Fatphobia is when Doug Walker (skinny) gets people to reference his review persona in cartoons in spite of being guilty of numerous borderline felonies along with his brother & manager, but Lewis Lovhaug (fat) gets harassed for views he hasn't held since the last decade, bullied for corny bad comics he made in 00s while being barely out of high school & put in cringe comps for not reacting placidly to the shit other people pull on him for no reason

April 2008. Doug Walker launches That Guy with the Glasses to host his video series, The Nostalgia Critic.

Doug and the website staff have ambitions of making it a site for multiple producers to host videos of a similar strain. Two of these will be Lindsay “The Nostalgia Chick” Ellis and Paul “PawDugan” Schuler. Lindsay’s roommate, Elisa Hansen, appears in her Nostalgia Chick videos before eventually starting her own series on the website under the name “Maven of the Eventide”.

Elisa and Paul meet and film several videos together. They start dating, and in November of 2012 announce that they’re engaged. They get married in October of 2013, and their son, Grey Ingram Hansen-Schuler, is born on August 13, 2014.

Which means that there’s at least one person on this planet who exists because of the Nostalgia Critic

Arguably, being in the TGWTG fandom for 4 years & watching it collapse during and after Change the Channel was what eventually led me to study anthropology
