n ive been thinking over it a lot since getting into act 3, ((im not a dnd expert  sooo consider the follow some silly musings I have on her backstory/abilities 🙈)) 

Tldr is-

Dark Eyes is a Mephistopheles tiefling, she used to be a cleric but I changed her class later to an Archfey Warlock, she is an outlander and worships Kelemvor!!

She was born at sea! her parents were human & lived as merchants. They loved her despite her unexpected infernal heritage, they called her 'dark eyes' for her unusual appearance. She had a relatively happy childhood, she always felt at home in far off places. While sailing to the Sword Coast thier ship was capsized by a storm, her parents and the crew died but she survived, washed ashore near a temple dedicated to Kelemvor. From this point on, her life was marked by a quiet melancholy and deep religious fervor. Her near death experience exposed the capricious nature of fate.

she fully embraced the path of a Cleric of Kelemvor and traveled extensively over all of Faerun giving the last rites to the dying and aiding the departed, until the day she met a dying dryad in a forest, taking pity on her she guided its spirit to the realm beyond gaining the favor of the Faerie Queen Titania, ultimately sealing her fate as an Archfey Warlock.

Among the Fey she was reborn as 'Nemeth' a name given to her by her first lover a Leanan sidhe being. Under the guidance of these fey beings, she embraced life with reckless abandoned, danced among dryads in deep elder forests, and sung the songs of the rusalkas. She inspired poets and was the bane of mortal men, she learned to act in accordance to her own whims rather than being a martyr  - to me she is always very fickle and easy to displease, I've had her hex people for saying rude things to her (looking at u lord whitburn) on the surface she is seems distant but she still has a soft heart, where others fight she likes to wait things out, let others expose themselves, charm and decieve (in a way her and Raphael would get a long very well if they weren't enemies in game hehe)

On the gale romance- well, that was a complete accident what can I say his dorkish nature is bewitching!!

they definitely play off each other well!! If it weren't for Gale she really wouldn't be trying so hard to save others. Being a warlock, she knows better than most that, to give into raw power is to become infinetly more vulnerable to the greater beings that wield it- She wants Gale to understand this!! Despite being a warlock, she still gives patronage to Kelemvor, it’s a big reason why she does not like Mystra's influence over Gale - to her Kelemvor is impartial, fair - he doesn't keep his devotees on a leash and does not interfere in mortal affairs, he is the washing away of these things, the cleansing of all desire. She wants Gale to see that his life is his own- only if he lets go! Anyways in my head she and Gale adopted the tiefling Arabella and sent her away to wizard school or whatever the equilvalent is

If you already know this person 1+ years, I would more suggest Composite chart. Because there you will see the real push and pull. Synastry energies are so interchanging and one day you can be doing it, but they the other person can.

But if you are ready for an unsolicited opinion and outlook on this particular synastry...I think this person is a WILD card for you. Like this reminds me of that one person when you meet really young and you kinda have a crush on them, because they seem so confident and charming..and just...so sure of themselves. Honestly I feel you will quickly forget about this person later and not even look back with any regret. I also kind of feel like you idealize them. And that this is very physical attraction on your end.

I don't know, I have to ask now, because I'm sensing it more and more based on looking at the chart, are you still both in high school or even elementary school? I swear, this is giving off that energy. Venus conjunct Mars, I get lust-y feeling, like young love based just on physical attraction, but beyond that, you might just lack mutual interests and overall compatibility. Like you could realize you don't even have that much in common in the end.

That Pluto on the 7th also, are you perhaps a bit older than this person? I sense age difference somewhere here, like it could be just 1, 2 or 3 years and not more. Yeah...Pluto over the 7th in synastry, thanks god it's not closely to Descendant, but yeah, again if you are young, like below 20 in early 20s, I would suggest staying away from these sort of connections, because partnership might largely be based on power struggles and power plays. And this person the blue one can actually see you the red on as highly controlling at some point. Like you are constantly try to influence their decisions. But you just have to accept that this person is highly freedom loving, even free spirited, much more than you, who is more grounded, humble, reserved and cautious. But you can't really change the person for wanting freedom so much, you just need to find someone who as equally appreciates being cautious as you do. So it would be like you are trying to tame them before they fully develop their identity and just overall try to make them more like you are. Not to mention Mars in the 7th in the synastry as well, your connection if a partnership, could burn out too quickly. Or there could be some challanges even getting partnership off the ground to start with. The courting phase can be really prolonged here with Venus in the 7th as well. I think Pluto or just Mars in the 7th is enough on its own, but BOTH being in the 7th, it just doesn't give a good vibe long-term. But you probably really allow a lot of space one another. But if the person has too much freedom, you start to control them. I also feel that you might be attracted to this person due to their bad boy type of attitude and persona. Like they seem so reassured, laid back and naturally charming and confident, that you might just be into that a lot. So the future of this synastry chart doesn't appeal as bright to me, more like relationship of growth or lesson due to Sun in the 9th house and Sun in the 10th house, could be even karmic a bit. Ohh, did you meet in university perhaps now that I see 9th house Sun? I still feel like your identities are developing and keep sensing both being young. Maybe Composite chart looks more stable, but I seriously doubt this would work for a long long time. which is SO TRUE. for me seungcheol has been more of blood-crusted swords and the screech of metal and rubies embedded in war-earned medals. he's more warrior, more medieval, more bruised faces and skinned knuckles

