Fuck it we going to make this short. Jaune is the Odyessus of RWBY.
Don’t believe it. Let’s do this.
Exhibit A: Pyrrha and Athena
Tumblr media
Both are smart. Have won tournaments. Both wield a spear and a shield as primary weapons. They both have taught someone how to fight. Even giving praise to them sometimes. Even though Atheana is immortal it still doesn’t change their similarities.
Exhibit B: Jaune and Odyessus
Both characters do not fight well. They are cunning. They will do whatever it takes to win. Even through underhanded tactics. And they are both hated by the world. Don’t believe me.
Exhibit C
Odysseus and Jaune were trapped on an island for years. Bedding outside forces to escape.
Tumblr media
Exhibit D
Both lost friends and allies due to the said allies not listening to them or doing their own thing.
Tumblr media
Oh and those underhanded tactics;
Exhibit E
Jaune cheated into Beacon despite not nearly being on anyone's level. Then we have Cinder who he…
Tumblr media
Yeah, we know he is willing to kill this woman by any means.
Or how was willing to steal from the Atlas military?
Tumblr media
Despite the holes in the plan it still worked out in the end.
Then when Jaune, Ren, and Yang were captured, Jaune used the war to go get Oscar and when the dust settled they got away.
Tumblr media
And though it hurt him he still killed Penny and more lives were saved for it.
Tumblr media
And using the leaves to separate the Cat from Neo.
Tumblr media
Then Odysseus;
 Using Moly to fight Circe
Tumblr media
Uses wine on Cyclops to put it to sleep and stabs its eye.
Tumblr media
Sacrificing his crew to save himself and others.
Tumblr media
And finally, dress as a beggar to kill Penelope’s suitors.
Tumblr media
And this four. Not counting the other things he’s done to win.
My point? Trust me, when I say, Jaune is the smartest character in RWBY. He is the MVP of the show. The biggest factor. He is the Oddyssus of the show.
Also, if there is going to be volume ten involving Jaune, then Gillian, Jax, and probably Tyrian are dead. Gillian’s semblance is to drain aura away from her opponents. She’s also cunning, and if she is willing to pull any tactic, she will make her dreams come true by all means. Jaune, who has amplification and has been fighting for years, not only counters her semblance but is equally as devious as her.
And then Jax's semblance involves him taking your will- Dominating your soul through suggestion in the mind. Jaune who already survived the Ever After, is one place that messes with your subconscious the most.  Has more experience at using a sword. And has a stronger will than Jax does.
And Tyrian…. Yeah, we all know I want a Jaune vs Tyrian fight. Let’s not be surprised.
I’m not saying the fight will be easy… but I’m just saying… Jaune got it.

Lin Kuei vs Shirai Ryu characters and teaching/training outsiders
Kuai Liang as Sub-Zero
Sheeva: What can the Lin Kuei teach the Shokan? Sub-Zero: The art of stealth and surprise. Sheeva: Enemies should be met head on.
Jax: So the Lin Kuei train Special Forces. I'll be. Sub-Zero: It was at General Blade's request. Jax: General Blade. Still not used to that.
Spawn: Ready to freeze Ten Hells over? Sub-Zero: First, we must train together. Spawn: Training's over. Time for assholes to die.
Sub-Zero: Back for another training mission? Cassie Cage: Gonna kick your ass in a snowball fight. Sub-Zero: I doubt that.
Jacqui: I've got new gear to test. Sub-Zero: Want to know if it's cold-proof? Jacqui: Let's find out.
Bi-Han as Noob Saibot (MK11 intro dialogues)
Noob Saibot: I could make you the perfect killer. Terminator: By improving my programming? Noob Saibot: By teaching you to embrace darkness.
Mileena: Out of the shadows, Bi-Han? Noob Saibot: To teach you the power of darkness. Mileena: My father has already taught me.
Frost (MK11 intro dialogues)
Frost: I can train you in the assassin's art. Sindel: Dear, I'm several millennia your senior. Frost: Which hasn't made you wiser.
Hanzo as Scorpion (MK11 intro dialogues)
Jacqui: Any chance of a Shirai Ryu training mission? Scorpion: Training outsiders is Sub-Zero's passion. Jacqui: Huh. Takeda thought you'd be interested.
Erron Black: Don't s'pose you'd teach me that rope spear. Scorpion: And divulge Shirai Ryu secrets? Erron Black: I can make you share, Scorpion.
Kuai Liang as Scorpion (MK1 intro dialogues)
Kenshi: Why won't you help train the Taira? Scorpion: The Shirai Ryu's methods aren't to be shared.
Johnny Cage: Now what's the harm in me riding along? Scorpion: The Shirai Ryu's secrets must remain so, Cage.
Ashrah: I'd do well to follow your example. Scorpion: Then start by studying my kombat.
Raiden: You honor me with this lesson. Scorpion: Pay attention. There is much to learn.
Tomas as Smoke (MK1 intro dialogues)
Smoke: "Let's go, Kung Lao. Liu Kang wants us to do this." Kung Lao: "What could this fight possibly teach me?"
Smoke: "Sareena wants to train with us." Ashrah: "She has good taste in instructors."

Nia Jax - 28.7%
Nasty Boys - 7.1%
Average smash rating this week: 51.9%
More stats under the cut, along with my observations, commentary, and some of my favorite tags...
Most total votes this week (most enthusiasm)
Nick Wayne - 397 votes
Dominik Mysterio - 371
Shayna Baszler - 244
Nia Jax - 230
Santos Escobar - 227
And least total votes this week (least enthusiasm)
Ryusuke Taguchi - 149 votes
Bollywood Boyz/Singh Brothers - 164
Lash Legend - 173
Killer Kelly - 181
Jordynne Grace - 193
The closest poll was Bollywood Boyz/Singh Brothers, who lost 73-91.
Bottom Ten Overall
Vince McMahon - 3.9% smash
Ric Flair - 4.6% smash
Nasty Boys - 7.1% smash
Kane (Corporate variant) - 10.1% smash
Miracle Violence Connection - 11.8% smash

Carmella - 47.8% smash
Nikkita Lyons - 48.2% smash
Julia Hart (Cheerleader Variant) - 49.8% smash
With an average smash rate of 51.0%, this is the lowest-scoring week yet. The overall average smash rate currently sits at 58.9%, and the previous low score was allllllll the way back in Week 1, at 52.6% average smash rate.
We also got two changes to the overall rankings: Nasty Boys made it to No. 3 on the Bottom Ten Overall list, and Nia Jax was voted the least smashable woman so far. There are still 31 men considered less smashable than her, but it's a major accomplishment to be the first woman to score significantly under 50%.
In happier news, someone finally requested one of my personal blorbos: Angelico. It has been agonizing waiting for him to be requested, so thank you to whoever sent him in. Now to see how long it takes for someone to request my other blorbo...
Rey Mysterio is more smashable than his son Dominik, 64.9% to 58.0%. Dom got 149 more votes, though.
Ryusuke Taguchi is more smashable as a member of Apollo 55 than he is on his own, but not smashable enough to get over the 50% mark (43.0% vs 28.4%).
Nick Wayne got the most votes this week, at 397. A lot of the tags said something along the lines of "he's too young right now, but let's check back in a few years." So, if this blog is still around in 5 years, I will make sure to run a new Nick Wayne poll.
