drawings to put up on the fridge or a new little ornament that he made for her.....

sometime in november jonathan would always be like "okay will i have a secret mission for you, you need to find out something mom needs that we could give her for christmas!" and will would be like "you have to say your mission should you choose to accept it" and jonathan would say "well i know you're gonna accept the mission" and will's like "jonathannnnn" and jonathan would be like "okay fine your mission should you choose to accept it" and will would be like >:) im a spy >:)

so little baby will would action roll around the house humming the mission impossible theme and peeking around walls at joyce and then after like a week he'd say "i think mom needs a stool she keeps jumping to try and reach stuff high up in the cabinets" and jonathan's like awesome thanks and he finds a cheap folding stool and some chocolates that he can afford with whatever money he has saved up and he has will wrap it because he figures it's like ten times cuter that way and joyce cries when she sees the little christmas card will put with the stool for her

i'm going way more in depth than i need to thvjdjcd but basically the byers house is all love man... so much love ..... they don't use colored lights anymore they only use the solid strands but they still have fun decorating together and will makes paper chains and stuff to hang up and i'm about to make myself cry

nancy is absolute dogshit at buying presents for people she's just terrible at it. she always just asks mike and holly and her parents what they want and buys exactly what they tell her and if they don't tell her anything then she has like a mental breakdown about it and panics and buys like. a flannel pajama gift set from the department store.

when she's dating steve he tells her not to worry about getting him anything which she takes at face value until her mom asks what she's giving steve like three days before christmas and then she starts panicking and she goes to a sporting goods store and just asks the first employee she sees what a teenage boy who plays basketball might like

steve can't tell if he should be like happy or vaguely offended that his girlfriend gave him like shoe deodorizers and a water bottle and socks for a sports team that he doesn't root for... she tried though and thats all he cares about

she and jonathan agree they'll exchange gifts but nothing over like MAX fifteen bucks which is easy she just finds a tape or a record she thinks he'll like and she's set (she spends a full hour in the music store and almost just gets a gift certificate for him but eventually she just says fuck it and picks some random shit she's never heard of and hopes he likes whatever it is)

mike on the other hand is actually like... insanely good at gift giving because he pays close attention to the people he cares about and he just like Knows if lucas or dustin or will is gonna like something

he just doesnt really buy into christmas all that much?? it's cool to get free stuff and eat cookies and all but he thinks people make it into a bigger deal than it should be

holly still believes in santa though so he likes seeing how excited she gets on christmas... it warms his cold tween boy heart.....

the first christmas he gets to spend with el he turns into a fucking christmas enthusiast and he makes her hot chocolate and gives her a tape full of christmas songs and he asks his mom for a bigger gift allowance because he has a GIRLFRIEND now and she's never- uh, THEY'VE never celebrated christmas TOGETHER so it has to be SPECIAL MOM!!!!

karen is like buddy calm down but it's so nice to see him excited about something again that she caves and gives him like forty bucks and tells him not to tell nancy or his dad

el and hopper christmas... i cannot go into detail or i WILL cry but hopper takes her with him to pick out their tree and she's so meticulous about it like examining all of them and he's just standing there in the cold freezing his ass off letting her do her thing because she's so excited that he doesn't have the heart to tell her they're basically all the same and to just hurry up and pick one

he gives her a lot of books... there are so many books under their ugly fucking tree because el picks one thats extremely crooked because she says it seems nice and hopper cant find any of his old decorations so they have to start from scratch...

el enlists the whole party for help finding hopper a present because it has to be the best present of all time!!!! they're like well what does he like and she's like uh tv.... coffee.... gun...... and they're like uh we can get him a coffee mug?

so on christmas morning el presents him with a "BEST DAD" mug full of candy and he hugs her so she won't see that he's fucking crying

she also gives max a drawing she did of max as wonder woman and it isn't very good but max says it's her favorite present she's ever gotten and she keeps it folded up in her nightstand

max has mixed feelings about christmas

i should not have saved her for last this is depressing

fuck her family fuck all of that okay max spends christmas eve with the sinclairs and christmas day with el because her mom and neil don't really feel like celebrating this year and so for the first time in a long time her christmas is full of love and joy and hopper makes them cinnamon rolls for breakfast which el has never had before and it's great

the party usually does a big gift swap and they don't get each other anything too fancy or expensive but it's sweet... they all gather in mike's basement like the day after christmas and eat the leftovers from the wheelers' christmas dinner and give each other comics and action figures and dice

once robin enters the picture she and steve lowkey get smashed on christmas eve together off peppermint schnapps and they play rockin around the christmas tree like ten times and jump around until they get dizzy...

they give each other little things like every other day leading up to christmas so by the end of december they've exchanged gifts like ten times but it isn't their FAULT okay!!! steve just saw these earrings and thought of her so he got them... and robin couldn't just leave that wham! crop top sitting in the store...... and steve couldn't resist the cheap bff necklaces he found while looking for a gift for erica....... and what is robin meant to do, ignore the stuffed kermit doll she saw in a store window?

it's just unrealistic

i like to think that everybody gathers at the byers house for lunch or dinner on christmas eve... they just hang out and exchange presents and make cookies and watch christmas movies and argue over which ones suck and which ones are actually good...... they just spend time together without any fear or danger and it's good

Tell me more about Jonathan and Fp being friends

ok this one we gotta take back to elementary school for their origin story.

so jonathan as we know is very antisocial and cant be bothered with anyone not in his family same so he and fp never really interacted unless they had to in school. 

and lets say fps mom had just died, or left, choose your dramatic depressing backstory, and he’s been real sullen lately and things arent good at home and he wears it for the whole world to see. 

jonathan feels bad but like, he doesnt exactly know what to do, so he just leaves it.