but he's also history, riches, victory, legacy, and i think that's what you an i have both been able to see. he's so... he's so dark red, really, dark like burgundy and maroon and wine and rubies and he's so incredible.

currently watching: just started my adventures with superman. im only a few episodes in but im really enjoying it so far!! it’s really charming and fun and im loving the characterization choices they made

current obsession: blue beetle lol. i didn’t love the recent movie personally but it did remind me how much i like jaime reyes and the blue beetle story, so i rewatched young justice and started a reread of the 2006 comics. the funny blue kid and his murderous bug friend are spinning in my mind all the time rn <3 also im constantly thinking about yellowjackets, forever and ever, rn the team pre-crash and immediately post-rescue in particular. also also ive been listening to like. A Lot of the callous daoboys, i think it counts as an obsession. if u think u would be interested in mathcore that doesn’t take itself too seriously but also has some of the most engaging and emotionally gut-wrenching lyrics ive heard in a long time, would strongly recommend!! it’s simultaneously fun and disorienting and a little painful to listen to

It's not that he's against it or anything, just, why would you? He won't say it out loud, but he can't really find anything good about being like that. He knows he doesn't like it -- The way he looks in the water.

The way your eyes light up when you talk about it gets to him, though, and his face goes all red as you excitedly talk about all the cool things he must be able to do underwater.

You see, Azul is a big overthinker in general, and crushing on someone makes that habit of his even stronger -- Every word you say about this will be swirling in his head for a while. He gets all sort of ideas of how he could go about this situation.

An expressive part of his doesn't understand why you'd want to take on such a form, even temporarily, and another tells him that once you do experiment with having it, you'll be disgusted by it, and then disgusted by him in the process.

But your excitement really charms him. He won't come to you with it right away but, sometime after the conversation, Azul approaches you with a bottle held tightly in his hands -- And with a little more of a nervous hint to his voice, tells you it's a potion that'll let you take on that form for a day, just like you wanted.

He's a bit anxious once you're underwater, but he'll do his best to show you the ropes -- And, he hopes to take you to see these really nice corals, too...

No mulling over the idea and its repercussions and meanings, he won't care about that. All that matters is that you must think he's so cool to want something like this, and that gets his heart racing like crazy.

Possibly just... grabs you the second you mention it and runs to Azul to break the news, like you're getting married or something, except he's just asking him to get you a transformation potion.

He can't help it, he's just really excited about it! He'll show you all the coolest places underwater, it'll be like a date!! He'll say that out loud by the way.

Floyd can get pretty cheerful, but this amount of energy is rare even to him -- If you didn't know he liked you before, you definitely will now.

When you go underwater, he holds your hands as he tells you the ins and outs of swimming in an eel body, rows of sharp teeth gleaming as he grins. He has a lot of fun when he's like this, and he hopes you do too!

Will try to race you or something, also, and tease you endlessly when you inevitably lose. It's nothing malicious though.

random headcanon

he was raised in a conservative catholic household. this may raise some eyebrows, but i see it in his GIGANTIC guilt/martyr complex. i have never seen a character more willing to die for others at the slightest provocation. also, the way all the alien's that read his subconscious say that he "tortures himself every day" over what he perceives to be personal failures screams catholic guilt to me. that, and his biggest fear is himself. not to mention, that boy does not know how to function when he's being hugged. casual intimacy does not seem to be in his lexicon, outside of actual sex.

also, he had feelings for holland, but was content to go the rest of his life never saying anything or doing anything about it. something to acknowledge about himself once, then bury and try to never think about again. but then holland died. so it didn't matter anymore, anyways. (in vegas, john had feelings for the nurse he disobeyed orders to try and save and PARALLELING THAT WITH IN CANON EVENTS RE: HOLLAND'S BOTCHED RESCUE ARE JUST TOO GOOD TO RESIST)

SUMMARY: charlie takes co-star and girlfriend y/n home for christmas but that leads to self doubt in her (im so bad at these) [note: this takes place in 2021]

    As Charlie pulls out the key from the ignition, I sigh, wringing my hands nervously. He unbuckles his seatbelt and faces me, giving me a bright, happy smile.