And now for some of my favorite tags and comment
@dm-me-your-weltanschauung on Nasty Boys: #if you told me that this photo was from a campaign encouraging people to get tested for STIs I would believe you#or one of those “talk to your kids about sex before THEY do” things
@booboo-eyedbambi on Dominik Mysterio: #he gives me cute aggression in a way that makes me wanna squeeze him dry like an orange or burn the world down if he says he's chilly
@romanthereigns on Jordynne Grace: #I would let that woman throw me
@discow1tch on Nick Wayne: #he would 100% have been my type when I was a teenager but unfortunately I'm old now and would rather fuck his evil step dad
@supernaturalkickparty on Nick Wayne: #if anything take him to ihop gamestop and build a bear#think i saw a turtleneck shirt this past winter#he can make a christian cage bear

FRANTIC FANFICS
TITLE: For the funny (is this even for all ages??) FEATURING THE CHARACTERS: sun, gnagle WRITERS: elsie, xeya, tailsbot RATED ALL AGES
One day, Gnaggagngle and Sun decide to go to therapy. Unfortunately for them, the only available therapist is Ragatha, who immediately has a mental breakdown because girlie needs help.
This now turns to Gangle, Sun, and Ragatha all crying together, doing pure crack as they did so. Wh.. do I even want to know?
Anyway, Sun then flared and died, falling facedown onto the table in front of them.
So now a high Gangle and a high Ragatha are next to a dead body.
"wow, that sure did happen, im still depresed" says Gnangel "Lets go kill Jax, for the funny!" ragatha exclaimed "For the funny!" gangle replied
so then the two went and found jax, who was chilling in a t pose as one does "Jax we here to kill you" said gagnle "No u" says Jax 'oh ok" replies ragatha, as both her and gnglea do the family guy death pose and die.
"wow! they had crack on them!" says Jax "im gonna do the crack, and then ill blow up Mars!" Jax proceeded to do the crack, and blew up mars
Jax then proceeded to become the new tumblr secymand
TITLE: Gangle's Secret love FEATURING THE CHARACTERS: gangle, james/mask WRITERS: gummy, tailsbot, xeya RATED ALL AGES Gangle and Mask were at a cafe, waiting on their order. Gangle had been showing off her sketchbook to Mask, flipping through pages, when suddenly Gangle remembered a particular sketch that was in there… Gangle was too late to snatch the sketchbook back, when Mask flipped the page. "What the hell is this?" He said incredulously. "NO NO NO NO NO!" Gangle screeched.
Unfortunately, all had been revealed…
as her life crumbled before her, she sat, watching the terror in masks face, as they witnessed the page. Her biggest secrets, shown to the world, now everyone would know that
Gangle drew herself, KISSING ZOOBLE!
Mask stared down at the BEAUTIFUL AND TERRIFYINGLY DETAILED DRAWING and slowly turned to look at Gangle. "Are you…" they began, their voice trembling… "…a homosexual?" Gangle profusely denied, but the truth was out. Gangle was gay for Zooble. "Gangle.. why didn't you tell anyone?!" "It was… sniffle… it was too much!!! I COULDN'T!!! ZOOBLE WOULD FIND OUT IM GAY FOR THEM!!!" Mask committed a hit and run on Gangle by smacking her upside the head with her sketchbook and ran over to Zooble. "GANGLE IS GAY FOR Y-" Mask was pulled backwards into the shadows by a mysterious ribboned force and was never seen again… Emerging from the shadows was Gangle! "Hello! Everything you just heard is WRONG." Gangle faded away.
"…What the f-"
TITLE: TOP TEN ANIME BATTLES: #1: SANS VS FREDDY FEATURING THE CHARACTERS: sans, five nigt fredy WRITERS: xeya, gummy, elsie RATED ALL AGES Sans was gearing up for battle against Freddy Fazbear. He shined his Gaster Blaster and FUCKING obliterated a dummy. (mad dummy)
Freddy Fazbear showed up in a full blown mechasuit.
What the fuck.
Sans chuckled as he brandished his weapon. "I know your sins, Freddy. This won't end well for you." Freddy chuckled. "you may be strong, but you're still just a skeleton. One hit and you're done. I know you have a limit. How fast can we reach it?" Sans's eyes narrowed, and he pulled a hand from his pocket, his fingertips glowing blue. The bell rang, and the battle began, Sans dodged Freddy's attacks left and right, shooting arrays of bones in every direction. Freddy was hit several times, but this old bear was strong, and resisted the damage enough to keep going. "You're bear-ly taking a hit, arentcha?" Sans, joked, winking. Freddy Fazbear ignored this, and kept swinging.
Sans kept dodging attacks, but wondered how long he could keep this up…
And then he realized Freddy’s weakness… He’s electronic. And Sans has a bucket of water from an old door prank…
SPLASH
It was done.

Miami Marlins-Minnesota Twins Series Preview
9.24.24-Ryan Weathers LHP (3-6) 3.94 ERA Vs. Bailey Ober RHP (12-7) 3.84 ERA
9.25.24-Edward Cabrera RHP (5-8) 4.12 ERA Vs. Simeon Woods Richardson RHP (5-5) 4.00 ERA
9.26.24-Valente Bellozo RHP (3-4) 4.82 ERA Vs. David Festa RHP (2-6) 4.80 ERA
The Marlins At A Glance- The Marlins are in the middle of a rough season and Skip Schumaker won't be back. The team announced that they would not extend this contract beyond this season. The Marlins will exceed 100 losses for the first time since 2019. The team traded Luis Arraez away early and sent some bullpen arms to other teams at the trade deadline. Jazz Chisholm was also traded to the Yankees. Jake Burger leads the offense with twenty-eight homers and sixty-nine RBI. Xavier Edwards has played well with a .311 average through sixty-four games. The team consists of a lot of young guys, who are getting their chance. Griffin Conine is hitting .238 and is the son of longtime MLB player Jeff Conine. The Marlins starting rotation has a 5.35 ERA, which is second-worst in baseball behind the Rockies. The Twins will see Ryan Weathers on Tuesday, who is a big pitching prospect of theirs. The bullpen is a little better with a 4.27 ERA. JT Chargois is on the Mariners now, Tanner Scott and Bryan Hoeing were traded to the Padres, AJ Puk was traded to the Diamondbacks, and Trevor Rogers is on the Orioles now. Calvin Faucher is the closer with six saves.
The Twins At A Glance- The Twins can only blame themselves for their demise. They didn't get depth during the trade deadline and injuries to Joe Ryan, Chris Paddack, and Brock Stewart have piled up. The Twins are (11-22) in their past thirty-three games and are lucky that the Royals are on another seven-game losing streak or else they would be out of the American League Wild-Card race. They sit a game behind the Tigers for the final playoff spot. Kyle Farmer has been the hottest hitter with a .395 average in September. Carlos Correa has knocked in five runs since his return. Matt Wallner has three homers and ten RBI this month. Max Kepler took live batting practice on Monday and it's unknown on if he'll be back. He didn't play in any rehab assignment games for the Saints and now their season is over. The pitching has been decent at times, but do not get enough run support. Scott Blewett has allowed just two runs over 16 2/3 innings of work since his call-up. He finally received a higher leverage inning in the extra inning game on Friday night. I'd expect Griffin Jax and Jhoan Duran to be used heavliy in this series given that they've had three days off.
