john wayne gacy jr. is a sufjan stevens song about john wayne gacy (very very very bad man) and my interpretation of that song has always been that sufjan is reflecting on the similarities between himself and this famous deviant. like they're both from around the same area, they both experience same sex attraction, so for him growing up, knowing about this notable deviant figure, like if your only gay representation you see growing up is a truly fucking horrible person.

so the song is basically saying "if i am experiencing same sex attraction, does that make me like him?" its about internalized homophobia and shame, having no positive gay representation, worrying that you're a monster for your feelings...

so,,, jirving. right... you guys see what im freaking out about right? jirv in his religion, his faith only teaching him about sick deviants, the temptations of the devil, the intrinisc connection between being gay and being evil (something clearly reflected in his treatment of hickey and gibson) so he's so mired in this horrible state of poor representation and shame and everything, that in summary, the song is perfect.

might be going crazy but anyone else notice in ep 8, before the infamous stalag fight scene, Bucky’s face is already bruised on the right side?

it’s not dirt b/c there’s a sickly greenish undertone to it, and not just brown mud

it’s not remnants from his time on the run because (1) it’s been MONTHS since then (2) earlier in the episode he was bruise-free already

so what does this mean? who’s been hitting him??? has he been picking fights this whole episode off-screen and getting punched for it?

and it’s so canon that the hair & makeup artists made sure to specifically paint bruises on his face for this scene??