UNTIL

one day when joyce is picking him up from school (late because she couldnt get off work) she notices this sickly looking boy hanging around, now the last kid to get picked up (his dads probably passed out drunk somewhere forgetting to pick up his kid) (also for the sake of this lets say fred was out sick that day cuz obviously fp wouldve just gone home with him. ok. great. plot hole filled). so joyce and her need to adopt every kid she sees cannot allow this. she asks jonathan who he is and jonathan gives a brief explanation of who fp is and whats going on with him and thinks thatll be the end of it but oh no. then joyce is asking jonathan to go invite fp over and like.... its not that jonathan has any problems with fp.... but like.... maybe dont ask your anxiety ridden kid to go invite a stranger over to their house for a play date ?? but joyce cant very well go and ask. thatd be weirder. so. jonathan gets out of the car and goes. 

fps not really sold on this whole situation but then jonathan mentions his mom is making lasagna that night and fps stomach grumbles. he hasnt had a decent meal in weeks and who is he to pass up free lasagna? so he goes over to the byers’ house. (and maybe it should not be that easy for a woman to take a random child home with her from a school but this is the 70s/80s dont ask me what timeline im working under and child safety laws were not great and its joyce so its fine.)

ANYWHO! fp and jonathan have a real awkward time at first because theyve never really spoken to each other before and they dont really know how to make friends, but joyce is shooing them off to jonathans room while she goes to cook dinner. and thats when jonathan and fp realize they actually have a bunch of interests in common. fps looking through the few albums jonathan has and gets excited when he sees one of his favorite bands. and they find out theyre both huge horror nerds and jonathans showing fp some of his horror comics and then theyre playing dracula like a couple of weirdos and its just fun. 

also fp takes a real liking to joyce and that plays a big part in why he hangs out with jonathan so much. joyce fills this maternal role fps been looking for since he lost his mom. fps just up here stealing everybodys moms good for him he deserves it. hes been through enough (i mean obviously no one holds a candle to bunny andrews but ya know)

and fp starts inviting jonathan to hang out with him and fred at school and whatnot. and as they get older they form a unit. steve comes into the picture at some point through fred. and things of course get real awkward when the whole nancy debacle happens but we dont need to get into that right now.

also i can imagine like around late middle, maybe even earlier, jonathan starts feeling like a third wheel whenever hes with fred and fp and its not like how he used to feel like an outsider when he first came into their friendship. this is different. he suspects theres something more than platonic going on between those two but he doesnt say anything and he doesnt judge. he doesnt even know if theyve really figured their feelings for each other out yet so he just waits for that to unfold. 

ugh and when fp eventually comes out to jonathan and hes all nervous about it and scared jonathans not gonna wanna be his friend anymore but jonathan tells him its fine and he even saw this coming, even cracks a joke about what a couple of misfits the both of them are, and that makes fp feel better. 

and i wanna think about them having sleepovers an staying up late watching creature features and actually having someone who enjoys it with them cuz god knows fred gets scared shitless nancy doesnt particularly care for them but jonathan and fp get real into it and its just fun and basically theyre just a couple of closeted nerds with a penchant for depressing music and thats what bonds them together

• but then when will leaves the room joyce is like ??? i knew about will being gay, but mike?? and jonathan is like yeah?? it’s obvious?? mike is like obsessed with him?? and then they agree as long as will is happy thats what matters

• SUCH A POPULAR HC BUT HOPPER DEFINITELY WALKS IN ON WILL AND MIKE

•and he’s all annoyed and pissy and whatever, so mike and will freak out because “omg he’s homophobic”

•mike leaves and the byers-hopper family is eating dinner. it is silent. and then hopper just kind of “im ok with the gay thing, kiss all the boys you want. but MICHAEL FUCKING WHEELER???” (this is all very lighthearted btw)

• joyce ofc being all “we talked about this!! as long as he’s happy, right??”

• and simp hopper is like “yes joyce is right, will as long as ur happy thats what matters😐”

• hop is a byler enthusiast, but soley for the sake of will’s happiness. that being said, he will always have a slight vendetta against michael wheeler

• mike doesnt come out to karen until he and will are official. its once again a very standard “mom im gay” thing

• and karen gets all soft and says “it was always will, wasnt it”

•and everyones all soft and weepy because karen has always kind of known, and just wants the best for her boy

• i imagine the exact same thing happens with nancy, but this conversation occurs after the one with karen

BYLER COMING OUT TO THE PARTY

dustin- i think hes a fucking genius dont get me wrong, but if he doesnt know robin is gay, hes not gonna guess mike is gay. byler sits him down and tells him, and then all we get is “ohhhhhhh” and then there are no follow up questions once the dots have been connected

lucas- gets sat down, “we’re dating” and blah blah blah. he’s all accepting and sweet and normal. but im a sucker for platonic byclair, so lucas and will talk alone afterwards. they talk about how wills and mikes feelings developed for each other, and how lucas has seen will struggle for so long, and is just glad to see him happy. “did you have to pick mike tho? i mean you could do better” “LUCAS.”

max- after lucas and will go back inside after their talk. max is there and notices they clearly had some type of heart-to heart. let me just write this out rq

will and lucas: *walk in, tear marks on their cheeks*

max (to will and mike): so did u nitwits finally tell lucas and dustin that yall are dating

mike: who the fuck told you?? *mike is pissed, because this was his time to come out, and he wanted control of the narrative, and someone snitched to max*

el- yall i have no idea. i dont want her to get hurt because im a byler first, but an el stan as a close second. i think she either sees them in the void, or witnesses a romantic moment and just kinda knows. and mike and will know that she knows, but it all stays an unspoken mutual understanding for a while. eventually once the party knows she mentions it more, but shes sweet and i love her and if ANYONE hc’s her as homophobic or jealous we’re officially beefing