What To Watch For- The Twins are (10-9) all-time against the Marlins. The Marlins took two of three games from the Twins early in the 2023 season at loanDepot Park. The Twins won the prior series in 2019, which was also in Miami. The Marlins haven't been to Minnesota since 2016, when they lost two out of three games. None of the six scheduled starters have faced their opponent before. The Tigers get three with the Rays this week and the Royals get three against the Nationals in DC this week. The Twins need to win and get a little help to stay in this Wild-Card race.

UTEP to Play at Big Ten’s Northwestern Saturday Afternoon
EL PASO, Texas – UTEP will take on a Big Ten program for the first time in 11 seasons when it heads north to take on Northwestern on Saturday afternoon. The Miners and Wildcats are set to kick off at 1:30 p.m. MT on the Big Ten Network while the game will be broadcasted on 95.5 KLAQ
UTEP (1-1) is coming off a 28-14 victory against UIW on Sept. 2 in the Sun Bowl as the Miners ran past the Cardinals with 329 yards on 50 carries and a pair of rushing scores - 40-yarder by Torrance Burgess Jr., and a short-distance rush by Mike Franklin. Deion Hankins ran over and around UIW defenders for a career-high 174 yards. Gavin Hardison added two touchdown tosses with Jostein Clarke and Tyrin Smith being on the other end of those scores. The Orange and Blue shut out UIW in the second half as senior Tyrice Knight racked up a career-high 16 tackles, while adding a sack and 2.5 tackles for loss to lead the defense. James Neal also tallied a sack, while senior S Trejon Hugue performed well in his first career start, posting a career-best six tackles and a pass breakup in the end zone on a fourth-and-2.
Tumblr media
The UTEP defense has allowed just seven points in the second half this season yielding a TD during the third quarter at Jax State a few weeks back.
NU (0-1) is coming off a 24-7 setback at Rutgers to open the 2023 campaign. Rutgers jumped out to a 24-0 lead before Northwestern found the end zone with 19 seconds remaining in the game. The Wildcats have lost their last 12 contests dating back to last season as their last win came during the ’22 season opener, defeating Nebraska, 31-28, in Dublin, Ireland. NU hasn’t won on American soil since beating Rutgers 21-7 on Oct. 16, 2021 in Evanston.
Tumblr media
For UTEP, it will mark its second ever contest in the Land of Lincoln since winning at Northern Illinois in 1996. UTEP last faced a Big Ten team on Sept. 22, 2012 during a 37-26 loss at Wisconsin. The Miners were down four points (23-19) midway through the fourth before the Badgers ran off a pair of touchdowns late in the contest.
Tumblr media
The Miners find themselves opening at a one-point favorite. However, UTEP Head Coach Dana Dimel won’t let that fool anyone as NU is still a Big Ten program in the Power Five Conference.
youtube
“You know, it's a team that's really hungry. I know that they're a very hungry team. I know they played good football and they're a very competitive football team. They're a new team this year,” Dimel said. “They got some young safeties and corners and another corner that's coming back, that's an experienced player, a real physical player as well. So, they don't have many weaknesses across the board. They're real fundamentally sound defensively. They play their gaps and they're playing very well and they're well coached defensively. It's a defensive package, that is very proven throughout college football.”
UTEP (1-1, 0-1) at Northwestern (0-1, 0-1)
Date: Saturday, Sept. 9
Time: 1:30 p.m. MT/2:30 CT

The contest will be televised on the Big Ten Network with Jason Ross (play-by-play) and Anthony Herron (analysis) calling the action. Fans can tune into 95.5 KLAQ with “The Voice of the Miners” Jon Teicher calling play-by-play in his 43rd season. ‘Teich’ is joined by former UTEP WR Cole Freytag (2012, 2014-16) in the booth providing analysis in his second season and Mando Medina reporting from the sidelines. UTEP leads the nation with 485 rushing yards. The Miners’ 242.5 rushing yards per game ranks 19th in FBS and ranks top 40 at 5.2 yards per rush. UTEP’s 787 yards of total offense ranks fourth nationally.
A CREDIT TO THE O-LINE
The UTEP offensive line, which averages 6-foot-4, over 307 pounds kept the line of scrimmage in check. The line composed of Steven Hubbard, Justin Mayers, Andrew Meyer, Elijah Klein and Zuri Henry pushed the UIW defenders backwards as UTEP running backs moved forward, never being tackled behind the line of scrimmage on their combined 43 rushing attempts.
CONSECUTIVE STARTS ON THE O-LINE
Senior RG Elijah Klein has started the last 40 games in a row on the offensive line. String of consecutive contests started on Nov. 2, 2019 at North Texas.
FIRST CAREER TD
WR Jostein Clarke hauled in his first career touchdown on a 13-yard reception in the second quarter against UIW.
3RD-DOWN CONVERSIONS
Part of UTEP’s success on Saturday night were third-downs. The Miners converted 67 percent (6-9) of their third downs against UIW. It’s the highest under Dana Dimel, and the best conversion percentage since hitting on 10 of 13 (77 percent) against North Texas to close out the 2016 season.
TD IN ALL 4 QUARTERS
In Saturday's win over UIW, UTEP scored a touchdown in every quarter for the third time under coach Dana Dimel. It also marked the second time under Dimel that the Miners scored an offensive touchdown in all four quarters. This also happened on Nov. 20, 2021 against Rice. The Miners scored a touchdown in every quarter at Charlotte on Oct. 1, 2022, but one was off a 100-yard fumble recovery by Jadrian Taylor in the fourth quarter.
TYRICE TEARING THROUGH OFFENSES
LB Tyrice Knight leads the nation with 17 solo tackles, while he ranks tied no. 1 nationally with 29 total tackles and ranks tied sixth in tackles per game (14.5).
KNIGHT TIME
LB Tyrice Knight racked up a career-high 16 tackles in UTEP’s win over UIW on Sept. 2. He opened his final campaign with 13 tackles at Jax State. The redshirt senior now has 14 double-digit tackle performances in his career. Knight tallied 14 at UTSA and 11 against North Texas in 2020. In 2021, he recorded double-digits six times, highlighted by his career-high 15 against Fresno State in the New Mexico Bowl. Also, that season he tallied 12 against UNM, 11 at UNT, 10 against UTSA and 10 more at UAB. In 2022, he added four more with 14 stops at UNM, 12 at Rice, 11 against UNT and 10 versus Middle Tennessee.
NEAL GETTING AFTER IT
LB James Neal, in his first two career starts, ranks second on the team with 14 tackles while he’s registered a sack and his first career forced fumble. Neal opened the season with 10 tackles at Jax State and followed with that with four stops, a sack and forced fumble against UIW.
SECOND SACK
LB James Neal, in his first two career starts, recorded his second career sack against UIW on a play where he registered his first career forced fumble. Neal’s first sack came during the 2021 season.
SOLID FIRST START
Senior S Trejon Hugue made his first career start on Saturday night against UIW, and recorded a career-high six tackles with his first-career pass breakup. His efforts helped the defense pitch a second-half shutout.
FIRST INT
CB Trez Moore intercepted his first pass of his career, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. The junior picked off Zach Calzada’s pass with just over two minutes remaining in the game during UTEP’s 28-14 win over UIW.