  “My family is so excited to meet you.” He says, reaching forward to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear.

  “What if they hate me?” I whisper.

  My boyfriend, Charlie, and I first met on the set of Charmed – we were both in the first episode, but I left it after that due to scheduling conflicts with my other show, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. I had been a part of CAOS since its first episode – I played the role of Sabrina’s cousin, Sarah Spellman.

  Back then, we were just friends. After I left Charmed, we would text and call each other occasionally. Whenever we were in the same city, we would meet up – but that was hard considering we both had quite different lives. So, we didn’t think of each other as more than friends – sure I thought that he was attractive, but that’s it.

  But, in 2020, after CAOS was cancelled, I got a call from the casting director of Julie and The Phantoms: she was the one who had previously cast me in CAOS, and she believed that I’d be perfect for the role of Julie’s British cousin who joins her school after her parents relocate to LA – I also play Reggie’s love interest.

  I texted Charlie immediately after my manager finalized all the details for the new role. He had been excited and when shooting started in 2021, we were pretty inseparable.

  After a few weeks, I had developed a major crush on him ad the rest of the cast had also picked up on that. They were also convinced that Charlie liked me (which I didn’t believe at that time but later found out that it was, indeed, true) and they used to tease us about it all the time. Finally, a couple weeks before production ended, he asked me out on a date and it’s been really, really great so far.

  We’ve been dating for about nine months now and honestly, he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. He’s my home – all my life I’ve always felt lost, but I feel like I truly belong with him.

  Now, he laughs. “Baby. I promise you – they already love you. My mother’s been bugging me to bring you home ever since we started dating, and you’ve already met Megan, and she loves you.”

  “If you say so.” I say, still not convinced.

  He grins and we get out of his car and face his childhood home. I take a deep breath, shaking off my nerves. He knocks three times on the front door, and it opens immediately after.

  A petite, blonde woman steps out, with a wide smile on her face. She opens her arms as Charlie yells, “Mamacita!”

  “Mon chéri. Ça fait trop longtemps!”

  “Je vous ai manqué!”

  I have absolutely no idea what they are saying, but the scene in front of me is so heart-warming. Charlie’s mother is genuinely happy to see her son – one can tell by the way she’s holding him, almost like he’s a little child. Charlie is quite a couple inches taller than her, but he’s nestled his face into her shoulder.

  I can’t stop a grin from breaking out on my face. It’s honestly rather lovely. But I also feel a slight pang in my heart knowing that no one ever greets me like this when I go home.

  They separate from each other and she squeezes his shoulders, looking at him with so much love that I have to look away. I have never seen a mother look at their child like that, with such intense love. That’s dumb, I know. Mothers are supposed to love their children. But all my mother ever looks at me with is disappointment, anger, disgust, and – you get it.

  She notices me next and claps her hands. “You must be Y/N!”

  “Hi, Mrs. Gillespie. It’s so nice to meet you!” I extend a hand toward her.

  “Aw, come here! You’re gorgeous.”

  She pulls me in for a hug too, and for a moment I’m engulfed by the smell of white musk and the feeling of warmth.

  We pull apart and I smile at her, genuinely. All my anxiety has washed away.

  “My son is always talking about you, about how pretty you are and –”

  “Let’s go inside!” Charlie quickly cuts her off, eyes widened as I laugh.

  “But I wanna know what he says!”

  Mrs Gillespie winks at me as Charlie turns scarlet. “I’ll tell you when he’s gone.”

    Another roar of laughter erupts around the dinner table.

  Honestly, I’ve never seen a family like this – a family so connected, so loving. All of Charlie’s siblings – from his three older brothers to his little sister are here for Christmas Eve, and all of them are teasing each other, telling childhood stories, and just having the best time. I was, too. That was until I suddenly realized how I don’t fit in here.

  Everyone here grew up completely different than I did. When I was young, about two years old – my dad left my mom and I for another woman. I haven’t seen him since – although, he sends me a postcard and some money on holidays and birthdays. He’s travelling around the world with his new wife and is apparently ‘happier than he’s ever been.’

  The reason he left is because kids ‘freak’ him out and he isn’t ‘ready’ for that kind of responsibility. I mean, it wasn’t like he was fifteen when he had me: he was twenty-seven, and already married to my mother for about two years then.

  Naturally, my mother blames me for her divorce. I was born out of an accidental pregnancy, so my mother made sure to remind me every day that I was unwanted, and my birth was what ‘pushed’ him to leave us. Every single day, my mother told me that I shouldn’t have been born, that I was a mistake, that I was worthless, unlovable and so, so many more horrible things. She used to drink like crazy, and if I accidentally faced her in that state, she would sometimes hit me.