GOOSE EGG IN THE SECOND HALF
The UTEP defense pitched a second-half shutout during the Miners’ 28-14 win against UIW. It’s the first second-half donut since shutting out LA Tech in the second half during the 2021 season.
JOSH THE SPECIAL TEAMS STOPPER
P Joshua Sloan tallied his third career tackle on Saturday night against UIW. The product from Australia recorded his first tackle at Rice on national television and followed with his second at no. 25 UTSA last season. Sloan added a solid night of kicking, booting three punts for 141 yards (47.0 avg.) with a 57 yarder and one inside the 20-yard line against the Cardinals.
UP NEXT
UTEP will hit the road for the second of back-to-back road games versus Power Five opponents as it will play at Arizona on Saturday, Sept. 16 with kickoff set for 9:00 p.m. MT/8 PT on the Pac-12 Network. The Miners and Wildcats can also be heard on 95.5 KLAQ. It will mark the 53rd meeting and first since 2017 when the Miners and Wildcats played in the Sun Bowl.

Am I gonna sit here and think of all these 1v1 fight drabble ideas of Kengou vs various League champs and then never write them? Yes, yes I am. But I'll just save you the trouble and put the results here too! Best of ten style to consider multiple ways a fight can go. Keep in mind this is his Ascended Swordsman AU (think a less mobile Master Yi), not the normal barista verse. If he was, he solos all of Runterra in trying to make tea, no diff.
Kengou vs Sett - 7 to 3 Sett. I had initially had the match end in a tie for narrative reasons but even with his Ascension, Sett can easily overpower Kengou and since he doesn't use mana to fight, that part of his abiliites wouldn't hinder Sett as much. Kengou vs Akali - 6 to 4 Kengou. Akali's biggest strength imo is her quickness and even if he can't always see her, Kengou can track her ki so even in her shroud he'd be able to find her. He has the edge in physical strength and experience. Kengou vs Katarina - Even 5 split. Similar to Akali, Katarina would be able to out speed Kengou with her shunpo. I'd consider them even when it comes to experience, Katarina would have better odds getting the drop on her opponent whereas Kengou is much more used to even ground. It pretty much comes down to who gets the first jump. Kengou vs Fiora - 8 to 2 Fiora. In this instance, two swords are not better than one. I chaulk this up mostly to experience and training. Yes Kengou has trained most of his life but he had to reteach himself how to fight after he pretty much lost all of his muscle memory during his 'angry phase'. Kengou vs Shen - 10 to 0 Shen. To this day, Kengou has never beaten Shen in a sparring match, losing to him in durability, strength and tactics. He was taught by Shen and to that end, he knows how Kengou fights well enough to dodge his approaches.
Kengou vs Yasuo - 6 to 4 Kengou. Yasuo's wind walls would be a neat counter but Kengou can use his short range ki waves pretty frequently and has enough mobility to step around the tornadoes. He's also more nimble just enough to parry Yasuo's signature steel tempest strikes.
Kengou vs Riven - 7 to 3 Riven. Her more acrobatic style of fighting leaves Kengou with little options plus the size of her blade, even broken, is enough to push through his defense. Most of the fight would be on his back foot, similar to Sett. Technique would get him a few wins here and there but nothing definitive.
Kengou vs Master Yi - 9 to 1 Yi. Speed and precision. At top speed, Kengou can't keep up but there's a chance if he can get enough hits in to slow down his mana usage. Kengou vs Jax - 10 to 0 Jax. He has, is and will continue to canonically whup Kengou's ass from now to kingdom come. He's the only one to actually have left a lasting scar on Kengou's body, add that mental block as well and Kengou doesn't stand a chance. Stupid lamp post.

Guns, Claws & Teeth pt. 2
On the way back from running an errand for your brother, you stop by an auto garage for a tune-up for your car. Once there, you run into a bit of trouble but it's nothing you can't handle. Unfortunately, the humans you've made friends with are dragged into the mess.
PART ONE | PART TWO | PART THREE
Tumblr media
Words: 4.1K Author's Note: Violence. Some good 'ol fashion wolf vs. wolf action.
The parking lot of Teller-Morrow Automotive is tense.
Gemma and the men had taken your words seriously, pulling out weapons from their hiding spots and arming themselves. Though they do keep a respectable distance from you as you angrily pace back and forth, texting your brother every now and then.
"So.. werewolves, huh?" Juice wonders. You glance at him, eyes narrowing as you try to determine whether he's actually curious or what.
And seeing that he actually does look curious, even as his brothers nudge him to shut him up, you grin. "Yeah. There's so much you don't know about the supernatural world, man. I'll tell you about it later if I live through this night."
That stops everyone short. "You don't think you're gonna make it?"
"M'not sure," you answer distractedly. "Alphas are more powerful than a beta or omega, but it is possible for them to fall to a less powerful wolf."
"So your family," Gemma says, arms crossed and foot tapping as she stares you down, "was that all bullshit or..?"
"Definitely not bullshit. I just left out a few key details."
"Such as?" She asks.
"Such as the fact that the bitch who targeted my family came from a family of werewolf hunters. They had a code to only hunt wolves who hunted humans, but she defected. She killed all wolves, no matter if they were good or bad, and who better to take out than the one wolf family who was highly respected in the werewolf community."
"And the relationship with your brother? That true too?"
"Yeah. She needed to know the ins and outs of our home, and when a majority of the Hales would be in the same place at the same time. I had family who were human, including the ten month old, and she didn't care. As long as they bore the name Hale, she thought they deserved to die."
"You said your uncle got justice for the family. He kill her?" Opie asks.
You glance at him and give him a nod. "He ripped her throat out. And then my brother ripped his out."
Everyone frowns, but it's Jax who mutters, "What the fuck."
You chuckle, scenting the air real quick to make sure no one is approaching, and then explain. "When they pulled my uncle from the fire, his body had trouble healing. He was basically trapped in his mind, slowly going crazy. Fast forward years later when my sister gets lured back to Beacon Hills and my mostly healed uncle kills his own niece for her alpha power." The men and Gemma all stare at you in shock. "He wanted her alpha power to start his own pack and hunt down those responsible for the fire. So when me and my brother came back, and figured everything out, we let him get his revenge before my brother tore his throat out and became the next Hale alpha."
"So what, you both just picked right back up in the place your family was burned alive?" Jax asks.
"Yes. We rebuilt our home and opened the garage. Those kids I told you about, the ones who work in the garage? My brother gave them the option to take the bite since it was fifty-fifty it would take. A bite from an alpha can either kill you or turn you. It cured Erica of her epilepsy, let Isaac be strong enough to stand up to his father, and gave Boyd a new family. It's our job to protect Beacon Hills and it's people from supernatural threats."
Everyone goes quiet as your words sink in.
Eventually, Juice snorts. "So do you like get furry on the night of the full moon?"
Opie, Jax and Chibs all start to laugh.
"Only those with great power can turn into an actual wolf. I only have a-" Your ears perk up at the sound of slowly approaching vehicles and you tense. You glance over your shoulder, scent the air, and let loose a low growl. "Enough about me. We've got incoming."
"How many?" Jax is immediately at your side as you face the gates.
"Four."
He scoffs. "Easy."
"Four wolves against one wolf and five humans? I don't know, Jax." Two vehicles park outside of the opened gates, but only one man gets off. "Stay behind me," you mumble.
You're not surprised to have these bikers spread out on either side of you, but you are surprised when Gemma joins them. Red eyes flare, which causes an automatic warning growl to reverberate through your throat, and a smirk spreads across the man's lips as he steps under a street lamp. "It appears we've brought claws to a gun fight," the alpha muses. "Let me rectify that real quick."
Three more wolves get off the vehicles, joining their alpha with weapons in hand.
"You don't want to do this," you tell him. "You're gonna start a war you have no hope of winning the moment alpha Hale catches wind of your scent."
"You're trespassing on my land, beta."
"You didn't claim it with the alpha in charge, pup." The alpha's smile falls and you raise an eyebrow at him. "What? Didn't think I could smell the difference," you say. "You're not a born wolf. You're newly bitten and in way over your head. You start this fight right now and alpha Hale's gonna rip your head off."
He stares at you before a cruel smirk forms. "I'll take my chances."
The wolves open fire, causing the humans to duck and take cover before they can fire back. Your instincts are telling you to take cover as well, but you quickly realize they're not firing at you or the humans. They're firing at the shops and vehicles.
The sound of glass shattering has you whirling around and your eyes widen at the sight of the back windshield of your car having been shot out. You face the wolves once more, eyes glowing and teeth elongating as you let out a heart stopping roar of rage.
"WHAT THE FUCK!?"
You rush forward, meeting one beta head on as the gun fire ceases. You deflect a punch, raising a hand full of claws and slashing the wolf across his torso. Another beta approaches, but you're quick to kick out and catch them in their gut. A gunshot rings out, too close for comfort, and you roar as you feel your right shoulder jerk back upon impact. Someone wraps their arms around you from behind and you're quick to throw your head back, grinning viciously at the snap of bone you hear before dropping and sweeping their feet from underneath them.
The gunfire picks up once more and you feel a searing pain in your thigh, but you ignore it. You take claws across the chest before the beta attacking you takes a bullet to the side of his head, and you glance back at the men you'd gotten to know earlier who are clearly watching your back now. The alpha roars something awful, which makes you flinch, but your focus is still on the other two betas.
More searing pain erupts in your side as you throw yourself at another beta, slashing claws across their throat before falling into a crouch before launching yourself at the third beta. The fight with a third beta is a struggle and you can feel your control slowly slipping. And when you feel yourself losing the upper hand, you growl before sinking your fangs into the side of their throat and ripping out a chunk of flesh.
"BEHIND YOU!"
More gunshots ring out and you whirl around just in time to see the last wolf stumble in surprise at all the gunshots now littering his chest. And in your blood lust, you lunge up and dig your claws into his throat before yanking out his trachea.
As quiet takes over the parking lot, you become aware of your heavy breathing. You're still on high alert as you glance around at the bodies littering the lot and you let loose a warning growl when you hear a pebble skip across asphalt. The five humans freeze, two of them halfheartedly raising guns in your direction.
"Hey, weren't your eyes blue before?"
Those words knock the angry haze from your mind and you blink in confusion at Juice. "What? They are blue."
"Nah, they're red now."
"What?" Your heart stops and you glance around at the bodies littering the ground, bile rising in the back of your throat when you see the then-alpha staring blankly up at the sky. "No, no, no."
"Honey, I don't know what you're freaking out about, but we really need to remove those bullets from you," Gemma says, though she keeps her distance.
You look at her, brow furrowing. "What?"
"You've been shot three times. You need to get those bullets out."
Gemma's words slowly sink in and you glance down at yourself. Sure enough, there's a wound on your right shoulder, your right side, and your left thigh. "Oh."
"So come on. Come join us in the clubhouse while Chibs dig those out for you."
"Y-Yeah. Okay."
You're in a bit of a daze as someone leads you into what they call the clubhouse, then over to a table where everything is swiped off before you're told to lay down.
"Shirt's gonna have to come off, lass."
Without a care, you strip off your shirt which leaves you in just your bra and shorts. Before you lay down, your eyes land on a bar and the liquor shelf behind it. "Can someone grab me a bottle? I don't care what it is, I just need something stronger than beer."
Juice jogs over behind the bar, picking up a random bottle of liquor and running it back to you. You twist off the lid and take a long pull from it, only stopping when Jax puts his hand on the bottle to push it down. "Hey, take it slow."
Your nose wrinkles at the brief burn of alcohol. "Don't need to. I can't get drunk unless it's a special mix." You take another long pull of the liquor before setting the bottle aside, and lay down. "Okay. I'm ready."
Chibs dig into your shoulder first and you can't help the flare of your eyes or the elongation of your teeth. But you don't snarl or glare, instead you grit your fangs and bear it.
The moment the first bullet comes out, Juice is there with a dish towel to press against the wound. You wave him off before he can ruin it. "Don't bother. It's already closing." Everyone freezes and glances at your shoulder wound, and you tiredly smile at their awe. "Perks of being a werewolf. We heal quickly."
As Chibs works on the other two bullets, you dig your phone out of shorts. You unlock it and scroll down to your brother's contact, tapping on it and then placing the phone on speaker before letting it clatter to the table top.
It rings and rings, and then, "What happened?"
"The pack attacked." You grunt as the bullet in your thigh gives Chibs a bit of trouble. "I'm currently laid out on the table as a friend digs out a bullet from my thigh."
"Shit. Did any get away?"
"Only four came- three betas and the alpha. M'not sure if there's more to his pack, but-" You trail off, unsure how to say what you have to next.
"But what, YN?"
"I killed the alpha." Your brother goes quiet and tears slowly fill your eyes. "I didn't mean to, Der. It just happened. I was so caught up in the fight and-"
"We'll figure it out, little sister. Just sit tight. We'll be there soon."
"Okay."
The phone beeps, signifying that Derek's hung up and you sigh. "Are cops going to be an issue?"
"Nah," Jax says. "We have them in our pocket."
Just as Chibs tells you you're all done, numerous sounds of roaring engines fill the air.
"Shit." Jax cusses.
"Don't worry. I'll hold them off," Gemma says. "But they will want an explanation."
You sit up and gratefully accept a shirt Opie holds out for you. "That's fine. So long as they can keep this between us, they can know." The shirt is black with the words SAMCRO stamped across the front and you grip it one hand. "Is there a bathroom I can wash all the blood off in?"
"Yeah. Ope, get her a shower," Jax says.
Opie nods and gestures for you to follow. "Thank you." Staring at Jax once more, you ask, "Do you think some of the boys can get the bodies in the vehicles and park them out back? I'll have my brother get rid of it all later."
"Sure."
You follow Opie further into the clubhouse just as there's a bit of a commotion outside, but you don't pay it any mind. Opie opens the door to what appears to be a dorm room and he points to another door inside. "There's the bathroom. My wife has some leggings here if you want a pair."
"Yes, please."
The tall biker turns towards the dresser, pulling open a drawer and pulling out a pair of dark gray leggings. You flash him a smile as you accept them and then head into the bathroom.
A quick rinse off and some fresh clothes later, you're stepping out into the room where Opie is still waiting. Upon seeing you, he chuckles. "You're so unassuming. If I hadn't seen what you did earlier, I wouldn't believe whatever Gem and Jax are telling the boys outside."
You shift nervously in front of him. "That's what's scary about the supernatural world. You never know who is human and who is not." He hums in agreement. "So, uh, is there a place I can burn my bloody clothes?"