  Years and years of abuse and all that childhood trauma led me to develop a fear of abandonment, trust issues, intimacy issues, anxiety, and depression. Throughout school, I had been closed off, unable to form relationships and friendships with other people. I had feared anything and everything – I couldn’t even maintain eye contact with people.

  Of course, when I auditioned for CAOS and moved away to LA, away from that toxic environment, I got help and turned my life around. (My mother was incredibly happy to see me go since she had married another guy and now has a family with him – so I was the only thing left that reminded her of my father.) I learnt to accept, prioritize, and love myself – but I’m still working on that, of course.

  But, I know, deep down, no matter how well I am, or how happy I am – there will always be a part of me that’s broken. I’ve grown to accept that, accept the fact that I’ll always carry the trauma with me.

  But Charlie doesn’t. He’s lived a good life, and he deserves someone who can give him their everything – and that’s not me.

  As much as I hate to say it, I’m not good enough for him.

  He senses a change in my demeanour and squeezes my hand under the table. I give him a weak smile.

    “Y/N/N, what’s wrong?”

  I look up at my boyfriend. He has a look of concern on his face as he takes a seat next to me on the couch.

  I sigh into the quiet. Everyone has fallen asleep, except Charlie and I – we are seated in his living room in front of the fireplace.

  “Nothing. I’m just really tired.”

  “That’s not true, Y/N. You were fine throughout dinner – oh my god, it’s the ice cream, isn’t it?”

  “What?”

  “The pistachio ice cream that Maman made. It was weirdly bitter, eh? It’s okay, you can tell me.”

  I purse my lips. “No, Charlie. The ice cream was great.”

  “Are you sure? You’ve been down since desert.”

  “It’s not the ice cream, babe.”

  “Okay, then, what is it?”

  He looks at me expectantly, and I can sense that he’s feeling anxious.

  “I just – I realized that I don’t fit in.”

  He furrows his brows, but before he can say anything, I start speaking again. “Charlie, you have such a loving and perfect family. And you know how I grew up. What I went through. So, you know that I’m not used to this. I’m not – I’ve never seen love like this in a family, you know. And I don’t fit in here! While your mother was being so nice to me, I kept wondering when she’s going to scream at me. Or when your father was genuinely interested in me, I kept thinking that maybe he’s trying to find a way to get rid of me. It’s just – it’s just the way I grew up, and I’ll always be like this, Char. Your family is so nice, and it shocks me, honestly. And I think that maybe it’s better if you date someone who grew up the way you did, someone who’s like you. Because I have been broken my whole life, and I don’t think that I can give you everything that you need. I don’t think I’m good enough for you. You’re the best person that I’ve ever met, and I think you should be with someone who’s worthy of you.”

  I whisper the last part, and feel a teardrop fall into the space between my collarbones. I look down because I’m too afraid of what he might say.

  I hear him breathe out heavily and I feel him take my hands in his.

  “Don’t you ever say that.”

  “But it’s true –”

  “Y/N. Don’t you dare doubt yourself. You are good enough. No, you’re perfect. You’re the strongest woman I know. I completely understand why you feel what you’re feeling right now.”

  He scoots closer to me and cups my cheeks in his hands. “And it’s okay. It’s okay to feel that way. It’s okay to feel shocked. That doesn’t make you a bad person, nor does it make you not good enough. In fact, it makes all the stronger – you went through so much as a kid, and still, you have space in your heart for me. You know, I never doubt the fact that you love me, ever. Because you always make me feel special, make me feel good about myself and always make sure that I’m happy. You always go out of your way to take care of me, and you always make me feel at home. I don’t want anyone other than you. I love you so much and I never, ever wanna lose you.”

  I think I’m fully crying now, as Charlie continues, “It’s okay to feel that way. Take your time. But I’m never leaving you. You’re my person, and you’ll always fit in with me, baby. Always.”

  “Charlie…”

  I look at him properly, and I can see the pain in his eyes as a tear traces along the curve of his cheek. He sniffs, saying, “I’m sorry. I just can’t imagine being with anyone other than you.”

  “Why are you so good to me?” I whisper, my throat still tight from the emotions.

  “Because you deserve someone good, and I can only hope that I’m good for you.”

  I wrap my arms around his neck and bury my face in his shoulder as a sob escapes my body. “I’m so sorry, baby. So, so sorry.” I keep whispering that, while he rubs my back, saying ‘it’s okay.’

  “I love you so much, Charlie. Honestly, thanks for being so good to me. You have no idea what you mean to me.”