"Yeah. I'll tell a Prospect to get a fire going."
"Thanks. And if you can have someone catalog the damage those assholes did to the garage and club, I'll pay for all damages."
Opie looks at you in surprise. "I'll let Gemma know."
Walking back out into the club, you grab up your bloody shirt and follow Opie. Outside in the lot, it seems like Jax is holding court to a bunch of bikers that are listening intently to everything he's telling them about the fight that took place and werewolves. The scent of bleach assaults your nose, and you watch as one individual pours bleach on the now body-free parking lot and another washes it away with a water hose.
Opie pulls someone aside, murmuring something in his ear, and the man glances at you with wide eyes. He nods and hesitantly makes his way towards you, holding his hands out for your bloodied clothes that you readily hand over. As he scampers off, you glance back up to see several people staring at you.
One individual with a head of curly dark hair and receding hairline scoffs. "She's a werewolf? I don't know what you've been smoking, kid, but werewolves don't-"
You snarl, flashing red eyes and very sharp teeth at him.
Nearly everyone pulls a weapon, but you stand your ground and don't say a word. Instead, you let your supernatural features fade away as Jax yells at his people. "ENOUGH! I didn't tell you about werewolves so you can shoot the one we're on friendly terms with as of right now. YN came here as a client to the garage- nothing more, nothing less. She didn't know she was bringing a fight to the club, but she made damn sure to eliminate the threat. Show her an ounce of respect."
There are several unhappy grumbles, but everyone listens. Weapons are holstered and everyone eyes you warily as Opie leads you to the picnic tables. You sigh, stepping up onto the bench so you can sit on the edge of the table itself. You're surprised as Jax joins you, and Opie and Juice sit near your feet on the bench. The other picnic table is brought in front of the one you're sitting on, and Gemma takes a seat along with Chibs and two other individuals.
"YN, this is Clay and Happy." Jax introduces you to a white-haired man who still looks like he has a lot of fight in him and another individual whose stoic expression unsettles you. Both nod in greeting.
"Hi." You fold your arms in your lap, looking at Gemma head on. "I already told Opie, but since you're here.." She perks up, listening. "If you can have someone catalog the damages to your garage and club, I'll pay for it all."
Jax nudges you. "You don't have to do that."
"I do." You look at him, smiling faintly. "These wolves came because of me, so I'll pay for any and all damages."
Gemma slowly smiles. "Thanks, baby."
"Don't even mention it."
Gemma yells for someone and tells them to start logging the damage and it's worth. Then after they run to get started on the job they were assigned, Chibs looks up at you.
"I got a question for 'ya, lass."
"Shoot."
"Why were 'ya so freaked to have red eyes instead of blue?"
You exhale tiredly. "Because red eyes signify alpha status. No pack can have more than one alpha unless they want to constantly butt heads, which means I'll have to leave my pack and start anew elsewhere."
"I have a question too," Clay suddenly speaks up. "Why tell us all of this? If you creatures are dead set on keeping the secret of your existence, why tell my family?"
It takes you a moment to think about it.
"Have you ever met someone and just instantly clicked with them?" You ask. "Someone you met that you just felt at ease with even though they were a complete stranger?" Clay shrugs. "Well when I met Chibs, Jax, Juice and Gemma, that's exactly how I felt. Like I knew them for years and was reuniting with an old friend."
Jax coos next to you and you immediately nudge him, chuckling as you shake your head at him. Clay has a few more questions for you and, though he's not the one in charge, you feel like you should answer anything they throw at you.
A couple hours later, after all the remnants of a gunfight having taken place have been discarded and beers have been passed around to those sitting around you, three vehicles pull up to the lot. Everyone tenses, but when seeing the Camaro that's nearly identical to yours out front, you tell them it's okay.
"It's my brother." When Derek and the betas get off their vehicles, you're surprised to see Peter trailing after them. You hop off the table to greet your brother, hesitating briefly upon touching him before giving in and hugging him. He chuckles and then you stare at your friends before asking, "Can I?"
After all, you didn't want to trigger your brother's wolf by another alpha getting too close to his betas.
"Of course."
Erica, Isaac and Boyd can immediately tell the difference when you hug them, and you smile faintly when you flash red eyes at them.
"Holy shit," Erica says.
"Yeah." Looking at your brother, you say, "There's two vehicles out back with the bodies. Can they take them far out of the county and stage a scene? I don't wanna bring suspicion to the garage's doorstep."
"What's the scene gonna look like?"
"Shootout and an animal attack." You shrug. "I used claws and teeth, and the humans used guns."
"Okay."
Derek gestures for the betas to do as they're told as Juice tells them where to find the vehicles around back. Boyd mentions he'll follow in one of their cars, and Isaac and Erica jog around the garage to go find the vehicles they need to dispose of.
Left alone with just Derek and Peter, you quickly introduce everyone to each other.
"Hold on," Juice says, frowning. "I thought you said your uncle Peter was dead? That your brother ripped his throat out?"
All gazes dart to Peter and Derek who are only a few feet apart, and Peter chuckles as you roll your eyes. "Uncle Peter has an awful habit of not staying dead. He's a nuisance, but as the Pack Enforcer, he's kind of needed."
"Thank you, darling niece. It's so nice to hear that you only keep me around because of my role in the pack and not because we're family."
"I stopped caring for your well-being the moment we found out you cut Laura, your other darling niece, in half," you deadpan.
Gemma gasps and suddenly the humans are on edge.
From the corner of your eye, you see Happy sit a little straighter at that information as he stares at your uncle. Everyone kind of reshuffles around then so that Peter and Derek are not at anyone's back, and you end up between Jax and Opie once more as they stand close by on either side of you.
"So what's your plan?" Derek asks, arms crossing over his chest.
"I'm not sure." You copy his posture. "I don't want to risk making betas. The bite has a 50/50 chance of taking, and I don't want to risk killing someone."
"You and I both know that it's possible to have a pack with members who are human." His eyes dart to the men standing next to you and you frown. "So long as you bond with these people and treat them as family, they're pack."
"What happens if she doesn't form a pack?" Jax asks.
Derek's gaze darts to him as he answers. "If an alpha remains packless, it'll slowly make them feral to the point they need to be put down."
Every gaze then turns to you and you try not to shrink under their gaze.
"I have a better idea," Peter says. "Why not give the alpha power to another wolf who actually wants it?"
"Yeah? And who would that be?"
Peter smirks as his eyes flare blue, but the moment he takes a step in your direction, Jax and Opie are closing ranks on you and putting you just behind their shoulders. You glance at the backs of both men in surprise, head whipping in the direction of Happy and Juice who now have guns resting casually in their laps.
Peter freezes and scoffs, and Derek smirks. "It seems you might already have that pack of yours without even realizing it." Wide eyes meet the gaze of your brother and he chuckles. "Charming is in need of an alpha now, little sister. And it seems you're a new alpha who unknowingly formed a bond with men permanently attached to the town."
You gape at Derek, your expression not changing as Jax and Opie grin over their shoulders at you. When no one says anything, you sigh. "Does anyone know of a house for rent? I'm gonna need a place to stay while I purchase some land and build a house away from nosy neighbors."
"Juice, get on that," Jax says. "Find a house with a decent landlord and then look for land that can be built on."
"Got it, Prez."
Juice jogs away to get started on his new task and you shake your head at your brother. "Congratulations. Charming and its people are now your responsibility," Derek says. "Problem solved."
Clay clears his throat. "That's pretty much the job of the Sons here. We look out for Charming and the locals."
Derek nods at him. "That's great. But if another pack rolls into town, looking to cause trouble, or a rogue werewolf wanders into town and starts killing people for food, how are you going to take care of that problem? Do you know the signs to look for to determine whether or not it's a supernatural threat?"
Clay frowns. "No."
"Then that's where YN steps in. She's going to be a fountain of knowledge. Tap into it."
"I don't have to be a part of whatever operation you have going on here," you say while gesturing towards the building, "but apparently my wolf has shown interest in these knuckleheads," this time you gesture to Opie and Jax, "and any attack on them is an attack on me. And if a supernatural threat comes to town, you're gonna want me in your corner."
Clay seems to think over that before he subtly nods and tucks Gemma under his arm, accepting whatever may come next. Jax slowly smiles, playfully punching his friend's arm. "Werewolf bodyguard.. sweet."

NWA 73 preview
This is the NWA's 73rd anniversary show, which kicks off at 8pm EDT from the Chase Hotel in St. Louis. It'll be streaming live on Fite.tv for $24.99. However, if you can still get the $39.99 bundle for this show and last night's Empowerrr, I'd recommend doing that.
Nick Aldis vs. Trevor Murdoch - For the third time, Murdoch is challenging Aldis for the NWA men's world heavyweight title. After coming up short on June 6 and July 24, Murdoch put his career on the line for this match; if he doesn't win, he will retire from pro wrestling.
Aldis has been champion for over 1,000 days. To put that into perspective, he won the title from Cody Rhodes at the NWA's 70th anniversary show, in October 2018. Prior to Cody's brief title reign, Aldis held the ten pounds of gold for an additional 266 days. In short, he's been the champion for most of the last four years. He's been so utterly dominant that I seriously think Murdoch may retire.
Murdoch is the embodiment of a wrestling journeyman. He got his first big break in the last days of ECW. Then in 2005 he debuted in WWE as a tag team with Lance Cade. This was at the peak of WWE's mentality of recruiting handsome muscle-y guys like Cade, so Murdoch's flabby, white-trash trucker look immediately made him stand out. He was different, which made him interesting, but WWE released him almost as soon as they broke up the team in 2008. At the time, getting cut from WWE usually meant no chance of getting back in, and few alternatives to make good money at wrestling. So he fell off the radar in the 2010s, only to re-emerge on Billy Corgan's version of the NWA, which seemed tailor-made for him.
The big question here is whether the NWA would actually take the world title off of their one heavily-protected superstar and put it on a guy who would be (and has been) a midcard also-ran in any other promotion. The other question is what happens with Aldis if he drops the belt--it's possible his contract is coming due, and that may be forcing the issue of a title change. If Aldis is on his way out, Murdoch is the best guy they have left to take over as champion. If not...well, I don't know how you book Aldis underneath Murdoch. I wouldn't mind finding out, though.
I'm leaning towards Murdoch winning the title. But it's a credit to how well they've protected Aldis that I can't shake the feeling that he'll win yet again and hold the title another 1,000 days.
Chris Adonis vs. James Storm - Adonis (better known as "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters in WWE) is defending the NWA national championship. Storm was a regular with the NWA up until January 2020. Other than coming in for some tapings where he dropped the tag title, he hasn't been around since then. So maybe this is a one-off or maybe he's back for good. The finish will probably depend on that. I'm sort of thinking Storm wins the title, but I could be wrong.
Kamille vs. Chelsea Green - Green won the NWA Women's Invitiational Cup last night to earn this shot at Kamille's NWA women's world title. I'm still kinda sore that Tootie Lynn didn't win after that huge hometown pop she got. It'll be worth it if they have something good planned for this match, but I'm not expecting a lot. Green is a free agent that could end up anywhere, but I don't think she'll end up in the NWA, so I don't think she's going to win the title.
Mickie James vs. Kylie Rae - When James was announced as the producer of the Empowerrr show, she vowed that she would not book herself to wrestle on the show, so this is her big chance to compete in an NWA ring this weekend. Kylie, meanwhile, is coming off a loss last night. It feels like Mickie needs to go over to establish her as the big star coming into the territory, but for all I know she's not sticking around, or she might prefer to put over the younger talent. This another match where I just can't be sure who wins, which is good for this card.
Aron Stevens & JR Kratos vs. Bestia 666 & Mecha Wolf 450 - Stevens and Kratos are defending the NWA men's tag team title against representatives of AAA's faction La Rebelion. The last time I really kept up with the NWA, Stevens was doing a comedy karate gimmick with Jocephus dressed up as The Question Mark. Somewhere along the way (prior to Jocephus's death), Stevens ended up with Kratos instead. On paper you'd expect the team with Stevens on it to get clobbered, because he's the Wile E. Coyote of pro wrestling. But I doubt Bestia and Mecha Wolf are sticking around, so a tag title change wouldn't make a lot of sense. So look for Stevens to pull some kind of chicanery.
Thom Latimer vs. Tim Storm vs. Crimson - This is being billed as the "Brawl in the Lou" (i.e., St. Louis), which I assume means there are no disqualifications or count-outs, and falls count anywhere. Latimer is part of Nick Aldis's stable Strictly Business (along with Chris Adonis and Kamille). Tim Storm is 57 years old and sort of plays the role of an NWA legend without actually having been around when the NWA was really legendary. Crimson had been teaming with Jax Dane over the past few years but I'm not sure if that's still a thing. I have no idea why these three are fighting, and it may be just because there was nothing else for them to do on this show. I don't know who should win and I'm not sure it matters.
Tyrus & Jordan Clearwater & The Masked Man vs. Da Pope & Odinson & Parrow - Tyrus used to be Brodus Clay in WWE; currently he's the NWA television champion, with Austin Idol as his manager. Clearwater is part of Idol's stable. The Masked Man seems to be an x-factor in this match, and I don't know enough about the story to venture a guess as to why he's involved here. Pope appeared in WWE as Elijah Burke, and even though that's his real name he's tended to just go by "Da Pope" ever since. Odinson and Parrow are a tag team called The End.
The only storyline I can discern is that Tyrus won the TV title from Pope. I'm not sure what the Masked Man and The End have to do with anything. I tried looking for a promo on Youtube to explain things but I just ended up listening to a long, go-nowhere Austin Idol promo that reminded me why I don't watch NWA Powerrr much. I guess Pope's team wins, maybe?
12-man battle royale - This appears to be a standard battle royale, with everyone in the ring at the start, and eliminations occurring when the participants leave the ring over the top rope. The last competitor left in the ring wins the match and receives a future match for the NWA men's world title. No participants have been announced, and I'm real curious if the NWA even has twelve men available that aren't already booked for the other matches. For all I know the undercard guys may be doing double duty tonight.
This feels like a good place to have a surprise wrestler debut to win the whole thing and shake up the main event scene. Whether the NWA has anyone like that lined up remains to be seen. But WWE did lay off a lot of men who haven't shown up anywhere else yet, so maybe it could happen.

Authors Note: This is just something that has been popping in and out of my head over the past couple of weeks. I thought why not spend some time writing it up. Let me know if you would be interested in me writing another chapter!