  I can feel him smile as he says, “I think I have a pretty good idea, yeah.”

omg that's so fun what play are u seeing! the only reasons ive ever been to london is like, play, art gallery, school trip, or job interview dhigdhfg like its definitely not the first on my list as just a place to hang out tbh but theres obv loads of good stuff going on there :). it depends what ur into specifically like i like nature and history and museums so i usually prefer smaller cities that are historic etc. most of my fav places are up north which is probably too far for u to travel, but of the more southern places, everyone says norwich is lovely and its got that like charming quaint english feel tourists love dhudgf (<2h train frm london), bath annoys me bc its so posh but its got like a roman bathhouse that i saw as a child n was VERY excited by. if u go to oxford (<1h train) u can look around the uni buildings and libraries and stuff + the ashmolean museum there has an amazing collection of art and stuff from all over the world (that they shouldnt have in the first place but u may as well go look at it ���). also, glastonbury isnt a city + doesnt have a train station so you'd have to get a train then a bus but i looooved it there, it's super hippie and full of neopagans or whatever but its just mad and fun there was a great market and loads of cool places to eat when i went + its pretty around too and u can climb up a big hill to see the tor. thats like the only southern place ive visited that im keen to revisit honestly. bristol + brighton are both reeeeally not my cup of tea but theyre like quirky studenty places that are good for thrifting and music and stuff like that so id imagine you'd probably enjoy it even though i hate it due to the people and vibe dfhidgf if u dont mind travelling further afield or ur interested in nature spots to visit feel free to ask abt that as well + ill leave the comments open if anyone whos more familiar w the south has anything to add<3

omggg thank you for asking :3 this is long sorry i haven’t organised my thoughts about them yet ahjfklsa but here we go

before i can talk abt rain n evie i have to explain the universe with kes, amaya, and rio. im sure you remember them :3 but umm you said they were based on pacific rim and i don’t know anything abt pacific rim fhjlafnj sooo i made a bunch of stuff up. soooo there’s a parallel universe/alternate dimension full of people and like, monsters. the alt. universe people r testing ways to break into our dimension and open the door permanently so that both dimensions are their domain. the... city...? that the story is set in is like a capitalists’s dream, split harshly between rich and poor with no middle class. the poor faction of the city that will be named soon is the one responsible for keeping the other-dimension-ers out of our dimension, most if not all of them are responsible in some way for keeping their area safe from those tears in the ozone layer. they in return are given technology, money, and supplies from the rich faction. those guys do next to nothing, they operate like any other city where everyone has jobs and pays their dues to the government. they are very strict about who they let into the city; they don’t want outsiders to know about their dimension problem lest they stop the warriors from doing their jobs or do something to make the tear bigger etc etc. they also don’t want poor people in the city, even if they’re responsible for everyone’s safety. I’m thinking of making the story a really obvious allegory similar to older-fashioned dystopian novels like animal farm and brave new world because i’m obsessed with those in concept. so i think supporting characters will be one-dimensional caricatures of types of people in society, and only the MCs will have nuance. this also makes it easier for me to write side characters ;3

so kestrel and amaya are siblings mostly born and raised into monster-fighting. you know when there’s a factory or whatever in town that most people in that city work at? there’s one of those but it’s like... a firehouse for monster fighting. they mostly live and sleep there, they’re fed and clothed here for free so long as they fight and they’re both content with that. I’m not sure what happened to their parents yet but they’re probably dead. not everyone’s parents are dead, some people have families that they live with at the... compound, these two are just tragic and whatnot. families are encouraged to fight together in duos or trios so that loyalty makes them fight smarter and harder to protect each other. when they’re not at the compound, like if they have shifts off or whatever, they live in an abandoned subway station and steal power from the government who’s unaware that that track is unused 😌

so as far as them as individuals, i kept the planets that u based them off of :3 kestrel is based off mars and mars is the planet of action, energy, motivation, temper. kestrel is moody and temperamental, but their choices are never made without careful consideration. they’re a quick thinker and that makes them confident, so they never back down from a challenge. they have a hard time masking their emotions and it’s easy to see what’s going on in their head. they’re hard to embarrass, though, and they’re very confident in most of their assertions. they’re impatient and crabby, but they aren’t at all shy.

amaya is based off venus, so she’s more emotionally rounded than her sibling and more interested in the poetry of life. she’s very expressive and polite, and she has a thing abt maintaining her image. she’s a bit materialistic and self-centred, focused on her looks and her space, but she’s realistic in her material n sensual desires because al things considered she lives in a subway station. she knows what to expect from life, or at least she thinks she does, and is just as confident in her own assertions as kestrel. she’s stubborn and argumentative for that reason, but her confidence makes her a natural leader and people flock to her for advice and assistance. she loves this.

and adrion, based off earth, comes into their lives later. rio used to live on the rich side of town until a second dimension creature escapes the notice of the warriors (i swear they won’t actually be called “warriors” forever 😭) and destroys his part of the city. his family is alright, but the destruction makes him feel like he could do a better job than whoever’s currently there. he leaves his family to join up with the. the compound, and when asked to find a partner to fight with, chooses amaya and kestrel because they’re a top-of-their-class team who are always talking about how things could be better. at first, they don’t want him bc they’re lone wolves and they do not like to be told what to do. but he’s a tough fighter and he’s got the motivation to be good, so they let him stay on the team. as far as personality, rio is really chill and understanding, often willing to let other people’s faults slide. as long as he’s allowed to do what he wants to do, other people can have their way. he’s cheerier than the other two but he’s quieter and more in-the-background. his strong will makes him sensitive and he refuses to change his mind often because he’s quite naive and gullible, making him easy to trick and take advantage of which makes him insecure. this makes him prone to snapping when people put pressure on him.

now for rain and evie. i originally created them as prototypes for their own narrative but the story seemed really similar to my other stuff so i scrapped it BUT i thought the characters themselves worked in this story instead so i kept them :3. rain and evie are brothers who were initially raised in a fighting ring. they live on the poor side of town but they never worked for the compound. they make a living by gladiator fighting, people pay to come in and bet on them and obviously they’re paid for winning fights. rain is an extremely adept fighter and usually manages to beat opponents with brute strength. evie is smaller and less physical and usually fights by using the opponent’s strength against them. they’re simultaneously popular and unpopular in their neighbourhood as they’re like. cool for being good in the ring but they’re really weird otherwise. they’re aggressive, angry and irrational, they act like they’re always in the ring. rain is more sociable and capable than evie, who tends to be reactive and angry. he doesn’t want to be here, but rain is more content in his abilities, so he handles mostly everything so that evie doesn’t have to be responsible for anything. they end up moving on from the ring after evie takes on an opponent that rain tried to tell everyone that he could never beat. evie takes a violent blow to the head that leaves him comatose, and rain spends a huge chunk of money for a piece of technology that replaces the damaged areas of evie’s head and functions in its place. no one tells rain, though, that the thing he put in evie’s head is technology from the other dimension. after the two leave the ring, they decide to make themselves useful and fight the monsters that forced them into this life in the first place.

personality-wise, rain is a laid-back, go-with-the-flow kind of guy. he likes to let things take their course and he isn’t much concerned with proceedings outside of himself and evie. he purposefully denies himself negative emotion and usually tries to fake that everything is good all the time. despite this, he’s emotional and reactive and extremely defensive. he doesn’t like to be challenged or made unhappy and in his dream world he and evie are always just hanging out doing what they want and not having to answer to anyone. people often find him charming bc he’s able to finagle most situations into him getting his way, he’s exceptional with people but he doesn’t like them.

evie is more sullen and droopy. he almost always lets rain do all the talking and he usually appears unconcerned with most goings-on because he’s letting rain evaluate the situation. he’s usually inside his own head, daydreaming or fussing. most of his interactions with others are verbal or physical fights bc he’s unsure how to manage himself without rain around and is often willing to fight for whatever he thinks rain would want. he’s independent outside of that, doesn’t like to be told what to do or how to act. not even rain can calm him down when he’s on his soapbox because he truly believes that if he had to grow up a fighting dog he should be allowed to do whatever the fuck he wants. in downtime he’s usually a little bit more uppity than rain but still similarly laid-back and willing to act like things are okay.

the five of these characters r in the same universe and they go on missions together often, though kes and amaya don’t really get along with rain and evie because they’re all so stubborn.

next are niko and andre, who i got from sammy! we got urban fantasy going on here, and i’m thinking of setting it in like. the mid 1800-s. i’m feeling spicy. umm so i think the key thing about this universe is that “hunters” are a species of humanoid monster. this world is spinning with vampires, werewolves, faeries, demons, etc. pretending to be human in order to survive, and hunters are a mimic species that look human but just... aren’t. they have an insatiable desire to hunt and kill (used to be for food but humans make food more easily accessible), but killing humans makes them vulnerable to being found out. killing other monsters is the perfect substitute, plus humans praise them for it. they’re onto each other but they can’t make scenes in human society so they have to dance around each other to do all of their killing in secret.

andre is a hunter living in the shadow of his older sister, angel. she’s a better, more ruthless hunter than he is, with stronger instincts and a greater prey drive. she’s popular with people in town and generally just more charismatic. he really wants to be like her, but he’s klutzy and insecure and his instincts are poor cuz he overthinks them. one day he comes across niko in a bar and, perceiving him to be human bc he has 0 instincts, they get their flirt on. until niko says something that makes andre realise he’s a vampire. embarrassed and ashamed of his attraction, andre tries to turn his feeling of betrayal into murderous instinct, and he can turn that anger into his first solo kill. niko keeps chasing after andre trying to catch his non-murderous attention because he actually really likes him and doesn’t want to let what they are get in their way.