Summary: The 70s and 80s had Iron Madden, Guns N’ Roses, Skid Row and Morley Crue. It’s 2025 and Rock N’ Roll is more alive than ever thanks to Broken Voodoo kickstarting the rock n roll heart.
Introduction
The room was plain, and by plain I don’t mean it as an insult. It was a good plain. The plain that was almost calming. The plain that reminded me of a blank canvas, one that I would be painting with my words. I had done hundreds of interviews, but this was the first one in years that I was truly nervous for.
I took a deep breath as I looked into a mirror to check my appearance. I had looked like me, and for the first time in over 5 years I was happy about that.
The layers of foundation and mascara I used to hide behind was gone. My signature piercing cherry red lips were replaced with a pair of soft pink ones. I smiled at myself in the mirror fidgeting with my hair before having someone route a small microphone through my shirt and clipped it on my collar.
I waited outside of a pair of skinny doors that led into the plain room. I fidgeted with my wedding ring trying to find comfort, wishing that he was here. He had to be in Australia to accept an award for our band. Sadly Oli and Jax couldn’t make it because they had other obligations. As I hear the female host announce my name, I took a deep breath and forced myself to walk through those door.
A smile quickly grew on my lips as I sat down on a small white chair in front of a crowd that had come to see a daytime talk show. This wasn’t the first time Dixie was interviewing me. The first time felt like ages ago, back when she was an interviewer for some small Snapchat news show. The main difference is the last time we met was both are clothes and the fact that the first interview was in the bathroom of some bar on Sunset Strip. I felt an ease flush over me as she sent me a warm smile. It had been at least a year since we had last talked.
“Well I would like to welcome a very dear and close friend of mine, Andrea ‘Andy’ Mitchell also known as the multi award winning guitarist of Broken Voodoo. A band which has been heavily attributed for the resurgence of hard rock into the modern era. There was Motley Crue, Iron Maiden, Cinderella, Guns N’ Roses, and now there is Broken Voodo who brought hard rock back from the 80s to the present,” Dixie sent me a warm smile as she spoke.
“Thanks for having me, Dixie. It’s been too long since we have done one of these,” I sent her a genuine smile in return. I could feel the nerves slowly melt away.
“I don’t known if this is well known or not, but my first interview I ever performed was with Andy”
I let a laugh escape me, “Oh God how long ago was that interview ten years ago?”
“At least, and it was an absolute train wreck!”
“Well it might have gone better if I was sober.” I reminded her. Memories of the interview of it flooded my mind.
“It also didn’t help that I had not properly done my researched and confused you for a groupie.”
“Good times,” I teased back.
“The thing I remember most about that interview was Oli, your drummer, kept correcting you whenever you said you were a rhythm guitarist!” Delight filled her features as she talked about it.
“To this day I don’t know why I was so set on being a rhythm guitarist. I was a terrible at it. Plus it’s hard to have a rhythm guitarist when you’re the old guitarist in the band. At the time I wanted nothing but to hide from the spotlight, and that stays pretty true to how I feel today...Seb and I were actually talking about that last week, the whole rhythm guitarist vs lead guitarist. He was actually supposed to find a lead guitarist, so I could focus on more rhythm stuff back in the day. I wouldn’t hold your breathe though because he was supposed to do that a little over nine years ago. Plus it would be hard to find someone who could put up with us and our stupidity.”
“Speaking of Seb, happy 8 year anniversary! God I still can’t believe you kept the fact that you were not only dating, but married a complete secret from the press.”
“Dixie, I can’t believe that we kept it a secret for so long too. We were almost caught several times....but we weren’t ready to tell the world yet. The media was never kind to me, and after everything that happened to my first ‘marriage’, if you could even call it that, I wanted to keep the personal personal,” I felt another smile cross my face as I remembered the night Seb proposed to me. The bassist and the guitarist, definitely an interesting couple.
“Well, since you brought up your disliking in the media....” I couldn’t hold back the laughter that escaped my lips and interrupt Dixie.
“Disliking is a nice way to put it,” I added unable to hide the smirk that had grown on my face.
“Well I just want to say thank you for reaching out to my team and I...You don’t have to answer this, but why now? Why are you breaking your silence?”
“Whenever you interviewed me, even when I was at that really low point where I didn’t think I could get back, you treated me like a human being. I wasn’t just another headline,” I paused and looked into the crowd and back a Dixie.
I took in the plain room one last time before I painted it with my stories.
“Why now? Because it’s about damn time the world knew what the hell happened behind the scenes. I finally feel safe to tell my story. It wasn’t always the super glamorous life that it was played out to be. In interviews we (Broken Voodoo) would always be harassed, and time and time again we would say something along the line of ‘shut up you don’t know the whole story’ or ‘it’s none of your damn business’. It’s time, the world should know. The sad part is that my story isn’t the only one like this. Maybe if I speak up........others will too,” I added.
“Thank you,” Dixie held my hands and I sent her a warm story.
“Where would you like to begin,” I quickly asked changing the topic.
“The beginning?” Dixie asked earning a nod from me.
I took a deep breath as I readjusted myself in the leather chair.
My name is Andy Michelle
The guitarist for Broken Voodoo.
Multi award winning, platinum record selling artist.
I’ve been taken advantage more times than I can count and in more way I can count.
I’ve probably consumed more alcoholic than there is water in Lake Michigan.
I’ve been both fired from my band, and quit just like everyone else in our fucked up band.
I’ve blacked out for days on end.
I’ve died.
This is my story.

Best of... It's a new year. There are plenty of things about last year that were forgettable. I really hope the worst is behind us. Some resolutions: live below my means, invest!!! (in the market, in my health, and in my mental wellbeing), enjoy the kids (they will be gone before you know it), and lastly... never stop learning. This is week 17: JAX/IND: Colts smash. If all the favorites win, Colts are still out. GB/CHI: Cheese to cover. Big Mitchie plays for his career. Over? DAL/NYG: Cowboys to win. They are the best of the worst and still might not make it. Under is the play. PIT/CLE: Steelers to cover. Browns have the VID. MRudolph revenge? Also playing for his career. TEN/HOU: Titans smash. Texans spent it all LW and lost to Cincy.  NO/CAR: Saints to win. I could see a kitty backdoor cover. NYJ/NE: Jets to win. The smart man would pass on this, the bettor likes +180. MIN/DET: Vikes to win. Lions are already done. ATL/TB: Bucs to win. Falcons D to keep Brady in till the 3rd quarter. BAL/CIN: Ravens take care of business vs "Paper Tigers". MIA/BUF: Bills to win. But don't need it. Might be resting. Under is preferred.  LAC/KC: Champs will rest, but still win. Pass. SEA/SF: Seattle to win. I feel like the number is inflated. Niners cover 7. LV/DEN: Donkeys to win. Vegas has no motivation at all here. AZ/LAR: Cards to win. Goff to sit. CAkers to "Try". WAS/PHI: WAS to win. Smith to start. Godert and Sanders to sit. Under is worth a look here. Best movie goes to Greyhound. Best movie based on a comic goes to The New Mutants. I have not seen Wonder Woman. Best shows: Star Trek: Discovery, and The Wilds. Best stocks: TSLA, and ZM. Best book I read was called "Your Money or Your Life" by J Dominguez, MTifford, and VRobin. Best Jam was Up All Night by Khalid. Hopeyalikedit.