personality wise, niko is a noisy little wisecracker who likes to be popular. he’s a genuinely nice guy and is famous wherever he goes for being wise and helpful. he’s usually pretty optimistic and very charming, especially in bigger crowds where he can fit in. he can be purposefully oblivious and is very good at disguising his feelings and intentions. he’s witty and sarcastic, often masking negativity for the sake of keeping it light.

andre is a straightforward intellectual type who likes to work and create and achieve. he’s intelligent and steadfast and always strives to do his best (which is why being terrible at hunting is upsetting for him). making achievements kind of replaces his understanding of himself, and not being good at things really digs at his self-worth. he’s not much of a people person but he’s not really shy, either. he’s polite and good-natured, though his feelings are quite fragile.

next generation, same universe, next is honour (whose name HAS to be spelled with the u), journey, and solace. resident throuple. honour and solace are hunters, and journey is human. honour was raised in a big home with lots of hunters under the iron fist of like, the mean nursemaid from annie. they hunt monsters as an organised group, but its a violent institution that doesn’t believe in autonomy nor the worth of human lives. humans exist as something to blend into while they exterminate all other monsters. honour stops believing this when she gets older, mostly due to meeting journey. she assumes journey is just going to be vapid and goofy bc he’s a human, but he ends up being a really cool dude who’s just as in-depth as her and she begins to realise how terrible the lessons she was raised on are.

journey’s family were aware that they were often surrounded by monsters and as such were very protective of him and his siblings. journey never gets to go out and do things, and being stuck in the stuffy comfort of his home is not what he wants to do with his life when he knows there are monsters out there. when he and honour hit it off, they decide to run away together, deciding to shed their upbringings entirely by changing their names to the things they want most.

i set this in the 1800s JUST so that i could have honour and journey use the train to run away. not nice public transit trains, i mean they are riding the dirty rusty rails to seek a better life. they intend to ride a long time to make sure that they’re never recognised. on one of the trains they catch to head north, they come across solace, helping him onto the train as he got there a split second too late to catch it. despite his initial gratitude, solace is unpleasant to ride with. turns out he’s been on the run for most of his life and is just trying to find a place to stay where no one will care that he’s a hunter. in human-only societies hunters are known as mimics and are heavily discriminated against if you’re suspected of being one and straight up killed if you are. after living an uncomfortable life and seeing his father killed, solace decides to go from town to town until he finds a place that’s mostly hunters. when honour reveals they’re looking for the same thing, solace decides to go with them. he’s hesitant to give up his name because it was given to him by his parents, but ultimately he wants to leave that life behind and embody comfort and. yk. solace.

and lastly my warriors ocs! I decided to make regular fanclans as opposed to using my existing ocs in an au mostly because i didn’t wanna add in random npcs (as it were) to fill the nursery and elder’s den even tho those r important to clan life. so, i made separate ocs, they live in the arctic! summitclan in the mountains, tundraclan in the plains, and glacierclan by the. glacier. the story so far is a murder mystery, cats of all clans are being killed and going missing and no one knows why. while most warriors assume there’s a bear or fox hanging around the territories, the apprentices saw something while they were hanging out that made them decide to investigate deeper...

our mc is snowpaw, a repurposed rp oc fjdkfjld;af. he’s a summitclan cat and he’s known to be strange and standoffish. he seems cold and apathetic about almost everything and it’s hard to see what he enjoys and dislikes. his secretiveness makes it easy for him to investigate the murders, no one ever questions where snowpaw is going or what he’s doing. with his friends and family snowpaw is a little more jovial, he has very dry humour and is also always trying to help

crowpaw is a tundraclan cat. he’s stuck up and big-mouthed, very arrogant little know it all. don’t ever tell him that, though, bc he’s very sensitive and he will cry. he likes to be seen as the best at everything so he dedicates excess time to learning and is actually a very curious and adventurous cat underneath.

swiftpaw is a glacierclan cat. he’s very mature and is often rumoured to be a great deputy choice when he’s old enough. he’s calm and level-headed, a quick-thinking problem solver with a bit of a superiority complex but not one that anyone in his life would be aware of bc he’s so darn polite. the warrior code is important to him and so are rules of daily clan life that reduce conflict in any way.

teapaw is also a glacierclan cat. she, like snowpaw, is a little bit quiet and secretive, the kind of person (..?) that kinda lurks in the back of important things going on rather than offering her voice. she’s a healer’s apprentice and takes a lot of pride in being effective and efficient with all her duties. she’s curious and observant, and shes good friends with her clan’s seer, deadhawk (i split the medicine cat position into two for these clans, healers do doctor stuff, seers talk to starclan), so she tends to be up to date w what starclan says, which helps her and her friends w their mystery.

and finally, breezepaw! he’s a summitclan cat and snowpaw’s bff. he’s kinda clueless and distractable, very much a follower personality as he likes others to decide what’s important for him to do. he’s a quiet cat, but he’s not afraid to speak his mind when the time comes. kinda a goofy jokester dude, but he knows how to read a room and keep quiet when he doesn’t know what to contribute and jokes won’t help. he likes snowpaw because snowpaw’s always confident in what he’s doing and never clowns on breezepaw for not knowing wtf is going on

My fanmade akumas are of Marc and Nathaniel! I have a whole story made for them!

They are based of Apollo and Hyacinth, gay lovers in ancient Greece!! 

Marc is based off Apollo (Akuma name: Solios)

And Nath is based of Hyacinth! (Akuma name: Lumight) He is specifically based off the flower the Summer Hyacinth (Hence, Lumight)

They were akumatized together. They are 2 separate people unlike Oblivio. They have their own thoughts and feelings and attacks.

I had some trouble coming up with their powers but. 

Marc has a guitar because Apollo is god of music and all. So he uses that to attack, but he needs Nathaniel to help him make the attack have affect,

Nath is a lot more flower based. So basically, he like, throws hyacinth petals in air and Marc strums the guitar and anyone in the radius of noise is kinda just, trapped in vines and leaves. It is like freeze tag except your stuck until ladybug does her thing

They got akumatized cause they were doing a class project on taking care of a flower (they got a hyacinth to take care of) and someone broke their flower pot and their flower just, crumpled, and died. it was just a random person (like a BG character or something)

and they were mad so akuma time! and hawkmoth was a dick and akumatized them. 

I still need to think up a lucky charm and a final climax scene but yea! that is it so far! I plan on posting Marc and Nath’s akuma designs soon!! (also the whole akuma thing and fight scenes will/should have some romantic rainbow tomato so yea!)

i’ve been really lucky to get to work with my girlfriend making this because she had years of experience drawing + writing the webcomic bad bad things before we started, so a lot of this stuff i learned from her

heres the big tips that i’ve got (mostly relevant to narrative comics cuz that’s the vast majority of what i make):

1. don’t feel like you have to plan absolutely everything out before you start. have a solid roadmap so you don’t get lost in the weeds and have a clear plan of your major plot points/character arcs/ending, but a big part of the fun of publishing a comic serially is being able to keep things spontaneous and interesting, especially for yourself. you have the freedom to take things in new directions whenever you want to, so you should embrace that and go with the flow!

2. once you’ve started publishing your comic, read it! i know a lot of authors/artists/filmmakers like to just put art out there and never revisit it, but i think it’s essential to get the audience’s perspective of your work so you can get a better idea of your best approach moving forward. art is one thing in your head and a whole other thing when you’ve actually made it, so it’s possible that characters, relationships, environments, plot points, etc may not be on the page what you imagine them as in your head. it’s a great way to see what you’re doing right and what you may need to improve on next time

3. don’t worry about making it perfect. webcomics are a time sensitive thing if you want to actually get through them to the end in your lifetime, so you’re going to have to let go of extreme perfectionism and learn to love the little flaws and errors inherent to the process. there’s a lot of earnest charm and emotional honesty that you can lose by overworking art and turning it into a flat pruned product with all the bumps smoothed out, and honestly you just don’t have time for too much polish. you’re better off in every way by learning to say “yknow what? good enough”

4. dive in and start making comics right now! there’s no amount of research and theorizing and analyzing other comics that can give you the skill that actually making comics teaches you. even if your big webcomic idea isn’t quite developed enough for you to start it, try making other smaller comics first so you can learn the ropes. you gotta get a feel for the visual storytelling and word/image dynamics essential to comics, and you can only do that through practise

in terms of websites, i’ve been all across the board with that one. originally the comic was on a smackjeeves website before they decided to no longer allow people to create custom comic pages, so we moved to our own wordpress website which i struggled with somewhat because the comic plugins available were not very user friendly. we’ve since moved to using a customized template on comic fury and i really have to recommend their platform, its got basically every tool i’ve needed or wanted so far and it’s clearly a labour of love for the people running it who are also super nice and friendly if you ever have any questions or issues. they’ve got basic templates that are easy to edit, but you can also fuck with the html as much as you want.

that’s all i’ve got for now, i hope any of this was helpful! i am by no means an expert but I’ve learned so much making devils territory and i’m very happy to share it. feel free to ignore any of this if it doesn’t vibe with you for whatever reason, because this is just what’s worked for me. good luck with your comic, and also make sure to send me a link when you start publishing it!
